Finally, you returned to Auradon-and you had returned dating Harry Hook. The ship pulled into port, you and Harry holding hands with Uma and Gil on either side-CJ yelling up to her big brother with the smee twins at her sides-Harriet behind them looking down at her phone.
Harry grinned at seeing his family, curling his arm around your waist and leading you towards the exit landing, suitcases in hand as you stepped off the ship. “Harry~!” CJ cheered, throwing her hands into the hair as she bolted towards him, the smee twins close behind. “how was it? Did ja’ have fun? Blow anything up?”
Harry chuckled, setting CJ on her feet, as she had jumped into his arms, and shaking his head. “it was amazing, yes it was fun, and no-I’m not ye.” CJ pouted, since apparently if you didn’t blow something up-you didn’t have fun. Her eyes drew to you, and they widened at the sight of Harry’s arm around your waist. “Dude-did you get a girlfriend?”
Cj squeaked, pointing right at you, her eyes alight with mischief. Harry snorted while you felt your face flush, feeling Harry pull you closer to his side. “Aye,” he rasped, turning to you with those pretty eyes of his. You puffed your cheeks at him slightly, knowing he was enjoying your flustered state in front of his sisters. “This is (y/n), we met due to a certain….incident” Harry paused, his eyes dilating for a moment as he stared at you-and you knew he was remembering that first night.
You just huffed, smacking his chest gently. “We bumped into each other during the first week and hit it off, he decided he liked me and asked me out-now we’re dating.” Harry just grinned, chuckling as you smacked his chest again. CJ narrowed her eyes at the both of you, knowing there was more to the story but she had a feeling she wouldn’t be able to dig it out of her big brother.
“Okay then,” she snorted, grabbing your hand and dragging you away from Harry-who gave a sound of annoyance as CJ pulled you towards Harriet. "Welcome to the hook fam (y/n)! we're all insane and pyromaniacs~" Harriet bopped CJ on the head as the two of you reached her, prying CJ’s grip from your arm.
“Tha’ts jus’ you CJ, Harry and I don’t blow shit up jus’ by lookin’ at em” Harriet sighed, and you could spot the same scales that Harry had on her upper cheeks, the sun hitting them just right. So both she and Harry were half-mers then, cool. “I’m Harriet,” you took her outstretched hand and she pulled you just closer, her bright blue eyes staring into yours-her pupil sharpening a bit. “jus’ a small warnin’ lass, ye hurt Harry-ye won’t live to tha’ next day. Got it?”
You just nodded; you had no plans to hurt him. “Good.” Harriet murmured, a small smirk growing on her face. Harry stepped up behind you and sighed, rolling his eyes fondly “Was she threatin’ yeh?” Harry asked, curling his arms around your shoulders and pulling you into his chest, his smirk against your cheek. You nodded, turning your head to whisper in his ear. “I don’t think she has to worry though; I have no plans of hurting what’s mine.”
Harry giggled, his cheeks turning pink as Harriet rolled her eyes, turning on her heel to head towards the parking lot. “Come’ on ye runts, let’s get ye back to the school, classes start back up tomorrow.” Harry groaned at the thought of going back to class but followed, his hand finding yours and rubbing his thumb against the top of your hand.
-
In the weeks following the cruise, things went back to normal-well, as normal as they were but now you were dating the ‘hottest’ dude in school. You could tell many were jealous of you, but many found it in themselves to not jeer at you or be mean. All except one. Nyx. You could tell she had it out for you. Many times you found your things missing before class, your locker was broken into, personal items missing, one time your meal ticket was stolen and Harry had offered to share his tray; but thanks to Mrs. Potts being so nice-you were given a new ticket the next day and free meals for the day you didn’t have one.
Harry was getting increasingly frustrated for you, knowing the only reason you were getting bullied was because of him. He desperately wanted to know who was targeting you, he had many suspects but he had been unable to pinpoint exactly who it was just yet.
Harry sighed, it was about a month after the cruise, classes were done for the day and the weekend had arrived. He glanced around for you, knowing you were getting changed after finishing up swim club with Uma. He needed to find out who was fucking around, it was unfair to you; just because he liked you and chose you-didn’t mean you deserved anything horrid.
He glanced behind him, seeing Nyx staring back, her eyes hooded and dark, she licked her lips when she caught his eyes and he quickly turned away-shivers of queasiness running up his spine. Fuck he really didn’t like being in the same space as her; he had a strong feeling she was behind your bullying encounters, but he didn’t have any proof.
Harry felt another shiver go down his spine-this one pleasant and grabbing his attention. He turned, beaming as he saw you and Uma step into the hall, your hair still a bit wet from the club and your cheek scales shimmering in the fluorescent light of the hall. He stood from his spot on the bench, running over to you and grabbing you in a hug, muttering your name into your shoulder as you laughed; Uma teasing him as she went to get her dinner.
“I missed yeh,” Harry mumbled as he set you down, following you towards the line for dinner. You rolled your eyes fondly; he was such a dork. “You saw me two hours ago during history, Harry.” You hummed, taking his hand and giggling as he pouted. “Two hours too long,” he muttered back, smiling as you leaned up and pecked his cheek.
“Dork,” you mumbled against his skin, skipping into the line as Harry went back to the table he picked out, finally starting to eat his food as he waited for you and Uma, Gil was two tables over with Jay, Jane, and Carlos; leaving Harry alone with the girls. Harry grabbed his soda and took a sip-momentarily distracted as he watched you walk over to the table and sat down next to him-swallowing the fizzy drink without tasting it as he swung his leg over to straddle the bench to face you as you laughed at his actions.
It was his first relationship-so you had expected him to be eager, but this was all too damn cute coming from the hard-headed pirate. You said as such and Harry turned pink, pouting at you while you giggled behind your hand. Harry’s hand found your thigh and he grinned, squeezing it slightly as you gasped, glaring at him slightly as his hand gently traced up on your leg, his fingers towards your waist.
“Cute eh?” he mumbled, eyes going to your lips, a smirk on his. You grabbed his hand, narrowing your eyes at him playfully as he chuckled, he leaned close to you, his breath against your skin “I was thinkin’ you, me? At the lake tonight?” You hummed in agreement, a smile on your lips. Harry had been wanting to have a date at the nearby lake, not the enchanted lake that was too far to go out to even for a weekend. But it was a quant lake that had a few hidden caverns deep within the water, one you frequently went to when you needed a break.
You nodded, giggling as you felt Harry’s lips against yours in a quick kiss, he almost looked giddy with the idea of a date-you hadn't been able to go on a proper one since Puerto Rico-speaking of which; Harry always carried around his new knife and you were nearly always wearing the jewelry he had gifted you, the obsidian rock always sitting in your pocket.
“Great, meet me there at one am,” Harry continued to whisper and you giggled, curfew was relaxed on the weekends, but there were still enchanted knights and supervisors wandering the halls looking for anyone up and around past curfew. So you were going to have to sneak past everyone to make it to the lake to meet harry.
Luckily for you, your dorm faced the path towards the lake-so you could just slip out your window, meanwhile, Harry would have to go all sneaky-like. You glanced to the side as you felt eyes burning into your head, seeing Nyx glaring at you. You just looked away, not caring about her.
-
Nyx smiled from across the hall, seeing Harry continuing to drink his soda. While he had gotten up to greet you and Uma, she had slipped his half of the potion into his drink; which she had remade to be tasteless, and much more potent. With the two of you so far apart, thanks to the dorm building, this time-this time; She would be in his way, and he would finally be hers.
-
Harry clenched his teeth as he felt that now familiar heat bubble and course beneath his skin, sweat dripping down his face as he panted. “Fuck,” he whispered, gasping in pain as a cramp rushed through his body. shit-shit shit shit-and here he thought he was finally safe from that damned drug and whoever was drugging him.
But here he was, just minutes before 1 am, horny as all hell with no way to help himself. Thank the gods he had asked you out on a date. But he had to get there first, and he was still in his room, his swim shorts painfully tight and aches rushing through his body.
“Fuck.” Harry hissed out, curling in on himself as a wave of intense arousal hit his core, panting as drool dripped down his chin. He could smell you, his eyes drawn to your scrunchie that rested on his nightstand. He swallowed hard-your faint scent making him ache for you, his cock twitching beneath his swim trunks.
He scrambled for his phone, doing his best to text you what was going on, but he couldn’t get his fingers to cooperate, so he settled for calling you. “Lass?” he rasped out, gasping as another cramp ran up his spine, he nearly collapsed on his bed, your voice on the other side of the call calming the heat for only a moment. “It happened-fuck-again, i-i-I don’t fuuummm.” His eyes nearly rolled back and his knees hit the floor as a strong pulse ran from his cock up to his chest, blurring his mind. “H-help.”
You nearly panicked from the other end of the call, glancing back towards the path that led towards the dorm building. You were already in the lake-transformed into your mermaid form. “Can-can you walk at all?” you asked, biting your lip as Harry just let out a groan, which considering the circumstances, sent a shiver down your spine. Fuck-why did he sound so goddamn hot?
“no-no, it-fuck it hurts lass, like tha’ first night.” You cursed under your breath, tapping your fingers against your mouth as you thought about what to do. You could either go back to the dorms and sneak through the halls and possibly get caught trying to help him. or….or-OR! “I’m going to text Uma, she can teleport you here, okay?” Harry just groaned again, a near whimper coming from his throat. You swallowed, quickly hanging up and texting Uma, and no more than a minute later-something(someone) landed in front of you.
You looked up, seeing Harry kneeling before you, his eyes nearly violet as he panted, his body bare other than the jacket he wore and his swim trunks. “lass-“ he breathed, collapsing into you as you pulled yourself up and kissed him, curling your arms around his neck and tugging him into the lake-the cool waters nearly shocking his system but thanks to his half-Mer biology, he adjusted quickly and wrapped his arms around you, your scales pressing against his skin.
He whispered your name into your mouth, his cheeks bright red as you got to work pushing down his trunks, your hands finding his dick. “(y/n),” he whined, biting his lip and burying his face in your neck as you began to stroke him, the cool water with your hand feeling quite odd-but good. “shit-“ your mouth found his jaw, nipping and sucking at the skin as he shivered under your touch, melting into you as his eyes wandered-finding the black dress you had worn before getting in the water.
Fuck you probably looked so damn hot in that, those sheer long sleeves that were sparkling like stars probably looked amazing on you-he would have to ask you to wear it again-he was ripped from his thoughts as you dipped below the water, your warm mouth wrapping around his dick and your tongue pressing against the bottom. “FUCK!” Harry yelped, his head falling back as he trembled in the water, the cool liquid keeping his body comfortable from that boiling heat.
“oh-oh gods-“ he whimpered out your name, his cheeks bright red as he braced himself against the shore, his breath turning to steam as it met the cool air. You looked up at him through the water, putting your hands on his thighs as you pulled nearly off his dick and swirled your tongue along the tip, smiling as he shook at the feeling, your name coming from his lips again.
“(y/n)-fuck-I’m!” Harry gasped and shuddered, his hands finding your hair and curling his fingers into it, gasping as his back arched and he came. Once again it was an inhuman amount, but now you wondered if It was due to his half-Mer biology instead of the drug.
You swallowed most of it, keeping what you couldn’t in your mouth as you slowly breached the surface, giggling at Harry’s face as he panted, his eyes flickering between ocean blue and violet, locked onto you and dilated. “fuck, yer so fukin’ amazin’ love.” Harry groaned, grabbing your face and you just swallowed the last of his cum as his lips met yours, he tasted himself on you as he wrapped his arms around you, feeling himself ache and shudder as your hand found his cock and led it to a slit that sat around your tails crotch area.
Harry moaned as you took his hips and pushed him inside you, his skin meeting your scales and your hands found his cheeks, thumbs rubbing against the shimmering opal scales. Harry kept letting out sweet little sighs and gasps as you guided his hips, and you slowly pulled the two of you beneath the water, Harry’s gills opening up as your lips met again.
Harry snatched your hands and put them around his neck as something snapped inside him, a low purring growl erupting from his throat, his eyes flashing violet as he began to thrust wildly inside you, reminding you of that first night as he fucked you hard and well.
“fuck-ye feel so fukin’ good, so fuckin’ perfect-“ Harry gasped into your ear, his arms around your waist as his hips snapped into you. You could hardly hold onto him, this was different than the last two times-it felt-so fucking good-sparks of lightning traveling through your skin each time he moved, the mark on your neck tingling every time his chin brushed against it.
You realized-this was the first time you have had sex since the night you became bonded mates-so now everything was elevated to heights you couldn’t even imagine. You moaned out his name, feeling that familiar coil in your gut and sparks running up from the edge of your tail.
Your lips met again, your hands tangling in his hair as you felt that coil snap, fireworks traveling your skin as Harry groaned into your mouth, his hips stuttering as he came. You felt him fill you up, panting as he pulled out, his brows furrowing as he watched the slit close and keep his cum inside you. “mermaid biology’s weird” you giggled to him, and he laughed, taking your lips again taking you above the water, lifting you out and bracing you against the stone gazebo.
You let your tail split into legs, shuddering as Harry’s cum spilled out of you and pooled at your ass. “fuck,” Harry muttered, taking his hands and spreading your legs-getting a good look at your leaking cunt. “gods how lucky I am ta’ have ye,” You gasped as he slid back inside you, just as hard as he was when you had started. Your legs wrapped around his waist and arms around his neck-holding him close as snapped his hips against your thighs, gasping and crying out each time he hit that sweet spot inside you.
“Harry-fuck-ah!”
Just like that night he had a double dose back on the ship-Harry fucked you through several orgasms of his own, pushing you through your overstimulation and bringing you to new heights, your senses heightened and pleasure heightened thanks to your bond. By 2 am; you were exhausted, tingly, full of Harry, and sweaty. The bite on your neck tingled as Harry’s breath ghosted across it as he rested his head on your shoulder, still inside you as you both came down from your final highs.
“Damn,” Harry breathed, slowly sitting up and pulling out, huffing in exhausted arousal as he watched his cum pour out of you. “I didn’t even taste anythin’ in any of me drinks today…maybe they’re getting’ smarter?” Harry asked, not really expecting an answer but simply ranting, taking your overheated body and bringing you into the water, your heads dipping below the cool surface as your legs turned back into a tail.
You turned to face him, admiring his opal scales that glimmered under the moonlight that broke through the surface of the water, his eyes enchanting as ever as they returned to their natural ocean blue. “how do you feel about going to Neverland for your birthday?” you asked quietly against his lips, and his body froze, staring into your eyes. His face crumbled into unbelieving great fullness and he nodded, bringing you into the strongest hug you had ever felt.
