Traveling down the narrow road to Hana there is so much to see. It is a beautiful, one of a kind place. We stopped in front of this lot to take a photo. As I was about to pose by the statue facing the land across the road where we had parked, we noticed about 15-20 men, some with rifles jumping over the the porch railing & into 3 trucks up the dirt road. They started yelling and motioning towards us. We jumped in our Jeep and took off as fast as we could before they could get to us. We have no idea what they were protecting or who they thought we were, but we got out of there fast! 😂 Always be careful and remember that there are dangers everywhere. We hiked down from the amazing @shirleyheightsofficial restaurant and bar at the top of the mountain. It was a crazy trail and we somehow ended up about a mile from where we thought we would. Snorkeling in Fiji was absolutely phenomenal! The fish were so friendly and curious that we wanted to swim around the island to find more. As we swam to the other side we could not find any fish at all... they just disappeared! Can anyone guess why there were no fish in sight? Some of you may already know the answer... There was a SHARK! We started to video it, but then it did the “Shark Week” turn and swam right for us. 🦈 Let’s just say Wifey pulled a “Scooby Dooby Doo” and headed for the shore. A good friend snapped this photo as we were sitting in a natural hot spring 🥵 in a freezing cold 🥶 river. It was an amazing view to watch the sun going down and the water rushing by. We normally do not post photos of us in our photos, but this is an exception. Our trip to Alaska was unbelievable. The scenery is magnificent! ...Just a warning if you sign up for a “River Raft Float” trip... It might not be a calm mellow “float” down the River. Remember it is Alaska! Our friends went and it was a crazy rough trip. The guide was inexperienced and fell overboard while trying to save someone who was thrown overboard. It was a scary adventure for all of them with no emergency plan in place. 😳 Freezing 🥶 too! . Would you ever explore an underwater cave? While sailing in the Caribbean our captain anchored near a huge rock. The rock had three dark caves, which we explored using our snorkeling gear. It was incredible. There really is nothing like a sailing vacation. Having this view at all times is incredible. Spending a week barefoot and in a swimsuit is not for everyone, but is definitely our kind of vacation! Jumping in the water to snorkel before breakfast, paddle boarding, kayaking or just floating in the water with a custom cocktail or champagne. Life is amazing! The cabin was beautiful with our own bathroom & shower. The captain & first mate are amazing chefs! The catamaran is more stable than a regular sailboat, which means it has less of the rocking motion. If you do not have this on your bucket list... add it today!!! What an amazing place. We rode bicycles everywhere... to breakfast, the beach & around town. Such a beautiful area with so much history. We drove to the Cape Fear River and noticed a sign saying to “keep small children away from the water and pets on a leash. When you visit Fiji, we would recommend taking the Whale’s Tale Champagne & Snorkeling Cruise to Schooner Island. It is uninhabited so we had the island to ourselves with our group. There is even a sand volleyball court there! The snorkeling was amazing & we even saw a SHARK. We are infatuated with the hidden hot springs around to world. There is no cell service, no way to ping your gps location. Could we find it again if we tried? Maybe...if we went back soon. Look closely at the beautiful calm hot spring pool in the left side of the rushing river as the snow melts in the Idaho National Forest. This is truly a bucket list item... if you can find it. It took us 6 hours on a snow covered road, the sun was going down, we had only a couple of miles worth of gas left in the car. What a wild adventure! We found an emergency survival box that we could get back to if we needed it, then we ran into a bear hunter who graciously let us have some of his extra gas. Was it worth it?
