Alternates
Because the Darcy Lewis Bingo Mod Team are writers and artists ourselves, we understand that not all prompts are created equal and, therefore, are not necessarily inspiring to all creators. So, for 2024-25, we are including a list of 10 fun, spooky alternate prompts you’re welcome to use on any day you get stumped by the creator prompts we’ve supplied above. Each alternate prompt may only be used once, however, so use them wisely and don’t take them for granted. These are not easier prompts by any means! And don’t forget that all of your Promptober fills must incorporate our beloved Lady of the Astrophysics Lab, Dr. Darcy Lewis!
A1. a 2-sentence horror story (req.: cannot be longer than 2 sentences & must tell a complete horror story)
A2. Darcy’s First Halloween
A3. a Halloween Darcy drabble (req.: exactly 100 words)
A4. the Avengers go out on Halloween Night in New York City
A5. an onomatopoeic story or poem (req.: must include at least 13 onomatopoetic words)
A6. a Darcy retelling of the Headless Horseman (or your favorite classic spooky story)
A7. an acrostic poem about Darcy, the Avengers, and Halloween
A8. The Mummy AU
A9. an autumnal Darcy haiku
A10. record a podfic (with permission) of a friend’s spookiest Darcy fic
With our alternates, this means every player begins this round of Promptober with a whopping 103 spooky season prompts. We can’t wait to see what you make of them in the year to come. Have a spooky time creating, Darcy Friends!
Promptober 2024 is a list of 31 this-that-or-the-other prompt themes handpicked by our mod team to cross international borders for creators to choose from to create spooky, oogie, or hygge fanworks for the autumn & Halloween season (or for Scary Christmas, Valloween/St. Guillotine’s Day, Half-Halloween, Gay Halloween!, Summerween, Scary Christmas in July, or Autumn Down Under for our Aussie creators). We continue to be not your mom so we’re not here to tell you when or how long you can celebrate your Spooky Season. Here at Darcy Lewis Bingo HQ, all your spooky holiday lifestyle choices are valid. In fact…
Important Dates & Deadlines
Promptober begins on August 3rd, 2024 this round, but you know how we feel about deadlines. 🔪 So, for this round of Promptober, we’re doing away entirely with hard deadlines and we mean it! You have from August 3rd, 2024 until our next Halloween event begins, and even beyond that, if you like! Though we do strongly recommend wrapping up this challenge before the next spooky challenge begins, this event remains open basically as long as this bingo exists. No pressure to complete, ever, just inspo and encouragement. 🧡
Promptober Challenges
Promptober Mini Challenge: choose and complete fannish works for any 13 of the prompts from this list for our mini challenge. Creators may choose 13 prompts from the list of prompts—any 13 prompts at all!
Promptober Mega Challenge: choose and complete fannish works for 31 of the listed prompts for our spooky main event! Creators may choose any 31 of the total 93 prompts listed to complete this event.
For an extra personal challenge, you may limit yourself to only posting a fanwork inspired by one of the prompts listed by the number that corresponds to each day of October for every day of the month all month long, but it’s absolutely not required for completion of this event. We want you to succeed and create, and to share new Darcy works, so our goal is always to support you in your fannish creative endeavors and make that as easy as possible.
*If you post every day in October as a personal challenge, mention us @darcylewisbingohq in your tumblr posts to let us know you’ve posted a new work or update so we can reblog your daily posts in as close to real time as possible. Once we’ve left a like on your post, rest assured: that means it’s in our queue, just waiting its turn to be featured on our blog.
Promptober 2024 Guidelines
Promptober fills must prominently feature our beloved Lady of Astrophysics, Dr. Darcy Lewis!
Promptober creators have all of our 2024-2025 round to work on this event! If you want to work on it the whole year until we release the next spooky season event, we encourage you to do that. If spooky challenges are particularly your jam, we’d love to see what you do with ours when you’ve got the whole year to tackle it!
entries—Your fanwork is NOT required to use the prompt exactly as it appears on this list. Prompts need only inspire your fanwork, whether they appear word for word in it or not. However the prompt inspires you is correct, as far as we’re concerned. Subvert the prompt, reverse the prompt, marry the prompt—it’s up to you.
All forms of fannish works are accepted and encouraged for this event! Fanfic, fanart, poetry, podfics, fanvids, playlists, fiber and other crafts, fan edits, moodboards, etc.
You may start posting your Promptober fanworks as soon as they’re ready to share. No need to wait until October and no need to rush to get them all done in that month, either.
Fanwork Fill Requirements
100 words for written works or word art, with the exception of poetry with independent formatting rules (such as haikus).
1 image for artwork or handcrafts of any kind and a description for the visually impaired of the medium used and what it represents.
1 image for cosplay or character-bounding and a description for the visually impaired of cosplay or clothing and any other fashion influences incorporated into the costume or clothing (be descriptive! talk about fabrics and colors, tone and texture! describe the emotions the colors you used evoke in you as the creator!)
9 elements for moodboards (background, images, texts, ephemera) and a description for the visually impaired of the moodboard and what it represents.
6 images for social media AUs and a description for the visually impaired of the creation and what it represents.
10 songs for playlists and a text list of artists and songs to give credit to the original artists, plus a description for the visually impaired of what the playlist represents and how it relates to Darcy.
Still not sure if your creation will meet the minimum prompt fill requirements? @ a mod! we’ll create new requirements based on new types of creator fanwork submissions, as needed.
