Intro (so y'all know who I am lolz)

Hi! Simply titled "Callisto", it's about a young demigod prince who must join forces with his friends to help control Earth's population and save their home from the multiple magical forces that threaten it. (so far I've barely progressed but I've got a few ideas that just need to be executed properly). Lastly, my birthday is on July 29

Writing Request: When the Hexsquad goes through the door to the Human Realm instead of going to Gravesfield, Connecticut they end up in Arcadia Oaks, California.

Happy Birthday to the 3 people who will understand this. Obv. this takes place in the best timeline, where That Movie didn't occur and Bellroc and Skrael were defeated in some other way.

“Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy… Claire! Claire Nunez, my greatest student, who very much only makes portals when she means to…”

Claire eyed Douxie. “What?”

“Yoooooouuuuuuuuuuuuu didn’t happen to bring them here, did you?”

Claire peered around her mentor and at the group of roughed up teens behind him. “…What?! Douxie, what did you do?!”

“Nothing! I didn’t do anything! I just found them! Wandering around, asking where they were! They were talking about a portal, so I figured… well, you’re our resident portal expert, aren’t you?”

“You sound kind of like my uncle,” one of them piped up, eyeing Douxie. Claire took another glance at him, then almost wished she hadn’t. Those eyes were creepy.

Douxie grinned at him. “Well, hey, mayyyybe… we’re related! Eh?”

“You don’t want to be part of our family,” he responded flatly.

“Oh. Okay.”

“It’s the accent,” the girl in the letterman piped up softly, “You don’t actually…”

Douxie smacked his forehead. “Oh! Right, introductions. Everyone, this is Claire Nunez, our magic portal person. Claire, this is Luz, Amity, Willow, Hunter aaaaaand Gus.” He pointed to each of them in turn.

“Portal person?” Luz echoed, “But—you’re human, right?”

“As far as I’m aware.” Claire studied the other kids more closely. Luz looked pretty human herself. Most of them did, besides the pointy ears. She could see Amity and Hunter being something else, and she tilted her head at Douxie. “So, are they changelings, or…?”

Hunter flinched at that, but Douxie shook his head. “They’re… sort of from another dimension? I know that’s not exaaaaactly your cup of tea, but I was hoping maybe you could use their emotional connection to make a portal?”

“I—does it even work that way, Douxie? I’m usually using my emotions as an anchor, not someone else’s. What if it goes wrong? If they’re from another dimension, how is their magic going to mix with ours? I’m assuming they’re magic, right? What if—”

Luz stepped forward. “Douxie said you were his student, right? He’s your mentor?”

“Yeah.” Claire socked him gently on the arm. “Best teacher on the planet. Taught me all the magic I know.”

Luz’s eyes welled up. “And if Douxie were caught somewhere with the most dangerous being on the planet, who could tear apart and reacreate worlds without a second thought, you’d do anything in your power to get to him, to save him, wouldn’t you?”

Bellroc. Skrael. “Of course I would.”

Luz took her hands. “I have a teacher, and a kid who is like a younger brother to me that are on the Boiling Isles right now,” she said in a choked voice, “They’re probably alone, and my teacher doesn’t know if I’m okay, and I don’t know if she’s okay, and the last I saw her she wasn’t, and I have no idea what is going on. I will take any risk to get back to the two of them right now.”

“You have a little brother trapped there?” Claire whispered. She kept ahold of one of Luz’s hands, detangling the other. “I can try. Think of home. Feel for it. All that fear for your mentor, for your brother, keep it. Hold onto it.”

Claire held her hand out. Come on. Come on, she has a little brother.

But nothing happened. Claire dropped Luz’s hand with a sigh. “I’m sorry. I… I’m pretty sure the shadow portals are a this-dimension only sort of thing. Have you asked Krel for help, yet?”

“No, I didn’t, great plan, Claire! Alright, you lot, come on. There’s someone else I’d like you to meet.”

Xxx

Krel Tarron spun around in a chair, fingers tapping against his knee incessantly. “Another dimension, huh? Don’t suppose you know what kind of tech was used to build the portal?”

Luz shook her head. “It was mostly ingredients from the other world. The original builder of the portal, Phillip Wittebane—” the name tasted sour in her mouth name, and she practically spit it out. “—had outside help, but… I don’t know how he got it to work.”

