2013, Yas Marina Circuit

Jenson values his rest which is why lights were off as soon as it hits 8pm. Everyone knows that this was his schedule during the race weekend so why the hell is someone knocking at his door at 10:40 in the evening. He was about to shout and give this person a screaming but all the irritation disappeared when he saw Y/N at the door.

She was disheveled, an uncommon sight to him. As far as Jenson remembered, Y/N always try to make an effort to look as if she is well-composed even when the whole Multi 21 incident was happening last year. Jenson swears he remembered how she looked happy and excited when they parted ways earlier. What the fuck happened in a matter of hours?

“Jesus Christ, Y/N what is going on” Jenson was immediately awake.

He checked her for bruises fearing that someone laid a hand on her. To his relief there weren’t any. The puffy red eyes were a point of concern because there were only so little things that could make her cry like that.

“Can I stay here? I don’t know where else to go”she finally spoke.

“Of course, get in”

Jenson shuffled to make way for her inside. He was careless to let her stand in the hallway for so long but he didn't miss the implication of her sentence. Why would she say that she has nowhere to go if Sebastian is always there for her? Jenson has witnessed it several times how the Red Bull driver would drop anything to take care of her.

A thought crossed Jenson's mind but that would be impossible. He knew Sebastian would never break up with Y/N, the man would rather get run over by a car than lose her.

“I can prepare you a cup of tea. You should change to some clothes, I have some of our team kit in my closet that may fit you”Jenson suggested.

Y/N sits on the floor of the hotel blankly with tears streaming down her face. It was a scene that tugged the heart of Jenson deeply. If he could do anything to take that pain away then he would.

“C'mon Y/N, lets get you out of this clothes. You take a quick shower then lets talk” Jenson encourages.

The girl was running on autopilot and Jenson was scared. This was the first time that he encountered Y/N to be in this type of state. He has the idea to message if which one of the idiots in Red Bull fought again but he thought it would be best to hear it out from Y/N herself.

When Y/N stepped out of the shower with dry clothes, Jenson was already done with the tea. He led Y/N to sit on one of the couches and Jenson took a sit next to her. It was a few minutes of silence as they sip their tea until Jenson finally caved in.

“Talk to me, whats happening”Jenson begged.

Y/N's deadpanned expression turned to face Jenson. She seems to struggle which one she would tell first or how will she narrate the story. Jenson holds her hand as a form of comfort.

“I went to dinner with Hanna”Y/N found her voice

Jenson tried to recall any Hanna that he knew about. His face scrunched up in his heavy thinking and Y/N noticed that.

“Its Sebastian’s childhood friend”Y/N added.

“Oh its that blonde one right?”Jenson remembered “She used to be here for a few races“

There was silence again from the female Webber. It was frustrating Jenson and he wished he could just mindread the thoughts going on in her head.

“Turns out she is pregnant”she sighs.

Jenson's face contorted to one with confusion. Why would it matter if Sebastian's childhood friend is pregnant? What does it have to do with anything that's happening? Unless...

“No shit, are you fucking serious?" Jenson puts one and one together

It felt like he was being pranked right now and any second the camera crews will get out of their hiding. He wanted everything to be a one big joke but the room remained silent and tears continue to stream down her face.

Jenson wanted to get up and give that Vettel a piece of his mind but he stopped as he looked at Y/N. Leaving her on her own is not the best decision so he just enveloped her in a hug.

“I don’t know Jenson, its so fucked up” Y/N’s voice was faltering as she tries to stop her tears “Was everything just a lie? All those times he was wooing me and now I found out he has a fucking kid with somebody?”

Y/N wiped her tears and she let out a fake laughter. All the emotions are going haywire now.

“Hanna is 6 months along… It ties up around the time of the Spain GP, just before my fucking birthday”Y/N explained.

The scenes were starting to connect with each other. He remembered the earlier conversation with Sebastian about the big mistake he did. He should have seen this coming and punched Sebastian.

“That fucking twat”he mutters.

“I don’t know what to fucking do Jenson, I don’t know what to think anymore”

“Just talk to me, I’m listening”

But frankly, Jenson’s thoughts were filled with regrets. It shatters Jenson because this was the only thing he begged Sebastian, he begged him to take care of Y/N and Sebastian cannot even follow simple directions. If he knew that this is how things would have ended up between the two of them then he should have just tried his best to woo Y/N.

He felt so useless with everything, and he could just only be a comforting shoulder for Y/N.

“She begged me Jenson. She asked if I could talk to Sebastian because the kid needs a father” Y/N narrated “How can I live with that memory in my head that if I allowed myself to be happy then I’m depriving a kid of their father. And Jenson, I love Sebastian. I really love him”

Jenson could feel his heart silently shatter by that confirmation. With everything said and done, Y/N loves Sebastian. It was the reason why she felt so hurt by the whole thing because she loved him. He wanted to ask which God decided to play a cruel joke on him. Having to see the girl he loves the most crying over a man who didn't deserve her when he was there all along and could treat her better.

2013, Circuit of The Americas

Sebastian arrived at the circuit earlier than usual. He has been feeling a bit tense the past few days. Ever since Abu Dhabi, Y/N seems to be avoiding him. She didn't reply to her text messages, she flied out early, and she seems to not be present in the garage during the races. Some may say that it was just all a coincidence and that maybe Y/N was just busy but something was bugging Sebastian about the situation.

So he was hellbent to find some answers today. He headed out to the McLaren garage to talk to Jenson or even try to talk to Y/N.

Some McLaren staffs were preparing the car and they pointed at hush whispers to see the Red Bull driver in their garage.

"Hi goodmorning. Can anyone point me to where Y/N or Jenson is, I just have to speak to any of them and its really important" Sebastian greeted.

The staffs look at each other seemingly wary about his request. Little did Sebastian know but Jenson had a lengthy message before their arrival at COTA that Sebastian Vettel should not be allowed to speak with anyone in McLaren especially to Y/N.

"Did anyone not hear me? I'm asking where is Y/N or Jen-"

"What do you need me for?"Jenson appeared as if on cue.

Sebastian let out a sigh of relief upon seeing his friend. He was about to give him a hug but then Jenson's face seems to be filled with irritation.

"Are you okay? You look mad?" Sebastian pointed out.

"Mad? I'm mad?"Jenson fakes a laughter "Oh I am extremely happy Sebastian. I am fucking ecstatic"

"Seriously what's going on, why are you acting weird?"

Something about what Sebastian said pushed Jenson to the edge. The next thing he knows, Jenson was tackling him and they were engaged in a physical altercation. The McLaren employees were quick on their feet to seperate the two of them but Jenson was still lunging to get a punch towards Sebastian.

It was a good thing that there was no media around at this time or else this would have been a huge scandal. Only the employees of the team are present in the garages so this could be contained.

"What the fuck is your problem?"Sebastian roared.

"You're the fucking problem"Jenson shouts back "You are a fucking piece of shit"

The McLaren staffs tried to subdue Jenson but he seems to be adamant to get out of their hold. Sebastian could see in his peripheral view that some of the Red Bull staffs are running to get their driver out.

"We fucking know Sebastian, we know what you did"

And the color suddenly leaves Sebastian's body. His mind running a million thoughts, how the fuck did Jenson know? He stood there frozen unable to defend himself because he knows it was just right for Jenson to punch him. Hell, he deserves worse.

"What did you do Sebastian?"Britta wondered "Are you hurt Seb? Do you want to file a complaint?"

Sebastian shakes his head "Let's just go and leave".

"Yeah and stay the fuck away"Jenson warns.

Some McLaren employees were begging Jenson to stop and think of his rash actions' consequences. They may have physically restrained Jenson but his eyes followed Sebastian as if it was shooting daggers. Sebastian cannot shake the feeling of it even in the comforts of the Red Bull motorhome.

There were lots of things that Sebastian wanted to say. He wanted to tell Jenson that it was an accident and he had too much to drink which is why it happened. He wanted to ask how did he find out and who is the we that he is talking about.

His heart drops upon realizing the weird behavior of Y/N the past few days. Oh fucking shit, she knows.

2013, Autódromo José Carlos Pace

It was the morning before the free practice. The sun was still rising but Y/N managed to find herself early in the garage. Everything was still a bit empty, a big contrast to how the place would be packed in a few hours. With plenty of time to kill, she decided to take a walk around the track.

There was an empty feeling that there was no one by her side. She was so used over the years that there was always a driver by her side. It may be Mark discussing about the family and some kids he is mentoring. It can be Jenson who is busy winking and waving at the fans. And of course, Sebastian, the one who talks her ear off about the winners and the iconic scenes around the track.It feels a bit lonely to walk the tracks by herself.

In light of the recent events, she has been a bit lonely. Sebastian was someone she was ignoring for the obvious reasons. Jenson is someone she talks to for work duties but other than that he is on timeout after his outrage in COTA. Mark is also off the table because she might end up crying and Mark ends up doing something stupid such as crashing Sebastian on purpose.

Seb <3: Please let me talk to you. Seb<3: It’s the end of the season and I don’t want us to go to our winter break with this heaviness on our shoulder. Seb <3: Just please let me explain. Let’s talk about this

The same kind of messages have been circulating ever since the COTA incident. There was not a day that goes by that Sebastian is messaging her asking if they could talk about things. She has to hand it to him that he doesn't give up even if she was radio silent.

