rewatched the entirety of tales of arcadia, 3 series and .... the movie..
and and i came across and idea somewhere i forgot where, of combining the httyd + Tao universes!
to be clear, i don't mean in a crossover where to franchises meet but the lore being combined into one universe ahah, so events in httyd still happened then idk years and years later toothless the king of dragons is still alive but ancient and has met the champion of arcadia, the trollhunter Jim!
It's been well, so long since his dragons have interacted with humans, so it was quite surprising to see one enter his secret home,
don't have much story or lore in it yet, it is just a fun thought for now, having toothless meet new ppl that remind him of his old friends
sometimes they resemble them a lil too much..
did i mention he talks here now? I dubious choice but idk, i think it would be fun

Prompt: Magic
The most responsible and valid use of magic, if you ask me. Douxie's really onto somethin here. I literally had the most boring interpretations on these prompts I'm so sorry 😭😭
This is the last prompt I'll be doing for Arcadiatober cause commissions came up and they chewed up my art time. Wasn't really planning to complete the full prompt list anyway, so it's all good. What matters is that I did some of them lol

Who's the best Kaiju and why's it Mothra?
To me, the best and greatest monster will always be Godzilla. However, Mothra is a pretty close second.
Mothra is unique among Toho’s menagerie of monster for two reasons.
1) She was the first explicitly female monster in the Toho series. Before Mothra, all the monsters were either not referred to with a gender or assumed to be males of their given species. It wouldn’t be until 28 years after Mothra’s 1961 debut that Toho would have another female monster in the form of Biollante.
2) She is more of a mystical creature than the other Toho Monsters. While Godzilla and his ilk are generally considered to be prehistoric creatures awakened and mutated by nuclear testing or creatures from space come to ravage the Earth, Mothra is different.
Yes, Infant Island was irradiated by nuclear testing but as shown in 1961′s Mothra and even more explicitly in 1984′s Godzilla vs. Mothra, that nuclear devastation was pretty well confined to the coastline while the interior was left relatively untouched. To me, this means that Mothra was protecting her island and the people who worship her.
Yes, she has worshipers. Lots of them.
Chief among them are, what we would assume to be her high priestesses. The Shobijin (or in later iterations the Elias, Cosmos or just the Fairies). These diminutive twins serve as her handmaidens and translators, speaking her will to others.
Somehow, this is also a familial position as in 2003′s Godzilla X Mothra X Mechagodzilla: Tokyo SOS there are new Shobijin who have inherited the role of the 1961 originals.
How this is possible is unexplained. Perhaps every now and then, tiny twins are born to regular Mothers under the influence of the will of Mothra. It’s a continuous cycle, as is Mothra herself.
Mothra seems to be locked in a cycle of perpetual death and rebirth, like some kind of Phoenix. The old Mothra lays an egg, sacrifices herself to protect her people/the world and a new Mothra is born. We see this over and over again in films like Mothra vs. Godzilla, Tokyo SOS and the Heisei Mothra trilogy.
Also part of that trilogy of films is the revelation that versions of Mothra have existed since before the rise of man, at least as far back as the Cretaceous Period. This further proves that she isn’t a radioactive mutant bug but something far older and more intimately linked to the Earth itself.
And then there are her powers. In addition to her physical abilities such as firing silk, creating gale force winds and being generally gigantic Mothra also has healing powers. We see them used a few times, most notably in the Mothra trilogy when she renews the natural world damaged by the resurrection of Death Ghidora. This makes Mothra a kind of Elder Goddess of Rebirth and Renewal, a balancing force to creatures like Godzilla or a counter to truly evil forces like King Ghidorah who are all about Destruction.
She’s like the perfect compliment to the King of the Monsters.
No matter the continuity, the movie or the creators Mothra always stands apart from the other monsters as something more benign, something protective and divine with a air of mysticism and magic about her that a world ravaged by the unintended consequences of science and progress pursued without conscience desperately needs.
Thanks for the Question!
