imagine some old man lying to you and endangering (understandably tho) you and your fellow twelve-year-olds and then guilting you about how if he dies his poor daughter will be left all alone and then you go to his how and meet her and her disillusioned rage-filled son who watched his father's brutal murder and became trapped in an obsessive hateful spiral bc he couldn't even imagine a world in which the monster who ruined his life would ever cease to be present in every waking misery-filled moment of his pitiful life and then your dumbest friend yells at him for not trying to punch his way out of crushing systemic oppression and you aren't really paying attention to any of that bc his mom is uncannily similar to your mom in just enough ways that you're totally fine spending as much time Not Dealing With That and climbing trees instead

and then you do go to the bridge and you get fucked up so bad your magic eyes activate (actually they already activated but you don't know that bc your dickweed brother was too busy traumatizing you to say "oh hey nice sharingan good job sasuke") and then your stupid idiot orange-wearing jerkwad teammate who won't leave you alone and also kissed you once barges in like a stupid orange-wearing idiot and you fling yourself in front of him as a meatshield and hope someone else deals with your dickweed brother bc you probably just got yourself killed for this idiot

and then you wake up and everybody except your team is dead and your other teammate is crying bc she thought you were dead but it turns out the guy who killed you (who also looks a little bit like your mom but maybe you're just losing it and anyway he's got a hole in his chest now so who cares) was too nice to kill you and the last time someone could've killed you but didn't for some reason it went Super Great so you kinda just wanna go home and sleep for like a week but before you can do that the townspeople name the bridge after your dumb teammate even tho as far as you're aware you're the one who nearly died for it and the rest of your team looks basically ok while you are literally covered in holes but sure fine whatever

and then you go home and it turns out that everything just gets worse forever

A heroic dad from the past whom the son refused to speak about

In the past the dad and the son were so close and the son highly looked up to his father

But then a big incident changed their hopeful little world

The heroic dad was vilified for standing on his principle

Thus the son watched his strong and invincible dad die in front of him, forever unable to protect the boy anymore

the shadow of the heroic yet tragic dad haunts the son

and that instilled deep fear and helplessness inside their little heart

I REALLY wonder what Kakashi was thinking when looking at Inari. Did he recall his past self? The massive admiration and adoration turned into fear. Not only fear for himself, but also fear for anyone in front of his eyes turned into the tragic father. He knew Inari was not just being whiny. He knew that in a twisted way, Inari means well. Inari was afraid for Naruto & the gang, afraid that by facing Gato, they would die tragically like his dad. He knew the anger and frustration because looking at them why aren't they afraid? Why do they act so recklessly while I deeply feel scared? Me, the son of a great hero.

They must be just so stupid. They just don't understand.

I think that's why Kakashi looked out to sit by the side of curling Inari. To calm the boy's heart, persuade him to let go of his fear, to accept the help of a new hero.

Cara Zimmermen's Story:

Cara, a young woman hardened by a brutal past, lives in a decaying house ruled by her abusive father, a serial killer who keeps her, her sister Alma, and their catatonic mother as prisoners. One night, during a drunken rampage, he tries to drag Alma into his sinister cellar. Driven by desperation and instinct, Cara kills him with a candlestick, freeing her mother from her shackles. Her mother awakens with chilling clarity, acknowledging Cara for the first time by marking her with blood and taunting her dead husband.

At ten, Cara helplessly watches her older sister Kira die of illness. At eleven, slavers capture her, and a woman guard named Voxrilies brutalizes her, yet her spirit remains unbroken. By nineteen, still imprisoned, she crafts a weapon from bone and plots her escape. When a fellow slave threatens to betray her, she kills him in a berserker rage and flees into the wilds of Howa’ah. There, she bonds with Thrym, a bear spirit and god of the Paw of the Bear clan. Their relationship begins roughly but grows into deep, mutual trust. Thrym, a fierce battle bear and apex predator, teaches her survival—hunting, killing, and honoring prey—while disliking strangers, confinement, and disrespect. Cara embraces his wild nature, finding in him a teacher and parent, their bond enriched by his messy love for Hawthorn Wyvern Honey.

At nineteen, healthier but scarred, Cara seeks a new path. Unable to read or write due to her stolen childhood, she finds a bounty hunting academy requiring only courage and skill. During the entrance exam, she must climb an enchanted pillar and evade magical vines. After days of failure and mockery, her mentor Stratus suggests using frost but doubts her. Cara, tapping into her berserker gene and Howa’ah’s ley lines with Thrym’s aid, conquers the pillar with icy power. Stratus, awed by her totem-bearing spirit, declares her a victor, recognizing her as a Guardian of Howa’ah.

Later, by a stream, Cara encounters Kaiza, a former prince obsessed with her. He had made a terrible mistake choosing Lyra as his queen, a decision that cost him Cara and his throne. Driven by regret, he tracks her down in the wilds to beg forgiveness. Cara, wary, threatens him with an ice spear, mocking his pampered past, but he pleads to prove himself, admitting Lyra’s crown meant nothing without her. Reluctantly, she allows him to join her and Thrym, setting strict rules.

Squadron Kemuri Jouka (Smoke Crew / K.J.-05)

~{ Purpose }~

Squad K.J.-05 is one of many squads focused on planet purification and helping individuals afflicted by the smoke, however unlike some of the other crews, they are a hands-on out in the field type group, made up of like-minded or similarly motivated individuals. Oftentimes they head out on missions that are deemed high red smoke risk, and happen to encounter cultists frequently, though they have skills that are suited to handling red smoke based attacks. The crew has a 50/50 schedule, half of the time being deployed and the other half being at the station and doing work there.

In the dead of night, Billy received a notification over his transmitter. It was a new mission; supposedly to an asteroid belt that had recently been found. Billy didn't see why his crew couldn't handle it; the main issue of the mission was the smoke in the area, which their task was to clear it out. Little did Billy know that memories would be haunting him that day, memories he didn't even know he had.

As the crew arrived at the asteroid belt, they found that the entire area was a swath of red smoke and debris. They found that not all of the debris looked like stone or space dust, and that some of them had distinct shape; some of them looked like the rubble of buildings like skyscrapers or high-rises, and others of common city structures, mangled nearly beyond recognition. As soon as Billy saw the area, he began to have a horrid headache, as if he recognized the place, as if he knew the place; he didn't know where from or why, but taking one look at Kaiza's face told him everything, it was Ourea, their home planet. Having this be one of his crew's first missions was a sick trick by fate, a cruel joke that should not have played out, but destiny bid it so. Billy held himself together as he worked to complete the mission, purifying the area of red smoke alongside Shiny and what Kaiza could manage.

It took them a while, but in the end, the area was cleared out to the best of their abilities. While they worked they observed that the rubble looked like the planet had imploded, the how is unknown, they just know that the end wasn't very pleasant for anyone. Once they had completed the mission, Billy reported back and gave in the mission report, requesting at the end to never be deployed to that quadrant ever again, for the sake of his crew.

As a reminder, this is a story that takes place after the events of a What-If Season 3 story that I made before the A2Z movie trilogy was even conceived. So while some things from the trilogy may carry over, this is essentially a separate timeline.