What's bugging her is how everyday she is itching to go talk to him. A side of her knows that whatever he has to tell her will never justify the whole thing. Sebastian still hid the truth about sleeping with someone and he betrayed the trust they shared. However, there was a part screaming inside of her to hear him out. It was honestly frustrating to end up in this position that it got her falling apart.

Funny how the mere thought of him causes tears to fall from her eyes and still she wanted to see him. Its so fucking stupid.

She hurriedly tried to find a towel or handkerchief because when she cries it was far from pretty sight with the tears and the snot. There were people coming around the track so it would be pretty bad if anyone sees her. God, she would hate herself to be pictured by the media and have to explain why she is crying to Mark.

"Here, you need this" A hand suddenly extended to her offering a handkerchief.

The first that she did was wipe her eyes to clear her vision and then blow her nose to help her breathe again. Y/N looked up and she was surprised to see a familiar face.

"Jules, oh my god this is quite embarrassing. I'm sorry you have to see me like this"Y/N fuzzes “I am seriously not like this always”

The last time that she met Jules by her own was in Monaco. She remembered how she was also upset and confused during that time. It seems like its becoming a habit that Jules sees her when she is feeling down.

"Oh no, nothing to be sorry about"Jules assured

“You always carry a handkerchief or do you have a dora backpack that carries everything you need?”Y/N tried to joke around.

Jules let out a soft chuckle clearly understanding the reference.

“Would have loved that Dora bag but”Jules shared“its actually my old man told me that I should always carry one so that I can lend it to someone crying or needing to use it to blow their nose”

“That’s very specific and I feel targeted by those statements”

He just held up his hand high in surrender with a smile. It was a joy to have Jules presence because it lifted her spirits even for a moment.

“Wanna walk with me?”Y/N wondered.

“Sure”

Small conversation were shared between the two of them as they walk. Jules gave an update about Charles, who Y/N notes to be ranking up in his career. The conversation was a distraction for Y/N but Jules can't help but notice the disposition of the girl a while ago.

"I don't mean to pry but you seem to have a lot going on in your mind"Jules pointed out "Maybe you could talk to me about it"

Y/N musters a small smile "That bad huh?"

"We can sit down at the side of the track if you like so you can tell me what's going on"Jules offered.

"There's nothing going on"

But she knows her voice is weak and it betrays her. Even, she was unconvinced by the sentence she just uttered. There was clearly a lot going on.

Skepticism was apparent in Jules' face however he nods his head in understanding. He knows that if Y/N doesn't want to talk about it then he won't force her to talk about it. He continues walking with her and Y/N appreciates that.

"But can I ask you a hypothetical question?" Y/N quizzed.

"Go on"

There were a lot of tell-tale signs that Y/N was nervous with the way she was fiddling with her necklace and how she avoids eye contact. Jules turned to her and stopped. He put his hands on Y/N's shoulders to keep her from shaking.

"Hey, you don't have to say anything if you aren't ready to talk about it"Jules assured "Don't stress on it"

"But I need help" there was the cry of distress.

"Okay then lay out the hypothetical situation"Jules encouraged.

"Okay hypothetically speaking, what does it mean if you got a girl pregnant and that girl is not your girlfriend. And still you want to talk and explain to your girlfriend. Do you still love your girlfriend? Why do you want to talk to your girlfriend?"

Jules seems bewildered by the whole story as he seems to curse in french under his breath. He just couldn't fathom how Y/N has been placed in such a deep shit situation.

"Please tell me you are not pregnant" Jules begged.

"I AM NOT!"

"You're not cheating?"

"For the record, this is a hypothetical situation"Y/N reminded "But to answer your question, im not cheating"

A sigh of relief escaped Jules as one of his hands massaged the temple on his head to relieve the incoming headache. He didn't want to ask anything anymore and he will just treat it as air quotes hypothetical.

"First of all, hypothetical or not, it is wrong to cheat on your partner. It should have never happened in the first place if a person truly loves their partner"Jules cleared.

An immediate frown graced Y/N's face as it confirms her earlier thoughts.

"However, there may be a reason as to why it happened. I have heard how some people had done it because they were drunk and did not know what they were doing. Others are actual serial cheaters who has done this several times. There are certain degrees of the crime and I think the next course of action should take it into account"Jules reasoned out.

Y/N remembered how Hanna mentioned that this just happened one time. It was just an extremely unfortunate situation that Sebastian knocked her up that one time they slept together. Jules explanation made valid points.

"If its one time?"

"Why not go talk about it and maybe they could work on it"Jules replied.

It was quite funny to even hear that suggestion. She never could have seen herself getting over the cheating incident so how could they work on it?

"Will things ever work with something as big as cheating?"Y/N questioned.

The driver just nods, "Yeah when you love someone. You can look past their biggest mistakes and flaws because you love them. Its why people tell us love makes us stupid at some point"

Love truly makes us stupid, a fitting sentence to embody Y/N right now.

"I think the best course of action is to hear what he has to say. If this is a one time thing then maybe you can forgive him and then you two can work this out. Or maybe you can take your time and not forgive him. Whatever works for you"Jules added.

"This is all a hypothetical situation remember"Y/N reminded.

A laughter comes out of Jules and he nods his head in agreement.

"Of course Y/N, everything is all hypothetical"

The two continued with their walk without a hitch. People are starting to enter and they made a good decision to head back to their respective garages.

"And this is my stop, thanks for a wonderful morning Jules"Y/N hugged Jules in front of the McLaren garage.

"Not a problem, you were a joy to walk with"

"Really even with the crying and all my hypothetical questions?"Y/N joked

"Yeah even then"Jules agreed " and I hope you aren't too troubled anymore next time we meet"

"I'll return your handkerchief then maybe you're the one needing it next time around"

The two waved goodbye to each other. Y/N reached out for her phone and she started to type. Her head was a bit clear now and maybe the talk with Jules gave her a bit of braveness to do this.

Y/N: Okay. I'll hear you out one time. Meet me after the race. You set the place.

It's hard for me to picture Shuji as the shy type for anything (unless he's pretending/being playful). Generally, I think he'd be cock-hungry more than anything. I HC Hanma as being horribly touch starved, and this does extend to his sexuality as well. He ends up begging for your dick regardless of what you're busy with (or who you're around 😐)

I can definitely imagine Shuji play fighting or wrestling for dominance though, or sort of acting out/being a brat, maybe pretending like he doesn't want your dick, but it's easy to see right past that facade 😅

OA tries to give a shit about Scott Forrester’s feelings, really he does. It’s clear you meant a lot to each other in the past, that Scott still bears the weight of the attack. OA can’t blame him, he would too. He tries to take all of that into consideration when he deals with the other man because it’s hard for him being around you, it’s hard for you too. You’ve started having nightmares again.

It’s when Scott suggests using you as the delivery girl for international sex trafficker Colin Kent that OA finally snaps.

“Hanna fits their target demographic, she looks young, vulnerable…” Scott’s face remains stoic as he says the next part, his arms folded over his chest as he leans back against the desk. “You need to channel what happened to you, use it make yourself as non-threatening as possible.”

OA sees the effect it has on you. It’s subtle shift but OA can read you like a book. He sees the tension in your shoulders, the clenching of your jaw. The fingers of your left hand curl into a fist and he can see the light tremble there when you flex them. It makes him want to punch Scott Forrester right in the mouth.

“He likes beautiful women.” Scott reminds them as he meets OA’s eyes, as if he can forget everything Kent orchestrated back in New York. He still dreams about Julia’s blood smeared all over his hands, he still hears her last breath. “He’ll step out to get a look at Hanna, she’s just his type.”

OA fucking hates him in that moment.

He waits until you leave the building before he storms into the other man’s office, slamming the door so hard behind him that the glass shakes in the frame. He can tell from the expression Scott’s face that he half expected this reaction.

“You don’t get to do this to her again.” He finds himself snarling as he jabs his finger at Scott. “You don’t get to revictimize her…”

“This is our best chance…” Scott begins but OA’s already cutting him off.

“But it’s not the best thing for Hanna.”

“Do you think I don’t know that? Do you think I don’t see the look in her eyes?” Scott snaps, vivid blue eyes boring into OA’s. “I’m asking her to do the exact same thing as I did back then and it makes me sick to my stomach.”

It’s the emotion in Scott’s voice that catches him off guard, the haunted look in his eyes. That devastation OA feels in his chest, Scott has it tenfold because he’s re-living what happened six years ago, the last time he asked you to go undercover.

“If there was any other way I’d do it.” Scott tells him, his palms resting flat on his desk. “But Vo’s too green and Natalia’s not the right fit… It has to be Hanna.”

Every single part of OA rallies against it despite the fact he knows that Scott’s right. He hates it, he hates this whole damn case.

“I am trusting you.” OA tells Scott, his voice raw as he speaks. “I am trusting you with the most precious thing in my life, if anything happens to her…”

Scott reads the undertone.

If you let something happen to her again…

“That’s why you’re coming with us.” Scott tells him, removing his Glock from the desk drawer and slipping it into his holster. “You’re going to make sure I don’t fail her again.”

