A/N: Happy Halloween everyone! This work is based off of @h3llw1’s request made a while ago that I felt fit perfectly with a good spooky special! I will tag the request! Please be responsible and have fun tonight and this weekend!
Find the original request for this story here!
“Wait, so… Who are you dressed up as, again?”
You shuffled the goggles off of your eyes, pushing them onto your forehead and messing into your hair, turning back to your friend.
“Toby Rogers- y’know, that kid who burned all those houses down? Serial killer, dude.” You smiled awkwardly, turning back to your vanity mirror and pressing the makeup brush against your cheek, trying to recreate the infamous cheek gash in the image you had pulled up. You were almost done, detailing the fake teeth at the corner of your lips. “Was really obsessed with him in middle school…”
“Oh, right.” Your roommate, Avery, rolled her eyes, curling the strands of her hair into big voluptuous rolls, making sure each piece looked nice under her hat. She was supposed to be Strawberry Shortcake, you think, it was hard to tell with how little she was wearing of the actual costume. It was really more of a bikini topped off with a strawberry hat.
“You’re still planning on going to AJ’s party, right?” She chirped, flipping the curling iron off and lying it on the counter, reaching back to grab her phone. You paused, giving yourself a once-over in the mirror- your costume really wasn’t the ‘AJ’s party’ type. You turned around in your chair, a little overwhelmed with how messy your bedroom floor was, but promising yourself you would clean it up later tonight.
“Uh, sure- If you guys are still going.” Avery tapped away at her phone, your own lighting up with text messages to your group chat sent by her. You were waiting on the rest of her friends, some people she had become close with in her classes.
It would be fun… you hoped.
“Oh, they’re here.” Stepping out of your room, you followed her to the front door, making sure your makeup looked good in the mirror. Standing on your front step, the rest of the group was there, chittering their excitement as Avery swung the door wide.
You stood awkwardly as they all hugged, complimenting each other on their matching costumes- the other two girls were supposed to be Orange Blossom and Blueberry Muffin, but they more or less matched with Avery’s.
They each had a guy with them, the tallest one wrapping his arm around your roommate’s shoulder, the Ghostface costume he had on making her all giggly. You cringed, fidgeting with the hem of the hoodie you had stitched to look like Toby’s, the stripes on your sleeves were the hardest part.
“Oh! This is my roommate [Y/N], she’s gonna come with us tonight.” You nodded, giving a small wave as they all turned to you. Brushing your hair behind your ear, they all smiled sweetly, but you could tell they were a little put off by the outfit you were wearing.
“Ah, what’re you dressed up as?” The Ghostface guy chuckled, shuffling his mask up to get a better look.
“Oh- uhm, Toby Rogers? Like, that serial killer. Yeah.” None of them had a clue, you could see it in the weird glances they cast at one another. Avery waved them off, jingling through her keys to pull the door shut and locking it behind you. “We should get going, I don’t wanna miss anyone.”
Nodding, everyone began to walk down the hallway of your apartment building, the guys carrying six-packs of beer under their arms. Sighing, you followed behind, taking the fabric mask from under your chin and pulling it over your mouth.
You would try to have fun tonight, you swore it.
-
“Listen, kid, if you don’t hurry up I’m leaving you here.”
Jeff crossed his arms, a scowl on his face as he watched poor Sally try and adjust her costume. Toby shoved him, kneeling beside her and reaching back to tie the little bow around her waist, casting a nasty look at the killer.
She was dressed as Annabelle, the creepy dress splattered with fake blood, making the real blood pooling from her forehead look like nothing more than some face paint. Her hair was tied into two neat little braids, Nina’s doing. Sally turned to look at herself in the reflection of EJ’s truck- Jeff had stolen it for the night, claiming he wasn’t going to walk all the way into town just for some candy. She finally nodded, holding her little basket tight in her hands.
This was her first Halloween, with Jeff of all people, so she was a little anxious. The killer, on the other hand, found this holiday to be his favorite. He could waltz the streets of the small town closest to the mansion, hood down and everything, snagging as much candy and compliments as he wanted. People really admired his ‘makeup.’
Toby decided to tag along this year, curious to see all the costumes and jack-o-lanterns. He really loved this night as a kid, he wanted to make sure it was good for Sally, too.
“I’m ready now.” She hummed, skipping forward to wrap her hand around Jeff’s hoodie sleeve, the killer rolling his eyes as he began to walk. Toby followed behind, admiring the decorations and darkly colored leaves littering the ground, a surge of excitement coursing through him. It felt just like one of those older scary movies, the sun dipping just low enough to cast an orangish hue across the clouds, kids running around giggling and screaming, parents tossing out candy left and right- he missed this feeling, what it was like to be normal.
He was older now, officially ‘candy handing-out’ age. He used to relish these days, promising that he would dress up for Halloween until he was sixty- now he had much more important things to worry about than what costume he was going to wear. If only his younger self knew how much of a genuine horror his life would become.
“C’mon, twitch, I ain’t waitin’ on you, too,” Jeff called, snapping Toby out of his trance as he watched kids race across the road, some mother yelling about being careful. He nodded, pushing his mask up over his nose, shimmying his goggles off of his forehead and over his eyes. He was still too paranoid to go outright, the covers made him feel more secure, like fewer people’s eyes were boring into him. He felt that swell of anxiety, having to remind himself that people would be far more concerned with Jeff’s look than his. Shoving his hands into his pocket, he took a deep breath- he had to calm down.
He wouldn’t lose himself tonight, he swore it.
-
“Wh- What’d you get?” Toby helped carry Sally’s basket, the thing nearly overflowing with how much she was getting, everyone was loving her costume. They were nearly done with this neighborhood, but Jeff heard some kids yelling about a Baptist church’s trunk-or-treat, and he was more than excited to show up somewhere holy. It was getting late, the sun almost nearly disappeared, so Toby knew it was almost time to wrap things up.
“Lots’a chocolate. Jeff keeps stealing the good stuff, though.” Glancing up, the killer was popping a tiny box of nerds into his mouth, tossing the cardboard onto someone’s yard when he shrugged his shoulders. “You’ve got like, six more of ‘em- you’ll be fine, squirt.”
It was turning out a lot better than Toby had thought, the brunette’s worries nearly washed away as the night grew more crowded. Jeff had spotted some middle-schooler dressed as Slenderman, the killer nearly doubling over in laughter as Toby hauled his phone out to take a picture. The brunette had forgotten just how popular their boss really was, more of an internet spectacle than folklore now. A meme? Yeah, his big scary boss was a meme. Tim and Brian were going to get a crack out of it.
Teenagers were out now, older kids walking in packs with their friends, not so much worried about getting candy as they were trying to hide the alcohol they were carrying. Toby had forgotten just how much different Halloween was when you got older- girls dressed in skimpy outfits of cartoon characters, guys trying to play cool as some movie slasher chasing everyone around, and then you had the ones who just didn’t dress up at all. It was weird.
“Damn, when did Strawberry Shortcake lose the baker getup and start wearing lingerie?” Jeff snickered, crossing his arms and nodding towards a group across the street. Toby scanned them, the orangish tint of his goggles obscuring them, but he could easily make out who the killer was talking about. He gave the rest of the pack a once-over, their outfits more or less the same as guys clung to their hips, flirty little touches as they all walked.
He almost missed it though, the one in the middle of the group, unaccompanied. Jeff must’ve seen it at the same time because he was slapping Toby’s arm like crazy.
“Oh fuck, isn’t that supposed to be you?” Toby shoved his goggles off of his face, ruffling them into his bangs just like how you had them, looking utterly bored as your group quickly began to get out of his eyesight. The brunette looked down at himself, wearing that same hoodie that every popular image depicted him in, the stripes on his sleeves the telltale sign. There was no mistaking it, you were dressed up as him.
The brunette didn’t know how to feel, didn’t even really know what to say as Jeff’s teasing went unheard beside him. He couldn’t peel his eyes away, couldn’t stop his hands from flexing and fidgeting with utter excitement.
He had to get a better look at you.
“Hey! Where are you going?!” Jeff yelled across the road, Toby shoving the candy basket into the killer’s hands and jogging in the direction your friends were going.
“I’ll catch up with you guys later! Don’t wa- wait up!”
He disappeared into another block, Jeff letting out an exasperated sigh as he took Sally’s hand. “C’mon, kid. We’ve got some Baptists to freak out.”
-
It was already loud inside the house, music thumping against the walls as people tried to shout to hear one another.
You hung against the wall of the living room, sipping slowly on whatever alcohol-filled punch they were serving in the kitchen. People were spilling out everywhere, the front yard just as busy as the rest of the rooms of AJ’s house.
It was barely even 9 PM, but nearly everyone from your school was here, familiar faces passing by with glances or cheesy small talk. Avery and her friends had disappeared into the crowd near the speakers, couples dancing and talking with one another, the pulsing neon lights, cheers following every finished game of beer pong, and the atmosphere heavy with vodka and laughter. It was nice, a little overwhelming, but nice.
You could feel the buzz in the back of your head, the tipsy dizziness you held making it a little easier to relax, the music swaying your hips gently.
You couldn’t see through the crowd, but Toby rested his shoulders back on the wall across from you, tapping his fingers across his thigh as he surveyed the crowd. He didn’t even have a drink, awkwardly trying to pretend like he was supposed to be here amongst the buzzed-out college kids.
He had followed you there, staying a comfortable distance behind your group and out of your curious eyes. It was hard not to notice the way your eyes lingered on the houses you passed, smiling at the kids who ran by, and pointing out the overzealous house decorations. You really stood out from your group, a sore thumb from the rest of them.
What was he doing? Why was he even here? Following some girl because she was dressed as him? Toby knew he was popular, Ben reminding him every time some new post went up on the internet trying to debunk his whereabouts. It didn’t bother him, with his job came weirdos who idolized him- he had just never seen it in person before.
It really was surreal.
“Oh my god.”
Toby shot up, straightening as he looked to his side, panic sweeping over him.
Lost in his thoughts and the rush of the party, he hadn’t noticed you pushing to his side of the room, shuffling past to get back into the kitchen for more of whatever you were drinking. You had your mask tugged down under your chin, the facepaint on the left side of your cheek standing out against your flushed cheeks. You even had torn tissue paper to make it look realistic- God, he was going to freak out.
Holding your hands out, you look down at yourself and then at him, comparing your almost identical outfits with a bright smile. “Nice costume, man.”
Of course, you were cute. He was trying to register you, eyes flinching across your sweet face smiling up at him.
Toby teetered, shoulder flinching just enough to make you glance, but not enough to take the excitement away from your face. He also realized he was just staring and not saying anything- “Oh! Yea- Yeah, hah-” The cool metal of his mask pressed against his cheeks, staring oddly at the fabric one you had.
“Oh damn, you’ve got like- the legit facemask. I just got mine from Spirit, it’s pretty crappy.” You laughed to yourself, holding the solo cup awkwardly in your hands, fidgeting with the lid. Toby immediately regretted his decision, wracking through his brain for some way to get out of here- he forgot how painful small talk was. “I didn’t know anybody else even knew who Ticci Toby was.”
God, that nickname. The play on words was supposed to be funny, but its holder didn’t think it was all that humorous. He smiled at you anyway; there was just something about the way you said it, all giddy.
“Ah, yeah. Mine’s pre- pretty old.” He was fidgeting again, unprepared for how you snuck up on him. “I, uhm, tried my best. Haven’t re- really dressed up in a while.” You complimented him heftily, pointing out the ‘fake’ dirt and blood stains across his hoodie, the great quality of his goggles, and even how he got his makeup to that weird milky-gray skin color. To you, it was just a very well-done costume.
“No, I get it. I don’t usually go all out like this,” Looking down at yourself, you put on sort of a blush, nervous chirping about how niche it was. Toby couldn’t help but smile. “I just have always really loved his story, so I wanted to make one of my last Halloween’s memorable, y’know?” Ah, candy-handing-out age. A million thoughts ran in the brunette’s mind, but he found himself relaxing again, shoulder pressed onto the wall as you rambled. “I’m just glad I’m not the only one who likes him.”
With you, this close, cheery little features continuing to blab on about the rest of the small details of your own costume, he couldn’t help but find himself listening so intently. A fan? Is that what you were? It felt weird to think about it like that, but the brunette found himself blushing at the thought of an admirer.
“-And I fringed the bottom of his hoodie with a lighter. It was hard to get it to look right, but I really liked how it came out. Y’know, for like him burning his house and stuff- I thought it was a nice detail.” Toby was nodding along, surprised by the little burn holes near the pockets of your lookalike hoodie, the attention to detail far more than he was expecting. “That’s really cool, uh-”
“[Y/N].”
“Uh- Toby.” Was that going to give it away-
“Even got the name down too, huh? Man, I see why you dressed up as him- you fit everything to a T.” He relaxed, your obliviousness laughable, but also a heavy relief.
People brushed by, bumping into both of your shoulders and shimmying their way through. You refocused again, pointing back over your shoulder with a shy smile. “Would you, uh, wanna get some more to drink? I was going anyway-”
Woah- You were inviting him to hang out longer? He was about to refuse, come up with some weird excuse to get back to Jeff and Sally, but the way you gleamed up at him, flashing lights and overstimulating music, it felt so odd.
He was going to let himself give in. He was wearing a ‘costume’ after all, so why not play up the act and enjoy himself a little bit? Slender would have him out running these woods by tomorrow, so why not just take the night and at least pretend like he was still a normal kid? Like all those bad things never happened, being a proxy never happened… He was just a kid who grew up, spending Halloween how normal teenagers did now. Yeah, he was going to let himself have this one night if nothing else.
Toby nodded, pushing off of the wall as you led the way, pushing through the mess of wildly dressed people into the kitchen. Behind you, now, Toby could see the way you still stood out amongst everyone, odd glances being cast in your direction. Just like him, almost, a freak in a sea of hateful eyes. You get it.
“I don’t really know what this stuff is, but it tastes pretty good.” You laugh, flipping the nozzle of the jug holding whatever concoction was mixed with red Kool-Aid, pouring some into two cups. You handed it to Toby, the brunette awkwardly swirling the liquid around with a nervous stare. You giggled at him, wrapping your hand around the sleeve of his hoodie, and guiding him out the back door and onto the patio.
The atmosphere was much calmer than inside, the muffled thumping of whatever song was playing giving a nice rhythmic atmosphere as you sat on top of the stairs leading out into the backyard. You both watched friends and couples dare each other to jump into the pool, the chilly autumn air guiding you to believe the water wasn’t much warmer. Toby sat next to you, mask still snug on his face, revealing nothing for your curious mind.
“So, Toby, what’re you doing here?” You sipped lightly on the drink, contrasting flavors of vodka swirling in the fruity punch, the sting of alcohol making you cringe. Toby hesitated, still tapping his fingers on the side of the plastic cup, trying his best to calm his rushing nerves.
“Uhm- well, y’know… Halloween par- party stuff…” Even though you had taken notice of his stutter ages ago, you forcefully ignored it. You knew better than anyone about nerves, you didn’t want the poor guy to feel any worse about it. Still, his answer made you laugh.
“You’re not supposed to be here, are you?” You smile as he shakes his head, leaning back to glance up at the sky, the moon hanging bright and casting a milky glow across the clouds. Toby really enjoyed it when it was like this, made it easier to see where he was going at night. “That’s alright, I don’t really belong here, either.” You enjoyed the moon because it was pretty. Same worlds, different perspectives.
“How come?” Toby leaned back, too, kicking his legs out as he relaxed, easing into the conversation. You rolled your eyes, shaking your head. “I only came because my roommate invited me, I didn’t really want to come. These things aren’t really my deal.” You took another sip, Toby taking in every inch of your face, studying every detail as you spoke. “I would’ve much rather gone trick-or-treating. I guess we’re all a little too old for that now, though, huh?”
The breeze ruffled your hair, wrapping your knees in tight against your chest as the air chilled you. Toby caught himself admiring- it was almost like you were wearing his hoodie, the top just a little oversized on you- he could imagine it. “Nah, I used to love it. Wish it wasn’t we- weird to go when you got a certain age like there’s a time lim- limit on when you can ask for candy.” He smiled, flinching his leg a little.
Toby felt his phone buzz in his back pocket, leaning over to dig it out, flipping the screen up to see a text message from Jeff.
“wtf r u?????” “party. dont wait up.” “😡🖕🙄”
Just to make sure, Toby shared his location with the killer, flipping his phone off and shoving it back into his pocket.
You gave him a sideways glance, smacking him on the shoulder playfully. “You haven’t even drank anything- at least try it. It’s not all that bad.” Clearly, considering you were throwing the cup back to finish off presumably your second glass.
Toby awkwardly cupped his hand onto the metal of his mask, sliding it down below his chin. Thankfully, he had remembered to get EJ to redo the bandages on the corner of his mouth, the gaudy wound becoming irritating to deal with. He wishes it was just cool makeup like yours.
Taking a sip from the cup, he cringed, brows knotting as he shut his eyes. “God- That’s like- straight vodka with fru- fruit syrup- Fuck-” It burned his tongue, your laughter so sweet beside him, resting your hand on his shoulder. He made a funny face, fake gagging on the terrible thing.
He sat straight when you gasped, cupping your hands onto his cheeks and turning his head forcefully. His instincts kicked, hands flexing to grab at you, to slam you down across the pavement below-
Until you were rubbing your thumb across his bandages gently, flattening out the ends that had become soiled with dried blood. Toby forced himself to relax, his heart thudding in his chest with adrenaline. No one usually got this close- touched him- unless they were clawing for their life. It was like a whiplash, having to condition himself differently for your ignorance.
“Dude, no way you’ve been hiding these all night! Fuck, even these look real- how in the world are you so good at dressing up?” You were taking in every detail of his face, assuming the scars across his lips and cheekbones were merely good makeup skills or a talented friend, Toby trying his best not to freak out with you this close.
