I want to enjoy photos of Daniel from the Hamptoms, but why the hell is he not yet back to Europe, preparing for a fricking TRIPLE-HEADER? Like, this is the stuff people use as a proof that he doesn't take the sport seriously

tbh...i am at the opposite end of the spectrum to you. a triple header is coming up so i think its really good he's having some rest and relaxation with no sponsor work before three very hectic weekends. testing used to be at barcelona and so he's done thousands of laps round that track, and they are bringing upgrades, so they would have done sim work weeks ago for that. once he's back in europe, after the barcelona weekend, he'll be able to go to faenza/milton keynes on the days between races. he's fine. i think this week will have been good for him. constantly having to be switched on and thinking about racing is something he's spoken before about hating, so i hope he had a quiet week, did some physical training, and ate some good food. that's just my opinion tho

also max is on holiday, george and lando have been seeing partying multiple times this week, lewis is in la, valterri's competed in some bike race? like idk i think they're all just enjoying a week off?

josh: i'm a simple guy. i grew up on a farm and i've always gravitated towards foods and places that feel familiar. especially since i've been living in america for awhile now. i knew you'd understand. something about fresh jam on a piece of toast is so comforting. do you have a favourite kind? even the most amazing jobs have drawbacks, but i tend to try focusing on the positives. that seems to get me out of bed during days when i'd much rather just stay in bed. oh no, i have a flat in LA. it's not very big or impressive, but since i don't get to spend too much time either, it's perfectly serviceable for now. i do get to stay in some of the best hotels and still one of the greatest luxuries is getting a room service breakfast and being able to eat it in a robe in complete silence. josh: i'm expecting to see all the beautiful snowy christmas photos from lapland next year then. bonus points if they include elf hats and reindeer. josh: how were your trips? did you go to both already? i swear i've lost my sense of time, but we're just going to blame jetlag for all of this. which did you end up liking more? italy has the best food and scenery but the hamptoms seem like a very nice place as well. i don't think i've ever gone but maybe one day soon.

elizabeth: that sounds like the kind of place one can feel at home at. are you serious a long island ice tea with peach at that? im all in and yet another thing you have me looking forward to josh! this is going to sound incredibly simplistic but british jams and marmalades are it. thats what also has me excited for breakfast i mean it my grandmother use to get us a fortnum basket for christmas every year and I was so excited just for the jam bit. but come on a slice of butter bread with jam or good scrambled eggs...heaven. true we did consciously choose their job paths, that is what i say to myself too when i do sometimes go to complain about aspects of it. wait you are living out of hotels actually right now? How eloise of you! bet you stay in the places with the good jams and robes.

elizabeth: well one I am going on with my best friend so i know we will have the best time at that one. also totally eating my way through so you cant ever oh thats such a good point, crowds are overwhelming on vacation for a lot of us and it just makes it more enjoyable the more you can get off the beaten path. im totally hoping for your asia trip for you right now. i know youll do it.

When the Party started to talk about class struggle, we found that we had to start talking about some guns. If we never negated the fact that there was racism in America, but we said that when you, the by-product, what comes off of racism, that capitalism comes first and next is racism. That when they brought slaves over here, it was to take money. So first the idea came that we want to make money, then the slaves came in order to make that money. That means that capitalism had to, through historical fact, racism had to come from capitalism. It had to be capitalism first and racism was a by-product of that.

These are conversations that desperately need to be had right now. There is so much history between both the Asian American community and the black community in this country that has been systematically erased to keep them separated, in fact the Asian American civil rights movement takes most of it's roots from cooperation with the black civil rights movement and the Black Panthers Rainbow Coalition. These communities have been pitted against each other to enforce the systems of white supremacy and the class system, the model minority myth has been used to defund programs which are commonly known to help poor minority communities with the excuse that because Asian Americans have pulled themselves up from their bootstraps then so should other communities. But this ignores the fact that the U.S. actually used targeted immigration to only allow Asians with "desirable" skill sets and created a self fulfilling prophecy with the model minority myth when only just a few years before the Asian immigrants coming to America were seen as an uneducated drug addicted horde on its way to steal American jobs, it also ignores the fact that most of the Asian American population actually lives in the same state of poverty as the other minority populations who benefit from these social programs. So the model minority myth has been propped up to divide both communities through the idea that Asian Americans are higher on the economic hierarchy and this doesn't even factor in the effect that colorism has on the community divide.

And now with Covid-19 creating an increase in hate crimes against Asian Americans, many of which are unfortunately being perpetuated by black Americans, there is an even greater divide between the communities and we can see the Asian American community turning towards law enforcement and the police to try and help end these attacks. In fact the NYPD has even created an Asian hate crime task force to try and deal with the rise in attacks due to Covid-19 racismhttps://www.cnn.com/2020/08/18/us/nypd-asian-hate-crime-task-force/index.html

And while that is an understandable conclusion it needs to be said that the police are not friends to the Asian American community either, just recently 19 year old Christian Hall was fatally shot by the police while having a mental health episode https://www.weareresonate.com/2021/02/asian-teen-suffering-from-mental-health-crisis-shot-by-police-despite-having-his-hands-up-christian-hall/

The police are not friends to any community in this country, but that of the system it upholds and it's time for our communities to stop fighting each other and start fighting the system that pit us against each other in the first place. One of Fred Hamptom's biggest legacies will always be his belief that the unity among all people will eventually lead to a better future for those who have always been under the boot of white supremacy and classism. It's time we remember that legacy and honor it by working together again to end this division from the roots instead of trying to get the system to fix these issues, because the system was the one who created these problems in the first place.

This conversation between China Mac and Mistah F.A.B may be a small step in the grand scheme of things, but we need these small steps to eventually reach our big goals.

This issue is a complicated and extremely nuanced one that is going to take a lot of work to fix and this post is very surface level at best, but I haven't really seen anyone talking about these things on here and I figured something needed to be said, Fred Hamptom's and the Black Panthers' idea of class unity is needed now more than ever and more conversations like these need to be had if we ever want to solve the inherent problems with our system.