☆ Just gotta say one thing… this man was in his prime life in the 2000s…. He was listening to songs that are older than me 🥸

☆ okay Megumi canonically listens to weezer so i think he got some of his music taste from Toji. (i think almost everyone that develops a liking for rock gets it from childhood roadtrips with their dad)

☆ Toji only plays his music in the car.. he can’t stand the radio. …100% played buddy holly and meg picked up on it

☆ it’s mostly alternative and rock with the occasional hip/hop songs but he doesn’t really like new music, he’s an oldie after all

☆ he definitely listens to Coldplay oh my god i think that would probably be one of his favorite bands bc their songs are soft and helps him fall asleep (literally me)

It absolutely kills your mood but he laughs his ass off when you’re in the middle of fucking and all of a sudden the speakers are blaring “you get the limo out front… hottest styles, every shoe, every color.”

☆ Okay Toji is the type of guy to not play music in the shower bc he’s a psycho and just takes 3 minute showers (we all know he doesn’t wanna rack up that water bill) BUT when he does.. it’s a quick playlist filled with songs he doesn’t really like so he can hurry up and get out.

EOTE HEIGHT HEAD CANNONS FOR THE NINJA!!!!

Ok so a while ago I was doing my best to design Hanna and I eventually got sidetracked and made a whole ass height chart for the ninja. Note: the silhouettes I used for everyone except Hanna are traces and solid color fill ins of someone else's art. I forget who made it, but the only one that is mine is Hanna's.

To break it down:

Nya is Five feet Five inches, or 165.1 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units. I didn't think Nya was super duper short but I didn't think she was super tall either so I made her just a bit above the average.

Jay is Five feet Eight inches, or 172.72 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units. I made him shorter than the others bc I firmly believe he just is shorter. And yeah ik that 5'8" isn't short but more like the avg but I say he's short bc he's standing next to the others who are literal giants.

Hanna is Five feet Ten inches, or 177.8 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units. She is a tall girl because of her Harmonizer (not human) genetics, plus her dad is also freakishly tall so girlie got the tall genes.

Kai is Five feet Eleven inches, or 180.34 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units. I also feel like Kai is the type to say he's 6ft tall even if he's an inch shorter just because he wants to.

Lloyd is Six feet One inch, or 185.42 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units. Yes ik the fandom says Lloyd is short bc of the tomorrows tea thing in Childs Play s2, but tbh, bro is literally part Oni and Dragon. Those sons of bitches are hella tall. So respectfully, fuck anyone who hates me for making him tall.

Zane is Six feet Two inches, or 187.96 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units. He's a nindroid. That's all I have to say.

Cole is Six feet Four inches, or 193.04 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units. I am with the fandoms head cannon of Cole being a big guy, it's clear from the show he's the oldest (technically) and that he has natural super strength. Plus in s8 when we see how Wu found Cole prior to the Pilot Episodes bro already had a six pack WITHOUT training. And then the beach type episode in s2 bro had an 8 pack and continued to have one through the entire show basically. So, my Cole is a buff as fuck giant of a dude who looks like he could kill you but is actually a cinnamon roll.

Wu is Six feet on the dot as an old man, or 182.88 centimeters. But in his prime, like the adult Wu we saw in s9 (Hunted) was Six feet Three inches, or 190.5 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units. Idk why I chose this specifically, I just did.

Misako is Five feet Five inches, or 165.1 centimeters like Nya. I just like this head cannon. Idk why.

Garmadon is tricky:

Sensei Garmadon(Old Garm from s3 &s4 plus a little bit from s5) was Six feet Two inches or 187.96 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units. He doesn't hunch as much as Wu does in my mind, so he's Zane's height.

Lord Garmadon from the Pilot Episodes was Six feet Four inches, or 193.04 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units. He grew some in his transformation from human to partial Oni but not much.

Lord Garmadon from s1 and s2 was Six feet Seven inches, or 198.12 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units. He grows so much because he gained two arms and shifted into mostly Oni. I say mostly Oni because it's my HC that Garm didn't have only the Oni genes being expressed until Harumi resurrected only that side of him.

Emperor Garmadon from s8 and afterwards was Seven feet Five inches, or 226.06 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units. This is his Oni expression height, but not the height of his Oni form.

Oni Form Garmadon from both S10 and s16 is Nine feet Four inches, or 284.48 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units. Ik Oni height, according to Mythology can range from 8 to 14 feet (243.84cm to 426.72cm) and I would've made Garm taller but you also have to remember his Oni genes are mixed with Dragon and Human. Oni Garm's horns are eight inches tall, making him Ten feet on the dot or 304.8 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units.

Oh and, Adult Human Garmadon was Six feet Five inches, or 195.58 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units.

Again, would've made him taller but the show so obviously has it to where Lloyds otherworldly genes mostly expressed are his Dragon heritage, not his Oni side bc he stuffs it down. This height is only to his head, his horns add another foot making him Ten feet Two inches, or 309.88 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units.

Hanna's Harmonizer form is Seven feet Six inches, or 228.6 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units. I'll drop Harmonizer lore at some point that helps explain this. Her antlers/horns give her another five inches making her Seven feet Eleven inches, or 241.3 centimeters for those who don't use freedom units.

Greek love styles as applied to Touka and Nemu

Welcome one and all to another instance of “Nahi rambles on and on about the blorbos”! This time, brought to you by my friend @abarero (her very lovely essay on this same topic except applied to Mikoto and Hanna inspired this). For those of you unfamiliar with the Greek styles of love, not to worry, I will provide definitions for each term, and I will clarify that they don’t cover only romantic love. Given my aspec TouNemu headcanons, I’d be in trouble if they did. Anyway, remember that the person writing this is both the foremost scholar in TouNemu and also probably the biggest shipper of the two, so for the best experience you will have to read this from the perspective of “yes those two are canon”. And also from the perspective of “these two are people in their universe that existed before canon and will exist beyond canon”. Oh, and spoilers for the TouNemu part of the Arc 2 finale, but I mean, I think most people are at least vaguely familiar with what happened, given PH and all that.

First of all, I call these “love styles” because that is what my teachers and mentors called them when teaching me about them (why yes Nahi is academically and culturally qualified to speak on Grecoroman stuff, unexpected I know). You may see them talked about as just different words for love, or different concepts. These styles are recognizable in people, and sometimes you can tell someone has one of them as their primary style, sometimes you can see the secondary one, there are many variables. Most people experience each of them at some point in their lives. So, let’s begin with philia:

> Philia is the kind of love that strong friends feel toward each other. However, it doesn’t stop there. The Greek philosopher Plato thought that philia was an even greater love than eros and that the strongest loving relationships were ones where philia led to eros: a “friends become lovers” situation. Our concept of platonic love—love that isn’t based on physical attraction—comes from this Platonic philosophy. Philia is a type of love that is felt among friends who’ve endured hard times together.

Fun fact, the ancient Greeks valued philia far above eros because it was considered a love between equals (in reference to the historical inequality between men and women and the historical expectation for one’s friends to be the same sex and one’s romantic partner to be the opposite, needless to say this does not apply when we’re talking about two girls). I thought philia would be a nice, comfortable, easy place to start. Because sure, Touka and Nemu used to fight when they first met, but while important, that is literally not even one fifth of their relationship.

The way Touka and Nemu developed their relationship does actually involve philia, and therefore they continue to have it later in life, like the nourishing soil for their relationship. I believe this is a vitally important and extremely strong foundation they've built. I’ve said this before elsewhere, but despite my enthusiastic shipping of the pair, I wouldn't describe them as the “typical” lovers. Because yes, there’s that, but there’s also so much more to their bond than that, and this is one of the essentials. My timeline in my head for how the relationship would’ve even happened puts the earliest possible point where they could start dating(?) at around Cherry Blossom Dreams, so that's a good half of the game canon and pre-Arc 1 where it was just mounting philia for them. Bare basics! Highly important! Plus, if you go the demi route of the aspec interpretation, they kind of need to have a strong emotional bond via philia first. Or, given that they refused to call each other friends for so long, my favorite: weird undefined thing that grows and changes but we're not gonna put a label on it exactly because it doesn’t quite fit any preexisting ones/it doesn’t feel right. Or if you want to be funny, you can call them lab partners, since that is part of what they are to each other at least during Arc 2. This entire thing is also why I most often pick “partners” as their term of preference, “partner” feels like a wider scope than “girlfriend/wife” and fits them perfectly.

Now, time for storge:

> Although storge closely resembles philia in that it is a love without physical attraction, storge is primarily to do with kinship and familiarity. It's a protective, familial love, often felt by parents toward their children and vice versa. Storge also describes the love that siblings feel towards each other, and the love felt by even more distant kin relationships, such as a grandparent for a grandchild or an uncle toward a niece. It can even be found among childhood friends that have grown up together.