You seemed to notice it too, because you were snapping your hands back, eyes blowing wide-
“Shit- sorry- I get real excited about these things… The drinks probably aren’t helping either.” You chuckled, awkwardly sitting back and tucking your knees against your chest, silently cursing yourself for making him uncomfortable with your weird obsession. Toby noticed it, immediately catching the switch-up in your attitude.
Holding his palm out, he levels it in front of you, catching your attention. “I’ve, uhm, got the weird hand bandages, too.” He sheepishly smiled, watching as you slowly lit up again, taking his hand between your own.
“No way…” You picked at the medical wrap clinging around his hand, little bandaids and medical tape snugged tight around his fingers to hide the terrible bite marks and scars he had given himself, that gaudy proxy symbol etched into his flesh. He wanted to compliment your makeup, to say something about how realistic it looked-
Until you both heard a piercing scream from across the patio.
“Tyler!”
Snapping your gaze to the noise, you watched as a tall jockey guy hauled a tiny blonde girl over his shoulders, taking two heavy steps before he jumped into the pool, dragging her along with him. Toby was concerned but was quickly caught off guard when you began to laugh, slapping his arm.
“Avery! Are you okay?!” The other girls on the side of the pool knelt down beside the water, reaching their arms out to help the poor girl back onto solid land. They quickly had a towel wrapped around her, and the guy, Tyler, hopped up onto the side, high-fiving the similar-looking guys accompanying them.
You were still laughing, Toby smiling even when the girl came over to the steps, hurriedly trying to get back inside.
“Ah- [Y/N]? Who’s this?” Your roommate gave Toby a once-over, casting a sideways glance as she noticed you both were wearing the same outfit.
“Uh, This is Toby- we’re dressed as the same thing, see?” You were all cheery, smiling up at her even as she dripped water everywhere. Toby recognized them now, the skimpy group you were walking with, the ones who left you alone almost immediately after getting to the party. You tried to act like it didn’t hurt you, but the brunette had seen it all, catching every time you longingly stared at them through the crowd- the way you still did now.
“Right… Well, I’m glad you guys found each other,” You could hear the sarcasm in her voice, her friends hanging behind her and giving you both funny looks, whispering to one another as she talked. Toby knew you noticed it, too. You were pressing your knees against your chest again, shriveling up into yourself. “Look, we’re leaving. Probably going to finish the night out at some bars if you want to head on back to the apartment.”
You began to nod, giving Toby a half-glance of defeat, taking your empty cup in hand as you began to stand up.
“Uh- Ac- Actually, we’re going trick-or-treating. So, don’t wa- wait up.” Toby stared daggers into the girl, unapologetically snagging your hand in his as he stood, taking his cup in hand. Avery watched him with a sour look, glancing back and forth between you two before stepping up the rest of the stairs. “You two have fun, then. Freaks.”
She definitely said the last part louder than she meant to, because her friends were giggling as they trailed behind her, quickly scuttling into the crowded house. You rolled your eyes, trying not to let it show, but the pang in your chest was heavy.
Toby looked at you, took a firm grip on the solo cup, and closed his eyes. You watched with bright eyes as he chugged the rest, throat burning as he groaned, crushing the cup in his fist and tossing it behind him. You smiled, forgetting that your hand was still tucked neatly into his as you both raced off the patio, pushing through the fence gate, and climbing out onto the road. The street lights were on now, kids dwindling as houses stopped handing out candy, but Toby was determined to get you some.
“Are we actually trick-or-treating?” You laughed, Toby dragging you along with him, pulling his mask back up and over his nose. “Dude, we’re like, totally too old for this stuff, now-”
“And? Just cause I’m older doesn’t me- mean I stopped loving candy.” He hollered. You clung against his side, the breeze pushing through your hair and giving your nose a cute little blush, eyes bright with excitement as you gripped his hand tighter. You tugged your own mask up, shimmying your plastic goggles off of your head and over your eyes, completing the entire look. Toby stalled, heart whirling in his chest as you raced down the sidewalk, excitement buzzing in the air.
Jeff was going to kill him, but it would be worth it.
-
“Trick or treat!”
You held out a plastic Walmart bag, the thing nearly busting with how many pieces of candy it was holding. You both had meant to stop five houses ago, but when you somehow wound up in the nicer neighborhood four blocks over, you couldn’t pass up the full-size candy bars they were giving out.
The tipsiness was really hitting now, you both holding onto one another as concerned glances from parents dumping the rest of their candy into your bag. You always hated those obnoxious people who laughed or talked too loud in public, but now, you found yourself doubling over, cackling at the mean comments Toby was dishing out to little kids’ costumes.
“Tha- That’s supposed to be Spiderman? Yeesh.” It wasn’t even that funny, but you nearly hit your knees from lack of air, laughing so hard that your chest was hurting. Toby’s eyes were heavy, neck jerking and body twitching from the overstimulation, his cheeks a rosy color from the swirl of alcohol in his bloodstream.
“Okay, okay,” You raised up, catching your breath as you leaned against his arm, the rusty smell of his cologne surrounding you. “I think if we get any more- hic- we’re gonna be picking all of it up off the ground.” You pointed at the sack, the plastic stretching and threatening to bust out everywhere. Toby nodded, reaching in and snagging a Hershey’s kiss, popping the sweet chocolate into his mouth. You acted offended, holding the bag close as you both laughed.
The streets were nearly empty now, most of the houses’ lights being turned off and decorations unplugged, the only sign of activity from cars driving by or random groups of kids racing back home to review their hauls. You could feel your own room calling to you, your intoxication pulsing sleepiness into your mind.
Toby noted when you yawned, taking that as a silent sign that the night was ending, preparing to part ways with you. He nearly reached back into his pocket, going to give Jeff a call to come pick him up.
“Wanna go back to my place?”
He paused, your heavy eyes grinning up at him.
“Uh- What?” He could feel himself blushing. Was it just the vodka? He hoped so.
“Well, I ain’t gonna eat all of this by myself. Besides, I’m not trusting myself to get back without crashing out in a bush somewhere.” Toby laughed, rolling his eyes as you waited for his answer, shifting your weight nervously. You smiled when he nodded, your arm quickly wrapping around his and dragging him down the rest of the street.
Reaching over, he took the bag of candy from your hands, stuffing it under his arm. You walked slowly, taking in the dulled-out character inflatables and oversized skeletons in people’s yards, pointing out the Spirit Halloween animatronics that you found so cool. He couldn’t help but find himself staring, encapsulated with you. You found such beauty in what everyone else found offputting, admiring what even he would call strange.
“You’re so weird.” He huffed with a grin.
You glanced up at him, rolling your eyes. “You like it.”
Toby couldn’t find a good answer, turning his attention back to the street lights out front. He did like it.
“So, I never asked about you- Like, really. What do you do when you’re not wearing the best Toby Rogers cosplay ever?” Toby glanced at you, stalling out mentally as he tried to come up with something.
“Uh, I travel a lo- lot. Kinda like an on-call thing. Uhm… Yeah.” You nodded along, but the brunette wasn’t entirely sure you were hearing what he was saying. You were just looking at him, eyelids hanging low as you took in every detail of his face. He smiled, reaching his free hand to tug your mask down under your chin, your sly grin hidden underneath.
“Tell me abo- about you, [Y/N]. What is Ms. Rogers doing when she’s not ob- obsessing over me?”
Toby paused, a dead stare into your eyes as he choked on his words. He slipped up- Did you notice, would you care? He could feel the panic rising in his chest, jerks twinging at the back of his neck, anxiety swelling-
“Woah, easy tiger-” You’re giggling, pushing the strands of hair that fell in your face when you did an unbalanced little bow. “Didn’t know I was in the presence of such a celebrity.”
Toby was already relaxing, shoulders untensing faster than they wound, trying his best to settle his shaky hands. “But, I don’t know. I’m in between jobs? School?” You fidgeted with your hands, your arm still wrapped tightly around his. The weight was comforting. “I’m only still here because it’s where I grew up, but I don’t know what I’m doin’ now…” Your stare was distant, fidgeting with the fabric of his sleeve as you talked.
He was about to say something, trying to muster up some affirming speech that Tim used to tell him when things got rough. But you were tugging him off of the sidewalk, skipping towards some apartment complex building. “We’re hereee…”
He followed you through the neat hallways, the stout smell of clean and tacky air fresheners strong on the brightly colored carpet. Toby didn’t know if he had ever been in a place so nice, dozens of doors lining everywhere you went, feeling like he could get lost if you weren’t dragging him into an elevator.
Pressing your floor button, he leaned back against the brassy walls, your hands rummaging through your pockets and hauling out a set of keys. Cute little keychains were hooked onto the loop, reaching back into your pocket for your phone, swiping across the screen.
“Here, smile-” You were leaning back against him, holding your hand high in the air to take a selfie, Toby grinning goofily up into the camera. Looking over the picture, you smiled, never moving off of his shoulder as the elevator took you up, Toby’s heart soaring much higher.
-
“How many of those are you going to eat?” You gasped, tossing another Skittles wrapper onto your floor, adding to the mess that you swore you were going to clean up.
Alternatively, you were lying on your back, laid out on your even messier bed, stuffing your face with possibly the most unhealthy amounts of sweets. Toby sat on the floor, his back pressed against your footboard, rummaging his hands through the sack and tossing pieces up to you.
He looks really good in just a t-shirt, you thought, catching yourself staring at his toned shoulders.
“As many as I want.” He grinned, popping another jawbreaker into his mouth. Your twin pairs of goggles and masks lay scattered on the floor, hoodies bunched at his feet. Toby was in bliss, the sweet smell of your perfume and clothes soaked in all around him, pieces of you everywhere he looked. Posters of your favorite bands, corkboard full of keychains and polaroids, even your wall-mounted TV playing some older murder mystery documentary. He loved how normal it felt, how comfortable, and different.
In his mind, he could see you going through the motions every day, the boy longing for even just a taste of that. In the way you admired his weirdness, he admired your normality. Same worlds, different perspectives.
“I’m officially cutting myself off until Christmas.” You huffed, climbing off of the bed and staggering to your vanity. Toby watched as you fiddled through your makeup, popping open the box of makeup wipes and taking one out. Pushing your hair behind your ears, you began to wipe the design on your cheek off, rubbing the wipe over your eyes and cleansing your skin of the fake deep-set eyes. The brunette was lost, mesmerized by how your rosy cheeks looked so sweet in the warm light of your bedside lamp, eyes brighter than ever.
Sitting off your chair, Toby sat up a little when you grabbed another wipe, kneeling next to him. “Your turn.”
He stuttered, glancing from your now-clean face to the wipe in hand, nervousness creeping up in his throat. The wipe was cold, pressing it against his as you tried to clean him off, Toby watching through worried eyes when your face started to contort, confusion heavy in your features. “Dude, like, none of this is coming off. What kind of makeup did you use?”
“Hah- Uh, the good stuff, y’know?” He could tell you weren’t convinced, scrubbing just a little harder on his cheekbone until the grayish skin became littered with red irritation. You sat back on your heels, cupping the side of his cheek with your free hand, running your thumb across the skin under his eye. Toby flinched, your other hand coming up to cup the other side of his head, eyes tensed in focus.
Fuck, here it goes.
“This isn’t makeup, is it?”
Toby cringed, refusing to look you directly in the eyes. His fingers flexed, the outline of his pocketknife pressing against his leg, a silent reminder. He didn’t want to do it, God, he silently begged not to, prayed for you to brush it off so he could get out of here. The room felt so small now, your closeness becoming increasingly irritating the longer you stared.
But the brunette knew that if you reacted how everyone else did, with panicked screams that would have your curious neighbors come knocking, he knew what he would have to do. Even someone as awestruck as you couldn’t keep him from the inevitable.
He clenched his jaw when you dropped your hands, parting your lips like you wanted to say something, but getting tangled in your own thoughts.
“[Y/N]. I’m- uhm- I’m him, okay?”
You just kept staring, “I get it, your costume was good- okay? I don’t-”
“No, I’m not- Jeez,” He slid his hand up the side of his thigh, finally forcing himself to look at your confused face, eyes snagging onto every detail. “I’m Ro- Rogers. Like- Toby, Toby Rogers… I’m Ticci Toby.”
Tapping his heel on your carpeted floor, the brunette waited, collecting every twitch of your eyes or shaky breath that you took. He was ready for the yelling, the panic, taking calculated measurements in his head of just how many steps it would take for you to get to your bedroom door. He had done it a million times, ended someone’s life a million times. He would force this time not to be different.
His hand flexed around the indent of his pocketknife, ready to flip the metal open as you sat up onto your knees.
Your hands moved slowly, following the same motion you had been making all night, but this time it was more meaningful. Toby flinched as your warm fingertips brushed along his jaw, wrapping gently around his cheeks as you said nothing, the brunette trying to keep the floodgates of panic from cracking open in his mind.
That’s when he felt your fingernails picking at the bandage on his cheek, pinching the edge, and slowly, carefully removing the sterile cloth underneath, the fabric spotty with dried blood. Toby let his eyes shut, his facial wound now on full display, slowly ticking the seconds of silence by in his mind, relishing in the fleeting feeling of his ‘normality.’
He was a fool to ever think he could have something so nice-
“The pictures on the internet do not do you justice.”
The rush came to a stop, eyes slowly flinching open as he looked at you, his brows knitted in confusion. “What?”
“There’s these pictures on Twitter, really blurry, but still- of you. They don’t make this thing look half as cool as it really is.” As if to confirm it for yourself, you brushed your thumb across the edge of his skin where the flesh broke off in torn tissue and exposed the side of his gums. You watched to see if he would flinch, carefully pressing the softness of his cheek to watch the skin stretch and move- it was real.
Toby watched as you sat back, setting your hands down in your lap. It was strange how the brunette found himself missing the warmth of your touch, already.
“Toby… Toby… How the fuck did I not see it sooner?” You repeated his name over and over, rolling the syllables off your tongue and stapling them in your mind. “How did I not notice? I’ve seen your face a million times.”
Toby could barely register any of it, his heart thudding a mile a minute as you carried on like everything was normal, more angry with yourself for not noticing it was him than anything. It was almost a blur as you scooted forward, leaning in close to wrap your arms around his neck, hugging him in so gently.
He could feel himself melt, hand unraveling from his knife as the panic dissipated, the sweet, lovely smell of your perfume heavy in his nose. He had to be dreaming, he thought, slowly coaxing his hands around your back and pulling you in closer, forgetting the last time he had even had a hug at all.
But then it ends all too quickly, your hands pushing back on his shoulders, a panicked look in your eyes.
“I must seem insane.” And then you’re standing up, running your hands through your hair, pacing back and forth across the messiness of your bedroom. Toby shakes his head, standing off the ground, reaching out to you. “I’ve been going on and on about you all night- I must seem so psycho and crazy. This is so embarrassing- What the fuck?”
He’s grabbing your arms, pulling you back over to the foot of your bed, and sitting you down, an exasperated smile on his face. He was so worried about you freaking out or becoming terrified that he completely forgot who you were. You had been rambling about him all night, unknowingly complimenting the boy right to his face, and Toby was scared you wouldn’t like him. Just like how you’re worried about looking crazy, embarrassment flooding your face as you hide your palms in your hands.
“[Y/N], lo- look at me.” He tugs your hands away, sitting beside you on the bed, leaning down so you’re forced to look at him. You nervously hold his gaze, face so red and flustered, he’s smiling at you like a little kid. “It’s cute.”
And then you’re flopping back onto the bed, screaming into your hands as Toby laughs, running his hands through his hair.
Is this what it’s like? Teenagers hiding out in their rooms, casting sheepish glances at one another all night until one of them cracks, everything flooding out. He should be taking a priority, getting the hell out of your room and out of your life before he gets mixed up with something he can’t pull himself away from. But the flirty touches, teasing, and everything else that got him here clouds his judgment.
Then you’re sitting back up, scooting closer, and throwing your arms around his neck, abandoning every thought he was just brushing over in his mind. He holds you close, your face hiding in the crook of his neck, taking uneven, steady breaths as you try and rationalize it all, before giving up. “I’m sorry, Toby.”
And now it’s his turn to be confused, leaning back to look you in the face. “For?”
“Everything. The things even I couldn’t have controlled, the things that made you this way- Nobody’s probably ever told you before, so I will: I’m sorry. I’ve studied your story so many times, went over every detail, ran your perspective in my dreams- but even still, I can’t possibly imagine.”
The brunette can’t feel pain, he doesn’t understand the cut of a knife or the sting of a bullet. But the pang that snags in his chest, this heavy weight that feels like all the pain he's ever missed out on- that hurts worse than anything. But looking into your eyes, his hands planted firm on your skin, the solid weight beside him- It’s like it's all never even mattered in the first place.
For the first time in his life, he’s being seen. Viewed as more than just a weapon.
Screw the different perspective, screw the polar opposites, he’s in the here and now. It doesn’t matter if he’s been pretending tonight or his entire life, right now is real. He’s not going to lose it.
“Ca- Can I kiss you…?” It’s nearly a whisper, his voice so quiet and nervous as he leans forward on your bed.
You glance from his eyes down to his lips, heart thumping so loud you’re scared he might be able to hear it. You nod anyway, blinking slowly as you hold his gaze. “Y- Yeah.”
Toby brings his hand up nice and slow, cupping the side of your cheek as he leans in, fingers trembling against your skin. Your hand reaches to cup his, warm fingers relaxing atop his, a satisfying weight that has the boy swooning. Then you’re leaning in, too, slowly fluttering your eyes shut.
And then your lips touch, and everything just holds for a moment.
All the rush of the night, the nervousness, the excitement, it stops for just this one second.
You’re leaning into his touch, soft lips pressed firmly against his rough ones, slowly twinging your jaw to coax him deeper. He feels like he’s melting, skin so hot to the touch when you reel him in, your free hand snaking up the backside of his neck and into his messy curls.
He groans into your mouth, breaking the kiss and leaning back, breathing heavily. Your face is so flushed, cheeks a deep vermillion that makes Toby smile a little, grinning as he still cups your cheek. Your fingers brush through his hair, coaxing his head into your hand with such gentle touches. It’s so sweet, so calm, a complete turn from what the brunette is used to.
