Getting to meet them was amazing, both are incredibly characters and the relasionship they have is incredibly interesting and cute <333

Hakubo and Sumire have being together since she was just a kid, and even when she can seem kind and sweet Hakubo constantly has to clean the mess Sumire always causes, over the time both have grow to care a lot for the other and make a greap team for whatever Sumire is up to

It is quite weird for anyone in the village to get close to Sumire due her role, people think that she is just a pest or can even mistreat her, so the key for Sumire to catch feelings for you is that you are diferent from anyone else. You have always being kind and treat her as an equal, even when you know her role and fate that have never stopped you from trying to befriend her, wich end up leading Sumire to want more, dragging you around with her to whatever she is up to, getting out of her way just to be able to hang out with you

Sumire is well aware of her position but also of how indispensable she is for the village, wich lead her to do what she wants when she want it, so she has no problem on monopolize your time. It didn't take her much time for her obsession to grow nor underestand her feelings, finding them quite funny but completely willing to just give in her obsession and love and find a way to proclaim you as hers

For Hakubo it took more time, Sumire didn't have troubles to leave him behind to be with you at first, so he had a complicated relasionship with you at first, but over time, as Sumire's obsession grow you were dragged to him too, so his obsession grew after Sumire's and for him it was slowly. Hakubo wasn't able to understand his feelings, he just knew that he wanted you close and be able to protect you, but Sumire knew, she was able to tell that Hakubo was growing to love you too, and not just that but it was the same intense feelings she has

Sumire find hilarious Hakubo's feeling, and even more that he is still unawere, she doesn't really mind it, she knows Hakubo is at her side and, aside from you, he is the only one that truly deserve anything good in this village, so she wouldn't mind much sharing you with him, however Sumire won't make things so easy for him, if Hakubo won't accept his feeling then he doesn't deserve your attention. Sumire has a lot of fun teasing Hakubo about his own ignorance, purposely taking you away from him or being clearly affectionate to you, wanting to make Hakubo as jealous as posible just to mess with him

It isn't until Hakubo runs out of patient that he finally realice his feeling for you, confronting Sumire and telling her that he will do what he has to do to make sure you are safe and at his side, but Sumire doesn't want to fight him, so (after laughing at him) she will explain that she was just messing with him, she doesn't mind his feelings, both can share you and make sure you are safe at their side. Sumire makes his way with her words to convince Hakubo that the only right option is to take you with them, keeping you as close as posible since people of this village doesn't even deserve to be in your presence

Sumire and Hakubo are a really good team, they work together really well, but, even if Hakubo wouldn't mind much you interacting with others Sumire doesn't like it, so is thanks to her that you are slowly insolated, taking you away from everyone else, so slowly that you didn't even noticed it

Both are quite loving, Sumire is incredibly affectionate and touchy, going from complimenting you to hold you in her arms, being all playful with you and touching you here and there, in the contrary Hakubo limits himself to be close to you and watch you two since he doesn't really know what to do or how to react to his own feelings, thats with you (and when you willingly accept their presence and affection) because aside form you everyone else is treaten coldly and with a fake kindness, with clear but indirect threatens of not even thinking on getting between what all of you have

As well, Sumire and Hakubo are incredibly caring, always making sure you are safe at their side and taking care of any need or even wounds you have, and since Sumire still does what she wants you are always dragged to her little adventures, so you'll never lack of fun in your life neither. If you accept to give up and follow what they ask you your life can become like a beautiful dream, just close your eyes and follow their lead blindly

Sumire tries really hard to win your blind trust as soon as posible because she still has to make a plan to avoid her terrible fate with Hakubo and she wants to make sure that, no matter what they do, at the end, you will not fear them nor try to run away (not that they will let it happen, but they will prefer to avoid hurting you)