Evidently, storge applies to Touka and Nemu. Between one another, yes, but I feel it especially from them towards say Iroha (and Ui, after the crush passed), towards Sakurako, or from Touka to her dad (I am not mentioning Nemu and her parents because what Nemu feels towards her parents is filial piety and desperation for love, not love). TouNemu specifically tend to feel at least a little protective of the people they love in this manner and try to look after them. Less intense than their protectiveness of each other, in part because well, other people have Others. They do not. Storge feels like it's woven into philia from their hospital days, a natural development that likely happened alongside philia in a way. Not much more to say here I think

Next up, agape:

> Agape is selfless universal love, such as the love for strangers, nature, or God. This love is unconditional, bigger than ourselves, a boundless compassion and an infinite empathy that you extended to everyone, whether they are family members or distant strangers. More interestingly, agape is often defined as unconditional, sacrificial love. The kind of love that is felt by a person willing to do anything for another, including sacrificing themselves, without expecting anything in return. According to the Greeks, this was the highest and most radical type of love. It is the purest form of love that is free from desires and expectations, and loves regardless of the flaws and shortcomings of others.

*slams hands on table* YOU SEE. The selfless love for humanity to save strangers and whatever is there with Touka and Nemu, but not really as important as other parts of agape, they have higher priorities (this part of agape I feel is way more prevalent in Ui or Iroha). Unconditional and sometimes sacrificial love for each other, though? Loving without expectations or pressure? Most definitely! Absolutely. They even do this in lesser ways with other close loved ones. I do not think I have to point out the examples from canon, they've tried to kill themselves like five times give or take, and almost always you can trace their reasoning back to love in some way (in between all the trauma and guilt), plus some decisions about the specifics of their little self-immolation schemes are so clearly made with a sense of equality, partnership with each other. The unconditional part is something that’s very important for them to receive from each other. One of the reasons they trust each other so much is precisely how much they respect the other when it comes to boundaries, as well as the lack of expectations/conditions, which I’ve talked about before in other essays I believe.

So! The funny stalker love now!

> Mania love is a type of excessive love that leads someone into madness and obsessiveness. Although not necessarily and not universal, examples of mania could be what a jilted lover feels when they are extremely jealous of a rival, the unhealthy obsession that can result from mental illness, the kind of “love” that a stalker feels toward their victim, etc. To those who experience mania, love itself is a means of rescuing themselves; a reinforcement of their own value as the sufferer of poor self-esteem. This person wants to love and be loved to find a sense of self-value. Because of this, they can become possessive and jealous lovers, feeling as though they desperately “need” their partners. If the other partner fails to reciprocate with the same kind of mania love, many issues prevail. Mania can often lead to issues such as codependency.

I mean. They absolutely have it. It’s not too major for them, or at least not in the traditional sense. I don't think it's the unhealthy sort. They do display obsessive behavior at times (usually relatively minor, but I imagine it'd be worse if they weren't constantly joined at the hip, Touka was not exactly happy when Nemu got kidnapped by former Feathers in the IroYachi event), and I've argued before with screenshot evidence that both of them are possessive with both things/concepts and people. With how their relationship map has evolved, this behavior is mostly in their heads and applies to each other the most. There's a level of entitlement to the other and defensiveness they have too, and honestly, the depths their love reaches would 100% be considered madness. I mean. Must I point at the Arc 2 finale and that very fun decision of shedding their humanity and leaving their world, lives, dreams, aspirations, legacy and memories behind to live together in space? That's not normal person behavior, especially when it involves Exploding In Public as the preamble/step 1. THAT'S NOT NORMAL PERSON BEHAVIOR… Mania is usually seen as bad because the famous examples are all one-sided and on the very extreme, but I mean, what's wrong with two-sided mania? They seem fine to me. Codependent, but surprisingly functional in spite of that—I think they feel secure in their relationship at the moment. That said, if you just did a handful of very specific things, such as, say, very bad things happening to the other every time they’re apart… well, can you really tell me it wouldn’t amp up their paranoia and possessive protectiveness? Really think about it. If you pushed the right buttons, you could easily bring the mania to the surface.

Anyway, next up, my favorite that I named a fic after (yes you should read it if you haven’t already), pragma:

> Pragma is a committed, compassionate love that often grows as two partners continue to cherish and care for each other. This type of love is associated with being together for a long time and often seen in long term best friend marriages. It's an everlasting love between a couple that chooses to put equal effort into their relationship. Commitment and dedication are required to reach this level. Instead of “falling in love,” you are “standing in love” with the partner you want by your side indefinitely. Pragma is a unique sort of closely bonded love that can only grow over time and matures over the years. A love built on commitment, mutual understanding, and long-term interests, like (the easiest example) building a family. It's very meaningful and not a bond that is likely to ever break due to its foundations being so strong.

So basically intense devotion, mutual understanding, and the single most “partner” love. The “I will stand by your side no matter what” love. The kind that pays attention to the tiniest details and quietly makes adjustments as needed, the kind that Knows. Do I have to say anything? Do I really? This is TouNemu to a T. I will die on the hill that TouNemu's primary love style with each other is pragma.

I was not looking forward to this part considering the state of media literacy and reading comprehension, but here it is, eros:

> Eros is passion, lust and pleasure. Sensual, physical love. Romance is included here. Examples of eros would be the intense love felt between, well, lovers. The ancient Greeks considered eros to be dangerous and frightening, as it involves a “loss of control” through primal impulses.

I think this one is the most difficult to explain, if only because it clashes with my interpretation of the girls as being in the aspec, but if we're talking physical, I do 100% think that physical affection (and yes, sex) is/would be important for both Touka and Nemu, with the headcanon for Nemu having high libido issues being pretty much unanimously accepted among the TouNemu cult (because it does have canon basis and the ace + high libido combo is interesting to toy with). It's a lot about grounding for them, I feel. Touch is grounding for them because they've never had it and they therefore crave it, a more solid anchor than anything else, and like a sort of lifebuoy that I feel they can throw at one another if they notice The Signs, while at the same time being very gentle. As a friend of mine also recognized when discussing this in DMs, if anyone were to recognize their specific signs of their dissociation/panic, it would be the other, because they essentially developed these defense mechanisms and coping skills together. Plus, it's a multi-sensory anchor: the touch isn't just about texture, but also warmth, and the rhythm of breathing, and the subtle shifting of your partner, and their closeness, and the slight moisture of their breath. And that's just the tactile portion! It's also major with scent and sound and There Is A Lot.

Gentleness is one thing, but if you go into the kink side a little more, there's controlled aggression, the sting of a pain you can control (since it can stop with a single word or gesture/you get to be the one dishing it out for once), the other sorts of sensory craving that things like temperature play can satisfy. It's a lot about control in this case. I have so many thoughts and feelings about TouNemu's physicality- it's comforting to them both for grounding reasons and the emotional security in feeling the signs of presence and life in the one person they know they can rely on. There is a bit too much to get into right now (I could majorly elaborate on the sex and kink thing if asked), so we shall move on.

Yet another one I’m anxious about sharing for the same reasons as eros… Ludus.

> Ludus is playful, often noncommittal love. It covers things like flirting, crushes, courtship, seduction, and casual sex. Ludus is that feeling we have when we go through the early stages of falling in love with someone, e.g. the fluttering heart, flirting, teasing, and feelings of euphoria. The word means “play” or “game” in Latin, and that pretty much explains what ludus is: love as a game. When it comes to ludus, a person is not looking for a committed relationship. People who are after ludus are just looking to have fun or view sex as a prize to be won. A friends with benefits situation would be an example of a relationship built on ludus: neither partner is interested in commitment. Of course, ludus may eventually result in eros if feelings of passion or romance emerge during the relationship. After all, playfulness in love is an essential ingredient that is often lost in long-term relationships, yet it’s one of the secrets to keeping your love alive, interesting and exciting.

Throwing the noncommittal part completely into the trash for the canon timeline analysis, Touka and Nemu’s entire relationship is based on teasing and mind games. They are the only people they act playful towards or joke with at all—they will, on rare occasions, also tease Ui, but it doesn’t feel the same with her because Ui doesn’t really play their game. Their whole thing is exactly this. And since ludus, like all the other styles, can overlap with other styles of love, you really don’t have to compromise on the girls’ philia or pragma to agree that they have a healthy degree of ludus in their relationship by nature. It’s something they treat as unique to their relationship too, which is interesting. 

They're NOT AT ALL noncommittal or “casual” about each other, however they do like to treat their relationship like a sort of “game”. Their mind games and verbal sniping are in fact courtship, I think it relates to intellectual stimulation and poking the other around. In this sense they are basically seeking enrichment, fun, while also letting their relationship be extremely intense and mostly undefined. And I would be lying if I said I haven't had many AUs where these two started out as friends with benefits or went through that phase before settling into commitment (because they're stupid and in denial and allergic to vulnerability). It's a fascinating avenue to explore with them, particularly because a relationship that you negotiate and agree on being “no strings attached” (lmao good luck you idiots) avoids things they're terrible at such as The Big Emotions, so it's also a safety net. And a way to remain “close” and develop trust without necessarily being traditionally emotionally vulnerable. Not to mention that as an established relationship, I fully believe they would have business meetings every month to discuss the state of it; feedback, any necessary grievances they want to air, working together on problem-solving, etc.

Lastly, another big one! Philautia!

> Philautia refers to how a person views themselves and how they feel about their own body and mind. So essentially, self-love/self-esteem (good) and/or hubris (bad). The Greeks understood that in order to care for others, we must first learn to care for ourselves. People with high self-esteem, pride in themselves, or a positive body image practice a healthy version of philautia. Of course, philautia has a negative version, there is such a thing as excessive self-esteem/arrogance.

