It’s always been a joke. A threat, perhaps. A lingering doubt that something that could happen, just never would. Then it actually happens.
Tim’s years of excessive caffeine intake has damaged his heart. He has a heart attack and dies on the floor of the Batcave all alone. Except, nobody except for him realizes that he’s actually died. Tim was dead for a few minutes, but mysteriously comes back to life. Tim himself isn’t even sure of how this has happened. It isn’t until a month later when he falls through the floor of his bedroom and appears downstairs in the kitchen does he realize he has a problem. He has no idea what to do.
A month after that accident, Red Robin is flanked by guys in white suits. They’re also targeting Red Hood, and neither man know why. This leads them to Amity Park and to a certain ghost named Phantom, who clocks them both as half ghosts (but Jason’s core isn’t fully developed yet, cause Lazarus pits are nasty.)
Tim finally learns the truth of what happened the day he died. He had come back to life because of the ectoplasm in his veins. He was now a halfa, a being between life and death.
Tim is scared shitless of what this means for him.

What if Tim was the Ghostliest Bat
Lots of DPxDC crossover writers have Tim Drake being the one non-liminal Bat, or becoming liminal late in the game. This is probably due to the fact that most of them have died and come back and Tim hasn't.
It makes sense, but, hear me out, what if Tim was actually the most liminal and had been liminal for the longest.
The other Bats had a more standard type of death and resurrection. Afterward, they are simply living people.
Tim's parents are archeologists and bring back artifacts from all over the world. At least some of these artifacts are kept in the house. It wouldn't be too much of a stretch to think that some of them have something ghostly to them.
The specifics could vary. Perhaps the artifacts just steadily release ectoplasm into the environment. Perhaps they thin the veil in places and Tim wanders in and out of the Ghost Zone, getting as much socialization from ghosts as from the living, if not more. Heck, maybe one of those artifacts was meant for travel between realms and Tim accidentally opens a portal on himself and becomes a halfa at a young age.
However it happens, Tim grows up exposed to ectoplasm day in and day out. He adapts to the environment he spends his formative years in. He gradually becomes more ghostly. No one notices for a while because no one around him recognizes the signs and Tim is a quick study at keeping up appearances, at least to surface-level observation.
Tim knows how to behave around strangers and distant acquaintances. That said, he doesn't necessarily realize that his more ghostly tendencies are abnormal and not simply something that etiquette dictates is not shared with strangers.
Tim pays relatively little concern to his own safety because some part of his subconscious knows that he's already assured an afterlife that's familiar and comfortable to some part of him, though he is still conscientious and considerate of the health and safety of others.
He obsesses over The Bats, follows them around and takes pictures. Ghosts tend to be fairly intense about what's important to them, so it doesn’t seem wrong to him. After all, he's not trying to force himself into their lives, and he makes a point to be unobtrusive with his photography so as not to impact them at all. By ghostly standards, he's being quite reserved by keeping his distance and taking care not to bother them, and his human social knowledge doesn't extend far beyond surface level.
He doesn't interact with the Bats at all until Batman's mental health becomes a public safety issue, and even then he tries to get them to resolve the matter internally, first. He only begins directly inserting himself into their lives after recieving express permission from a member of the family.
Once he does become one of them, however, he is intense and unreserved about it in the way that ghosts tend to be about everything that's important to them. He pays close attention and remembers everything. He goes above and beyond with anything they might ask of him, and even with some things they don't ask for but seem to need. He cares in a way that's just a bit uncanny.
No one talks to him about some of his more extreme tendencies. Maybe they just don't have the emotional bandwidth because they're still grieving. Maybe the Bats refrain from commenting on Tim's stalking and general over-the-top-ness because stones and glass houses.
Tim doesn't understand what went wrong in his relationship with Steph because human behavior standards and boundaries are not intuitive to him, nor has he been taught about them. Grief-stricken Bats are not a good resource when it comes to behavioral norms. For all that she's certain he'd never intentionally hurt or upset her, Tim is creepy. Sweet and caring, but creepy.
He also doesn't freak out when Steph comes back and pretends to be a hallucination. The deception doesn't work at all because his subconscious ghostliness means that his brain doesn't automatically reject the idea of a dead comrade being back. He just goes straight into "Hooray, you're back!" mode without stopping to question it. Steph doesn't take the deception any further because he's already caught onto it and he's so happy to see her.
They remain friends.
Jason comes back from the dead and Tim immediately latches on. He doesn't care if Jason is attacking him. Jason is one of his, and he's back. He grins and keeps his banter friendly and gushes about how happy he is to have Jason back through the entire beatdown at Titans Tower. He doesn't actually start sounding worried until Jason begins walking away after writing on the wall with his blood. Tim begs him not to go. The whole experience freaks Jason out.
