After dani left amity to travel the world, she thought the best way would be to join a traveling circus.

Haley’s Circus

So she joins the performers as a trapeze artist (she used her flight to help her)

Very quickly, the Graysons end up taking her under their wings, and help her with her stunts. Dick was 7 when she joined their little family.

Dick was eight when he watched her die.

Dani was a quicker learner, so on that fateful day, she went up in the platform with John and Mary and fell to her death 20 seconds later.

But halfas never truly die, do they?

She wakes up in a body bag and phases out with invisible.

After some light research, she finds out that Dick is being fostered by a Billionaire and decides that Dick would be safer with Wayne than with her, so she leaves, coming back to check in him every birthday and death day of his parents.

In the meantime, Dani took a detour to the Infinite Realms and found John and Mary, explained who she really was and updated them on Dick regularly.

Dick never mentioned her to anyone, and Bruce never brought her up and Dick went the next 15 years without seeing Dani, and eventually, she became a distant memory until he caught a glimpse of her while on a mission with his family.

Dani was now around 28, and the GIW had finally caught up to her. Just when she thought she was about to die, the Agent got body slammed by Nightwing, a confused Red Hood and Red Robin following him.

Dick Grayson grew up in a circus. I'm assuming like most circuses, there's at least one Clown. Baby Dickie loved the Clown at Haley's. Adult Dick not so much.

As like anyone who spent prolonged time in Gothan, he's now scared/alarmed by Clowns and being a trained vigilante, he also typically favours fight over flight.

It is so, so important to me that people understand that Tim didn't figure out the bats because Dick was a "Show off". Like yes, Dick Grayson is the most flamboyant, dramatic ass man you will ever meet.

But the quadruple somersault? There's no way that was because dick was just showing off. Because you're telling me Bruce Wayne, who's so committed to hiding his identity that he literally acts like a completely different person out of the mask in public just to ward suspicion, would miss the fact that Robin regularly uses the flying Grayson's trademark move? There's literally no way.

In the comics we see Tim explain his deductive process to Dick and Alfred and they're both surprised impressed whatever. We don't see him explain it to Bruce. I think Bruce would be surprised and shocked that a 9 year old was able to put the pieces together but I don't think he'd be surprised that the quadruple somersault gave it away.

So if Bruce was possibly aware of such an obvious give away, why let it continue?

I'll tell you why.

It really comes down to the physics

So Dick was 9 when he started out right? That means the most he'd have likely weighed was 43kgs or roughly 95lbs in freedom units.

But Dick and both of his parents are gymnasts who tend to be smaller. So he was likely less than that.

In physics, rotating objects build up angular momentum (this is how bikes stay up right for example). The more rotation, the more momentum. And objects with less mass build up that momentum much faster than those that are heavier.

Robin constantly has to fight people who are nearly 3 times his size. I teach 8 year olds, they're tiny. A quadruple somersault for a small boy that weighs less than a hundred pounds is a brutal weapon. Especially if you add in the acceleration from gravity as he drops in from above.

And I can guarantee you this logic tracks because Dick literally utilizes this idea, without the somersault, in the 2009 teen titans cartoon.

Yeah, that's right. We're talking about the infamous knee drop.

Like it is borderline savage. Add in a quadruple somersault and the resulting force is nearly fatal. It's likely the main reason Batman would ever allow him to do it with the cape on.

Also, Dick landing feet first on the penguin in the first image probably gave the guy severe back issues

The circus knows that Dick became Robin and then Nightwing.

Listen they know that kid! They know how he operates. They were worried at first but before they left they talked to Dick and Dick was absolutely ecstatic so they decided to keep their mouths shut.

Like they let him fly on the trapeze, they probably wouldn’t have blinked at him being a vigilante.

They make stops at Bludhaven now to say hi and read up on his pursuits.

They always knew he was meant for the center stage.

I love the hc that if Danny stays in one position for too long, his body starts to lock up, just like rigor mortis. And with that, I love the idea of Danny basically becoming a body contortionist. It freaks people out and I think it would add to the Danny Fenton is the Local Cryptid first, not phantom.

Is Zitka, Dick’s stuffed Elephant that is in a lot of Fanfic, fanon or canon?

I’m hoping it’s canon but I still love her if she wasn’t.

I love when she goes from one sibling to the next and then back to Dick’s bed in the Manor waiting until she’s needed again. Or when even Bruce uses her, which I swear I read a fic like that but it just might be my headcanon. Alfred does also but no one knows for certain.

It’s a right of passage in a way to cuddle Zitka. You have your own stuffed animals but Zitka is always there, waiting to be used. She’s the best kept secret that isn’t a secret.