He knows pain, and rough, and cold- but you- there’s only sweetness, and caring, and warmth behind those eyes. He wants more of it, to feel more of it, he has to have it- to have you.
It doesn’t hit him what just happened until you’re giggling in front of him. Then that hold snaps, his conscience rushing back into him, and he’s leaning back further-
“I’m so so sorry- Oh my god- I don’t kn- know what I was thinking- I- Gah- I’m so sorry-”
“Toby.”
“If I should go- or- Oh, my god- I’m sorry- I should-”
“Toby.”
“I’m just so-”
And then your hands are wrapped into his hair, pushing forward until your lips collide, hurried, loud kisses that have the brunette spiraling, eyes fluttering shut again. There’s that warmth, your body leaning in to press close to his, arms wrapping around his neck, he thinks he might pass away.
You pull back, taking a deep breath as Toby collects himself, brushing his bangs out of his eyes. He’s a mess, brain running a mile a minute, his body having a hard time catching up as he twitches and jerks.
Throwing your leg over his, you straddle his thighs, wrapping your arms tighter around his neck and holding him close. He’s swallowed by the sweet smell of your perfume, resting his chin on your shoulder as he wraps onto your back, heart thumping against your chest. He finds the thoughts flooding, dissipating the more he breathes, disappearing into this blanket of quiet.
“You alright?” You whisper, brushing your fingers through the back of his hair, his skin tingling with your touch. He hums low against your shoulder, running his fingers up and down your spine, the touch making you sigh. He could live forever in this moment, could die happy right here.
But when his fingers mindlessly dip a little too low, brushing your lower back right above the waistline of your jeans, Toby mewls at the way you grip onto tufts of his hair. It’s abrupt, a reaction, but he feeds into it anyway. He brushes that spot again, right above your tailbone, and you’re taking a deep, shaky breath against his neck. He likes that a lot.
Gently, he tugs the hem of your shirt up, just enough to see a peak of your skin. You pause, hitching a breath when you feel his cold fingers wind up under your shirt and press against your back.
“Toby-” He promises he’ll stop if you ask him to, making sure you know that- but you’re shaking your head, gripping onto his arm as he pushes his hand higher, snaking his fingers along the bony press of your back. You let out a low groan, quiet, but just enough to have Toby aching for more. He stops when his fingers brush the strap of your bra, dipping back down to caress the curve of your skin, studying every detail you’ll let him get.
“You’re so pretty…” He whispers, the dull lamp glowing across your flushed face making him blush, your body relaxing against his hold. Your noises are like a drug, he wants to hear them over and over, the softness of your voice so intoxicating. But more than that, he wants you. If this is all he gets, he’ll cherish it for the rest of his days.
Wrapping an arm around your back, he’s flipping you over, pushing you up to the center of your plush bed and towering over you. “Toby…” He drinks in your sweet gasps as he intertwined his lips with yours, tasting how sinfully delicious you were with a swipe of his tongue across your lower lip. Toby’s hands wandered the expanse of your body, cupping your head to kiss you deeper, snaking down to rub your waist. It’s so greedy, so hurried and eager, but doesn’t know how much longer he can hold out.
Your fingers run through his curls, following his head as he moves off your lips, slowly pressing a trail of gentle, open-mouthed kisses down the side of your neck. You’re gasping, running your hands across his shoulders, digging your nails in when he kisses just above your collarbone- but then he’s sitting back, pushing up and off of you with a worried look.
“Fu- Fuck, I’m sorry-” And then you’re sitting up on your elbows, a concerned look on your face. “I’m not be- bein’ myself tonight- I don’t know what’s wrong. Shit, [Y/N], I’m sorry-”
“Toby, it’s alright-” You laugh, pushing up to sit in front of him, reaching out before he takes your wrists in his hands, holding them down.
“No- I just, never do any- anything like this- It’s like I can’t stop-” Even through his apologies he’s staring at your lips, that hunger pooling in his chest for another sweet taste.
“You’re telling me I get to kiss the boy I’ve had a crush on for years, and he’s worried about not being able to stop?” Exasperation was heavy on your face, it’s almost laughable how much playful irritation was in your voice. Toby caught that last part though, the words going straight to his head.
“You gotta crush on me?” He smiles, redness tinting his cheeks. He’s still holding your wrists, your eyes slowly widening as the heat settles on your face.
“I, uhm- Well, you see-” You’re scrambling for words, the cheesy smile on Toby’s face not helping your case at all. “I mean, I thought it was kinda obvious. I dressed up as you for Halloween, man.”
He doesn’t let his conscience weigh him down anymore, pulling your hands to wrap around his neck before he pushes you back down onto the bed, swallowing the sweet taste of your lips against him. He can still taste the sourness of the candy you were eating on your tongue, too. He licks at the plush of your lips, drinking in your gasps as he intertwines his tongue with yours. Kissing you like he’ll never be able to again. Because, God, knowing his luck- he probably won’t.
You’re a giggly mess, spreading your knees for him to slot between them, his muscled arms wrapping around the small of your waist. “And I’ve nev- never seen someone be able to pull off my go- goggles so well.” He prays you won’t be able to feel the bulge he’s sporting, but when your legs wrap around his hips, he loses all hope.
Your stomach flutters, tingles across your skin as he’s back on your neck, little nips and kisses that have your back arching off of the comforter, arms tightening around him. He would kiss you forever, marking every inch of your skin with a delicate brush of his lips, he could waste his time like that forever. You wrap your legs around Toby’s waist to pull him closer, feeling the outline of his cock. He grinds against you, letting out low groans at the snag of your clothed core. Both of you knew it- he needed you so badly.
But then you’re pushing your warm hands up the back of his shirt, fingers scorching across his toned muscles and scratching your nails into his skin. You push the top off of his shoulders, up and over his head before throwing it to the side, glancing down at the slim but strong figure looming above you. Scars adorn his skin, long gashes or scattered fragments of bullets that have clipped him, not to mention the littered cigarette burns all down his abdomen. He finds it disgusting, blemishes that he can’t stand to look at.
But you’re tracing them with your fingers, rubbing your thumbs across the blistered burns that made him sick, taking in every inch of him. And smiling. Was it possible to fall in love this fast?
“They’re disgusting.”
“They’re so cool.”
He can’t muster the words to fight you as you’re reaching deeper, pushing your hands further down his torso to snag onto his jeans, reaching for his belt. Toby’s body comes to a rushing halt, his heart beating so hard, the feeling of his cock finally getting the attention it wanted.
His hands rest on either side of your shoulders, a dark shadow over you as you slowly undo his belt, unbuttoning his jeans hastily. Hands dipping past the band of his boxers-
He was big- so mouthwateringly big. Flushed a deep shade of pink at his tip, pulsing in your hand so comfortably- every part of Toby was so endlessly pretty to you. He was gasping, eyes trained on how your fist slowly moved, so hot and heavy in your grasp as you pumped him at a steady, methodical pace. “Ah- Shit…”
Glancing back up to you, your face is so red, lips parted as Toby takes your jaw into his grasp, forcing you to look up at him before he bullies his tongue past your lips, little groans slipping past. Your back arches into him as his hands snake up your shirt, parting from your lips only to push the fabric over your head, capturing your kiss quickly again. He thinks he can manage, thinks he can keep his composure- but then your thumb runs over his slit, precum dribbling out onto your finger, and he's moaning into your mouth like he's never been touched before.
He hasn’t, not like this, not this gentle.
“[Y/N]- Oh God-” You’re biting his bottom lip, fingers clenched tight around the swollen head of his cock and pumping gently, his hips twitching and jerking for more. He pushes off of you, the breathless flush of your face so pretty under him, but then he’s glancing down.
And, fuck.
Your tits sit so pretty in your bra, blushed skin laid out beneath him as shaky hands reach to unbutton your jeans, jerky fingers quickly tugging them down your thighs and onto the floor below. And then he can’t believe how he's gone this long without you, or how he'll be able to survive another night if you’re not with him.
Where you admire his blemishes, he admires your perfection. Not a nasty knife scar or bullet nip anywhere on you, skin so soft and warm, his cold hands running across your smooth hips. “Gorgeous.” It’s the only thing he can think to say, but it doesn't do you any justice.
“Let me- Can I touch you? Pl- Please-”
You don’t answer, just rising up off of the bed to reach behind your back, unclipping your bra so seamlessly as it falls off your shoulders. Toby nearly moans when you toss the fabric to the side, chest rising and falling with shaky breaths, tits so round and heavy- so pretty.
Falling to your side, he’s holding you close, one leg draping over his bony hip as he shimmies his jeans off. Your legs spread wide, hands gripped tight into the softness of his curls as rough lips wrap around your nipple. You’re gasping, skin fluttering with every touch across your abdomen, cold fingers slowly trailing down just below your belly button. He stays there, tongue pressing flat across your nipple as the pads of his digits line the hem of your panties, teasing as you buck your hips up, silently begging for him to go lower.
The brunette’s fingers were now rubbing against your folds through your panties, causing you to jerk at the friction. He playfully nipped at your collarbone before glancing up at you through heavy eyelids. “My turn, pretty girl.”
“Toby- hah- Yeah-” His free hand wraps behind your back, cradling you into his side as he pinches at your unattended nipple, rolling the bud between his fingers. He smiles against your tit, a long sigh of relief when you feel his fingers break past the line of your panties.
His fingers dip into the warm folds of your cunt, dipping down to collect your arousal on his digits, messily swiping across your plushy lips. You’re already soaked just from kissing, Toby popping off of your nipple to snag your lips, kissing you hungrily as you pant into his mouth. His fingers circle your clit, the nub pulsing and jerking at his touch, hips rising and falling as they chase the sensation. “Jesus- You’re soaked.”
Swirling deftly around the sensitive nub, you gasp, heat so prominent on your cheeks. “Don’t worry, I go- got you.” He’s unable to decide between sucking harshly on your poor nipples, or soaking his tongue in the warmness of your mouth, lips glistening with his saliva. And it’s driving you mad, keening and pulling at his soft locks. You’ve never been touched like this before, and Toby didn’t know if he would be able to stop.
Then he’s plunging knuckle-deep in your gummy pussy, the tips of his long fingers massaging your plushy walls. You cry out, breaking from his kiss and giving him a good excuse to snag back onto your tit, gently biting on your reddened nipple.
He’s pumping his fingers rhythmically, curling them in a way that has your eyes fluttering shut, fingers tugging his hair so hard it makes him groan at the pressure. His digits glisten in the low light, hand stretching the fabric of your panties He’s hitting that little spot each and every time., looking like he was absolutely in heaven as he rolls and swirls his tongue against your nipple, lips wrapped tight around the skin.
“Sh- Shit, Toby-” You groan, grinding your hips down as he stuffs his fingers all the way to the knuckle, the two middle digits spreading and pressing against your walls, coaxing your legs to spread wider. His palm bumps against your clit, holding his hand there to press firm against the bundle of nerves, your jaw hanging loose when he leans up to go in for more kisses. He is all over you, barely able to breathe as he ravages your skin, fingers bullying their way deeper until you can feel yourself gushing across his palm. The noises are so lewd, the schlick, schlick of your wet cunt taking him back in, walls clenching around his thick fingers. You can’t stand it, can’t take it anymore-
Toby can see it in your face, in the way you stop kissing him back to let out a long, guttural moan that has him in bliss. His fingers beat faster, fucking your swollen cunt open as his unattended cock throbs and leaks against your thigh, begging to replace his fingers.
“S’good Toby. Fuck. Right there- Don’t stop.” And then your arms are wrapping around his head, cradling his face into your neck as you fall apart on his fingers, pussy gushing and practically dripping with your orgasm. You think maybe you see stars, or it’s just the freckles on the brunette’s skin when he captures your lips, drinking up every moan you feed him.
His cock is wilting, throbbing, and twitching against your leg as you finally settle out, breathy groans that have you both staring at each other through heavy gazes. He slips his hand from your ruined panties, pulling your knee up higher to spread your legs more as he slides the fabric from your hips and tosses them somewhere unseen, taking his cock in his soaked fingers.
Your breath hitches at the way he drags his swollen head teasingly across your slit, pooling your slick on his achingly hard tip, smearing your juices with his cockhead as he pumps himself lazily. It’s so torturously good, his face disappearing into the crook of your neck as he gently nibbles your burning skin. “Need you so bad, Toby.” You breathe out, nearly panting. “Co- Condom. In the nightstand-”
Despite wanting to feel you, really feel you wrapped around him, he kisses just below your jaw before rolling over. Fishing for a condom in your drawer, he misses you sitting up, fresh orgasm giving you a rush of need as you watch him haul the packet in between his fingers.
Because then you’re pushing his shoulders down onto the bed, straddling his thighs as you snag the condom from him, quickly tearing open the packet. Toby watches with excitement, hands reaching to cradle against the sides of your thighs, fingers digging into your plush skin when you slowly slide the latex down his throbbing length. It’s snug, but thin, able to feel every pulse of your cunt as you take the base of him in your hand, swiping his tip along your folds, wetting himself. It was all the preparation you were going to give yourself because fuck Toby needed to be inside your pussy right now.
Then you feel like you’re being split apart- Toby’s cock was slowly pushing up into your warmth as he presses through the first ring of muscle. Before you can overthink, you’re nudging your hips down gently. So agonizingly gentle that Toby has to stop his hips from riding off the bed. And you can do nothing more than let out barely-audible whispers of his name as you seat yourself on his throbbing cock into your snug cunt. “Ah- Hah-”
You feel so full. So drunk off of the delicious burn of your pussy, hands resting on his chest as he watches you.
You’re so nauseously tight, gripping his length in a way that had his eyes rolling back, fingers digging red marks into your skin. You’re both breathless, eyes clamped shut and bodies shaky when your hips finally meet his, so utterly full of him. Toby can’t even find the words for it.
That’s when you hear voices from outside your closed bedroom door, Avery and her friends returning from whatever drunken night they had, loud as ever.
In a panic, you push your hands over Toby’s mouth, the brunette’s hot breath fogging against your skin as he smiles, waiting patiently as they all file into Avery’s room, voices slowly dwindling out. Meanwhile, you’re pulsing around him, cunt clenching as you’re forced to wait.
But eventually it's all clear, palm slowly letting off of his mouth, a teasingly smile plastered on his face. You roll your eyes, quietly laughing as you steady yourself, pushing your knees further against his sides. You’re pulling your hips up eagerly, achingly fucking yourself at a slow, sensual pace. His tip kisses your cervix as you roll your hips sensually against his, making sure you feel every vein and twitch against your tight walls.
“Y’looked so beau- beautiful tonight. So pretty dressing up as me.” Toby gasps, running his hands across your thighs, up the sides of your waist as you dig your knees into the mattress. It sends shivers down your spine, ones that go directly to your clit as you lean forward, pressing your chest against his. Sweaty forehead meeting his, he leans up to meet your pitiful kiss, hips still pushing back as your clit rubs against his abs.
Surprised moans get choked in his throat as you rock your hips back and forth, pulling all the way up till his furiously flushed tip is teasing your sloppy hole, slick glistening on his length, just to nudge yourself down again, relishing in that full feeling.
Wrapping his hands around the back of your thighs, he massages the plushness of your ass, smiling to himself when you wrap your arms around his neck and hide your face into the crook of his neck. “More, Toby.”
“O- Okay…” He breathes, bending his knees to get a better angle, the divot of his cock pressing against that sweet spot and making you mewl. The weight of you on top of him is so satisfying.
Toby starts up a satisfyingly good pace, thrusts get deeper and deeper until he finally buries his cock into you as deep as it could go. Throaty groans spill out of his mouth, he looks over and kisses your forehead gently, taking in every moan and whine you muffle into his neck. “Oh- hah! Yeah, yeah, yeah-”
Even if his body was exhausted, he couldn’t feel it. All he could tell was that your cunt was gripping him so hard his jaw was clenched, grinding his teeth as he fucked himself up into that sweet warmth. “So good- Oh, feels so good-”
“Oh god. Toby, right there-” You gasp out in pleasure, starting to move in shallow thrusts that have your eyes rolling to the back of your head, the curve of his cock knocking that swollen sweet spot over and over, each thrust more prominent than the last. You bounce your ass back on him, meeting every thrust that he delivers so deep into the swell of your pussy, clit aching and throbbing as it rubs against his hard abs. “You’re so- doing so good, baby-” He huffs.
Feeling that very familiar coil in your abdomen, you mewl, “Toby- I’m gonna-”
But then his thrusts halt, hands reaching further up your back to hold onto you tightly, sitting both you and him up as he crawls up onto his knees. He’s got your weight in his arms, cock still nestled so deeply inside of you as you wrap your limbs around him, leaning in to kiss along his jawline sticky with sweat.
He gives up thrusting now, hips rutting and grinding into you in a way that has you moaning deep and long, cunt throbbing with the ache for release. He’s in so deep- so full.
Kissing against your rose cheeks, he looks at you with fucked-out eyes, trying his best to ride out the last of this moment as he feels his gut pool with warmth. His arms reach around your slender back to dig his nails into the unblemished skin, holding you as close as he physically could. It felt so perfect. Your hips grind back to meet Toby’s, thighs trembling as they cling to his hips. “Shit, [Y/N], I think yo- you were made for me.”
And then you’re capturing his lips, breathy moans as you feel him throb inside you.
“Close?”
“Mhm…” He sighs, leaning down to kiss along your shoulder.
You grind your hips deeper, chasing that heavy feeling that builds in your gut, clinging onto whatever you can grab of his skin, brushing your hands up into his hair and pulling. “Hngh- Toby. Inside- ” You whimper, overstimulated, and your senses filled with only the brunette, you finally cum, riding it out on his deep thrusts. “Oh, fu- fuck. Gonna cum. Gonna cum, my pretty girl- Hngh-” He moans out as your pussy clenches down on him, finally tipping over the edge as well.
You feel Toby cum in hot spurts into the condom, rasping your name over and over as if it was the only word he knew. He collapses onto you, careful not to crush you with his full body weight as he pants against your neck, slowly tugging himself from your gooey warmth.