Tim initially has a bit of an issue with Damian, not because of the murder attempts (which Tim doesn't especially care about), but because of Damian's insistence on not allowing Tim to remain in the family, and because his apparent goal of being Batman's only family member makes him register as a threat to others Tim cares about. Eventually, things settle a bit once it's made clear that Damian isn't going after anyone else and will not be allowed to kick him out.
The other Bats are equal parts wary of Tim (because he's creepy and unsettling in ways that are difficult to define) and worried for Tim (because he doesn't seem to have a sense of self preservation).
Lots and lots of Tim being spooky without realizing it and freaking everyone out with no explanation. No one understands what, exactly, is so off about Tim that makes him so unsettling, until Sam Manson gets dragged to a gala in Gotham and immediately clocks him.
Do with this as you will.

I need help finding a tumblr post
Ok, it’s dp x dc
The idea is that Tim and Danny are twins, Tim finds this out from his dad I think.
After Tim falls out with the Batfam, he leaves and I think he gets badly injured. Danny can feel this, and turns Tim into a Halfa to save his life.
Tim gets adopted by the Fenton’s, and Batfam thinks he’s dead because they only found all the blood from the injury, and they think that until they see Tim and Danny together in a cafe of some kind.
Any help is appreciated

Step one of a good evil villain plan is to have information you shouldn't by AceFace98
1 Chapter - 10084 words
The multiverse was usually considered to be more science fiction than reality. The idea that things could be so drastically changed between worlds was simply too existential for most people to conceive.
It didn’t mean it didn’t exist.
In one universe, Tim Drake goes on to become Danny Fenton, or Danny Phantom. In another, he goes on to become Tim Drake-Wayne, or Red Robin.
In this one, someone else gets to him first.

do x dc prompt #64
When Tim Drake-Wayne stepped into that portal in the shut down government lab, he never really thought about dying from electricity would be the way he’d go. It had always seemed like it would be a rogue questing for revenge, or his investigations taking him where he shouldn’t be.
On second thought, it really looks like the second one of the list was coming true.
The last thing that crosses his mind as the agonized screaming(that couldn’t possibly be him, right? he doesn’t feel like screaming any more.(he feels like crying)) ends abruptly is that he really wishes he could have finished a few more mysteries with his family.
And then he woke up.
months later, when Tim starts obsessively digging into investigations with more vigor than he’s ever had, ripping through the pitiful attempts at hiding crimes or evidence, and even going as far as to dragging in the suspected perpetrators for extremely brutal ‘questioning’ even when their committing the crime isn’t certain, or the crime isn’t bad enough to warrant this behavior.
The newfound meta powers he uses to pursue whatever goal he’s aiming for are only the cherry on top of a heaping pile of problems. Tim is practically losing himself in his detective work, and nothing the bats do seems to help.
He’s obsessed.
(or- Halfa!Tim doesn’t have a protection Obsession. instead he’s Obsessed with investigating. And with no way of knowing what to do, all he can do is try and fulfill his Obsession. In any way possible.)

I- I have been informed that I am apparently *the* Halfa Tim Drake AU person?!
When did that happen? The Rebirth of Tim Drake doesn’t have that much traction, does it? Like it’s not that well known-
I made the mistake. Of looking at the analytics for my fics. While writing this post. Rebirth dwarfs my next most popular fic by 10,000 hits. And has like double the kudos too.
I should’ve known something was up when Rebirth got put into, like, 4 different DPxDC fic rec lists posts.
Thanks y’all for enjoying Rebirth, I guess?!?!
I don’t know how I got here.

After Tim starts having them Jason's just gonna start getting vibes from Tim, like spider man's spider sense, like he's picking up something, recognizing something, and he has no clue what it is
Also, he may find Tim really good smelling, or like, he may like being around him more cause he's unconsciously absorbing the ecto eradiating off Tim, as soon as Tim cracks open a can Jason will be there, that thing smells heavenly and he cannot keep this from him, so Tim shows him what he's got and they have some together and jason immediately feels considerably better, kinda, his baby core is so malnourished that actual clean ecto kinda shocks his system, he's awake but he's getting stomach pain and this odd painful stretching feeling in something in him(growing pains from his oversaturated core), his pit madness is incredibly dampened from lack of hunger from his core, it's more the opposite, he feels really physically spent, his core isn't fully developed yet and needs to fortify before he can take in any more ecto, so he's not killing anyone, maybe a few dangerous individuals but he isn't drawn to it, he's even a little averse to it.
