Sharing a darling
[ HEADCANONS ] [ Hakubo & Sumire ]
[ Toilet Bound Hanako-kun / Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun ]
⚠️ Yandere, I don't support nor try to romanticize this toxic behaivor, is just for entretaiment
Getting to meet them was amazing, both are incredibly characters and the relasionship they have is incredibly interesting and cute <333
Hakubo and Sumire have being together since she was just a kid, and even when she can seem kind and sweet Hakubo constantly has to clean the mess Sumire always causes, over the time both have grow to care a lot for the other and make a greap team for whatever Sumire is up to
It is quite weird for anyone in the village to get close to Sumire due her role, people think that she is just a pest or can even mistreat her, so the key for Sumire to catch feelings for you is that you are diferent from anyone else. You have always being kind and treat her as an equal, even when you know her role and fate that have never stopped you from trying to befriend her, wich end up leading Sumire to want more, dragging you around with her to whatever she is up to, getting out of her way just to be able to hang out with you
Sumire is well aware of her position but also of how indispensable she is for the village, wich lead her to do what she wants when she want it, so she has no problem on monopolize your time. It didn't take her much time for her obsession to grow nor underestand her feelings, finding them quite funny but completely willing to just give in her obsession and love and find a way to proclaim you as hers
For Hakubo it took more time, Sumire didn't have troubles to leave him behind to be with you at first, so he had a complicated relasionship with you at first, but over time, as Sumire's obsession grow you were dragged to him too, so his obsession grew after Sumire's and for him it was slowly. Hakubo wasn't able to understand his feelings, he just knew that he wanted you close and be able to protect you, but Sumire knew, she was able to tell that Hakubo was growing to love you too, and not just that but it was the same intense feelings she has
Sumire find hilarious Hakubo's feeling, and even more that he is still unawere, she doesn't really mind it, she knows Hakubo is at her side and, aside from you, he is the only one that truly deserve anything good in this village, so she wouldn't mind much sharing you with him, however Sumire won't make things so easy for him, if Hakubo won't accept his feeling then he doesn't deserve your attention. Sumire has a lot of fun teasing Hakubo about his own ignorance, purposely taking you away from him or being clearly affectionate to you, wanting to make Hakubo as jealous as posible just to mess with him
It isn't until Hakubo runs out of patient that he finally realice his feeling for you, confronting Sumire and telling her that he will do what he has to do to make sure you are safe and at his side, but Sumire doesn't want to fight him, so (after laughing at him) she will explain that she was just messing with him, she doesn't mind his feelings, both can share you and make sure you are safe at their side. Sumire makes his way with her words to convince Hakubo that the only right option is to take you with them, keeping you as close as posible since people of this village doesn't even deserve to be in your presence
Sumire and Hakubo are a really good team, they work together really well, but, even if Hakubo wouldn't mind much you interacting with others Sumire doesn't like it, so is thanks to her that you are slowly insolated, taking you away from everyone else, so slowly that you didn't even noticed it
Both are quite loving, Sumire is incredibly affectionate and touchy, going from complimenting you to hold you in her arms, being all playful with you and touching you here and there, in the contrary Hakubo limits himself to be close to you and watch you two since he doesn't really know what to do or how to react to his own feelings, thats with you (and when you willingly accept their presence and affection) because aside form you everyone else is treaten coldly and with a fake kindness, with clear but indirect threatens of not even thinking on getting between what all of you have
As well, Sumire and Hakubo are incredibly caring, always making sure you are safe at their side and taking care of any need or even wounds you have, and since Sumire still does what she wants you are always dragged to her little adventures, so you'll never lack of fun in your life neither. If you accept to give up and follow what they ask you your life can become like a beautiful dream, just close your eyes and follow their lead blindly
Sumire tries really hard to win your blind trust as soon as posible because she still has to make a plan to avoid her terrible fate with Hakubo and she wants to make sure that, no matter what they do, at the end, you will not fear them nor try to run away (not that they will let it happen, but they will prefer to avoid hurting you)

I love the Tsukasa and Nene ship, and it seems that you do too and I would like to know why? Because this ship doesn't seem to be very popular what attracted you to it? And do you think it's possible for this ship to happen in the manga? (Unfortunately seen from my point of view I don't think so, because Tsukasa seems so innocent for this to happen, besides he only thinks about Hanako-kun 😢)
Popularity or suggestions from others has little to do with what I ship; I read the work, I imbibe the story, and I ship things based on what I am intrigued by, or perceive, in the story. I don't tend to engage much with fandom when reading something first time, so I had no idea what was 'big' or what wasn't (I didn't look at the fandom at all until the Far Shore arc, where I only really suddenly glimpsed it because I was looking for Sumire/Hakubo stuff & was blindsided by other's dislike of Hakubo). For instance, the popularity of Mitsuba and Kou, and ?? Aoi and Nene ?? completely and utterly baffled me, I wouldn't have guessed people really cared about any of that. I came out of it only caring about the twins x Nene-chan.
