So I was hyperfocused on clock module concept the back half of this week, so I started coding some stuff up. This afternoon, I think I stumbled onto a timer compare value that let's me just increment the master clock by the bpm value without any scaling. Sounds fake, but okay...

i love little things put into songs so much. extra harmonies, layering of vocals, the smallest of synths. just little things, and if you took them out of the song it'd probably still work, but the song would just be Less and emptier without it. i love you additional little things in music

Tear down photos of my personal TB-3-GP, Analog bassline synthesizer, or as I like to call her Motoko.

The TB-3 is behringers version of the classic (and completely unavailable) Roland TB-303, the sound of acid. it is also, annoyingly, just slightly wider then my light box, which made taking these photos more of a pain then I expected.

I really like the transparent plastic style on these, really reminds my of stuff I saw as a kid,. I also like that the named the colors as flavors, GP of course standing for grape.

Note the through hole electrolytic, and selected film capacitors, Very nice attention to detail, and good little boost for repairability.

As a synthesizer it is more versatile then I expected it to be, As well as the mandatory acid jams, and some trance, I recently used this to record all the lead lines in my Wagner cover, below.

when it comes to deep learning style vocal synths vs concatenative synthesis style vocal synths i like and use both, theres pros and cons for each, i adore deep learning synths for their versatility in vocal modes/expressions/appends/whatever and their breaths and of course im a fan of how many have multi-lingual functionality, but one thing they just cant beat concatenative on is the late 2000s-ass NND-ass doujin-ass impossibly fast rapid fire syllable'd japanese pop singing a la disappearance of hatsune miku. to be honest miku barely handles it. thats what the song is about. to me no one does it better than a basic but well oto'd CV utau LOL

I'm still new to all this, so maybe I just haven't hit a counter example, but I love how modular is all about sharing. Like I watch a video and hear a really amazing sound and think, "oh that'd be really cool to try to replicate", so I go on the website to try to glean what's going on from the manual or something and there's a whole entire link to a github page with all the source code