And from this Jason was partially benched, doing less hours until he felt better, in this time Tim and Jason become super close, since they're both still infant ghosts they're drawn to groups of other safe ghosts, so they just have this inexplicable urge to hang out, and they have a great time together.
And the longer they hang out the more rough they get with each other, from their ghost instinct to brawl, and Tim and Damian get close to since Tim has a brawling sense now too, the batfam just think Jason has just rubbed off on Tim, Tim also becomes ravenously obsessed with his cases and information gathering, even more than normal, but instead of looking crashed out he looks healthy, what with tim and jason having strange health improvements the batfam stage an interrogation to investigate the source and see if it's anything to worry about
Tim whom is still banned from caffeine went into looking into other ways to get caffeine.
He went into anonymous source from someone name KingTuck4ever who talk about a energy drink that kept him up for weeks during a critical time of his life and Tim was at this point of desperate to spend any time of money he got.
Later that night, he received 6 very large Dark green boxes with a DP logo on it filled with Lightening Green tall soda cans with the name Ecto-Spark!, ingredients tags on the back, made with organic vegan products, DO NOT NEAR MEAT RELATED PRODUCTS, guaranteed to keep you caffeine deprived souls awake and alive enough to enjoy a night afterlife party! Or your money back.
Tim at the point didn't read the back as he pop open the top, smelling a strong scent of caffeine, carbonated bubble and a taste of lemon lime mixed with a tang flavor that had his mouth drowning nearly in drool.
He took only one experimental sip, before his eyes widen instantly and immediately began chugging the soda can for all the liquid caffeine it had inside. This was 1000 times better then Death Coffee Cup from his favorite Cafe that he was still banned from.
It felt like his whole body got electrified with energy and feel like he can run a whole 4 week marathon without breaking a sweat. This drink was like tasting nirvana after a week of being in a Gobi desert for his fucking soul.
.....
.....
.....
Bruce can never know about this. He can't tell anyone about this drink. Not Damian, Not dick, not step, maybe Jason, but Cass can kept a secret since she knew body language. He might possibly go rogue and kill Bruce himself if Bruce tried to take this from him.
Meanwhile Tucker was amazed of the total amount of money he received from the anonymous Caffine obsessed ghost. Usually he ended up receiving old relics, Egyptian related artifacts, gold coins, etc but this is a first he got actually modern day money.
Poor dude must've been recently form a core to spend that much money. Good thing he had send extra since he know how crazy those caffine-obsessed ghosts can be over the new drink he made specifically for himself, Sam and Danny but it's nice to have extra cash for new tech making. Especially since Danny became high king of the ghost zone when he became 20 year old, and the amount of paper works that had been left for dust collecting could filled a planet to the very brim.
Took him, Sam, Danny, Ghost writer and Techno 5 months to fully turn at least 26% of sacrifical gifts from ritual, contracts, conquests, complains from territorial ghosts about humans taking their land/house/property/or about their murder, help hundreds of ghosts stuck in their personal hell of a limbo of their own death, guy name Constantine whom was rapidly becoming a pain in Tucker's ass especially when he got one contract form his former previous life about this guy.

Ghosts of Gotham: Tim Drake is a Halfa
Danny wasn’t exactly sure what he expected when he met Gotham’s infamous vigilantes, but “Red Hood smells like death and swamp water had a baby” definitely wasn’t on the list. The moment he stepped into the room, Danny gagged so hard he nearly fell out of the air.
“Holy Ancients,” he wheezed, covering his nose. “What in the name of all things unholy is that?”
Jason, already not thrilled about the random glowing stranger showing up, tilted his helmeted head. “What’s what?”
“That! You! You smell like—oh, man. I can’t even describe it.” Danny waved his hand in front of his face like it might help. “It’s like if ectoplasm went rancid and then you rolled in it for three days straight. Dude, do you know what’s going on with your ecto-situation?”
Jason took a threatening step forward. “You wanna say that again?”
Danny floated higher, clearly not intimidated. “Oh, I’ll say it again. You stink. And not just like regular stink. Like ghost stink. Like, ‘this is a health code violation, and the Ghost Zone is going to fine you’ stink. How are you even standing there right now? Anyone from Amity Park would be side-eyeing you so hard you’d feel it in your soul—what’s left of it, anyway.”
Jason stared, his body language radiating murderous intent. “You are two seconds away from eating pavement, Casper.”
Danny, unbothered, pointed at his own chest. “Excuse me, Phantom. Casper wishes he could pull this look off.”
“Phantom,” Dick interrupted, trying and failing not to laugh, “maybe we could focus on the introductions first?”
Danny gave Jason one last look of pity and floated down. “Fine, fine. But seriously, Big Red, we’re going to have to talk about that. I’ll fix it later. No need to thank me.”