Douxie startled behind her. “Phillip Wittebane? Is he still kicking?!

“You knew him?” Luz yelped.

“That little twat tried to get me hung for witchcraft! I mean, he was right, I am a magician, but yeesh, you try to show a kid a neat trick and suddenly the whole town’s chasing you down.”

“Yeah, he… didn’t change when he got older.”

Douxie shook his head. “Geeze… as bad as Matthew Hopkins, and only a tyke. I hate to think what he’s like now.”

“Hello?” Krel asked, waving his hand, “Can we get back to the problem at hand? We’re trying to cross dimensions? Thank you. Between the—the frogs in LA and this, it seems like there’s been an awful lot of dimension hopping happening recently. A thinning in a barrier somehow? Whatever the case, now is probably the ideal time for figuring out how to do it consistently. You had a portal, yes? It was powered by a source from the other realm? We have power sources here, as well. I don’t know how well your magic will blend with my tech, but there haven’t been too many issues with our magic and tech so far, if the two are ANYTHING alike, this shouldn’t take long. Someone who can do magic, stick around. The rest of you can… I don’t know, just try not to get in my way.”

Amity raised a hand, and Luz wandered outside with a sigh, plopping down at the edge of the pool and dangling her feet in. The door opened and closed, and Douxie lowered himself next to her. “Hey.”

“Hey,” she mumbled. She laughed joylessly. “You know, a few months ago? I would have been ecstatic to find out this place existed. Chosen ones? Magic amulets? Brave witches, beautiful magic creatures, adventure? I would have wanted to stay here forever.” Luz crossed her arms, resting them on her knees. “Now I would give anything to be in a place that’s the complete opposite of this.”

“Well, it’s not all pretty flowers here,” Douxie chuckled, “It has it’s fair share of—well—disgusting—but… it’s home. Like I’m sure the Isles are to you.” He skimmed the water with his feet. “I… had a mentor, too. And I was separated from him, he went into an enchanted sleep, and there was nothing I could do to wake him up. I just had to wait. But he did wake up. And we did find each other again.”

“How long did that take?”

“Oh, nine hundred years, give or take a few.”

“What?!”

“I’m sure it won’t be that long for you!” he said hastily, “All I meant to say, is… you’ll see her again. I’m sure of it.”

“Hm.”

“Well,” Krel’s voice said from behind them, nearly startling Luz into the pool, “I don’t think it’ll take so long as nine hundred years, but I can say with absolute certainty that your magic is nothing like his magic, and it’s going to take a while to figure out.” He wiped abomination goop off of his face. “Luckily, I have plenty to work with, and luckily, I’m probably the smartest person on the planet, so! You’re in good hands. Four of them.”

Douxie stood up, offering Luz a hand. “Do you have somewhere to stay?”

“I… well… I could go home, with my mom, but… it’s sort of across the country.”

“Right, then. Let’s exchange numbers, and Claire will have you over to your mum’s in a jiffy. If Krel makes any progress, you’ll be the first to know.” Douxie bumped her shoulder. “Don’t you worry, Luz Noceda. We’re going to get you and your friends right back. Ah—how worried should we be about that world-tearing-apart creature?”

Luz winced. “Just… don’t keep any portals you make open for too long.”

“Right. That doesn’t sound ominous at all.”

“Thank you, Douxie.”

“Any time, Lady Luz. Just give us a ring.”

at this point he’s just kinda meh about the whole thing. he is 900-something after all

well mainly he’s over the “getting older” thing

now having a free pass at being an attention whore? that’s another story

it’s Everyone Has To Be Nice To Hisirdoux Day, how could he not be into that?

tbh his birthday was one of the few times he could get merlin’s full attention for like, at least a few hours. douxie had to milk his birthday for all it was worth back in camelot. now it’s a habit

doux doesn’t ask for much usually, so of course you’re happy to encourage this behavior and indulge him

a warm cuppa with too much sugar thrust into his hands the moment he wakes up, archie rubbing against his legs as he stumbles over to the table, special breakfast of his favorite sweet rolls and orange marmalade, a kiss pressed to his sleepy lips, douxie’s birthday mornings are sweet

he insists on still working, however. douxie’s inherited merlin’s work ethic, helps that the devil never did let douxie off work on his birthday either

you try your best to elevate his workload in the bookstore without him noticing

but but,, birthday kisses

you’ve told doux how it’s tradition to give him as many kisses as he is years old

he’s over 900. you’re never able actually manage to make it to your goal but you can damn well try

tbh it’s just an excuse to give doux as many kisses as he wants

which is a lot. he wants a lot.