These participation requirements are identical to our annual bingo event; those guidelines are always pinned at the top of our tumblr blog where they’re easy to find; the link to those guidelines and fill requirements can also be found on Discord in our #bingo-info channel.

Synopsis: The members of Greta Van Fleet agree to do an interview with the Human Napkin himself, Nardwuar, and find themselves ridiculously unprepared for his interview style.
Words: 2k
Warnings: language, some sexual innuendos (kinda?), mentions of stalking, the void™️
Notes: Shoutout to @skywaydrifter for the amazing fic idea, and sending me down a wild Nardwuar binge-fest
----------------------------------------------
Nardwuar theme plays with the animated intro video. The shot opens to show NARDWUAR standing in front of an impressive display of vinyl records, next to JOSH KISZKA.
NARDWUAR: How are you?
Nardwuar shoves his microphone into Josh’s face. Josh flinches back a bit, but then leans into the microphone.
JOSH: Absolutely groovy.
NARDWUAR: Tell me who you are.
JOSH: That’s a bit of a loaded question. I’m a dreamer, a mere mortal, a man with a dream…
NARDWUAR: Your name.
JOSH: Oh. Josh Kiszka. Frontman for the group, Greta Van Fleet.
Josh curtsies to the camera.
NARDWUAR: Welcome to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. And right off the bat, I have a gift for ya.
JOSH puts a hand over his heart and looks at the camera in shock.
JOSH: Now I feel bad, I didn’t bring you anything.
NARDWUAR (continued): I’ve got this 1966 album, All About Miriam.
JOSH: (taking the album and cradling it in his arms) Oh my goodness.
NARDWUAR: I heard that you’re a fan.
JOSH: Miriam Makeba? Oh yeah, she’s one of my favorites. My parents had a few of her albums that they would play all the time when I was younger. She’s got such a rich voice, I can only dream of sounding like that.
NARDWUAR: But you do have a pretty distinct voice that I’m sure a lot of people are jealous of. How did you find that sound?
JOSH: I started screaming and then I guess I kind of found my way, eventually. (chuckles) No, but actually, my vocal coach, Ron, I call him “The Master” because he genuinely saved my vocal cords. I wouldn’t be where I am today without him.
NARDWUAR: How do you do it? Is it special vocal warmups? Some kind of mystery technique?
JOSH: Well, you see, if I told you, I’d have to kill you.
NARDWUAR: I’ve got another gift for you here, Josh.
JOSH: Oh god, now I feel super bad.
NARDWUAR: Costumes are a big part of your stage presence. Here, I’ve got a piece that might look familiar to you.
Nardwuar holds out Josh’s infamous golden pants, and Josh reluctantly takes them.
JOSH: Oh boy, I forgot how shiny and see through these were.
NARDWUAR: You wore these in the sweltering sun on the iHeart Radio festival stage in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, September 22, 2018, didn’t you?
JOSH: I’m not sure if these are the exact pair…
NARDWUAR: They are.
JOSH: Huh? Did you dig them out of the dumpster or something?
NARDWUAR: Now, Josh, can you tell me about Sean Reyes?
Josh looks at Nardwuar with intense skepticism.
JAKE: (offscreen) What the fuck?
JOSH: Now how do you know about Sean Reyes?
NARDWUAR: It’s Josh Kiszka trivia!
Josh squints at Nardwuar, uncertain.
JOSH: Sean Reyes was my third grade teacher.
NARDWUAR: And he was the one who encouraged you to write poetry, right?
JOSH: Yes…..
NARDWUAR: Like haikus?
JOSH: Mr. Reyes would play a lot of folk stuff for us, like John Denver, Joni Mitchell, all the classics, and he could tell I really dug it. He pulled me aside after class, showed me some of his favorite lyrics, and explained how it was a form of poetry. I took that to heart and spent a lot of time outside of class writing poems after that.
NARDWUAR: Were they any good?
JOSH: Well, some lines ended up in our songs, so you tell me.
NARDWUAR: Well, I heard your twin brother behind the camera just now. Let’s bring him out here. Come here, Jake!
JAKE joins Josh’s side in front of the camera, looking nervous. He’s wringing his hands, avoiding eye contact with Nardwuar.
NARDWUAR: Hello, Jake.
JAKE: (short) Hi.
NARDWUAR: I have a gift for you.
JAKE: Uh, okay.
NARDWUAR: It’s a poster from H.O.R.D.E. Festival at Deer Creek Music Center in Noblesville, Indiana featuring big names like Blues Traveler, The Black Crowes, and Taj Mahal from 1995. Something important happened at this festival, right?
Jake pales.
JAKE: Uh. Uh.
Josh is staring pretty hard at Nardwuar.
JAKE: (to Josh) There’s no way he knows about that. How could he know about that?
Nardwuar sneaks the microphone closer into Jake’s mouth.
NARDWUAR: Well?
JAKE: Okay, uh, they might kill me for admitting this on camera, but my parents are pretty sure that’s where Josh and I were conceived.
NARDWUAR: Do you like Taj Mahal?
Jake struggles to rebound from that 180.
JAKE: Um (beat) yeah. I’d list him as a big influence.
NARDWUAR: And another gift for Jake Kiszka!
JAKE: (whispering to Josh) This guy freaks me out.
NARDWUAR: Here you go!
Nardwuar tosses Jake a ziploc bag containing something brown. Jake’s reflexes get the better of him and he grabs the bag out of the air, and then blankly studies what’s in his hands.