Jason looked ready to commit murder, but Bruce’s glare cut him off before he could say anything.
Once the chaos settled, introductions were exchanged, and things calmed down—relatively speaking. Danny, as it turned out, was impossible to fully calm down. He buzzed around the room like he had endless energy, chatting and throwing out quips that seemed to simultaneously amuse and irritate everyone.
Then Danny’s gaze landed on Red Robin, and everything shifted.
Danny tilted his head, his glowing green eyes narrowing slightly. For a moment, his usual chaos quieted, curiosity taking over. “Huh,” he said softly, almost to himself.
Tim stiffened, his body going taut as though preparing for impact.
Danny floated closer, peering at him with an unnervingly intense expression. “You’re like me.”
Tim’s heart skipped a beat, and he immediately stepped back, his movements sharp and jerky. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Yes, you do,” Danny said, and his tone was too soft for the others to hear the shift in it. “You’re like me. You’re—”
Tim’s hand twitched at his side, as though debating whether to reach for something or retreat entirely. “Don’t,” he said sharply, his voice low.
Danny blinked, then realization dawned on his face. “Wait… they don’t know, do they?”
“What don’t we know?” Bruce cut in, his voice sharp with suspicion.
Danny ignored him, his gaze locked on Tim. “Oh, man. I’m sorry. I didn’t—”
Tim’s eyes darted toward Danny, his frown deepening as uncertainty clouded his features. He shifted his weight, his fingers twitching at his sides as if fighting the urge to bolt.
He took a step back, then another, his movements slow and almost imperceptible. His breathing quickened, shallow and uneven, as though the air itself had grown heavier. The space around him seemed to shimmer faintly, a distortion that matched the anxiety rippling across his face.
Danny reached out, concern etched in his expression, but Tim flinched. His lips parted as if to say something, but no words came. Instead, the shimmering intensified, and with each passing second, Tim grew more translucent, his form fading like a mirage under the moon.
By the time Danny blinked, Tim was gone, leaving only a faint disturbance in the air where he had been.
The bats froze, their eyes darting around the room.
“What the hell just happened?” Jason demanded, reaching for his guns. “Where’d he go?”
“Did you do something?” Damian snapped at Danny, his hand already on his katana.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa!” Danny held up his hands, his eyes wide with excitement. “Not me! That was all him! Holy Ancients—he can turn invisible?!” A grin split his face as he practically vibrated in place. “This is awesome! Wait—does he shoot ecto-beams too? Or, oh, what if he’s got some crazy transformation I’ve never even seen before? This just keeps getting better!”
Bruce’s expression darkened. “You need to explain. Now.”
Danny sighed, his excitement fading as realization set in. “Okay, but first, I need to go find him. Because if he’s anything like me, he’s probably freaking out right now. So… bye!”
He phased through the floor before anyone could stop him.
———
Danny found Tim perched on the edge of Wayne Industries, staring out at the Gotham skyline. He floated over cautiously, his boots touching down softly on the rooftop.
“Hey,” Danny said, his voice quiet. “Mind if I sit?”
Tim didn’t respond, but he didn’t tell him to leave either, so Danny took that as permission. He sat down cross-legged, giving Tim some space.
They stayed like that for a while, the silence heavy but not unbearable.
Finally, Danny broke it. “Okay, so… not to ruin the moment, but can we talk about how you've had to endure Jason’s ecto-stench this entire time? Because seriously, that’s gotta be a health violation. I mean, I'm half-dead, and even I think it’s concerning. Someone needs to dunk him in a pool of purified ectoplasm or something. I’m gonna file a complaint with—”
Tim laughed. It was soft and brief, but it was real.
Danny grinned, leaning back on his hands. “There it is. I knew you had a laugh in there somewhere.”
Tim sighed, his shoulders loosening slightly. “You’re… a lot,” he admitted.
“I know,” Danny said proudly. “But I grow on people. Like mold. Or fungus.”
Tim huffed another laugh, shaking his head. For a moment, the tension eased, and Danny let the silence settle again before speaking more seriously.
“Look,” Danny said, his voice softer, “I’m sorry I outed you like that. I didn’t know. And if they give you crap about it, I’ll personally make their lives miserable. But… you’re not alone in this, okay? I mean, yeah, it sucks. A lot. But you’ve got me now, because there’s no way we’re not becoming best friends now, and I get it.”
Tim looked at him, his eyes glassy but steady. “Thanks,” he said quietly. He hesitated, his gaze dropping to the floor. “Do you really get it? I mean, you know what it’s like to…” His voice trailed off, thick with hesitation.
Danny tilted his head, his tone softer now. “Yeah. I know what it’s like.”