You hummed into him, cuddling into his shoulder and wrapping your tail around his legs, your thumbs rubbing his scales as he whispered many ‘thank you’s into your ear.
-
“They-they fucking bonded him?” Nyx whispered to herself in pure outrage and disbelief, her eyes on the healed bite mark on Harry’s inner neck that mirrored the one on the boyfriend stealer. The fish bitch had actually bonded her fucking man-they had fully stolen Harry Hook from Nyx. “I’m going to fucking kill her,” Nyx hissed, forcing herself to leave as her ears began to burn hearing the mermaid's name from Harry’s lips.
This had gone on long enough-she was going to reclaim what was hers.
And if she couldn’t get rid of you? And free harry from whatever spell you had put him under-she would make sure no one could have him.
-end of p6-
P6 P6~ and Nyx is getting some-nasty-ideas, almost as nasty as her drugging harry in an attempt to rape him and impregnate herself through doing so~ :D yeah shes lil(very) fucked up. Uhhhhh idk when the next update is but yeah~!

had a very sleepless night last night due to hurricane helene (only a tropical storm when it reached us, thankfully) so of course what else was my brain to do but wander into semi-nonsense territory.
or: zuko dies when his ship blows up, but La takes mercy on him. local firebender wakes up as a merman. what the fuck.
everyone thinks he's dead. he can't leave the water because he has a whole entire fish tail where his legs used to be. he has no idea what to do with himself because suddenly his only goal in life has been taken away from him. he's stubborn as hell, but even he has to admit that he can't... really capture the Avatar in this state, and it's even more unlikely that if he somehow managed, his father would restore his honor. when he's half fish. what the fuck.
zuko cuts his hair, salvages his belongings from his ship and hides them in this underwater cave he found. spends a lot of time hanging out underneath docks and lapping up gossip. trying to figure out how this whole merman thing works. follows gossip and rumors about the Avatar anyways, because what else is he supposed to do with himself?
ends up in the north pole. he's still a firebender, which feels like a dumb joke but at least it keeps him warm. ends up befriending princess yue (iroh joined the avatar and saved the moon spirit). learns his sister was defeated at ba sing se. learned his father was defeated during the eclipse. his uncle became fire lord.
becomes a cryptid. keeps accidentally befriending small children. saves a few people? people think he's some kind of ocean spirit. he's offended but maybe they're right. gets used to subsisting on a diet of raw fish (except when yue sneaks him some smoked fish). and then, to add insult to injury...
...the Avatar starts looking for him.
(Aang has heard stories about a humanoid ocean spirit. They seem friendly! They've even saved a few sailors. Trying to track them down seems like a great way to not have to think about Ozai's impending execution. He spared his life, but it didn't even matter in the end.)

viking!b.katsuki x fem!reader
a.n; i wanted to give viking!bakugou a try, and honestly, this is all @imaginationmess fault for feeding me fanarts of bakugou and his dragon🙃 luv you tho🤍
Tumblr media
Viking Bakugou Katsuki who rides the biggest and most terrifying dragon that has ever existed.
A legend said that his dragon in particular had been going on for generations in his family, no one willing to risk their life to tame it. Until Katsuki’s uncle, Bakugou Kudo, did it. He had been the first in generations to ride this dragon. Yet he understood that the bond between dragon and riders was not consolidated between them.
When Katsuki was eight, the little shit escaped the hut and went towards where the nests were. Kudo almost had a heart attack when he saw the brat far off and almost there. He sprinted as fast as he could, a tragedy already displaying in his head –the kid being incinerated, turned to ashes, and his sister cutting his dick off for being a sorry ass uncle. Fuck, and he would had deserved it. Because even though he had tamed the beast, it was still very unstable to let anyone close to it; one of his own men had suffered the consequences of trying to get close, more than half his body had been burned. He was no longer part of their battles.
However, Kudo saw in first person how a dragon’s bond was created. Between his terrifying dragon and his little nephew.
It hadn’t looked much from his perspective, yet he felt the magical aura surrounding them. Katsuki laughed as he touched the dragon’s snot like it was a mer pup, happy and excited while climbing its leg with such ease until he was up on its back, right behind the head. The dragon himself helped the kid to reach the place. Kudo noticed then the beast’s eyes shining a very resplendent gold. Yep, that was definitely a bond. The kid was anything but scared, as he caressed the dragon's head, hugging it even.
Kudo smiled, shaking his head, hands over his hips as he took a deep breath, relaxing. The dragon was only letting him ride it because it knew that Katsuki was his bonded rider and Kudo was related by blood to the kid.
As years went by, the bond only became stronger and deeper. Kudo would ride it in battles, but once at home, the brat and the beast were like one. When Katsuki turned eighteen, Kudo retired from battles and settled down with a wife and kids at the village located next to that of where their family originally came from. From that day on, the brat became the dragon’s one and only owner.
Katsuki was the only human being able to control, care for and command this massive dragon, also becoming the nightmare of most villages in the world. Both, dragon and rider were vicious, deadly and feared.
You still remember the day Bakugou Katsuki landed on your lands. The bright blue sky suddenly turned dark, the huge dragon he rode clouding the sun above. Everyone knew what it meant. Destruction and chaos, the end of their peaceful lives.
The Leader of the village, your dad, didn’t waste time in trying to negotiate a truce between them.
And that truce is you.
You are forced to marry him, to leave your family, friends and life there and go with this barbaric man. You are a bit afraid he is some sort of savage. Rumors told how violent he was, how scary he looked with his scars and aggressive attitude towards everyone. Now that you have said man in front of you, you agreed with all of them.
You were expecting him to manhandle you, to treat you like another woman he picked to use for his own pleasure. Yet all you received since you stepped foot in his village, in his home, had been nothing but coldness and distance. He has kept to himself, doing his stuff and trying not to get in your way. Least to say, it has been completely awkward since the ceremony.
When you are getting ready for it, his mom enters his-your hut. She smiles, a sincere feeling in her eyes, “Being the daughter of a Leader sucks, ain’t it?”
You look down, a slight smile on your face that agrees with her but eyes filled with tears you’re holding back. “It does.”
You feel her hand on your shoulder, and the little squish she gives it in reassurance makes the knot in your throat tighter.
“My son is not a charming prince; however, I know the kind of man I raised him to be. You’re gonna be okay.”
You don’t say anything in response. You don’t even look back at her, but you think she didn’t expect it either as she walks out, leaving you alone. As you walk towards the entrance, fully knowing that once you cross it, your soon to be husband will be waiting at the end of the aisle, all you can wish is that Ms. Bakugou is right.
When the ceremony reaches its end, the old lady of his village drawing the symbols of union, love and family in your foreheads, Bakugou extends his hands for you to lay yours over his. You still haven’t looked him in the eyes, but you do what's expected for the ceremony. When your hands touch the skin of his, you can't avoid thinking how warm they feel. Big calloused, rough and strong hands surround yours, and you don't hate the feeling. On the contrary, it’s quite comforting. The old lady ties a beautifully white and gold silk ribbon around your hands, symbolizing the union of the souls.
While everyone cheers, you finally decide to raise your eyes towards him. Deep red eyes collide with yours, making a shudder run your body at their intensity. Surprisingly, it isn’t a bad feeling, but it is something you have never felt before.
A tingly feeling swirls in your stomach as you realize Bakugou Katsuki's face is getting closer and closer to yours, his intent clear. He is going to kiss you. Your first kiss. You close your eyes instinctively and his lips touch yours in a quick and short peck. Yet it feels like all the tingles in your stomach exploded, sending warmth throughout your whole body.
That has been the only close and physical interaction you have had until today.
Bakugou Katsuki decides to give you space to accommodate and get to know his village and people around.
It doesn't mean he doesn't want you. However, he never makes any sort of move towards you.
Until one day…
Bakugou got back that morning to the village after being away for almost four days with the victory of conquering another village, so you decide to bring him some of the sweet bread you have cooked as a welcome back. You have to admit, this time with him since the marriage ceremony hasn’t been bad. Civil, even. Despite his distance and cold attitude, he has never disrespected or forced you to nothing. Not even that first night as husband and wife. He didn’t even try, he simply picked one of the pillows and clothes to make a bed on the floor, closer to the entrance door, and slept there. You have been very confused. Your mum had previously told you everything of what was expected from a woman on the night of the ceremony. You expected even a fight between you two, because of course you didn’t want that to happen with a complete stranger like he was still to you.
Nevertheless, he never hovers over you. But you do feel his eyes on you whenever he’s around. He always makes some sort of sound for you to acknowledge that his presence is close. Katsuki is attentive to your reactions whenever you are both alone and doesn't even raise his voice at you. Ever.
Then again, he is his ruthless self with everyone else.
You tried looking for him around the village, but couldn't find Bakugou anywhere. So you walk towards the woods where you know the dragon's nests are, where they rest. Even though Bakugou has explicitly forbidden you to go near there, due to the danger their dragons were most of the time, even for the riders.
You are confident Katsuki will be there, so probably he will see you from a distance and you wont need to get that close. But when you arrive, you come face to face with the massive beast: Bakugou's dragon, Cweorth.
You have seen it at a distance, but having the beast up close is a completely different experience. Its whole body is red, with golden piercing eyes that feel very much like Bakugou’s itself. Its wings are huge as they spread in a stretching movement up high, almost taller than the big trees that surround the woods. You can even see some flare of gold in its scale that actually looks mesmerizing. Majestic.
Your basket falls to the floor in shock when the beast finally looks down at your small, minuscule being. It watches you intently, with a scowl on its face –like beast, like owner. But far away from feeling scared by it, you feel intrigued. You feel enamored even as you stand there, looking at such majestic creature.
Bakugou is actually several meters away, taking a bath in the lake close to the nests, cleaning all the blood and dirt off his body before going to the hut he shares with you. He has some scratches and cuts from the fights, but nothing deep or worrisome. He is very proud in saying he is the fucking best out there.
When he's walking through the woods back to the nests of their dragons, he sees it.
His whole body freezes. You are standing there, your arm and hand stretched upwards. His own dragon, the one who eats men like candy at Katsuki's own command, the one who has burned villages in seconds with his strong fire, the one who hates anyone’s touch or closeness that isn't Bakugou himself... His dragon has his snot close to you, letting you pet him with its eyes closed, enjoying your affection like a small puppy dog.
And he can not fucking believe what his eyes are seeing.
Of all the women he has had before you, none were brave enough to even look at the beast. They had all been afraid to death.
And there you stand, looking even fascinated by it. Eyes shining and smiling as you feel for the first time what its skin is like under your touch. You look… beautiful. Gorgeous. Heavenly sent. Fuck. You have him in your hands already.
Bakugou Katsuki then decides:
He will fucking kiss the ground you walk. He will give you everything you ask of him.
You want certain clothes to wear? He will search for them for you. You want certain foods? He will fly his dragon to wherever they are made or grown on. You want a land? He will fucking burn every single thing or life it takes to give it to you.
You want him? He will gladly give himself completely to you.
Well, he already is.

Yandere merman x reader x best friend
Tumblr media
———————————————————————
Imagine a darling finding out she’s half-mermaid.
She lives in a small fishing village way out in he country. It’s the kind of town no one ever leaves. You’re born, grow up, and die there. Whole generations of families have lived there since long before.
Her parents are normal folks; father’s sailor and mother’s a stay-at-home wife. But since darlings family is so much like others’, she doesn’t understand why she’s so different. Her mother often jokes about how her first word was ‘sea’ and how she’d find her standing in her crib, staring out the window at the waves crashing into the cliffs.
Darling has been in a constant battle with herself her whole life. Since as long as she can remember she’s had a gripping fascination with the ocean. She can’t help it! Every night when everyone else laid sound-asleep in their beds, did she lie awake and fantasize about sneaking out and disappearing under the dark waves. No matter how hard she tried shutting these thoughts away, they always came back to haunt her.
While her mother thought is was cute and not a problem, it couldn’t be anything more. Her mother didn’t understand- as sweeet as she was. It probably stemmed from her being too busy with darlings younger siblings and doing chores, that she didn’t think of how the village spoke of her daughter. They call her strange and speak of what a waste of beauty on someone like her; she’s no good and you can’t marry her. Her mother didn’t know about how the rest of the kids teased darling. They pulled her her and pushed he on the ground. It wasn’t an unusual occurrence for her to find her school books wet with sea water, since she ‘likes it so much’. The teachers didn’t care either.
The only solace darling can find is in her best friend. He always defended her agaisnt her bullies- which was practically everyone- and stayed by her side, even when he could become affected too. Darling feels he’s too good to her. The times she felt so alone, he was there to comfort her when her confidence was at its lowest. He held her when she cried and patted her back, whispering into her ear about how sweet and beautiful she is.
Then, by chance one day, she meets a merman. She is surprised- merfolk only exists in stories after all! The merman is so inhumanly beautiful. With long hair cascading down his back and a long fish tail. His tail looked very strong, he was no doubt an excellent swimmer. At first she is scared of him, she runs away-ignoring his shouts for her to come back- and keeps to herself in her room. Her family is worried and wonders if something is wrong, but she tells them it’s nothing and that she’s just a little tired. In her room, darling thinks about the merman. How is it possible for him to exist? Was she hallucinating and perhaps he wasn’t real? Are there other mythological creatures out there? After overcoming her initial fear and hesitance, she decides to go back to the beach.
The merman was still there. She dares ask how he can talk and he responds with, “My people don’t speak the way you do, but I have taught myself the language of humans. That’s how I am communicating with you.”
She asks him more questions, all of which he answers truthfully. Or, well, she hoped he wasn’t trying to deceive her. Darling even gained the courage of asking whether the stories of merfolk feastin on human flesh is true, and when the merman confirms it’s indeed true, she backs up. When he notices her alarmed state, he hurriedly add that he would never eat her.
It’s then he hits her with the most shocking reveal of her life. Apparently, he senses mer- blood in her vains.
“….n-no, that can’t be. You must be sensing wrong- I’m human..!”
He sighs. “Merfolk are very intuitive. We always recognise our own kind.”
He reveals that he suspect her of being half- merfolk since the scent of mer is strong on her. Darling thinks it’s laughable, both her parents are perfectly human. It can’t be. Like, she’d notice if one of her parents was a mythological creature with a fish tail as a lower half.
The merman tells her of old stories among his people, of mers who reproduced with humans- whether its be willingly or the human had kidnapped them. The children would always be different. On the surface they appeared like any other human, but on the inside there would constantly be a longing to return to their orgins- the ocean. Darling is conflicted. On one hand she can’t believe what she’s hearing, however, the description of the half- bloods fit her too well.