JAKE: What the actual fuck.
NARDWUAR: Tell me what you’re holding there!
JAKE: Hair. It’s my hair.
JOSH: What??
JAKE: I’m not even joking. This is what they chopped off, like, last year before our second leg of the Dreams in Gold Tour.
JOSH: (growing defensive of his brother) Where did you get that from?
NARDWUAR: What was the reason for the big chop?
JAKE: I could have sworn my hairdresser said she was going to donate that.
NARDWUAR: Oh, she did.
JAKE: I’m sorry, what?
SAM bounds into the scene in front of the camera, looking energetic.
SAM: This is fun! Do me now!
NARDWUAR: Sam Kiszka! Alright, Jake. Thanks and doot doola doot doo…
JAKE: Huh?
NARDWUAR: (finishing for Jake) Doo doo! (turns to Sam) I have a question for you.
Sam is hopping from foot to foot and clapping his hands with glee while Jake confusedly wanders off camera.
SAM: Fire away!
NARDWUAR: Your aunt works at State Farm in Chicago.
DANNY: (offscreen) That’s not a question.
JOSH: How could you possibly know that?
NARDWUAR: Have you ever had to file a claim with her?
SAM: Well, actually one time…
JOSH: Ssh! Don’t tell him anything.
NARDWUAR: (entirely unbothered) I have a gift you might like, Sam!
SAM: Oh my god! You guys aren’t gonna believe this. It’s my birth certificate!
JOSH: What kind of interviewer are you??
NARDWUAR: I’m just a fan, guys, just a fan. I love your music!
Sam’s phone rings.
SAM: Whoops, sorry. I know this is unprofessional but, one sec. I gotta take this.
Instead of going off camera to answer the phone in private like a normal person, Sam answers the phone and puts it on speaker.
SAM (continued): Y’ello?
KAREN: (obviously shaken) Sam?
SAM: Hey Mom, what’s up?
KAREN: Are you boys alright?
Josh grabs the phone from Sam.
JOSH: Mom? What’s going on?
KAREN: Someone broke into our house while your dad and I were on our trip. We’re worried it might have been a stalker since they took a lot of your possessions and some important documents.
JOSH: Oh my god, are you okay?
KAREN: Fine, just a bit shaken up. But, I’m so sorry, they stole Sammy’s birth certificate.
Sam calls into the phone over Josh’s shoulder.
SAM: Don’t worry about it, Mom! I just got it gifted back to me!
Josh hands Sam his phone and rushes away.
JOSH: (screaming offscreen) RICHARD! WE NEED BACKUP!
KAREN: I’m gonna have to call my sister to file a claim. They broke a crazy amount of our windows. Like, way more than they needed to. What a headache.
DANNY: (to Nardwuar) You have a lot of explaining to do.
NARDWUAR: I’ve got a gift for you, Daniel!
Nardwuar pulls out a pack of old Beatles cards.
DANNY: I don’t want it.
NARDWUAR: It’s a pack of 1964 Beatles collector’s cards, in mint condition!
DANNY: Wait, I do want it.
Danny takes the cards from Nardwuar and looks at them with delight.
NARDWUAR: You’re a big fan of the Beatles, right?
DANNY: Oh yeah, I always have been.
JAKE: You’re not seriously continuing this interview.
DANNY: (while opening and flipping through the pack of cards) I mean, this is a pretty cool gift.
JAKE: (evidently at his wit’s end) This guy 100% broke into my family’s house, and he for sure did the same to your parents.
NARDWUAR: Would you say there was a specific Beatles album that most inspired you?
DANNY: Definitely Rubber Soul. I loved hearing them try folk.
Jake throws up his hands in exasperation.
DANNY: Norwegian Wood genuinely changed my life.
NARDWUAR: In what way?
JAKE: Nope, we’re not doing this anymore.
Jake thrusts his finger up into Nardwuar’s face.
JAKE (continued): What else did you take from us, you son of a bitch?
NARDWUAR: Does it count as “taking” if I give it back to you?
JAKE: Yes!
NARDWUAR: I’d beg to differ.
DANNY: (looking through his cards) Woah! I’ve never seen this photo of Ringo Starr before!
Josh comes rushing back to the scene with their bodyguard and pal, RICHARD.
RICHARD: (scanning around on full alert) Where is he?
JOSH: (shrill, pointing at Nardwuar) There!
Nardwuar simply grins at Richard.
NARDWUAR: Can you tell me about Grubbyknot?
Richard is obviously thrown off, and he lets down his guard.
RICHARD: Huh? Grubbyknot? That was my metal band in high school. But we only played like two shows. One was in my parent’s garage.
JOSH: Don’t let him get into your head, Richard! You’re our big guns, we can’t lose you!
SAM: Do you have another gift for me, Nardwuar?
Nardwuar stares at Sam, entirely expressionless.
NARDWUAR: No, I don’t. Doot doola doot doo…
SAM: Doo-doo?
Upon Sam’s words, he vanishes into thin air. Jake is so terrified, he falls to the ground and cowers on the floor.
JAKE: Jesus Christ!
NARDWUAR: I usually like to speak with only 1-2 people at a time on camera. It’s getting a little bit too crowded for me right now.
Nardwuar looks at Danny, whose attention is finally away from his cards, and is gawking at the empty space where Sam was just standing.