Tim let out a breath, shaky but determined. “I died.. a few months ago.”
Danny blinked but didn’t say anything, giving Tim space to continue.
“Harley—she caught me. Took me, actually. I was gone for weeks. They—she—handed me over to Joker. It was like a… gift. She thought it’d fix their relationship or something, I don’t know.” Tim’s voice faltered, his gaze flickering to the floor as if the memories were too much to hold. “I held out as long as I could. I kept fighting, kept trying to survive, but…”
He shook his head, his hands clenching into fists at his sides. “Weeks of it. Beatings. Electrocutions. I don’t even remember the exact moment my heart stopped. I just… wasn’t there anymore.”
Danny stayed quiet, his face a mix of empathy and understanding.
“Harley panicked,” Tim continued, his words tumbling out like a confession. “She thought she’d gone too far, that Joker would kill her next. So she tried shocking me back. Guess she half-suceeded? I only came back halfway.” He gestured at himself vaguely, his hands trembling. “I’m not the same. I’m not… whole.”
Danny nodded slowly. "You’re stuck between," he said, offering the words with quiet reassurance.
Tim nodded, biting his lip. “Yeah. Between.” He paused, looking up at Danny. “I haven’t told anyone because… how do you tell them something like that? How do you tell your family you’re not really alive? That their search was all in vain? That I still died, even though they looked so hard for me? I can’t make them think they failed.” His voice wavered. “They were so scared when they found me…”
Danny stayed with him in the silence, his presence a steady comfort.
Tim exhaled slowly, rubbing his face. “I thought I was weak. I thought if I told them what really happened, they’d think I was broken. And I didn’t want to be a burden.” He looked up at Danny. “I’m still not used to this. Not used to being… like this. I don’t even know how to control it—sometimes I phase through walls, other times I get stuck halfway. And the invisibility thing… I can’t even make it work without disappearing when I get too emotional.”
Danny’s gaze softened with understanding as he leaned in slightly, his voice steady but gentle. He hummed thoughtfully, “It’s a lot to handle all at once.”
Tim's shoulders slumped as he leaned closer to Danny, “I’ve been trying to figure out how to control it, but every time I get close, something goes wrong. And I didn’t want anyone to think I was weak or… freakish, so I kept pretending everything was fine. It was easier that way. Easier than explaining… all this.” He exhaled slowly, the exhaustion in his voice evident. “At least it was… until you showed up.”
Danny reached out, resting a hand on Tim’s arm in a quiet gesture of comfort. “I don’t think you’re a freak. You’re just different, like me. But that doesn’t make you broken. You’re still you.” He paused, meeting Tim’s gaze. “I know what it’s like.. to feel different, freakish, the whole nine yards. For what it’s worth? You're handling it a lot better than I did.”
Tim gave him a tight smile, the first real one in a while. “Thanks. It helps. More than you know.”
———
When they returned to the Batcave, Tim sat down with the others, Danny sticking close by his side. Tim took a deep breath and told them everything—about being captured by Harley, the weeks of torture at the Joker’s hands, the electrocutions that had stopped his heart. About how Harley had panicked and shocked him back to life, halfway. How he wasn’t entirely human anymore.
The family listened, their expressions ranging from horror to guilt to anger. Jason looked ready to kill someone, and Bruce’s usually stoic face betrayed a crack of regret. Tim hesitated as he explained why he hadn’t told them sooner, his voice faltering but honest.
Tim’s voice cracked slightly as he spoke, “I didn’t want you to think you failed… that you searched for me for nothing,"
Danny stayed quiet but stayed close, resting a hand on Tim’s shoulder. “For the record,” he said, glaring at the others, “if any of you give him crap about this, you’re gonna have to deal with me. And trust me, I will make your lives miserable.”
Tim gave him a small, grateful smile. For the first time, he didn’t feel quite so alone.

He could already see how that conversation would go over. Danny would go ‘hey, sorry me and my parents killed one of your adopted wards, twas an accident really, some twat of an investor turned on the ecto-collider while he was standing in it and Timothy got fried with enough radiation to mutate a steak back into the cow. Oopsies.’
And then Bruce mcFucking Wayne would throw him in Blackgate for murder before Danny got the chance to explain that hey, no, the guy isn’t dead, the Fentons just accidentally turned another teenager into a half dead abomination yippee. Pack it up cause the government absolutely loved the concept of debating if it was vivisection or dissection when cutting open a halfa. Mr. Wayne was pretty wealthy though so maybe Tim wasn’t gonna have to worry about the finer definitions on vivi vs dissect? Rich people paid off the government all the time, there was a reason why people like Vlad and Lex Luthor got away with so much bullshit.
He prodded the body with a foot. Tim did not so much as twitch.
