I'm taking a lot of inspiration from D Gray-man and Blue Exorcist here. Mostly the latter, I miss reading those series so much.

They are taken under the 'protection of the Church' to train as exorcists. Ed is Roy's apprentice and of course he hates that. The church and exorcist society are separate entities, with exorcism being a more specialized skillset that you have to have many years of training for vs the Church being almost like a cover this organization. (Again, I'm a heretic who knows nothing of God and I'm not gonna pretend otherwise.) Roy is a priest and mid-ranking exorcist who specializes in a form of text-based binding (Blue Exorcist remember). Riza is a nun and his main assistant - silver guns and silver bullets!

As for the boys, I imagine Trisha died to an accident or something like cancer and the boys try to see her one more time. As in they were tricked by a demon and both suffered grievous injuries trying to exorcise it. They succeeded obviously but not without the horrible fate of meeting, knowing, and being actively perceived by God (and it ain't the Christian god). Ed lost an arm and a leg due to his injuries, and Alphonse has been an anime coma for three years as his soul has been knocked from his body.

Edward obviously blames himself and is only cooperating with the exorcist organization to find a way to help Al recover.

This year’s Edward is not the most exciting but I’m very busy and I can’t break my streak on the 10th anniversary of doing this!!

Have you ever been super consistent with something and then dropped off the face of the earth because of a major life change? Recently, I went backpacking in Asia. While I was nearing the end of my trip, I made a choice. I had realized how much I enjoyed backpacking, having started my trip without any planning.

I’d only planned to visit some friends for a month, packed (and by packed I mean overpacked) and then ended up staying for three and visiting 4 countries, made dozens of acquaintances, and a couple of genuinely good friends. As one does, when they’re experiencing true adventures, I wondered how I could possibly sustain myself while continuing future backpacking adventures?

Then I remembered a career I tried to start in 2016, but failed in 2019, and my ongoing attempts to continue it until the pandemic shut down and hopes for it. I moved on, which is why I even made it to backpacking in Asia to begin with.

While visiting a military base in Malaysia with a friend of my younger brother, I checked my email and replied to a school I’d been trying to work with since 2020. I said: “I just saw this now. I am sorry it's such a late response, I am backpacking in SE Asia at the moment but I'd be happy to have an interview if possible!” Sunday Oct 15, @ 0400 EST. I lied, I had seen in when she first sent the update June 13, 2023. But I’d already decided they were inconsistent with their contact and I’d moved on to something else (whatever that may be).

But with my goals changed and new experiences, this career looked like the perfect opportunity. I had an interview with her while in South Korea at 0030, Korean time. Definitely the oddest time for an interview!

We figured out plans, I submitted my necessary paperwork, and on January 8th, I began my educational classes to become a 3rd mate unlimited for inland shipping.

The program is very exhausting. Each week is a new class. Monday you’re introduced, and Friday you take your final exam. You need a minimum of 70% to pass most tests, though some are 80% and even 90% minimums, with 3 attempts or you have to retake the class.

I’m happy that I’m doing this. This was a career that I found I really enjoyed back in 2019, but due to my professional crastination habits, I failed sea projects and was disenrolled from the Academy. It’s a mistake that took me until 2022 to fully resolve (I attended the graduation that could have been mine).

So, since January I’ve been fixated on my future. In April I’ll start practical training. Then next January to April, April to December, rinse and repeat. I’ll do this for 2 years. And by 2026, I must take Coast Guard Certified tests, 7. 6 with a minimum passing score of 70, and one of 90. Additionally, I’ll need to get my pilotage for 8 rivers and lakes. Each pilotage requires 2 tests with minimum of 85%.

Basically, in 2026 I have to take 23 tests that will make or break my career.

Once I start working, I’ll have 1 month on, 1 month off job at $300/day. Which will mean 1 month of work and 1 month of traveling!