As you both come down from your highs, he quickly removes the condom and hugs your sweaty body closer to his, kissing along your neck and up to the corner of your mouth. Eventually, he climbs off of your bed, searching your messy floor for his boxers, tossing you his t-shirt which you happily pull on.
He fishes new panties from your dresser- quietly spazzing out at all the different colored bras and matching bottoms you had to choose from- and tugs on his own boxers.
Every movement after that is laced with exhaustion, tired, sticky bodies shuffling under the covers as you cling to his side, breathing in his smell like it’ll be the last time you do. He’ll make sure it’s not.
Flipping your lamp off, the only glow is from your TV, dim lights reflecting off of your still-rosy skin. He takes every moment to kiss along your cheeks, brushing your hair from your face, and cradling your body tight against him. He doesn’t really remember how you coaxed him into taking off the wrap on his hand- with the false promise that you would change the soiled bandages out tomorrow- but you do, unraveling the fabric until that horrific proxy symbol contrasted against his pale skin. A mark, a reminder of who he was returning to when the sun rose tomorrow.
He promised to let himself have tonight, but he knew that tonight wasn’t going to last forever.
But then you’re bringing his hand to your lips, placing a sweet, deep kiss right at the center of his palm. And he melts. He wasn’t lying when he said he thought you were made for him, the sour look on his face disappearing when he was cupping your cheeks, pulling you impossibly closer to kiss against your skin.
You kissed against the scar on his cheek, soft lips on jagged flesh, and he knew.
You spend the rest of the night fishing stories from him, things he promised he would never tell, but find your reactions just too good at the mention of Masky and Tim. Your obsession seemed to run deeper than him, but he was your favorite.
-
Toby would have never felt the dip in the bed beside him, or the fingers that messed in his hair, but he did feel the fist that clenched onto his jaw much harder than you ever could’ve.
“Rise and shine, twitch.” Jeff, in all of his ugliness, sat on the edge of the bed, teasingly patting Toby’s cheeks. The brunette sat up, pushing the killer off of him and out of the bed, hoarse little chuckles erupting as he felt you stir next to him.
“How the fuck did you get here?”
“Front door, duh. You sent me your location last night, remember?” Toby noticed through your open bedroom door that your front door was swung wide open, the killer smiling with satisfaction, but his face slowly dropped when he saw you slowly sit up.
“Toby? Wha-” You see Jeff, Toby ready to reach out and clamp your mouth shut, prepping for a terrified scream. But then you’re sitting up, Jeff awkwardly glancing back and forth between you two as your lips part. “No way.”
Toby should’ve known better.
Because then you’re bombarding the killer, sitting on the edge of the bed, and studying every detail of his face, fangirling, of all things. Toby smiles, laughing to himself as you banter on and on about newsletters and obscure websites, Jeff casting you concerning looks as you recount his entire backstory.
-
It’s well into the afternoon by the time Jeff finally pushes Toby to leave, barking about how he was supposed to have him back hours ago. The killer would never admit it, but they were only there that long because he enjoyed hearing someone harp on how good of a killer he was, complimenting him like he had always wanted.
Jeff’s already in the truck waiting as Toby kisses your face, kissing against your hands as fear courses him, fear that this will be the last time. But then you’re grabbing his phone, typing in your number, and sending yourself a text. A promise.
“For whenever you want to stop by ;)”
Followed by your address.
And then he’s back on the road, Jeff harping on and on about how ‘you weren’t that bad’ or ‘if Toby wasn’t careful he’d snatch you up.’ He couldn’t hear him though, too busy studying every detail of the photo you had sent him, the two of you smiling half-drunk in that elevator. It was already his wallpaper by the time they made it back to the mansion.
And he was already making plans on how he could sneak away tonight to come see you.
God, how he loved Halloween.

Since requests are open in honor of my favorite holiday, Halloween, how would Vil, Rook, Malleus and Lilia react to a f!reader/f!MC’s witch costume complete with the pointed hat, fingerless lace gloves, a lace sleeveless black dress with a knee high skirt, witch socks and buckled shoes. (I can probably see Vil and Rook helping her with her nails and makeup for the occasion.)
CW: Fem reader
A/N: we've waited a long time for this one, nonnie. Happy Halloween!
Let's be real….Vil designed the outfit. Vil bought the outfit without telling you. Vil brought it to your dorm, said, "change", and then stood there while he waited for you to change.
He then styled your hair, did your makeup, did your nails, yelled at you about how to properly compose yourself in the outfit, then Snatched your wrist and dragged you with him to show off your look.
He's not going to go all gaga over you like some of the others. He knows how beautiful you are, and he hopes you know with how often he tries to make it clear to you. That said, he is very proud, both because he designed it, and because everyone is complimenting you.
Designed the outfit pt 2
The night before Halloween festivities began, you heard a knock on your second story window, and when you opened it, he was perched on the windowsill, outfit in hand. Gave you a roguish wink, and said something about being very excited for tomorrow's festivities, then he jumped off the sill, and did a perfect roll landing, before skipping off into the woods.
You would think he had never even seen the outfit (he gives Wataru in this clip energy) He's wild, almost crazed as he compliments every aspect of the look, and how it sits on you. If you say something along the lines of "you designed it why are you so nice?" He'll say, "Ah, but you are the one who brings life to my humble design!"
He's immediately thinking about what you'd look like in traditional Valley of Thorns regalia. It's not anywhere similar to your witch costume, but your costume is dark, and Valley of Thorns robes are dark, so that's the only tie in Mal Mal needs.
He's going to treat you like a lady, placing your hand in the crook of his arm, escorting you where you want to go, pressing kisses to your exposed fingertips.
You're just too pretty dressed up like a witch. And as your brave dragon, he has to protect you from evil pirates, vampires, and gravediggers! He was so excited for Halloween festivities, but now he's far too busy hoarding you and your time.
Will steal your outfit for himself once you're done with it.
He wishes you'd have told him about the outfit, he totally would have tried to match. Think of how adorably mischievous he'd look in a witch costume!
He'll giggle and ask if he can be your bat familiar. Wouldn't that be so fun! His beautiful little witch, and her handsome bat companion! How exciting!

Devil's night [S. R.]
Spencer Reid x fem!reader
word count: 4k
summary: Spencer is excited about his Halloween plans and you join him.
Directly based on episode 6x06, because I felt so bad about how the team behaves with Spencer that I needed to do something
“I see someone’s feeling spooky today,” Morgan smiled, looking you up and down.
You were wearing a cardigan knitted with various prints related to the time of year; pumpkins, ghosts, black cats, and candy corn, over a bright purple skirt and tall boots. Normally you would dress more formally due to the implied dress code the FBI operated under, but it was the weekend and Halloween was around the corner, so you could skip a suit day to wear one of those many scary-related items you had. After all, Halloween was your favorite holiday of the year. It was fun for everyone when you were a child, but as you grew up, your love for said celebration became a little weirder for others, so when you became an adult, you didn't think anyone shared such excitement about the date. Well, that is until you met Spencer Reid.
“It became a little more commercialized in the 1950s with trick-or-treating, and today it rivals only Christmas in terms of popularity” you heard him say, as he walked in with an already quite annoyed Emily Prentiss.
You knew that sometimes Spencer talked too much, but you hated that the rest of your coworkers got upset like that when he was talking about something that he was passionate about. Now the subject was, clearly, the next date.
"All I asked was what he was doing this weekend" she complained to Rossi. Spencer ignored her and continued with his cathedra as he settled into the empty space next to you.
“I'm toying with the notion of either going to the Edgar Allan Poe Shadow Puppet theater or the re-enactment of the XIX century Phantasmagoria,” he said and your heart did a little skip. You and Reid had argued on a few occasions, outside of work, about Poe’s works and although you didn't know what the second thing he had mentioned was, it sounded very interesting.
“What is a Phantasmagoria?” you asked nicely and when your partner noticed your presence he smiled widely, as if he was just noticing you in the room. The others all pouted in anticipation of the explanation to come and you hoped Spencer hadn't noticed.
“Phantasmagorias are these amazing pre-cinema projected ghost shows invented in France, where the showman attempted to spook the audience using science magic” he explained to you, while he took a seat and waved his hands from side to side. You were completely unaware of the term so you slightly parted your lips in astonishment.
"Sounds interesting"
"I have an extra ticket, do you want to come with me?" he asked you, almost immediately, with the biggest smile of all. Honestly, the invitation took you by surprise, especially who was asking, and Spencer seemed to see it on your face. “I mean, if you don't have plans this weekend. You can say no if you want."
“I'd really love to,” you exclaimed, so he wouldn't get the wrong idea, and watched his eyes sparkle with joy as he nodded.
The others wanted to make fun of it a bit, but Garcia didn't give them time to when she handed you the case files. When Hotch told you that you were going to fly to Detroit, your partner complained loudly and his gaze inevitably went to you, since you were supposed to have made plans together literally three minutes ago, but knowing that the unsub only attacked during these three days of the year. You had no choice but to accept your fate. You have never gone from feeling completely happy to being so disappointed in such a short time.
"I guess you better forget what I just told you," Reid sighed, as you left the conference room.
"Maybe we'll make it on time, when is the show?"
"This Sunday. The puppet theater is at 9:00 pm, the last Phantasmagoria show is at 11:00 pm. None are sold out yet"
"If we get back in time enough, I'll accompany you both, what do you say?" you muttered, trying to be as positive as possible, as you took your friend's arm with both hands and gave it a friendly squeeze. Spencer was taller than you, but thanks to the boots you were wearing and the extra inches they gave you, your eyes were almost at the level of his “Don't be discouraged.”
"I like your clothes today," he suddenly murmured. Sometimes he would give you those kinds of sweet compliments, perhaps as thanks for the kindness with which you always treated him, and you would almost always blush "The drawings are beautiful. Do you know why pumpkins became so representative?"
"Jack-o'-lantern," you replied, rather proud of yourself for knowing the answer.
"But did you know that in the original story it wasn't a pumpkin but a turnip?" he said and you were silent. But he didn't make fun of you for it, instead he saw a new opportunity to impress you "Yeah, you see, in the original legend Stingy Jack..."
The rest of the team, who was in front of you, shared knowing looks as if they were pitying you for having activated the doctor's rambling mode, but the truth was that you were fascinated with every word that came out of his mouth. Sometimes you couldn't believe how there was someone as intelligent in the world as your cute companion and as he spoke you prayed, perhaps with all your might, that you could catch the unsub in time to be able to fulfill the plans in the ones he had included for the weekend.
Almost as if by divine handiwork, the case was solved just in time for the plane to land and you two to rush home to get dressed for the theater. Hotch was even sympathetic to you and told you that the paperwork could wait for Monday just because he had heard of your plans, which you were immensely grateful for.
Spencer was happy that you agreed to go out with him, especially since the idea of asking you out was completely impulsive. It was true that he had an extra ticket but he never thought of having the courage to ask you to accompany him, much less did he think that you would be interested in it, since he was regularly ignored by his colleagues at work. It was something he had never discussed with anyone, only his beloved and gone Elle, but it haunted him almost every day.
Luckily for him, Spencer had prepared the wardrobe he wanted to wear in advance, and all he had to do was take a warm shower, shave, and put on some cream and cologne to get ready. In addition to, of course, styling his short hair as best he could.
He felt particularly concerned by his appearance that night and he pondered whether you would think he looked silly wearing a 19th century French suit. He had bought it last month and it was stored with his costume collection, which no one on the team knew about yet and he didn't intend for that to change.
He had offered to pick you up and when he got to your building, he felt strangely nervous. The doorman was a kind older man that he had seen a couple of times, so when he said that he was looking for you, the man called you on the phone to let you know.
They were silent for a few moments and he began to rock on his heels to kill some time.
“Will you take her trick-or-treating?” the doorman, Tony, joked. Spencer didn't take it the wrong way, instead he laughed it off.
"It's not the plan, but if someone takes pity on us and gives us some I won't complain" he replied and now it was the employee's turn to laugh.
"I've seen you before, are you her boyfriend?"
“Coworkers,” Spencer clarified, with a smile.
"Ah, so you're also a policeman?" although it wasn't the proper term, Spencer didn't know if you had hidden your real job for personal reasons, so he held back from explaining to the man that you were actually a profiler.
"Yes, something like that"
Tony wanted to ask more questions, but the sound of the elevator caught the attention of both men and revealed your figure.
"No fucking way," you breathed, looking your friend up and down and if he hadn't gone dumbfounded, he probably would have said the same thing "Look at you!"
"Where did you get that?" he asked in amazement. Although Spencer had thought that you would show up in a costume, he hadn't expected to see you like this.
"You don’t like it?"
"No, I love it" he hastened to say, when he heard the insecurity in your voice "It's just… I didn't expect to see you as a 19th-century French lady"
You were wearing a beautiful black dress with lace details that obviously alluded to the fashion of the time, black satin gloves, plus a discreet hat on your well-groomed hair and boots that Reid had seen before, but they made a great combination with the outfit. The man's surprise was because he had invited you with such short notice and yet you had gotten the perfect costume and not only that, but one that conveniently matched his.
“And I didn't expect to see you as a French gentleman either” you laughed, as you reached out to wrap him in a hug "I guess it was pure fate"
“Or the fact that we are going to see a recreation of a 19th-century show. Our brains thought the same thing.”
“It doesn't sound so charming when you say it like that" you complained amused and he realized it was true "Shall we go? I don’t want to be late"
Spencer nodded and immediately offered you his arm to hold onto as you walked, a gesture that made you believe you were really entering a time tunnel.
“Enjoy your night”
"Thanks, Tony! Don't scare too many kids and don't eat too much candy,” you waved, blowing him a kiss as you followed Spencer out the door.
He guided you to his car and opened the passenger door for you and then he got in himself to start the engine and get going.
"I really can't believe that we got a couple's costume by pure coincidence"
“Couple costume?”
“Yes, they are those costumes of the same theme that you use with a couple. You know, like the people who dress up as Fred and Daphne or Morticia and Gomez”
Spencer didn't know the last couple, but he did have a vague recollection that the first ones mentioned were from Scooby Doo due to the cartoons he came from as a child.
"Oh" he sighed "Yes, get it”
“Honestly this was a last-minute thing. My downstairs neighbor studies theater and we are good friends, so I asked her if she had anything in her curiosities bag that could help me and she pulled out this dress. It was enough to adjust it a little" you told him, putting both hands on the neck of your dress and smiling from ear to ear "I couldn't believe it, it was really a stroke of luck”
"It looks so pretty on you," he said suddenly, looking away from the road just for a moment to check that you had heard him. "I don't think I told you when I saw you, but that's what I thought."
"Thank you then," you smiled, feeling your cheeks warm a little.
Spencer started talking to you about the creation of puppet theaters and, of course, the Poe stories you were going to witness, with you interrupting him only to point out some decoration along the way that you thought was cute. On Halloween you almost always preferred to stay at home to watch horror movies or go down to the hall to distribute candy to the youngest children, with very discreet costumes to avoid the evil looks of adults. But now you were excited to be doing this with Spencer, who was maybe the only person you knew who wouldn't make fun of you under any circumstances. Your relationship was based on a certain complicity, perhaps more than you had with any member of your unit.
Arriving at the site, he reopened your door and offered you his hand to help you down, which you took without complaining. Once you were outside, he repeated the gesture from when he picked you up from your building and in this way you walked to the entrance, where a woman disguised as who you assumed was Berenice (a Poe character) sold you a couple of tickets.
It was a lovely show and when you weren't looking at the puppets you took the time to admire your companion, whose eyes revealed the emotion of a child. You never thought the doctor was fond of a thing like this and now that you had discovered it you found it quite adorable. As you left you asked him if he was a Muppets fan by any chance and, to your surprise, he was. Spencer even told you that he had a couple of Kermit the Frog items that his mom bought him when he was little, but he also told you not to tell anyone or he'd be embarrassed and you pinky promised him.
You still had an hour between the two shows so you decided to go to a nearby park where there were lots of food stalls: candy apples, popcorn, candy, lemonade, and you even got to one where a Hispanic woman offered you pieces of candied pumpkin. You had to take off your gloves (which he kept carefully in his jacket) when you bought a few pieces of this last one for the two of you and when you tried it you agreed that it was delicious. The woman told you that in Mexico, her country of origin, she always served them to her children with a glass of milk.
Spencer spared no expense just to fulfill all your cravings, even though you refused, so when you got in the car to go to the Phantasmagoria your stomach was pretty full. The place where it would take place was a gray tent in the open air, with a dais in front and several wooden benches arranged so that enough people could fit in. As you had arrived with some time, you took a seat on a bench in the second row and waited patiently for the show to start.
Suddenly all the lights around you went out, leaving only the ones pointing to the front of the stage, and a presenter dressed as a magician appeared.
“For many centuries, wandering spirits have inhabited the world unseen by the human eye, always confined to the world of shadows…” his voice was mesmerizing and kept you on the edge of your seat, watching him carefully “but for a certain time of the year, their magic grows and they are able to cross the barrier that separates us…”
The entire tent was filled with smoke and the audience, including you, looked around trying to figure out what would happen. The presenter continued giving his gloomy monologue and, although you didn’t imagine how, you even felt that the temperature decreased a little with each word he said. Suddenly even the lights that were pointed at him began to dim and by the time he finished explaining to you the whole place was in complete darkness.
There was silence for a moment to build tension and then there was an explosion that made you jump in place. To tell you the truth, you didn't expect much from the show, you thought that being a recreation it would have many shortcomings, but when the first figure appeared on the roof your heart skipped a beat.
You weren't a scared person under normal circumstances and your resistance to the horrifying images you saw at work on a daily basis shows this, but this time perhaps all the environmental components of that night were what made you feel that way. A loud laugh resounded and then another pair of specters appeared, this time flying at the height of the audience and even passing through some of you.