NARDWUAR: (continued, making eye contact with Danny) Doot doola doot doo…
Danny stares back at Nardwuar in horror, his mouth sealed shut. Nardwuar sings the little tune again, holding his microphone up to Danny to finish it.
JAKE: (cutting in) Doo doo! (beat) Fuck!
Jake disappears.
JOSH: (explaining to Richard and Danny) He has this condition where he can’t handle hearing an unfinished tune. Poor guy has a curse.
NARDWUAR: Just one more to go.
Nardwuar focuses his attention back to Danny.
DANNY: Where did you send them?
NARDWUAR: To another place.
DANNY: Super helpful, thanks.
NARDWUAR: Don’t mention it.
DANNY: Are they still alive?
NARDWUAR: I can’t see why not. I’m a fan! I wouldn’t hurt you guys.
Danny sighs.
DANNY: Okay. Send me away so I can do some damage control.
RICHARD: No!
NARDWUAR: Doot doola doot doo…
DANNY: (unenthused, clapping his hands on the beat) Doo doo.
Danny is gone.
RICHARD: My boss is gonna kill me.
JOSH: I’m pretty sure I’m your boss.
Richard widens his eyes and holds his hands up in a defensive position, backing slowly away from Josh.
JOSH (continued): Oh, come on. I’m not gonna hurt you, Richard.
RICHARD: You did dump an entire bag of flour over my head that one time. And kicked that giant chocolate bar in my hands. And swung a folding chair at me backstage.
JOSH: All tiny, insignificant hiccups.
NARDWUAR: Josh, you’re gonna love this next thing that I’ve got for you.
JOSH: Please, no.
Nardwuar hands Josh a Scooby Doo plushie.
NARDWUAR: Tell me what that is.
Josh studies the stuffed animal, trying to discern how it has any relevance to him.
JOSH: Scooby Doo?
NARDUWAR: What was that second word?
JOSH: Doo?
NARDWUAR: Wait. Say it again? (under his breath) Doot doola doot doo…
JOSH: Doo?
Nardwuar taps on his ear, signaling that he didn’t hear Josh. Josh huffs and rolls his eyes.
JOSH (continued, enunciating maybe a little bit too much): Doo!
Josh disappears.
NARDWUAR: Well, this has been fun. Keep on rockin’ in the free world and doot doola doot doo…
It’s silent around him since there’s no one there to finish his jingle. Nardwuar continues to grin wider and wider until he’s nearing uncomfortably close to uncanny valley.
The scene shifts to a confusing plane seemingly everywhere and nowhere at once. A pattern reminiscent of Nardwuar’s red and green plaid Tammy cap stretches from the floor to the sky. Josh and Richard appear in the mysterious space, Josh screaming with terror.
JAKE: Hey.
DANNY: Nice of you to join us.
It takes a while for Josh to collect himself but, when he does, he notices Jake and Danny standing in front of him.
JOSH: Where’s Sammy?
DANNY: He went to take a piss.
RICHARD: Hey, wait, I didn’t say the doo doo thing. Why am I here?
Josh shrugs.
JOSH: We must be a package deal or something.
RICHARD: That’s wildly unfair.
SAM: (off in the distance) Woah, I had a lot more in my bladder than I thought. I wouldn’t come over here if I were you, guys. I can cross “building a manmade lake” off my bucket list.
JAKE: God, I need to get out of here.
DANNY: And how are we gonna do that, Jake?
Jake has no clue. He’s frankly dumbfounded.
The scene jumps back to Nardwuar, still in front of the records. He seems unaware that the camera is still rolling.
NARDWUAR: (to someone offscreen) Yeah, yeah. They should be gone for good. Yup. The plaid void, where I sent Dave Rowntree. We should be good to steal their identities now. God knows we’ve done enough research.
Back in the plaid void.
DANNY: Holy shit, is that Dave Rowntree?
RICHARD: The guy from Blur?
DAVE ROWNTREE: CURSE YE FOUL BEAST, NARDWUAR!
Fin.
Note: The names/facts listed in the interview within this fic are all entirely fictitious. I'm not about to start leaking private and personal information about the guys.

Friendly reminder that English is not my first language. You can check my Masterlists both in English and Polish here.
AN (it's very hard to keep up with haiku syllables in English but I'm trying my best to modify my orginal poetry).
Tumblr media
Xiao
✧ The boy mainly plays shooters and fighting games. He has a skill. He doesn't even have to try and kills go on and on and on...
✧ He is not interested in numbers on the channel and basically doesn't care about all the activity on the Internet. You're the one who talked him into it and you take care of the technical side. You edit videos or set things up for streams. You also moderated the comments before things got bigger.
✧ You occasionally walk by the screen but you've never shown your face. Fans often ask Xiao to tell who is next to him because they see him turn his head towards you. He always denies, saying that no one, because you don't want to be the envy of his fans and he has a lot of them.
✧ He gets mad when things don't work out but that's rare. He'd smashed the keyboard once or twice but only when he was playing for himself and nobody saw him.
✧ Die-hard PC guy. Doesn't accept consoles or smartphones.
✧ He wears sweatshirts all the time and they all look alike. Black and green are the only colours in his wardrobe.
✧ Disappears after streams very quickly. There are no goodbyes, he just turns off the camera and it's dark.
Tumblr media
Kamisato Ayato
✧ King of ASMR. He often gets comments that he helps people fall asleep. His voice is so famous that he has given it to characters in several animations. Fans keep begging and sending him new stories to read on as podcasts.
