Tenma Tsukasa "Happy Birthday!" (3) Card Story Summary

Fan translation (Tsukasa's #3 Fan) Part 1 / Part 2

Part 1: Tsukasa finishes a disciplinary committee during the first part of lunch break, which also happens to fall on his birthday. He's excited for Saki's birthday plans later that day.

After, An finds Tsukasa in the hallway and points out one of Rui's robots lying around in the hallway. When he goes to pick it up, it starts running away. Tsukasa chases after it.

The bot ends up leading him to the rooftop, where Rui, Nene, An, Akito, Toya, and Mizuki were all waiting. Tsukasa learns the plot was planned by Toya, with the willing help of everyone. Toya hands them all some homemade cupcakes. Rui also asked if Tsukasa would accept his gift of a new stage device that may or may not explode.

Part 2: Tsukasa, Saki, and their parents celebrate Tsukasa's dinner at home. Saki had cooked him something, and he starts crying before she even reveals what it is. She made him ginger fried pork, his favorite dish. He starts crying again.

Saki had also recorded messages from some students of Miyajou. Leo/need wishes him luck on his future stage adventures, Emu and Kohane want him to keep giving it his best during plays, and Shizuku, Minori, and Airi give him various thank you messages. Once again, Tsukasa starts crying.

Later that night, Miku calls Tsukasa to SEKAI, where everyone, including Emu, Nene, and Rui, had prepared a special surprise birthday show.

Various characters leave birthday messages. Leo/need are all happy Tsukasa loved Saki's ginger fried pork, and Toya, Akito, and Mizuki were glad the rooftop lunch was fun. An teases Kohane over the video messages, while Airi, Minori, and Shizuku are happy Tsukasa has a little sister who cares so much about him. Mafuyu also wishes him well here. Rui continues to tease him about the exploding stage device, to which Nene tries to stop. Emu wishes him a sparkling and wonderhoy birthday.

anyways i think that he gets genuinely surprised when he finds out everyone is planning a b-day party for him. i'd like to imagine that he's not really used to people doing things for him ??? but now he has his partners and the sekai and everything and it's WEIRD for him !!! he's used to saki and toya saying happy birthday ofc, and maybe getting a couple of presents, but outside that ???

he doesn't even THINK that his friends would do anything for him !!! so it's normal at school, it's normal at practice, and then he leaves !!! but emu's like "oh wait for us tsukasa !!!!" and they walk him home and that's Not Normal !!!

then he goes home and he opens the door and then holy shit !!! people in his house saying happy birthday

and of course bro starts crying bc why wouldn't he :[ and it's just !!! they have cake and akito almost sets tsukasa on fire when he tries to light the candles. tsukasa's sitting there lookin all ^-^ n shit and akito is right beside him saying curse words not uttered since the 16th century. and then he fumbles the lighter and almost sets tsukasa's hair on fire and it's all on video bc mizuki was filming it.

saki toya and kanade are like thankin people for coming. like toya and saki are like parents like they're walking around shakin people's hands like "thank you for coming. you don't know how much this means to us" w tears in their eyes. and kanade walks behind them (also w tears in her eyes) and nods.

wxs almost blows up the house when they set off fireworks out back. like it's not even the kind that go up in the air n shit it's those driveway sparklers that they set off on the patio. except they're home made <3

Birthday Headcanons!

I recently answered an ask about birthdays, and I wanted to offer some of my headcanons in addition to that. This is all just speculation, so feel free to come up with your own ideas instead!

Nene

I am very firmly of the belief that she is still fifteen years old as of the recent chapter (124). One thing I will say about Nene is she looks kind of young to me? So it wouldn't surprise me if she had a winter birthday. But I'm very torn on which year she was born... on the one hand I really like her having a birthday in February. Another female protagonist of AidaIro's, Neige, was born in February. Nene's name written in goroawase (japanese number puns) is also 22, so a birthday like 2/2/2000 feels very good to me... on the other hand, I really like her having the year of the rabbit as her zodiac. She's dressed up as a rabbit a few times, including for a New Year's celebration art:

But obviously this doesn't mean anything... Aoi could not be a snake, and Hanako is definitely a sheep despite dressing as a dragon in a different new year's artwork... and you've gotta admit that a rabbit just Feels more Nene than a dragon, right? (And sheeps and rabbits make for perfect couples, if you didn't know...)