“good afternoon gdt arcane shoppers, it is my pleasure to announce that it is our dear owner and proprietor mr. douxie casperan’s birthday today. if you see him go ahead and wish him well. meow meow meeoow. thank you for those kind words archie. 🎶 we love you douxie happy birthday douxie 🎶”

he was a tomato. so many customers shook his hand that day. embarrassing

y’all are usually one and done with the pranks however, douxie can relax after it inevitably happens. don’t wanna give him a heart attack after all, he is 900ish

once upon a birthday, his band had taken him out to celebrate

you got up to go to the bathroom. no biggy. douxie thought nothing of it

it was the weekend after his birthday. you had already done the birthday prank. he thought he was safe

now when zoe took out her phone and started pointing it towards him. that’s when he knew

he tried to escape, he really did. but as soon as he started standing up his bandmate to the left of him pushed him right back down into his chair. fuzzbuckets you guys are ganging up on him

the waiters were inching ever so closer to him, cake in hand, menacingly, like a pride of lions. doux chugged his beer

you returned to his side sporting a sly grin. he flashed his own gritted teeth to show you he was Not finding this funny. you just patted his back, the look in your eyes unfeeling, unyielding, evil

the waiters arrived

before doux knew it he had a silly hat on his head, a cake in front of him lighting up his scowl with sparklers, and a crowd singing a terrible bubbly royalty-free song

the video zoe took was posted to the band’s insta, attracting all sorts of well wishes from fans

douxie made a comical effort not to talk to any of you for the rest of the evening, even though this restaurant was only the first stop on the night’s festivities

he only made it a little over half an hour

especially with you. it’s entirely impossible for him to not talk to you

he had a enjoyable rest of the night, despite the mean prank y’all pulled on him

after all the excitement he’s had lately with keeping nari safe, doux just wants some quiet

doux decides on movie night with a black and white movie he remembers seeing in a theater on his birthday way back when

cuddled up with the gang on the couch, wearing the scarf you helped nari knit for him even though he’s indoors, doux feels pretty content

maybe this year you’ll get ever so closer to making the kiss goal

Tales of Arcadia fanfic recommendations part 7

It’s time for yet another round of recommendations! In this batch is the 80+ Rise of the Titans fics I read as part of the fanfic analysis which have their own section with Tales of Arcadia (Aka the TV part of the franchise) merged into one for ease sake. I’m currently on a bit of an older content binge on behest of someone which is giving me a break from RotT burnout, a few of which are on this list and the rest is already spilling into part 8 sitting in my drafts.

Tales of Arcadia

A Thousand Years - A series of oneshots following the lives of Douxie and Zoe through the ages including some good old Zouxie fluff.

A Night Off; Comfort Zoe Night - Exactly as it says this is a bout of shameless Zouxie fluff because sometimes you have a bad day and there’s somebody who can treat you to a much nicer evening.

of poison, forest floors, and terrified wizards - It was just a simple errand for Merlin, one he’d done hundreds of times before so there was no reason to wake Archie from his nap and thus Hisirdoux Casperan went off alone. Even in his worst nightmares he couldn’t have expected being struck with poison designed to take out magic users.

Primordial Awakenings - We build our creations from the dead, give them names, offer them power then put them amongst the stars until we forget there was ever a before because the stories have already made them eternal. A delightful take on how the Order as we know might have come to be because sometimes you wonder what if they were birthed in the prehistoric?

Primordial Awakenings — Deleted Scenes - In case you need more content from the above :) This does contain Order ships of various directions.

Already Seen - Easy peasy, lemon squeezy Douxie is caught in the D'aja Vu as well and tries to figure out what the heck is causing it. Contains a little bit of Zouxie fluff.

Mama Bear - It is after Jim’s battle with Draal when Barbara catches sight of numerous bruises covering her son and along with all the other out of character incidents totting up of late naturally she thinks the worst.

Across the Stars - With Zadra now on earth and far away from home, she and Izita snatch the moments they can to to talk to one another. Zadita? Izadra? Genuinely no idea what the shorthand for the ship is.