As it is, it intrigued me early on that Amane can compare Nene-chan to Tsukasa. They share a lot in common, centrally their love of Amane. In canon and in AUs, Tsukasa often acts like a sort of informant, giving Nene-chan information. The canon itself gives me the impression he places a lot of trust on her, and likes her. The story itself lead me to asking questions about it, and its viability only kept increasing as I read. I went into this expecting to only like HanaNene, but, AmaTsuka became the next obvious thing, but then weirdly the final piece, TsuNene, felt like it started taking shape...
Yes, I think it's possible for the ship to happen. I think it's the point of a lot of threads and ideas… I really do believe that. There are enough comics, illustrations, and commentary from JP fandom that make me feel I am not the only one seeing it, either. It's just the American fandom is helpless.... I call myself delusional but like any good delusional person, I believe what I think is true.
I guess after playing Narisokonai Snow White especially-- wherein you spend half the game exploring the love between the Princess x one twin, and then the OTHER half of the game unraveling the love the OTHER twin feels for the Princess-- yet ultimately relinquishes her to his brother, who he feels the Princess loves truly and deserves to be with-- I'm, really convinced that it's not just my delusion, but the sort of multilayered love story intrigue Iro-sensei likes to tell. We have much more to learn about Tsukasa!
I don't think Tsukasa "only thinks about Hanako-kun". I think these sentiments are incredibly sincere:
and intentionally loaded. You don't get a single vibe from TsuNene scenes? Aren't these vibes why anyone ships it? Well, I get major vibes.... It's not like....... Teru x Natsuhiko, or, some other frivolous idea invented out of thin air. lol
It could be his love for Amane that makes him love Nene-chan; the only other person who can understand what it is like, to wish to die for Amane.
For him to be willing to let Nene-chan in on so much, and share so many precious moments with Amane, I feel he has to admire her.
Iro-sensei likes complex romantic intrigue!!! I can't say enough ... Narisokonai Snow White was so about the interplay between the cast of twins + a girl they both like. The Princess and Rasphard were similarly ill-behaved children, something the Ambrose family notes in the text. The Princess, who is already in love with Estelio, sees similarity between the twin boys. We use established love between individuals to implicate love all across the ships. As the player of the game, you can cause either twin to yandere out on the princess based on what choices you make....
I believe in twin romance supremacy. I think it is why we have twins + a girl.
I think it is Iro-sensei's fetish lol
Now what I will say is your thought of "Tsukasa is too innocent for it to happen" is kind of real, but you should give more credit, then, to Nene-chan, who could also make it happen... :) ;) I mean look at her as it is, chasing down Hanako all running away from her every few chapters....!
Maybe Tsukasa doesn't understand everything he feels or everything that could be possible! Amane also thought he didn't value anything, much less her life. Nene-chan teaches the boys many things about love~
#avvy's JSHK#JSHK to me is like. you gotta do what you couldnt manage in Snow White. you were weak then you were a teenage writer in HS#YOU CAN DO IT NOW!!! YOU CAN WRITE 300 CHAPTERS OF TIMELINE SHENANIGANS!!!

(Sorry if this has already been answered) Do you think Hanako is turning out to become the final antagonist? He's already been one in the pp arc, and doesn't seem like he has any wish to repent his choices. How yandere do you think he will turn out to be?
*waves hand* no need to apologize! I don't believe I've answered a question directly about this.
I kinda see what you're getting at, and, I've even joked about Hanako being 'the antagonist', since we repeatedly need to contest him at the climax of things. In this way, he does function as our antagonist for contained arcs, outright opposing our mains. More fancifully, Hanako is purposefully drawn like a brooding evil vampire, with his big cape and lidded, disdainful expressions, as he stands on rooftops. Menacing aura to him and all that. It's fun it's flirty it's self-aware. (AidaIro-sensei know what they're doing with the framing.)