That said, it's hard to choose a month and day in 1999 that feel right to me for her birthday... given the Yugi twins were born on "Good Twins Day" (11/25), a Japanese micro holiday, I get the feeling AidaIro wouldn't be able to pass up another good joke or pun for our heroine's birthday...

There are some fun holidays that could fit her. Here's a list:

Mermaid Day (June 30)

Strawberry Day (January 5)

Sengiri Daikon Day (February 17)

Goldfish Day/Girls' Day (March 3)

... But as you can see, none of these fit my requirements for what I want her birthday to be. :'( I'd really be happy with anything as long as it hasn't happened yet though!

For now, I guess I'll just give her a birthday like December 2, 1999... which is also really close to Amane's birthday, funnily enough.

Mitsuba

Since this guy is associated with the number three so much, I really struggle to imagine he wouldn't have a 3 in his birthdate somewhere... an obvious answer is March 28, which true fans will know is a fanmade micro holiday to celebrate the man himself because 328 is goroawase for Mitsuba. While it's unclear exactly what lead AidaIro to give the twins 11/25 as a birthday, many fans celebrated "Yugi Day" on the 25th of the month before the birthday reveal (because 25 is goroawase for twins) and so it would be a nice nod to the community and also just a good pun in general.

One thing that is interesting about Mitsuba is we kind of know his death date? It was in December of 2014. Anyway, depending on his birthday, he could have died at either 13 or 14. Definitely something worth considering, but as of right now, I don't think we know the age he died at. Mitsuba is kind of little though, I guess? So I wouldn't be surprised if he died at thirteen... (that would also place him at the same age as Tsukasa when he died!)

Anyway, I don't really have any other good micro holidays for Mitsuba, but I would bet good money that there is a 3 somewhere in his birthdate. ☘️

Mitsuba's Mom

You know what's better than having a funny birthdate? Having a funny deathdate! (Sorry, not to make this entirely about her dead son or anything, but we quite literally are calling her Mitsuba's Mom instead of her actual name, so...)

Anyway, in case you forgot, he died on her birthday.

Unfortunately, I can't really find a good micro holiday for this...so I will have to rely on another crutch.

The day that Tsukasa sacrificed himself was an "unlucky day". To keep this brief, there is a superstition that some days are luckier than others in Japan. There are six different types of days which each hold different types of luck... So basically, I want to find another unlucky day in December 2014 for her birthday!

Since it repeats roughly every six days, we have a few options. We're specifically looking for days marked with 仏滅.

Out of these options... well, I personally like December 4? Eh, I dunno. I really wish there was an inauspicious date with a 3 in it, but we have to deal with the cards we're dealt...

Kou

Since Kou greatly resembles his ancestor, Yorimitsu, and was likely named after him, I really like the idea that his birthday is also linked to him.

Unfortunately we have no exact birthdate for Yorimitsu, but we do have his death date, which was August 28 (or July 19 in the old calendar.)

I don't hate either of these birthdays for him! Sadly this would mean that we already passed his birthday, but Kou just screams "summer baby" to me, you know? Sweet sunshine child, etc...

Anyway, I'm admittedly not that well-versed in western zodiac, so I've been kind of avoiding it, but Kou likes lions and Leo season is July 23 to August 22 so if not the above dates I think something within that timeframe works for him. 🦁

So that's it! Maybe in the future I'll make up more headcanons, but for now, I can't really think of any other character birthdays that I have a strong opinion on. I would be very interested to hear your own headcanons, though, especially if you have a good reason for them! And here's hoping AidaIro actually reveal them in the future. ^^;

the girl's bathroom was sunlit and warm, as warm as hanako felt when you greeted him.

even a simple 'happy birthday' from you was already okay for him, but with donuts too ?! hanako felt so, happy.

"a-ah! [name]?! you got this for me?" he questioned while you nodded a yes with a smile, pushing the box further into him in hopes that he would finally accept it.

"yes! just for you, since it's your special day after all." you answered him.

he finally accepted the box, fuzzy feelings felt in his heart. you remembered his birthday and spent it with him..

"thank you.." hanako said while lowering his hat, attempting to cover his reddening face.

taking notice of this, you giggle. "no problem! i need to get going now, happy birthday again!" you said while going out the bathroom, flashing one more smile leaving hanako speechless.

he wishes for more memorable moments with you.

extra: behind the door of the bathroom, kou and nene were hiding and once you came out you immediately told them everything that happened. except you weren't being secret at all. your voice could clearly be heard by hanako.