Spencer's reaction was nothing like the rest. Despite his fear of the dark he was totally fascinated by all the images, his mind already working to decipher the magic trick that was being performed. What finally got his breath caught was the feel of your hand searching his. He was still shielding your gloves so he could feel the cool temperature of your fingers, as opposed to how warm he was in comparison. Even knowing that doing that was a reflex act due to fear, he stopped paying attention to the show to look at your hand on top of his, with that noticeable difference in size.
Just as you had admired him during the puppet show, he took the time to observe your expressions now. Your face lit up from time to time by the illusions around you and every time you startled you squeezed his hand harder, in addition to adjusting your body against his as if you were looking for some kind of protection. Spencer had gone out with friends many times and of course with the rest of his female colleagues at work, however none of them had behaved like you were doing. He wasn’t bothered by your behavior, but rather intrigued, since you seemed quite comfortable taking refuge in him to feel safe. Although he knew how to identify qualities in people, he sometimes had a hard time crossing the line of identifying them to really admire them. When he thought of JJ, he thought of a charismatic woman. When he thought of Emily, he thought of intelligence. And when he thought of Penelope, he always saw joy and optimism. But when he thought of you, there were too many qualities to focus on just one: he thought of kindness, calmness, creativity, wit, beauty, empathy... what a big heart you had and how at the end of the day you were perhaps the only one who could make him smile. When he invited you to join him, he did it because he knew you had the same feeling towards scary things, but now that you were there, looking so pretty and holding his hand tightly, he thought maybe there was something else going on between you. You were the closest thing he had to a best friend, though he had never said so verbally, and that night he wanted to be nowhere else but by your side.
Only when the lights came back on did he realize that the spectacle had been forgotten to him, since the whole time he had been looking at you.
“That was all for today, my friends. Thank you for these wonderful performances and remember to recommend us to your friends the next time we're in town. Have a spooky night, all of you."
“I can't believe it, did you see all that? It was just awesome! I didn't think it was going to be this good” you said, completely excited, as you turned in his direction. Apparently you weren't even aware that your hands were clasped until he got up from the seat and helped you imitate him with that grip. Though you thought of apologizing for that, you didn't, fearing to embarrass yourself further.
“It was amazing, even for me it was hard to figure out the trick”
“Why do you want to figure it out? admit it's only magic, doctor. Sometimes life is” you laughed, grabbing his arm for the third time like a happy wife would her husband.
You are something magical, he thought, with the words on the tip of his tongue, but not daring to say them to you.
Although the night was late, the movement in the streets was still the same and Spencer considered asking if you wanted to go somewhere else, but the yawn that escaped you made him think that the best thing for both of us would be to go home to rest. After all, the case had exhausted you.
"Back to your house, right?" he asked, just to be sure and you nodded with a smile.
The road wasn’t long, you only had to take care of the naughty at night so as not to receive any damage, so when you least expected it, you were already in front of your building. Although you intended to say goodbye, Spencer told you that he would accompany you to the door of your apartment just to make sure that you arrived completely safely, because he knew better than anyone how much could happen to a woman alone, even if it was such a short journey, and he didn't want to risk you. Tony was still awake and greeted you nicely as you walked in, so you could then get on the elevator and press the necessary button.
“I seriously have no words to thank you for today, Spencer. Except for that one time I ended up in the hospital for eating so much candy, this has been my best Halloween ever,” you admitted with a laugh, as you leaned in for a big hug.
"Thank you for accompanying me. I'm really glad you had fun, because I had a great time too”
There was a dead space between you, in which you just looked at each other with a smile. It wasn't an exaggeration to say that the night had been wonderful and maybe it was just that you two were trying to drag it out as long as possible.
“Spencer”
"Yeah?"
"Before you go, can I ask you something?"
"Whatever" he responded immediately. He got a little nervous thinking that he wouldn't be able to satisfy your curiosity by ignoring the topic you were going to ask him about and hoped that wasn't the case.
You waited another second before speaking.
"How frowned upon do you think it was for 1800s society for a woman to steal a kiss from her companion?"
Spencer's eyes danced a little in his sockets and you thought he was processing your request in disguise, until he looked at you again and spoke with complete assurance:
“Very frowned upon, surely. At that time, it was usual for men to court women, who were very repressed from making their own decisions or living their sexuality as they pleased. A woman who kissed a man was considered indecent."
You wanted to correct him, tease him or, as a last resort, simply pull him by his shirt and plant the kiss you had wanted to give him all the way. But you didn't do any of that, you just laughed softly and enjoyed his smirk for telling you the right answer.
“I was afraid of that. It's good to know” said this, you carefully approached him and placed a small kiss on his cheek, seeing him slightly surprised by the act “See you tomorrow at work. Call me when you get home”
"I will do that. Rest and see you later"
"Bye”
Just as he said, he called you a few minutes later to announce that he had arrived at his destination so you could sleep peacefully.
Spencer didn't realize that you had explicitly asked for a kiss until Morgan told him and while his friend laughed, he felt like the luckiest guy of all and, at the same time, the dumbest.

How about Day 30 with Lee!Mystery Twins and Ler!Stan Twins (gravity falls) as a game of hide and seek! I think it’d be super cute!
TickleTober Day 30 - Caught
AAAAA I’M DONE WITH TICKLETOBER!! HAPPY HALLOWEEN! This was a fun way to cap off the event, tapping into my roots! I’m so tired, and it’s definitely gonna be nice to not write over 1k word fics daily. I absolutely adored the event though, it really challenged me as a writer! ANYways, sorry for blabbing on, and I hope everyone stays safe tonight and that you Enjoy!
Lees: Mabel, Dipper
Lers: Stan, Ford
Summary: The Pines family are having an "intense" game of Hide-and-Seek to determine who gets to decorate the Mystery Shack for Halloween. There's an interesting set of rules, with a ticklish twist for whoever gets caught.
Warnings: none! This is a tickle fic, so if you don’t like that, scroll away!!
"Dipper, be quiet!"
Mabel whisper-shouted at her brother, sinking further into the pile of stuffed animals. It was the fiercest competition of the century, and she intended to win it.
What had her so determined, you ask? The annual Pines Hide-and-Seek Championship. Well, it was the first year they were doing it, but the technically-teen was going to make sure it carried on.
Downstairs, her Grunkles combed through the house, searching for their great-grand niece and nephew. The Grunkles had half an hour to find them. There was a twist the older men had added, just to make the game more fun. If caught, the kids would be tickled. They didn't really specify a time, figuring it would be best to play things by ear.
The mystery twins gave no argument. They were determined to win, though the sweater-loving girl was definitely taking things more seriously. For Mabel, that's saying something.
Mabel, being serious? What was so great that she would forgo her usual silliness? Well, something she greatly desired; the winner, whoever they may be, got to dictate the Halloween decorations for the whole Mystery Shack. As long as it was within the budget, anything went.
She was determined to make it the most sparkly, retro, in-your-face crazy Halloween party ever. That meant she had to win.
Stan rooted through cabinets, looked in couch cushions, even went as far as looking in the outskirts of the woods. He was putting off checking the attic, figuring the kids would be smarter than that. Mabel was always goofy, it wasn’t hard to think her hiding spot would be as well.
Using a gadget, Ford scanned the first floor of the Shack. It was supposed to detect the joy and wonder a child gave off, though he was pretty sure he calibrated something wrong. Still, he searched, hoping it would at least give him some edge. He didn’t want his home covered in glitter, or so scary that even the goat would have nightmares. If Dipper won…well, he wouldn’t actually mind that, but it was the principle of it.
Dipper was hiding up in the rafters, having used Mabel’s grappling hook to secure the spot. They hid together, figuring whoever got caught first could fend for themself. Mabel was rather proud of hers; it was simple enough that they probably wouldn’t look, yet small enough to where she could barely fit, to dissuade her Grunkles. It was pretty perfect.
After twenty minutes of fruitless searching, both old men went up the creaky attic stairs. The twins held their breath, knowing it would be moments before one of them was caught. The door opened, painfully slow, as the pair entered the make-shift bedroom. They could hear the end of Stan’s conversation as he peeked in the closet. “...it’s one of the only spots we haven’t checked, Sixer. One of them’s gotta be here.”
Ford entered a second later, checking under their beds. He was so close that Mabel went completely stiff, refusing to even blink before he stood up. “Those kids are good, I’ll give ‘em that. They’ve got your sneaky skills.” He got a pillow thrown at his head by a chuckling Stan. “Sure, sure. But they’ve got your smarts. I would’ve hid in a closet or somethin’.”
They were so nonchalant about the way they searched for the younger twins. It was like they thought it was a game. Well, everybody but Mabel thought it was.
Dipper looked at Stan, noticing how close he was getting to finding Mabel. He really didn't wanna be the first one caught, but he knew how badly his sister wanted to win. Sighing, he faked a cough, calling the attention of his Grunkles up. The things he did for her…
In seconds, two rough hands wrapped around his waist, yanking him down from his hiding place. “Gotcha!” Dipper barely had enough time to register that he was in Stan’s lap before five clawing fingers dug into his stomach. “G-GRUHUNKLE STAHAHAN!”
Ford chuckled, getting his fun in as well. He scribbled on and under the boy’s knees, all six digits doing something to get him laughing. It was unfairly ticklish. He almost regretted taking the L for Mabel. Almost.
“Hey Dippy, I got a deal for ya. If you tell us where your sister is, we’ll stop.” Oh, those cheaters! Mabel watched with wide eyes and Stan vibrated his clawing fingers into Dipper’s tum, keeping his arms above his head. She knew her brother had thrown his chance for her, but he still had to outlast the old men.
He wriggled and twisted in their arms, refusing to give in so easily; he wasn’t about to lose for nothing. “I- IHI CAHAHAN’T!” Ford snickered, squeezing his knees a bit more vigorously for emphasis. “Oh, but you can. Just say, ‘Oh, Mabel is hiding…’ and then you say it. It’s just that easy.”
So unfair… Dipper whined through his laughter, kicking as much as he could. Maybe a time limit on the tickles would have been a good idea… His Grunkles were obviously enjoying themselves, matching smirks on each of their faces. He didn’t hate it, per say, but it was much harder to stay sane when all three of them could see his reactions.
It was…actually really nice of him to do that for her. Mabel would have to let Dipper DJ for the party. Waddles might be a little upset, but she was sure her pink companion would prefer snack table duty.
Stan got a little impatient, deciding to be evil. He moved his bony fingers up to the boy’s armpit, digging into his hollows. Dipper let out a squeal that would put Waddles to shame. “NYAAAAHAHA! STAHAN! NOHO- *snrk* NOHOT THEHEHERE!”
Oooh, he went for Dipper’s bad spot. Mabel bit her lip as she watched her brother’s destruction: Ford teasing his knees while Stan went to town on his pits. She wouldn’t blame him if he gave her up, but dang it, she really wanted to win.
Right as Dipper was about to crack, the Nyan Cat theme song went off. Ford’s phone buzzed in his pocket, signaling that their half-hour was up. Mabel had won!
The girl sprung up from her mound of stuffed animals, startling both of her Grunkles. “HA! I won! Stan, go grab the basement key, I’m gonna make it rain glitter and gummy bears!”
Ford laughed, releasing Dipper’s legs as he watched his grand-niece celebrate. Stan sighed, setting the boy down on the carpet to curl into himself. “Okay, okay, ya won! Don’t need to rub it in, ya snot.”
She chuckled, moving to hug her giggling brother. “Thanks for taking the loss, bro-bro. I officially crown you Head DJ.” He pumped a weak fist into the air, still giggling away the phantom sensations. Stan shooed her away, placing Dipper in his brother’s arms.
“You go get the dork some water. I’ll handle our winner.” Ford nodded, carrying the exhausted Dipper down the attic stairs. Stan cracked his knuckles before scooping Mabel up in his arms, holding her against his chest. “Congrats, ya snot. Here’s my favorite part of your reward…”
He squeezed her side, making the sweater lover burst into bubbly giggles. She twisted and squirmed, eyes growing wide. “B-buhut Gruhuhunkle Stahan! Ihi wohohohon!”
He snorted, moving up to tease her ribs. “You did, yeah. Your brother got the worst of it; I’ll go a bit easier on ya. Congrats, you goober.” She whined, protests already forming on her tongue. “Thahat ihisn’t fahair! Sohore loser!”
Stan scratched and scribbled between each bone, acting as if it was just a normal conversation. “It’s totally fair. I don’t remember there being a rule against tickling the winner.” She scrunched up her nose, mock-glaring at him. “Thahat- youhu- uhuhugh!”
It was adorable to see his relatives’ reactions. He loved to hear their laughs, see them smile, make them forget about the crazy lives they’d led for just a second. The whole “Weirdmageddon” fiasco had done a bit of damage. Stan took any chance he could get to make them feel like regular kids again. Dipper had already gotten his go; now it was Mabel’s turn.
“B-buhuhut- HEHEHEY! NOHOT THE PIHIHIHITS!” He poked her armpit, making the girl squeal. “It’s cute how you two share everything. Makes tickling the snot out of ya a whole lot easier.” It was gonna be a long day…

Slashers Spend Halloween with Reader
A/N: HAPPY HALLOWEEN! I'm honestly pretty bummed that Halloween season is officially over after tonight, but I hope you all had a great time! Thank you all for your requests and support on my writings this month. Stay spooky, everyone!
Freddy Krueger
Bar Hopping!
Are we surprised?
Freddy loves to have a good time, especially if it involves drinking and dancing with his hot partner
LOVES if your costume is a bit showy
Loves it even more if you both are matching
If he doesn't like the music that's playing, he changes it with the flick of a finger
If there's someone that's getting a little too close to you, he'll make them disappear for the night (and deals with them later)
And what's even better is that all of your food and drinks are free when Freddy is around
With the quirk of his brow, people are at his command, and no one will treat you any less differently either
Is constantly complimented on his costume because of how "real" it looks
But the moment your social battery runs out, he'll whisk you away into dreamland and cozy up next to you
But if you're ready to be out all night like he is, you can expect one killer hangover the next morning
Michael Myers
Horror Movie Binge!
Michael is clearly not one to go out
As much as he likes Halloween, a bunch of screaming kids or equally drunk adults isn't his forte
But he does like horror and gore
So just say the word, cook the popcorn, and grab a blanket because Michael won't refuse
He even lets you cuddle into him if you want since it's a "special" night
Will share some snacks with you
Probably won't use the blanket, but he's fine if you put it on him
Literally doesn't even blink during the scariest parts of the films
Just don't expect him to binge movies with you all night
Michael can get stir crazy easily
And since it's Halloween night, you can expect him to want to go kill even more
There are too many lives that need to be disposed of in his eyes
But he does secretly cherish that time with you beforehand
He promises to watch more films with you later if you're still awake
Just another reason to come home to you
Jason Voorhees
Walking Through the Woods!
Jason knows you still want to celebrate Halloween, even if it's not with a party or some public event
So what's better than a stroll through the woods?
You have to wait until it's dark, of course, and the moon is bright in the sky
He insists on taking his machete too, just incase
But he happily takes your hand and lets you lead wherever your heart wants
Loves to hear you ramble on about any current interests or hyper fixations
Especially loves when you bump into him or give his hand an extra squeeze
Will stop every once in a while to hold you close, trying to keep you warm from the cold night air
Also likes to watch you pick up random items you see on the ground or around the trees as you walk
Your constant curiosity for things makes Jason incredibly happy
If you guys manage to find a stump, he'll have you rest on it while he sits on the ground beside you
As you lean yourself against him, you share stories of what you did for Halloween as a child
Jason just listens in, content
Thomas Hewitt
Game Night!
It's actually his idea to find some spooky games to play for Halloween night!
It's up to you whether you play together or with his family
He kinda likes those traditional board games that change their theme just for Halloween
But he's also happy to try something new with you!
Will snack on random candies and chips you brought along for the night
Also likes to hear you talk about whatever comes to mind
He's honestly pretty good at the games and is able to beat you from time to time
Will play a scary movie in the background
You both don't really pay attention to it, but the sound is nice to have
If you lose, he always reaches over and squeezes your hand as an apology
But as long as you're having fun, that's all he cares about!
If you win, he claps happily and relishes in your laughs
You end the night playing a simple card game, giving you a chance to talk more and share what you love about Halloween
Bubba Sawyer
Carving Pumpkins!
Well, this only makes sense
Bubba and his family have all the perfect tools for carving pumpkins
And he finds the idea of jack-o'-lanterns keeping away spirits interesting
You have a bowl of candy and a couple drinks besides you both as you get to work
He definitely confuses the candy bowl with the pumpkin guts bowl a few different times
But he's honestly super quick with carving
It's all the practice with sharp instruments
He opted for more of a silly face while yours is a little more creepy
You decide to save the seeds later to bake for a snack as well!
Bubba turns on some fun Halloween cartoons while you both work
He even leans over to show you better ways to hold the knives and how to cut more evenly
Helps you light the candles to go inside the pumpkins once you're done carving
They both end up on the patio, lighting up the area with a fun glow
Brahms Heelshire
Reading Scary Stories!
His parents weren't big on such fantasy tales when he was younger, so he never got to read much fiction
But when you showed him some scary story books you still have from being a kid, he was intrigued
He doesn't really like reading, but he loves when you read to him
You both make a whole night out of it
You get some popcorn ready, turn out the lights, and even make a little fort in the living room out of chairs
You managed to find a flashlight to use when reading as well
He lays with his head in your lap, listening to you read the stories
You even managed to jump and grab him a couple of times, causing him to yelp
He actually ends up getting a little paranoid later into the night, making you read some lighthearted stories instead
Once he feels more relaxed, he ends up falling asleep to your reading
You smile as you get up to grab some blankets and pillows, deciding to sleep in the fort for the night
Norman Bates
Spooky Baking!
Norman has always been quite talented in the kitchen
You'd be happy only eating his cooking for the rest of your life if you had to
And since there wasn't much else to do in the middle of nowhere, you were happy to help Norman with his ideas
You start the night off with making some simple cookies
He made the dough and baked them while you got to decorate
You ended up creating little "spider" chocolate chips with a toothpick!
