Alex Hirch really made Ford and Fiddleford as gay as possible without explicitly saying they're gay

Fiddleford:

1. Fiddleford got Ford not one, but TWO gifts. HANDMADE. A snow globe model of the cabin and a pair of six-fingered gloves that he went through FIVE prototypes for. This man is serious about gifts.

2. When he wants to be. Because who did he get the gifts for? The two gifts lovingly and painstakingly designed and handcrafted? Right, Ford. Obviously. Because he cares about Ford. So when he goes back home to visit his wife and kid, he'll get them something too, because they're his family.

5. What the fuck do you mean he forgot to get his wife a Christmas present

6. Are you telling me that Fiddleford sees Ford as more of a partner than his literal wife

7. OK, you could argue that he was just preoccupied with the lab/portal stuff, and he wanted to do something really extra nice for Ford, so he completely spaced getting his wife a Christmas gift. OK, sure. It's not inherently gay to be a forgetful husband.

But it is gay to write "try to forget" on a torn picture of the day he and Ford became roommates in college, implying that the memory of their relationship is traumatic on par with literally seeing a demon from another dimension. (EDIT: IT IS ALSO GAY TO WRITE "MISS YOU" IN A CODE ON THE WHITEBOARD IN THE PHOTO OF THE FIRST DAY THEY MET. I'm not sure who's supposed to be the one who wrote that, probably fiddleford since he tore the photo, but did he know any of the ciphers? I don't know. It's gay, I don't know.)

1. Fellas, is it gay to seek companionship in isolation? When Fiddleford tells Ford he's flying back to visit his wife, this cuts him deeply.

3. So... the way Ford says this feels like he knows that Fiddleford's marriage isn't working out, for whatever reason. "Who could fault him?" My dude, that's his wife???

(Also side note, but I find it interesting that Ford says "F confessed that he's flying back home to visit Emma-May." Important words: confessed-why did he not want to tell/ leave Ford? Visit-why say Fiddleford is visiting his wife? Why not that he's flying back to be with his wife, or to reconnect?)

4. Again- Ford is reminded that there is "a world outside my lab" i.e. Fiddlefords wife. A world that he's not a part of and cannot fathom.

5. Fiddleford saving Ford from the Krampus and then immedietly hugging. Or, sorry- "EMBRACING." Fellas, is it gay to embrace your homie after a near death experience?

6. Ford immedietly asking if he can cheer Fiddleford up after him mentioning the fight with his wife (you know, the one about him not getting her a Christmas gift even though he clearly cares a lot about gifts). Not even asking like "dude...really?" Just immediete support. Maybe even understanding?

7. Ford calling Fiddleford down to the portal room to surprise him with the lights and decorations. "The smile on his face proved I'd made the right choice." OH, IS THAT RIGHT STANFORD

8. Ford knowing and playing Fiddlefords favorite song???

Ok, I'm pretty sure I got this before Christmas and it's now May. I'm so sorry. I won't go into all the reasons I haven't really been writing because it's a lot but I want to get back into it so here goes with this very unseasonal post lmao

He's very seasonal if you think about it

He's also super (secretly) into the holidays

catch him doing his rendition of rockin' around the Christmas tree very loudly when he's off his tits on eggnog

((side note I think he would hate eggnog but would drink it solely because it's festive))

He's secretly super sentimental and he knows you love this time of year so he really puts his back into it

I'm talking it's the 1st of December and he wakes you up in a full Santa outfit and white beard (that he knitted himself) yelling "Ho Ho Ho!" and asking if you've been naughty or nice

it's like 6am so you, naturally, tell him to piss off

to which he makes a big show of trying to shove you into his Santa sack because "Someone needs a trip to the North Pole to learn the Christmas spirit"

He's also pretty good with crafts

obvs you guys can't go outside and be seen so he creates a whole winter wonderland in the lair (without telling the others, Mikey was the only one who appreciated it tbh)

also he's a great cook so you spend evening after evening baking sugar cookies and decorating them, sipping hot chocolate with a candy cane in it and whipped cream on top, making warming winter soups.