There was the slow pulse of a core though, slower than the mock heartbeat that Danny’s core liked to hover at, and Tim did appear to be breathing- as much as a half dead person could- so Danny wasn’t too concerned about the unconsciousness quite yet. Once Mom was back with the Ecto-Dejecto then they could stick Tim and he’d be about as right as acid rain. Minus the whole,, traumatizing death and all that.

..Chaos? Yes.
This has been bouncing in my head for a bit, basically crack don't take it too seriously \(๑╹◡╹๑)ノ
OKay!
So POV Outsider, basically of the new dynamic between newly regained memories of Ra's being Vlad, Talia is Ellie, and Tim is Danny.
(This is after the whole Bruce lost in time thing)
Just these 3 having a chaotic but friendly dynamic
(Vlad already had his redemption/healing arc last lifetime)
Like I want a scene of the Bats panicking because Tim went missing under very suspicious circumstances leading them to finding him playing board games with the other two or like a spa day just chilling painting each others nails.
That sort of vibe ya know?
Give me the sheer confusion of the others witnessing the chaos TM
Whether that be the Bats or some other heroes
or even better yet, the LOA assassins watching their leader and daughter act very differently especially around Tim.
basically them: Chaos? Chaos! ✨

The Rebirth of Tim Drake - Ch 1
Tim gets turned into a halfa after an incident with a newly spawned Lazarus Pit, electricity, and Ra's Al Ghul. When he awakens, he finds himself in the Ghost Zone. Taken to fellow Halfa, Danny Fenton, he travels to Amity Park where he learns with the help of Danny and his friends just what he has become. And how being a Halfa has made him one of the most hunted beings in the world.
[Ao3 Link Here]
} ~ – ~ {
Red Robin panted back and knees aching as he crawled through the ventilation. It was big enough for him, thankfully, but he’d been crawling for five minutes now.
Tim thought back to what had gotten him into this position. Batman had received word a week back that a new Lazarus Pit had formed on the surface, and that Ra’s Al Ghul was already attempting to take control to convert it for his uses. They had gathered their intel, figured out the location, before planning an infiltration.
Which led to now. Red looked through a grate, smiling as he finally noticed a surveillance room. Carefully, he pries open the grate, setting it gently off to the side. Peeking his head out, he takes a look around the room. Lucky him, only one security guard was inside.
Carefully, Red slided out feet first first, landing softly on the ground. He snuck up behind the security man at his desk, pulling out a tranquilizer and injecting it into the man’s neck. He backed up, watching the man stumble to his feet before flopping onto the floor like a potato sack. Red Robin wasted no time, dashing forward and turning off the security measures, including the cameras.
He reached up, turning on his comm. “Mission accomplished. Security is offline.” Tim doesn’t wait for the reply as he lifts the man, depositing him in his chair and facing him back toward the computers. He jumped for the vent, pulling himself inside and replacing the vent grate.
He continued crawling along the vent, listening to the messages traversing through the comms.
“Robin, what’s your status on locating Ra’s?” asked Batman.
Even now, Red can’t help but prickle at the name. He wonders if Jason or Dick ever did too, since the name was once theirs.
“Negative. I still haven’t located Grandfather,” replied Damian.
“Everyone keep looking. We find Ra’s, we find the pit so we can close it.”
Gun shots sound, causing Tim to snort. Seems Jason must’ve gotten himself into something.
“Hood! Report!” says Batman.
“I’m fine! Don’t need to get your cape in a twist! No Ra’s here!” replied Hood hurriedly. You could hear the gunshots echo past his voice over the comms.
Tim peered through a vent grate, eyes widening as he saw a green robe. He scoots back out of sight before pressing his comm. “I think I found Ra’s. Sending you my location now.” Tim opens up his wrist computer, typing in his coordinates and sending them to Oracle to distribute.
“Got it. Everyone en route to Red’s location,” says Batman.
Red waited for minutes before hearing the fight break out in the room. He kicks out the grate, dropping into the room and deploying his Bo staff. Immediately he jumps into the fight, taking down people left and right. Tim can hear his family shouting around, though he elects to focus on the fight.
He spots the Lazarus Pit, and after glancing around to see everyone occupied, he vaults over one of the assassins and makes his mad dash for the pit, grabbing the chemical bomb Batman made to close the pit.
“Red Robin!” shouts Nightwing shrilly.
Red whirls around just as Ra’s slices down with his katana. The blade cuts cleanly across Red’s chest, causing him to stumble. Slipping on the edge of the pit, he drops inside, the bomb being thrown from his hand.