Though... to clarify, I wouldn't necessarily think about him as 'the final antagonist'... even if we're going to continue to struggle against him. Even as he acts unapologetically, and in some ways, 'gets worse'... It's just ah, not so cut and dry.
In truth, I don't believe that any one character is the antagonist of the entire manga. I feel like the greatest 'evil' is society at large, and compounding with that, we must untangle individual character's resulting complexes stemming from society. It's society that says, kaii and humans cannot co-exist, all kaii are dangerous monsters. This is upheld by the Minamoto clan, and systems in place at the school. There are harsh rules enforced that keep everyone in line. As the rules are upheld, it becomes ingrained as 'fact' in everyone's minds (human and kaii alike) regardless of evidence to the contrary. There's a defeatism from both sides, that they are opposing forces that can never understand one another.
For example, it's the members of the Minamoto clan that look at Hakubo and see nothing but an emotionless monster. Oni are regarded as evil and mindless, because of their harming and consuming humans. Yet, we then also see the human village act savagely, ordering people be slaughtered and keeping young girls as prisoner. Humans harm humans and perpetuate the harm of humans. We even get, from the perspective of Hakubo, the fact that living with them was the same as living with the oni.
(⬆ This is a really important line... I always feel like this is Iro-sensei speaking to us through a megaphone.)
But regardless of how living with oni and humans is the same, the narrative perpetuated is that humans are the ones that are empathetic and capable of kindness, while oni are not. There's no means for Hakubo to reflect on his own experiences as they are happening... Tragically, he cannot contest these claims that oni are monstrous, because the Minamoto make him act monstrously.
Even if he ultimately cared about Sumire, and their relationship was a mutual one, he can't perceive this, because he was taught that it wasn't possible. It's why his own regret mystifies him. Normally, someone could understand that they're filled with regrets, due to having been in love with someone, but he cannot. He cannot recognize his own humanity...
The tale of Hakubo and Sumire really puts a pin in how they could have been happy together, were it not for society around them. This relationship would be seen as abhorrent, and beyond that, they were designated into roles they were never supposed to break free of, regardless of how they felt. Sumire could have sobbed and kicked and screamed about being a kannagi, Hakubo could've resisted being a slave. They both would have been hunted down and punished, equally, for rebellion. It is an unforgiving world. Your greatest opposing force here is society, and then following that, are the issues stemming from it, since these wind up ingrained in Hakubo.
*waves hands around wildly as i try and thread everything* You see, Hakubo and Sumire are a contained narrative that lays out our core conflicts and themes of this manga. This is like, a blueprint for what's going on with Hanako. The world says to Hanako: you're dead, you're a murderer, you can't ever live a normal life. It's impossible. You can't escape. You'll always be a monster. You are, objectively, bad for Nene to be around. If you tried to resist, you'd be put in place.
And Hanako's been in this system for decades by now, so I think it's just gotten to him. So the part 2 of this all is, Hanako himself fully believes he cannot simply love Nene. To Hanako, the identity of 'Yugi Amane' is dead, and what's left behind is warped and inhuman. And much like Hakubo, it's hard to contest this idea, because there's evidence that Hanako is dangerous. He really DID kill Tsukasa. He doesn't think or feel things a normal 13 yo would. All the lying and underhandedness stacks onto this. Doesn't he continue proving this to be true? Endless cycle.
So I suppose, I would specifically say that our final antagonist is... Hanako's self-hatred and inability to express or accept himself... This is what's keeping him from having a happy ending with Nene (and Tsukasa! 💜) and this is what would be the most satisfying to overcome.
With that in mind, as for 'how yandere' I think he will be... Well, imo we all should be hoping that Hanako can go 'all the way' with this side of himself. Through all this tragedy, and even as Hanako acts out... we actually must wish for him to act out MORE. He's not acting out ENOUGH! He should fully lean into his yandere heart!!! He's Not Quite There Yet... but I hope he can get there, someday.
