Some shelter cat Darnell doodles! Basically a summary of his time as a shelter cat.

Darnell was being treated for severe burns after an abandoned shed he was staying in caught on fire. He was given a life expectancy by the vets after the fact (mind you, he's barely over a year old at this point). But it doesn't end there when a thief breaks in and steals a bunch of animals at the shelter, Darnell included.

And if his neighbor looks a little familiar, he is! It's BF, since he's practically been a shelter cat as far as he can remember. He's been returned at least 8 separate times because of his rather energetic personality and tendencies to claw up furniture.

This is important because they initially were both about to get stolen, but BF escaped. And instead of helping Darnell escape as well, despite him pleading for help as he was being taken, BF ran away. Darnell did escape eventually, but not without a shaken view on trust and being a reliable person.

The two of them don't see eye to eye a lot of the time, having two different perspectives on certain events and how to go on about it. However. They still care about each other a lot and are often fussing over each other out of concern, which leads to them butting heads a lot of the time.

So they bicker a lot, but it's all in genuine care and it comes from a good place. Only sometimes those intentions don't shine through in the most obvious ways.

btw this is fnf timeline. before then was an entirely whole other can of worms and was endlessly more complicated.