Immediately, the wound starts to tingle and Tim’s throat burns from swallowing the lazarus waters. As Tim kicks towards the surface, he can see a light flash above the water. Just as Tim is about to break his hand through, the water turns into fire.
Everything burns! It’s like his very molecules are being torn apart, clawed away by something sharper than the sword that had cut him earlier. It hurts. Tim barely can think to liken it to the tasers before the pain whisks away all thought from his brain.
The world turns numb. Somewhere in the back of his head, Tim knows he’s still in pain. Still being burned and torn alive. But it's as though he is far away from his body. It's almost peaceful.
No. NO. Peace! He’s not supposed to have peace right now! He’s supposed to be fighting. To be making it back to his family. To protect the world from Ra’s Al Ghul and his lazarus pits.
The world snaps back into focus, the pain returning ten fold. Tim struggles against the currents, barely even registering that there shouldn’t be any. He kicks and claws for the surface, desperate to get out, to get back to his family. To get back to his life. But already Tim can see the black crawling across his eyes. And just as Tim feels he’s about to make it, the darkness swallows him whole.
} ~ – ~ {
Tim woke with a groan, rolling onto his side to push himself up. He felt like he had gotten tased with the power of the bat signal. He could feel his body spasming, protesting the act of trying to get up. His head spun violently. Probably would’ve vomited if he had anything in his stomach.
Tim forced his eyes open, looking around at the world. His attention snapped into focus as he realized that he was not in the compound. Beneath his hands, the dirt was an ashy grey. Around him, stood jungle plants in various shades of blue and purple. Looking up led to his eyes widening as he saw a swirling green sky and floating islands.
Tim was pretty sure he wasn’t even on Earth anymore.
“Who are you?” boomed a voice behind him. Tim stumbled to his feet, whirling around.
His jaw dropped as he saw the metal man floating in the air. The man was massive, even bigger than Jason. He had electric green hair and dark eyes. And, as Tim realized, a bazooka aimed right at him.
Tim decided to deal with the fact the man glowed later. He ran, just straight bolted into the forest behind.
“Ah a hunt! I shall catch you quickly, squirt!” shouted the metal man.
Tim ignored him, opting to run. Though, Tim should’ve figured that the guy having been floating showed that was a stupid move. Within seconds, Tim was getting shot at. He stumbled to a stop as he reached a cliff's edge, looking down proving an endless drop.
A shot right at his feet, had other plans for him though.
He fell, closing his eyes shut on instinct. When he didn’t feel the wind whipping past him, indicative of dropping to his death, Tim cracked his eyes open.
They blew wide as he realized was floating, his arms waving around wildly. He flipped over himself, as a result and he looked over at the now upside down metal man looking at him. The man lowered his bazooka, clearly as confused as Tim was.
The man didn’t get a chance to say anything because suddenly Tim was getting bodied, a small green glowing ball of fluff barreling right into him. Tim groaned, as he watched the ball unfold into a puppy.
The puppy tilted his head at Tim before looking over his shoulder. Tim barely had time to react before the floating dog jumped, snatching up his cape and dragging him. Tim tried to yank the cape away, before realizing that he was still in mid air.
His eyes widened as he finally processed another few new details. For one, his cape was white. His gloves too! What?! Tim knew for a fact he was in his Red Robin suit before he passed out. But he had absolutely no white.
An eager, but muffled bark called Tim to look away, eyes widened as he got slammed into a snowbank by the bounding dog. And once more, Tim was swallowed up in black.

Superboy Prime punched through the multiverse. This, of course, defeated the enemy he was fighting that was trying to destroy the world, but multidimensional punches dont just affect the mortal plane.
The ghost zone, the infinite realms, felt the punch like a nuclear blast. Haunts destroyed, ghosts displaced through time and space. It was chaos.
Whats worse? Danny's friend is missing.
Danny had met Robin in the GZ during one of his adventures, the two dead teen vigilantes took to each other like ducks to water. Danny helped Robin learn about being a ghost and Robin taught Danny life skills such as: throwing a punch, lockpicking, and how not to fall for obvious traps that villians set up.
Even Sam and Tucker had met Robin, although since Robin was such a new ghost he wasnt strong enough to leave the zone for long. Young ghosts (halfas aside) needed to spend the first decade or two in the zone before they were stable enough to go back to the mortal side. Danny had offered to fly to gotham with a message for batman, but robin had declined.
Batman and he had had a fight before he died, the guy probably didnt want to see or hear about the robin that failed after all.
Robin had forbidden Danny and the others from looking into Gotham.
Danny would not be in Gotham if his friend hadn't disappeared after the sonic attack that had rocked the ghost zone. He had no idea who Robin had been under the mask. Even in death, his friend had not shared his secret identity. But Danny needed to find his friend before he destabilized into ectoplasmic goop.