That night she confronts her father while he’s getting off work. He breaks instantly. She is shocked to discover that her father had an affair with a mermaid whilst being married to her mother. He had discovered her while fishing in an unpopular area and took her with him. He sobs that he couldn’t help it, the mermaid was so enchanting he couldn’t control himself. When the mermaid fell pregnant, he was so scared of what his wife would say when she found out, but when the child came out human, he was puzzled but relieved at the same time. He brought the baby home and played it off as finding it abondoned by the docks.
Darling can’t believe it. Her father was practically a monster. She recalled the tales of kidnapped merfolk held against their will, by the merman. She couldn’t imagine what her birth mother must’ve gone through. Her father begs her not to tell her mother because it would destroy the happy family they’d built.
In the end, she chooses to keep the secret for the time being. The right thing was to tell her mother, but it was also true that it would ruin everything and she didn’t want her younger siblings to grow up in a broken family. The only thing she wanted was for her father to leave her alone and never speak to her unless absolutely necessary. He agreed.
She begins spending all her time by the beach, in the company of the merman. She wondered what his name was, and to her bewilderment, he shrugged and said he didn’t have one. So she decides to give him one herself, Aqualor. It seemed merfolk-y enough. Luckily, the merman didn’t object and smiled instead, accepting the name.
Her best friend is worried though. He can never seem to even catch a glimpse of the love of his life anymore. Where was she? Now that they’d both grown into adults, it became harder to see each other; he had to work to support himself(and her, in the future). He felt horrible about it, but in all honesty he was a little glad the rest of the village didn’t take to her. If they did, surely she would have been taken away from him. Even if she didn’t know it, she was incredibly beautiful. It was impossible for him not to be a little biased, but she truly was the most wonderful thing he’d laid his eyes on. He could only imagine how it’d be if people actually treated her like she looked.
While her best friend felt the separation anxiety, darling count be happier. Finally she had someone who understood her fully. There was someone to relate to when she explained the urge to dive deep beneath the waves and disappear, and how pleasant water felt on her skin. Aqualor understood everything perfectly.
Her best memory was of her first swim with Aqualor. She’d been somewhat sacred in he beginning. Despite her desperate longing for the ocean, she’d never been in it much. It was quite ironic. He’d been so patient with her, never pushing or getting annoyed. He waited until she was more comfortable venturing out in the openness. Now they swam together every day, laughing and playing. Of course, Aqualor was the superior swim more out of the two of them, but darling likes to think she isn’t so shabby herself.
This is how she thought the rest of her life would be like; she and Aqualor enjoying each others company from morning to evening, while she returns home to the village every night. She didn’t have a job- no one would hire her anyway- so why not have fun with your friend? It wouldn’t be the best life, but it’d be peaceful and easy.
However, the ‘easy’ disappeared when Aqualor asked if she’d like to join him in the sea permanently.
“What? What do you mean?” She tilted her head in confusion.
The merman flipped his tail in the shallow water- his upper body was on the sand while the rest of him remained in the water. “Would you not like to come with me? We already spend so much time together, so it would hardly be any different.”
“Yeah, but I can’t just leave. I have to stay with my family.” She glanced back up and could see the tiniest snippet of houses, the village.
“You mean the father who has committed sins, a mother who doesn’t care for your feelings and siblings who forget your existence?” He harshly pointed out. His words stung.
“They’re far from perfect, I know that. But still, I can’t just vanish- I don’t even think I can survive out there!”
He grabbed her hand, his were wet and slightly webbed. It didn’t bother her though.
“Of course you can. Remember your heritage? Besides, I will be there and guide you through it. I will protect you, I will hunt for you. It will just be you and me, happy and content. Doesn’t it sound lovely?”
She went quiet and looked away, unsure.
He continued, “You alway tell me of how the humans treat you. They scorn you and say hateful words about you. That is because you are above them.” He smiled. “You do not belong here- you are mer! You should be with your people.”
“But even if I have mer-blood, I’m still human, look at me.” She stretched out her legs, flexing them and empathising their difference.
“You may have the appearance of a human, you soul, however, it is of a mermaid. You long to be free and to live the life you’ve always meant to live. They can’t keep you here in this…” his voice trailed off to disgust “cage.”
Darling sat and listened to Aqualor’s ramblings. Did he have a point? It’s not like anyone would miss her really. Her friend, yes, but he has so much else to live for. He’s not strange and everyone thinks well of him. He’ll be successful.
“So, what do you say, my coral? Will you join me?”

The Showman swayed with the waves, creaking and groaning as foam crashed against the hull. The crew shifted restlessly, bodies tense as they shuffled around deck, waiting for even a word from within the Captain’s quarters. Never before had they stayed in one place on the ocean surface for so long, the pause casting unease within their ranks.
Gulls cried as they circled overhead, uncaring for what was going on within the heart of the ship.
“Did you shoot down an albatross or are you simply very unlucky?” Aventurine cooed as he shuffled his deck. Rings of gold and silver lined every other finger, shining haughtily underneath the sunlight as his black silk gloved hands shuffled the deck for the final round.
The captain of The Showman, a wiry and tall man with a full black beard seethed from on his plush velvet seat, face red with rage. “I ain’t unlucky. Yr’ just a cheater! Trying to trick me inta repayin’ my debt! I repaid you blithering sea-snakes ages ago!” He thundered, furiously slamming a scarred hand on the wooden table. Trinkets and pearly jewelry in the place of betting chips laid on the table trembled at the crash, falling to the floorboards miserably.
Aventurine gave no reaction to the man’s whining, smile only widening as he eyed the dark green coat his pirate opponent had obviously stolen from some unfortunate noble. “I’m afraid that’s where you are wrong. You simply think you repaid us.” Aventurine started with a casual shrug of his shoulders “Two years ago, you reached out to us—The Medusa, claiming you had enough money to rid you of your debt. A colleague of mine agreed to meet you at Sargentine’s one and only port city casino, yet when she got there…you were drunk beyond comprehension. You had gambled all of your savings away, just months before your payment was due. So close to freedom, too.” Aventurine gave the quaking captain a faux sympathetic look, tutting like a disappointed parent while dealing cards with practiced ease.
“Blasphemy! I worked my crew half to death getting all that precious cargo—I wouldn’t let it all go t’ some silly landfolk game!” He shrieked. The grip on his cards was paper white.
“You were quite drunk, I heard. Spent too much time at the brothel, perhaps?” Aventurine said with a chuckle. “But let’s get back to the point. I’m here because no matter how you spin it, you have payments to us that are overdue.” He straightened in his chair, smoothing out his perfectly pressed white silk shirt as the air grew thick with tension. “Now, you can try your hand at a game with higher stakes than your stolen jewelry and attempt to win your freedom, or I can simply evict you here and now for the murder of Cassidy White: late father of the Prince of Sargentine.”
The captain paled at Aventurine’s words, the hand of cards falling from his grasp in a shower of inked paper. His brown leather eyes widened with fear, staring down at him in shock.
Aventurine laughed heartily at the stupefied look, head thrown back from laughter as his eyes crinkled with mirth. “You think I didn’t recognize the embroidery on your fancy jacket? Cassidy White was a lover of the sea before he settled and married the current Queen of Sargentine. He had that coat custom made and wouldn’t go anywhere without it. It’s a shame you killed him on his ship, he sounded like the kind of guy I could talk with. Oh well, no crying over spilled milk I suppose.”
The captain paled even further if possible, gripping at his coat’s cuffs like a lifeline as realization dawned on him. The coat was a brilliant dark greenish-black color with blue leather cuffs and lapels patterned with golden ripples like the sea. Fancy gold trimming accompanied by a single thick rope covered the shoulder pads. Within the collar of the coat was the cursive signature of Cassidy White with the royal insignia of Sargentine emblazoned next to it. Aventurine would have had to be a complete fool to not recognize it immediately.
“Fortunately, you ended up with me: the Aventurine stoneheart to the Medusa. The Monetary Evaluation Department Underseers of Seaside Altercations if you didn’t know. I would say I’m a very generous man, so I will repeat to you your two options.” Aventurine raised a single finger “One, you win my game of Roulette and drop this sorry betting game with cards,” he raised another “Two, I kill you now and throw your entire crew into company custody for first degree murder on multiple occasions while on a ship given to you by Medusa. Taking all possessions to repay your debt. What do you say, captain?”
The boat groaned, singing with the waves as it swayed in place, the sound filling the vast room stuffed with stolen goods and currencies like music. Aventurine waited silently with a smile, one hand on the holster of his gun as the wiry man contemplated his choices.
That was the wonderful thing about the mother ocean. A man could only run the length of his ship before he could be caught. No land to hide behind, no trees or buildings to protect him. Only the vast ocean filled with more horrors than any sane man or pirate would dare to take a chance against. Trapping him with his own monsters until he touched earth.
After another moment of thinking, The Showman’s captain looked Aventurine in his glaring pink and blue eyes with steeled nerves and gave a grim nod. “One. I’ll win yer’ damn game.” He growled.
Grinning, Aventurine couldn’t help but disagree. “We’ll see about that. Fate works in mysterious ways.”
Taking his silver revolver from its holster, Aventurine loaded three bullets into the chambers before spinning the cylinder round and round until there was no possible way to know what it would shoot. “Any last words before we begin?”
The man spat at Aventurine’s face, a scowl forming on his dry lips. “Yeah. B’fore the loser dies, they reveal valuable information no one knows but themselves to the other. One less secret for you t’ take to yer grave when I shoot you where ya sit.”
“I can agree with that. But I highly doubt you’ve got a secret I think is good enough to spill on your deathbed.” The stoneheart said nonchalantly, twirling the gun in his hands with unnecessary flare before gripping it tight.
The captain, topped with the iconic pirate hat and a gnarly scar running down half of his bearded face stared at the gun as if his life depended on it. Because it did.
Aventurine never let his eyes leave the pirate, staring into the damned man’s soul for what would probably be the last time.
Bowing dramatically, one hand behind his back and the other cradling the gun, Aventurine rose and said “Got a coin we could flip? Winner shoots first.”
Tumblr media
The ocean hissed at the pensive crew, water dark and stormy brewing. Twitching with unused power, the pirates grew antsy as time passed overhead, their leader yet to return or give them a single word of new news.
Paul, a stout man with one eye and a torn lip leaned against the heavy oak door. Ear pressed against the wood, he strained to hear anything through the door. He waited and waited for any sound, but it was dead silent on the other side.
Paul was ready to push away from the door when there was a muffled bang that echoed through the wood. A gunshot. It had to be. Paul knew that sound by heart.
Heart light, a grin broke out on his face as he turned to his crew mates. Jamming a thumb behind him, Paul mimed a gun firing with his other hand.
Hobbling away from the door, Paul snickered to himself as smiles and proud sneers broke out on everybody’s faces. Some even managed to let out chortles or snorts of sadistic laughter. The tension broke like a fickle stick to be added to the fire.
The captain of The Showman was not to be messed with. They had plundered and pillaged hundreds of ships and towns, a single man was nowhere near enough to stop him.
“Well, I’m glad that’s over.”
The crew froze, smiles shifting to frowns as they all stared in confusion at the blond man before them.
Aventurine gave a languid smile, waving a gloved hand covered in jingling bracelets and rings in greetings as he casually carried a long greenish-black coat over his shoulder.
“You’re not the captain.” Paul spat venomously, staring at the coat in Aventurine’s possession with disdain. The other crew members grumbled and hissed in agreement behind him, hands inching for their weapons.
“No, but his ship is mine now. And you lucky lot are under arrest. My sincerest apologies.” Aventurine said, unaffected by the crew drawing their swords and guns. Shoving a hand in a black pocket stitched into his pants, he withdrew a small pile of silvery blue dust.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you.” The blond warned.
The rebellious crew froze immediately at the sight of the powder: Ground siren’s scales. A single sniff could knock a grown man out for weeks, and could even cause death and permanent paralysis in more serious cases. Aventurine had enough dust in his hand to kill the entire crew and then some.
The ocean crashed violently against the ship, as if sensing the presence of one of its lost children. Sea froth stained the floor of the vessel as it rocked back and forth violently. Aventurine adjusted his stance with ease while the seasoned crew struggled to gain their footing. The sea longed for the dust, calling for it desperately.
“Now, if you don’t want to end up with immovable limbs for the rest of your lives I suggest you stop resisting. The ocean is the perfect place to dump bodies and I’d prefer it if you didn’t make more work for me. Though if you’d like to jump now I’ll allow it, the ocean seems pretty finicky today. Maybe a nice snack will calm her.” Aventurine warned, holding the ground scales closer to the ocean and causing the ship to lurch so hard half of the crew fell onto their backs.
The few that remained standing sheathed their weapons, knowing well when they were outsmarted. Aventurine grinned, pocketing a good portion of the dust before reaching for the flare gun strapped to his right leg. With a single click, the flare sailed into the air for as long as it possibly could.
Like a cheetah suddenly leaping from the grassy savanna, a ship so large it made The Showman look miniature appeared in the distance. It fought against the crashing waves as it slowly approached, growing larger and larger the closer it came. The crew watched with slack jaws as the grandiose ship neared.
“Ah! There she is! The mighty Sigonius, my favorite ship.” Aventurine crowed, chest puffing with pride like a peacock flaunting it’s feathers. “Be thankful that you get to board the Sigonius before you are thrown in jail, ladies and gentlemen. It is a privilege indeed.”
The crew felt both annoyed and awed at Aventurine’s words. Annoyed at his flaunting, and dumbstruck that he could ever captain such a large ship. The Sigonius approached much faster than one would expect of a ship of such large size. Slowing to a stop, the gargantuan teal ship sent out a large metal bridge to connect both sea vessels together.
“Sorry, but lowly scum like yourselves aren’t allowed to see the insides of Medusa ships.” Taking his chance, Aventurine blew the dust straight into the heart of the Showman crew. One by one, they all crumpled to the deck like puppets freed of their strings.
In perfectly aligned rows, troops marched down the bridge and began casing the groaning ship. Weapons were confiscated and jewelry was gathered into crates labeled “perishables”. The workers swarmed the smaller ship like bees drawn to flowers, buzzing with activity wherever they went.
Deciding that his job was finished, Aventurine started to make his way to the bridge when the ship shook violently.
Dulled by the wood, a horrific spine crawling sound echoed from beneath the floorboards of The Showman. Workers paused to listen to the wail-like scream, stunned with shock and hit with unease as the sound continued.
