Day 5 of posting Nevermore thoughts until S2 drops

I highkey miss the art style from the middle of the season. The bell lesson arc was hands-down, the most visually appealing part of the entire series to me. Particularly Lenore's design. Thick thighs save lives and all that, but I long for the days when she was but a skinny Victorian boy. Like, look at her

Shinya seems to go for pretty safe hat choices nowadays, but hey, it's not like bucket hats look great on everyone. And that beanie is pretty cute too!

So, I still haven’t gotten to play the Teal Mask yet, but I’ve sure been thinking about it (because Pokémon lol) and I wanted to draw what I’d want to wear to the festival! Alolan themed of course because I’m me lol, but I think Ultra Nekrozma makes for a really cool mask! (And I put the alolan starters on the outfit instead of the loyal three)

another problem with this season: the show cannot seem to make up its mind about whether it wants its cast to be seen as more stupid than they are competent, or more competent than they are stupid.

i personally enjoy this kind of character duality, but imo the best way it works is when they are shown clearly to be a good chunk more competent than they are stupid. it can't be vice versa or equal parts both, that just doesn't work.

but unfortunately it's what happening this season. every single character is making dumb as fuck, selfish and self-destructive choices at an such an incredible rate that whenever any of them does something remotely impressive/good/competent, the moment falls flat. these characters are so hateable that i don't even want to root for them anymore. who cares that Allison just liquified a man's balls with her mind? good for her i guess?