Y'know, it's funny, I do think at his core he doesn't feel sorry for the bad things he's done... Having relished(?) in the shinjuu , and not REALLY feeling sorry for PP/Severance... Perhaps, unreasonably justified about all these actions. Yet also, I wouldn't say he's totally unencumbered by guilt or regrets either? It's complicated. What's going on inside of him, is conflicting, and that's why you see him so troubled, acting in mysterious ways. Confusing ways? I don't entirely doubt the authenticity of Hanako's severity when he is being self-hating and feeling as though he is dangerous. H-hmmm, how to say, it's like there's a Mr. Hyde in there, like 👅 Yeahhhhh I don't give a FUCK... I would DO IT AGAIN... I WANNA PUT YOU IN A BOTTLE... LICK THE OUTSIDE... HRhgiuhrghhhf!!! . and. ... Hanako is, observing his own thoughts/feelings like, 😭 GOD, WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME... [TO HIS LOVED ONES] GET AWAY... BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE......!!!
But what's actually making it worse is that he won't, just, lean into his nature, and be a crazed romantic... He bottles this all up and then it comes out all desperate and unchecked. Hanako is bargaining with his own desires of, nobility and selfishness, and that's what makes things like PP and Severance such a mess. Ultimately it's, neither so noble since he didn't manage to wordlessly, emotionlessly bow out of Nene's life, nor is it as indulgent as making her his forever. But it's like he can't meaningfully conceive of how to do either of these things...
Hanako doesn't want Nene to live in Shijima-san's boundary, he doesn't want her to forget about him, he doesn't want her to grow up and get married without him. He doesn't even want to kill Aoi-!! It's all just a means to an end. It's a half-measure. It perhaps, feels a little better than keeping everything inside, but it doesn't feel as good as rambling like a lunatic and grabbing Nene possessively. Y'know-??? But the glimmers of his true nature we can see through these actions are alluring, it begs for more questions, for further investigation... It makes you want to peel him apart and get the truth to finally leap out. Stop! Holding! Back-!!! (everyone yelling at him)
I think the circumstances that Tsukasa engineers, are DESIGNED to fully unleash Amane... to chip away at him, to force him to inhabit his nature. Hopefully, there'll be a point where it's not even a choice for Amane, he will simply have to act on how he feels. That's the dream.
In summary. I think-? Our GOAL is wanting Hanako to be a yandere, even more of a yandere than ever. He's been too tepid. He's held back too much, still. He hasn't even told Nene he loves her-!! That's crummy for a yandere... We need to get past the obstacles that are impeding his heart. Which are... society, and personal repression. It is those obstacles are 'our enemy'.

JSHK 94 reaction
JSHK 94 proving once again that these are the same authors who wrote Dear My Living Dead
Gah, I haven’t been that creeped out by a JSHK chapter in a while. This proves to me that JSHK should definitely be classified as a seinen.
Not here to make moral judgments because let’s admit it both Hakubo and Sumire are twisted. For Hakubo, it’s a bit like blue-and-orange morality since you can’t really apply human morals to demons.
I do love how AidaIro portrayed the tragedy of extreme loves in Hakubo and Sumire’s case. It’s a clever subversion of interspecies relationships considering that most fantasy stories portray a happy ending for these kinds of relationships, but AidaIro portrays the tragedy of them simply having different morals(?), viewpoints (?), on account of being of different species, and you know the practical reality of you know, demons eating humans. Through the both of them, they were also able to portray the desire to ‘consume’ as the desire to ‘possess’ as an expression of love a la Beast Stars, Tokyo Ghoul, or even Attack on Titan.
Sure it made me sad, but again you have to appreciate the brilliance of it. JSHK has never been a straightforward story after all.
For Sumire’s case, as much as she loved Hakubo, I truly believe she also had a vengeful spirit (this doesn’t detract from her having a dutiful spirit as well, it’s the duality that gets me). The fine line between love and hatred wherein Sumire despite being ‘consumed’ could be seen as gloating that Hakubo must now suffer after having realized he loved her by having him be the one to directly kill her this time around. So really the line as to who between them is really the demon and human is also quite thin.
Finally, weirdly enough, I still have hope? On the one hand Sumire is in fact already dead so he’s not actually killing her. On the other hand, his aspect is death and life. As characteristic of the mood whiplash in this series, I wouldn’t be surprised if Sumire gets revived later on. I wouldn’t normally think you can come back from one part of the pair having eaten the other, but whelp, this is JSHK. Everyone has dysfunctional relationships. However my more pessimistic side sees this scene as foreboding. It shows to me that Hanako if he snaps could end up intentionally killing Nene to keep her with him forever as school mystery number eight. Again, this is AidaIro we are talking about, they of the tragic endings and yanderes. Really, it can go either way.