Aventurine frowned, hairs standing on end and goosebumps rising along his arms. His heartbeat spiked the more the sound continued.
Suddenly it stopped, as if it had never happened in the first place.
Was that part of the secret the now deceased captain had told him about?
Turning to the nearest worker, Aventurine flashed a charming smile barbed with tebsion. “Take a team below deck and find out what made that noise, okay?”
“Yes sir.” The soldier nodded, saluting before marching off to rally a team.
With nothing left for him on the ship, Aventurine stepped foot on the Sigonius once again, heading straight for his private sleeping quarters. The ocean continued to riot against the small Showman, pummeling its sides and swaying it violently. At that rate, the ship only had a few hours until the tides capsized it. Hopefully the ship could be cleaned out before then.
As Aventurine was about to open the door to the hall, a keen shrill broke through the air and made the sailors cover their ears in pain. Quick to cover his own ringing ears, Aventurine staggered over to the railing of the ship—desperate to find out what was making the horrid noise. Even with both hands clamped tightly to the side of his head, his ears still dribbled with blood from the nauseating noise.
Searching with pain filled eyes, Aventurine scanned the waters between the ship for signs of monstrous life. Instead of finding a six headed beast or a pack of agitated Cyclas, Aventurine spotted a sizable hole torn through the wooden side of The Showman’s hull. Wood splinters drifted in the raging ocean along with thick fisherman netting twined with red string. An incredibly bad omen.
Oily black liquid stained the surface of deep blue sea, spreading out from the hole now starting to fill with sea water. The liquid dripped from the hull like wet paint, giving off such an intoxicating smell Aventurine was ready to believe that The Showman had raided a perfume store.
Holding his breath, Aventurine waited for the wail to sound out once again. Like clockwork, the piercing shriek pounded away at his ears determined to turn him deaf. Mind racing, Aventurine carded through his internal library of sea creatures at lightning speed.
Ink black liquid, enchanting smell, angry ocean, horrific screams, enough strength to bust through the hull of a Medusa ship, red string intertwined with fisherman netting: it was a mermaid. Possibly even a siren.
As if confirming his suspicion, another sorrowful scream shook the ocean and rocked even the mighty Sigonius. The netting Aventurine had thought to be simply drifting in the water now thrashed violently, the thick rope was black with the same oil colored liquid in the ocean. Furious waves crashed against both ships as the black substance continued to increase with each jerk of the hook and seal infested netting.
Blood. It was all blood.
“I want all men off The Showman immediately! There is a breach in the hull!” Aventurine roared when the scream trembled to a long whale like whine. “And get that mermaid out of the damn netting! They’ll drown us all if they don’t stop!”
Men still aboard the Showman scrambled to cross the shaking bridge while Aventurine ran for the lifeboat closest to the blood stained water. With no patience to wait for fellow sailors, he dropped the boat into the thrashing sea. It was never a good idea to stay between two large ships that could knock together and crush you at any time, but Aventurine was willing to take the risk if it meant stopping the siren from killing them all by accident.
Letting the water bring him closer to the net, Aventurine reached out and began to draw in the bloody rope as he sawed away with his hunting knife bit by bit. It tugged and jerked in his hands, threatening to send him beneath the waves multiple times, but Aventurine sat firm in the small boat.
The nets were endless as they were large, Aventurine cut as much as he could but more net seemed to replace it each time. Either this was a siren, or Aventurine was dealing with a very young and unhappy whale.
Sailors grouped in the other boats dropped into the sea around him, grabbing at the net and heaving with all their might. It was no use trying to cut the sea creature free, there was simply too much net to get through before the sea creature drowned them in a tidal wave.
They had to bring it aboard the ship.
Tumblr media
The ocean raged endlessly, transpiring with the ravenous storm from above. Together both elements made even the Sigonius ship feel like it was capable of tipping.
To take a sea-daughter away from the water invoked the mother’s most powerful protective measures to ensure its child’s safe return.
The only way to calm the mother ocean was to return its daughter back to water. Every sailor and pirate worth their salt knew that one thing before agreeing to a life on the ocean. Himself included.
Aventurine only had one problem: there was no place to set the net swaddled mermaid on the Sigonius. Not naturally, at least.
Riffling through the previously locked drawers of the dresser planted against the wall of his sleeping quarters, Aventurine searched for his Favour. A magical sand-dollar that would build you a single non-living object if you set the evil or troublesome soul trapped inside of it free. Aventurine had come across it while strolling through the port market in a different country. A lucky find.
Since that day, he had kept the Favour tucked away for a moment like this one.
Having finally found the pitch black sand dollar, Aventurine made his way through the groaning ship to his office. A group of ten men kneeled before the mass of red twined netting covering the deck, wax muffles stuffed deep in their ears as the beast let out softer yet still ear rupturing cries. The group worked tirelessly to slice through the thick hook infested ropes, trying their best to not accidentally stab the hidden siren with their knives or dig the arsenal of hooks into its skin.
Aventurine paused, his head aching from the pain of the continuous crying. Raising his voice as loud as it could go, Aventurine yelled “Have the mer brought to my office when most of the nets are gone! I will take it from there.”
Only two men seemed to realize he had spoken over the shrill whale like noise the mer let out when a stray hook supposedly caught onto its body. They nodded, squinting at his lips but giving him two thumbs up before returning to their work. With the hope that the crew mates actually knew what Aventurine asked of them, he made his way to the office reserved for the captain of The Sigonius.
Pushing the heavy furniture around until it all stood grouped together in the middle of the room, Aventurine crushed the Favour without hesitation as the Sigonius rocked uncomfortably.
Red mist arose from the sand dollar, curling in the air like incense before it transformed into a giant angry cloud that whirled around the room. It writhed and shrieked, the horrifically deformed finned face pressing against the cloud harmonizing with the beast outside before coating the entire room in a thick scarlet mist.
Aventurine held his breath, elbow over his face as the red filling his vision deepened to a color reminiscent of dried blood.
The spirit gave a final wail from within the mist before throwing itself through the wooden walls to the ocean outside. A siren’s soul had been trapped inside, now free to drown sailors from beyond the grave of it so wished. Though Aventurine saw the trade as necessity as he stared at the object before him.
In place of the mist was a great tank that nearly reached the roof of the room, a rolling ladder made of iron connected to black railings attached along the outermost glass wall. The entire tank spanned three of the four walls, edges perfectly curved and inside wide enough for Aventurine to lay flat on his back and still not touch the walls. A kind of cement or rubber like object protected the wooden floorboards beneath, capable of protecting the room from leaks. Water a perfect blue hue filled the dull and empty tank, saving Aventurine a great deal of time.
With the addition of the tank using up a chunk of the office, Aventurine got to rearranging his desk and other equipment out of the way to the ladder before opening the door and waiting for the sailors to arrive.
It seemed like his words hadn’t been lost to the crew mates, now dragging a still entangled mermaid behind them. It’s screeching was like metal grating against clay, thrashing weakly as hooks poked through the now few layers of netting encasing it.
Aventurine nodded at the exhausted crew members. “Good. Help me get it in the tank, and then you’re free to rest.”
“Of course, captain.” One of the sailors agreed, bowing their head.
As a team, the tall and hulking sailors hoisted the mermaid, now limp from exhaustion or merely accepting its fate, into the water with a loud splash. Aventurine waved for the crew to leave from his position on the ladder, watching as the sea creature within started to squirm the moment it hit water. The ocean outside immediately started to calm, the rocking waves growing weaker by the minute.
The door closed with a satisfactory click as the last of the group left the room now colored in a blue light from the water blocking the stained glass window. The sun, now peeking out from the dying storm started to fall below the horizon.
Aventurine stared, waiting with bated breath for the creature to reveal itself. Tendrils of black blood spreading in the once pristine seawater thanks to its wounds. Except, there was no further movement. The mer did not slip out from the nets in a dramatic reveal of beauty like Aventurine thought it might. Nor did it leap out from the tank and tear his throat out in the span of a few seconds. It laid hidden within the blankets of bloody black fishnets, unmoving aside from the small rise and fall of (supposedly) its chest.
The mer had fallen asleep. Or was dying slowly from blood loss.
Either way, it would be pointless staying up to watch the (hopefully)sleeping mermaid. Aventurine had a ship to captain and a meeting to attend on land. Letting out a sigh, Aventurine left the messily arranged office locked behind him as he started a search for the night crew.
Tumblr media
The Sigonius was now docked at a port owned by Medusa in the land of Pleyr-Tor. A merchant hub where only the wealthiest families of all species thrived. The ship was silent save for the grumbling crew as they heaved heavy boxes of food up the bridge and repaired injuries sustained by the Sigonius on their voyage.
Three days had passed since Aventurine stepped on solid land for the first time in four months. The sun was readying to descend when the captain finally returned to his ship.
Crew members watched silently as Aventurine stalked up the bridge with a lax smile, knowing full well what would happen if they disturbed him. Sailors parted like the blond was radioactive, forming a path for Aventurine to walk through all the way to the thick wooden door protecting the Captain’s office. The door opened and closed with a normal click that might as well have been a slam to the oldest members of the crew. If there were seasoned crew members left, that is. All had been lost to sea or let go to some other ship before they could ever form true bonds with their captain.
Locking the door behind him, Aventurine sank into his overly comfortable desk chair. The cedar wood table was littered with betting chips and papers for navigation and myths, debts to collect and which land to “assist” next. A single oil lamp placed in the top left corner, his only source of light on late nights. It needed replacing soon as it was having trouble lighting for the past few days. Aventurine made a note to himself to buy a better oil lamp while in Pleyr-Tor.
Hours passed in the blink of an eye as Aventurine worked away at the papers on his desk. His head ached from the constant smell of seawater, distracting him from any further work. Breathing out a sigh, Aventurine turned his chair around until it faced the large tank holding his underwater guest.
Madam Jade’s words rang in his ears, increasing the pain of his headache tenfold and causing the grip on his chair to increase.
Everything had a cost. Even freedom. No matter the race or situation. All debts must be repaid. Accidental or not.
Aventurine was not allowed to let the mermaid go.
Staring through the crystal clear glass, Aventurine watched as the sun slowly inched away from its low post in the sky. Down and down it went, painting the sky in yellows and pinks. Closing his eyes and letting himself soak in the fading sunlight until the sky turned a gentle purple, Aventurine did not catch when the once still mess of nets moved just slightly to the left.
“What should I do…” Aventurine muttered into his hand, glancing at the hidden mer within the still empty tank.
Perhaps that would soon change. If the mer lived, maybe sand and rocks of every color would brighten the dull cage. Seaweed could be taken from the ocean and planted for the slightest increase in privacy. Small fish to fill the void. Would the mermaid eat the fish? Hmm, maybe the fish could wait. Would the mer care if Aventurine added incense burners in the room to get rid of the seawater smell?
The nets, only two or four left, started to move. Aventurine snapped to attention, pushing away all his thoughts of decorating as he stood from his chair, knocking it over with a crash.
The ink black nets, large enough to easily capture Killer Whales, were jerked and pulled in every direction. Ropes started snapping one by one. Red twine floated in the water like bloody seaweed as the frayed strings broke apart.
Aventurine saw a faint flash of scales and a shadow of a hand slicing through rope from within. The creature, now awake and furious writhed underneath the netting. Blood matching the color of the night sky graced the dark blue water once again as hooks dug into flesh and scales. Water leapt out from the tank and onto the creaking floorboards below, staining them a dark brown.
The final rays of sunlight flickered below the window line and engulfed the room in almost total darkness. Slowly, Aventurine’s eyes adjusted to the dim setting. Blinking rapidly, Aventurine never let his gaze wander from the cloak of blood crusted fisherman netting even as his largest source of light sank beyond his vision.
There came a skin crawling trill from within the tank. It was clearer this time, the mer’s disorienting melodic voice humming with the water instead of its painful cries when above water. Goosebumps arose on his flesh in waves, hair standing on end the longer the call continued. The air, once warm and comforting was now colder than the winter ocean.
A clawed hand broke free from the nets.
Backing away on shaky feet, Aventurine turned to snatch the oil lamp from his desk while his heart started to beat louder than a drum in his ears. There was the muffled sound of nets continuing to snap and break from behind, the being writhing just beneath the surface. Water stained black fell to the floor around him, no less different than human blood when drying into wood.
Aventurine fumbled to light the lamp, pausing when there was a flash of blue light from behind. His heart went still and his mind raced, wondering if he truly had brought a killer siren onto his ship.
Face instinctually morphing into a calm smile, Aventurine turned around, lamp forgotten.
Eyes deeper than the midnight zone stared into his soul with pupils blown so wide the irises were barely visible. Fins flared with a rattling quiver as their lower body looped and coiled throughout the enclosure that almost seemed too small to fit their massive size. Lights flashed continuously along their skin and long, flowing tail. Aventurine couldn’t tell where one bioluminescent fin ended and another began in the darkness filled only by the light of the mer.
Claws sharp enough to pierce bone reached up and up and up until they touched the edge of the glass tank, unblinking eyes never leaving his form for even a moment.
Lips parting to let out a deep warble, Aventurine saw two sets of razor sharp canines peeking past their lips. The creature lifted itself up with only its arms until it reached out of the tank. Tail still curling in an endless spiral in the water as their upper half touched the wooden floorboards.
Instead of backing away for showing fear, Aventurine gave his best smile as he stepped forward, watching at their water logged hair splayed on the ground around them. “Y’know, you caused a lot of trouble for me. Sinking a ship I just finished taking over and having me loose valuable artifacts was quite rude of you. I deserve an apology, don’t you think?”
Their lips pulled back further than should be possible for a human, the flesh of their cheeks tearing in bloody strips until their rows upon rows of pointed teeth were revealed. Torn frills all along their body quivered angrily. Scales flashed in warning, a clear message to stay away or risk death. Letting out a chitter-like sound, the mermaid’s eyes narrowed as they continued to stare at Aventurine.
In the dark of night, Aventurine only had the dim glow of the mer’s scales to make out their towering figure. His mind more than happy to fill in the details he could not see.
He stepped closer, hands stuffed in his new coat pockets. Aventurine never was one to play safe. “Breaking through the hull of a ship like that must have caused some serious damage. I’m surprised you’re even standing right now. Tough cookie, aren’t you?” He said, tilting his head to the side as he willed his eyes to adjust better to the lack of light.
“You are quite the beauty, as well! What’s your secret? Let me guess…the flesh of sailors?” While laughing at his own joke, the mer continued to watch him with their hundred yard stare. The fins in place of human ears flicked at the sound of his voice, trembling softly.