He then wanted your help making cupcakes
These took a bit longer, but neither of you minded
Norman had a record playing in the background, and it was easy to just converse back and forth with one another
While the cakes were in the oven, he took you by the hand and danced around the kitchen with you
Also plants plenty of kisses on your forehead throughout the night
You both took turns icing the cupcakes once they were cooled
Each treat ended up turning out a little different since you both wanted to create unique patterns and colors
And the best part of the night? Eating your creations together while watching an old Halloween film!
Billy Loomis
Halloween Party!
You thought it would be a horror movie binge, didn't you?
Well, lucky for you, Billy was down to try something different this year
Especially since the whole month comprised of watching every scary film known to man
He is obsessed with your costume, unable to keep his hands off of you
He isn't HUGE on parties to be honest, but if he gets to show you off looking like this, then he's happy to come along
He shares a few drinks with you once you're there
He doesn't like getting drunk, especially since he wants to keep an eye on you
But he enjoys holding onto the red solo cup with his arm around your waist
Occasionally whispers dirty things in your ears and plants warm kisses along your neck
He enjoys seeing how much he can push your buttons out in public like this
Will dance with you if you beg
But it's hard for him to say no to you either way
The night is cut short when he gets into a fist fight with a random guy for flirting with you
Don't worry; he plans on paying the man a visit later
Stu Macher
Trick or Treating!
You think you're too old for trick or treating? Think again
Stu finds you both costumes that make you unrecognizable
You don't think this is going to work out though since Stu is so freaking tall
But somehow, the adults don't question it too much
It's easier to not ask questions, it seems
He grabs your hand and drags you from house to house, laughing with you about random things
And once you both have your fair share of candy, he convinces you to play ding-dong-ditch with him
He may have stolen a pumpkin from someone's yard as well for being "cool-looking"
Asks to trade some of his candy for yours
Occasionally pulls you into people's backyards and makes out with you in the dark
And once most of the kids are back at home, he takes you to his place so you can binge on the candy
The night ends with a horror film too, of course!
Eric Draven
People Watching!
Although this may sound boring at first, anything with Eric somehow turns out to be fun
He sets up a little fort on the roof of one of the tallest buildings in the city, the view being in the dead center of everything
He makes sure you're bundled up in plenty of blankets
The candy bowl is full, and he even has some snacks and drinks to share
You both look over the edge and just watch all the people walk by
You take turns pointing out random people and try to come up with stories on who they are, what their costume is, where they're going, etc.
Always ends in shared smiles and laughs
He strums a couple of tunes on his guitar based on your request
Plenty of cuddles and cold kisses as well
You end up staying out a good majority of the night, only going back home when the streets become empty
Your safety will always be his number one priority
So although you didn't do anything super exciting for Halloween, Eric still made the night very enjoyable for you
And at least this way, he knew he could protect you

After your best friend showed up on your doorstep in New York with tears in her eyes and her favourite pillow under her arm, you knew you had to do something.
She had lived in New York most of her life, having only left you a few years before to move down to the Outer Banks with her family. You missed her dearly, but you hardly went a day without talking or a holiday without her coming home- that is, until she starting dating Rafe Cameron.
Over the last year your friend had fallen off your radar, not for a lack of you trying. But with her crying with her head in your lap, she confessed that she never meant to hurt you, but it was Rafe who had insisted that she didn't need her connections back home, and would roll his eyes when she mentioned anyone he didn't know personally. This got to the point where she just stopped, and made the mistake of listening to him when he drilled into her that you didn't even care if you couldn't be bothered to come visit. Luckily for you, while manipulative and abusive, Rafe also was careless- and your best friend told you he never even bothered to remember your name.
You dried her tears after days, shedding a fair few yourself upon hearing about how your friend's ex had treated her and how he broke up with her over text after no-call, no-showing their one-year anniversary date. You couldn't take it. You had to fix this somehow.
You had always been one for silent, secret revenge. Like spreading rumours about people who had done you wrong and never laying claim to the story, homie-hopping the friend group of a boy who refused to give you the respect of labeling your relationship, or even taking the liberty of sleeping with all of another girls ex-boyfriend's if she had given you one too many dirty looks. They didn't have to know about it in order for you to maintain your confidence- you knew what you did, and that was enough. This time, though, it wasn't you they had hurt. It was your best friend, the purest, kindest of souls who couldn't hurt a fly if you handed her the swatter and somehow held it still.
Rafe Cameron had to know the mistake he made by treating the wrong girl the wrong way, and you would make sure that he would. As you got off the ferry in Kildare with a suitcase in your hand, your mind was already reeling with every last thing you could do to him to make him feel what your best friend did- to hurt him the way he deserved. Rafe Cameron must die.
After scrubbing your social media's of any evidence of each other, your friend gave you the name of the country club he frequented. You had been quick to apply for every job they had open, and you landed one as a cart girl- it was perfect. You couldn't be more pleased with the position, you got to drive around on a drink cart in whatever short skirt you pleased, serving drinks and snacks to rich men who tipped generously and to most importantly, Rafe Cameron.
He had been intrigued from the first time he laid eyes on you. You were pretty, and seemingly so nice, and better yet; you were new in town. To him, you didn't know anything of him and his reputation, his drug habit, or his family name. He didn't know that you knew it all.
"Good morning Mr. Cameron." You smile, pulling up next to his tee-off point and quickly but casually stepping out of the cart. "Your usual today?"
"Come on, you can call me Rafe. My dad is 'Mr. Cameron'." Rafe chuckles, shaking his head at you and already digging for his wallet.
"That he is." You agree with a slight laugh, digging through your cooler to grab his favourite brand of beer and a shot. "First one is on me." You insist, holding the shot out for him as he looks up from where he was shuffling through the bills in his wallet.
"What's the occasion?" Rafe chuckles, furrowing his brow as he grabs the small glass from you.
"I don't know, it's always a good day when my favourite client is in early." You shrug, painting an innocent smile on your face.
"I'm your favourite, huh?" He smirks, accentuating the statement by taking the shot as you crack open his beer and hold it out to him to chase with.
"Of course you are." You hum, watching him as he trades the shot glass for the can in your hand.
"Well, that's funny, actually, because you're my favourite cart girl." Rafe smiles at you, and you return it, looking down and brushing your hair back out of your face.
"That's real sweet, thank you." You blush, fighting back the urge to scowl at how honestly fake he is. He's not this nice person he pretends to be- but he doesn't know that you aren't either. How long could the two of you play this game before one of you shows your cards? You're hoping that you get the chance to go first.
"You're welcome." Rafe smirks, nodding at you, reaching for his wallet again. God- he is so obnoxious you could vomit. "Here, this is a tip then if the drinks are free." He hands you a fifty, and you once again resist the urge to roll your eyes.
"Oh, wow, thank you." You smile sheepishly, taking it from him and tucking the bill into your bra.
"Don't worry about it." He smiles, leaning on his club as he watches you go to get back in the cart. "Hey, Y/N?"
Bingo.
You turn and put that smile back on, humming and tilting your head at him expectantly.
"Want to grab drinks after your shift? I know this great country club with a really cool bar."
Of course he wants to take you out to the club you work at- and to think that's funny, too? What a joke.
"Yeah! I would like that." You nod with a smile.
Your first few dates went... swimmingly. Perfectly to plan, anyway. Rafe would always pay, and you would always act a little nervous. You would wear sundresses- your friend said they were his favourite, and you played into his interests. You made a strong impression that you were one to be easily manipulated, and he was falling for it. Hard.
You were walking down the beach, hand in hand, taking the time to look at the beautiful view of the ocean while the boy next to you watched you intently, as if you were the only girl in the world. Right now, to him, you were. "Hey, Y/N, so I was thinking..."
"Oh, were you?" You tease, giggling as you raise an eyebrow at him.
"Yeah, I was," Rafe chuckles, gently swinging your hand. "I was thinking that maybe I'd like you to be my girlfriend, a more official thing. If you want, of course."
"Really?" You smile, chewing your bottom lip as you look up at him.
"Yeah, of course. You're really cool, and kind, and so beautiful, and I was just hoping you were feeling the same way I was." It was sweet, you can see how he roped in your friend so effortlessly.
"Aw, well, yes, I would love that, Rafe."
When you got back to your apartment that night, you were quick to text your friend and tell her he was all in. The plan was working out beautifully, and while she felt guilty, you reassured her that karma was on your side- and it would be the only justice he ever would face.
You spent the following month as Rafe's dream girl. Within three weeks of him asking you to be his girlfriend, he had told you he loved you over a shared bottle of wine on his yacht. You would be lying if you said you didn't enjoy this new lifestyle he was giving you, but you were much more excited by the idea of all of this blowing up in his face. You had considered the route of revenge porn, even going so far as to save some illicit pictures of him that you asked for, but even for you, that feels too far.
Safe to say, though, it's only a matter of a few months before he's all in, and you're all in with his friends, and thankfully, his family. He didn't get on with his sister, which worked out for you considering that her boyfriend, John B, was a pogue- and your overly possessive boyfriend had a wonderfully convenient distaste for pogues.
"Sarah! How are you? I didn't expect to see you here!" You smile, walking up to her and immediately pulling her in for a hug.
"Uh, at a boneyard party?" Sarah chuckles, hugging you back and looking over your shoulder at her friends, sharing a confused look with them.
"Well, yeah. I guess you're right." You giggle, pulling away and looking around at her friends. "These must be your friends! I've heard so much about you guys."
"Uh, yeah, everyone, this is Y/N. Y/N, this is John B, Kie, Pope, and JJ." She introduces you and you smile politely, giving them a small wave. "Y/N is Rafe's girlfriend."
"Nice to meet you." Pope says, but it sounds more like a question. It would be suspicious that Rafe's girlfriend would want anything to do with pogues.
"I just moved here a few months ago. I'm still trying to make friends and stuff." You shrug. "Really I've heard only good things about you guys."
Kie scoffs at this, bringing her cup up to her lips and shaking her head.
"What?" You giggle, furrowing your brow.
"As if Rafe would have anything nice to say about us." JJ agrees with his friend.
"Well, Rafe is... you know. Rafe."
"You could say that." John B says sarcastically and Sarah hits his shoulder.
"He's just... Actually, never mind. I shouldn't say that." You laugh it off, hoping one of them will take the bait.
They all look at each other, and a silent interaction takes place that you hope you're reading correctly. "Hey, can I grab you another drink?" JJ offers after a moment.
You nod and smile. "Yeah! Sounds good, I'm not drunk enough to be getting these shoes dirty like this. I still feel guilty about it." You laugh.
"Alright then! Tell me- have you ever done a shotgun before?"
The night progresses just as planned, with you getting sloppy drunk. Or, outwardly, sloppy drunk. You'd "accidentally" spilled over half of your drinks, gravitating closer and closer to JJ. He was cute anyways, and funny, and who were you to deny yourself the pleasure of being around someone you actually liked after months of faking it with Rafe?
You fire off a text to him, asking him to "pretty please" come pick you up from this party, and he replies within a minute promising he'd be there soon, and, the icing on the cake, that he loved you.
Now was most definitely the right time to get this whole thing over with.
"So, you were saying earlier about Rafe..." John B asks, leaning on Sarah's shoulder as she nudges him, shooting him a look that says 'don't be too obvious'.
"Oh! Well like I said, I probably shouldn't say..." You giggle, leaning into JJ's side more as he slots his arm around your waist to steady you.
"C'mon, Y/N/N, you can tell us. We won't tell a soul." JJ promises, squeezing you gently.
"Okay, well, In that case, he's kind of... weird, I guess? When we're alone he's just so clingy and whiney and kind of annoying." You slur out, giggling and covering your face. "I mean, I love him, but like, it's a lot."
You watch as their faces collectively light up, John B and JJ trying their best not to laugh. "And! And, you seriously can't tell anyone I told you this..." You cut them off, shaking your head and pretending to stumble a bit. "It's like... quite small. Honestly, I feel bad for him. The sex is so bad."
You laugh as everyone else does, already knowing you've lit the fire for a rumour to spread. Not that it was entirely true, but you figured it was a nice touch. Something for him to remember you by after you're back in New York and he's still fighting off the small dick allegations.
"That's... yeah that sucks." JJ laughs, running his hand down your back. "I have to tell you, though, no one's ever said that about me." He whispers the last part to you so no one else could hear, but you're sure they got the general idea.
You hum, taking another sip from your can as you turn in his arm. "Come with me to grab another drink?" You whisper back and he nods.
"Guys! We'll be back, just going to grab another drink." JJ explains, already leading you off.
"Don't tell anyone what I said about Rafe!" You laugh, pointing at them as you walk away, sure to be loud enough to draw looks from other kids scattered around.
"Come on, this way." You grab his hand and lead him away from where you stashed your drinks, up toward the road.
"Don't you want your drink?" JJ asks, confused as you turn to face him, shaking your can to demonstrate that it's still almost entirely full.
JJ chuckles, shaking his head. "What about your boyfriend?"
"What about him?" You say, stopping next to a tree, chewing on your lip as you look up at the boy in front of you.
"Nothing." JJ says quietly, shaking his head as you lean in, catching headlights approaching in your peripheral vision.
You pull JJ closer to you, his lips pressed to yours and you tangle your fingers in his hair as the lights get closer, brighter.
Rafe makes his way down the road, repeatedly trying to call you. No answer after your text, but he just sums it up to you being too drunk to make out what's on the screen. He loves it when you're drunk, you're giggly, and fun, and more relaxed than normal. It's not a side of you he sees often.
Rafe is beginning to think you're changing him, for the better. He's never loved someone so much, he fell fast and hard for a girl who was perfect for him. Soulmate was a word he swore he never believed in, that was until he got to know you.
When he caught a look at you in his headlights, making out with JJ fucking Maybank, he could swear his heart stopped. Typically he'd be angry- he's not a stranger to being cheated on, or doing the cheating, but with you, it was so different. He was more mature now. Apparently, maturity meant heartbreak.
"Y/N? Is that you?" Rafe calls out, getting out of the truck as JJ disappears back down to the beach. He already knew the answer.
"Rafe! Uh, hi!" You giggle nervously, deciding to play this out a little longer as he walks up to you.
"Who were you with?" He asks, stopping a few feet away as his voice cracks.
"Oh! Uhm, just a friend." You answer, keeping your distance.
"Oh, okay. Well, let's go, then. I'll get you home." He mumbles, a tear falling which he quickly wipes away as he turns to head back to the truck. Hopefully, the few seconds he isn't facing you are enough to compose himself.
"What, that's it?" You scoff, crossing your arms. The sudden sobriety in your voice caught him off-guard. "I really expected more from you, Rafe Cameron."
He turns, brow furrowed as he looks you over. Sober as ever, he's sure of it. "What?"
"What?" You mock him, rolling your eyes. "I'm disappointed. Honestly. Not even a screaming match?"
Rafe pauses for a moment, shaking his head slightly as if it would help him interpret the situation. "Y/N, I'm not going to fight with you. I'm going to pretend I didn't see what I'm pretty sure I just saw, and we're going to move on. Okay?"
"I'd rather not, actually." You reply, feet planted firmly where you stood. "Are you crying?" You ask, leaning in a little and squinting in the headlights to see better. "Oh, my, god. You are crying!"
"What are you laughing at? You cheated on me!" He defends, wiping his eyes rapidly as his voice shakes.
"Aw." You laugh, clutching your drink to your chest with a fake pout. "It really worked, didn't it?"
Rafe looks down at the ground now, shaking his head in disbelief.
"Tell me, how does it feel?" You ask. "I'd like to pass it on to a friend. I mean, she already knows, because you cheated on her. Then blamed her, and then hit her when she pointed the finger back at you. Oh, and that was after you ghosted her and broke up with her with a snapchat."
He just shakes his head again, chewing now on the side of his nail as tears continue to fall.
"Nothing? Not even a word?" You ask, waving your hand in his direction to grab his attention.
"I love you." He mutters, a weak attempt at regaining your favour.
This only succeeds in making you laugh. "So I win!" You drop your can so you can give yourself a round of applause.
"Rafe Cameron, I have never met someone as fake, and sick, and as cruel as you are." You recite, stepping closer with every word. "You are going to die alone. And you'll deserve it."
"You will too." Rafe counters, taking a deep breath. "You are just as cruel and sick as I am." He spits, regaining enough confidence to be angry. "What kind of person takes months out of their life to move to a new city just to fuck up someone else's life?"
"You don't even know the extent of what I did yet." You whisper, face to face with him now. "Go ahead. Hit me. I won't press charges. I won't need to."
His fists are clenched at his sides, jaw shut so tight his temples are starting to ache as angry tears continue to fall.
"You can't, can you?" You continue, taking a step back now, smiling and shaking your head. "You're pathetic, Rafe Cameron!" You call, turning and walking back down the path.
He watches you walk away, heartbroken as he huffs with anger. That's what he gets for changing. That's what he gets for trusting you.

Older! Rockstar! Eddie x reader doing a Halloween party just with their friends, and Reader dressing up like a sexy vampire and Eddie being a vampire, and he just wants the party to end just to be with his girl
Happy October! A fun and sexy Halloween blurb. Thank you for requesting <3
"Baby, can you tie this?" Y/N sighed, giving up as she couldn't tie it correctly. She stood in front of the mirror. A tight dark red corset, a heart shape to advance the look of her chest. A black bow in the center, and a black lace flow at the bottom. Almost like a small dress. Her legs are covered in black fishnets and red heels are on her feet. Her hair was curled and messy, with winged eyeliner and red lips. Fake blood dripping out of the corner of her mouth.
Eddie appeared behind her. Dressed as a vampire as well. A black shirt, left unbuttoned, with fake blood dripping down his chest. Black pants and a red cape thrown on his back. Fangs in his mouth as he smirked at her.
"You look good enough to eat." He teased, nipping at her neck with his fangs.
"Alright, Dracula. We need to hurry, help me." She teased. Eddie sighed and began to tie her corset. His eyes bounced between watching his hands and her reflection in the mirror.