Let me tell you self-love is horrendous for both Touka and Nemu. Nemu is way worse at this than Touka. I don’t know what you expected me to say, but they simultaneously have huge egos and also the lowest self-esteem known to man. You can see this clearly in the ways they interact with others and the ways they objectify and dehumanize themselves respectively. I'm not sure I've talked about this at length before, but it holds true in every iteration of their characters, no matter what.

Touka is a little complicated to examine with this, with the simultaneous sense of both superiority and inferiority. She knows she sucks at socializing. She knows she’s the best in her fields. She may be young, but she’s not stupid. Assigning roles to herself and using her knowledge (hence her shoehorning sciency things in conversation) are the only ways she knows how to socialize, and as I’ve analyzed in other essays before, in Touka’s mind, all of her worth hinges on her intelligence. It’s what she’s been told her entire life: you’re so smart, that’s incredible, you’re so much more intelligent than others. The role of “genius” is what gives her a framework for how to interact with people, and Nemu threw that out of whack because she made Touka go off-script. Touka hadn’t prepared to deal with someone as smart as her. She hadn’t thought she’d have an equal. As a Magius, the way she acts is also mostly within the confines of her role, her job, what she’s expected to be like and what she’s expected to do. It’s all scripted. It’s the only way she thinks she can navigate most social interactions and communicate with People (capitalized because as I’ve said before, Touka and Nemu do not consider each other people, they consider each other a sort of part of themselves, something that cannot be handled the same way as People).

As for Nemu, boy buddy boy does this idiot self-flagellate. Not only is she introspective and the type to overthink everything and conclude she deserves nothing but the flames of Avici (her words, not mine), but she’s also painfully repressed in so many ways. I’ll go into all of this more in one of my upcoming essays that examines Nemu through a Buddhist lens (because she is Buddhist). The main point is that while Touka uses her masks and the enforcement of “roles” in order to navigate socialization, Nemu appears to be much better at it, but that’s really just an illusion. It’s because she knows how people speak. All she does is read, and she’s a writer, so there’s no way she wouldn’t. Is it genuine? Not really. She’s polite, though. In that sense she is the very example of a “proper” lady (Japan standards). Speaks nicely, can carry a conversation with perfect normalcy, etc. The only exceptions are Touka, whenever she decides someone is her enemy (such as Mikazuki when she was a Magius or Felicia in Ui’s MGS), and Sakurako who she speaks to with genuine motherly affection. It’s very. Very interesting. I am vibrating trying not to go into how this relates to her being a Buddhist because that is FOR THE OTHER ESSAY. Shh. Sh. Moving on.

Touka and Nemu are ultimately not made to be human, yet they are so very human nonetheless, and it shows in their hearts. There's an ache there. A desire to belong. But that desire feels lost and contradictory with the way they’re treated and with their other desires. And, no matter how hard they try, they can never find a home in those around them. Their sights are set too high, no other can match that, and so they feel alien and out of place with people besides one another. They both have very strong hearts, especially when they're together, and unlike say Iroha (who is all too human and thus yearns to return to a place she felt she belonged post-Arc 2), they make peace with their own departure. They never belonged anyway. Their place is not among the masses. This is why they have absolutely no qualms basically cutting ties with the mortal world for their ascension. They fully believe it's the best they can do, both for themselves and others. And while this dehumanization of the self can often either cause or be because of self-loathing, it also may not, or may grow past it. I think that's what we were seeing with the ascension, actually, it felt like chains snapping off and letting them fly, letting them finally pursue their goals unhindered, with each other as eternal support and without the constraints of human society that they’d always endured.

OKAY! That is the gist of it! Hope everyone enjoyed me going on another rant.

He has still been doing bits on and off and seems happy and well off the f1 calander..nothing is set in stone about an f1 comeback and he has been enjoying so many other things , he could end up doing wec..less time away from family, less stresses.

Besides,seb has always kept his family life private. There's a reason we don't see pics or videos of him with his kids.I remember that one time someone posted a video of his kids and hanna at a race and people immediately rallied around to get it down, think it was part of Ted's notebook or something as even he got the cameras to move away.

2x05 gives us Emily leading an investigation while Spencer would Like To Rest (“can we please slay one dragon at a time” is an actual line she says) 

Very fair of Spencer to have been more scared of Ian than A. She still suggests that her parents give Ian a funeral. She can’t help these bursts of sentiment, as vulnerable as they make her

Oh, this is the episode in which Spencer accidentally yells at her maternal grandmother on the phone! I hope at least her nana is nice to her :/ Also still waiting for Spencer to get a threat-free sleepover :/ 

“Pookie Bear” and “Z”. I would ask which nickname is worse except Aria’s is a cute kiddo family thing and I bet Ezra felt soooooo cooooooool being called Z in college. I would forgive this in another character but not in him. 

Ashley’s spiel that the year after Ali’s disappearance she was terrified every time Hanna went out the door - it recontextualizes her panic the night Hanna went camping with Caleb, yes, but I wonder if she’s the only parent this was true of. It would be easy for all the other parents to think of their girls as immune to whatever happened to Alison but Ashley seems the least likely to fall prey to the just-world fallacy. 

Pam is out of town, likely visiting Wayne. I idly wonder how their marriage is doing with the distance. I mean, look, this is the only parental marriage I’m going to care about, y’all understand that right?

Ashley and Hanna discuss Ashley leaving home when she was 17 and not going to her dad’s funeral but paying for it. Ashley is also the parent most likely to be honest about her upbringing to her kid, with Hanna clearly comfortable asking her questions about it, and I think it gives her a better understanding of both her mom and Caleb.

Do like that the way they get back together is Hanna seeing him have a bad time and basically going ok I’ve got to do something about this. Hanna ends up going to a graveyard after this so maybe Caleb did not ditch his Goonies date with Lucas.

A Farewell to Arms

If you read the title and clicked on to the blog believing it would be a thoughtful dissertation of the Ernest Hemingway classic novel, boy did you come to the wrong place. I am not that deep. I have read upwards of 2-1/2 books in my life and none were by him. Sorry to disappoint.

If, however, you follow my blogs and understand that this is probably another article concerning my ever declining body parts: read on.

When I was young I had thick strong arms. I inherited them from my father who was half bear. (I have no proof other than what I can remember about him). I have been compared more to a gorilla, with one of my friends referring to me on occasion as Magilla. If you have no idea who or what that is, I can't be bothered to explain. I will instead direct you to the Hanna/Barbera website.

Getting back to what I am attempting to share, I once had strong arms. Now, not so much. I can't lift what I once did and that is sad. Stamina in my strength is also an issue. The best example I can give are my blogs. They are written on a Monday for a reason. We grocery shop on Fridays (stay with me on this) and the exertion expended by yours truly requires the entire weekend of R&R to gain back enough strength to type out these little gems. (That's right! I do no chores on weekends to recover. That is my story and I am sticking to it.) Arms are important as they prevent your hands from growing out of your shoulders. There are advantages to that like never having to reach for a check in a restaurant but otherwise it would be inconvenient.

With that in mind, here are some points about my strength loss:

It does help me eat less as my arms tire, but there is a chance in suffocating in my food as my face falls into my food with exhaustion,

When I was young I could grab food and hang on to it. My less than 4 year old grandson can take it out of my hand now. Very sad.

I can now properly execute 1 push-up before collapsing.

I would love to carry my grandchildren but I am fearful of dropping them. I believe their parents would frown on that.

This year for the first time I ordered a Baconator. It was tasty but it also took me three days to recover enough strength to shave.

I was always respectful of my wife but now I know that her small frame can easily take me in a fight. That is not respect it is fear.

People think I am lazy or snobbish when I don't help them move furniture. I just don't want them to see me faint.

I have to take my wife grocery shopping just in case I can't lift something to put into the cart. When I go alone I only buy light things like cheezies or popcorn. I haven't bought a watermelon by myself since before Covid.

Should I be in the middle of nowhere with no cell coverage and I get a flat, that is where my car will stay. My legs still work.

THOUGHT OF THE WEEK: None of us stays the way we were when we were young. We just have to learn how to deal with it.

Appearance: he’s short for his age, with strawberry blonde hair and bright brown eyes. He has light skin and lots of freckles mostly on his face and neck. Species: regular ol’ human.

Personality: Jude’s sneaky, smart and mischievous. He’s very withdrawn from people, and tends to get himself lost in his obsessions. He can sometimes come off as rude or tactless due to his inattentiveness. He avoids confrontation with others, usually to the detriment of his relationships. He tends to use humour to avoid uncomfortable social situations.

Abilities/Weapons: nothing but his wits! He does ‘level up’ later in the story.

Backstory: Jude spent a lot of his childhood visiting his aunt and uncle’s farm. His cousins and older brother all played together, but Jude was very often left out of their games due to being the youngest. He ended up bonding a lot with his grandpa, Oupa Ro, instead.

Rohan had amazing stories to tell, about monsters and fairies and witches. Rohan believed that magic was out there. He told Jude that it was real, that they would find it someday. He showed Jude - and later the rest of the kids - his travel journals and the stories he collected all over the world to prove it.