Heyyy ! I just wonder, I’m quite disappointed/worried because possessiveness seems depicted as romantic in the manga, and it makes me uncomfortable. What do you think about it ?
Personally, I think you should stop reading this manga, for your own good. Its like the fundamental bones of this manga are against you.
It's not only Jibaku Shounen; AidaIro's catalogue is loaded with possessive or 'yandere' scenes, and they are explicitly romantic. Narisokonai Snow White even does it on both sides of its master/servant relationship! My Dear Living Dead is bittersweet, and possessive to the extreme. Amane made Tsukasa his shrine object. Amane makes Nene his kannagi. That's the sort of person Amane is... across AUs, it's common to have more overt master/servant relationships or degrading of another's personhood... or a covetousness that takes all it pleases, whenever it pleases. AidaIro like yandere stories... !! They like the romance of possessiveness!
As for me, this sort of thing is exactly what I love and what I live for; diving into AidaIro's catalogue has made me SO excited for the directions this manga could go... and the themes trickle down into every relationship, weaving together a vision of unbreakable attachment (whether you want it or not!) and needy, desperate hearts. The extremes of love pushing otherwise selfless, self-sacrificing people finally into selfishness... it's glorious, RUINOUSLY DECADENT I would say!! AidaIro have honed such an art form in mindbreaking a dutiful boy who keeps his head down, until he's finally forced to act possessively (Akane, Hakubo, Cult, Estelio, Rasphard...) ....
People who ask for nothing, not even their own happiness, and then take everything!!!!! I could watch such an arc happen 1 million times and never get sick of it!!!!!!!!
But I do think it's almost... egregious, that people recommending the manga don't really note this theme-- even though I see people sometimes outright mention hating the directions of all the recent romances, there's not a lot of warning about......
you know. the way it is.
The climaxes of many ships have and aaaalmost certainly will continue to be possessive language and actions ... if anything, Amane's problem is not being honest about his feelings. His feelings, oh his feelings!!!!!! HIS AMAZING FEELINGS!!!!!
I love Amane! I want to see him express everything he's trying to hold back... I want to see him submit to his deepest urges, I want to see him break and show us what he really wants, and what he's willing to do to get it, to keep it!! I want Amane to be honest, even if it's ugly, even if it's scary. Even Nene-chan likes his possessiveness! She only wishes he'd admit to it. Amane is worried, or scared, or something, of his own feelings, he tries to escape ever having to talk about any of it!!
I'M EXCITED FOR THE FUTURE, I'M EXCITED FOR IT ALL!!!! I'm sorry it's uncomfortable for you, but you're reading the wrong manga .... it is going to reward characters doing and saying crazy things. And, it's going,, to believe they are being sexy and alluring the entire time they are doing them
like its always been!
#avvy's JSHK#narisokonai snow white's yandere ending is so beautiful really.#seeing the servant estelio incapacitate and poison his princess into immobility for days...#her only desire is to know his rationale for doing it. which is love!#she is OK with never going anywhere if estelio is with her!!#its like MDLD in that way (: together forever ♥

Favorite line in JSHK?
mmmmmm... such a good question.
Surprisingly, not one from my ship trio ... who I feel aren't quite "there yet" with their thesis. Still waiting on them to say what needs to be said...!
Sumire and Hakubo really are the most direct and written out we've gotten so many things that are themes in the manga... and, I remember when I first read these lines, I was very shocked that the manga would so openly state something, in this context.... I'll have to really break it down a bit. But this line alone makes me unbelievably excited for the entire manga, every romance in it...
a caretaker, earnestly pitying and lovingly looking after something helpless. The action itself appears selfless, and kind. And in terms of only its actions ... it is. Healing something broken, helping something that would otherwise be lost without you. Nobody else will do this.... others would think it a waste. So much effort... so much of your time, and energy, and for something so needy, so reliant on you....
juxtaposing the injured rabbit Sumire caretakes with the bloodied Hakubo behind her... Hakubo is the poor, pitiable injured animal, mistreated in his life, needing love and care.