✧ Ayato is rich but few people know it. Pretty good at hiding his private life from his fans.
✧ His sister appeared on Q&A episodes and absolutely won people's hearts. So much so that they asked her to take over his channel. And indeed, for a week he gave it into her care.
✧ You appear in some videos in the form of a hand. Sometimes you wave, other times you give him food. People are consumed by curiosity about what you look like. Kamisato always says with a laugh that he won't show you because someone else will steal you from him.
✧ Bobba tea is his brand. It reigns in many fanarts from viewers and he often drinks it on streams. Several companies wanted to work with him but he gently declined to maintain impartiality.
✧ Sometimes he plays strategy games but it's side content. Rather, he focuses on working with his voice as he is always busy. In addition to being a youtuber, he also has his own business and lacks time for other forms of work.
Tumblr media
Kaeya Alberich
✧ Plays Genshin Impact and simps to most characters. He started shortly after the premiere and since then he has been completely absorbed.
✧ When you appeared on the screen, he already knew he was going to wish for you. All the fans watched with fascination how much he was excited about you. Unfortunately, he lost 50/50. That's why he did a weekly primogems gathering with the viewers to hit the guarantee. He got you on the last day of your banner and he was happy.
✧ Even if the current meta has eclipsed your character, he still has a three crowns on you and plays you on Abyss, just to show that he can do it.
✧ He wears a pirate headband for fun. Fans speculated that he might have a sick eye but he denied it.
✧ He fights with his brother all the time. Diluc also has a channel and you can see the rivalry on both sides. They pretend to be adults but in reality they have race to a million subscribers and still get at each other. Fortunately, they live separately and rarely see each other.
✧ Quite an attentive person. He doesn't mind being number one on social media hashtags. He has accounts on every social media he knows. He will take the opportunity to enjoy the triumph with the viewers, especially if he wins an achievement.
Tumblr media
Xianling
✧ She runs a cooking channel. In addition, she travels a lot and records vlogs about cuisines from around the world.
✧ Her channel's mascot is Guoba. The bear has been standing at the back of the kitchen since the first episode and that's how it stayed. After some time, in the refreshed version, she ordered it as a stuffed animal for her store so that fans could also buy it.
✧ She regularly asks you to appear on the show with her. You make her fans happy with your relationship. They do compilations with your legendary flour wars.
✧ The girl creates unique compositions. She is known for using exotic ingredients in her dishes. She often combines them in an unusual way.
✧ She can eat a chili pepper without drinking antyhing after. Nobody knows how she does it. The video with this trick already has several million views.
✧ Xianling is planning on opening her own restaurant after flying around a few more countries. You promised to help find cooks and the number of CVs sent already scares you.

i think that jaskier is so essential to ciri's development as both a character and as a kid.
none of the witchers know how to be a kid. none of the sorceresses know how to be a kid. none of them had the chance. they were faced with the horrors of the world so early.
but jaskier wasnt. jaskier was a regular human kid raised in a noble family. sure, he doesnt have a 'regular' childhood, but i dont think there is a 'regular' in the witcher.
but jaskier got the chance to be a kid. he got the chance to run around and cause mischief on purpose. he got to go to oxenfurt and live his life as a college student. he got to play and laugh and do stupid shit. he got the freedom that none of the others had.
he can talk to ciri like shes just another friend. he can see things from her point of view- a noble child who just wants to fuck around instead of have the weight of the world on her shoulders. he can give her a sense of normalcy that none of the others can.
obviously, with his education and experience as a teacher, he can also give her the essential knowledge she needs as a future leader. i bet my entire left foot that the witchers know fuck all about grammar. they just speak the language, what the fuck is a haiku? prose? sounds like rich bitch shit. anyways, lets go sword fight.
jaskier knows the ins and outs of the courts. he knows court etiquette. he knows how to do a proper bow and how to speak to royalty and how to be diplomatic. yennefer likely knows this as well, being trained to be a court mage, but not to the same degree jaskier knows it. jaskier was raised to speak this language as a viscount. as a leader of an estate.
and then, living through history is different than learning it. the others may be centuries old and have seen history pass, but they cant be everywhere at once. they cant see everything. they have bias, whether they like it or not.
and elder!! jaskier canonically knows elder (despite being rusty at the beginning of the series; i do believe that after traveling the path with geralt he would pick it back up, since itd be very useful when encountering others on the path.) and i feel like hed have a much better grasp on the rules of grammar and structure and how to hold a regular conversation, compared to the others focuses on magical and professional shit.
he knows the things that a noble needs to know. he knows how courts work, how to talk to othe nobles and other people.
but back to my point of her being a kid.
the witchers were raised on brutality and danger. the sorceresses were raised on strict rules and perfectionism. jaskier was raised as a noble, but as a noble child. he was able to annoy his maids and servants, he was able to sneak around an estate and have fun. he was allowed to go to oxenfurt, he was allowed to get drunk and skip class and run around with his friends and live his life as an equal to his peers instead of a noble to people of a lesser status.
he can give ciri the humanity that the others didnt get as children.

Hello! Can I request a romantic matchup for one of the boys from bungou stray dogs and genshin impact?