In terms of gifts, he gets you anything and everything he even thinks you might like

handmade too items like a scarf he knitted for you because your old one was a bit worn, handmade card, he even did a little snow globe that he made with figures of you and him inside of it

he'll say "I know it's lame" or "It's not the best but I tried" but it means the world to you

I see him loving a very traditional, old fashioned, classic Xmas.

His big thing is that he loves to decorate the tree with you

but you would always bicker about how it should look

"No, I think a gold and red theme would look better!"

"But, Leo, we have all of these cute glass candy canes I wanna hang!"

"But I have a vision!!"

so this year he decides to buy like 6 trees (and by buy I mean forage, steal or cut down)

so you can both have your own trees and decorate them however you want

this, obviously, becomes a Christmas competition

your very unwilling judges are Leo's brothers and even Splinter

they have never looked more uncomfortable than when you and Leo are very passionately stating your case for why your tree is better than the other's and it ends in you both throwing baubles at each other

about half an hour and a lot of tinsel lying everywhere later you decide that maybe you're both a little too competitive

but Leo reassures that "That's why I love you"

He's so big on quality time with you

lot's of sitting by a crackling fire, sipping coco and letting soft Christmas songs play

he's made a playlist of v gentle ones like Eartha Kitt's Santa baby, Conventry carol and god rest ye merry gentlemen.

as far as gifts, it's has to be something personal and sweet

a pressed flower in resin from the first day you both met, a silver heart shaped locket with a pic of you both in it, some sort of talisman that's supposed to keep you safe in ninja superstition

Time for chaotic good to come to play

Mikey just manages to capture that almost childlike enthusiasm and wonder for the season

He has a funny habit of wrapping your gifts to look like something else

last year you were certain he'd gotten you a rocking horse but it turned out to be a new phone and headphones

"How long did it take you to wrap it like that?"

"Don't ask questions you don't wanna know.....3 hours to make the horse part look right"

normally he gets you silly but sweet gifts

lots of sticking filler things

oh and he gets you an actual stocking too, but like a comically oversized one to fit all the gifts

stuff he's made too

one year he made you 50 hand cut paper snowflakes with 50 reasons he loves you written and drawn on them

also stuff you guys can do together

video games he knows you'll find fun, stupid interactive games that you can play, that kinda stuff

he does a special Xmas scavenger hunt for you each year that the others pretend is stupid but it keeps getting more elaborate as time goes on and even they are started to get invested in the ending

there's a theme and everything ranging from polar express to murder at the Christmas party to Santa's grotto....

he also never fails to dress up as Mrs Clause every year (because Raph insists on being Santa and at first Mikey just wanted everyone to laugh, but now it's kinda a tradition)

Donnie

oh my sweet gadget boy

he's super big into cocktails, the sweeter the better

and you always get to name them together but you both have a warped sense of humour so the names are getting out of hand

you pick a fave each year as well

last year was "The abominable snowman's frozen left nut" and the year before was "Mrs Clause putting glass shavings in Santa's food because he came back with the clap"

I told you they were bizarre....

his gifts are always thoughtful and so romantic

I HC Donnie as being a super romantic guy

whether it be a painting he made of the constellations and planets in correct placement on the night the two of you first kissed

or a wreath of dried flowers and plants to hang on the door that came from the field behind your childhood house

but this year it's a scrapbook filled to the brim with every detail of the two of you, all dated and with a little annotation telling a story as to why it's in there. photos, cards, handwritten letters, magazine cut outs, diary entries.... it's all in there and it's enough to make you cry.

He also sneaks you out on Christmas eve every year without the others knowing (they'd flip if they came to know that he was stealing you away at that time)

but he takes you up to the rooftops to sit on blankets and drink hot chocolate (spiked with a little rum, it's Donnie after all...) and look at the lights and snowflakes and people bustling home to their families and you sit and feel at peace and laugh as you make up backstories to each individual you see scurrying home

you lean against his shoulder and every year that he does this it feels more magical than the last

Little Bear sits on toy plane and flies on the world globe. Embroidery Project idea based on Little Bear’s travel adventure and the destination of last weekend’s short trip. I done half of the embroidery in the plane (I completed ‘aeroplane’ in the aeroplane), and final completion when I am back home. This is the first time, I brought my embroidery along while travelling and did it in the plane. It was a memorable experience.

