This came from a randomized AU prompt involving flight attendants and characters meeting in a coffee shop - I went with the main four meeting in an off-brand airport starbucks (plus melody because I have a blorbo agenda here :P), but got thoroughly sidetracked drawing melody + pika as flight attendants haha

(gon & killua meet in the airport and quickly hit it off, but while goofing off they accidentally bowl over leorio who really needed that coffee after 18 hours in transit back to medical school

kurapika is about ready to murder leorio - not for the coffee stain, but because he didn't apologize sincerely enough - but then gon jumps in very politely and says it was his fault and he's very sorry. kurapika decides to let it go :)

some handwavey logic later and they all end up on the same plane. kurapika gives gon and killua extra bags of the little pretzels and nearly kills leorio again for trying to flirt with melody. they all have a feeling it's not the last time they'll cross paths 🙂)

Okay, so my younger sister has anxiety and therefore a psychiatric Service Dog. He is certified and trained, and has had experience going to restaurants. However, he is young, so while he follows rules, doesn’t chase others, and doesn’t make noise/disturb, he tends to sit by us instead of laying at our feet (just his comfort level).

We are currently on vacation in Northern Wisconsin, and visited a restaurant called Maiden Lakes Supper Club. While there, once we were seated and had ordered, I noticed a balding man side-eyeing us. He soon came over while our dog was sitting behind us, by the wall. He immediately told us that he had never seen a service dog “that didn’t just lay down at the owner’s feet and didn’t eat”. He was extremely critical and as soon as we said that he was staying by us and was still in training, he stormed off without giving us his name. We were incredibly upset - our dog was obedient, quiet, and stayed underneath our table, even when the waitresses came by.

We spoke with him afterwards, and he stated that as the owner, he was simply trying to protect the place. From the incorrigible beast of murder and mayhem known as the “service dog”. Now from what we’ve heard he was the manager, not the owner, but regardless we were furious with his behavior. If you or someone you know has a service dog and lives near Wisconsin or is planning on visiting, please turn them away from Maiden Lakes Supper Club! However, all of the food and other waitstaff were wonderful.

I am going to go love our dog severely while seething in my chair. Hope you all have better experiences with your service animals! Also, PLEASE don’t put fake service dog vests on your animal. It’s incredibly illegal and hurts the treatment and reputation of trained service dogs. Thank you for respecting our animals!

Aw, man. I just got my hair coloured and cut at the place I’ve been going to for years, and when I went to pay afterwards there was a little sign on the desk explaining that because their suppliers have all recently raised their prices by 7-10%, they’ve unavoidably had to increase their prices in proportion (except for the price of cuts). And that increase, unfortunately, has taken the cost from an indulgence to an expense I can’t justify. I made my next appointment as usual because I felt awkward and couldn’t think what to say off the cuff, but I’ll have to send an email later cancelling and explaining why; thank you for everything and I’d love to come back if my situation changes but that’s all for me. Sucks for both of us, I lose something that I really enjoyed and they lose a steady customer. Now I have to figure out what else to do.