“Oh it’s nothing, just an old pirate joke. You really are lucky that I was the one who came across that ship you were in and not one of the other Stonehearts. I doubt Topaz would find you cute enough to rescue.” Aventurine hummed, watching as the mer drew more of its body from the water. The sea-daughter was long—so long Aventurine couldn’t tell the length of their tail with how it had to circle around the entire tank and then some just to fit. Definitely more than a meter or two, that he was sure.
The mermaid’s clawed hand twitched as their smile widened. Tilting their own head to the side as their large eyes bored into Aventurine’s soul, a pale film covered them for a brief second as they blinked without proper eyelids. A clicking sound reminiscent of dolphins left their mouth instead of the horrific screech Aventurine was haunted by on the day he saved its life. Dagger sharp nails tapped against the bloodied and groaning wood rhythmically as the raspy clicking continued.
Aventurine paused as he listened to the mer’s clicks and taps, watching as they repeated the action over and over again. Clearly, they had yet to murder him via siren song or rip his arm off and use it as a snack to munch on after showing how easy it was to lift their own body over the glass wall like it was nothing.
What were they trying to say? Or were they saying anything at all?
“Can you even understand me?” Aventurine questioned, shifting on his feet. The mermaid, to its credit, looked thoroughly confused on it’s part. They let out a growlish “Buwerr?” And tilted their head further than should be safe for something that looked so human.
“I’ll take that as a no. A language barrier, huh? This is going to be interesting.” Aventurine muttered to himself, though he was sure the mermaid heard with how it’s fins twitched. It had good hearing.
The mer towered over Aventurine, face still broken and showing a concerning number of teeth with eyes eclipsed to a near completely black state. It was incredibly unnerving, especially since the only light was from their fluorescent fins and blinking scales. Not to mention they were covered in their own blood.
“Let’s get you cleaned up. All that dried blood can’t be comfortable, can it? We can discuss other matters later,” Aventurine said with a grin. His body easily fell into its masked routine, hiding the fear and uncertainty he felt and replacing it with confidence.
Fins flicking and scales blinking, Aventurine’s newest bet nodded. The mer shifted, jaw re-hinging and skin weaving back together over their cheeks until their face looked exactly like a human. Blinking with those filmy white eyelids, their pupils shrank and morphed into perfect replicas of human eyes—no, Aventurine’s eyes. He shivered involuntarily at the sight of eyes that mirrored his own as the mermaid changed itself to look like a deity among men for his own comfort. Or for it’s own comfort, which is more likely.
The mermaid chittered in a chipper tone, lips curling into a toothy smile. It had horrifyingly sharp teeth.
Yep, still a mermaid.
Holding out a now dainty hand the same colors as the sand, the mer waited with an expectant look. It’s tail swayed playfully in the water, sloshing seawater over the edge and onto the already soaked floor. When Aventurine did not take their hand, the mer made a tutting noise and retracted their arm back to their side. Their frills trembled and glowing scales blinked to a deep green before shifting to scarlet red, and finally a bright fuchsia.
They made a strangled animal sound, like an elk with a frog in its throat. Their lips obviously weren’t used to moving properly. They paused, scowling and fluttering their fins moodily before letting out an unidentifiable sound.
“Gr….grr..greetings.” Aventurine’s own distorted voice echoed back at him from the mermaid’s mouth. It huffed with pride, fins flicking in waves.
Ah, so it could mimic as well. How dandy.
Holding its hand out once again, the mermaid repeated the word twice over with lips un-synced from Aventurine’s copied voice.
Ah, so it wanted a handshake.
Chuckling, Aventurine said “Ah, I suppose we did skip over pleasantries,” he cleared his throat “I am Aventurine, a stoneheart of Medusa. Pleased to meet you. Use me as you wish, you can even stab me in the back if you want to—but I don’t make bets that don’t pay off.” Reaching out, Aventurine twined his fingers together with the mermaid’s. Hands palm to palm.
The mer stared down at him, gazing at their intertwined hand as their webbed ears twitched and titled, finely tuned to the pitch and exact tone of his words to break the barrier between their languages.
Shaking their held hand, the mermaid nodded with a smile.
Clicking and trilling, the mer drew words from the air to repeat a word still unintelligible to Aventurine even with the mimicry of his voice.
“Ah, the language barrier strikes again. How about I just give you a nickname instead? Just until we can find a middle ground.” Aventurine suggested with a shake of his head. His conscience weighing too heavily on his shoulders to handle a shrug.
“Yes…yes!” They sang, pulling Aventurine close to their chest as they circled around him like a boa. The mer nodded merrily, lights flaring to a rosy pink. Aventurine pulled his hand away, adjusting his glove as he pondered.
“Well, it has to be fitting—but not too odd. Since we’ll be together for quite a while it should have some kind of meaning behind it, don’t you think?” Aventurine went on as he craned his head upwards to look into the mermaid’s curious eyes. They nodded sagely, fins attentive as they licked their salty lips.
Aventurine slowly listed name after name, watching for a change in the mer’s expression. Eventually the mermaid returned to the water from pure disinterest in the names, holding him steady as they forced him to sit on the highest stair of the ladder.
The mer looked ready to drift underneath the water by the time Aventurine was starting to run out of names. Grasping at his last few ideas, Aventurine hesitantly listed the last name that came to mind. Your name.
Erupting from the water, your hands grabbed at Aventurine’s shoulders as you both fell back into the water like whales breaking from the ocean for air.
“Perfect!….YES! YES!NAME! YES, NAME!” You shrieked joyfully, tail crashing in the water as you literally lit up with glee. “MY NAME NOW! EVER!”
“Alright! Alright! That’s your name now! Glad you like it.” Aventurine sputtered, dragging his soppy wet blond hair away from his wide eyes as he floated in your tank. You circled around him in a never ending spiral, chittering and trilling with a smile so large Aventurine thought your mouth might just split open again.
Swimming to the edge, Aventurine stared into your bright eyes when you met him at the rim.
You reminded him a lot of himself when he was young. Aventurine didn’t know how much he liked that fact as he watched you twirl in the water without a care in the world.
Aventurine called your name and you paused, eyes a carbon copy of his own staring back into his soul and touching something he thought was buried the day he lost his family during the tribal wars. “…Don’t ever let Medusa tie you down, okay? This stupid organization doesn’t need to ruin any more races.”
Your fins twitched at his words, blinking to a deep blue lighting. “Stoneheart…Medusa,” You parroted with worry. “Aventurine…tie..”
“Hmm, no—forget I said anything. We can talk about all that later. If you’ve already forgotten, you are still pretty injured. So let’s focus on you getting better for now. We’ll have all the time in the world to talk later.” Aventurine huffed, patting your head with a bare hand. “I’m not going anywhere.”
Neither are you, is what Aventurine chose to leave unsaid.

You had woken up surrounded by warmth.
Warmth and the sweet sound of a distant bird chirping. It stirred you into doing what you usually did in the mornings. Yawn and stretch out your arms-
"Careful! You nearly poked me in the eye."
WHAT-?!
Your eyes popped open and you squealed finding a pair of red eyes just inches away from your face. Out of instinct you squealed out again and scrambled back away from the sudden half asleep face of Kyojuro only to slip over Makio's giant golden tail and fall over onto your back.
...Well if everyone wasn't awake before they certainly were now.
"Oh my goodness!" Hinatsuru's concerned face immediately peeked over Makio's tail and looked down at you. "Y/n, are you alright?"
A second later Rengoku perked up beside her rubbing his eyes and yawning. Suma jolted awake with a loud snort somewhere behind everyone as they all looked down at you. You groaned a hand reaching out to rub your head and slowly allowing yourself to take in what had just happened. Slowly you removed your head and looked down at your legs still half over Makio's tail. The three of them stared back at you with Suma just now sticking her head out from behind Kyojuro with the wildest bed head. You stared...until suddenly all the events of last night really kicked you good and hard in the head like grass suddenly getting squished under a falling tree. Akira. Kyojuro. KISSING!! The girls. Wife mentioned. KISSING!! You waking up in the middle of the night in Kyojuro's arms.
K I S S I N G!!!
Your face went beat red and everyone was startled as you suddenly pulled off of Makio only to shoot up to your feet. A hand slapping over your mouth. That it-....IT ALL MUST'VE BEEN A DREAM!! YEAH!! THAT'S IT!! You were so overwhelmed by Akira showing up that you fainted, had a crazy dream, and woke up here because your friends were worried about you! Yeah! That's it! That must've been it! It was just a giant weird nightmare dream thing. You sighed somewhat even if you didn't really feel relieved.
"Honey? Are you alright?," Kyojuro asked concerning scrunching up his brows.
"I-I'm fine," you shakily said quickly fixing your dress, "I just had t-the craziest dream with-.." You paused. Blinking before you slowly turned to look at them again. "..Did you just call me honey?"
"Do you prefer sweetheart? I'm sadly not too familiar with human nicknames for married couples but-"
"WHOA, WHOA, WHOA!! WAIT A SECOND!" You quickly held up your hands to the four of them with Suma rubbing her face and yawning widely. "Who said anything about us being married?! I thought you were only pretending to scare Akira off!"
As if they all were confused, the girls looked at one another in question, shrugged, and then all three looked at Rengoku as the defacto leader of their small pile. Sensing their want, Kyojuro took the lead as he should in Tengen's place and nodded.
"That's true. I was pretending to be your spouse in order to protect us all," he happily nodded with a large grin, "But then I proposed to you! You've been recuperating everything up to this point, it was only natural for us to take it to the next level!"
"But you've already accepted," he said confused gesturing to your hand.
Automatically you went to glance at your hand and to your horror found a shiny golden band around your ring finger and on the very front was a big green gem. Maybe an emerald? A pit immediately sunk into the bottom of your stomach as you stared wide eyed. Oh no. No no no no. That wasn't a dream?! This wasn't good! You didn't want to have this!
"I-.. You-.." You stuttered looking between their confused but happy faces to your hand a wave of emotions hitting you. Shock, fear, confusion, hesitation..but also strangely enough some flattery and intrigue under all of the big ones- You shook your head gaining a stern look. "Look. While I'm..." Flattered? Totally shocked? "..Humbled you all would find me attractive enough to want me to be your wife-" You settled on trying to be nice while also raising a hand. "-I can't be anymore than friends to you."
"WHAT?!," Suma wailed loud enough to make the rest of you wince, pushing herself higher by pushing up on Kyojuro's shoulders. He didn't seem to mind however and didn't seem phased at all by his wife's antics. "WHY NOT?! WE LIKE YOU AND YOU LIKE US!!"
"Not in a romantic sense! A-And on top of that we aren't even married! There's been no ceremony, no witnesses, and certainly no priest I know would officiate this-" And it was then that you had gotten an idea when you spotted the strand of rocks sewn into Rengoku's blonde hair. "Not to mention that you four are already married to Tengen! Remember?"
A silence was had between the four of them as they stopped where they sat, and then looked at one another. The elephant in the room being once again being addressed. You didn't forget about the obvious. Tengen was the entire reason they wanted to go back to the ocean
"You have someone to go back to. Someone who loves you and cares about you so much that he's willing to destroy an entire town for you all."
You jumped as something calloused and firm grabbed your hand. The much larger hand of Kyojuro enveloped yours. F/c eyes looked up into deep red ones. The look they gave you was a deep longing. Nothing like the looks that other men gave you.
"Neither do you. There's practically nothing here for you either is there? You said so yourself that there's not really much here."
"... Because the actions of selfish people and your Tengen are taking everything."
In a matter of seconds his face dropped and eyes widened. "W-What?"
The smaller hand in his pulled away from him as her face fell. "You all were brought here by force, I get that and I don't blame any of you for that. But whoever this Tengen is is causing a lot of innocent people their lives. He's drowned people, drive tens of others away from here, and he's making it harder and harder for the people who're still here. And on top of it all I can't in good conscious involve myself where it'll probably only cause more trouble than I'm worth. " The coldness was felt when she pulled off the pretty ring and pushed it back into his hands. "Here. Take this back and save it for someone special you really want."
The look he gave you followed by the looks of the others hurt a lot but...this was for the best. You couldn't live in the ocean with them and they just couldn't live the rest of their lives in a bathroom forever with the danger of being found out hanging over their heads everyday. No. You had to do what was best for everyone.
"You four must be hungry." You finally broke the silence and turned. "There's some eggs and a head of lettuce left. I'll make you something for breakfast and recheck Kyojuro's wounds before I leave for work."
By now his smaller wounds were all gone. His bigger wounds were nothing but surface cuts that would be nothing but maybe scars soon. The girls were all back at a healthy weight, and they didn't have any wounds that'd make it dangerous for them all to make the two week journey...It was decided then. As soon as you could get a horse and wagon, you'd take them all back. Even if you were unprepared, you couldn't delay it any longer. For everyone's best interest. As you left the room Rengoku was left staring so so confused at the ring. Why did she reject it after accepting their courtship? Was the ring not in her tastes? Did she not want him? Maybe she wasn't ready to be married yet? His thoughts stopped when Suma still hanging onto his shoulders hugged him tightly.
"Don't worry. She's probably just unsure because she hasn't met Tengen yet!"
"Yes! That's right! She wants to meet Tengen first!," Hinatsuru agreed smiling, "After all it wouldn't be fair unless he also met her! Don't worry!"
"... You're probably right." His hand closed back around the ring with a smile. "It's not fair for us to make a choice on their behalf! We shall wait until after they meet!"
You're head was filled with worries. Too many different thoughts buzzing around to really focus on one thing at a time. You made them something quick for breakfast and left them enough food for lunch to tied them over until you could bring them dinner...Which was impossible now because the entire butcher shop closed down three days ago when a quarter of the town packed up and left abandoning their homes and leaving for farther away towns or the city nearby. Even now as you walked along the road and looked upon the houses it was like you were walking through the remains of a ghost town. So many houses empty. So many businesses boarded up. So many people gone. Even now you watched as a man loaded up a wagon you had to pull by hand with who was presumably his wife standing by as he hauled another bag into the back. Wait..You knew those people.
It was Mr. and Mrs. Ochaco. The couple that ran the small series of fruit stands along the square.
You supposed with not enough people to buy their food, they didn't see the point of staying here either. It was like that everywhere now. No fish meant no income or goods. No goods means outside buyers wouldn't come by and bother. No income meant many people had no way to live. Without any customers their wasn't anything anyone could do about it. Which meant for a lot of people there was nothing left to do but become farmers (which not everyone could do) or leave for a better chance.