HI Y'ALL you ready for the Absolute Brainrot I got outta nowhere for NPCs in a campaign I haven't written? no? too bad, here they are anyways. Art (left, shaved down horns) & Dusk (right, broken horn), the Telodomic Tiefling Two. they're sibwings with a few things wrong with them in different ways. they're generally friendly though!

I'll put More Official Sounding Info under the cut!

Dusk and Art are a rare sort, given that tieflings born and raised in the country of Telodom are few and far between amidst the land's cold climate and general distrust of both divine and demonic influences. The siblings now live in Estellus, reluctant refugees displaced thanks to a civil war between Telodom's ruler and its people. They both more or less work to clear their debt to the "old friends" who helped their escape southward, with Art running a shop to sell their myriad creations and Dusk traveling on various odd-jobs when he isn't contributing to his sibling's stock.

Once specialized in medicine-making and the effects of chemicals on the body, Dusk's studies have veered away from the living and onto the dead and the space between the soul and the physical, the shift from magic to mortal, turning the man of science into a self-taught wizard of necromany. Though why the change in field and to what end, Dusk is too cagey a fellow to give a straight answer. But he is happy to have left behind his fraught and frozen homeland and continue practicing both his physical and magical skills… even when his constant running and lack of rest puts enough strain on his fickle body to warrant the cane he carries around.

Art does not have their older brother's stomach for such visceral things, sometimes literally getting nauseous over it. Sympathetic and anxious, Art prefers craftsman trades to keep their hands and mind busy. Their shop sells many an enchanted accessory and even some paintings, but Art themself has also been known to write, embroider, often taking brief apprenticeships with other makers. Most everything they wear is handmade or otherwise customized with this varied interest in creative arts, and while Art considers it something of a dream come true to have their new life and run their shop, they worry deeply about the fate of the people they left behind.

I want yui at Christmas Hcs pls she's so cute give us some fluff

Christmas is one of her favourite times of the year, purely for the snow and nostalgia.

Yui would NEVER buy anything during Christmas, handmade goods only. She'll make jumpers, scarves, socks, badges etc. Her speciality is making small and cute animal figures made of clay.

One year she made a Pusheen figure for her friend and she cried from how endearing it was.

She's been handling Christmas dinner since she was eleven years old. But the first time she cooked, it was only curry beef udon for dinner. But the udon broth was homemade, but was a little salty.

She makes amazing roast potatoes that she only makes on Christmas. Some old lady almost broke into the house to get her recipe.

Yui doesn't really expect any big Christmas gifts since her father would only buy her yarn, fluffy socks, and the most darling little snow globes. She would show her collection of ballerina snow globes with pride and joy.

Her Christmas shopping is just food and art supplies so she can get creative. Yui puts so much thought into everything she does during the holiday so it feels more meaningful.

She used to sing in the choir during the church services, both on Christmas Day and Eve.

While Christmas is more of a lovers' holiday in Japan, Yui still celebrates it as a religious holiday. But she has thought about spending it with a significant other a few times.

Experiments with hot chocolate recipes a lot. At the moment, her go to is spices with some caramel covered hazelnuts. With prettily placed cream at the top with a tiny gingerbread man.

The boys always chug all of that.

She made herself a crocheted tote bag with a big pink heart in the middle, all from watching a YouTube tutorial.

Yui made Carla, Reiji and Ruki crocheted book covers, all with different patterns so hopefully they feel special.

Christmas stockings are her favourite things. Tiny gifts always make her so happy, and she always appreciates the surprise.

The end of the day often makes her sad, because of the fading atmosphere and how all enthusiasm just seemingly evaporates.

Taking the decorations down is the most soul crushing thing in the world for her. Yui is still quite childish at heart, so she gets so excited over the holidays. But gets so crestfallen when they end.

Personal Data 3 As YUI and and I farm together more, I'm also getting more opportunities to learn about her. YUI shared a lot of things about her past with me, and we gradually became closer friends.

Personal Data 4 The potatoes gradually sprouted, and YUI and I began to imagine ways to cook potatoes in the future. YUI mentioned that she has a "friend" who always wants to eat fries and burgers, and hopes that I can meet with her and have fries together... but is she really just a friend...?