"happy birthda— mmf!" your greeting was cut off by tsukasa immediately hugging you so tight, you were losing air!

you quickly pushed him off, catching some air while tsukasa stood there quite confused.

"h-happy birthday, i hope you enjoy your day and please, don't hug do tight." you greeted him with a tired smile. "awh! but i wanna hug you tight! so you won't go away!" he whined

"why would i ever go away? i'll always be here for you." you giggled while embracing him once more in your arms.

buutt, he still hugged you quite tightly, softer than before.

it was evident he would never want to lose you.

Could you explain how the new gacha works? It seems to include old lims but can you pick which are rate up?

Sorry for the late reply on this, basically no information on the gacha was given until today.

The Recollection Fes gacha is indeed free but you can also use paid crystals, and pity system works the exact same as regular gacha, with the exception that it extends to 200, so you need 400 regular pulls for the highest pity bonus.

You also get to select some cards, like dream pick or select list gachas. They're not guaranteed to be obtained, but they come into play on the pity system... At 300 and 400 pulls.

You do get rewards for every 10 bonus on the pity system, which is better than regular gacha. Aside from bonus 50/100/150/200, you will get 50 wish pieces for every 10 gacha bonus. On 50 bonus (100 regular pulls) you get a permanent 4* you do not already have. On 100 bonus (200 regular pulls) you will get an unobtained limited or colofes 4*, on 150 bonus you get a selected permanent 4*, and on 200 bonus you get a selected limited or colofes 4*. Limited cards are not only guaranteed by pity though, and are in the gacha pool normally, it's just random as to what cards if any you get, like any other gacha.

The cards that will be available are perm cards from a year or more before this gacha, colofes cards from 2 or more years before this gacha, and limited cards that have been rerun twice or more over 3 months before this gacha. No birthday, collab or WLE cards. I.e:

Not to worry though, RecoFes WILL be held again much like Select List and Fes gachas etc, though we don't have a schedule yet. My guess is not too frequently, maybe like every 6 months.

Lastly, 4* drop rate on this gacha will be doubled (like fes)!! Honestly it's a pretty good deal if you're not worried about throwing away all your gems 1 month before the anniversary dream pick gacha, but if you're an EN player you've got a year to prep and make your decision so it's not as bad. Also the gacha only lasts from tomorrow until September 1st so keep that in mind.

You knew this man liked sweets, so you settled on some basic vanilla cake with sweet icing! You'll figure the design in the process, right?

Using the fact your boyfriend is asleep, you quickly got all the ingredients, determined to make it a sweet surprise for him~ The process surely wasn't easy, especially with the thought he might wake up if you're too loud at the back of your head... but you know weren't about to let it discourage you!

im going to be Honest and Admit that i only started shipping it out of spite but as i got more into the game and more into vbs i like. Really fucking appreciate it. Very much. i WILL SAY THOUGH I honestly don't mind consuming it on a platonic context either i JUST REALLY LIKE THE TWO OF THEM

I really appreciate the subtle shows of their care for eachother, akito noticing that something is off with her, an going Specifically TO akito and miku in. in wtwg i believe (i could be remembering this wrong) and in turn an, although she does like to tease him a lot, believes in his ability to contribute to the team and. IDK. THEY CARE ABOUT EACHOTHER!!! THERE IS SO MUCH. LOVE. in their hearts. An made him a cheesecake for his birthday. akito notices she looks tired lately and tells her not to push it. i want to complain about people boiling their relationship down to .. wlw mlm hostility and completely removing any notion that they like eachother . BUT THIS IS A POST ABOUT APPRECAITION SO IWONT TALK ABOUT IT.

even just. like. Vocal wise. their voices go so so well together. Traffic jam is one of my favorite vbs covers. i love the akian rap in it. I love their dynamic . I don't really have. 2. Mizumafu

Its such a travesty that i have not written them yet but they are the dynamic i go batshit insane over. The Parallels. the. The Difference in. In how they mask. Their hearts. Their kindness. Its so similar. to eachother. mafuyus little "i havent seen you in a while... im glad" with her little smile. Mizuki saying that it'd just be the four of them at scramble fan festa so mafuyu wouldnt have to mask the entire time i fucking LOVE them

even like on a surface level theyre so freaking cute. girl whos like :D and guy whos like o_o (I love it when they transmasc mafuyu its wonderful) I just love them so terribly. I need them to hug i need them. to kiss eachother maybe.