I'm 20 years old and I'm an ENTP. my zodiac sign is Pisces and my enanegram is 7w8. I am an extrovert who loves meeting new people and learning new things! I love learning languages and can speak 3 already (learning a 4th one rn) as it allows me to speak with so many more people more comfortably and also learn more about their cultures and things that I wouldn't know otherwise. A few more of my hobbies include drawing, exploring new places/travelling, gardening, cooking, baking, tarot reading, collecting stuff (mostly crystals and books or just anything that looks cool or pretty) tea brewing,  making terrariums, singing, needle felting, sewing, and fashion. I am very big on gardening though, I love making terrarium and taking care of plants! I have an entire notebook dedicated to different plants ive learnt about and how to care for them well. Personality wise, I'm often described as having 'dog energy'? I'm just very expressive, energetic, and get excited very easily. I'm a confident person who isn't afraid to stand out (appearance wise and personality wise) and I do enjoy getting positive attention from people. However, I do have a bit of a short temper and get frustrated easily, especially at people who can't keep up with my energy but it is something that I'm working on. I also get stressed easily, I'm a very hard worker but to the point that I overwork myself a lot and burn out quickly.
I don't think I have a specific type or ideal person but I would like someone who is able to keep up with me and my love for new things. I like people who are okay with being dragged along to different places by me and also being very spontaneous. I love doing most things unplanned when I feel like it so someone who wouldn't mind that would be nice ahaha. Also someone who is alright me me talking and rambling a lot. I don't mind if they talk back with me or if they just listen as long as they don't get annoyed at me talking a lot. Also I have OCD, so someone who is understanding of that instead of just telling me 'deal with it' would be nice.
Other than that I don't have much of a preference/type
So sorry this was such a big long read but thank you if you read through all of it! I hope you have a good day!!
I found your match! Come to meet them, c'mon c'mon!
Tumblr media
I don't know whenever someone even remembers this guy, but I do. Expressive, energetic as well, and can perfectly put up with your energy perfectly. Just ask this guy to fetch anything you wanna do, and he will be in maybe half of an hour back? (maybe it helps that he might or not be rich thanks to papa Fitzgerald? So he helps to support any hobby you need to?)
Definitely curious and enthusiastic on what you can do, with all the hobbies you have. So you might even teach him something (do you have space for shooting on you hobby list? Just a small suggestion from him. You know, as for how much enthusiast about shooting)
At the same time, he is laid back as a person: relaxing somehow is always good after all! You don't need to push yourself too much. He won't stress you, so you don't need to as well. Just there to help whenever you need to!
Tumblr media
I know this guy looks like he is totally on something strong 24/7 to be as chill as he is, but as you said you need someone to put on with your energy? Kazuha definitely can.
Definitely as curious on what you are able to do, maybe not in an enthusiastic way but will be there to silently watch you do all the work.
Also I feel he would definitely like taking care of plants with you, as he is absolutely tuned with nature. Maybe more as a helper, I'm not sure how green his thumb is, but with the right instructions he can do anything. Just like Mark, he is extremely laid back and knows many ways to relax, like meditation, strolling around nature, making Haikus.
Kazuha is also an understanding person, he definitely wouldn't tell you "deal with it" at any problem you can have with your situation, and even supportive about it. Ready to help you to relax and encourage you at any moment!

Generating Ideas and Finding Inspiration for Poems with Herve Comeau Syracuse
For poets, finding inspiration is essential for crafting meaningful and evocative poems. Whether you're an experienced poet or just starting out, generating ideas for poems can sometimes feel daunting. However, with the right approach and mindset, inspiration can be found in the everyday moments, emotions, and observations that surround us. This blog explores effective strategies and tips from acclaimed poet Herve Comeau Syracuse for generating ideas and finding inspiration for poetry.
Observing the World Around You
One of the most effective ways to find inspiration for poetry is by observing the world around you with a keen and curious eye. Take time to notice the details in your surroundings – the sights, sounds, smells, and textures that make up your environment. Pay attention to the beauty in nature, the interactions between people, and the nuances of everyday life.
Moreover, explore different settings and environments to spark your creativity. Visit parks, cafes, museums, or any place that resonates with you, and immerse yourself in the sensory experiences they offer. By observing the world around you with mindfulness and openness, Herve Comeau Syracuse says you'll soon discover a wealth of inspiration for your poetry.
Tapping into Emotions and Experiences
Emotions and personal experiences are powerful sources of inspiration for poetry. Allow yourself to tap into your own emotions and experiences – joy, sadness, love, heartbreak, nostalgia, or any other feeling that moves you. Reflect on significant moments in your life, memories, relationships, and encounters that have left an impact on you.
Furthermore, don't be afraid to explore complex or difficult emotions in your poetry. Writing about your vulnerabilities and struggles can be cathartic and deeply resonant for both you and your readers. Herve Comeau Syracuse says that by delving into your emotions and experiences with honesty and authenticity, you'll create poetry that is deeply personal and emotionally evocative for your readers.
Engaging with Art and Literature
Engaging with other forms of art and literature can also provide inspiration for your poetry. Explore different genres of literature, including poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and essays, to expose yourself to diverse perspectives, styles, and themes. Read works by poets you admire, and analyze their use of language, imagery, and symbolism.
Moreover, immerse yourself in other forms of art, such as visual art, music, dance, and film, to stimulate your creativity and spark new ideas. Pay attention to how artists express emotions, convey meaning, and evoke mood through their chosen medium. By engaging with art and literature across a broad spectrum of influence, Herve Comeau Syracuse is confident aspiring poets will expand creative horizons, and find inspiration in unexpected places.
