getting mental healthcare is really cool, its like asking someone to take a sledgehammer to your self-interest and then saying thank you after because it makes your life moderately easier even though you have to deal with this shit now
#red rambles#my psychiatrist wants to put me on anxiety medication to help me sleep because she thinks the issue with me sleeping and stuff is ptsd rela#related and I CANT REALLY ARGUE??? i dont think it is and as far as im concerned i dont feel anxiety at all but like I CANT REALLY ARGUE. i#keep thinking about it because to be completely honest this pisses me off more than i can express in words and ive been gnashing my teeth#about it all afternoon and like i dont think 'i have to play loud and abrasive music at night or else i jerk awake at every sound and can't#convince myself it was nothing and also have auditory hallucina#oh fuck. lmfao i forgot to mention that.#she was even talking about how auditory hallucinations are a lot more significant and i do just kind of have low grade auditory hallucinati#all the fucking time i just dont pay attention to them because i play music and ignore it. hashtag mentally healthy and sound#like im fine the last time i heard a coherent Voice telling me to coherent Do Things i was like 17 lmfao#but i sure do hear footsteps that aren't and breaking glass that isnt and indistinct human voice murmuring sounds that arent all the time#........ fucking i dont feel like emailing her to be like hi i forgot to mention this because i am so good at tuning it all out.#if its that big a deal it'll start mattering for realsies and if its not ill just let it lie until next appointment#ANYWAY THAT DOES KIND OF SOUND LIKE THE BEHAVIORS OF AN ANXIOUS PERSON. A LITTLE.#the jerking awake if there are noises and making up noises to jerk awake to bit. specifically#but also like it doesnt scare me it just makes me wake up and then i am awake and going 'what??? bhuh???' and then im mad im awake but#im not scared very often. it takes a lot. ignore that the last time i got significantly capital s scared was like two weeks ago i thought m#friend's house was on fire and they were about to go to sleep and die. thats a reasonable situation to be freaked out in#ANYWAY THIS PISSES ME OFF REALLY BAD. I DONT LIEK IT.

Encountering Art Nouveau in Brussels
We were in Brussels last weekend for a reunion of old college friends. Time was at a premium and we were not able to see everything we wanted to. Brussels is well known for its Art Nouveau buildings but unfortunately we could not fit in a tour of some of its highlights. Incidentally though we came across some interesting examples while visiting other places of interest. For example, take the shop…

Who am I to say what is wrong or right.i know it's ok hear what you want to hear. If this is my worst guess I'll stay if not I'll be on my the way. Don't wait just think. I don't care where you were before it really doesn't matter or where you were today all this time you should be feeling stronger but you're not. Make your mind up don't be afraid about what you want to say I know their in your head just tell them this is what I said. Weighted down inside of us all is something dark don't let it out.hope has lost the battle I'll bring your faith to life.

adding to this that i think sam should doubt what's going on with amy is happening, obviously, hallucifer's proven he can distort reality worse, so i think it should be hallucifer himself who goads sam into digging into his scar. a reverse of the scene with dean in hello cruel world. hallucifer is pushing sam to use him vanishing when the scar is hurt to prove that what's going on with dean is real.
what if. Amy “fix-it” because hallucifer makes sam so paranoid about dean leaving for no reason that sam gives in and follows him and is witness to the whole thing
#hallucifer trying to take a little control over sam's coping mechanism <3#making it into something that he can tell sam to do. that sam will listen to him when he says to do it.#even if sam doesn't think it is. he's building trust there. sam is associating the scar away from dean and more with lucifer.#because now hallucifer is the predictable one. sam *understands* him. that's lucifer. they've been cage mates for decades. maybe centuries.#hallucifer acts a way he expects. and now its dean acting out of character. dean implying that he will hurt sam if he steps out of line#hhhhhhhhhh im just. i love the idea of hallucifer getting between them. alternating between sowing doubt about dean and comforting sam#telling sam his instincts to lie to dean. hide things from him. keep his distance. that they're all correct. that they'll keep sam safe.#that hallucifer will keep sam safe... using the fact that he picks up on things subconsciously...#maybe not all of the things he claims about dean are true... but some are. enough are.#that sam feels like it might be safer to trust him than not.#because what if he isn't lying. sam can't tell which tips aren't true and which are.#and what if he disbelieves the one that tells him dean's fed up. and going to stab him like he did amy. put sam out of his misery.#anyway. all this leading up to sam & hallucifer road trip when dean reacts a little too violently to something to do with sam's hallucinati#and hallucifer's like 'oh yeah he's gonna kill you now. i can tell. we should get out of here.' and sam. i mean. what else can he do.

