It outlasted the Harrisburg Mall, but Colonial Park Mall has seen better days itself. I'm especially sad about this adorable old Auntie Anne's store and kiosk that closes around the same time that Sears did. This was the last full-sized Sears in Pennsylvania when it shut down.

Stories Found. Letters to Emily. E. Dickinson.
From a house... through one of its windows with a view of hope, of crazy nights, of words like swords. In the center of the great city emanated love, a perfume of nostalgia that silently penetrated all the senses, the people, those who died and those who said goodbye under the shade to see and try to smile at Emily. One day Juan, a pragmatic guy, arrived and sat alone in the middle of nowhere, he noticed and remained motionless dreaming in the air when he felt someone staring at him, when he discovered that elegant woman, he said: inside himself; his demeanor and beauty seems to surpass everything beautiful, the intangible that I have not lived.
[...] Juan, the man who claimed to be a rain bard. And who never stops or refuses anything in the face of a woman's mysticism and sensuality, tried to groom himself from head to toe again and again, and introduce himself. At the sight of him, Emily's heart skipped a beat, she blushed and turned away from the window. Juan could not contain himself, he fell in love and joined the feast of nature and when the wind began to sway the grass, he had to leave, he decided to leave his heart for what he would take and Emily had given him her soul that lay naked before those clean eyes.
— Juan Francisco Palencia. Brief Narratives.

I got up bright and early today to make the twelve-mile drive to Boyd Big Tree Conservation Area, a nature preserve on Blue Mountain in Dauphin County. After a detour for breakfast that ended up taking too long, I started hiking at about 10 AM.
Between the snowy ground, the constant chilly wind, and the utterly barren treescape, this was the most wintry hike I've yet done. I had bought new mittens and a scarf since my last hike and was very glad to have them.
I had picked up a copy of the map at the trailhead, but I purposely didn't consult it - I wanted to see if my sense of direction had improved. I set off on a likely trail - fortunately everything here was well blazed.
At the first big hill, I drew my legendary stick [name pending] and kept it out for the rest of the hike. It came in tremendously helpful whenever things got treacherous or slippery, or even just for climbing.
I'd put myself on the Janie Trail, a 2.8 mile loop marked as "most difficult." The markings were not lying.
An out-and-back detour up another steep hill led me to the top of the ridge, although not the summit. The hill was worse going back down than coming up thanks to the snow.
The Janie Trail proper kept following an uphill path along Blue Mountain, and as I got higher up the snow began to thin out in places. Parts of the forest were practically snow-free.
I reached a clearing around some high-voltage transmission lines, and saw the clearcut strip stretch off into the distance. The trail split here but I kept following the red blazes.
You'd never guess there was snow blanketing the forest floor a hundred feet away.
The trail started getting increasingly treacherous here as I looped back to the snowy parts.