I really like that this manga could confront such a concept, and I'm not reading through the lines to see all of this ... it's maintext. Sumire loves Hakubo ... she does. She pities him, too. She can see the pain and emptiness in his life... his inability to care for himself, his inability to do anything other than what he's told. She sees him as 'broken'. He is. Through her love, she can control his life ... improve it. But also, 'have' it, for herself.
Such a direct way of confronting the 'caretaking you gives me control of your life' vibes we see in spades in the possessive, controlling, manipulative Hanako, who has incredible big brother vibes not only towards Tsukasa, but of course, Nene-chan, as well. Hanako is protective.... to a troubling degree. He is adoring, to a troubling degree. He is insecure ... he wants to exert influence, he'll do that by looking after Nene-chan. It works.... well, it works on Hakubo and Nene-chan both-- they are both resistant at the start to the relationship being pressed upon them, but are worked over by the persistent caretaking of the other. It's very effective.
For Hanako ... saving Yashiro's life, is partially out of the need to control her life itself. To have influence over her very existence ... it's of course, an act of love, and, an act of ownership, claim, possessiveness. These things are all not mutually exclusive... all threaded together very well, in Sumire and Hakubo's scenes.
So! When this happened I was like "oh, so we can just say it? We'll really take the caretaker yandere thing to the bank??? and we'll let them win, totally succeed, wear down their target in this way????" it's beautiful and scary, haha!! It's so SWEET Sumire can look at Hakubo and see an injured little rabbit! It's sweet that Hanako naturally expresses his adoration by caretaking .... ! And always has ... I wonder, if Tsukasa was unwell or acting out towards the end of their lives, how Amane saw that Tsukasa? A poor animal, biting and scratching him, unable to be hated or blamed? Something to pity, something to love persistently? Much to think about. This line makes me think so so so much!

Having an interesting time thinking about how much Iro favors boys with a real.... loyalty to duty, and abject nihilism, a lack of ambition or dreams or motivation. They accept their lot in life!
Hanako obviously is this; in the first place, as a mystery, he was very "some things must not be changed", and held himself to the subjugation humans enforce on kaii. He's not the most noble hero at all, in the early manga, you'd think of him (and Teru) as more 'lawful', even to the point of being discompassionate, and, more importantly, hopeless. It is not an inspiring heroism. Hanako starting this series is not only not seeking change, he's evading it. He doesn't WANT to feel more, he doesn't WANT to challenge the system, HE knows how pointless it is. He knows he isn't meant to have a future. He seems very afraid of his own temptation the moment it rises.
Cult is also like this....! Loyal to the church, loyal to a system that subjugates and uses him, offers him no future and no freedoms, kills without remorse as much as it protects. He obeys orders, he knows resistance to paradigms is futile, and the best thing to do is lay your head down. He’s terrified of temptation, too.
Estelio from Narisokonai Snow White is actually like this, too. He's a servant to the princess, from a family which serves the royal family through generations. He's diligent and loyal to his princess, and to the system, despite that this system forbids him from ever stepping out of line, and pursuing the princess, whom he loves dearly. Estelio is... very stick-in-the-mud, and until challenged, he doesn’t bare any signs of wanting to resist.
Hanako, Cult, and Estelio would have rather just laid face down on the ground, or be shot where they stand, than be forced by circumstances to take action which betrays their position.
.... but all three of these boys can and do go yandere-- and ultimately, that is THE ONLY WAY they even CAN be broken out of their resignation-- it has to be mindbreak, it has to be their entire morality crumbling, and the result has to come with undermining another’s autonomy. You can understand then that the rules they were subjecting themselves to were, in part, meant to keep their own shit under control! This impression that if you snap a single thread, the whole thing unravels, and their code of conduct, if left to their own jurisdiction, is questionable. "Doing what I want" is not advisable. They know that. They know their own hearts!
I also think Hakubo is relevant to this (and a big part of why I think Hakubo holds a very prestigious position in the canon, must be very precious to Iro, to be the vehicle through which multiple pairings get to have their own big break moment alongside, AND how his situation has the MOST honor of relating to the original shinjuu, and multiple epic lore drops), though he has a unique spin on it; he all the same lacks any motivation to resist the orders and system he is restrained by his entire life. Finally 'doing what he wants' comes with a (typically) horrifying nature and action.
We really don't know what boy quite is under Hanako's seal.