Everything changed years later, when Jude was eleven years old. Rohan died, and Jude saw it. He knew what had happened - something supernatural had killed Rohan. It was the only way to explain the smoke rising from his corpse’s mouth, the glowing of Rohan’s dead eyes… but nobody believed Jude. Everyone said he was traumatised, his mind made it up. Rohan died of a heart attack. But Jude knows the truth… right?

Life Goal: Jude would love for you to know he intends to wrap up this goal soon, and would prefer not to chase after it his whole life. He wants to prove magic and myths are real. He wants his family to know what he knows. He also wants to know what this means - if magic is real, are they in danger? How can he protect his loved ones? Can he?

Occupation: He’s supposed to be an 8th grader now, but Jude’s not super into education right now. He’s on his way to failing 8th grade because he’s not paying attention. He has more important things on his mind, you know?

Fears: Jude has a lot of fears. The one he won’t admit to himself - he’s afraid of never finding peace and answers. That maybe he did hallucinate, and magic has never been real. But he’s also afraid of finding the proof of magic, and that it will make everything worse. He relentlessly chases after the answer to prove to himself that he’s not scared, but he is. Somehow this fear is what chases him onwards, leaving him in a strange cycle of adrenaline and sleepless nights.

Instruments: He doesn’t play an instrument, but I can imagine him playing the flute or panpipes.

Allergies: nothing serious, but he gets hives from touching certain types of wild grass, like African Bristlegrass.

mental illnesses: untreated ADHD, anxiety, very likely PTSD.

Strength Scale: 15/100 (this will change in the future)

Weaknesses: His tendency to hyperfocus in detriment to his own health. And, although he hates to admit it, his naivety. His fragile human body can also be a weakness, as he will be facing off supernatural monsters later in the story.

Strengths: Also his hyperfocus! He can save a lot of time by clocking in to his specific interests, such as faery hunting. He’s also very persistent - an unstoppable force who will very soon be meeting an immovable object. He can stay strangely calm in the midst of a terrifying situation, his delayed fear response kicking in way later.

Favourite Food: Filled vegetarian mince pancakes/crepes. He’s South African, he calls them pancakes and he refuses to call them crepes.

Sociable: Introverted.

Biggest Enemy: At the start of the story, Jude is his own worst enemy. By the end, he has a new enemy.

Likes: old maps, his cat, reading science fiction, annoying his older brother, travelling.

Dislikes: failure, cigarette smoke, the smell of burning meat.

Facts: I usually associate my characters with an animal that makes me think of them. Jude is one of the only characters that has consistently stayed aligned with his animal, and it’s a red fox!

Comfort Sound: the sound of the ocean, rain falling on tin roofs, but mostly his cat’s purrs.

Favourite Song: I’m gonna say “Missing You” by All Time Low, only because that was the song on replay while I was writing some of his first scenes. But also I think he’d find the lyrics oddly comforting.

Favourite Colour: Pretty sure his favourite colour is amber or red.

MBTI: Not sure about this one but I think INTP?

Aesthetic: “ghost hunter core” is the best I can find for him!

Fictional 'Kin': I don’t know if Jude’s read this book series before, but he would relate a lot to Percy Jackson. I unintentionally made them very similar, after all. Jude’s story even starts with him getting expelled after a field trip gone wrong! Big difference here is that it was Jude’s fault for getting expelled, because he broke a rule he knew existed and thought he wouldn’t get caught. He'd also start his own book series with "Look, I did ask for this now how can I take it back?"

Voice: Very boyish, his voice didn’t totally catch up to his age just yet. He has a subtle South African accent. He pronounces each word just how they are spelled if he can get away with it. Used to say vegetables as ‘veg-ge-tables’ when he was a little kid and tulips as ‘two lips’.

Love Language: Words of Affirmation is a strong love language for Jude, closely linked with Quality Time.

PJO Godly Parent: Jude is such a Hermes kid. In a PJO AU, I would probably make him a Legacy of Hermes, though. I think Rohan would be the OG Hermes demigod in the family.

creator thoughts: Jude is a very fun character to write for! He’s complicated in a lot of ways. He tries to stay out of danger while simultaneously throwing himself straight into the fire. He cares so much for people, but he trips up a lot and says things that can easily be taken the wrong way. I often have to push myself to write better and more carefully when working with his perspective, because so many of his actions cause a lot of unintended consequences.

aurélie was the product of an illicit affair between the infamous phantom of the opera and the naive christine daaé whom he took advantage of. at least, that's what the world believes. in truth, aura was a child born of true love between the pair. she still remembers her time spent in the old opera house. her mother singing to her as she brushed her hair at night and her father showing her all the best hiding spots to play in. the three were truly happy for most of aurélie's childhood. of course, all good things must come to an end.

the arguments began when aura was around ten. her mother wanted more than just living in the paris opera house while her father was content with the life they'd made there. it came down to an ultimatum that her father refused to give into, and her mother left them, remarrying barely a year later to her childhood sweetheart. she then went on to become a near household name for her voice and serene presence.

aura remained in the opera house with her father for her teen years, visiting her mother only when forced to. instead she was content to take voice lessons from her father and learn from the various talents who would perform at the opera house.

she only left the opera house, and her father, to attend university so that she can achieve her dream of fame. she's mostly estranged from her mother, barely acknowledging her presence other than the fact that she's paying for everything for aura as a way to make up for leaving.

she's not always the best at reading people due to her lack of contact with others growing up. she tends to be dramatic and overly concerned with herself rather than other people's feelings, but it is something she's working on. but her main focus is, and always has been, attaining her own goals.

Mizuha is a loveless girl

And I literally sympathize with her so much because of it she’s my new favorite character. Hi, I’m gonna gush about Mizuha and her complications with love and receiving love so please don’t read this if you haven’t read up till at least chapter 140+ of the manga! There are massive spoilers ahead so be warned.

Mizuha’s complications with love are a really interesting topic that the manga brings up as apart of her character, because Mizuha herself believes that she knows what love is, and what it feels like, and why she wants it etc. But I personally think that Mizuha and Fushi are similar in that they both don’t really understand what “love” actually is.

Mizuha wants love from Fushi, but she doesn’t really know how to actually reciprocate those feelings. She herself doesn’t actually “love” Fushi in the way that she wants him to love her.

When Fushi confronts her in Chapter 139, she can’t even actually say she loves him, because the truth is that she just doesn’t feel that way about him. But despite that she still wants him to love her.

I feel like the parallels here between Mizuha and Kahaku are also kind of subtle because they both couldn’t tell Fushi they loved him to his face, even at their lowest points. Kahaku professed his love while he was dying in an act of self sacrifice, and we see here that Mizuha can’t even say she loves Fushi when he’s right there in front of her.

Now where I feel the difference in them starts is that when Kahaku said he loved Fushi he legitimately did love Fushi. But Mizuha isn’t actually in love with him, or she hasn’t gotten to that point yet. Both Kahaku and Mizuha struggled with their own feelings in regards to Fushi. Kahaku at first had to come to terms with the fact that he couldn’t just love Fushi in one form, but all of his forms including the one he was most comfortable in, and not the form he took of his old friend.

Mizuha on the other hand has to deal with the fact that Fushi just doesn’t understand love like normal people, and that he’s only really able to give love in a mostly platonic sense. Throughout this entire arc Fushi states multiple times that he “doesn’t really understand” love, and it’s clear he does have love for the people around him, it’s just not the “right” kind of love to solve all of their issues.

I think the most glaring example of this is in chapter 146, after Mizuha and Hanna have their fight. Fushi sees that she’s sobbing her eyes out and is clearly distraught, so he decides the best way to “solve” this issue is by handing her something he got from another friend.

Fushi at this point just wants Mizuha to be happy, and he believes the best way to do that is by making her life full of more friends and people who love her. But Fushi doesn’t understand that the love he provides her with is “the wrong” type of love.

Mizuha doesn’t want more friends, she has plenty of friends. She wants the kind of love that she believes only one person can give her, and she’s set her sights specifically on Fushi. Though Fushi just doesn’t understand why Mizuha, who he loves as his friend, doesn’t immediately have her problems solved by him just being there.

In fact immediately after Mizuha does this he imagines March taking the ball and being obsessed with it, and showing it off to all her friends at school because that is the kind of love Fushi can provide to other people. It’s the only kind he really gets.

Mizuha’s love is complicated and difficult and not something he has ever really had to give. When Kahaku was in love with him, it was easy to not see that or even acknowledge because throughout the war arc Kahaku didn’t make it plainly obvious that he loved Fushi in that way, or at least he didn’t make it obvious to Fushi.

Mizuha just sort of expects Fushi to “get it” one day if they do normal romantic things, like go on dates and hug and kiss. But even when Fushi does these things for her it is all still in the guise of “trying to make Mizuha happy” because he’s her friend and he cares about her. Fushi doesn’t love Mizuha in that way, but he does love her enough to at least pretend so that it’ll make her feel better.

Just like Kahaku, Mizuha is trying to “define” Fushi in a way that he just isn’t. Where as Kahaku was literally trying to make Fushi be a woman so he could marry him, Mizuha wants Fushi to be a normal “boy” so she can date him and give her the love she wants from him. But during the entire arc with Fushi and Kahaku, he makes it clear that gender, sexuality, and all of that other stuff just doesn’t really matter to him, and that he’ll literally just change depending on who he is at the time.