Oh, and the thing I mentioned being super consistent about in the beginning? I was updating weekly a fanfiction on my ao3. It reached 40k and I had these massive writing plans. But I’m so burnt out that I haven’t updated since November. So yeah. My hobbies are left to the wayside while I focus on my future. I wanted to put this I my author notes, but dang, this is way too much. So tumblr gets it instead!

I got a new bag at forest fair this year. It’s red and orange and shaped like a whale shark with big button eyes, ridiculously adjustable straps, and a surprising amount of space inside compared to my old bag.

So I’ve piled a lot of things into it. Among the usual things like wallet, phone, lip balm. A small bottle of lotion, a small tin of hand cream, two different kinds of earplugs, glasses cleaner, phone battery, a notebook & pencil, and a small box of the Pride pins I make.

It only has one small pocket inside of it, so I put my most-used and smallest stuff in there. So, to keep things more organized, I put some things into a small handy little mesh bag I got from some dice or earrings or something I got. Two different sizes of pads, normal band-aids, waterproof band-aids, at least four ibuprofen, a pack of tissues… I’m sure there’s something I’m forgetting. Anyways, *everything* that’s in my bag isn’t exactly the point of this post.

Once I realized how much stuff I could put in my new bag, it made me happy to think of being the ‘has literally any random thing and god knows what else in his bag’ guy. And there’s still stuff I wanna add, like maybe a small sewing kit, glasses repair kit… gum. So on.

And recently, in an online class I’ve been in (which could be another, less positive post, at least right now) I saw someone trying to post their art on the discussion board that had done something I had almost done, until I figured out the way everyone else was doing it. So I just dropped a quick comment, telling them I’d had the same problem, and trying to help. Not required or anything, I just… wanted to.

Last night, my friend Skyler was drawing something for the first time in awhile- they were struggling with a small part of it, asked for some help- I did a quick show of how the reference they were using lines worked, the sort of shape they made, and also drew a vague shape of what it could look like over/with their lineart. It didn’t take much work, just a few minutes or so, but they were really happy. The art came out great, by the way, and it made me really happy to see them drawing again.

and tonight my partner was also drawing- something for my birthday, actually. (Tuesday. Oct 3rd. I’m turning 18.) At first he was just struggling with the cuff of a sleeve, some fabric folds, so I did a similar thing to help him out. Now I’m also drawing a quick reference of my oc Viri’s face scar for him, (which I have yet to finish. Class project. That I should be working on instead of writing this.) because he needed that too, and I don’t mind.

They were both thanking me for my help- we were all on call together- and in trying to find something to say, I just managed “I like to help.” And, you know, I really think I do, actually. I like to help. It’s nice. I don’t know where I was going with this originally, but… I like to help. I want to help. And I’ve been doing it without much of a second thought lately, which is nice. It feels good.

it’s 7am and I haven’t slept which isn’t helping my mush brain make the original point/meaning here that I’ve kinda forgotten by now. But I wanna be good and kind and help but I also wanna remember how to be mean again.

but I guess what I mean by ‘mean’ I think, is I want to.. have a backbone again? Be brave again? Be a brash little autistic kid who said ‘but why’ to everything and anything and just did what they thought was right? And it’s kind of ‘mean’ only because a lot of other people see it that way. I wanna stick up for others and myself too, instead of clamming up and not doing it. It doesn’t help that I don’t feel very intimidating. I’m almost 18, but I’m pretty short and a weird little hopefully-kinda-gnc-lookin thing and people just always seem to think that I’m 13 or something. It’s genuinely getting on my nerves. Ma’am. I am a fucking grown ass man. Please stop talking to me like that.

I’m tired I need to sleep. Basically I wanna be kind but take no shit. I guess. That’s very punk to me. And I wanna make a jacket covered in patches and pins and other customizations, maybe some spikes and some moss, paint and sharpies and god knows what else. I simultaneously wanna look like a wizard, some cottage thing, a punk ass fuck, a colorful blob, and some forest creature, which is great. Anyways remembering the nice stuff I’ve done recently w just the. I dunno, almost bewildered ‘I like to help’ that was.. instinct? Makes me feel good. I wanna have my sharp teeth back.