Exploring Themes and Concepts
Exploring themes and concepts that resonate with you can inspire poetry that is meaningful and thought-provoking. Consider universal themes such as love, loss, identity, nature, spirituality, or social justice, and explore how they manifest in your own life and the world around you. Reflect on your beliefs, values, and philosophical inquiries to delve deeper into these themes.
Furthermore, consider exploring abstract concepts or philosophical ideas that intrigue you. Whether it's the nature of time, the meaning of existence, or the concept of consciousness, exploring abstract concepts can lead to poetry that is contemplative and intellectually stimulating. Herve Comeau Syracuse says that by exploring themes and concepts that resonate with you, you'll uncover rich material for your poetry.
Experimenting with Forms and Techniques
Experimenting with different poetic forms and techniques can ignite your creativity and inspire new ideas for poetry. Challenge yourself to write in various forms such as sonnets, haikus, free verse, or prose poetry, and explore how each form influences the tone, structure, and rhythm of your poetry.
Moreover, experiment with different poetic techniques such as metaphor, simile, imagery, symbolism, and wordplay to add depth and complexity to your poetry. Play with language, rhythm, and sound to create poems that are both visually and aurally captivating. By experimenting with forms and techniques, you'll expand your repertoire as a poet and discover new ways to express yourself creatively.
Cultivating a Creative Mindset
Cultivating a creative mindset is essential for consistently generating ideas and finding inspiration for poetry. Nurture your creativity by making time for regular writing sessions, setting aside dedicated time and space for creative exploration. Establish a daily writing routine or practice that works for you, whether it's writing in the morning, during your lunch break, or before bed.
Moreover, embrace curiosity and playfulness in your approach to poetry. Allow yourself to explore ideas freely, without judgment or self-censorship. Be open to experimentation, and don't be afraid to take risks or make mistakes in your writing. By cultivating a creative mindset, you'll foster a sense of curiosity, wonder, and possibility that fuels your inspiration for poetry.
Finding inspiration for poetry is a deeply personal and creative process that requires openness, curiosity, and mindfulness. By observing the world around you, tapping into emotions and experiences, engaging with art and literature, exploring themes and concepts, experimenting with forms and techniques, and cultivating a creative mindset, you'll discover a wealth of inspiration for your poetry. Remember that inspiration can be found in the everyday moments, emotions, and observations that surround you – all you need is to open your eyes, heart, and mind to the possibilities.

WEEK 12 BLOG
This week I read pages 34-64 of the book “Kafka on the Shore” by Harukami Murakami.
The most important sentence of the week can be found on page 50  “You’re not back home anymore, where you can stuff yourself with what ever you like.” Here’s why. After making it to shikoku and making a new friend sakura. Kafka was finally free he was all by himself enjoying the tasty noodles of shikoku. He had reserved three days at a hotel until he can figure out how to get money but for now he had to save up so he can’t be spending money left and right so easily. In the meantime while spending the time he had left of the day he decided to go to a private library called komura memorial library. He loved going to libraries it was like a second home to him. Komura library was a different kind of library it specialized in genre of books by tanka and haiku poets. The library was named after the komura family who had a long background history of being rich before the world war II. This is where he meets saeki who is apart of the komura family she explains the libraries history as well as gives a tour around the library. The day comes to an end and he heads back to the hotel. Throughout this section Kafka is seen exploring shikoku. However, he’s in a budget for three days. the hotel provides food but it’s not enough to fill him up but he realizes that he’s a runaway and has no money to waste. He isn’t back home where he can just buy things and eat food so easily. He’s in the real world now all alone with a minimum budget and no place to live. He has to survive on his own now but he has met a few people that are willing to help like oshima the library assistant. Kafka seems to have a pretty organized schedule which helps him go through each day and seems to have a plan but we just have to wait and see what more obstacles there will be for him.
As I continue to read this book, I start to get more attracted to it each day. This book is a book about a fifteen year old runaway and how he copes with being independent at another city all alone. This book seems to teach us about the real world and how much of struggle it is to survive with so little information or money. As I read I can tell that Kafka has a plan on how to spend the next few days on a budget he has even found a new place that he can spend his free time at as well as some new people he can confine in such as sakura and oshima. As I continue to read, the more intrigued I get. I wonder what else is to come of him after the days at the hotel are over? Will he ever get a job or a new place? These questions starts to come to me and I can’t wait to have them answered.

ga - eun has met a lot of people throughout her life. there was some people who left somewhat of an impression on her, ones that lasted a couple of weeks before she eventually forgot tha names attached to the blurred faces. then there were the people who she forgot the moment they were out of her life. she asked her mother the first time they met if memory loss was the downfall of their powers — they weren't. bunny is different, even the name everyone calls her is so unique. she never met anyone like bunny, immediately fascinated with the other demigod the moment they met. she feels her heart wrapped around bunny, searching for her the moment she steps outside the aphrodite cabin and falling into step with the other demigod when she finds her. ga - eun has never had a best friend before. is this what it feels like? it's calming to be around bunny, looping her arm through the other's despite how awkward of an angle it might be because ga - eun is clingy and giddy over the fact she found a good friend — her best friend. "that's nice of you to think of my sisters, but think how awful it'd be to sleep on a smelly bed." ga - eun pinches her nose with her free hand. "you'll have bad dreams with a smelly bed," her eyes widen, stars shining brightly in gaze as she witnesses her perfume bottle transform into wine. she excitedly takes the bottle from bunny's grasp, not thinking twice before taking a sip of what once was her perfume. "ooh, did you know you could get rich off of this? not only did you become a lady jesus, but you turned it into really good wine!" she takes one more selfish sip before handing it back to bunny. "i think i could write poetry about you," she confesses. "but i can promise you that it'll be bad. i could do a haiku."

