#halibut sweater

i made the halibut sweater. its my first time making a sweater in the round, making a sweater for me, and the first time ive ever done colorwork.

i did a gauge beforehand on the colorwork but it turns out after getting used to it for a while, my gauge is much tighter for colorwork than regular knit, so the shoulders are a bit tight. Also, the arms are a tigher fit than i would probably like. but it still fits and i feel comfortable wearing it out and im so happy ;_;

since i really wanted to get this done asap to the point of hurting my hands from knitting too much, ive pushed other hobby stuff to the side, like the pokemon cross stitch and painting on a regular basis. i'll be sporadically uploading chaos updates for that.

I was rereading the last chapter of "if you do it right" and i just realized mspar not only walked away into a almost strictly seadweller town(?) But they also took marvus shitty hawaiian shirt with them lol

like imagine seen some lil weird looking thing looking lost and sad as fuck but theyre wearing the MOST ridiculous clothes in existence, mspar just cannot catch a break (even when they just broke two hearts T-T) bless them

god lmao lil alien dude in the funkiest aquarium merch walking around with blood on their hands (the blood of their now broken up relationship). They meet ONE prophet (technically god) and now suddenly Marvus is not good enough for them smh 🙄 I actually didn't realize they stole his shirt lol. He's going to want that back 🤔

fun fact: in the original draft, Zebruh was there, lurking in the background towards the end of the date, and he drove you home. But I figure Marvus and MSPAR had suffered enough without him lmao. But technically MSPAR just had to walk through the mansion's sprawling grounds; a lyft was waiting outside for them (Marvus ordered it for them). Since Blafis and Olivia died (trying to induce the hiccups offscreen), there really were only the landscapers (olive blooded and below) or the valets (brown-burgundy) that MSPAR had to deal with. All the rest of the seadwellers were either inside doing cult shit or outside getting pale and jiggy with it.

So I’ve been knitting in an attempt to decrease my stash scraps. These fish mitts are addictive to make—they’re fun, fast, and simple enough, if you can read a chart and work in the round.

Once I finish the blue fish, I’m planning to do a yellow and brown pair. Pretty much as many pairs as it’ll take while I wait for yarn for the Halibut sweater set I have planned.

Here’s the pattern, for anyone who wants to make their own school of goldfish mittens.

Finished my beloved Halibut Sweater!

This was amazing to knit and even more amazing to wear. The colorwork is spectacular to look at, this has hardly come off me since finishing it. Living my fisherman dream in this.

This was designed by Caitlin Hunter (cannot recommend the pattern enough) and I used the Fibrr Co.’s Lore (which I also can’t recommend enough despite the price)

I am once again taken aback by the fashion of the elderly people who come into our shop. This woman had a cream colored sweater with a linocut of some kind of flounder or halibut on the backside. But I can't find it anywhere ..