Chapters 1-4 of Psychosis, Trauma, and Dissociation: Historical conceptions of psychotic disorders and schizophrenia
The term 'psychosis' was first used as an alternative to terms like 'insanity' and 'lunacy.' It was coined by the Austrian physician Ernst von Feuchtersleben, taken from the Greek word 'psyche' (meaning mind or soul) and the Latin suffix '-osis' (meaning an abnormal condition). It referred to a sickness where both the body and the soul were sick, or a disease that affected 'the whole person.' The coining of this term was in response to a German psychiatry debate between mental disease located in the 'soul' and disease located in the 'body' - /Psychiker/ and /Somatiker./ Modernly, 'psychosis' is used to mean 'having psychotic symptoms.' However, psychosis is often used related to incomprehensibility. It's not new - Jaspers argued more than a century ago that 'genuine psychotic delusions' are 'not understandable.' Often, terms like "quasi-psychotic" and "psychotic-like" are used when the behavior can be made sense of in some way. The book then argues that a useful conception of the word psychosis would be one where it means that a) an alteration in the 'hierarchy of reality' has occured, and b) the person as a whole has been changed in a fundamental way.
Thomas Sydenham (1624-1689) used the term 'hysteria' to denote any mental disorder short of 'frank alienation' (outright psychosis), while Thomas Willis (1621-1675) outlined a picture in 1672 of a condition what two centuries later would be called 'dementia praecox' by Emil Kraepelin. In 1808, the term 'psychiatry' was first used by Johann Reil to refer to the treatment of the mind. Now, larger scale scientific observations could be brought to what used to be isolated accounts of individual observers. John Haslam (1766-1844) provided cases that would be consistent with what would later be called 'schizophrenia', and his 1810 book /Illustrations of madness/ detailed a single case of insanity. It was of a paranoid psychotic man, James Tilly Matthews, who believed an 'infernal machine' was controlling his life and torturing him. Haslam also recognized that in some people there were states of excitement and depression that alternated - an early recognition of bipolar disorder. In the mid-nineteenth century, the term 'psychosis' was first proposed by Ernst von Feuchtersleben to replace 'insanity' or 'lunacy.' Ironically though, he considered 'hysteria' to be a neurosis (a term proposed for any disease caused by the functioning of the nerves), and as such it was more 'biological' than psychosis… Less than a generation later, Wilhelm Griesinger helped the somaticists win the soul versus soma dispute and 'psychosis' became a term for 'organically based mental disorders.' Under Griesinger's influence, psychosis came to mean organic (caused by organic processes) and neurosis came to mean non-organic (by-products of psychological development.) Karl Ludwig Kahlbaum (1828 - 1899) labelled the disorders hebephrenia (with his student Ewald Hecker), to mean a psychosis of young adoloscents characterized by mental disorientation, and catatonia, a condition where the patient had no reactivity, was mute, and physically immobile. Emil Kraepelin (1856 - 1926), while he wrote about every major psychiatric disorder, psychosis was a major interest of his. He built upon the ideas of Griesinger and Kahlbaum, observing many patients and outlined a classification of psychosis that is still very evident in the DSM-5. Kraeplin grouped together disorders that had a poor outcome - 'catatonia', 'hebephrenia', and 'dementia paranoides.' On the sixth edition of his textbook, he outlined 'manic depressive psychosis' (bipolar disorder) and 'dementia praecox' (schizophrenic disorders.' Kraeplin claimed that on top of progressive and inevitable decline, essential features were a discrepany between thought and emotion, negativism, stereotypical behaviors, hallucinations, delusions, and disordered thought. His focus on 'inherent bodily defects' in psychiatric disorders and rapid decline led to a pessimisstic outlook on the treatment of dementia praecox. Kraepelin also described 'paranoia,' a chronic illness characterized by delusional beliefs, in the absence of personality changes. He believed paranoia was less severe and associated with partial recovery. The first use of the term 'schizophrenia' was by Eugen Bleuler (1908/1987). Over 10 years, Bleuler developed his ideas on schizophrenia in close cooperation with Carl Jung. Bleuler criticized Kraepelin's idea of dementia praecox, by saying that not all cases began early (praecox) and not all cases ended in full mental deterioration (dementia.) He proposed the term 'schizophrenia' in a Berlin psychiatry conference. The word literally means 'split mind' as he thought that /tearing apart/ ('Zerreissung') and /splitting/ ('Spaltung') were central to the disorder.
Schneider's first-rank symptoms of schizophrenia had a powerful influence on the diagnostic criteria for schizophrenia, from the 1970s onwards. They were considered sufficient but not necessary for a diagnosis of schizophrenia to be made. They were (In German, followed by their english translations): Gedankenlautwerden (audible thoughts), Stimmen in Form von Rede und Gegenrede (voices conversing or arguing), Begleitung des Tuns mit halluzinierten Bemerkungen (voices commenting on one’s behaviour), körperliche Beeinflussung (somatic influences), Gedankenentzug, Gedankeneingebung und ‐beeinflussung(thought insertion, thought withdrawal and thought influences/‘made’ thoughts), echter Wahn als Beziehungssetzung ohne Anlaß (delusional perception).