It’s october 3rd and it’s Chan's birthday. I think his friends would be there right now celebrating with him. It’s been 4 years since we broke up but I still miss him. Though we had a mutual break up, I know what he felt when he walked. Had our families not been rivals, maybe now I would be celebrating with him. But there is no use now thinking about it.he is gone. I just wish he would be happy this birthday.

I haven't had a dream of chan for a long time. It was a sweet dream. I guess I was thinking of his birthday when I fell asleep so I dreamt that. But I wish we could do that. The dream was the sweetest thing that happened to me. I decorated our apartment with the help of Felix, Minho and han. And when he entered he was so happy he started crying. He rushed to me and hugged me tight. And then he kissed me. It was a dream but it felt so real. I didn’t realize it but I started crying. I got up and wiped my tears. I need to go to work. I can’t just sit here thinking for an alternative ending which is nearly impossible.

I got off work pretty late today. I usually work till late. I hate being alone. I closed everything and wore my coat and got down. I didn’t bring my car today because I wanted to walk. It feels good to walk when you have so many things in your mind. When I was walking I saw a cake shop. I don’t think this is a coincidence. I went inside and ordered a chocolate cake. When they asked what to write at the top I froze for a moment. But then I told them to write his name. Was it a bad idea?

I reached home and showered and changed. I sat down to cut the cake but realized I forgot candles. Why am I like this?  I checked my fridge and it was empty. I have to buy food. I put on a black hoodie and went out. I went to the convenience store near my house and bought some food, water bottles, beer and candles. When I came out of the store I froze. My eyes started to well up and the land beneath my feet shifted. I saw Chan sitting at one of the tables and eating kimbap. When he looked up his eyes met mine and he froze too. He coughed and choked on his food. I rushed to him and gave him water.

“ What are you doing here?” I asked him.

He gulped down some water and then stood up, “ hi y/n, how are you?”

He avoided my question, he always does this as he says he never want to lie to me.

“ i am good chan”, i took a small pause and then continued, “ how are you?”

“Same as you”, he replied and smiled.

“Btw happy birthday”, I said softly.

He smiled again, “ you remembered”.

“Of course I do”, I said , a bit embarrassed.

“Is that why you bought those candles?”, he said and pointed to the bag.

Damn, I was caught. I never felt this embarrassed. I nodded.

“Does that mean you have a cake for me?”, he asked.

I looked at him and nodded.

“ So can I assume I am invited to my birthday party?”, he asked again.

And I looked at him with utter surprise. I mean i want him there of course but it’s been years we even talked. I want him to come but I am worried if his family will find out. He will be in trouble again. After our break up I cut off all relations with my family but I heard Chan loved his dad so he was always by his side and if his dad knew about this then he would be in trouble again.

I decided to ask him, " It will be okay by me but Chan-" , I stopped Midway and started fidgeting with the ground. 

"But ? What y/n ?" , he questioned. 

"What about your dad Chan ? If he knows you met me you will be in trouble again" I looked at him worriedly. 

He didn't say anything for a moment then sighed and said, " he passed away y/n?" He took a pause and then said , "it's been a year I am all alone".

I don't know why but I felt his pain and I started crying. He looked at me and came closer and wiped my tears and lowered himself to face me, "hey don't cry it's not your fault" and then he made me look up to him and said, " can I ask something y/n ?" 

I nodded and then he said, " can I come back to you ?”

His question made me freeze. I couldn’t process what he said. I was looking at him in shock. The only thing I wanted to hear so badly was this and he said it. I started crying again. Why am I crying so much?

He was worried when i started crying, “ i am sorry y/n i didn’t want to upset you but i can’t forget you for even a moment. All the freaking time I was thinking of you. I can’t ever stop loving you and that’s why I came here today and I wished for this today to see you. I am sorry I made you cry”, he said sadly.