Reading Wingman - Even the most experienced trolls can get caught out sometimes and in this case AAARRRGGHH shelters in the library. Adorable ensues.

Happy Birthday - Post Trollhunters season 3, everyone deserves a special treat on the anniversary of one of the worst days of your life and that includes Trollhunters.

heavy - Jim might have escaped the Darklands in body but the trauma continues to pursue through not only nightmares but all the way into the waking world too.

from now on - Post Trollhunters season 3, it was hard for Toby he and AAARRGGHH had been left behind but they try to struggle on anyway all the while counting down the days until their friends to come home.

Rise of the Titans

Unbecoming 2 Electric Boogaloo - There are always prices to pay and consequences for wanting to do the right thing if you choose to embrace selfishness instead of logic. You went too far back Jim Lake Jr., you were warned and the cold rush of reality is watching just out of sight to show you why.

Unlikely Places - They managed to stop the Titans with no losses despite it being very close leaving the Order in the very odd position of wrapping their heads around the After. For one former resident of Durio he’s about to find out just how they’re handling things first hand.

Tales of Arcadia: In Search of Home- After using diplomacy with a chance to right the wrongs of the world to bring Skrael on board he and Nari in turn offer the same to Bellroc . This leaves one Hisirdoux Casperan with two additional roommates, trying to make everyone comfortable as they experience new and fancy human things like pasta, earning your keep and the wonders of freezers.

A Better World - After jumping back in time Jim uses his prior knowledge to help nudge things in this timeline for the better with advice and jokes but always keeps the most precious (And painful) close to his chest. Sitting on the roof together one night Toby muses about this strange yet incredible life he’s led so far and what his best friend might have been through in his old one.

Time is a Fickle Thing... - When Jim used the time stone to go back he expected to wake up in his bed on the very same day he’d become the Trollhunter. Instead he awoke in the middle of the nearby woods little more than an observer of his 15 year old self armed with knowledge of the future and the determination to nudge the timeline for the better. This is of course assuming the second hand embarrassment doesn’t kill him first.

Minds are Troubled By The Emptiness - An epilogue for Nancy “Nana” Domzalski in a timeline that was not reset.

Tales of Arcadia: The Final Becoming - A complete rewrite of Rise of the Titans lets fucking go.

Lifting Atlas - It would be unwise to go back in time without a plan so one is cobbled together involving contacting Douxie as soon as possible, bring him on board and try to right the mistakes of the past to save everyone they lost. The trouble is you can’t run from the trauma that led to your best friend dying before your eyes, not even with time travel.

Content warning for the first chapter: There is mention of previous sexual assault and suicide that does not have an in fic warning nor is it tagged. It is mentioned during Jim’s conversation with Douxie and a second time in a vague way after the time jump when they meet up.

Stricklake

Without you there is no world - A oneshot series for Stricklake month following a range of themes from excellent sci-fi worldbuilding, dabbling in one of the author’s AUs, the perils of gravesand and closing with a rather well deserved dig at THAT scene from RotT.

stricklake month...2!!! - Do you want Stricklake that borders on domestic in a range of circumstances including big brother Jim? WELL.

Darling Play Your Violin - There is a saying that history repeats it’s self and it is certainly true for those who live long enough to feel it’s echoes. Sometimes you are given a second chance which turns bittersweet while another will be met with mirth but at least at the end of it all you can say you tried.

To family - Seeking to propose to Barbara, Strickler decides to ask someone dear to them both for permission due to their incredibly complicated background. A trio of toddlers act as witnesses oblivious to their big brother’s sass and plotting.

Parent conference day - Set post RotT, some memories are lingering in the form of dreams that once were, it just takes a chance encounter to start bringing sense to them.

Stricklake Baggage Babeyyyyyy - Walter Strickler is not an innocent changeling which is something Barbara is well aware of. The problem is sooner or later the question has to be asked no matter how scared you are of the reply: Did you kill Principal Levit?

Alternate Universe

"I'll Still be Here." - Once more falling into the “This isn’t technically AU but it doesn’t feel right to put it elsewhere somehow??” issue. Well before two boys will find an Amulet in the canals this is a reminder of how loved ones can be the best thing when anxiety brain gets ideas. Autistic Toby with a side order of Joby/Hammerhunter.