So now Danny has to find Batman, convince the guy that ghosts are real and that his adopted son Robin is a ghost. He manages to find the bat signal on top of the GCPD and hails the hero.
Who has a new robin with him.
It hadnt even been a year!!! Batman had replaced his friend with a younger model, this one was wearing pants instead of shorts!! What the hell!!!
Danny is so offended that if he didn't need Batman's help to save Robin, he would so punch the guy in the face. Multiple times.
Danny explains the problem to Batman and FAKE Robin all while keeping his cool.
"His ghost probably ended up near his grave. Just get me to the cemetery, if he's there, i can find him and save him before he fades forever."
Batman agrees.
Internally, Bruce is bluescreening. His mind is just thinking: Jason. Jason. Jason. Jason! Over and over again. He needed to get to his son. Right now.
Tim wasn't expecting his first mission as Robin to go like this, he had just finished his training, but nothing he had trained for prepared him for a ghost that told him that he met Jason while fighting a magic ghost dragon.
When all three get to the cemetary, they find Jason Todd's grave empty. A hole in the grass, just wide enough for a person to crawl through. The casket has a hole punched through it. Parts of the suit Jason was buried in were torn off and caught on splinters of the wood.
"I am gonna be honest. I did not know zombies were a thing." said the ghost.
With that, all hell breaks loose in Gotham.

A family visit
Alfred has been granted (Force) by the bats a week off, and whatever way would he do in a week?, visit his Father of course!
Alfred didn't really have a word into this, he only just been given (forced) a week off, he reason with the family ( it always works) but to his surprised! None of it came through there heads! ( Somehow they got lucky from Alfred's reasonable scolding)
What about the manor? Who would care of it? Who would assist? What will happen if-
How many times he reason and tried to budge it in there minds, none of it work?
Alfred is in horror, so the only thing he can only do is accept, remind them what's not do and do, (every single details) or atleast the common things to do, which he thinks they can handle it- if not, if he sees the house in shambles or in the news, he can now have a reason to not always take a weeks off.
In Alfred's room, he was packing some pairs of clothes, a coat, a medical kit, pairs of shoes, a book, his dark shawl that is covered with a lots of constellation's from his papa's gifts, (he always take good care of it when he left on his own, he couldn't leave his shawl even in the time of his work,) and whatever he needs.
He decided to visit and have his week's off to his papa's, it's been quite a long time ( maybe 60 years or so-)
It's not like he was an absent son, he was just busy, he would occasionally send letters or his baked cookie's ( he's own recipe but still came from papa's original treats).
The Batfam does know Alfred had a dad who's still alive?( Which the kids would joke about how his dad is immortal) outside his life here in Gotham as the only staff in the Wayne manor.
While they were chilling in the living room, they could see Alfred heading towards the door, before he stop and took out a letter, and as he did a ring in the bell could be heard, Alfred open the door, and greeted..
The mailman? ( A very hardworking ghost mailman, just saying “Jolly ho!- how may I help send! Deliver, or even package international!” which Alfred replying “International please, for in this ### #### ## address, I need it quickly delivered through his doorsteps” then the Mailman just nodded, Alfred payed him and he just disappeared)
And Alfred sighs in relief and went to get his luggage, and bid the Batfam goodbye without even explaining what was happening (Bruce dropped his newspaper)
They might had ideas Alfred wasn't human or normal, but after that bombshell, they just can't stop the urge to find out ( like the usual thing the Batfam does, but only minimal like just knowing where he went and they wanted to have Alfred privacy)
Alfred was on his way to his papa's home very much missing the feeling of home in Britain now it's been quite a long time almost but he's getting second thoughts, what would his papa think?
( and yes, hes dad was wealthy, and through family too, He lived in a manor too,
which was a very old money manor, cause Danny? he's literally the ghost king)
Alfred decided he got this, so he took a step and took a deep breath In the front door of the home he loved and cared for in his childhood, knocking three times and the only thing he imagined is that his papa would give him a big warm hug like old times when Alfred would visit once a while before he truly left home.
The bats were in disguise, well partially disguise, the british neighbors nearby can see them looking at them like there were weird (stalking is not a healthy way...sometimes) And how can they even see them?! There literally in a camouflage!!
They saw how Alfred took a step, and knock three times...the door open and there they saw- a kid? Wait what? The black haired and blue teenager might be 16 who looks like could be adoption bait look surprised and happy and he give Alfred a hug, and Alfie just return the gesture, they were having a conversation, they couldn't here it because they were out of range and no hearing gadgets ( damn it Bruce)
Then Alfred and the teen went back to the house, and the door could only shut blocking there view of Alfred and the teen.