"Do we have to go? I think we can have our party right here." Eddie whispered, kissing her bare shoulder lightly. His hands wrapped around her stomach, his right hand sliding down the front of her dress, lifting it as he rubbed her clit softly over her fishnets and underwear. She moaned but quickly grabbed his hand. Stepping out of his arms.
"It's Gareth's party. Yes, we have to go. He's your best friend and bandmate." Y/N said, turning around to take Eddie in. Her eyes eyeing his bare chest.
"Seems like you are occupied with something else as well," Eddie smirked, Y/N rolled her eyes and looked up at him. She smiled at him and walked around him. Grabbing her cape she threw it on.
"Let's go!"
~~~
The party was loud and packed when they walked in. Eddie held her hand as he dragged her through the rooms.
"HE WOULDN'T EVEN NOTICE IF WE WERE HERE OR NOT," Eddie yelled over his shoulder, Y/N rolled her eyes and followed behind him.
"YOU'LL SURVIVE!" she yelled back.
When they made it outside to Gareth's huge backyard, they spotted him.
"You made it!" Gareth cheered, dressed as a werewolf as he hugged Eddie.
"This must be your girl! It's nice to meet you." Gareth said, shaking her hand as he took her in. He whistled and gave Eddie an approved nod.
"So Y/N, mind if I ask if you truly are into vampires or want to try a werewolf?" Gareth joked, Eddie punched his arm.
"Haha, funny!" He growled, wrapping his arm around Y/N.
"Calm down, Grandpa. Just a joke. You guys look great together and I hope you have a good time " Gareth said, heading inside.
"Grandpa? How rude." Eddie pouted.
"Well Dracula is quite old....that's why I always had a crush on him." Y/N teased, a smirk as she grabbed Eddie's open shirt to bring him closer to her.
"Plus vampires are way sexier than a dog." Her voice was low as she felt his chest underneath her fingernails. Eddie shivered as he felt himself getting turned on.
"Can we please just go back home?" Eddie pleaded, his hands landing on her ass and giving it a squeeze.
"Just a few hours then I'm all yours." She promised, kissing his lips.
Throughout the night Eddie was losing his patience. Her body was against his as they danced, his brain clouded by her smell. The looks of all the young guys her age staring at her in disbelief. In so many ways Eddie loved how he was older than her, he hated growing up and losing the youth. But the look on the young boy's faces when he got to show them she was all his, made him feel amazing.
She got drunk as the night went on, her hands having no control as she traveled down into his pants. He wanted nothing more than to fuck her right in front of everyone. Let the little boys see how a man does it, but he respected her.
"We gotta go home to do that." Eddie said into her ear, holding her hands as she tried to claw into his pants again.
"No time. Bathroom or car. Give me something." She whined, her tongue on his neck. Eddie didn't have to be asked twice, dragging her back to his car.
Happy Halloween to him
hi liz!! how are you doing?
I just wanted to ask if you could do a halloween edition of all the girlfriends dressing up
hope you ok
hi!! I’m doing okay. long weekend this week 🥳
here are my thoughts!! I had the hardest time picking costumes for some of them that could be possible in their universe — so like not pop culture references or anything. and I added how they’d be at a party, too.
Duchess is the one hosting the party, despite it being Xaden’s house — he lets her have the reins because he doesn’t do holidays, even if they’re dark and broody. I’m stuck on what she would dress up as. her and Brennan might not, honestly, with the excuse that “they’re getting too old for this” but at the very least she’d wear a nice fall-colored dress, not her rider’s clothes. she also lets her hair down for the occasion, which Brennan likes very much.
Angel dresses up as an angel, of course. cute, peaceful, and a reference to her nickname from Garrick and the boys. it’s easy enough to put together; a little white dress and a halo. Gare is a big fan of the exposed leg and the wings she’s got on. he’s going to try to pull her away from the party multiple times that night, but Angel is too polite and too shy to leave early, so Gare is a little pouty about that.
Spark is one of those people who does not care about any holiday ever. but Liam is excited about it, so she’ll play along, because she does care about him. Her costume probably consists of a t-shirt and pants, maybe a hat or a headband, but that’s it. Plunk some ears on her, and she’s the black cat to Liam’s golden retriever. Love attempted to convince her to let her draw some eyeliner whiskers — that went about as well as you’d expect it to.
Peach, our sweet healer girl, borrows someone’s flight jacket and dresses in all black to be a rider. (Dain gets over it when he sees how starry-eyed Sawyer is about this.) Later in the night, she steals the hat from Sawyer’s costume, looking him in the eye while she does. he blushes so hard, nearly choking on his drink, but thankfully these city kids don’t know the rule: wear the hat, ride the cowboy.
Darling is hand-making treats for the occasion, obviously, because she’s extra like that. she borrows a dress and shoes from Love or Duchess and is a ballerina 🥹 (this will make more sense whenever I finally finish one of her chapters… anyway) she’s classy and practical through and through, so she’s wearing tights under. and she encourages everyone to drink water and eat some real food to balance out the alcohol and churam.
Love dresses up as a fairy (because she has Tinkerbell energy). it’s easy enough to put together — a little pastel dress (of which she has dozens) and some wings, which she can make flutter with her little wisps of air. she’d make a dramatic entrance by floating down the stairs. Dain is probably a little anti-Halloween in the sense of it being “impractical” and “for children”, because there is no whimsy or fun allowed in the Aetos household, but when he sees how happy Love is, he’s on board. like Garrick, he’s into the dress and the wings, but he has the restraint not to drag her away from the party.
Sweetheart doesn’t want to stand out too much. she’s probably not going to dress up. or if she did, it would be something simple. maybe she’s another black cat with Spark — Liam plays that sunshine role for both of these withdrawn, “cold” girls. she hangs back at the edges of the party most of the night (with Xaden!) and watches it all unfold.
Sunny is also one that’s stumping me right now. she wouldn’t have any impractical clothes or shoes to wear, so she’d have to borrow something from one of the girls or make something herself. she spends a lot of the time bartending for the party, as she’s experienced in that. Aaric stays closeby the whole time, helping her, even though he has no idea what he’s doing. he probably didn’t dress up — he doesn’t seem very whimsical.
Results and Going Forward
The winning results of the poll was that this blog will schedule the remaining holiday based questions to post around and on the holidays they were designed for (halloween/fall, new years/xmas, Valentine's). 'Around' means some questions that were made to build up to the holidays (examples: new years eve party celebrations, and then a question made for the day after specifically).
Interspersed between these will be randomly scheduled messages of remaining non-holiday questions, but 'daily' questions will not be happening outside of those. These are variations of existing questions that I hadn't gotten around to posting yet.
I'll be updating the 'About' and pinned post messages as this continues. Once all the questions post, I will have a final post go out to make it clear no more questions will be coming out and make that the new pinned. This blog will become an archive at that point on, free to reblog questions from still.
All of this will take some time to implement.
So! Now for more sentimental words and more. I'll put it under a cut just to separate the needed info from my sappiness.
I don't have a hateful letter to this fandom in regards to this blog. All of you have been consistently polite, kind, and fun to see your responses to these questions. I'm not sure what may have been the general consensus with why this blog popped up, but the reason why I started it was because these are questions we use in my ikemen server. We have a bot there that we load up with questions and scenarios to post, and we originally began doing so to help shy people in the server be able to have some sort of 'excuse' to start rambling about their faves without having to join/start a conversation themselves.
And after we've had that bot for a few years, I thought that maybe people in here would enjoy that 'excuse' to ramble without the fear of having their responses responded to by me, that it was just something they could share on their blog or reply to and lovingly yap about their fave for just a bit. So I took the questions we had and started this blog to see if the questions could encourage people to do so, and that it did!! Over nearly a year, we gathered 154 followers, and that doesn't include whoever just answered the questions when they stumbled upon them. That's so many more than I expected!!! And each of you have been kind and sweet. Reading your responses typically ended up making me chuckle or, for more serious sounding ones, nod along. I really hope I've been able to bring some small joys with this blog, since you guys inadvertently did so for me with your responses!
So, I guess the question today is why would I stop doing it when it's been a happy time for everyone included? Well! Simply put, I am busy. Outside of this blog, I have my writing blog, my ikemen server, the letters blog and server. I have my 40hr a week job, I have friends and family that have been in various states of health or struggles in the past year (that impacted me more than I thought), and more stuff that I do. While this blog was fine when I had a lot of questions, once I started running out of normal ones and had to come up with more, I realized this slowly was becoming a chore of sorts. I disliked how it turned into me feeling stressed trying to make new questions because I misjudged how much of a sharp turn IRL and other fandom fun would take. And as much as I love trying to do something nice, I don't want to do it at the expense of extremely limited leisure time and accidentally turning fandom into a chore for myself. It's only me working on this blog, sans the kind people who submitted some questions in the past, so out of all the things I currently do, this blog was the one that could be 'ended' so I could help myself.
Which. I am bummed about, haha! I truly wanted to make it a full year, March 6th, before pulling the plug. I feel guilty, but I can't let something fun turn into something more negative. I want to leave the blog on a way better note than that.
I will say this: If anyone would like to make a blog of your own that does daily questions regarding these games - please feel free to! This idea was inspired by those 'comfort imagines' accounts, so it's not an original concept. (I just may peek over from time to time to use some questions for fodder for my server qs, and hopefully that will be alright.)
Thank you so much for all of the fun shared here. I usually got to have a serotonin boost every day, and I thank you all so much for that.
Shadows and Screams: A 141 Halloween
Summary: The usually intense Task Force 141 team finds themselves in a night of unexpected scares and laughs as you lead them through a haunted maze set up for Halloween. With creepy sounds, hidden pranks, and even a mysterious figure lurking in the shadows, the night turns into a playful but eerie experience. Even the stoic Ghost can’t resist joining in on the fun, sharing a rare smile that makes the Halloween night one to remember.
Hiii guys I hope you enjoy this spooookyyy fic happy Halloween 👻👻
The barracks had never looked like this before. The usual utilitarian gray walls were transformed with string lights shaped like tiny skulls, flickering in ghostly patterns, and fake cobwebs draped in every corner. A plastic jack-o’-lantern sat on a table piled high with candy, and Halloween-themed music played softly from a speaker in the corner. It was strange seeing this shift from the usual intensity of Task Force 141’s headquarters to something more… festive.
Ghost, the usually stoic and somewhat terrifying lieutenant, was less than impressed. He tugged at his mask, which had a single, poorly taped paper pumpkin on one side.
“Remind me why I’m wearing this again?” Ghost grumbled as you handed him a small bag of candy corn.
“Because it’s Halloween!” you replied, giving him a playful nudge. “Just have some fun for once!”
Price, who had donned a pair of plastic vampire teeth that were too small for his mouth, chuckled. “Come on, Simon. It’s good for morale. Besides, who doesn’t love Halloween?”
Soap, however, was all in. He had managed to find an old zombie costume from the prop closet, complete with a mangled shirt and face paint. “It’s tradition! Halloween’s the one time a year we get to have a bit of fun and scare each other, yeah?”
Gaz snickered, adjusting his plastic devil horns. “Just make sure no one has any actual heart attacks. I don’t fancy having to do CPR tonight.”
You were tasked with organizing the night’s activities, and you had a devilish plan up your sleeve. Knowing Ghost was a bit skeptical about the whole celebration, you’d secretly arranged for a “haunted maze” in the training grounds. It wasn’t much—just a few dark corridors and some creepy sound effects. But you’d enlisted Soap and Gaz to hide and jump out at certain points.
As you led the team toward the “haunted maze,” Soap looked back with a gleam of mischief in his eyes. “So, who’s gonna scream first, eh?”
Price smirked, glancing at Ghost. “My money’s on the big man here.”
Ghost shot him a glare that would’ve scared a ghost away. “Not a chance, Captain.”
You grinned, leading the way through the darkened hallways of the base, where dim lights and echoes created the perfect spooky atmosphere. “Alright, rules are simple: stick together and try not to freak out. And remember, it’s all in good fun.”
Gaz raised an eyebrow. “Are you talking to us or yourself?”
“Both!” you laughed, genuinely a little nervous but eager for the thrill. You’d crafted some decent scares, and even you weren’t sure you’d avoid jumping.
As you walked, a sudden, loud bang echoed from somewhere up ahead, making everyone freeze. Gaz chuckled nervously. “Nice try, but it’s gonna take more than that to—”
Out of nowhere, Soap, dressed like a particularly convincing zombie, leaped out, shrieking in a disturbingly high pitch. Gaz yelped, jumping back, and you couldn’t help but burst out laughing as he tried to regain his composure.
“Bloody hell, Soap!” Gaz clutched his chest, trying to laugh it off. “I swear you’re gonna give me a heart attack one day.”
Price grinned, clearly entertained. Even Ghost, while keeping his usual stoic stance, seemed to relax a bit. However, you noticed his eyes darting to every shadow, just a little on edge.
You continued on, navigating through twists and turns, occasionally lit by flickering candles. As you reached a particularly dark corridor, a faint wailing sound started up—a recording you had set to play from hidden speakers. The wails grew louder and louder, filling the empty space, echoing in your ears. You felt a shiver run down your spine and noticed Soap, who had known about the maze, seemed genuinely creeped out.
Suddenly, a loud clanging came from behind, and all of you spun around to see a figure in the shadows—a strange, tall, cloaked figure with a scythe. None of you had planned for this. You glanced at your team, who all looked equally confused. Price whispered, “This isn’t part of the maze, is it?”
You shook your head, a little freaked out now. “No… it’s not.”
The figure stepped closer, and you could hear the slow, rhythmic thud of its boots against the ground. Your heart pounded as it moved closer, a low growl emanating from it. Without missing a beat, Ghost stepped forward, muttering, “Alright, who’s the idiot trying to scare us?”
When no answer came, Ghost whipped out his flashlight and shone it directly at the figure’s face. But there was… nothing. Just empty darkness where a face should have been.
“What in the world…” Gaz muttered, gripping his sidearm, ready for whatever was coming.
The figure suddenly lunged forward, but Ghost, true to his name, didn’t flinch. He held his ground, his voice steady. “Stand down,” he barked, but the figure kept moving.
Your breath caught as it reached out a skeletal hand toward you. But just as it was about to touch you, Soap tackled it to the ground, only to shout, “It’s fake! It’s just some guy in a suit!”
The figure groaned as Soap ripped off a mask to reveal a very embarrassed-looking rookie who had apparently been sent to join the prank. “Did I get you guys?” he asked, coughing and struggling under Soap’s grip.
Everyone burst out laughing, the tension finally breaking. Even Ghost let out a rare chuckle, shaking his head. “You got me, alright.”
Price pulled the rookie to his feet, clapping him on the back. “Well done, lad. Didn’t see that one coming.”
After that, the night continued with more laughs, scares, and candy, and you could see even Ghost had started to relax. At one point, he nudged you and handed you a small chocolate bar. “Thanks for putting this together,” he said quietly, his eyes softening just a bit behind his mask. “It’s… good to have a break sometimes.”
Your heart skipped a beat as you accepted the candy, grinning up at him. “Glad you’re finally getting into the spirit.”
By the end of the night, the haunted maze was forgotten, and the team gathered around a bonfire outside, sharing ghost stories and laughing together under the Halloween night sky. Ghost even removed his mask—just for a moment—to take a sip of hot chocolate, his face illuminated by the orange glow of the fire. You managed to catch a quick glimpse of his smirk before he pulled the mask back down, hiding his expression.
But even in the dark, you could tell he was smiling.
There's a Will; There's a Way Halloween Special 2024
Dazai Osamu x Reader
Chuuya Nakahara x OC
Halloween Special
Mouse Note: Happy Halloween to all! I hope for more chapters to come soon, we'll see!
“Happy Halloween, everyone!” greeted (Y/N) as more people walked into her apartment—and Dazai’s at this point (they had basically moved in together at this point).
“Happy Halloween,” said Atsushi, smiling. He had dressed up as a werecat, and Akutagawa stood beside him in a priest costume.
(Y/N) smiled at both. She had stopped thinking it strange that Akutagawa always accompanied Atsushi to these sorts of things. Honestly, they came as a pair these days.
“You look really nice,” said Atsushi.
(Y/N) smiled. “Thank you.” She was a fairy, complete with the flowery green dress and the crystallized wings attached to her back.
“She always looks nice,” said Dazai, appearing behind (Y/N) and throwing his arms around her.
(Y/N) smiled and covered his hands with her own to complete the hug even with him behind her. Dazai had on long blue and purple robes—a wizard. (He had to go as something magical to fit with (Y/N), after all).
“Thank you, my dear,” said (Y/N), turning their head and kissing his cheek.
Dazai grinned widely, proud of getting the affection.
“Hi, Dazai,” said Atsushi, smiling.
“Hello, Dazai,” said Akutagawa.
“Hey, Atsushi,” said Dazai.
(Y/N) frowned and pinched his hand.
“Hello, Akutagawa,” said Dazai. He pouted at (Y/N), but she just raised a brow. When she was around, Dazai wasn’t allowed to play his games with Akutagawa when the boy tired to get his attention.
Akutagawa brightened at being acknowledged.
“You two can help yourselves to any candy or drinks you want,” said (Y/N). “We’ve got music, too, but I don’t know if you guys like dancing that much.”
“Thank you,” said Atsushi, smiling.
“Yes, thank you, Miss (Y/N),” said Akutagawa. He didn’t want to be rude to Dazai’s girlfriend.
“Of course,” said (Y/N). “And just call me (Y/N), Akutagawa.” She watched the two boys walk farther into the apartment. “I wonder what’s going on with them. They’ve gotten close.”
“They’re like Chuuya and I, a talented fighting force,” said Dazai, shrugging.
“Uhuh, so they’re definitely…into one another?” said (Y/N). “Like you and Chuuya?”
“…I never told you that,” said Dazai.
“Everyone who meets you knows you two at least had some messy feelings,” teased (Y/N).
“You don’t care?” said Dazai.
“You’re not the type to cheat, so no,” said (Y/N). “Plus, Chuuya is cute.”
“Hey,” whined Dazai.
(Y/N) laughed. “I can say that about Akira, who Chuuya is interested in, and you have to agree with that.”
