33 and 34 for any of the characters in the sinners (or the virtues, whoever u wanna talk abt more :D)
So the funny thing is, there's a canonical repository on notable characters/POIs that is being held by "The Head Archivist of the Daybreak Institute" (coughcough its one of the 7sins) where after each little official description there's a small sort of footnote/sticky note from said Head Archivist detailing their more interperseonal feelings on said characters (i might add a snippet but the thing is barely started)
hmm I think I'll do Nerzhan and Alexander. Been thinking about those two the most as of recent
33. How would other characters describe your character?
The first thing you would notice/hear of about Nerzhan, if you yourself was a character within HaTFS, is the tall, rather slender figure that leans upon a cane (This is Nerzhan, not Jubilee, the Leader of the Seven Sins Task Force). If you knew she was Jubilee, you'd be surprised since Jubilee very much moves around during combat. Well, with the power of combat prosthetics and adrenaline she can mitigate the pain as much as she can and fight. She still prefers to use a cane though
The next thing people oft comment about is her eyes. Though she doesn't have any irises, the gaze is piercing enough that just a glance in the general direction is enough to send someone into unease. People comment about how there's a faint purple hue but with how shit has been going for the past few years? they don't bother asking
A lot of people will also note the flowers in her hair. They often resemble sakuras, but people will note that they often also appear as other vaguely pink flowers
If you ask someone what they think of Nerzhan, they might say religous, cunning, but sensible. If you ask someone closer, they'd add that she is kind but a little skeptical (they'd say she has her reasons)
The first thing people will say about Alexander is that he is beautiful and solitary. They will note the bored look on his face, the way he avoids others, the way his skin is soft and clear and how his hair curls in just the right spots, how he is both slender and muscular and "too perfect in the physical sense"
The next thing people commnet on that they are always holding something. Often a cigarette, but sometimes a glass or his phone or this weird chain piece he'll play with. He'll twirl his fingers through his hair sometimes
If you ask others what he is like, they'd say he is aloof, a bit haughty, a bit unsociable, mysterious and doesn't like flirting but a fun guy to be around. If you ask those closer, they'd say he likes his peace, isn't afraid of speaking out, and is fun and actually nice
34. How would the character describe themself?
Nerzhan would call herself religous, first thing's first. Maybe she wouldn't say it aloud at first, but you would be able to infer it from the fact her favorite hobbies are going to church (and morning walks and flower art and card games with randos online) and her favorite songs seem to be from church (Magnificat and her church's rendition of anima cristi)
She tries to be a little less obnoxious about her religion, after Mara and Atticus and Dehlia have asked her too at least
(Pride, Nerzhan, Jubilee, the Envoy of Lucifer, the one who fell from grace as he betrayed God, an ardent believer in the faith Lucifer lacked)
Nerzhan wouldn't say much else about herself, honestly. Well, if prompted, she'd elaborate on the flowers. She'd say they represent the people she trusts, but she won't elaborate any more
Just uh- don't ask about the cane. If she trusts you enough, she'll tell you, but if not you might feel the weight of her glare directly targeted at you
Alexander (Andy, if you know him well) talks with those he doesn't know like he's walking a tightrope of being friendly and on the verge of his patience. Andy describes himself as a loner, someone who doesn't like being around people, but he likes smoking and a good drink and making good drinks so he's a good chat
And then you ask him about love
If you're distant, the question people most likely ask them is "I'm free tonight if you know what I mean" or some variation thereof. That is when Andy gets just a teensy bit violent
He's not really a fan of romance (or sex). Not exactly in the media he watches, but moreso in his personal life. He's aroace, and he won't say that to a stranger, but (despite his more known identity as Adonis, the Envoy of Asmodeus, Lord Demon of Lust,) he is not interested in any of that.
If anyone tries to make a move on him he'll shut it down immediately. If the other is persistent, he'll get away or accept and just not follow through. He has his preferences.
