Gruff's Rocking Birthday Tribute 2024

Belated Happy Birthday to Gruff! 🥳🐐🎂🎉

Gruff is my most favorite villager from the Animal Crossing franchise, since I started playing my first Animal Crossing game. Gruff is a sophisticated musician and artist who loves rock music and dark, edgy aesthetic. So the best way to show my love and appreciation for him is to feature him performing in a rock concert.

I know Gruff's birthday was last August 29, which means I'm 2 weeks late to post this. The animation was put on hold several times due to work, the ongoing renovation of our home, errands needed to be done and problems piled up along the way that needed to be resolved. But despite the hindrances, I'm glad I was able to finish this animation, it's better than not having it done at all.

I hope you enjoy this short music video! Storyboard, rigging, roughs, animation and effects done by yours truly. It's not as grand as how I wanted it to be but still, I'm very happy with the result and enjoyed the process.

Hopkins Birthday Special 2024

Belated Happy Birthday to Hopkins! 🥳🐰🎂🎉

Hopkins the blue rabbit is the star in my little animated video, he's a character from Animal Crossing: New Horizons, a popular social simulation game for Nintendo Switch. He's one of my favorite villagers from the Animal Crossing franchise and what's the best way to show my love and appreciation than to create a cute and sugary-themed animated music video dedicated for him.

Finally finished this within 3 weeks. I know Hopkins' birthday was last March 11 and I'm more than a week late to post this. I was overcome by the deadlines of work that I barely got time to complete this personal animation right away. But better late than never, March is still his birth month so at least I was able to finish this before it ended.

I hope you enjoy this short music video! Storyboard, rigging, roughs, animation and effects done by yours truly. It was an enjoyable experience. 😊

Just finished my late Christmas-themed art presenting my favorite characters from the popular cozy game Animal Crossing New Horizons: Gruff and Hopkins. Ambling through the snow they enjoy seeing the colorful illuminated decors that brighten up the late afternoon snowy sky of the island, while warming themselves with a delicious, hot coffee purchased from The Roost. It's truly a delight to enjoy the winter. 🎄🎁❄️☕

Gruff my Rockabilly Dude

My 1st Animal Crossing artwork featuring my no. 1 favorite villager and dreamie Gruff! I love Gruff so much and maybe even forever? Animal Crossing is just therapeutic and I realized the need to draw my dreamies to express how much I'm grateful for playing this relaxing game. I need cozy games in my life as a way to heal from my mental condition. But most importantly, Gruff made me love Animal Crossing because he's such a wonderful friend and father figure type of neighbor.

A Hopeful Afternoon with Genji

Behold, it's Avatar Genji from the new Webtoon Comic: The Legend of Genji.

Life is not easy for Genji but the afternoon sun beams with hope, it made him smile a little now that work is over.

I did it. I drew my beloved Genji! Yea!! I'm happy on how this piece turned out and I definitely enjoyed every process of it. I needed to stretch from all the commissions and full bodied raunchy art that I needed something simple and less complex for a change such as a bust shot of a new cutie like Genji.

I was dying to draw Genji, the new Avatar. I really love his simple and down to earth design and mostly the developing plot behind his story. He has a serious, responsible big brother personality that attracts my attention. I've read all five chapters and am waiting for the next ones to come. Did I mention I have a thing for serious and responsible, big brother character types? That's why Genji won my heart!

Try to Smile Wolfgang

What does Wolfgang do everyday? He bakes! Yes, Wolfgang loves baking, it's his passion. He runs and works in the family bakery. A lot of things have transpired during the course of his growing up years, which is why Wolfgang decided to become responsible at an earlier age. (That I would elaborate the details soon!)

However, the family bakery business takes up most of his time, it keeps Wolfgang too occupied he tends to miss school or give up doing other things on his "supposed" to be free time.

Here, Wolfgang is up early as usual and it seems like he won't be able to attend school today. But his friend (not in the picture, but we're seeing through his POV) pays him a surprise visit (which he usually does, who we'll be seeing on my next posts) and checks on him.