“Fair enough,” sighed Dazai. He paused. “You and Akira—”
“We definitely had a moment, but it was more just fun. We’re not interested in each other in that way,” said (Y/N). “You know that.” She laughed. “At this point, you and Akira need to kiss, and Chuuya and I need to kiss, and then we’ve completed the square.”
“You’re spending too much time with Akira,” said Dazai, chuckling. “That sounds like her idea.”
“There’s a reason we get along,” said (Y/N), turning around in his arms. She nodded to the kitchen. “But you don’t need to worry, look over there.”
Dazai glanced over and grinned.
Chuuya, dressed as a werewolf, stood with Akira, dressed as a vampire. Chuuya was trying desperately not to look at the cleavage showing in her low-cut dress, but with Akira in heels, Chuuya’s…shorter stature meant his eye-level was precisely there.
“They’re still working things out?” said Dazai.
“If that means not communicating feelings but flirting incessantly whenever they’re near each other, then yes,” laughed (Y/N). “But neither is like that with anyone else, so it’s pretty clearly a relationship to everyone else, if a bit messy.”
“I’m going to hold this over his head,” said Dazai, grinning.
“I’ve still told you no,” said (Y/N).
“But it would be so much fun,” said Dazai.
“You have enough on Chuuya already, I’m sure,” teased (Y/N).
“Fair enough,” said Dazai, grinning. “I’m assuming you also have things on Akira since you’re so close?”
“Oh, yeah,” said (Y/N). “I know way too much about her.” She laughed. “But she knows the same amount about me.”
“Anything scandalous?” said Dazai, smirking.
“How dare you ask me that?” said (Y/N), pretending to gasp. “I’m a lady.”
“I’m sure,” said Dazai, his hands dropping to her waist. “But you’re my lady.”
“Am I?” said (Y/N), smiling.
“Of course,” said Dazai. “You’re mine, and I’m yours.”
“I like that trade,” said (Y/N), smiling.
“I do, too.” Dazai leaned in and kissed her.
(Y/N) let him drag her closer and kissed him return. “I love you,” she whispered against his lips.
“I love you, too,” said Dazai.
These were the moments that mattered the most—the small ones. The domestic ones. The times where (Y/N) and Dazai were just together and happy with their family and friends around them.
summary: Ben Mears is new in town and just trying to work on his latest novel.
cw: 3.3k words, some fun flirty fluff, light smut (18+), dry humping, allusions to actual sex lol, i researched one '70's thing and got tired, fem!reader/oc.
a/n: they bred this boy in a lab to make me need to chew drywall. HAPPY HALLOWEEN MY CHICKIES!! have a fun and safe night!! 👻 xx laney
The record spun tirelessly around the turntable, echoes bouncing off the cavernous library ceilings.
“Mmmm…” Donovan hummed. The guitar cushioning his voice strummed in full force. “Must be the season of the witch…”
“Is it, now?” the night librarian asked, one eyebrow cocked. She reached around the man hunched at the microfilm machine and picked up the dust-laden books he’d already cast aside. He glanced up at her, surprised.
Pulling the thick reading glasses from his nose and rubbing the bridge, he apologized. “I didn’t know anyone was still here! Mabel–Ms. Wertz–said I had the place to myself this evening.” The man stood and crossed to the tiny travel case turntable he’d brought with him, making to remove the needle from the vinyl, but she held up a hand.
“Oh, no, don’t stop it on my account. It’s nice to have something filling up this spooky old place, for once.” She watched the man smile and settle back down at the reading room desk. He was tall and lean, well-dressed, like the men from Boston she saw when she visited her sister at the university. His dark blonde hair fell into curls nearly to his shoulders.
So this is the Ben Mears that everyone can’t stop talking about.
He affirmed the thought for her. “I’m Ben,” he said, with a small, polite smile. It was several seconds before she realized that he was extending his hand for her to shake, not for her to hand back the books she’d cleared away from him. She took the hand and shook. His palm was a bit dry but still soft.
There was a notebook filled with messy scrawl that she couldn’t read in the quick glance she took next to the microfilm, a pen resting on top that looked like it was trying to catch its breath after its user’s furious scribbling. “You’re the author, right? Mr. Big Time,” she grinned, hoping she was coming off cool and worldly, not just another hometown girl who had never left Jerusalem’s Lot, Maine. Population: about ten.
Ben looked down, bashful. “I don’t know about ‘big time.’ I manage, ma’am.”
“Well, anyone who’s managed to leave this town is big time to us, sir.” Ben smiled again, and she decided it was more wistful than anything. The tight proximity and lack of prying eyes around them emboldened her at the same time it made her nervous.
Things had been…strange ever since this outsider had pulled into town in his fancy gold car. The air was chilling the way it always started to at the beginning of October, but it had a different smell to it than usual. No longer did the scent of candied apples, of hay bales and pumpkins and dry cornstalks float past her on her daily afternoon walk to the library; now, it had an acrid tint, almost sanguine at times. Everyone noticed it. The bloody hue that the sky took on at night, crimson against the bright yellow waxing moon, had mothers instructing their little ones to be off the streets hours before the posted curfew.
She had conjured up an image of a big, scary stranger in a long black coat, wearing a hat that concealed his face (and mouthful of fangs, perhaps?), based on all the whisperings and gossip that had followed Mears since he arrived. The actual man looked far less threatening.
But no less intriguing, she thought, as she watched him from behind the circulation desk. He returned to his research and his mug of black coffee, the presence of which would have sent Mabel spinning in her grave prematurely. The night librarian said nothing, though. Just watched him leaf slowly through the volumes to his right and peer through his thick lenses at the microfilm that had only been purchased last year and was already spectacularly behind the times. Just like everything else in the Lot.
Two more hours dragged past, during which she pretended to be working. The radiator in the ancient building picked and chose when to turn on and when not to, and it had not deemed this evening significant enough to be a warm one, so her teeth clacked together while she moved some books aimlessly from one shelf to another. She pulled her cardigan tight around her body. The gentle scribbling of Ben’s pen filled the whole space with nothing else to dampen it. He must have been quite a prodigious author, given the speed with which he was writing.
She was just debating telling him that she generally closed up and went home about half an hour earlier when he saved her the trouble. “Hey, I think I’m all set for the night.” Her head shot up from the book she’d read one line of in the past twenty minutes. Ben was standing at the desk in front of her, arms laden with his research.
“Oh, great! Just about ready to shut things down here,” she replied. Ben thanked her for letting him use the facilities after-hours, then he paused for a second, and she felt a cool thrill run from the base of her spine up to her neck as his eyes locked on hers.
He chuckled and looked away. “What’s, uh…so, what’s fun to do around here at night?” he asked, and a wicked little vision snapped across her mind’s eye that she tried to banish as quickly as possible. Ben’s voice was gravelly with disuse and the lateness of the hour. She tried not to imagine what it must sound like in the morning. “I think I need a beer after trudging through all this.”
“Well, Plymouth Rock’s the only bar in town, if you can even call it that,” she sighed.
“Plymouth Rock?” he laughed, eyebrow cocked. “Last time I checked, that was down in Mass.”
She buried her face in her hands in exasperation then looked up at him with a sheepish grin and said, “You know how they love their pilgrim shit around here.”
Ben’s jaw rolled side to side while he considered something. Nervous tick or absent habit, it wasn’t clear. “You like it there?”
“I do.” A hopeful wick caught flame in her chest, then was snuffed out just as fast when he nodded and started moving towards the door.
“Well, thanks again. Have a good night, miss.”
The poster taped on the inside of the front library doors as Ben pushed through them said, Come back any time!
He stayed late the next night, and the night after that, and the night after that, and went on in that way for weeks. Truth be told, she lost count of how many evenings they spent in relative quiet side by side, Ben diligently reading and writing about God knew what while she hummed along to his records and tidied the library beyond recognition (there was nothing else to do; her closing duties usually took her about fifteen minutes). On her days off, she missed the scratch of his pen on paper, and prayed that she might bump into him on the street.
The moonlight pouring in through the window tonight was the reddest it had been yet. It cast everything in a bizarre bloodbath. Even Ben, sitting at his usual desk with his collar unbuttoned and glasses slid down to the end of his nose, looked a little bit sinister in the colorwash.
He had brought her a steaming paper cup of apple cider when he had arrived. “Seemed like a good night for it,” he had shrugged as he passed it to her and took a sip from his own. “Oh, and happy Halloween, I guess!”
She wandered over to him, swirling the dregs of her cider, trying to make it last. Ben glanced up and smiled. “What are we working on tonight?” she inquired and perched on the edge of his desk. He huffed.
“Not sure I know anymore,” he muttered. His eyes were locked on the microfilm, scanning through articles at lightning speed. She hummed in interest and kicked her legs back and forth gently. Ben sat back in his chair and removed his glasses, then rubbed the heels of his hands into his eyes with a groan. She tried and failed not to look at the length of him, stretched out before her. He’d worn a soft-looking green plaid flannel shirt and corduroy pants that could have fit less snugly. “Doesn’t a pretty lady like yourself have anything better to do on Halloween night?” he asked, and a stupid blush crept across her nose and cheeks despite her efforts to not react.
“Nothing so interesting as watching you,” she teased back, and Ben grinned. She had quite gotten over her apprehension towards the stranger. No, he wasn’t a stranger anymore, he was Ben, who had overnight gotten her excited about her podunk little job in this podunk little town, who came to her for any questions he had because he knew that she wouldn’t gossip about it later on. They got on well. Real well.
“About as interesting as watching paint dry,” he said wryly. His eyes ran over his usual mess of books and notepads and pencils on the desk, then drifted over to her legs. She almost missed it, but she couldn’t help feeling a flick of heat as his gaze raked down the brown tights she was wearing. Her skirt had ridden up to the middle of her thighs, and she fought the urge to fiddle with the hem.
A moment of silence where they both smiled at the ground was broken as she cleared her throat and said, “I read that book you told me to.”
“Oh, yeah?”
“Mhmm.” She nodded proudly. “It was painful, Mears.”
Ben faked being aghast. “What?! You didn’t like it?”
“You’ve got some pretty dull taste, mister. A guy moaning about his loving wife and perfect life for two-hundred and forty-seven pages?” She stuck her tongue out at him and he laughed outright. “Give me Vonnegut and some colorful fucking insanity any day of the week.”
“Never read anything except Slaughterhouse.”
“Well, fix that!”
“Yes, ma’am.” His chin was propped up on one hand as he winked up at her. He loved calling her “miss” or “ma’am”–it drove her crazy, because, as she had told him one night with a swift whack to his head with a stack of newspapers, she wasn’t one of the dowdy old matrons that made up the rest of the library staff. She scolded him once more and he took it with a smile, unphased.
God, the way he looked at her, sometimes. It was enough to make the head of a much more urbane, cosmopolitan woman spin, let alone a girl who hadn’t dated anyone that she hadn’t also graduated from high school with. She sighed exaggeratedly and continued swinging her legs back and forth, hoping he’d be enticed to glance at them again. “I’ll probably be off soon, but you’re more than welcome to–”
“Oh, no, come on, stay with me,” Ben suddenly pleaded, throwing down the pencil he had just picked up and swiveling his chair to face her. “It’s so nice to have company in this place…it gives me the downright creeps when you’re not here.” Heat rushed through her whole body, lips pressing together to suppress the beam of pleasure she wanted to show him.
She cocked her head to one side. “How ‘bout we lock up and you buy me a drink and we talk about Vonnegut, instead?”
He balked. “I already bought you a drink,” he reminded her, reaching out to tap the cup still clutched in her hand. She scrunched up her nose at him.
“And it was good, but it didn’t cause me to make any bad decisions, so not quite the type of drink I’m after.” The boldness in her words surprised her even as they were leaving her mouth. She prayed they had sounded casual, non-specific.
Ben rolled his chair closer still to her, until he was almost between her legs, though they weren’t parted far enough to reveal anything her skirt couldn’t cover. Her back straightened involuntarily. Snatching up his glasses from beside her, he put them back on and regarded her through them.
“I’m right in the middle of this fucker of a section,” he began, and she snorted at his disdain for his own creation. “Give me half an hour and I’ll gladly close up shop with you.”
She wanted to say, Ben Mears, what I’d do to give you a half an hour, but she opted for, “Deal. Clock’s ticking, though! We can’t let it hit midnight, or all the spooky ghosties will come and get us.”
“Is that how that works, miss?” The sweet crinkles at the corners of his eyes appeared again with his amused grin. She nodded gravely and he shrugged, turning back to the microfilm and cranking the dial.
Quiet minutes ticked past, during which she did not move from her position next to him. She picked up books that he had been using and flicked with mild interest through a volume of Maine history, 1782-1800. Very mild interest. After about ten minutes, Ben slammed his hands down on the desk and scared a yelp out of her.
“Sorry, sorry!” he said through a laugh while she clutched her heart and glared at him. “I can’t do any more. My brain is melting into something unrecognizable. And so is this book.” She tsk’ed.
“That’s not true. Read me the last line you wrote,” she instructed, and he sighed, but complied.
She didn’t catch a single word of what he read to her, though, because as soon as he began reciting the beginning of his final paragraph, his hand absently slid across the few inches of space between him and her leg. He started rubbing his thumb over her knee while he read, clearly unconscious of what he was doing, and it made the sparks that shot through her leg shock her all the more. She looked down at his hand, her body frozen by the casualness of it all.
Finally, she managed to make her lips work enough to squeak out, “Ben.”
“It was during that year that a record twenty-thousand–what?”
He turned to her. His hand was still resting on her knee like it was the most natural thing in the world.
“Nothing.” It was barely a whisper. Then, Ben seemed to notice that he was touching her with more familiarity than either of them had yet exhibited with each other, and he made to withdraw it quickly, but she had the presence of mind enough to shoot out her own hand and clasp his in place.
Her hand closed over his, shackling it to her leg like she’d let it remain there for all eternity. They gazed at each other.
She considered how the rumors would fly if Mabel caught even a whiff of something improper going down in her library.
Oh, what the fuck. It was her library, too, after all. And Ben’s eyes were boring into her and he was swallowing thickly, like he was trying to stop himself from saying something.
She said it for him. In one fluid motion, she hopped off the desk and slid easily into his lap, legs straddling either side of his hips, then Ben grabbed the back of her neck and brought her lips to his. They crashed together with a fury, all the weeks of flirting and kindness and shiny-newness that having a crush brought swelling and bursting out through their mouths as they kissed, desperate, hungry. His tongue pushed against her bottom lip and she gladly welcomed it, licking it with her own and tasting the cider that she no doubt carried traces of, too.
“Jesus,” Ben breathed as she pulled away first, both of them panting slightly. His arms had circled around her back, one hand still holding her neck and the other resting right where her bra clasp was. She would have giggled if she wasn’t so desperate to be pressed against him again.
With abandon, she grasped the sides of his face and pulled their mouths together. Ben groaned into the kiss, his hands traveling down her back to rest at her hips and pulling them more flush with his. He was already starting to stiffen, she could feel it, and it alleviated some of the embarrassment she felt at already being so aroused she could scream.
They muttered each other’s names through gasps and moans while she hurriedly fumbled with the buttons on his shirt and pushed it off his shoulders. The soft cotton of his undershirt still felt like too much fabric for him to be wearing, but her efforts were halted when he interjected with his own and pulled her thick sweater over her head. Static electricity shot through her hair as it came off and Ben gave a small “gah!” when his fingers were shocked.
“Totally electrifying,” she giggled at him, and he rolled his eyes, but his unwavering smirk betrayed him.
“We aren’t gonna…” He glanced around the empty library. The only light source now was the small lamp illuminating the desk and the blood-red moonlight outside. “...in the library, are we?”
She pouted. “Oh, aren’t we?” Ben’s grin was more devilish than she’d ever seen it. She could almost believe that he was concealing something supernatural and malevolent with that grin.
“I don’t want you to lose your job.”
“They won’t know.”
“Yeah, but I’ll know.” Ben wrapped his arms around her again and stood, lifting her back onto the desk and slotting himself fully between her open and waiting legs. He had to bend at the waist in order to be at eye level with her. “And I’ll never be able to get an ounce of work done here again if it’s the first place we ever fuck, ma’am.”
Every body part of hers that could tremble, did. She briefly considered whether or not they could go to her place, but then she thought of her three housemates, and how much scandal would be generated if she pulled the handsome newcomer in through the front door by his shirt and up the stairs.
And his accommodations were out of the question. The boarding house landlady famously did not allow visitors into her rented rooms. “Dammit,” she muttered aloud. To buy more time, she kissed Ben and slid her hand down his abdomen until she reached the bulge in his pants. He moaned in pained lust when she grasped it and stroked gently over the clothing.
Swatting her hand out of the way, he leaned forward until their hips were flush with one another’s, deepening the kiss further. “Ben!” she gasped. He started bucking his hips into her now aching and fluttering core, and the friction from his trousers and her thin tights and underwear made her bury her face in his shoulder and cry. They kept it up, grinding desperately on each other, her legs locked around his waist so there wasn’t an inch of space between them.
“Fuck, God, keep doing that,” Ben moaned into her mouth. His cock was straining hard against the khaki-colored corduroy.
Whatever record had been playing quietly in the background had long since ended, and the gentle “sch, sch, sch,” of the rotating vinyl was the only other sound echoing around the room. At least, it was, until the old clocktower let out a startlingly loud “GONG”, followed by eleven more. They jolted apart, panting, both of their hearts racing from the sudden noise as well as the fevered humping.
Their eyes were locked for the entirety of the bell’s tolling, and when it had finished, Ben smirked that suggestive, evil smirk and said, “Midnight on All Hallow’s Eve. Think any ghoulies or ghosties are gonna come get us?” She bit her lip and smacked his chest lightly. Then, her eyes widened.
“It’s Halloween.”
“Yes, ma’am.” Ben had leaned back into her and was kissing, more languidly this time, from her collarbone to just behind her ear.
“My housemates are at a party across town right now.”
Never in the history of their publication had unshelved books been tidied up faster.
