Mei

Mei’s a complicated one, and I’ve done headcanons for him before so I’ll try and cover new stuff

He’s awkward, and full of false bravado

Before you get together, he tries to emulate the people he sees as suave and cool; Carlos and Masa

He knows he can’t be cool and mysterious like Masa, and he can’t pull off the cool guy persona Carlos has

And to no one's surprise, it crashes and burns, but that moment of vulnerability leads you to giving him a chance

Invoking your name helps wrangle him, he is so whipped

Has actually complained that you’re as important to him as baseball and he doesn’t know what to do

The first to say i love you, and it’s completely planned out

It’s errand day, and he asks you to join him because you wanted to see the stuff he buys

The only time Mei has ever been cool in this relationship

“It means a lot to me that you’re interested in this stuff, it’s part of why I love you.”

He doesn’t look away from whatever he’s looking at, partly because he’s terrified and partly because he’s embarrassed

Gets moody if you don’t have lunch with him, this is still Mei after all

Also very jealous, though he’ll deny the hell out of it.

Carlos

He’s a flirt, as in he constantly flirts with you

And if you flirt back? He’s super happy

Doesn’t fluster easily

Just, asks you out– nothing fancy, just asks you to have lunch with him alone

Mei is, of course, offended that he’s being abandoned but is also nosy as hell and bombardes him with questions later

Likes to brag about you, brings you up at every chance he can

Shirakawa is sick of it, Mei pretends to be sick of it but he’s secretly really invested

Baseball is the most important thing to him, but you’re a very close second– so he likes to combine the two

Like has you hold his feet, even though he doesn’t need you too, so when he sits up he can kiss you while working out

You say I love you first, probably in a “why do I love you way”

“Aw, damn, you beat me to it.”

Who knows if he’s jealous, he’s clingy and flirty anyways so if he is jealous his behaviour doesn’t change

He’s faster than you, probably, but challenges you to races and lets you win because your laughter as you accuse him is nice

Shirakawa

I have also done headcanons for Shirakawa before, so I’ll try and tread new ground

You have weekly study meetings that slowly turn into study dates

He never officially asks you out, you either have to asks him what you are or just come to the conclusion yourself

If you ask, he’ll answer even though he doesn’t like spelling out what he feels is obvious

Just goes to show how much he loves you

He’s private about your relationship, Mei and Carlos are offended he didn’t tell them about you

Surprisingly, is the first to say I love you in a rare moment of insecurity

You’re just having lunch, and there’s another couple being all touchy and gooey and he wonders if you ever wish he did stuff like that

“I love you. Don’t look at me like that, I feel fine.”

Is the jealous type, it’s one of the few times he initiates PDA

Wraps an arm around you and just stands there, waiting

If someone flirts with him he ignores them, and if they don’t go away he announces he has a partner and tells them to fuck off

Seeing you at games is his favorite moment, but he will die before he tells anyone

Masatoshi

Mei calls you his parents when he’s annoyed with Masa

Also complains to you when Masa tells him off and stuff

You have to ask Masa out, even if he likes you he will not think to ask you out

He’s a busy guy and doesn’t think he can balance a relationship, so you guys have to be really close already

When he goes to run errands, he asks you to join him and you stop for lunch or at a cafe

You’re kind of like an old married couple, partly because you’ve known each other for so long

Tells you he loves you first, he’s tired and it kind of just slips out

The secret jealous type, you might think he’s too mature for jealousy but no

Itsuki

Depends on if this is first or second year Itsuki

First year Itsuki is more awkward with his confession, second year Itsuki is more confident

Both give you a confession letter, face to face

Mei teases the fuck out of him, Carlos congratulates him for his confidence

Your relationship is sweet, and stalked by Mei

I’m sorry, you cannot convince me Mei isn’t invested in everyone’s love lives

Speaking of Mei, Itsuki tests all his jokes on you

Who says I love you first? You, and it flusters the hell out of Itsuki

It makes him really happy when you come to practice or games, he’s a little more stubborn with Mei when you’re there

A little jealous, but tries not to bother you with it because he thinks it’s silly

Generally gets jealous for the same reasons as Masa, and also when Mei flirts with you even though he only flirts with you to bother Itsuki

Absolute wreedheid

Ik herinner me geen enkele oudere in mijn jeugd en jonge volwassenheid die dement werd of alzheimer kreeg. Dat zou heel gemakkelijk gekund hebben met de enorme kennissenkring van mijn ouders. Misschien was dat ook omdat er uit schaamte amper over gepraat werd, nu is alzheimer en dementie alom aanwezig. Langzamerhand is er een canon te maken van boeken, films, documentaires en series. Zo zijn beelden ontstaan die tot ons (westers) collectief beeldarchief zijn gaan behoren: een kamer vol opgeplakte post-its, dwalende oude mannen en vrouwen langs drukke wegen, documentaire beelden van treurige verpleeghuizen, advertenties van zonnige villa's met lachend verzorgend personeel. Het zijn de dementie- en alzheimer-memes van deze tijd. Alle liefde, optimisme en tederheid ten spijt is er amper iets wreders te bedenken dan je identiteit kwijt raken bij leven.

