props to my roommate for unintentionally saying the most romantic thing about Daisuga
rewatching "senpai's true abilities" in s1 and she was really digging the way suga interacts with the third years and there's a moment where Suga starts to get overwhelmed and Daichi interrupts telling him to calm down and she says [about long term school friends]
"i like that he just knew he was about to spiral. like you've been around someone so long your hearts have synchronized."
and if that doesn't just-

𖦹⋆。˚⋆rules⋆𖦹˚⋆ฺ
Tumblr media
im pretty flexible, but here are some basics!
(^_^)v:
⋆ no suggestive requests for
underaged characters
this is pretty self-explanatory, just don’t be a creep. my only (kinda) exception to this rule, is if the media has a canon time skip!
⋆ don’t rush me
i have a life too, if you could believe it. this is a hobby. if i’m not doing an unpaid commission for you, please don’t send me rude messages/asks asking when i’m gonna be done with your rq! Σ(-᷅_-᷄๑)
⋆ be polite
this piggybacks off of my last rule, please just be nice!。゚(゚´o`゚)゚。 i’m a young student who also has a job and rehearsal, so i may go on hiatus sometimes! also, i’m not claiming to be the best writer! i do understand constructive criticism, but i am a person with feelings!
⋆ no insensitive things
this is also self-explanatory. i will write for dark themes, but i will never write them to be romanized. i’m very open, so i’ll decide case-to-case if i’m comfortable with something.
⋆ i have the right to choose what i
will and will not write
this is related to my last one again! i don’t owe you an explanation if i decide to not write something!
thank you for respecting my boundaries!

The phantom thieves if they were a volleyball team
Setter- Joker because he's the leader and makes the decisions in canon. He'd also be the captain of the team
Opposite Hitter- Akechi definitely. He's canonically athletic and tall and left-handed which are ideal traits (since lefties are harder to block). I think Akechi would be obsessed with being the ace since his kit is basically all DPS in the game lmao. Also if we're using haikyuu logic, your power levels increase with how gay you are so... (also it's funny that his code name is 'Crow' and Karasuno are the crows)
Outside Hitters- This is tricky but I'm gonna go with Makoto and Haru. Makoto could've been the setter but she's canonically strong so I think she'd be more helpful as a spiker. Re: Haru im not sure if 'buff Haru' is actually canon or just really popular fanon. I remember a scene in the game where she's struggling to push a wheelbarrow in the real world, so I assume her strength in the metaverse was intended to be gap moe by the writers. It's between her and Ryuji but I went with Haru because i think Ryuji might struggle jumping with his injury
Middle Blockers- Yusuke and Sumire. Yusuke is the tallest phantom thief and MBs are usually tall. Sumire is actually very short but since she's a gymnast she's probably good at jumping so that could make up for her short height
Libero- probably Ryuji because he's fast. I mentioned that he could've been an outside hitter but since he has that injury he might not be able to jump frequently. Plus his tenacity is good attitude for a libero
Coach/Manager - Futaba, Ann and Morgana are the last ones. I think Futaba would do great as a coach since she's an analyst. Ann and Morgana have good support skills so I think they'd be good managers. They can also be substitutes. Ann as a pinch server is my favorite idea bc I headcanon that she helps Shiho practice since Shiho is canonically a VB player ❤️ (go to hell Kamoshida)

Slightly reworked Yamaguchi. His face was bothering me something fierce. This ain't quite it, but it's closer and the stars are pretty, so... one day, I'll clean him up properly and make the accompanying Tsukki.
But would Tsukki have a mountain or a strawberry framing him? What's the fandom accepted symbol for Yams?