Daddy Issues - So Bular accidentally ended up adopting teeny Jim and it’s adorable.

The End Is the Beginning Is the End - After what should have been a fatal car accident Barbara is offered a choice: Perish or live by trading whatever her saviour decides. She might have thought it was the delusions of a dying mind but the consequences do not agree.

A Brief Reliving of Troll Lore - Camelot has gained unexpected time travelers darkening their doors except this is set in the 7th century and the journey home is going to be a whole lot rougher with survival just as important as preventing history being screwed up. This is a Jim centric fic.

I was tagged by the ever so lovely @officalroyalsofpierreland and @trentonsimblr (So sorry that I’m just now getting to this) and I’m going to tag anyone who wants to do it!

I’m very fond of Douxie right now, and he’s still of a box full of questions, so I’ll do him!

1) What is your favorite sport?

I’m not very much into sports actually. If I have the time, I do enjoy going down to the pool and swimming laps.

2) What is your favorite color?

To be quite honest, I’m not sure. I’m very fond of green and light blue for reasons I’m not quite sure I understand, but I do tend to wear black more than anything.

3) What is your favorite movie?

Growing up my favorite movie was The Sleeping Princess (old, but one of my mothers’s favorites) but as of right now... I’m not quite sure to be honest. I think the last movie I watched was at a premiere for work.

4) Taken? Single?

Taken. Very much taken by Ana. You could say that I’m... taken for life?

5) What would be your perfect day?

No work. No filming. No press events. No press tours. A breakfast at the local cafe that I’ve been dying to go to. Take Annie out. Go for a walk together. See a movie. Take her to a fancy restaurant for dinner. Grab some ice cream. Very simple, I feel.

6) Are you a night owl or an early bird?

Oh, how I would love to be a night owl. Unfortunately, my schedule at the moment doesn’t allow for me to be a night owl, so I am an early bird.

7) Do you think you're smart?

Heavens no. I barely managed to graduate high school on time. My mothers think I am, but they’re the ones who had to watch me struggle through nearly 13 years of math class.

10) How do you like to be comforted when you are sad?

Chocolates help. And hugs. Great big hugs never hurt.

11) Where do you want to be in 5 years time?

Standing at the end of the aisle at the very least. At the most? I personally wouldn’t be opposed to some tiny little ones running around.

12) Do you have any regrets?

Not meeting Annie again sooner.

13) Who are/is your best friend(s)?

My dearest friend is Cody. We’ve known each other for ages and talk quite often. Our schedules are often very contradictory so we don’t see each other face to face very often, but we have a very good time when we do.

14) What was your dream last night?

A very good one.

15) Who in your family are you closest to?

My mothers, without question. They’ve seen me through highs and lows and I honestly don’t know what I would do without them.

16) What is one thing people don't know about you?

There’s actually a third tattoo..., it’s just hidden out of sight. It has a very important meaning to me though, which is why I got it.

17) Best present ever given to you?

I’m not sure. Annie did get me a signed copy of my favorite book last Winterfest (Watcher knows how she managed to do that, the author’s been with the Reaper for at least 30 years now), so that’s one of them I’d have to say.

18) What is your favorite food?

Any food made by my Maman. She’s an excellent chef and anytime I’m home for dinner, is completely and utterly worth it.

19) Earliest childhood memory?

My cousin being a complete bully to me.

20) Do you have a crush?

I always have a crush on Annie.

21) If you could live in a different period, which one would it be?

I’m rather content in this time period. The fashion of the 17th century is nice, but I’d rather stay here. Those coats look hot.

22) Any nicknames?

Douxie. Doux’. One of my little cousins once called me Hisi while trying to get my attention and that’s certainly a nickname I am not fond of.

23) Introvert or Extrovert?

A combination really. Some days I’m an introvert, some days I’m an extrovert. It depends on what’s happening.

24) Favourite book?

The End of the Beginning by Sarah Laurite. It’s my favourite book series.

25) Hobby?

Playing guitar, mostly. I haven’t been able to find the time for it, but perhaps one of these days I’ll surprise Ana with a guitar song. Perhaps.

26) Beach or pool?

I haven’t gone to the beach in ages! I’m not a fan of sand, but I do enjoy going down to the pool when I can.

27) First kiss?

Yes. For privacy’s sake, I won’t share who it was, but I was 12? Maybe 11?