He loves what he's doing, but he's not smiling. Why Wolfgang?

Wolfgang feels like he's being interrupted but his friend means well. Why not pause and try smiling at the camera? It'll just take a few seconds.

Well, that didn't turned out as planned. ( ˵ᵔ∀ᵔ˵;)ゞ

Wolfgang is not Amused

Oh no, somebody is late! They better come up with a good explanation because Wolfgang is not pleased, he highly values punctuality.😅 I now introduce another original character of mine who will be very important in my upcoming personal project that I am currently working on. His name is Wolfgang Reichardt, the strong, stalwart and fearless leader of the goth-punk vigilante group: the Baphomet's Children. Aside from his imposing build and gruff demeanor, he is also known for his quick temper. 😨 Wolfgang was inspired by spikes, metal, piercings, dark makeup and everything black.

The True Beauty of Hisui

My favorite art from last year during the hype of Pokemon Legends: Arceus. It was my most challenging by far, but I had fun doing this. I just love Adaman, he instantly became a new favorite character after watching the trailers from last year. I love his overall design, his color palette and exotic beauty, so the best way to show my love for him is through spicy hot art. 

And here's the lucky, unsuspecting speculators Irida and Rei (he’s 18 here duh!).

Grunge Kid Charlie Yang '93

Ok, I introduce one of my original characters or OC Charlie Yang. He loves skateboarding, grunge music and ketchup.

He's a rebellious teenager who is reckless and obnoxious which often leads him to trouble. He often picks on other kids, pulls pranks on grown-ups who get in his way and decorate wall and monuments with graffiti.

Despite his revolting disposition, deep down Charlie is a lonely, often neglected latchkey kid who yearns for love and affection. Charlie was inspired by flannels, skateboards, grunge music, dirt and ketchup.

My Boi Guzma flaunting his beach ready hot body for everyone to behold. Summer usually arrives on April in my country but I can already feel the intense heat wave burning up my skin, so a night beach party themed art is appropriate plus I always wanted to draw Guzma for a very long time.

☆It's Purely Refreshing☆

My birthday gift I created last year for my bestie from Twitter.  This smoking hot hunk over here is her original character (or OC) Freeburn, a fire type superhero. He's my favorite among her OCs. I picked a beach scene because they're always my favorite themes and in my country it's almost always blazing hot, so a dip in the blue ocean water with a cold glass of orange cocktail is purely refreshing. Obviously this place is perfect for the flaming hottie Freeburn to cool down.

My Entry for #Yeiko30kDTIYS

Last September 2022, I participated in a special occasion called #Yeiko30kDTIYS which was hosted by one of my favorite artists in Instagram: @yeiko_art.  

This is my first attempt to participate in an event on drawing another artist's character in #DrawThisInYourStyle challenge, of course I was excited so I joined.

The character I drew in my style here is the handsome and hunkalicious Daniel, @yeiko_art's OC. I'm very fond of this character because he's super cute, plus I also have a thing for dude sporting dreads. (♡∀♡)

I'm not sure what happened to the result of the event, the artist who hosted it didn't make an update or announce the winner, probably due to only a few participants who joined which resulted to not having enough people to make the cut. The price for the said occasion was he was going to draw any character the winner likes for free. It's a bummer because I love his style and I would like to have a favorite character of mine be drawn by my favorite artist, but it doesn't matter. What's important is I joined and I did my best to draw his character, but most importantly, I had fun! (❁^∀^❁)

Ya Boi is helping me overcome my loss, grief and chronic depression through creating art of him. Done with Guzma's sketch and satisfied with it. This is actually a digital redraw over my scanned traditional sketch from 2 years ago (3rd pic below), which I found among my old files. I made him bigger and thiccer with more muscle mass and weight. Because my headcanon tells me Ya Boi is not skinny. The line art will follow once I feel better, my illness & instability is a hindrance to my momentum. I wanted to draw, line & color Guzma since day one.