Personal Data 5 I met YUI's "friend" at a burger restaurant in Shibuya. Unexpectedly, the person I was meeting was an adult woman named Musubi Matsukata... She was clearly surprised that I was only a high school student, but we still ate a burger and fries together. While we ate, she shared a lot of her life story with me, and hoped that I could continue to be friends with YUI.

Personal Data 6 In the virtual world, YUI is working harder to help the potatoes grow, but there seemed to be a problem, and the plants grew sickly. After diligently investigating with YUI, we discovered that they're being eaten by animals... YUI blamed herself for the oversight, and logged off in despair... When will she come online again? When?

Personal Data 7 While waiting for YUI, I tried to drive the pests away and restore the vitality of the potatoes. Soon after, YUI returned to the game and was very happy to see the plants recover. My efforts were not in vain. Like the potatoes, YUI seems to have regained her motivation to farm. She thanked me profusely, and made a promise that we'll overcome difficulties together in the future.

Personal Data 8 YUI learned her lesson from the potato incident, and now started planting watermelons with a more positive attitude. Having regained her spirit, she hoped that I could help Musubi as well, and arranged plans for me to meet with Musubi again soon. But... Is Musubi Matsukata really just YUI's friend?

Personal Data 9 When I met with Musubi again, she seemed to be a lot more cheerful, and talked to me about many things in her work and life. Though she ran into a lot of troubles, she's survived them now. I went with her to the flower shop, and she bought a basil plant. The basil faced the sun, as Musubi hoped her own life would grow towards the sun from now on.

Personal Data 10 Back in the game, YUI became more active. She's begun to try to expand the scope of our land in the virtual world, wanting to have more and more. She told me that Musubi's life is gradually getting on the right track. She lives an active life, and seems to have found her goals in both the real and virtual worlds. She invited me to continue farming with her, and as a partner, I'll definitely continue to work with her.

Christmas Countdown day 10 — help your kids buy (or make) a Christmas present for their parent

“I’m trying to get rid of you.” He cut you off with a smirk and forcefully slipped a card into your hand, his name scrawled across the front with the expiry date that was set for a few years away. “Don’t come back until you’ve spent at least a couple thousand.”

You blanched, your eyebrows frowning as a look of confusion crossed your face. Not only had he not let you back into the house after telling you that Steve, Scott and Nat’s girlfriends were taking you out, but he had given you the directive that you were to spend his money on yourself, and if you hadn’t spent the amount he wanted he would spend it on you himself.

“Have fun baby.” Curtis kissed you while you were still confused and shocked, his amusement at your stunned expression unbound. “Don’t let her come back until she’s spent a few thousand!”

He had talked over and closed the door, locking you out before he turned on his heel and looked back toward his boys running down the hall. Curtis had picked up the pace to follow them toward the table and the mass amount of crafting stuff they had. They had a distinct picture in mind of what they wanted to make you, and a clear directive that they were going to make you Christmas gifts instead of buying them.

“You can buy momma anything you want, we’re gonna make it.” James had got the idea of building handmade snow globes with their picture in from one of the craft stores they had begged you to take them to. “I wanna use this one.”

Curtis couldn’t deny them the chance to make you something versus buying you something, not when he knew you would love it more than a bought gift. You may not have known it, but you were closer to the centre of their world than you realized. You were the glue that held them together since you’d overtaken the main role as their caretaker.

You were Curtis’ future wife, he knew without a doubt that he would marry you and make you the first and only Mrs. Curtis Everett.

You were his boys mama, whether you had known or not how much they had truly become enraptured by you.

You were the first real mother figure they ever had, and the dynamics had shifted from you being their nanny to being someone they had bonded to in the manner of sons.

“I like it,” Curtis had taken a spot across the table from Theo and James, looking over the random things they had brought and made him buy, “Theo’s gonna do one too?”

“I’m gonna make a picture frame. Momma loves pictures.” Theo had boasted, neither boy shy about calling you their mom. “Momma said she wants one of those instant cameras, so she can take lots of pictures of us to hang in our room.”

“What are you gonna get her daddy?” James questioned Curtis, dumping the box of air dry clay over onto the table, his blue eyes perfectly matched to Curtis.

“A ring,” Curtis picked up one of the pre-made salt dough ornaments before he reached for a colourful marker, “and a box to put it in.”