However, someone close has asked Andy what love means to him. He's always said that love to him is nothing romantic. Love, to him, is all the little moments, the pieces of devotion, the desire to actually spend time with someone
bonus something: Michael Michaels
This man is going to be just a little bit pathetic. Just a teensy bit. He's the best combatant out of all the virtues but he's also just. so tired. He wants to quit his job but he can't cause the sinners have done it and The Commander is basically kinda threatening to fucking murder him if he steps too much out of line so he'll deal with it for now

Top Hazbin Hotel Songs so far: (order not super relevant because I jump a lot between my favorites so it’s hard to have a definitive ranking.)
(Note: ALL the songs were bops. There wasn’t a single one I disliked. I’m just going off which ones hit me the hardest and are now living in my head.)
1. Stayed Gone- this song is just so fucking catchy. The quick talking of Vox at the beginning is great- displaying confidence while also clearly overcompensating. The music is pretty repetitive at first but in a comforting way, being simple in terms of number of instruments. And then Al comes in and changes it up. I love the way these two argue- Al just roasting the hell out of Vox was great. The rivalry between these two is great and so entertaining to watch.
2. Loser Baby- so cute. Keith David’s voice was amazing. Loved Angel and Husk’s chemistry. Angel’s shock/annoyance at Husk at first is hilarious. Also songs like that and Crooked (from Helluva Boss) really are saying something’s we really don’t hear often enough: that things are a mess sometimes, but that doesn’t mean you’re alone. Both songs acknowledge the messy parts of the characters and both say “I see that, but that doesn’t mean I don’t care for you.” Plus it being in the same episode as Poison? Their messages complimented each other well and kind of closed the story for it.
3. Poison- Blake Roman is just- wow. No words. When this song came out a couple weeks ago I had it on repeat obsessively. We get to see Angel’s internal thoughts- his self-blaming for all the shit that’s happening, and how hopeless he feels. The emotion poured into this is astounding. It was amazing as a stand-alone song, and then the way the show integrated it in episode 4 made it hit even harder. It’s definitely A LOT- but sometimes that’s what makes such hard hitting songs, being so personal.
4. Hell is Forever- Alex Brightman killed it as always. I listened to this one on repeat dozens of times. It’s so insanely catchy. The rock(?) music that comes in to cut Charlie off? Also this song nails in the fact even more than Adam SUCKS. And while this is happening we are delivered the logic behind the angel’s choices- explicitly saying “yeah we don’t care. Murder is fun :)” AND are given the information about major conflict of season- that the extermination day for moved up.
5. Respectless- got brain worms from this. The way Velvette dropped in and changed the whole genre of the song was A W E S O M E. Her and Carmilla both SLAPPED. Also the line “I’m the backbone of the Vees” was just- I just loved the energy of the song. Major Six vibes. I’d love Lilli Cooper to sing more in the show!

I'm very much looking forward to your Stolitz/HB is a bad musical essay. I've had my own thoughts on HH being subpar as far as a musical goes but never really felt like I had the knowledge on musicals as a narrative style nor as a music genre to do it much justice; excited to see you tackle the topic in regards to HB! 🫡
I absolutely understand the hesitation. It isn't like I personally have a masters in Musical Theory, but I think we as a generation have had musical theories subliminally inculcated into our psyche from the sheer amount of exposure that we can understand what makes a good musical and recognize when those qualities are simply not there. No one has reservations talking about how bad Wish was as a musical, and what I am finding in my own deep-dive for this essay is that Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel suffer the same issues as Wish. The lead in music being Sam Haft who is not a musical theatre composer and frankly doesn't understand how musical theatre functions on a fundamental level.
For a small preview of a major point in my essay that I plan on expanding much more, Helluva and Hazbin completely lack an understanding of musical diegesis. This may be a new term for some. Diegesis is most often referenced in how music interplays within a movie or film.