Art was always my favorite subject in school. That or theatre classes when I got to high school.

I do desperately miss my late grandmother. She passed away when I was fairly young and I would have loved the opportunity to spend more time with her.

On set-school mostly, in conjuction with the Nimben School of the Arts in downtown Bilchester. Growing up I went to Hartford Primary before I was cast.

Still anything made by my Maman, but also Ana’s baked sweets.

Yes. 3. And more planned.

Heavens no.

Being adopted by my mothers and being able to have such a loving family and girlfriend.

1. Jacen Syndulla Sketch Dump #1 (January 25, 2020)

The first of 5 massive sketch dumps for Jacen Syndulla. I used so...many...references... but it really helped me figure out my colors, shadows, and anatomy, plus I got really good at drawing hair even if his nose is different in every other panel. Plus, it’s just fun to have a little more Jacen out there since SW hasn’t given us any crumbs to go off of for like... 3 years.

2. She-Ra Mini-Comic (May 29, 2020)

Right after She-Ra ended, I had this idea/ dream about Queen Angela and time travel, plus I like drawing Hordak, and thus this comic was born! It was well received which made me SUPER happy, plus I did all of the backgrounds from scratch which is something I usually Frankenstein together, so I am especially proud of that.

3. Keston John’s “Kiss the Girl” Hordak Animatic (June 21, 2020)

Still running high on She-Ra finale fumes, I discovered Hordak’s voice actor, Keston John, had a Youtube page where he sang a few songs from the Little Mermaid. Well... my Entrapdak shipper ears heard a great animatic video, and thus weeks of drawing frame by frame on a Photoshop timeline ensued! I spent so long making this, and it was also well-received making it all worth it! I love how complimentary She-ra style is to my style and I was able to play with so many hairstyles for the clones! This was my first-ever music animation and will always have a special place in my heart! (Plus I posted it the day before my birthday, so reading all the tags and comments the next day was really nice!)

4. Relaxing Beach Day (July 17, 2020)

After the Jacen Sketch Dumps did so well, I eventually ran out of ideas and asked some of my closest mutuals for more ideas. This is when @the-porg-apprentice mentioned a “beach day”. This was the first fanart I did with a new shadow/ light combo, and a color change over all the black lines. I was really proud how it turned out. I did a few more pieces like that, like the Tharin/Ezra piece and the Ash Dispersal Pattern band art.

5. “A Burden Worth Sharing” (August 26, 2020)

I wanted to include at least one fanfiction in this list, and I think my first Zouxie piece beats even the “Uncharted Stars TROS bonus story” because not only did it do REALLY well, but I received so many lovely comments, one even coming from Tenyai herself, which sent me on an adrenalin fueled stupor for all of work that Friday.

6. Douxie’s Scar, Mini-Comic (September 13, 2020)

The thousands of questions left inside me after watching Wizards sent me on a TOA binge HARDCORE! So hard in fact that I made an ENTIRE COMIC based on one theory I had on how Douxie got his scar, mixed with a line from the Trollhunter’s artbook (that I don’t even think made it into the show?). I tried a new style for this comic without using outlines at all, and I like how it turned out, even if I am not 100% sure I like how the text bubbles fit in. Adding text is like the worst thing I can do to myself and I usually never like how I do it!

7. The Hex (Tech) Girls (October 12, 2020)

Another wordplay correlation in my brain sent me on a days-long animatic project again in the Photoshop Timeline. This one got less views than I had hoped, but I still watch it from time to time and am still pretty proud of it given the limits I had with frame by frame and the fact I suck at drawing guitars. It gave me a lot of practice drawing Zoe at least, and that really came in handy for future projects.

8. Douxie’s Guitar (October 13, 2020)

Posted the literal day after the Hex (Tech) Girls animation, this one was mostly a joke and only took like an afternoon to draw, but it got over 300 notes! I think that is the most notes on any of my Wizards content so far? I was really proud of how they turned out given the simplicity of the doodles, and I especially liked that it was so well-received. It kind of shaped some of my sketch dumps after that and sometimes I stick to this style when I don’t feel like coloring.

Aww, thanks @alovesongshewrote for tagging me!!! I'm so excited to write this!!