In terms of what i wantfor them down the line... i'd love to see a sort of thing after ena5 maybe where. Mizukis not been to school in a WHILE and has a lot of stuff to catch up on so mafuyu sits with her and helps her. and mizukis like. kind of low energy but mafuyu doenst question it, just lets her sit there, just helps her with the equations a bit. mafuyu chan. I love them

GOD WHERE DO I EVEN BEGIN. WITH THEM? I think i actually started liking them a while ago by proxy because i had a Friend who liked it.. i dont remember much but it was jun22 (july?) that i got into pjsk and right off the bat i really liked them. and then i got more into it and i liked them even more.

Their dynamic... i've always been a sucker for. "i'd die for you" x "Please live for me" . i love it terribly. I LOVE HOW INTRICATE IT IS i could go on forever about it. actually i am going to. sorry buckle the fuck up

I feel like ... i feel like a lot of Nene's attitude. toward everyone near the beginning of the wxs story. And toward herself really. It's just a big. Culmination of self hatred. She hates herself because she can't even talk to anyone without shaking, can't go on stage, lets people down... and she's bitter toward Rui because she hated that she couldn't do anything about their relationship. Letting people down.

i wanna draw attention to the way she talks about him near the beginning vs after her talk with tsukasa:

Do you see the difference? "he just has to try it out. people avoid him. heres the things hes done" vs "he gets absorbed in his work, and he's alone but i dont think he wants that". One is pointed, the other is sympathetic.

DO I THINK NENE HATES RUI. NO. But that's the thing with her. Her self hatred. she projects it onto others. Like in smile of a dreamer when she snapped at Tsukasa. And rui knows this behavior because he's immediately like "oh you must be worried about emu". because she didnt know what to do.

But then they grow together, and nenes attitude toward herself becomes kinder, and gradually her problems can be shared with them and it all just. becomes better. They Grow. And that's what i love about them. Rui "i've never seen nene shine like that before" kamishiro. Nene "i like your shows" kusanagi. I just i love them so much.

Ruinene i also consume both platonically and romantically but with like. a veer toward romantic. the way i write them is like if theyre dating but i rarely ever establish that fact (like i'll never have them outright say it) unless i'm writing with Explicit Polysho. I jjust. I love them so bad. I write the most for them i. draw the most for them. I love them.

in terms of what i want for future events WELL NENE5 IS LITERALLY RIIIIGHT AROUND THE CORNER and i i OUGH i do want rui to give a little help to her. i want rui to be there for her again. maybe a bit more forward this time because nene might go "oh i should handle this by mself" when shes in need ofhelp. Lalala. God save us all

Fan translation (Tsukasa's Number 3 Fan)

Part 1: Two weeks before Rui's birthday, Tsukasa calls Emu and Nene over to help him clean up props, leaving Rui to put something else away. Miku and Len approach him to ask if there's anything he wants to do for his birthday. Rui notices his troupemates "hiding", so he tells Len about his dream of inviting friends over to his house. He also teases the others for their poor execution of "Operation Eavesdrop and Prop Cleanup". The others are surprised about the simplicity of Rui's request. The night of Rui's birthday, Mizuki texts him a happy birthday right as midnight hits. Then, during the afternoon, the rest of his troupe and the Virtual Singers all come over to his garage to party.

Part 2: Rui blows out the candles on his cake. Then, they all play Cookie Kart, a racing game with a baking theme. Emu ended up winning the first tournament, but they all decided to keep playing for a little longer. Rui reflects on how nice it is to finally have friends to celebrate his birthday with.

Kohane thanked Rui for the show they'd put on for her own birthday, while An, Akito and Toya wished Rui a fun birthday party. Mizuki commented on how much Rui's changed thanks to Tsukasa. Tsukasa, Emu, and Nene thanked Rui for the fun Cookie Kart tournament. They let him know that they'll always be there if he wants more.

Rui thanks you for celebrating his birthday. He hopes to do more like this in the future.

I headcanon that nene is gray romantic and ichika as romance neutral aromantic, and that they're dating like where they kiss and go on dates and stuff. Nene has romantic feelings for ichika. ichika doesn't reciprocate the romantic feelings, but is more than open to a relationship with nene and dating her and doing romantic things for the emotional closeness.