Elegant Angel
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/n: hey guys!! So I decided to write something completely different. So this is my own thing short story, and I hope you guys like it!!
Synopsis: She falls in love with him without knowing she did, until she touches his hand.
Word Count: 816
Genre: fluff + strangers ⇒ lovers
Tumblr media
She danced for a living. She always felt the music flow up in her veins like a river uphill. Her frilly tutu swayed as she gracefully twirled and leaped.
He went to every show, but not for the reasons as the rich people did. His face covered in debri, hands with calluses with all the work he did on the stage. Bubbles erupted around as he scrubbed the spotlight clean for the next show.
In the back of the silky scarlet fabric, he would gaze at the angel, flying freely with elegance through the stage. The beam of warmth made a halo around her, skin glittering with a luminous glimmer.
Fascination plastered in his poor face. How could he fall for an angel like her?
She glanced backstage, her soft brown eyes meeting up to dark one. Her heart danced along with her in its cage. Her delicate feet landed softly like a pillow.
He stared more, with a hint of adoration in his glowing eyes. He couldn't resist how beautiful she was.
Thump, thump, thump.
Her heart thudded around her ribs. Sweat running down like honey, dripping away to patter on the stage ground she loved to dance on.
Thump, thump, thump.
He glance once more into her milk chocolate eyes, melting away his thundering drum.
She took her bow to the audience, appreciating her performance once more.
Walking behind the silk curtains, her shoulder accidentally brushed against his. The delicateness of the bump tickled goosebumps up their necks.
The darkness once felt, left the moment they grazed each other's shoulders.
As they bumped into each other, some of the cleaning supplies he carried along for after the show, splatted on the ground.
"I am so sorry." Her sugary voice ringed in his ear drum.
He stared into the angel's glittering eyes, waiting to be taken into heaven safely.
"Umm, hello?" Her cheeks turned rosy, following his.
Immediately the enchantment she had cast him broke, earning a clumsy grin in return to the girl.
"Oh, umm, yes. Sorry about that. It is my fault. I was busy mesmerized by your beauty- I mean by the beauty of your dancing."
He just stuttered along. A giggle escaped from her glimmering soft lips.
Bending over to the cold wooden floor, they picked up his things. His callous hands grazed against the softness of her palm.
"I am sorry, mademoiselle. I shouldn't have touch your hand like that." His voice shaky at the thought of the delicate touch.
"You are fine."
Her lips curved up to a soft smile. A hue creeped up onto her cheeks.
"Beautiful."
After the encounter, her heart boomed like thunder. Her feet wobbled like learning how to walk for the first time, making her look as if she didn't dance so gracefully just a few minutes ago.
"I guess I am in love with a simple man, even if my parents wish for me to marry a man I never met."
Tumblr media
The following day, she woke up in her soft bed, welcomed by the sunlight shining in her room. Some dust floated around like a light snowfall.
She stretched in the comfort of her bed, yawning softly as she rubbed her chocolate eyes.
Getting up, she walked in the closet to change into her attire to get ready for a new opportunity given to her from the universe.
Tumblr media
She headed to the stage to practice once more, glancing towards the brunet boy over and over again. A few strands of her chocolate locks kept coming back onto her face as she delicately kept on tucking them behind her ears.
"Hey there, mademoiselle. 'Tis I, again. The one that bumped into you last night." He grinned at her.
"Yes, I remember." Her cheeks grew warm.
"So, came to perform to your audience once more?" His smile turned flirtatious.
"Why, yes. I did so, if you are my audience?" She looked at the wooden floor of the stage.
"Well, m'lady I shall look at your spectacle, but first I must complete my job." He pointed at the huge theater, showing how much of a mess it was from last night.
"Ah, yes. I feel bad for you."
"No, no, 'tis fine." He bowed.
Tumblr media
"Oh, tell me more." She told him with a giggle.
"Well, I am just an ordinary guy with an ordinary life like I said. I worked here for several years now. I can't afford much, but I want to be able to afford your love."
He quickly cover his mouth with his calloused hands, earning a snort from her.
"I actually feel the same. I have realized how much you mean to me, even if I didn't talk to you until now." Her glittering eyes met his.
"And I want to be your everything, angel." He whispered in her ear, sending a shiver.
"And I will make your dream come true."