Weekend With The Grays Day 5 Prompt - Archery

Evening all! This is another addition of mine for @endlessly-cursed's fun Weekend With The Grays event for Hogwarts Legacy, who I thank for hosting it. Prim is her OC, while Malcolm who is mentioned here, is @gaygryffindorgal's OC. Bella belongs to @mjs-oc-corner.

Little Danny growing up in West Virginia pretended he was Robin Hood while playing in the woods with his brother. The only thing he wished he had then was a bow and some arrows. It was perhaps for the best then given his age. They weren’t toys, and the risk of them getting hurt with them wasn’t worth it. Such times were well gone eventually. As teenagers they matured and learned how to channel and control their magical strength. It paralleled their growth as people.

The dreams Danny had as a little boy came true when he was an older kid studying at Hogwarts. He got to learn the art of the bow and arrow in his time at Winbourne. The good eye he had for croquet also made its presence on the range. His shot was sharp and he ended up in close competition with others in the sport. Danny also practiced on his own during his stays. He enjoyed the feeling of lining up the arrow and letting it fly.

A bow was a simple but versatile device with much of a place in place as it was in war. Armies all over favored the weapon until gunpowder and firearms became advanced and affordable to the masses. Yet as a weapon originating from primitive times, the bow remained a common sight in various places around the globe. Within the magical world, the bow kept its place in groups such as the centaurs and the sport of archery.

This year’s Christmas holiday at the estate, Danny would get to shoot some arrows once again. Lady Prim and Lord Malcolm were setting up a range of bullseye targets for their guests. Bird hunting was also a pastime at estates far and wide, but considerations for her condition encouraged a time-honored classic from millennia. People were to be firing a single quiver of arrows in volley. One quiver per each round. The extent of each shooter’s skill and practice would be visible by the end of the contest.

Danny and Bella chatted for a little before the range was ready. 

“I've been really looking forward to this, Bella.”

“How so? Is it because of those Robin Hood you had when you were as small as a baby mooncalf?” she asked in a lighthearted tone.

“What?” he quipped as he giggled “I've gotten leagues above that. I just love shooting a bow now.”

“I know you like to be humble somewhat, but you can speak your mind to me. My ears’ open. I ain't gonna judge my Danny on that.”

“Neither you don’t need to worry about any of that from me.” he said in response.

Bella was satisfied. “Great answer, my love. So, what's one of those memories you were thinking about.”

Danny looked up before he spoke. “I even had a hat like what Robin Hood wore in the old story books. Sadly, it was windy that day and, well the wind swept it off my head.”

Curiosity peaked, Bella raised her eyebrows. “Did you ever get your hat back?”

“No. The hat disappeared into the trees. I went with my brother to look for it but he told me to let it go and led me back out.”

“Aww, that must've been terrible when you were younger.”

“It was. The hat I think was handmade too. I stopped playing as if I was Robin Hood for a little while after that.”

Bella thought of something. “Well now, Danny, about that. Perhaps we can make new memories. It's easy to think so, but I feel it's more worthwhile to leave the past where it is and follow new opportunities.”

“So we're on the same hill.” A horn went off just as he finished.

“I think they're ready now. Can't wait to see what you can do with a bow and bundle of arrows.” Bella told her love with some excitement as they left for the range.”

The last round of the archery contest was nearing it's end. Danny was on his last shot. He readied the arrow and pulled back the arrow. “Last one better land it too.” he muttered before he took a deep breath, aimed, and let it fly.

It jumped off the string as it rebounded and pierced the winter air at high momentum before disappearing among the cluster of arrows in the target. Everyone went to inspect their targets after the round concluded. Bella joined Danny at his target. 

“You seem to have it on point, they're all around the bullseye. And wait… you got one right in the center.”

“Oh? That must've been my last arrow. Getting a total bullseye only seemed like a dream. I never thought much of it, I mean.”

Bella approached and complimented Danny as she kissed him on the cheek. “That was amazing still, and deserves some recognition.”

“Thanks so much, dear.”

Prim then walked up to see how well he did as she was inspecting the results of each of the guests.

“Congratulations on making it right in the middle, Danny. That doesn't happen a lot.” she praised.

“It's much appreciated, my lady.” I may have a lot of practice but there was still luck in there too.”