THIS WASN'T FAIR! NOT TO YOU! NOT TO THESE INNOCENT PEOPLE! NOT TO THE INNOCENT PEOPLE THE HENYA'S GREED AND THAT MERMAN'S WRATH ENDED UP DOOMING!!
It wasn't their fault! They didn't deserve to lose their families, their homes, their very way of life- And the reality only dropped from a pile of bricks to a boulder. As the legs carrying you came to a stop. F/c eyes widening as they took in the sight of wooden boards being hauled up on and over a window by one man as another took a hammer and nail and started hammering it into the home's side right over said window. And right in front of them both was your boss-
"M-Mrs. Satoshi?" You managed to get out finally snapping out of your stupor and began walking towards the old woman again. Upon hearing you the woman turned and looked surprised to see you there. "W-What are you doing?" Your arms gestured towards the flower shop. "What's going on?!"
Seeing the distress on your face, the old woman sighed sadly through her nose and shook her head. "Y/n, dear. I wasn't expecting you to show up again after yesterday. "
"What are you doing?," you repeated now recognizing the two men boarding up the shop as Niko and Mr. Satoshi.
"Yes. It is surprising isn't it?" You blinked as she fully turned to you and put her hands in front of her. "I guess it was only a matter of time. I'm afraid I'm being forced to close up shop."
A shattering sound pierced the fragile ghost town's air. "What?! I-..B-But you can't!"
"There's really no other way around it. Without anyone coming to buy my flowers there's no reason for me to set up shop."
"Then..W-What are you going to do?"
"My son has enough room for my husband and I. It'll be nice to settle down and spend time with my new grandchildren and we won't be forced to leave our home. Oh, I'm so sorry for springing this on you." Her hands reached over and grabbed one of yours apologetically. "But you're still a young, beautiful woman and you have so many opportunities. I'm sure you'll be able to find something much more fulfilling than a flower shop."
"Mother, we're finished with the windows. Come rest with us."
She looked over briefly to her son before turning back to you, sadly nodded, and then left you standing there by yourself staring at the remains of what used to be your life crumbling around you.
"Y/N'S BACK!! Y/N'S BACK!!"
You ignored Suma's happy cheers and instead walked right past the bathroom door to drag yourself into your room and flop yourself down face first into your bed and just lay there. The roller coaster of emotions that you've been forced to deal with taking it's toll along with the stress and frustration you've been feeling over the past months. You lost.. everything. Your life savings, your free time, your job, most of your social life, and now even the job you loved is no more. The only things you had left was your sanity and home but who knows how long they'll last at this rate! You were tired. All you wanted was to lay here forever and just sleep the bad dream away. To close your eyes and never look back but unfortunately that's not meant to be because you could still hear them calling out your name from just down the hall wondering why you weren't joining them.
...They couldn't stay here anymore. They had to go. And as your head lifted up from the warm, soft pillow you'd love nothing more than to lay on, you knew what had to be done once and for all.
When night time came it wasn't really too much trouble to sneak out once again during the night once the moon was high in the sky. Even if you there still was people still left that could spot you, there wasn't too much of a risk considering there was barely anyone left to really spot you let alone come out at night. You felt guilt wracking your very core with each step you took against the dark night towards the only person you knew of that had what you need to hopefully save more lives in the end. The barn doors on Niko's property creaked slowly opened as moonlight shined inside lighting up everything inside in a pretty silver glow.
A pretty brown and white pony turned it's head towards the dark figure standing in the doorway the pretty silver light reflecting off it's eyes. Before deciding the girl wasn't a threat and peacefully went back to chewing on the hay that was strewn about the pen. So it didn't mind a bit when the girl grabbed a bridle and approached it. It's so used to this being done so many times in its life that it didn't even put up a fight when she slipped it over his head or when she opened the door to the pen and pulled him out. Or when she took him outside looking around everywhere nervously as she took him beside the barn. Or when she made him stand still as she hooked up a familiar cart to him. Or when she pulled him along making him walk into the nearly empty town now. She only hoped Niko would forgive her for this.
You had done it. You'd committed theft. Yes. Technically this would be the third time you broke into someone's home, and stolen something but the first two times didn't count because the first time was technically a rescue mission and the second was recovering stolen property. There was a HUGE difference in now when you stole from innocent people and people you knew. You only hoped Niko would forgive you when you returned it to him a month later after you made the long trip back from the ocean. You quickly and quietly made your way back into your home looking back over your shoulder every five seconds expecting to see Niko or someone else come out of the darkness and raise the alarm for your crimes but the now mostly empty town remained quiet and peaceful..Or at least quiet. It was too eerie to be considered peaceful. You hadn't even gotten one step in the doorway when you were bombarded by a surprising sight.
A pair of annoyed and worried tired red eyes bore into yours from in the middle of your common room. "And just where have YOU been, Young Lady?"
"Rengoku!? What are you doing?!"
Rengoku was sitting up and leaning against a wall, arms crossed, and with a stern look on his face. Uncovered and with his long fish tail all exposed for anyone to walk in or look through a window and see. "What am I doing? I'm waiting for you to come home. Where were YOU?" He challenged back raising a thick eyebrow. "You didn't come join us for dinner or come to bed and you worried me sick sneaking out so late. What were you up to out there all by yourself in the middle of the night?"
"What are you? My dad?" You shook your head with a sigh. "That's not important right now." You quickly poked your head out to peer outside but luckily the only witness to your guests was the horse so you quickly closed the door. "You do realize if it was anyone else who walked in you would've been in big trouble right?"
"That's no excuse. As the man it's my duty to make sure all of my ladies are safe and taken cared for!"
You felt a strange form of flattery at the gesture but it was shoved under by your annoyance. "I appreciate it but I've been taking care of myself since I was a child. I don't need you to risk your cover just to try and take care of me."
"Well I can't help it if I'm worried! You didn't tell us or leave a note and-" He blinked as you just walked past him towards the hallway again. "H-Hey! Young Lady, you come back here when I'm talking to you! Where do you think you're going?"
"To get some bags and blankets." You could faintly hear the sounds of a thud and then Kyojuro dragging himself along the floors to follow you.
"Bags and blankets for what?", he called out confused. He wasn't very fast on land.
"Food, clothes, and whatever else I'm going to need in order to get you four back home."
The dragging noises stopped when you opened the door to your bedroom. "Wait. You mean-?!"
"If you want to be helpful go wake up the others and see if you can slip yourselves into that wagon outside while I gather the supplies."
There was a bit of silence behind you as you began scouring for what you needed and then you heard loud and fast dragging again before the distant sounds of another door opened followed- "My fireflies, wake up! A joyous day has arrived at last! We're finally going home!"
You only sighed and began gathering what you needed to get for the long journey ahead. A few large bags for stuffing as much none parishable foods in as possible for your all you could find, another bag for clothing and essentials, a large gourd for water, and a couple large blankets to throw over the top of the wagon to hide the cargo. A tarp would've been preferable but unfortunately you didn't have the luxury or time for that. The sooner this was over with the better. In went three bags of mixed supplies. In went a giant heavy gourd you struggled to lift in. And finally in went the four of your friends. You found Rengoku struggling to pull himself in on his own attempting to climb up the back wheels making the wagon loudly creak under his weight.
"SHH!! Kyojuro, what are you doing?!," you whisper yelled nearly dropping the lumpy bag of fruits and stale vegetables.
"Climbing in of course, Love! Is that not what you wanted?"
"...."
You had to take time out to literally help him climb in my lifting his long heavy tail and pushing it in. He was followed by you quietly picking up each of the girls and lowering them into the wagon alongside him. It was trickier than the last time you did this since they all had put on weight since the last time you had done this. Suma seemed the most excited and Makio had to slap a hand over her mouth as you pulled along the biggest blankets you had. With a light whooshing sound you threw them up in the air and pulled them all along until they draped over the entire back and effectively hiding the squirming mermaids underneath..Until they all popped their heads out excitedly on your left.
"I can't believe it! We're finally going home!," Suma practically screamed out smiling brightly, "I can't wait for all the yummy tuna again!"
A hand immediately shoved her head back down. "Pipe down! We're not out of this yet!"
"Wah! Kyojurooooo! Tell Makio to stop being so mean!"
"Let us all remain quiet. Makio is right and we are not out of this until we're back in our rightful home!" He blinked as the wagon jostled and you began pulling the horse along and in turn began to dragon the wagon along as well.
He was right. You weren't out of trouble yet. It would be at least a two week journey to the ocean and the road leading to it would take you all right past the Henya's home. You hadn't the faintest idea if Akira and his Aunt was still there or if he already left after the tantrum he through two days ago now. You didn't have a choice though. You had to take the chance. Stirring the horse towards the road headed Westward, you pulled him along and the horse followed obediently and successfully pulling the cart behind him. It was official. You all were off. Walking through the ghostly town early in the morning with the sun at least still three hours away from rising over the horizon. Each creak and rattle the cart made seemed to echo through the darkness making you fear that someone might wake up and catch you in the act. Each loud clip clip the horse made sending a chill down your spine that he'll attract something out from the darkness however as you all passed by abandoned home after abandoned home, no one showed their faces through the now empty buildings. And even if there was anyone left, they were fast asleep and oblivious to your journey. As you passed by the empty spaces, your friends stayed alert but quiet. Seemed even Suma knew the importance of being quiet right now. Soon the houses dwindled and you all were passing by the barn.
The Henya's farm. The place where this all started.
For you at least. Who knows where the girls were kept before they were moved here. Automatically you slowed the horse down to just a quieter slower walk as you approached the place. The shadow of the horrid barn seemed to loom over you all as you passed as if laughing and mocking them still for what they went through. You paid more attention to the house that laid still and dark. It looked like no one was home, so perhaps they had already left or maybe they were fast asleep. Either way you never took your eyes off of it as you all passed. The girls automatically lowered down with different levels of fear and worry and anger washing over their faces.  A growl made you jump and whirl behind fearing a stray dog or worse a wolf had chosen you all as an easy meal-..Only to half freeze half be relieved when you just noticed it was Kyojuro staring at the home too with such intensity that you swore his eyes were literally burning.
"Kyojuro, shush!," you sternly shushed him before quickly pulling the cart along.
It was doubtful that they could hear his soft growling from so far away but you weren't going to risk anything especially not when you just started your journey.  Despite all your feelings, the house remained dark as you passed it and stopped just outside the treeline and the road leading  into territory you've never been in. You took one last look at the quiet town and your home nestled inside, then at the Henya house, and then at the four pairs of eyes staring at you curiously wondering why you stopped. Two weeks. All it would take was two weeks and then you'd be free. With a shaky breath you turned back around and pulled the horse forward making the wagon creak along and leaving your old home behind.
You never knew about the man who entered your empty home the following afternoon and discovered the remains of a locked box's burnt latch in your fireplace and the leftover scales in your bathroom.
Your first day of traveling went..Ok you guessed. The sun rose three hours after you started and you four were surrounded by forest. You've already passed by the small river where the three Kocho sisters disappeared from here last autumn. Being so close near the ocean, it was always fairly warm and vibrant here but already it was nearing autumn again and soon you'd it'd be a year since they disappeared along with that Mitsuri girl. You know it was probably unlikely but you hoped that their families hadn't moved away too in case they ever came back. You stopped around midday by a small pond to allow the horse to rest and eat and drink and to give your aching feet a rest from the hours of walking around you had to do. And to allow yourself and the others to eat.
"Eat and drink sparingly. I don't know if all of this will last all of us until we make it there."
After an hour you continued until it was night, and you were plume tired. Sleep forcing you to tie the horse to a nearby tree and climb up into the back of the wagon to sleep with the others, Hinatsuru laying claim to you by pulling you to snuggle for the night.
"I can't wait for you to meet Lord Tengen. He's caring and kind and unlike any other man you've ever met."
The merman half responsible for your life going to hell? Yeah. Not going to happen but instead of arguing you just fell asleep to Suma snoring loudly again hugging Hinatsuru's other side. The next three days were pretty much the same. Walking, breaks, sleep, and rinse and repeat. By the fifth day you all hit your first snag. Surrounded by trees and forest constantly you didn't have exactly the ability to see far into the distance so when you came by a fork in the road. Both dirt roads looked exactly alike. Old, worn, and dirty. F/c looked between the two different directions unsure.
"...Where do we go?," you asked still so unsure.
"The right!" Makio pointed down the right path making you blink and look where she pointed.
"Right? Are you sure?"
She nodded blonde bangs swaying. "I remember that weird boulder there that looks like a bloated jellyfish when we were first brought this way. It's definitely right."
Bloated jellyfish?? There was certainly a misshapen rock there but a bloated jellyfish?? You decided not to argue and considering you've never been this far away, you just had to trust her so right it was. You pulled the horse that way and continued onto your journey. Three more days passed the same as nothing really changed but you were right days in now, more than half way in. Just supposedly six or so more days until you were able to reach the ocean.
You never knew about the danger that was approaching fast with each rest and sleep you took
By the ninth day the forests thinned out into half plains half trees. And the distant smells of salts and oceans were getting closer and stronger. Makio was right! You all were so close! You could taste the relief and freedom awaiting you all. Nine days turned to ten. The smells were stronger. Ten days turned to eleven. Most of the trees were gone now. Eleven days turned to twelve. You were so, SO CLOSE NOW! Twelve days turned to thirteen. You all hardly slept that night with the excitement. Thirteen turned to fourteen-
YOU ALL WERE SO EXCITED!!
The four in the back could hardly contain themselves! You kept walking and walking despite your sore feet only taking a single break by a small pond to quickly rest and eat before moving on again. The sun rose, went to the middle of the sky, and then slowly started to set when you saw seagulls cawing and flying through the sky. And then you saw it.
THE BEACH!!
THE BLUE OCEAN!!
THE YELLOW SAND!!
THE-...
.... the...You slowly came to a stop staring at what your eyes laid upon. The others initially excited also stopped what what they were doing to look shocked at what their sight beheld.
"Oh Posidon...Tengen.. what have you done?"
The setting sun's light lit up the beach and the blue ocean stretching far into the horizon as far as the eyes could see. And the destruction of others long past. The sounds-
The sounds of a torn sail flapped in the evening wind as it lazily flapped about from the broken mast ran into the ground, a mountain of splinters and what was once a majestic ship washed ashore next to it.
Clip. Clip. Clip. Clip.
The noises of the horse walking was quickly softened as the dirt turned into soft sand. Eyes bore sight of a graveyards worth of clutter. Where rotting wood met the cruel hot sand and the mocking waves that carried it here. Travesty after travesty you passed by. What was once boats of all sizes now marking the final resting place for those whom met a watery grave. The eyes gazed over each and every one as you passed. The result of greed and wrath.