I can’t even imagine now that this is happening for real right now. Chan came back to me. He really did come back. I couldn’t know what to say so I reached for his lips and gave him a peck. I guess he understood my message. He pulled me closer and kissed me. After we broke the kiss I said, “ let’s go and celebrate your birthday channie before it ends”.

hello friends !! ★

its been a little busy lately but i'm back :)

these past few weeks have been kinda eventful for me ! but i think it's starting to calm down a little for me so that's why i'm writing today :]

homecoming happened, and it was super fun !! probably the cutest i've ever looked in my entire life. like the previous blogs have said, i decided to be hime gyaru !! it almost went wrong a couple of times, but a wise person told me that "everything in life will go wrong. it all depends on how you react to it" so i tried reacting the best i could ! my dress zipper stopped working because of how cheap my dress is, and so me and my mom and to pin it all together. my hair was MUCH messier than i wanted it to be. i didn't get to put on the my melody press ons i bought. on top of everything, i was about an hour late. and yet i was still so so sooo happy with how i looked :) the whole dance was so fun for me (and i even got to hang around my crush the entire time 🫢). i'm so glad it all worked out !

but... that's not really where it ends unfortunately. (dun dun dun..) i got the flu !! i caught it from somebody at homecoming so i was out of commission for a little less than a week :( i planned on posting then but i wasn't in the right headspace for it :') halloween came and by then my fever was down, but i still unfortunately ended up unhappy with my look. i was supposed to be abbey bominable but i can try something else next year ! the rest of the week i just got back into having co*des i truly do enjoy although, unfortunately, i did and still do have a lot of school work to catch up on.

that's really enough about my life :) onto the co*des ! i'll just describe a few of my favorites since its been a while. obviously my homecoming co*de was PERFECT !! i used a lot of different bows in my new hair, and had this pink and white sleeveless dress with lots of bows under it. i just put a petticoat under it to make it bigger. of course me accessories were pearl heavy, from necklaces, to bags, to earrings. i had these cute fluffy leg warmers and a white bear purse to match, all oct 22nd !! nov 3rd i wore these bat earmuffs, a long plaid red skirt, a spiked collar, and a black top with lots of holes in it !! nov 4th i wore the same earmuffs instead with a pink tank top, some gothic lace sleeves, and a plaid pink skirt. the co*de was based on draculaura :]

Maki leaned in toward her dormroom mirror. Was that a split end?

Geez…

Ever since Nico had pointed out her poor hair hygiene during finals last trimester, Maki had been a bit self-conscious about getting split ends again.

But what was she doing wrong?

Sure, she was going to her stylist less often after graduating high school. In fact, she hadn’t gone at all since starting college. Nico’s impromptu bathroom salon session had been the only thing remotely close to professional treatment she had done in months.

But she was still following the instructions her stylist had given her. She bought only the best brands of shampoo and conditioners and used them with the recommended frequency. She didn’t over brush, in fact sometimes, she forgot to in her haste to get back to study… oh… She realized she had forgotten to properly dry her hair a few times as well.

Maki sighed. Maybe Nico was right, and she really was slipping in some areas. Her sleep schedule had been off kilter for a while now. She often forgot to eat, if Nico didn’t come over to cook or send her home with leftovers after a visit. Nico did the bulk of her laundry, though Maki wanted to believe she was starting to get better.

Nico really did a lot for her, almost to the point of spoiling her. And Maki couldn’t deny liking it, in fact she liked it far more than she would ever admit out loud.

Nico-chan…

Maki wound the section of hair with the split ends around her finger. Would it be wrong to ask Nico for another trim instead of going back to her stylist?

Despite sitting on an unpadded, wooden chair that didn’t recline and covered in an old sheet while in an apartment bathroom, Maki had never been so relaxed during a haircut as she was at Nico’s. Watching the older girl perform the trim in the mirror was at least as enjoyable as watching her cook, if not more so. Heck, Maki had been so comfortable, she ended up falling asleep; granted, she had been exhausted from having just finished finals, but still…

And just because Nico wasn’t a professionally licensed stylist, she was not your average amateur; her skills were on par, if not better than many of the stylists Maki had visited over the years.