honestly i think the funniest thing i saw as part of the whole "editing haikyuu characters with different clothing/hair styles/accessories" trend was this one where someone edited ushijima to have an undercut-esque hairstyle and they were like "omgggg what if" and i was just like. dude. that is hakuba. that is literally just hakuba gao. that is what hakuba looks like go crush on hakuba if you want it that badly hakuba is a total sweetheart and isn't as big of a jerk just go give him some love already!!

someone else can decide which novel they're reading together
they are the kind to have been around each other so long they know each others routines and exist almost seamlessly. their home is so cozy and clean. they always have all kinds of tea and their friends' favorite snacks

I'd also add that at a certain skill level it's fairly easy to craft a solid argument for any hammer or screwdriver- the key for me was figuring out if I should or not. Fandom (and my degree) taught me how to bring a feminist analysis to everything, but sometimes things aren't here for feminist analysis (romance novels, LGBTQ history books, women's art and design contest transcripts, etc) because it would be crass and metatextual and not very useful. Sure I could say the romance novel was doing a sexism by having the women being rescued, or the LGBTQ book had gender roles because of the butch lesbian main character, or that the design contest showed an absence of sterilized disabled women talking about pregnancy during a career. Would any of this say anything to people who didn't already know about feminist issues? Not really. Would it say something new? Not in particular. And it would largely be offensive to both women and the people being criticized because the premise (girl gets a fantasy, lesbian gets a fantasy, providing a space for people to discuss problems) conflicts with the basis of the criticism. In short: they weren't trying to do the thing I'd be criticizing them for not doing, so they didn't fail or mess up in any way.
That's important because in some areas of analysis it becomes an ethics question. Leveraging feminist criticism against a feminist organization already accomplishing their stated goals is a time waster certainly, but even more so reading a novel about the horrors of war and colonialism as a comedy is super dehumanizing. The gritty "alice in wonderland is about being on drugs" interpretations are messed up in the same vein because it removes the possibility of children's stories to be authentically presented as they are interpreted by children. "What if Naruto is about the horrors of war" detract from actual stories about the horrors of war- the lord of the rings for example- as failing to accomplish what Naruto is about (outcast gets accepted into society! Very moving in a culture that has rampant bullying problems around difference). Talking about Shakespeare romance through the lens of feminist cynicism (it wasn't love at first sight, Romeo was just objectifying and taking advantage of Juliet, etc) strips the possibility of the value of engaging with what women might have enjoyed from the plays and how it reflect cultural values about women and removes the voice of women in the original audience to have a voice. Jane Austen doesn't have to say something about #feminism to have an important and moving novel in Pride and Prejudice (about her fantasies about romance) and trying to find a sick feminist own in her response to Darcy's proposal ignores the raw emotional elements, and saying it does says that women's fantasies aren't valuable literature and need to justify it with feminist thought.
I think it's worth noting also that the lens I see most misused in fandom is not romance, but instead feminist critique (see above)- and I've noticed a habit of racing to find newer and more cutting edge critiques that have increasingly minimal evidence to support them. (And sometimes Marxism.)
One thing about fandom culture is that it sort of trains you to interact with and analyze media in a very specific way. Not a BAD way, just a SPECIFIC way.
And the kind of media that attracts fandoms lends itself well (normally) to those kinds of analysis. Mainly, you're supposed to LIKE and AGREE with the main characters. Themes are built around agreeing with the protagonists and condemning the antagonists, and taking the protagonists at their word.
Which is fine if you're looking at, like, 99% of popular anime and YA fiction and Marvel movies.
But it can completely fall apart with certain kinds of media. If someone who has only ever analyzed media this way is all of a sudden handed Lolita or 1984 or Gatsby, which deal in shitty unreliable narrators; or even books like Beloved or Catcher in the Rye (VERY different books) that have narrators dealing with and reacting to challenging situations- well... that's how you get some hilariously bad literary analysis.
I dont know what my point here is, really, except...like...I find it very funny when people are like "ugh. I hate Gatsby and Catcher because all the characters are shitty" which like....isnt....the point. Lololol you arent supposed to kin Gatsby.