Obey me brothers + royals with a mc who’s had hallucinations of monsters/weird creatures their whole life and attracted to “scary things”
This is 100% self indulgent, so for some background when I was 5yrs old I watched ghostbusters and woke up at night seeing ghost floating around and ever since then I’ve been attracted to scary things and still will have hallucinations of creatures/monsters that are super realistic so here’s obey me with a mc like that
Lucifer
He’d be very curious about all of it, he’d wanna hear about the first time it happened in extreme detail and would want to know about all the other times and why it happens, but if you’re not comfortable talking about them than he won’t press it and will leave it alone. But if you still have them he’d would require you to tell him so he can prevent another one especially if the hallucinations make you very anxious for a long time. He’d be a bit worried when he finds you staying up reading about real ghost experiences and other paranormal stuff “why do you even read this stuff? Do you think the stuff you’ve seen was real?” “Well I didn’t know there was really demons until a couple months ago”. Doesn’t think that the things you’ve seen were real, just hallucinations.
Mammon
He’s scared of it, he’s really worried the things you’ve seen were real and is scared that they’ll hurt you. He’ll use it as a excuse to be extra clingy to you. “The great mammon will scare of any ghosts from hurting you!!” Then he’ll scream on the top of the lungs when he hears a noise thinking he angered a ghost. He wouldn’t like when you watch horror movies or documentaries about that kind of stuff but he will act like it’s him helping you out “h-hey you shouldn’t be watching this stuff what if you get a nightmare or another hallucination?!” “I like watching this tho” “see you’re already acting crazy!”
Levi
He’d be really curious about it and would show you some anime’s and mangas about horror. He’d want to know about what you’ve seen before and what triggers them if anything does. “That sounds like episode 7 of the anime the lonely human stuck inside a haunted hotel!!” He’s kinda of scared by some of the stories you’ve told him about. He’ll watch horror movies with you and some documentaries depending on what they’re about. He’ll love listening to you tell him about any horror stories you’ve read or heard.
Satan
Most interested in it out of everyone, how often does it occur, what emotions were you feeling before and during the hallucinations, what’s the common reason for them happening, what makes you interested in them, do you think any of them were real???? He’ll want to hear every single detail about each time in order so he can write it down. “Has any of them happened since you’ve been in devildom? Are the human looking or more animal like? Have they ever spoken? Have they gotten more realistic since you’ve now met demons?” He’d find it all really interesting and would love to read and watch horror stories with you. There’s times where the things you’ve described have reminded him of creatures from devildom making him wonder if some of the things you’ve seen were actually real.
Asmo
He would be terrified when you told him about your hallucinations, would be concerned you might be crazy since you see horrifying things yet want to learn more about them. “Are you crazy? Why are you trying to find out more about these creatures when you have me to find out more about *wink wink*” finds documentaries boring most of the time but would enjoy watching horror movies with you and listening to you tell him about the books you’ve while he’s painting your nails or doing your hair.
Beel
Gets concerned when you tell him, and is even more concerned when you tell him you like learning more about scary things “I don’t think it’s normal to want to learn about the things that scare you” but wouldn’t try to stop you from learning as long as it didn’t give you nightmares, if you were getting more hallucinations or nightmares from reading and watching horror things than he’d stop you “you shouldn’t keeping watching these movies and reading these books if it’s causing you harm, why don’t we watch something else” but they weren’t harming you than he’d love watching the movies with you and listening to you tell him about the books and your hallucinations
Belphie
Wouldn’t act like he cared but really he’s concerned that you might have more hallucinations especially after what he had did to you, he’d also be worried that if some of the things you’ve seen were real but he won’t say anything because he doesn’t want to make it worse. Would “watch” horror movies with you (fall asleep next to you while you watch them), and would like listening to you talking to him about your experiences while he falls asleep.
Diavolo
He’d be really curious about them, he’d ask you a-lot of similar questions as Satan. Would be curious since some of the creatures sound like ones from devildom. Would LOVE listening to you tell him all the stories you’ve read, movies you’ve watched and hallucinations you’ve had.
Barbatos
Would be pretty curious but wouldn’t straight out ask you to tell him you’re experiences, he’d just be happy to listen if you started telling him about them. Would find it interesting that some of the creatures resembled devildom