Lets also note how in this arc both Bon and Kahaku use She/Her pronouns for Fushi the entire time while he’s in Parona’s body. Their usage of these pronouns stop however when Fushi loses Parona’s form, and he has to be the nameless boy again. When he was Parona, they were both placing expectations onto Fushi that just didn’t mesh well with who he actually was as a person, including his own identity.

And Mizuha is doing the same thing just in the opposite direction. Another part of Mizuha’s character is her need to be “perfect”. She wants to be perfect to make her mother happy, but as time went on she slowly began to realize that there were parts of her life that were imperfect due to the people around her.

Her mother pushing her to be “perfect” and seeing her as nothing more than a mountain of achievements was a flaw that Mizuha couldn’t ignore.

Her peers are people who aren’t around her own skill level and that is a flaw she also couldn’t ignore.

And her own aging human body is “imperfect” because she realizes she doesn’t have enough time to keep her mother happy forever by achieving more great things. Mizuha can’t turn the clock back no matter how much she may want to, unlike Fushi who can just revert to any age he wants at will by switching forms. A part of Mizuha’s infatuation with Fushi is the fact that she believes that by being with him that she will gain something greater then “perfection”

However, Mizuha doesn’t want to “get” Fushi by falling in love with him. She expects Fushi to love her and for her to not have to reciprocate those feelings. If she gets Fushi to fall in love with her then she will “have” him. It’s why she repeatedly places the responsibility of learning about love on his shoulders so loosely. When they go on dates, she expects him to just understand or catch on eventually. Mizuha believes that just by being around Fushi he will eventually come to love her in the way that she wants, but it’s just not working.

She has no love to give to him, and the love that Fushi gives out freely is not enough because it’s the kind he shares with all people. We see how Mizuha is unable to truly give love freely with how she strings Hanna along knowing how Hanna feels about her.

When Hanna points out how her crush on Fushi is one sided, Mizuha just flat out says she’s wrong and that it’s actually the other way around.

Mizuha believes she is perfect and because of this she grows increasingly frustrated with the fact that she’s not able to get Fushi to love her. Fushi doesn’t know how to make her happy or what he should do to make her happy. And Mizuha doesn’t know what she has to do to get Fushi to love her. She is a “loveless” girl in the sense that she has none to give to others in the same way that Fushi has none to give to others.

Though where they differ is that Fushi loves his friends and his family, and that love alone is enough to make him be content for all eternity. For Mizuha it is not enough because she is running out of time. She doesn’t have eternity to get over this kind of feeling.

Might as well introduce the entire Top Cat gang in their charming, 101DS-esq art style! We've got the whole gang here: T.C., Benny the Ball, Choo-choo, Spook, Fancy Fancy and Brain.

You may notice that Brain, Spook and Cooch are female in this pic! That's because their designs take heavy inspiration from Jellystone. This is a no brainer to fans who have watched the show on HBO max when you look more closely at their look and designs!

Let's go through each one of our colorful six pack of felines, shall we?

I'm pretty sure very few had wondered what Hanna Barbera's coolest cat would look like in the 101 Dalmatian Street Universe. Well, this is pretty much your answer. Top Cat has been one of my few favorite Hanna-Barbera cartoons growing up, and I though "Hey, why not draw this guy in the 101DS-verse on four legs".

Here he is, in 101 Dalmatian Street's adorable art-style, and I gotta admit, I think he fits right in!

Seems like Fergus has got another friend who's experienced with lying and cheating!

Starting first with Top Cat's gang, it's Benny the Ball!

Seeing as Benny is the youngest of the gang as confirmed in the original show, I kinda picture him as a young, blue kitten with a naive, but energetic personality! Not to mention he has a strange taste in music. (Horrible singing, off-key notes, corny music, that kinda thing. 'V('-')V')

His appearance is pretty much the same from the original show, aside from his 101DS artstyle and character.

Next up, we've got Choo-choo! I wasn't sure where to go with this fluffy pink cat, so I thought "ta heck with it" and went with the Jellystone version of her.

I imagine her as an optimistic-type cat, with a nonsensical personality. She tends to slide in some humorous comments especially during some serious moments, but all-in-all she is a sweet-natured cat full of emotions and cares deeply Top Cat and others, even Dylan, Dolly and other Camden citizens she interacts with.

Now we've got the largest, most intimidating cat of the gang: Spooky!

I basically based her personality off of Jellystone and also Big the Cat from the Sonic series. She's basically mute and also a dopey, kibbles-for-brain feline.

Her design is mostly based off of Roxy, with her towering stature and her face. In the 101DS Universe, Spooky is known to make smaller canines nervous and uncomfortable due to her disturbing cross-eyed expression, and her bulking figure, similar to the way Roxy would.

Unlike Roxy though, Spooky always appears oblivious to how others are afraid to even take a step toward her.

Moving along, we got our fabulous, girl-cat-go-getter Fancy Fancy!

Fancy is almost pretty much the same in the 101DS universe: laid-back, kindhearted and undoubtedly handsome, and falls head-over-tail with every female cat he meets. But he also tends to play cool-headed like Hansel.

Fancy-fancy also has utmost desire for poetry like Hansel does. These two tend to get along together, despite Fancy being a member of con-artist's run by T.C.

For Fancy's design, I actually took design inspiration from his earlier character concept art from the original show, where he had stripes to look more like a Tabby Manx. That is of course, until Hanna-Barbera decided to ditch the stripes for Fancy's final design. I'm guess perhaps the stripes would be too hard to animate under a limited budget... I have no idea! :P

Last but not least, we've got our gothic little orange kitten: The Brain!

For the 101DS-Universe, I simply based Brain's appearance and personality off of her Jellystone counterpart in favor over the clueless and dimwitted personality the original Brain had the original show.

I wanted to give Brain a more creative and expressive nature, hence why I threw in different colors of paint on her paws and tail.

With Brain expressing herself through art, I can easily picture her and Da Vinci getting along together, even when she's one of Top Cat's alley gang members, swindling and conning the Camden citizens of their money.

The Extinct People of Balance: Harmonizers pt2

This is a long one gang, buckle up.

What is a Harmonizer?

To start off, I'm saying again, Harmonizers are an original species I've created that come from the 17th realm called The Lost Realm. I'd also like to mention, Harmonizers in modern day Ninjago (so Dragon's Rising Season 2 Part 2) are extinct except for two people.

That set aside, all the information from here on out will be about the Harmonizers when they weren't extinct.

I'm cutting it off here just bc there's A LOT of shit below.

General Notes:

Harmonizer's are a humanoid (2 legs, 2 arms) species with some non-human characteristics. I'll talk about their physique later on. They can either be male or female and require both biological genders to reproduce.

They come in 2 different "sub-species." Or as I like to say, factions because the two factions can still produce viable offspring if they interbreed. The 2 factions have different appearances, characteristics, and abilities.

Before I dive into the factions, I have to talk about the abilities of Harmonizers and what common traits all Harmonizers have.

Traits:

All Harmonizers have a few non-human characteristics in common which could change/alter depending on your faction and abilities.

A set of horns/antlers. Harmonizers can have either horns or antlers. I say antlers bc they look more like extra pointy antlers than horns lol. They can range in height from being 4 to 14 inches tall, and in width though most are thicker where they meet the skull and get thinner as they go up. Those statistics are dependent on genetics.

Sharper canines. Nothing major, but if you look to long, you are able to notice the canines of Harmonizers are just a bit bigger and longer than normal human canines. This is also depending on genetics.

Pointed & rotational ears. They have slightly pointed ears, (think half elf but less of a curve), which can turn or rotate up and down depending on the Harmonizer's mood. For example, if they just got good news, the ears may be pointed upwards. If they are angry, the ears will be pointed to the ground. This does give them a slightly better ability to hear as well, but nothing much better than a human's ability to hear. They do have sensitive ears so don't scream in them.

Glowing eyes. Harmonizers, no matter which faction, can see perfectly in the dark. For them, pitch darkness is like it's mid-day in the room/area. However, as a downside, their eyes glow like they have mini flashlights in their eyes. So they cannot be sneaky at night unless they have their eyes closed. This also means Harmonizers are very sensitive to light, especially after a period of being in darkness.

Skin markings. While the color of them changes depending on your actual skin color and your abilities/faction, all Harmonizers have full body skin markings that can range from being straight lines to swirls to loops to a couple dots, it really doesn't matter. The general shape of the markings (like thickness or the actual line shapes) depends on your genetics.

Black fingernails. Harmonizers have black fingernails that are usually naturally pointy like little claws. They aren't long, the longest recorded fingernails being at most an inch.

Natural beauty. For no reason other than character development and plot for Hanna, Harmonizers are naturally attractive. While they have different body types (hourglass, pear, apple, stick, etc.) they almost always will look attractive to another species. They have symmetrical faces and do not struggle with acne the same way humans do.

Otherwise, Harmonizers have normal human characteristics.

Other Physical Features:

THEY ARE TALL AS FUCK. Which is why Hanna is 5 feet 10 inches(177.8cm). She'd be taller if not for her human genes muting the height factor.