Most of the time the music is not diegetic to the story. When we have big moments in our media with that swelling emotional music, we don't think that there is an orchestra just off screen playing this music for these characters. We are aware the music is an external component to the story. In this way, the music is most often not diegetic to the narrative.
Of course that isn't always the case. Take for example Guardians of the Galaxy and how the films utilize their soundtrack. Starting the movie off, we hear Come and Get Your Love as we would hear any other soundtrack, only for Peter Quill to remove his headphones and the music can be heard playing faintly over them. That makes the song Diegetic.
Another example is Shrek. All of the pop songs in the films are non-diegetic, but there are diegetic songs in, say, Shrek 2 with the Fairy Godmother singing Holding Out for a Hero.
To pull back to more direct inspiration, Happy Day in Hell is nothing more than an embarrassing parody of Beauty and the Beast's opening number Belle. However, Belle is non-diegetic. The Townspeople are singing their thoughts and feelings, but that is not what literally is happening. And Belle turning at the end isn't supposed to be taken as literally the town coming to a halt just to follow her and talk about how weird she is, but that the town as a collective sees her as an outsider and she gets that sixth sense sort of feeling of people judging her. Because they are, they just don't say anything. That is a key crux for the film.
Every single song in Helluva Boss and Hazbin are diegetic. We know this because Vaggie tells Charlie not to sing and we are told by Angel Dust explicitly that Charlie is, in fact, physically singing. Stolas' song ends with Stella telling Stolas to stop singing. Striker, Verosika, Moxxie, Stolas, Fizzarolli, Glitz & Glam, and Asmodeus all sing as a part of a literal performance.
In fact, Hazbin goes out of its way to shoehorn in-universe reasons to have a song rather than just allowing the world to exist in that heightened reality. Additionally, by having the songs explicitly being legitimate songs in the world, we actually face more issues with the world building because on one hand Vaggie is begging Charlie to not sing and is struggling with the secondhand embarrassment, only for the denizens of Hell to join in? Except the world has established that singing is not something people just do. It is the one time the criticism of "Why is everyone singing" and "How do you all know the words?" Are legitimately valid questions.
This all screams insecure and shows a clear discomfort with the genre of musical theatre as a whole. There is no depth of understanding how music in musicals function, just like Wish.
That isn't even touching on how San Haft's lyricism is identical to Wish's worst numbers with how he just borks the internal structure and meter of his songs.

To be FULLY honest...
I just need the Hazbin Hotel score. Not just the soundtrack. The instrumentals. The full score man. I want to relive the heartbreak. I am a music NERD. I love every perfect 4th that was pushing the "devil's" interval when angels were singing. I loved the jazz version playing in the background of every song. Just all of it.
I may be working on a redone "Loser Baby" but in a new key as if they had a confession scene too. And another Charlie and Vaggie instrumental...Yeah. I have a problem.

I really dislike how Sam Haft phrased that latest stolas song as “stolas succumbs to blaming Blitz”
Succumbs to, meaning Verosika, a female character who was nothing but excessively nice to stolas, is being blamed for ‘pressuring’ stolas into his terrible behaviour. But she didn’t know what happened, stolas did. He showed up at that party already blaming him for everything. Verosika is to blame for inviting him and he just “had” to go to not be “rude”? He still went. That was a choice he made.
While Stella, another female character, is blamed for all of stolas’ depression and problems to begin with, and for the grimoire deal itself. As for Via, stolas fans call her an ungrateful brat and cockblocking bitch, after everything stolas has endured ‘for her.’
Every time this man does or says anything terrible, a random woman catches strays just for existing near him. The misogyny of the fandom is going to be palpable come December.
Oh god, you're right and I absolutely hate it. That line was already bad enough given that it's the third time Stolas has "succumbed" to blaming Blitzo, but this one has the added charm of being directly blamed on a woman that Blitzo hurt much worse than he ever hurt Stolas.