But it'll all be over soon. You just had to get them into the water and all of it would be over. So more deaths. No more Mermaids. Only normalcy.
You shivered and tried to ignore the deep claw marks embedded into the sides of a rather large fishing boat telling yourself that they were just marks from getting stuck on a reef. You pulled the horse along until you spotted a sight that you instantly recognized. A dock! An old honestly rigidity looking dock was right in front of you all leading to the water just deep enough to let them all swim without having to crawl stuck in the sand. You walked and walked until you were standing right in front of it all. The wind gently blowing your hair and the other four staring silently.
"....Well..this is it." You spoke after a minute breaking the silence and turning to them. "C'mon. Let's get you all back home."
There was a silence as no one moved for a moment just staring longingly at the sight- Kyojuro was the first one to take initiative, grabbing the side of the cart and pulling himself out only to land on the ground with a thud sound. Suma was next excitedly squealing and practically throwing herself out and desperately hauling herself towards the water. Hinatsuru and Rengoku weren't too far behind her as they too dragged themselves out. Meanwhile you grabbed onto Makio and started walking behind them with her in your arms. One, two, and three mermaids clambered onto the docks and without missing a single beat- Threw themselves off the sides without even waiting  to get into deeper water.
Large splashes could be heard as they disappeared into the blue, blending into the darkness as the darkness crept further into the sky.
"You don't have to go y'know?," Makio's voice spoke out as you watched what you assumed was Suma's tail slapping the water. "This doesn't have to be good bye. We still want you to meet Tengen! You'll seriously like him! I promise!"
Makio watched as her face gazed at the water still, a hint of sadness as she opened her mouth to answer but didn't say a word as a reflection reflected by the limited sunlight caught her eyes. Pupils shrank as danger approached swiftly. Makio was once blinking in concern-
Then she was flying.
Makio elt weightless tumbling through the air as her world twisted and turned- AND THEN THERE WAS A SPLASH-
It's not often a person would see a beautiful beach. That was a privilege as eyes gazed out at the mournful sea. Gliding along in rows where it kissed the sand, it looked so peaceful in its dark blue colorful hue. The golden last rays was a gift delivered to the beholders by Angels and winds so sweetly staining the skin like a lover's kiss. The horizon itself looked as if it was a golden river of gleaming gold sewing itself in between the canopy of the dark twilight where the first few stars appeared twinkling like diamonds connecting it to the deep blue of the calm ocean paradise. In the distance, lines of the golden orbs last rays of tapered light splayed out, flowing through the cracks in the clouds like heaven was the one sewing the twilight to the waters with golden thread as the waters danced with sparkles, reflections from the light but it looked as if the angels made an accident while sewing the two together, knocking some stars out of the sky and making them shimmer and shine on the Water's surface.
It was beautiful.
She was so thankful for the beautiful sight.
"If I can't have you, then I'll make sure no beast can either."
The cruelty and coldness of one's blade could never compare to the cruelty and coldness of one's heart and soul. Two bodies whom shared the beautiful sight fading from the blackened vision clouding her brain. A slide of cold metal and leakage of red stumbled, tumbled down in place of the pretty vision before them. Sweet salty air stained by copper as she stood. The cold cruel blade retreating from within her form as she stood there. The silence beckoning eyes of f/c to calmly turn. The sight of greed, dark with want toring away from the light embracing the hell within. Not but a whisper parted from her lips, the maw heavy swirling with blurs.
"who..is the true monster here, Akira Henya?"
A distant woman's scream filled the void tilted sideways as the world tilted back and you were swallowed up by the coldness of the ocean blue and wrapped up in the warm embrace of lovers concerned. Catching her as world went black and echoes of sorrowful wails echoed throughout the voided night. The waves reverberating off the sky and cascading deep, deep into the Water's depths the waves carrying them further and further under the surface and muffled the unanswered sorrows of agony's past.
And two eyes of magenta stained red by wrath and blood opened wide.
"Y/N?! Y/N?!"
One who such went by such a name did not stir from the foreboding deadly slumber slipped into as shadows blurred and darkness swallowed them up. Sobs. Wails. Pleads. Cries. Prayers. It made not a difference to the one who had blood on his hands, staring down at the scene before him like a sick artist admiring the picture he painted into reality.
''That's right. Scream. It won't do a bit of good in the end!"
Hisses bore his fate as flames flared up at the one who would dare paint such a cruel thought into real form.
"HA! You think you're intimidating by just hissing at me like a fucking wet cat?! You're lucky you're in the bloody water otherwise you would've been gutted next like just another tuna!"
Anger. Wrath. Blood. Passion. And L O V E. All the red represents.
"Cry all you'd like..At the end of the day, no one is going to give a hell."
Oh how wrong he was. Someone did answer the cry of help.
And ironically hell had found him.
A violent rippling, rippling through the water like unholy blades through thin paper. A white ghost within the darkness rising amongst the dead and decayed ships and distorting the star covered water shining bright. It seemed as if even the great sun was scared of this beast as it hid behind the horizon and disappeared allowing night to cover it's unholy speed through the dark void and towards the docks above-
C R A S H-!!!
Feet shook as the old dock swayed, soon loosing his footing and the man found himself falling backwards onto his backside. Looking at the horror beyond that penetrated his sights. Splinters went flying. Wood cracked and flew in all directions cascading down into the water like unholy rain as something from below began pounding up and destroying E A C H  A N D  E V E R Y  P L A N K  O F  W O O D. Kyojuro out of instinct turned away shielding the one in his arms and the screaming women as droplets and wood bounced off his shoulders. The monster of ghost white passing by as a mighty tail passed them forcing the unholy rain to continue as it smashed and destroyed it's way up towards the human man. Bloodthirsty and itching for one thing
TO ENACT VENGEANCE FOR HUMAN GREED.
Crashing, crunching, destroying ever closer to the human and then there was a splash. The iron like grip from the waves ceased him and he took a deep gulp of suffocation. The world around him wet and without any solid object to free him from the watery depths grip. Dark..Why was everything so dark?! He kicked out and flailed for nothing as the void never loosened it's grip on his air drained body. The menagerie of a shattered moon waved goodbye from the shattered waves of the seas rippling surface as he sunk deeper and deeper into the blackened abyss below that welcomed him in it's cold embrace. It's hands slowly wrapping around his body and killing him into that dangerous lullaby of death. It was .quiet. Almost even peaceful like as he drifted slowly down, down, down. He felt like falling asleep with his eye lids getting heavy. Until his flailing hand caught onto a floating board and he was able to pull himself up, breaching the surface, and gasping a breath of that holy air as he coughed out the void's water and laid himself upon the floating wood being his savior. Deep heavy breaths followed breathing in and out panting and coughing as panicked eyes eyes darted around but the darkness and waves enveloped any trace of the monster, and all others had disappeared. Nothing but shattered wood and darkness being his company.
"You know ... There's five stages of grief."
His form jumped against the board he floated upon eyes widening.
"Denial."
Panicked eyes darted around but he nothing within the darkness and waves or amongst the wreckage.
"Anger."
The voice sounded ethereal other worldly. A ghost ebbing closer and closer from the depths.
"Bargaining."
The voice was blurred. Coming from everywhere and nowhere at once. Sounding so close yet so far away all at once.
"Depression."
Heart beats picked up. Swiveling his head this way and that as danger, panic, and fear set in with the unsettling doom ever approaching.
"And acceptance...But I would like to add to add one more step to that."
The water was silent. Nothing but the sloshing of his body sounding out as he desperately searched for the ghost that wasn't there but yet was at the same time. Until the hotness of something's breath wafted over his ear from behind as a voice whispered nothing but a word in his ear.
"R E V E N G E."
A man's shriek pierced the night and carried over the waves and forest before quiet settled once more.

You raised Good cop Bad cop twin sex
I raise good cop bad cop tako
but its just his tentacles
Sincerely,
Mer Eggs Anon
Ps. I am not dead, just been stalking and vibing lol
MER EGGS!!! HIIII!! :D I hope you’ve been well!!
Omg good cop, bad cop tako…….. Azul who speaks so sweetly to you while his tentacles are bullying all of those sensitive spots on you. >_< squeezing and winding, keeping you perfectly trapped. It’s hard to focus on all of them at once when there are so many and they’re all doing different things, but each is drawing the filthiest of moans from you and Azul looks so pleased. He tells you you’re very beautiful like this, restrained and at his mercy, and he pets your cheek so fondly. Yet his sweet words and actions don’t align with the obscene things his tentacles are doing to you.
Perhaps he even talks about things unrelated to sex. Maybe he mentions how excited he is to share a future with you. After all, you signed your life away and the contract stipulates you shall be wed once the both of you graduate. It feels so far away and yet so close at the same time. He awaits that day impatiently. Azul details all of his dreams for married life while you’re falling apart on the tentacle that’s been fucking into you for what feels like an eternity. He babbles on and on about his hopes for children and domestic bliss and a successful business so that you and the children will want for nothing. You’re only half-listening, but that’s okay.
One day you’ll know.

How Athena and Hephaestus Became Parents
So I was very inspired by @mer-acle's ideas and @disappointed-time-traveller-time-traveller's wonderful drawing for a twist related to their son…
I really like the idea of Hephaestus and Athena being forced to get married even though neither of them wanted to but they were on friendly terms so life went on somehow. Until the older gods pressured Olympus to grow. There were still few gods, Zeus wanted to have a grandchild after his oldest children and Athena didn't want to hear about anything related to pregnancy. Heph accepted it but gods don't suffer from infertility, they couldn't pretend that they were trying and nothing worked.
At some point, Athena, in an act of desperation, started looking for a way to get pregnant but without intimacy. She didn't know how Hera did it but at the same time she couldn't ask her about this because it would definitely reach her father. Instead, she decided to seek help from the roots, until she finally managed to listen to Gaia herself. She assured her of a way to have a child even without pregnancy and Athena made her first mistake, she made a decision without thinking it through.
Trying to do what Gaia said was hard because it was very awkward for both of them. Many attempts ended with Athena who was hesitating or moving but in the end she thought they would succeed but as soon as Hephaestus did his part, she quivered in panic and his fluid landed on her thigh. He offered her the material cloth so she quickly wiped off her leg and threw the cloth on the ground, close to tears she apologized for not being able to do one thing. Athena apologized.
But before Hephastus could say anything the earth shook and Gaia spoke, saying that if someone wanted to cheat the laws of nature she would help them, but also in an unnatural way for a god. She gave them a son but the punishment for parenting without marital love was his time with them, that was supposed to end. He was mortal and they realized what they had done knowing that in a moment they would bury their own child.
This marriage did not last long but even Hera was not angry when her grandson's grave was wet with tears.
Aaaa ok, so of course there are stories in which Erichthonius was half a man half a snake BUT there are also those when he was a boy with whom there were simply two snakes at his side. And of course this time let him be born WITH THE CONSENT OF BOTH PARTIES!

I’m slowly chipping away at writing an empires smp s1 fic full of worldbuilding and politics and whatnot, I might just dump a lot of thoughts about it here and hope it makes sense
The mer people (Ocean Empire Codlands) don’t have the same values of modesty and what counts as modesty as more “human” people do due to the fact that they are equally aquatic and land based creatures. The structure of mer people’s bodies changes significantly based on if they’re in water or on land which makes finding clothes that work well and don’t get in the way both on land and in the water difficult. Thats partially led to a culture where covering up genitalia isn’t important (also bc it’s different than humans). But mer still have stuff that they consider modest or not. Modest in this sense not being “oh, you’re not covering up this thing and therefore you’re horrible” but “this is the cultural expectation of growing up as a mer in the Ocean Empire/Codlands/any group of mer”
This is based off the codhead: mer cover their faces when among non-mer. Their leaders (Lizzie and Jimmy) cover their face all the time unless they’re in private with close family/friends. These face coverings are usually veils but masks are also common. Most facial coverings cover the mer’s full face, starting at/above the hairline and stopping below the jaw. However, in recent years it’s a bit more common for there to be half facial coverings either from above hairline to the nose (covering the eyes) or from the nose to below the jaw (covering the mouth). Most facial coverings don’t cover the ears but instead are pinned (in the case of veils) to the hair just above the ear to make sure it doesn’t come loose around the eyes. There are some more old fashioned mer who were full face veils that end around the collarbone or even lower. Something like that is especially common in elders and healers/witches. This is because covering the face is seen as a way to identify oneself as a child of the Depths (bc in this world the Depths, the god of the ocean, created all mer and ocean life). Lizzie wears longer veils that come from her crown and reach to her collarbone area. She also pins it so it covers her ears. Jimmy would wear either a shorter veil (hairline to jaw) or a mask, the mask more often when traveling outside the Codlands. The veil/mask isn’t a thing that’s passed down from Codfather to Codfather. Each Codfather has their own mask/veil that’s created for them.
Elves don’t experience gender in the same way as humans do so there’s a lot more genders and pronouns in the Rivendell Empire. Der Rivendell is the capital. The title of lord or lady is given according to what side of the empire someone from nobility is from and holds land/power. It’s not lord=man and lady=woman but lord=west and lady=east. Obviously, the people of Rivendell have their own language so titles that seem clunky in English would be simplified/one word in Elven. I’m not good enough at language to create an entire multiple languages for this rewrite but…
Aeor-blessed Emperor/Empress would likely only be one word in Elven and is how the Emperor/Empress is always addressed or spoken about. Aeor-blessed Crowned Prince/Princess is the same way. The advisors to the emperor/empress have the title “Lord/Lady Advisor” which, in Elven, would probably be the word for Lord or Lady and a prefix related to their Elven word for honored and Elven word for advisor so if you did a word for word translation it would be “honorable-advisor Lord/Lady” but if you translated for meaning/intent then it would be “Lord/Lady Advisor”
The position of advisor is one that is chosen and not handed down though Emperors/Empresses usually keep the same council as their predecessors at least for a while.
Elves also don’t care that much about sexuality and the gender of person that someone married unless it’s the heir of something (crowned prince/princess, heir of a noble) bc there’s the expectation that the heir should have a child to continue the noble house.
also like, the Rivendell Empire is an empire that is expanding, it’s known for its strong military. That’s why House Blossom wants the Rivendell Empire to stay in the House Blossom Alliance to keep the Empire’s spread to the other side of the mountains and not start war within the 12 empires
But also random things about elves is that their hair turns gold instead of grey with age and gold is also a color of marriage because of the idea that “I’m committed to you/our relationship until our hair turns gold with age” which signifies forever because elves have longer life spans then humans but a couple hundred years.