I just need to say this first so that I don’t lose followers and or mutuals possibly😽 This relationship is not toxic, neither party hurts the other or uses them. I will talk about some rather ‘unhealthy’ aspects of their relationship this does not mean I glorify and romanize unhealthy relationships, despite what I wrote an entire essay about. Please do not cancel me 😭😭 I just wanted to write about how complex their relationship is, because I find it comforting and it’s more entertaining to write about this than a picture perfect relationship, not all relationships are like that so why would I make one that I the creator found boring? that’s all. Reminder I have issues I like to project on my oc that may affect aspects of their relationship this does not mean it’s toxic, unhealthy does not mean bad unless it’s put into the right circumstances, it may be unhealthy = bad to you and if you feel that way after reading this…reread it again 😭 please do not be close minded AND I AM NOT A PROSHIPPER SO DO NOT ACT LIKE I AM FOR WRITING THIS. You’ll see this again in my writing because I am not risking it.

The best way I can possibly describe their relationship is co-dependency. Through and through that’s what I like to believe it is. For them it’s not healthy, But it’s not toxic?? No one is really hurt by this they simply just depend on each other a lot. I will go into this just so you understand how I kinda like to characterize Hades.

I believe despite this business man façade and dark brooding exterior of the god of death there’s a desperate man behind that. Just a man who wants to be worth something, a man who wants someone to lean on him, to feel dependable because that’s to feel…loved to him at least. Not to say he isn’t cunning, manipulative, or beyond harsh even, he absolutely is. But despite that all he wants is to be dependable and be recognized for it. Someone who doesn’t hate him, doesn’t fear him, doesn’t constantly nag him or assume the worst of him. He can be both and I believe he is

Think about it, in the movie and series he’s either hated or feared. He’s never recognized for his work, he never asked to rule the underworld either yet he still does is job to keep the balance because he ‘has to’

What repercussions does he face is he doesn’t?? He’s immortal and in the series and he can become giant so why do this job if he doesn’t want to? Because it’s the only power he has left? Probably why. but that slim of a reason as to why this man continues to rule over a place he hates? Another slim reason is maybe it’s because is inflates his ego because people depend on him to actually do his job, so despite himself he keeps going? It’s a mix of the two I believe along with the fact that probably can’t stand the idea of his older brother (who he hates) scolding him for not doing something that he knew for a fact he didn’t want to do either.

So a man who wants be depended on and recognized and praised for such running into a girl— and well also this same girl sacrificing herself in his name, dying and landing in the underworld basically at his feet— who craves to be cared for, to be healed by someone who she believes is higher than her….it’s like a fucking blessing is it not?? GUYS IMMA PUKE OH GOD

let’s get a little tiny bit poetic with this shit. Okay so I kinda based their relationship off Sumire and Hakubo from tbhk (or Well I am now. I noticed their relationship would fit into theirs pretty well— however it’s a bit flipped around. Hakubo and Rina are the dependent, Sumire and Hades are the dependee’s.) I say this because of what Sumire said in…?? I don’t remember the chapter 😭💀 but she said something lowkey kinda scary “I hold their fates in the palm of my own hand” ring a bell anyone🤨 maybe it’s just me but I think Hades gets a power trip off the fact that probably every living being on planted earth kinda depends on him to do his job or else…and he likes it. It’s unhealthy but name me something else more fitting than this?? They like to be depended on for different reasons but in the end they’re both satisfied with it. So they continue playing the roles they were given.

I am going to state this again so I do not get canceled and so ppl don’t think I’m weird. Unhealthy does not necessarily mean toxic, however the same cannot be said vice versa. Toxic relationships are always unhealthy but Unhealthy relationships are not always as such, though they can bloom into a Toxic one when put into certain circumstances. I’m going to say this now, because I know people will definitely take this the wrong way, Hades is not looking to manipulate Rina at all or in the state she’s in for any matter of reasons. He doesn’t want to hurt her, he doesn’t want to use her, he just kinda likes the fact that she is dependent on him for most things, that’s not the reason why he’s attracted to her, nor why he loves her, I wouldn’t even label it as a bonus really, he just likes that aspect of their relationship and even if that aspect of their relationship wasn’t present he wouldn’t go looking for it. He simply just likes to care for her not only because he loves her but because it makes him feel needed. This doesn’t mean she’s completely dependent on him for everything though, he doesn’t cook her dinner every day, he knows she’s capable of taking care of herself, he’s not going to baby her or treat her as lesser. Hades is bad but he is not a monster, and he absolutely does not hurt those he loves. He views them as equals and will treat them as such. Now that that’s said let’s talk more about how they sicken me to my stomach 😋 and how mental Rina is.