En toch ging ik gisterochtend naar de Japanse film 'A hundred flowers'*. De trailer bevatte alles wat ik kon verwachten van de zoveelste film over het onderwerp. Ik was die dag alleen, en daar hoort luiheid bij of anders een soort verstilling. Lui was ik genoeg geweest de afgelopen week. Ik zette me, zo merkte ik, toch een beetje schrap toen de film begon. Japanse films zijn of traag of gewelddadig of absurd, zo denk ik wel eens. Dit kon niet anders dan een verstilde film worden, zo zeiden de eerste beelden: een verouderd interieur in bruintinten, een oudere vrouw in zacht vloeiende kleding die Bach speelt op de piano – ze stokt heel even – en dan een verwarrende scène waarin de tijd lijkt ingedikt of juist uitgerekt. De bodem is gelegd voor het niet chronologisch vertelde drama van een moeder met alzheimer en haar volwassen zoon. Ooit verdween de moeder zomaar uit het leven van haar zoontje. Nooit heeft hij geweten waarom en wat er is gebeurd. Het script is geraffineerd, omdat zijn niet-weten en haar vergeten elkaar spiegelen. Slechts in één scène komen alle angsten en frustraties van hun beiden tot een uitbarsting. Wij als kijkers weten wat er is gebeurd. We zijn de alwetende kijkers, een geruststellende positie. 'Hersenschimmen' van Bernlef lezen of 'Iris' van John Bayley, kijken naar een documentaire, 'The Father' of 'Still Alice' zien, de oude Stoïcijnen erop na slaan, dat alles is hoe indringend en belangrijk ook iets anders dan de angst en de ontreddering van een naaste recht in de ogen kijken.

Mijn moeder werd rond haar 91e dement. Ik vertel mensen wel eens hoe mooi en belangrijk die laatste jaren voor mij waren. Teruglopend naar huis in de regen, na afloop van de film, vroeg ik me af of die verhalen niet te mooi zijn. Ze laten de wreedheid waaraan zij werd onderworpen, en die zich voor mijn ogen afspeelde, in tact. Geen enkele filosoof, filmer, schrijver, dichter of god kan die wreedheid verzachten, het verzacht alleen de pijn van wie daarvan getuige is – achteraf.

For my name it was a nickname I was giving back in middleschool! One of our teacher had a system where we worked with 'wifi' eachtime we talked in class we lost a bar of the "wifi" (was a weird joke and we never held count on that) All the kids usually joked if they needed 'wifi' , they would borrow mine if they wanted to talk more. (I was incredibly shy in middle school, I only talked to like 3 people at school;^;)

They called me Ms. Wifi because of that. I just thought it would be funny if I put 'miss' instead of 'ms' because of my terrible actual wifi connection I have at home lol.

it’s the festive season. it’s time for joy, love, and presents! so let’s open up the gift bag and see what’s in store.

i’ve met and connected with a lot of wonderful people through tumblr, that i would love to show my appreciation for somehow. therefore i decided to make gifts for as many of these lovely people as possible. originally i started with the lovely people of the house of daiya server, but since expanded to embrace as many of these special people as time would allow.

to keep it short:

for each person i’ve made a little gift in the form of gifs/mangacaps/the likes.

each gift is based of a favorite character. for the HOD members, i picked based on the favorites stated in your introduction, while also trying to avoid duplicates. for the rest, i went by memory or simply asked.

each gift has a little piece of lyrics attached, which either reminds me of you, the way i picture the way you love, or “simply just” serves as me, wanting to show you my love and affection for you, the friends i’ve made along the way.

the gifts will be posted over three days leading up to christmas eve, as there are quite a few, and i don't want to clog the dash too much.

Miyuki vs Kuramochi

Ouch, this one… they’re both self conscious

Miyuki acknowledges Kuramochi as the more “sociable” of the two

Kuramochi acknowledges Miyuki as the “better” of the two

And I honestly see this being a wedge in their relationship

Scratch that, if you pick one of them their friendship is over

They’ll try to subtly one up each other, and they claim it isn’t a competition

Need someone to hold your bag? They’ve got it. Forgot something? They’ll walk with you.

They try and agree that whoever you end up with isn’t necessarily the better of the two

But the only thing stopping either of them from confessing is how much they value the other as a friend

In the end though, it’s not enough

Kanemaru vs Tojo

This one is good

As in, their friendship will survive

It’s not even a competition, they don’t try and go out of their way to spend more time with you than the other does

In fact, you end up spending time together as a group more as well

And if you show  interest in one of them, the other gracefully backs off

Sure he’s kind of sad, but he can live with his best friend and you being happy together

And maybe it’s the jealousy talking, but this relationship might fall through

If it does, he’ll be glad to still have his bff

They’re also not afraid to confess, they just have to work up the nerve first

Someday they’ll laugh about this, especially if you turn them both down

Masa vs Mei

Is this even really a competition?

Funny enough, that’s the same thing Mei wonders and it terrifies him

Masa doesn’t care, if you like Mei he doesn’t care

Okay, he might judge your taste

But I think Mei starts to show off more

He knows Masa is more mature, and stoic, and he definitely can’t compete on that second front

So he leans in to what he perceives as his personal brand

It’ll either drive you away, which he doesn’t want but he’s not really thinking about that outcome, or if you really really like him you’ll ask him what the fuck is up

To be clear that’s not how he views the situation, he basically just goes into peacock mode

In the end it doesn’t really hurt their relationship, it just causes Mei to do some self reflection