…did you think would get a bigger reaction/audience than it got:

Definitely Homesick, it's a Zuko x reader and since it's a bigger fandom I though it would get a bigger reaction I guess. *shrugs* It did get a good amount of notes though, but they were mostly spread out so I guess it's more of like an underdog.

…is your funniest:

Ummmm, I can't think of one off the top of my head. I try to always include some humor in my fics. Though, I guess one of the funniest scenes I've written is way back in chapter 3 of fire keeper when Douxie out on Archie's glasses. I just thought that was really funny, but there's probably something I'm forgetting.

…is your darkest/angstiest:

Either Chapter 9 of Fire Keeper when the battle with Angie Rot happens or Chapter 12 when Jim has his trail and everything goes down. There's probably more, but these are the chapters that I put the angst warning on, so I would assume they're the angstiest?? Haha, just wait for chapter 21 though.

…is your absolute favorite:

A Gift, it really just makes me happy and I think it's cute. However, Fire Keeper as a big place in my heart b/c it's my first fic and I'm really proud of it!

…is your least favorite:

I can't say that I have a least favorite. I know I'm not a fantastic writer, but I'm really proud of myself and what I've written and I've never posted something that I'm not proud of.

…was the easiest to write:

Hands down A Gift. I was inspired by my own birthday and missing my family and I had the idea and I though it was gonna be a short oneshot, but it spiraled. It just flowed really easily and was probably the fastest fic I've ever written.

…was the hardest to write:

Probably Fire Keeper, I had pretty much no plans when I started. I saw that there were almost no dice for him and I had an idea so I thought I would just write it. I'm also struggling with it now b/c I've been busy and I haven't had the time to really get back into writing until today. It's also hard b/c it's my first fix and I'm about to finish it(even though I'll finish it when the movie comes out).

Also the headcannons for that Douxie request I got a while ago were hard b/c I had never written headcannons and for some reason I completely blanked on how to write a quirky reader.

…has your favorite line/exchange/paragraph (share it):

Honestly, there are so many scenes, but this one was the first that popped into my head:

As you turned and got your view of the second floor, you also got a view of a cat. Said cat just so happened to be wearing glasses.

"What in the world?" You mumbled, staring at the cat who was staring right back at you. It meowed, breaking eye contact and began to lick one of his paws.

You continued to stand there, frozen in confusion.

"Ah, Y/n. Hi," a certain English-accented boy said, breaking you out of your thoughts.

"Um, hi Douxie," you said, turning your focus to him. He seemed to notice your confusion and he looked around, his eyes landing on the cat.

"Oh, that's where my glasses went. I've been looking all over for them!" He laughed a nervous sounding laugh and took the glasses from the cat. Putting them on he said, “Anyways, how may I help you?”

You stood there, not saying anything for a few seconds longer. Douxie wearing glasses was an interesting sight and you had to admit he looked kinda cute.

“Um, I’m looking for old books,” you stated lamely. You didn’t really know what else to say. You weren’t really looking for any books in particular and you weren’t exactly expecting to find a book with magic, you were just hoping.

“Right this way.” Douxie motioned for you to follow him and he walked past you, rather slowly, down the stairs. He went to turn and rammed into the banister, almost falling down the rest of the stairs.

I always thought this was really funny and I love getting comments on this scene. It's not my best written scene, but I love it.

However, I did love writing the chapter where Strickler came over for dinner or the one where Y/n and Douxie go to Jim's school to get the goblin repellent in chapter 13. Also when Douxie and Y/n go to Bulgaria in chapter 14 and 14.5.

There's so many it's so hard to decide. If you want a list of a few of my favorite scenes go ahead and ask because there are so many and if love to go through them all!

…have you re-read the most:

A Gift b/c I like it so much or Fire Keeper b/c I have the worst memory when it comes to what I've writen. I'm always going back and rereading it. (I was scrolling through my fics just now and I don't remember chapter ten at all??? What happened in it??? The summary doesn't help at all)

…would you recommend to someone reading your work for the first time:

A Gift b/c it's what I'm most proud of or Fire Keeper b/c I've put so much effort in it and I love it when people read it. I'm also really proud of it so yeah.

…are you most proud of:

Once again, A Gift and Fire Keeper. I'm also pretty proud of The Fight. A Gift and The Fight are my two most popular and seeing all the notes really encourages me. It makes me proud to see that people are enjoying what I'm writing.