in another universe, bunny and ga - eun are sisters. she can imagine it, so vivid that she can taste the perfume caught on her tongue and smell the scent of the aphrodite cabin trapped in all her clothes. she envisions it often when she's with ga - eun, that love she has for her ( though, her fantasies of being ga - eun's sister —  and therefore, forever entwined and entangled with ga - eun's life —  often fades away with every step she takes from the aprhodite cabin; one must think, eventually, that it is a side effect from sitting in a cabin of pink enchantment that pulls itself like soft, beautiful wool over one's eyes; one must also consider, on the steps of her own cabin, that if it were a sort of enchantment, she wouldn't mind it ), the longing to be connected to ga - eun as more than just a friend. obsession is as much aphrodite's language as it is dionysus', the transition would hardly be a strain. bunny takes the bottle of perfume with an easy smirk, her lips tilting lopsidedly as she clears her throat. "i promised your sisters i wouldn't smoke inside and ruin the smell of their bedsheets," she says, getting comfortable. with a flourish, she waves her free hand around the bottle ( unneeded ) and says, "abracadabra!" and the perfume, once unsafe for ingestion, fades into rich maroon wine. bunny pops the top open and flicks it across the cabin. "cabernet," she informs ga - eun. "do me the honors and take the first sip?"

hollow knight - metroidvania. you hear someone screaming and follow the sound to discover the ruins of a cursed kingdom; now you get to find out what happened here. (it is worse than you expect, and will give you depression.) despite the cute cartoon bug art style it’s a gothic horror/dark fantasy/tragedy, the gameplay is difficult, and there’s a lot of casual gore/body horror. has some pretty intense subject matter so look up content warnings to see if this one is for you. the story is very dense and delivered breadcrumb style, so people tend to come out of this one either interpreting it as a paean to lost empire like breath of the wild, or as an anticolonialist story inspired by australian history depending on what lore they find and what lore they believe/characters they find sympathetic.
haiku the robot - metroidvania also. you’re a little robot who just started up, exploring the virus-ravaged postapocalyptic robot country of arcadia. as you explore, a veiled computer tower recruits you to help restore balance to the land. if hollow knight’s gameplay is too difficult or its storytelling style is too obtuse, haiku is a great alternative. (also a game u should play if you like hollow knight and want more of the same!)
spiritfarer - resource management sim. the boatman of the river styx has retired and now it is up to you and your cat to look after the spirits of the dead until they’re ready to move on. it’s kind of a game about hospice care and very much involved with death and grief.
omori - horror rpg. you’re a young shut-in who’s spent years living in your own head and are about to move away from your childhood home when an old friend shows up to give you a chance to reconnect with people who were important to you, one last time. also has some intense subject matter (and potential jumpscares) so look up content warnings if you think you might need them.
gris - platformer. you’re traversing landscapes symbolizing the stages of grief to process something terrible that happened to you. similar vibes to journey but less opaque/more character-driven.
eastward - adventure game. a miner living in a decaying subterranean town discovers a little girl and adopts her as his daughter. the surface of their postapocalyptic town is said to be cursed, but the girl insists it isn’t, and one day shenanigans lead to father and daughter leaving their town to travel the weird and beautiful world. great use of double protags, very mother 3 influenced.
tunic - adventure/puzzle game. you are a little fox exploring a big and dangerous world while reassembling the instruction manual to the game you inhabit. most of this game is in a phoneme-based conlang so if you’re interested in the story i’d recommend having someone get the language chart for you so you can read stuff but still go in unspoiled. or try to decode it yourself if you’re a linguist!
chicory: a colorful tale - adventure/puzzle game. you are a little dog living in a coloring book world, and through shenanigans you become wielder of the brush, an artifact that allows you to bring color to the world around you! problem: you are not an artist, you are just an art fan. now you must battle your anxiety and impostor syndrome while trying to fill your predecessor’s big shoes.
celeste - platformer. you are trans and full of anxiety but you are going to climb this ding dang mountain anyway!!! walks a thin line of being super challenging and super forgiving gameplay wise via accessibility options.
start again start again start again: a prologue - rpg. you’re a member of the hero’s party and are almost to the last boss. also, you’re stuck in a time loop, unable to defeat that last boss! heavy emphasis on feelings of isolation and alienation as your character tries to hide the situation from the party. the sequel in stars and time will be out in ‘23.
umineko - visual novel. a young man returns to his rich family’s secluded island to see his cousins while the parents discuss finances; naturally, things turn to tragedy as a gruesome series of murders begin. meanwhile, the young man debates a self-proclaimed witch over whether this story is mystery with a human culprit or fantasy with a witch one. massive doorstopper, cw everything you could possibly imagine; also, a 500 level on creative writing, literary criticism, and the spirit of the mystery genre.
By the way I'm looking for very specific games and your help is appreciated! Please let me know if you know a game which has one or several of the following criteria:
- Games that are overall poetic and story-driven
- Games about grief, mourning and/or depression, anxiety
- Games that feel like an experience and that you wish you'd be able to delete your memory to play again because you'll never feel the same
- Games that made you cry