Now initially I made this ship more so for fun but this is one of those self/yumeships of mine that I care for more dearly than others. Atp I use this ship more for comfort as well for entertainment but more so for comfort. I used Rina as one of my self inserts who harbors more of my own mental processes as well as unhealthy issues. Not to say that others don’t but I like to express this side of myself through her, because I like to think…what would Hades say to such and such Yk?

Rina isn’t a healthy person, she’s not necessarily good or bad either— I mean she works for Hades as his assistant…that’s not good 💀😭 maybe for her it is but morally no. She’s a bit gray in that area. Point is she’s not as much of a Mary Sue as you’d expect her to be. She can be mean, she’s not exactly healthy mentally. She has issues and Hades knows this and will sort of teeter around them?? Idk if that’s the right word but he will try and help her if he knows she’s struggling regardless if she asks for help. He offers support in the best and probably only ways he knows how regardless if they’re actually helpful, I mean the man is anything but a therapist. He lends her his support, support in which Rina both craves and depends on as a means to continue living. The only reason she breathes is for his validation, the validation of the one she loves that she is enough, that she is doing the right thing, that’s she’s a good person because she herself does not believe that.

I know some people will say that Hades doesn’t need to be depended on. This is true. He doesn’t need it, but he really really wants it.

“Codependency in relationships revolves getting so invested with each other that you can function independently” this. Hades loves Rina a lot. You can all see why Rina is dependent on Hades— to be cared for by your lover is something beautiful isn’t it? As well as the fact that we all know Rina is very unhealthily invested with this man to the point of ending her life for him (BY THE WAY SHE DOES GET BETTER AND OBVIOUSLY SHES NOT ABSOLUTELY OBSESSED TO THE POINT OF HURTING OTHERS OR HERSELF NOR OUTWARDLY BEING WEIRD TO HADES OR MAKING HIM UNCOMFORTABLE. JUST TO NOTE BECAUSE I DO NOT WANT PPL JUDGING ME FOR THIS)

Hades attachment to Rina grows into something he’s not even sure he can put a finger on— and ngl I do not think Hades is able to function with the idea of getting broken up with at all— he’d actually just turn into a puddle of a man— or god in his case. And the idea of Rina— this girl who has also shown him love and care, who he feels like is his home if home was a person, the thought of her leaving him— or even worse dying…oh hell no. He has nightmares at the thought. The idea haunts him constantly. He will not and cannot function without her. The one person who didn’t see the absolute worst in him…just gone like that in a flash? Fuck no

Rina obviously cannot do that either, the thought that Hades may or may not toss her aside for someone else, relationship being one sided— or before they started their relationship, the fear that she was never an option to begin with, actually just makes her sick and not in a good way.

They depended on each other in different ways. Rina makes him feel loved, makes him feel powerful, not above her but just in general. She Makes him feel special and feel like he’s…safe. Safe from the harsh judgment of the world. Safe is a feeling he probably hasn’t gotten in a really really really long time. Hades makes her feel Safe, both internal and external, loved, and maybe not fixed but healed.

The fact that neither of them can stand the thought of being without the other, maybe not in a literal sense, but even so despite it only seeming like it’s only one party that needs the other when it is in fact both….disgustingly sweet in a way?? Idk but it sickens me in the best way possible

I mean in a way they’re each other’s safe place, how would you feel if yours was gone or even taken by another person before you even knew what it was so be safe?….that’s a pretty good way to put it into perspective