“You can still take some pride in it. You're still a good shot, no matter what. Luck alone couldn't pull that off.” she told him.

“In another way of speaking, you're right on the mark like your childhood hero, Robin Hood. Need proof? We have right it here. You can hang your hat on it.” she laughed. They all happily agreed.

Raf and Sam with the random emojis 🎲🐈🚃

They chose to get overseas when their career ended for two reasons: the pressure and the change of scene. Playing for a team like Montréal is a lot of pressure on your shoulders. And although they were close to their families by staying in the province, they already were planning to go somewhere else for the rest of their career, knowing that the League wasn’t really for them anymore.

To make a clear decision, a dice was made. Since Raf adores playing board games so much, it was an easy way to settle the perfect destination. They had a few in mind. Mostly in Europe but they looked for a league in Asia as well. That was unexpected for both of them but it was also necessary. They rolled the handmade dice and it stopped on Japan, of all the countries.

It’s literally at the other end of the globe. It’s enough to be completely forgotten about. That’s what they were looking for.

Sam receives a text from Raf as he is coming back from the little market with some flowers and some fish for today’s dinner. If there is a place in the world that is finally able to balance the needs of his stomach: it’s Japan, and especially Osaka where there is literally a whole street of food waiting for him everyday as he comes back from a game or a practice.

From Raf: Will be there in a few, we had an overtime.

Sam smiles.

To Raf: Then, wait for me, I’m going to join you if you’re not too far!

His team is not really far away from where he is. He can walk a few more blocks just to run into him in time.

From Raf: Still in the locker room, if you’re so keen to it.

To Raf: Will wait for you outside then.

Sam takes some steps back before heading to the facility where Raf plays. It has been so easy for them here. It’s incredible how it’s not difficult to navigate. His Japanese is not on point but he has the basics. Raf is better than him for this.

He walks until he arrives and it coincides with Raf getting out and some of his teammates waving at him while they get out. “Good game?”

“We won but I’m tired.” Raf laughs.

Sam takes his stick, letting Raf with the bags because he has his other hands full. “We’ll be home in a few.” He reassures him.

“Can’t wait to sit down and relax, I’m not going to lie to you.”

They head for the bus along the other Japanese who look just as exhausted as Raf who nearly falls asleep on his shoulders during the trip back. They get off and the same cat from their next-door neighbors is waiting for them outside. They go upstairs. Sam unlocks the door. He puts Raf’s bag close to it. He let his partner going in first.

“You can go take a nap while I make us dinner.” Sam passes a hand in his hair, lovingly.

Raf’s eyes are tired and he’s blinking back to him. He goes to kiss him lazily before he heads for the couch. Sam goes behind the kitchen counter. He replaces the flowers for the fresh ones he brought earlier from the market. He goes to check on Raf who is already napping on the couch. Sam smiles. He reaches for the blanket to put over him.

He then heads to his quarters to make them a good dinner for them to enjoy after this. And that’s when he thinks that he wouldn’t have it any other way.

@gnzma A little, black and white package is left on the bed. A drawing skull symbol and sunglasses are left on top of it, Guzma's signature. More or less. The box isn't well made, not in the slightest -- but the little Skull-like bandana, brand new and colored in bright blue and blacks with a small piece of a Bugunium Z on it, sure is! It's not perfect, but it's the little imperfections that show it's handmade. A small gift that took him weeks, one that he isn't even present to give.

still, it is mokuroh that discovers the present, out of habit still resting in its trainer's loft from time to time, & it brings it down for the professors to see. they in turn pass on the message to satoshi, who on the other side of the world takes the information with an excited grin, looking forward to his next visit to alola for two more reasons, already mulling over in his mind the potentials of utilizing the z - crystal in battle.

the fact of the gift in the first place is by no means taken for granted, an appreciative fondness keeping the grin up 'till the champion's cheeks ache. that guy ...

satoshi asks the professors to keep the items tucked away safely for when he comes back around, & makes sure to order a delivery pokémon to send over a box of malasadas enough for the house & then some ( he never did check which flavors the grunts preferred, so it's another batch of a couple of each ) . when asked if he wishes to add a note, he simply has a " thank you :-) " added. it's the most satoshi can think to do from across the globe, but he hopes the appreciation comes through anyhow.