Black is still the color of morning but there’s a lot of steps of morning depending on how close to the deceased someone is. For example if you were the spouse of the person who died the stages of morning are for now (not looking at how long it would last bc I’m not worrying about math right now):
1. Wearing full black and isolation except for friends and family (this is when the funeral would happen)
2. Full black but period of isolation has ended though there’s the expectation that you’re not going to go out of parties or what not
3. No longer in full black but wearing muted colors usually with a sheer/lace black fabric over usual clothes
It’s generally not expected that someone remarried again after the death of a spouse
Marriage rings are expected but, if the family is wealthy enough, entire new sets of jewelry (usually with a similar theme) are made for the couple as wedding gifts to each other. The more elaborate the jewelry the wealthier the family is. If spouse A dies then spouse B wears A’s wedding ring on a necklace while continuing to wear their own ring on their hand. When B dies both wedding rings will be buried with them interlocking on a necklace. A would be buried with another piece/pieces of jewelry from their wedding set (usually their favorite piece). Wedding gift jewelry can be passed down in family as wedding gifts from parents/grandparents to children but a child would never get their parent/grandparent’s wedding ring
I imagine that the mer don’t wear a lot of bracelets and necklaces and the like bc there’s too much risk of stuff getting tangled. But they have more piercings, especially if they have fins along their arms/legs, think corset piercings along their arm but in the raised cartilage of the fin so it’s the same as piercing your ear. Most elves will only wear a wedding ring and, sometimes depending on who they are, a ring with their family’s crest/seal on it. While they will pierce their ears it’s also not as common to have multiple ear piercings. The most common jewelry for elves is necklaces, broaches/pins for clothing, and hair pins/chains/sticks and other head pieces

Medieval Women Week || Favorite woman writer ↬ Marie de France
Who was this versatile author, the first woman of her times to have written successfully in the vernacular? She was definitely not Marie de Champagne, daughter of Eleanor of Aquitaine and patroness of Chrétien de Troyes, as Winkler suggested. A tempting, but by no means fully convincing, identification is with Marie, abbess of Shaftesbury in Dorset, illegitimate daughter of Geoffrey Plantagenet and half-sister to Henry II. … A claim has been made, albeit somewhat thin, for Mary, abbess of Reading. This abbey was well known as a centre of literary activity and had in its possession the Harley manuscript containing, as we have seen, both the Fables and the Lais. There is no clear-cut reason why either work could not have been written by an abbess or a nun, and there is some slight evidence of experience of monastic life in Le Fresne, Yonec and Eliduc. But the prominence of the motif of adultery in the Lais (see also fables 44 and 45), Marie’s attitude towards the dissolution of marriage in Le Fresne and Eliduc, and her evident interest in the chivalric life suggest that these love poems were not written by someone steeped in ecclesiastical ideology. … Marie de France was certainly an educated lady of good family, who knew Latin well enough to have contemplated translating a Latin work into French (Lais, Prologue, vv. 28–32) and to have done so in the case of the Espurgatoire. She was obviously a good linguist and acquired a sound knowledge of English before translating the fables. She was also fully conversant with the life and aspirations of the nobility of her time. Her education could well have been obtained in a convent and her knowledge of court life from her upbringing and personal experiences in England. Was she Marie, the eighth child of Waleran de Meulan (also called Waleran de Beaumont), a member of one of the greatest of the Norman houses? Waleran’s fief was in the French Vexin, which would tally with Marie’s statement that she comes from France and explain her evident local knowledge of the town of Pitres in the Norman Vexin… Marie de Meulan married Hugh Talbot, baron of Cleuville, owner of lands in Herefordshire and Buckinghamshire, as well as in Normandy, and a member of a family prominent in several English counties including Devonshire, Gloucestershire and Kent. Marie’s father is an interesting figure – a loyal and courageous soldier, but also a well-educated man who may have written Latin verse. Moreover, several of the manuscripts of the Historia Regum Britanniae of Geoffrey of Monmouth are dedicated to him. It is tempting to think that his daughter may have known William of Gloucester, a possible Count William, as his father was also one of Geoffrey’s dedicatees. Marie de Meulan may, however, have been too young to be Marie de France, as her birth seems to date from the 1140s, perhaps as late as 1150. The most recent identification has been as Marie, countess of Boulogne after 1154, daughter of Stephen of Blois (King of England, 1135–54) and of Matilda of Boulogne. Educated in a convent, Marie de Boulogne became abbess of Romsey in Hampshire, but was removed from her convent by Henry II, who wanted to keep Boulogne in his sway. She was married off to Matthew of Flanders and thus became the sister-in-law of Hervé II, son of Guiomar of Léon... Eventually, at some time between 1168 and 1180, Marie de Boulogne returned to a convent, perhaps that of Sainte Austreberthe at Montreuil-sur-Mer in her own county. Her Count William could have been William of Mandeville, a crusade companion of Philip of Flanders, her husband’s brother. The ‘noble king’ would probably have been the Young King, as Philip and Matthew, originally supporters of Henry II, changed sides in 1173. Marie herself may have already been a supporter of the Young King, as in 1168 she sent Louis clandestine information about the secret negotiations between Henry and the Emperor Frederick. — The Lais of Marie de France translated with an introduction by Glyn S. Burgess and Keith Busby

Tropical-Rouge Pretty Cure! Next Gen: The La Mer Family
I already sort of show a demo preview of this with Asa, but he's my next gen au for Tropical-Rouge Pretty Cure! Including my adult designs for Manatsu and Laura, and their daughter Asagao!
Here's some more facts about my au!:
Manatsu and Laura started dating back in their second year of high school (Laura started attending school again once she remembered Manatsu and the rest of the girls, while continuing her queen studies), Manatsu confessed first~
They got married when they were both 24. They got married in Grand Ocean with the help of the previous Mermaid Queen. Their wedding also counted as Laura's coronation as the new queen of Grand Ocean (this also technically made Manatsu queen consort)
Manatsu took Laura's last name
Asa was born when both Manatsu and Laura were 26. Asa is biologically both Manatsu's and Laura's, she was conceived with the help of the past Mermaid queen. Manatsu was the one that carried Asa (in my au, mermaids don't have most, if not any, reproductive organs)
Asa is currently the only known mermaid to be both biologically half human and half mermaid.
When Asa gets older, she eventually becomes a pretty cure herself.

ribbon - steve harrington
Tumblr media
day 4 of leia's christmas tree farm
cw max has a tiny accident. er/hospital setting. one use of y/n. grey!reader (she is mer’s sister, it can be half sister too). steve calls max his sister. they all moved to seattle for some reason
a/n i had a very different idea for this but it didn’t work out, i hope you like this i came up with at the very last minute
Tumblr media
“What do we have here?” Doctor Torres approaches Max, she whines as the pain in her arm only gets worse. “A broken wrist, how did this happen?”
“An accident on the sleigh ride,” Steve says, “Although I’m sure she was just being rebellious”
“I told you I had to beat Mike” Max groans, feeling the doctor’s hands on her as a resident comes back with an X-ray sheet.
The resident is all glammed up. Red lips, red shoes. The lab coat covered her black dress and most of her figure. She looks absolutely beautiful and Steve can feel himself drooling over her.
The thing that makes his knees buckle, is the big red ribbon on her head.
“Looks half fine, just broken. I’ll get someone to put a cast on you and you are free to go” She smiles at Max, who is only focused on her pain going away soon or she’ll start complaining again.
“I can do it!” you say, your sweet voice piercing Steve’s ears.
“But we have to go to our party!”
“I’ll tell Mer to take me, she’s still in surgery,” you say, approaching the patient’s chart to check some things before calling an intern to help. “I will do this quickly, Max. Don’t worry”
As you leave to get all prepared, one of your interns comes to Max’s room. Waiting for you to help the little girl as soon as possible.
“Hey,” Steve calls the intern. “What’s the pretty doctor’s name? The one with the red ribbon?”
“Can you not? I'm working!” he says, slightly annoyed.
"Yeah, Steve. Keep it in your pants" Max says, making fun of Steve's flushed face.
You come back to the room, while a nurse helps you with everything you need to get Max a cast.
“Are you close relatives with the patient?” you ask Steve, looking at him. His eyes get lost in yours, on how they shine under these big and creepy hospital lights.
“Yeah, I’m her brother”
“Alright, then you can stay and fill this form for me please” Steve takes the chart out of your hands and you help Max to sit down. You start teaching your intern and guiding him through the process.
Steve can only get lost on you. The way every one of your words comes out so soft as your cherry-colored lips move. He glanced at your chest, his cheeks go red when his eyes make contact with your cleavage. He looks away, this is not the place for that, he says to himself.
The blue disposable gloves cover your manicured hands but he sees your gold, delicate bracelet fall from your wrist. He makes a mental note not to mention it until you’re done, Max comes first rather than some casual flirt.
“We are done! How are you feeling?”
“I feel better, thank you,” Max says, a smile finally showing on her face. You mirror her excitement and relief, with a big smile on your face too.
And Steve, he wants to fall on his knees and ask you to marry him right now. He notices how you talk to your intern, to the nurses, and to other people walking by. Your bubbly personality has him captive, he just stares and stares until you are gone.
As the intern takes the chart from Steve's hands and disappears he gets lost in his thoughts.
“Steve! Look, her bracelet” Max screams, calling for the older boy as she gets up. And finds your gold bracelet on the floor “Go get her, something good has to come out of this” she encourages him. Steve runs away from the ER as fast as he can. Looking for the big red ribbon on your head.
“Hey, you okay? Do you need something?” A doctor, much taller and older than him stops him on his way.
“I’m okay i just-“ he tries to ease his breath “Do you know the doctor with the red ribbon? I think she is a resident here”
“Oh, little Grey?” The man makes fun of him, looking how desperate he looks. Steve only wants to know your name, maybe get introduced to you, damn. Why is this so difficult?
“Grey! Yeah, I think” he murmurs, looking around for you. “So you know her”
“I do, I'm pretty close with her sister. Do you need anything from her?“ He looks at Steve and laughs again. He doesn’t look worried or sick, he looks like he just got up on a cloud.
“I just want to get her this” he holds the piece of gold in his hand “It fell when she was taking care of my sister”
“Oh! The ladies are in a rush today, they have Christmas ladies’ night” Steve’s face is pale, from being in love to running for the pretty girl in a space of minutes. He was having a normal day and then all turned upside down “But I'm sure you can catch them in the parking lot, I don't know. I hope you do”
He nods, getting ready to run again. “Thank you…”
“Derek, Derek Shepherd”
“I’m Steve Harrington. I owe you one!” his voice echoes in the empty hallway, He runs towards the stairs because the elevator would take so much time.
You got this, all those years of basketball should work now. But they don’t, Steve is slightly older and slower. As much as he hates to admit. But he makes his way to the parking lot, searching for your ribbon again, and when he finds it, he finds you. His heart skips a beat.
“Hey! You were with my sister earlier I just wanted to give you this” Steve says as you turn to face him, blushing as your eyes meet his.
“Oh! you are so kind, thank you so much” You smile. “My sister gave it to me, if I were to lose it I swear she’d kill me!”
“Looks like I saved your life today, you were so kind to Max- my sister. I’m the one who should thank you” he glances at your hand while carefully holding your bracelet between his fingers, a dash of anticipation in his eyes.
“Don’t thank me. It’s part of my job and I love to help”
"Can I?"
"Please"
You get closer to him, and he can feel his hands shake. Your scent invades his nose, soft remnants of your vanilla perfume and a dash of your lavender body wash. He clasps the bracelet around your wrist, the touch of his fingers against your skin is velvety. He pauses for a moment, savoring the quick seconds close to you.
“And what you just did was so kind, i hope this pays up” You leave a peck on his cheek, it’s soft just like he imagined. But it only makes him yearn for more.
“I’m Steve, by the way,” he says, offering you a hand for you to shake it.
“I’m y/n, nice to meet you”
“Can I, uhm. Can I see you again? Some time?” he looks at the way your cheeks are also flushed, just like his. “If you want, of course”
“Yes. Yes, I would like that”
“Tomorrow around eight sounds good?” he asks, smiling proudly as his charm seems to work.
“I actually can’t, I have surgery at six and I'm not sure if I’ll make it”
“I can just come by at eight and wait for you, I can get you every oversized candy bar you want from the vending machine”
You giggle, covering your face with your hand and trying to hide your rosy cheek. Everything you do is so adorable.
“Sure, only if you let me get you a coffee after”
He nods, looking at you. He can’t keep his eyes away from you. “I’m new in the city so I’ll accept the coffee and maybe a tour?”
“A night tour, of course!”
Lucky, lucky Steve.
“I’ll see you tomorrow then, and you look pretty by the way”
“Thank you, I’ll see you tomorrow Steve”
You leave another peck on his cheek, this time the opposite one. He waves his hand as you meet your friends to leave for dinner.
When Steve gets to his apartment with Max by his side, he forgets everyone was waiting for him. But he returns home proud, looking like a winner while everyone asks and comments about the lipstick stains on his cheeks.  He looks at himself in the mirror, the way the tint of your red lipstick left a mark on either side of his face. He smiles, knowing that he can get them off and tomorrow he will get home with new ones. He is sure of it.

Crewel reaction of being a grandpa when his daughter married and have kids with Idia ( because there high chance the babies will inherit his blue flame hair ), Jack ( because tinny wolf ears and tails ), Azul ( be interesting because would that mean the kids are half mer people? ), Carter and Trey?

Crewel’s Reaction To Your Children | Crewel Daughter
How would he react? The same as he would if you had children with a dragon: with overwhelming love. No matter what your kid ends up inheriting he loves them all the same. No doubt he’s making underhanded comments about their father but he could care less. They are an extension of you and even if they looked like their father, he didn’t watch you go through your whole pregnancy to reject the little bundle you worked so hard on. The only one that might have something to say about that would be Crewel’s father but I’m sure you know how that went.

Crewel who was a young dad, and blamed himself that his little one disappeared for years (in my head he was about 18 when Yuu was born) so when he sees them again, his heart stops and he can just… stare.
I kinda want them to be half-mer, cause that feels very Crewel but I’m not totally sold.
He had Yuu while he was still in NRC. He promised to marry Yuu's mother, which he did, only for Yuu to go missing and then lose his wife a year later.
Or
Yuu's mother just dumped them on Crewel and leaves, so he had to raise Yuu alone.
If Yuu is half mer, they're a beakfish (Ironic)