But would Nico mind? Maki was more than happy to offer payment in the form of ordering a meal to be delivered as she had the last time. And Nico seemed quite proud of the fact that she cut not only her own, but also Nozomi’s and Eli’s, even going so far as teaching Nozomi some techniques.

NishikinoMaki: Ne, Nico-chan

Niconii: What’s up, Maki-chan?

NishikinoMaki: Would you mind if I came over a little early tomorrow?

Niconii: Maki-chan can’t wait to see Nico, eh?

She’s baiting me… Maki deleted her kneejerk response.

NishikinoMaki: I was wondering if I could ask you to trim my hair again

NishikinoMaki: I’ll order dinner for us after

Author’s Note Continued: I’ve written so much about Ayu working with Yuu and Setsu’s hair, I felt the need to return to my old favorite flagship. Back to Nico’s Salon. But I really do love the trope of having character X dry/style/wash/play with/etc character Y’s hair. And I hold a bit of a headcanon that the three redheads of my flagships all love hair in some way or another; Maki with her own and having Nico work with it, Ayu with Yuu and Setsu’s and working with theirs, and Riko running her hands through Yohane’s hair as a comforting measure. I doubt I will ever tire of writing on the topic, even if it ends up being a bit repetitive at times.

In early Oct 2019, a section of the creator community held/organized a fandom charity auction to help out a fellow creator who had fallen on hard times (for more info on the past auction click here).

I offered three commissions towards the auction. Ashtraythief was gracious enough to bid for and win my 3rd. During the after auction discussion between me and the bidder, we agreed to change the listed offer from one illustration into a comic.

Artist Notes:

The auction was back around the beginning of October. I wasn’t able to really start on this project until late Nov. due to prior commitments. I ended up getting caught up in finals and drawing skulls...

Tons of skulls. Many skulls, lots of skulls. Skulls, skulls, skulls. It wasn’t a requirement. That was my artist machoism coming through. I hand-painted (well digitally hand-painted) one side and copied, pasted, flipped for the other side. Thank god, or else I’d have been working on the cover page for another month.

The title page was finished late December.... but I had signed up for the Sam Winchester Bang and put the comic on the back burner, thinking I had enough time to work on both. I technically did, but I didn’t anticipate the artist block and cold I ran into, which was a big roadblock to both projects. I wasn’t able to do all I wanted for the Sam BB and I ended up finishing later than I wanted for this project.

This was supposed to be Valentine Day’s comic. I told Ash that I’d finish sometime in February, which I did. Because it’s still Feb. But, my personal goal was to finish before Valentine’s Day. Which means that I’m a week and three days late, give or take. But, I’ll take what I can get. It’s still Feb. It’s not too late. :D    T^T

Originally I wanted the title to be My Bloody Valentine, but I couldn’t get it to fit around what I drew. You’re supposed to plan that stuff ahead of time, but I do what I want and reap the consequences of my actions like a hobbyist.

I had to take a bunch of screenshots of 10x03 for this project. Finding references can be tedious. Thank god, for Netflix. It’d be hell without you within my grasp. I look at different pics for hearts, but it was mostly of the full organ. So.... I kind of went with a reference pic of a realistic chocolate heart the most. So ignore any anatomically incorrect forms, please and thank you.

I was inspired by Ash’s ideas and the reoccuring fanon troupes of Demon!dean and blood addict!Sam to get the story. The only art inspiration I had was a batman the animated series poster (the one with a batman outline and a pink cityscape in the background, that says I AM THE NIGHT as the title), which I heavily drew from for the cover page. Oddly enough, I totally forgot about the scene where Dean goes through the bunker with the emergency lights on. So, there is only an accidental relation to that.

There are mistakes, but it has its good spots. I give it a pass. My bidder was happy with it, which means I’m happy with it.