And if course there's Fire Keeper, it's my first fic and I just love it so much!

Tbh though I'm really proud of all my fics, I love writing them so much and yeah.

A Night Off; Comfort Zoe Night - Exactly as it says this is a bout of shameless Zouxie fluff because sometimes you have a bad day and there’s somebody who can treat you to a much nicer evening.

Primordial Awakenings — Deleted Scenes - In case you need more content from the above :) This does contain Order ships of various directions.

Already Seen - Easy peasy, lemon squeezy Douxie is caught in the D'aja Vu as well and tries to figure out what the heck is causing it. Contains a little bit of Zouxie fluff.

2020 Creator’s Self-Love Extravaganza!!

1. A Bond That Lasts Centuries

My Douxilly au fanfic inspired by @alovesongshewrote ‘s Almost A Thousand Years, it’s pretty much my first continuous fanfic that I am still working on for the next part (sorry, if I kept any of you waiting for it xD).

I was super inspired by AATY but was incredibly nervous about turning the au ramblings I came up with while reading the fic that I shared with friends into a fanfic, mostly from the fact that I might be accused of copying. But Lovesong and everyone in the Discord server as well as just my friends have been super sweet and supportive and I couldn’t be happier!

2. Douxilly Ship Art

Self explanatory, Douxilly has been my comfort ship from the start and has been my way of getting cute ship art and practicing drawing Douxie. I am extremely proud of the progress and improvement I made in said art and absolutely adore my wizard dorks, I’m also happy that so many of you seem to like them as well and enjoyed the warm reception!

3. Shadowmancy (Pre Wizards Douxilly Oneshot)

Ah, my second ever oneshot posted for not only Tumblr but for the ToA fandom in general.

I am super proud of this oneshot because it was my first time delving into trying to write more magic stuff, trying to describe magical and tense scenes, writing Merlin.

But it also gave me a chance to try delving more into writing a frustrated moppet Douxie, who is just determined and impatient, writing a more timid Illy who is....honestly naive when it comes to her affection and loyalty to Douxie. It also let me explore a line from Wizards that always peeked my interest when it came to Douxie’s past, “I never had the gift for Shadowmancy”,

Overall, I’m just really proud of this one.

4. Selena Lucia Rica

Granted, I only made one post about her but I am really proud about how she came out design wise and am working on developing her backstory right at this moment as well as making Zolena art!

I think what I loved most was how many of my friends from the Douxie server were so excited in helping me design our werewolf bab, it was honestly a group effort and it makes her all the more special! 5. Birthday Surprise (Pre Wizards Douxilly Oneshot)

The first oneshot I ever posted here and for the ToA fandom!

In all honesty, I just enjoyed how fluffy it is xD.

This was my first time attempting to write moppet Douxie and also trying to write his and past Illy’s friendship as well as her one sided affection for him. It was also my first time writing Archie, if I am not mistaken and I really wanted to give him and Illy a sibling like relationship.

I’m just proud of how fluffy this came out!

7. Happy Birthday Douxie! (Art and Oneshot)

Haha, I enjoyed making these,

Now, I won’t say they are my best work but I did immensely enjoy doing special things for my comfort wizard’s birthday! It was also just fun to work on birthday themed stuff so closely to my own birthday.

For the art, I would say it was great to get more practice drawing Nari and Archie, I really loved how they turned out and I can’t wait to draw them more. Oh! also the lighting, I’m still practicing but I was proud of how it turned out!

The oneshot, again, not my best but I loved getting to delve into Illy’s dynamic with Archie and Nari and giving them some special family bonding, trying to make Douxie a birthday cake. Plus, the chaos of it all was super fun!

8. Illyria Calypso

And last but certainly not least, Illy!

The very oc that began my journey on Tumblr and into joining this wonderful fandom!

I’d like to give a special thanks to my friend, @legendling for convincing me to create the lovable dork in the first place! Everyone, you can thank Leg! She is just a special oc to me, like many of my ocs, I enjoyed creating her and inserting her into the world of Tales of Arcadia and exploring her place in this world and in the lives of not only my comfort character, Douxie but also the other characters I adored so much from this series.

And the fact that so many of you loved her and instantly welcomed her existence makes me extremely happy, you guys are amazing and made me and Illy feel so welcomed in this space and I love you all!
