First Ever Ship: In a non-fandom sense, it would have been Fran/Max from The Nanny, who now I’m thinking about it may have very directly influenced the way I drift towards slowburns that are somehow simultaneously very fast-burns; in an at least semi-fandom sense (non-canon queer ship in a show that does and did have a fandom, although it took me a fair few years to come to it), House/Wilson (House MD). I’ve been watching The Nanny more or less my whole life so I can’t give a specific time on that one, but Hilson infected me at age six.

Last Song: Cleaning Windows - Van Morrison. my father played it in the car yesterday and now it’s stuck in my head.

Last Movie: Single All The Way..... what can I say it’s trashy Christmas rom-com season and I didn’t get to watching it last year. Falling For Christmas is next up. 

Currently Reading: The Henchmen of Zenda by KJ Charles - it’s a gay romance adventure alternate POV retelling of The Prisoner of Zenda, a classic pulp novel that I have. never actually read. I am obviously enjoying Henchmen anyway because it’s a KJ Charles novel and I greatly enjoy everything she’s ever written and recommend them if you have even the faintest leanings towards historical queer romance.

Currently Watching: ....i’m rewatching House MD. As you probably know if you’ve been bearing witness to my blogging habits. I’m also watching Abbott Elementary and Leverage: Redemption as they air, and Frasier and The OC. Latter two not as they air, obviously. And I’m rewatching The Nanny as I basically always am.

Currently Consuming: I finished my tea fifteen minutes ago. I keep meaning to get up and make another cup.

Currently Craving: sleep? I’ve woken up before 10am the last three days and we’re on holiday and had a Time of it last night trying to find a hotel at the last minute.

2. Are there any popular fandom OTPs you only BroTP?*

I don't know if there's any OTPs in FC5 that qualify. I mean, I brotp Sharky and Hurk Jr. but I feel like most people wouldn't ship it? I can't personally ship with Joseph, but I have no hate in my heart for anyone who does.

In TOW, I uh... Millsoto makes me see red like Jake's playing Only You for me. (To mix my fandom metaphors whoops.) I'm not trying to stop anyone, by all means you do you! I just do not want to see it.

For Horizon, I have some reservations about Elisabet/Tilda and Aloy/Tilda, though I understand where others are coming from with it.

3. Have you ever unfollowed someone over a fandom opinion?

No. I don't mind having people around with different opinions as long as everyone's respectful about it. That's part of the fun, tbh, hearing perspectives I haven't thought of or don't hold myself. It's just fandom, it's all in good fun, and I respect people having fun differently than I do with the same source. We're all here for a good time.

4. Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?*

Oh my god, yes, many many many times. Not as much in my current fandoms, as those are mostly OC x canon ships, and I'm not going to hate on anyone's OCs. (Not even ones I personally dislike, because again. People are allowed to have their own fun.)

In general, I'm mostly over white-lead mlm ships in any and all fandoms. They simply get too much of the attention pie. I've had my fill of typical slash after so many decades.

If you want some tea, here's some ships from old fandoms I'm sick of: Lassie/Shawn in Psych (why is there no Shawn/Gus, seriously wtf.), Destiel. Destiel. Destiel. I'm glad it was never made canon, y'all can stay mad about it. Nathan/Duke in Haven. It's not valid unless it's an Audrey sandwich. The OT3 is the only valid ship. They're both too in love with Audrey to see anyone else. McDanno in H50. I loved them until that was all that existed. :/

hiii, I have a question and I don't want to sound rude but I've seen some people "shipping" or saying that danny's attracted to harry and I wanted to know if there's some canon "confirmation/hint/whatevs" or it's just a headcanon that a lot of people have just because their own reasons

Don’t worry, that’s not rude at all!

Off the top of my head, the only canon “hint” I could think of for Danny being into Harry would be in 8.03 when Harry is coming out of the water and Danny makes a remark about his tiny shorts that could be interpreted in certain ways (which I recently mentioned in a post, which might have lead to this ask, I guess?), but honestly, I think other people might have more to say about canon in this regard, because I know I’m not the person in this fandom most invested in that relationship. So if anyone wants to add on with their own perspective, please do!

I do think Danny/Harry is fun to explore as a headcanon either way, no matter the canon backing. Harry is that perfect blend of a sympathetic (and age-appropriate!) character who’s unattached and also shows up enough times to be significant but is not around permanently, and on top of that he just... has that Bond-ish quality that makes it seem very plausible he’d hit on anyone who might flirt back. Combine this with Danny’s general tendency to call men babe and tell them how handsome they are, and you get a lot of flirting back and forth, potentially with a very conflicted Steve in the background. That’s good stuff. :p

Edit: Oh, and Harry’s Britishness parallels nicely with Rachel’s, of course! Danny Has A Thing For English Accents is headcanon territory in itself, but could fit nicely into canon, at least.