Adult Male Humanizer height, regardless of faction can range from 7 feet 2 inches to 8 feet 10 inches. Or, 218.44cm to 269.24cm. Adult Female Humanizer height, regardless of faction can range from 6 feet 8 inches to 8 feet 7 inches. Or, 203.3cm to 261.62cm.

They also don't know what being obese is, most of them having good to great muscle tone. So weight is in accordance to the average weight for their height and gender lol.

Harmonizers can have any skin tone and/or hair type. You could see a black Harmonizer with dreadlocks just as much as you could see a white Harmonizer with beach blond waves. Hair color and eye color, I know darker skin tones for humans means probably black or brown hair and eyes. For Harmonizers, this doesn't matter. If you part of a specific faction but have a skin tone that conflicts with the specifications, those conflicts wont happen lol.

Abilities/Powers:

Harmonizers are able to control 1 of 3 abilities with the third ability only being known to exist within 2 alive or once living Harmonizers.

The first ability is control of the Essence of Peace.

The Essence of Peace looks like either white or yellow/gold mist. It's function or how it can be controlled is similar to Scarlet Witch's magic from Marvel. In general, it's connected to the aspects of being like Life, Renewal, Growth, Continuation, Stability, and Community. The Essence of Peace, when housed or utilized by a Harmonizer can be used to undo destruction (like the Ladybug Miraculous after defeating an akuma lol), bring on fertility, heal active wounds, calm conflict, and give people a sense of serenity in the mind.

This may sound like it is a tranquil or steady power to control, but a Harmonizer who uses/has it is just as able to use it for negativity as Krux and Acronix were able to use their elemental powers for evil. The Essence of Peace is sometimes referred to as the Power of Control since it can so easily rectify "negative" situations without the consent of others.

The second ability is control of the Essence of Chaos.

The Essence of Chaos looks like either a lavender or dark purple mist. It's function or how it can be controlled is similar to how benders from the Avatar cartoon/anime control the elements. In general, it's connected to the aspects of being like Death, Decay, Despair, Conflict, Closure, and Isolation. The Essence of Chaos, when housed or utilized by a Harmonizer an be used to cause destruction(Like Chat Noir lol), cause illness or wounds, vegetation to decay/rot, cause conflict inflicting emotions, and give people a sense of hysteria in the mind.

Just like The Essence of Peace, the Essence of Chaos can be used for either good or evil, just because of what it is related to doesn't mean a user of Chaos can't use it for good or positivity. The Essence of Chaos also has a special name, it's name is the Power of Turbulence because it's uses may come off as disastrous or negative, the things it causes are just a part of life so they are necessary in a way.

The third ability is the Power of Discord.

Yep, the third power able to be used by Harmonizers is the power of Discord, Hanna's abilities. The only other person who has been able to say they are the user of Discord is Fuwa, who is Hanna's ancestor.

The Power of Discord looks like either a combo of purple and white mist, or is silver. The power function's like Lloyd's powers in many ways but can also be used like the Essence of Peace and Chaos.

This is connected to both The Essence of Chaos and Peace, The Power of Discord is a combination of both so in turn, it is connected to the same things as both and can be used to do the same things as both.

I'll explain why only Hanna and Fuwa can use the Power of Discord later on.

Factions

So, now that I've got the powers explained, I can explain what each faction of Harmonizers is and why there's separate ones. Something to note however, the Females of this species are referred to as Ladies and Males are called Lords. They have no royal status it's just what I decided to call them lol.

The first faction are the Lords and Ladies of Peace.

As you can guess from the name, this faction can use The Essence of Peace. Only this faction can use this Essence and as such, they take on characteristics of the Essence.

They often have lighter hair colors like blond or white but they can have darker versions of these hair colors that are like medium (dirty blond, red heads/gingers, etc.) They also have a specific kind of eye color to them. The whites of their eyes remain white ofc. The iris can be blue, green, yellow, or amber, sometimes light brown.

I mentioned above that skin tone is just skin and has no relation to hair and eye color for Harmonizers. This still stands. A Lord/Lady of Peace could be black as hell but have the blondest hair and bluest eyes ever seen. The only thing which remains to their skin tone is the hair type.

I mentioned before how Harmonizers are humanoid with non-human characteristics. Well, for Lords/Ladies of Peace, these are what the non-human characteristics can look like.

Horns/antlers: - usually antlers with 2-4 connection points to the skull and around 6-10 off shoots from there. - they are also usually white, yellow, or light brown in color with a gradient towards the root(connection to the skull) that matches the skin tone and/or markings.

Skin markings: - usually more straight in shape but more in number and less thick. - the markings color changes in how dark or light they are depending on the Harmonizer's skin tone so they can still be seen. But in general, Lords and Ladies of Peace have gold, yellow, amber, orange, pink, or white markings.

Eyes: - Lords and Ladies of Peace have normal eyes except for the pupil. For humans, the pupil is black. For them, it is pure white just like the actual whites of their eyes.

The second faction are the Lords and Ladies of Chaos

Noo... I wasn't lazy with naming, I just found the names fitting. This faction can use the Essence of Chaos. Only this faction can use the Essence of Chaos and as such, take on it's characteristics.

They have darker hair colors like black or brown but can also have medium shades of the hair colors just like a Lord/Lady of Peace. They also have a select few eye shades. Unlike those of Peace, Lords and Ladies of Chaos have the whites of their eyes as pitch black. Otherwise, the iris can be light shades of purple (lavender mostly), darker shades of blue (navy), dark or muted shades of green (sage), browns, blacks, and deep shades of purple.

Just like the first faction, skin tone doesn't matter for hair type n shit.

Also just like the first faction, the non-human characteristics change.

Horns/antlers: - Most have horns with varying structures (think the different horns in My Little Pony). They can have 2 - 6 horns or 1 to 3 sets. usually, one set will be bigger than the other two with each set getting smaller. - The horns tend to be darker colors like dark purples, blues, dark greens, browns, blacks, and at times very dark gray.

Skin markings: - usually more curvy in shape having multiple swirls and off shoots. They also tend to be thicker - They also change how dark or light the color is based on the Harmonizer's skin tone. But most of the time, they are black, dark purple, dark blue, dark gold and orange, or brown.

Eyes: - The only thing going on is that the whites of their eyes are black instead. Everything else remains normal lol.

I was going to do more BUTT this is again a lot of stuff happening in one post. So I'll be putting out a part three with some pictures of what the Harmonizers look like. I'll be using Gacha Life 2 for the general designs just because I don't feel like drawing people from scratch.

In part 3, I'll explain more about the lifestyles of Harmonizers, how The Lost Realm fell more in-depth, and how Hanna (my oc) is affected by her Harmonizer genetics since it is such a distant relation.

So this isn’t the team’s champion post, but they did just beat the game yesterday.  I decided to do full designs for all their adult forms before I do the champion post, because I think none of them has enough art yet.

Eryn - Finally learned Spore, and has evolved to his full potential.  I originally planned for him to undergo a drastic personality change when he evolved, but I think having a strong friendship with Ponder keeps him grounded.  He hasn’t gone mad with his newfound power, if anything he seems hesitant to use his full strength.

Ponderous - Nobody took him seriously as a psychic because he ‘doesn’t look like a psychic,’ which had him kind of pissed off for a while.  He swapped his comfy hoodie for a trenchcoat and some gloves, but he refuses to give up sweatpants.  Also, I gave him the Blue Orb after we used it to catch Kyogre.  I think maybe a legendary control orb might be too much power to trust him with?  But he won’t give it back.

Becky - She got to land the final blow on Steven’s Metagross but she had to begrudgingly share the fight with Eryn.  She might be...maybe...willing to admit that he’s a good fighter?  Everyone else on the team owes her for her leveling assistance, so now she’s just going to take pride in their accomplishments.  She’s strong, and she makes everyone around her get stronger.  It’s an important job and Becky does it really well.

Shina - Still Becky’s number one fan, but she’s become a lot more comfortable with her own style, which is very different from Becky’s.  If anything she’s becoming too vain, but at least she’s not mean-spirited about it like Becky sometimes is.  Nera is asleep in a box somewhere, living her best life.

Ambience - Red glove for Flamethrower and blue glove for Ice Beam.  She’s so useful and versatile now.  She’s stopped caring as much about keeping Becky’s approval, because she can clearly take care of herself.  In fact, she’s gotten used to using Ice Beam on Flying-types that Becky and Eryn are both unequipped to handle.

Hanna - As this file’s world sacrifice, Hanna isn’t quite like the others.  All the other Pokemon from this run are ‘siblings,’ but Hanna isn’t part of the family.  I don’t know if she knows that, though?  She has all the weirdness of the other sacrifices but she’s also a Spinda so it’s hard to really tell what’s going on with her.  She hangs out with the others like she’s one of them, but talks like she didn’t hear their half of the conversation.  They don’t dislike her but they never expect her to pay attention, or make sense, or stand up straight.  Sometimes Ponder chats with her about psychic things (she’s not Psychic-type but she still has the power) and then nobody can understand either of them.

Not pictured: Inari the Linoone, Mola the Sharpedo, and Dayo the Tropius, who have formed their own little squad of HM users.  They split the duties of surfing, flying, strengthing, etc.
