HEY that's my emotional support not-even-a-cult-classic stage musical that was poorly received, a complete flop, and by all accounts a waste of money that I have never seen and quite possibly never will because it may never be produced again but regardless it has changed my life!

I’ve been listening to Hansel for the past year and I want to tell you what i think happened in the song

In the music video Hansel looks like a rat. I think in the world that Hansel lives in is mainly populated by rats

Hansel is born into a world were he looks like everybody else. He has very normal interests, so he doesn’t stand out. Hansel wants attention but can’t get any because of his sister

He starts off by asking for help and trying to make friends to no avail

So he starts doing dangerous stunts to get attention,even if it hurts him. He puts on a jester hat and a cape, but the people don’t care they keep looking at his sister

Hansel continued his stunts for years. Slowly over time his injuries start to change him.

He loses his teeth and has to get them replaced by big yellow ones. He breaks his nose, now it’s all weird and flabby. He gets tattoos (the triangles on his belly). He hurts his ears so badly to the point we’re he had to get them removed. Even after all of this, he never stoped his stunts.

Sooner or later he loses his arms and gets them replaced with wings. Hansel has a wonderful idea of a new stunt he can do. Now that he has wings, he can fly!

One day he climbs up a cliff in front of a crowd of rats, Then he jumps. Hansel expected to glide above the crowed, but instead he falls. on the way down he hits branches and rocks then he hits the ground, killing him.

At his funeral many rats show up a cry over his death. Instead of being sad he is happy to see rats finally give him attention, It’s like his own little party. Even though he’s happy he is also kinda sad that it took him dying to finally to be noticed.

And according to the song “ Gretel ” by sodikken Hansel also goes to hell

Being in London is a constant stream of "Hey! That reminds me of a Doctor Who episode!"

I went to the Globe Theatre today (well, it's a replica, not the original, but it stands on the original site) and all I could think was "This is the building from that one Doctor Who episode!"

102 years ago today, the German composer Engelbert Humperdinck (1854-1921) died. His opera “Hansel and Gretel” is still one of the most popular operas and for many children it is their first encounter with the world of opera. On this colored postcard from 1895 we see the composer's children, which the card publisher has with Humperdinck's permission was allowed to publish.

Caution while googling:

Nothing comes up if you spell Grotesque Requords as is. Google will try to redirect you to Grotesque Records, which is an unrelated producer of horror/gore inspired music (with gorey album covers). If you want the actual Gretel and Hansel OST you need to type in “Grotesque Records Gretel and Hansel”, and you should be able to find it. Hopefully if enough people google the soundtrack Google will fix it one day…

Found some of my favorites. (I got to rewatch The Covenant. It got me into all the actors. Plus, I liked it and I really don’t like horror.)

Oklahoma! Is my favorite musical followed by Les Mis. Which I also have the movie. I found my copy of Adam Lambert and Val Kilmer’s The Ten Commandments Musical. I’ve been having fun putting them away and finding DVDs I forgot about.
