You got any headcanons about Gen 5?
It’s my favourite generation of Pokémon :)
So I’m taking this and running with it because you didn’t clarify what kind of headcanons. So Ash is defiantly aged in this one
Cilan is the one who gets Ash into weed. Not even smoking but just edibles.
Ash got his ass rocked by a Seismitoad while fucking around in a muddy pond. it was under the water and he stepped directly on it's head by complete accident. he kept whining about the bruises so Cilan gave him a 5mlg just so he would stfu.
he's introduced to Mario Kart and Sonic somehow in between going through Castelia City and Nimbasa City
Ash has already started to box and dance before he get's to Unova so he ask's if the Nimbasa Twin's wanted to rumble around after their dual battle with him and Cilan.
Emmet refuses but Ingo takes Ash on and quickly becomes he best sparring partner Ash has ever had so far. in the end Ash extends his stay in the city for just a full day of boxing with Ingo, thankful that the man took a day off to do so.
if Alder was asked who he favored the most out of all the trainer's he met during that year, he'd pick Cilan without hesitation. Ash is a close second but Alder doesn't like how quick to anger he is, especially when trip's around.
Unova as a whole is defiantly a trail in patience for Ash. since Pikachu's aren't native to Unova a lot of rich people or influencer's try to put a price on the Pokémon. wanting Pikachu for their own gains.
it take's everything in Ash not to swing at Iris near the middle of their travels because she hadn't dropped the 'kid' thing yet. in reality he doesn't lift a finger but mentally Iris has most likely died at least thrice by now.
the reason why is most likely related back when he was traveling through Kanto and how Misty bit at his heels for acting like such a kid despite Ash being 10 years old. he feels guilty that Misty and Brock both had to grow up fast but that doesn't mean Ash has too. he's learned it's better to let the insult roll off his back and not put to much wind to the flames but Iris just won't give up.
Iris had grown up quickly as well despite being a year and a half younger then Ash and about three years younger then Cilan. she's jealous that could see the world through rose colored glasses and take them off when things start to get serious.
she doesn't realize that she can do that too until much later, like around the time when Ash is in Alola for a time frame, but it's hard for her to do.
both Iris and Ash realize that Cilan's a mean and sassy drunk, he's like a year older then the legal age drinking limit in Unova, until they get knocked out of the league during the final battles. sitting by the green haired chef who's somehow gathered a group of people so they could just shit talk.
it's definitely the first time Iris and Ash has seen this so their off to the side. contemplating on whether or not to approach their friend or not. choosing to just stay in ear shot and keeping Cilan in their eye sights in case the chef bolts off to somewhere.
Ash ends up tasering Trip at some point during the entire Unova arc. no one knows how it happened and Trip actively refuses to even speak to Ash and his friends afterwards for a while.
Ash and Iris originally thought that there was some hella sexual tension between Cilan and Burgundy only to realize that it went deeper then that.
apparently Burgundy liked another connoisseur girl that was a rank above her but that girl liked Cilan instead of Burgundy. the girl publicly turned down Burgundy before going and also publicly asking Cilan for a date.
what Burgundy doesn't know is that Cilan had left mid date after realizing just how bad the girl was. absolutely clueless about what happened to Burgundy.
Iris knows most of the story but Ash is the one who knows all of it. they both agree it's 'not their turf' so they don't bringing anything up.
Ash and Georgia are so neutral towards each other that if they were left alone in a room, it would be completely silent because they would just ignore each other.
Elsa's Tynamo has a thing for Ash's Pikachu after their gym battle and it takes a while to peel the eel Pokémon off of Pikachu after it gets healed up.

well I did it.

calling all Trekkie Submas Fans, probably not a lot of us. lol. anyway enjoy.
All a-Borg is the Tag I'm gonna be using for this one.
---
Chapter one: its a beautiful day outside.
“Ah! What a beautiful day!” Ingo hummed as he stretched his arms over his head as he and Emmet exited Gear Station for their lunch break.
The Sun was shining brightly, and after being down in the artificial lighting for most of the day, he found himself squinting against the harsh light, but its rays were warm on his skin. A light breeze was blowing, keeping it from getting too hot and there wasn't a cloud in the sky.
It was a perfect summer's day. And Ingo was so glad that it was his day to choose what they were doing for lunch. Emmet’s idea of another simple packed lunch with Elesa in their office just sounded unappealing on a day like this. So instead, Ingo opted to meet Elsa at a small cafe by the park, where they could all get a bite to eat and enjoy the nice weather before heading back to work.
“Much better than staying inside all day!” Ingo announced, breathing in the fresh air as they walked towards the park. This would have been the perfect day to spend with his kids if they weren’t staying with their mother in Sinnoh for the summer.
“Yes, if you enjoy the sun in your eyes.” Emmet quips, clearly just salty that his brother hadn't gone with his idea, now he'd have to enjoy some time outside with his brother and best friend rather than take three bites of a sandwich, before jumping back on the doubles line.
But before Ingo could even begin to call him out on it, he spotted Elesa waving to them. “Hey guys! Over here!” The gym leader called out to them from in front of the café. “Great call on having lunch outside today, it's gorgeous out.”
“Elesa!” Ingo called back, raising his hand in greeting. “Yes, Emmet and I were just talking about how beautiful it was out today, and what a waste it would be to spend our break inside.” He Verbally jabbed at his brother as he quickened his step to join Elesa.
“I am Emmet, and I hope you overheat in that black jacket of yours.” Emmet snapped as he moved to match his twin's pace.
The three of them quickly ordered their food and found a park bench under a tree to eat and relax.
“So, how are the boys doing over in Sinnoh? You must be going crazy without them around.” Elesa started off with some simple small talk, as she took a bite of her wrap.
“Zisu is taking them camping up on Mount Coronet, then Flint is taking them to a festival in Sunyshore city, so they're pretty excited. Kind of wish she had given me more of a heads up that she wanted them for the whole summer, but it's hard to say no when I get them the rest of the year.” Ingo explained, making a point to take off his heavy jacket and set it down next to him. “I mean, I miss the heck out of them, but they should get to spend time with their mother too.”
“Oh, a festival, eh? Sounds like Flint trying to muscle his way into favorite uncle” the model teased turning to look at Emmet with a coy smile.
Emmet simply snorted. “As if. I am Emmet, and it will take a lot more to beat me.”
“So, Ingo, when are you planning to finally pop the question?”
“Question?”
“You know, Tie the Knot, get down on one knee, when are you finally going to propose to Zisu? I’ve had this idea for an amazing wedding collection, and I just think it would be perfect for your big day.”
“Okay, for starters, if I got down on one knee in front of Zisu, the first thing she’s going to do is laugh cause she knows I can’t get back up. Second of all, do we even need to get married? I mean, would it really change much? I don’t know if it's a train that’s ready to leave the station.”
“Oh Come on Ingo, you already have two kids with the woman, both of whom are seven. She is a battle fanatic, she thinks you're charming, you two get along like you’ve known each for years and she is strong enough to pick you up and throw you over her shoulder with ease. Lock that shit down already.”
“Look, you should probably be talking to her about all this, I mean, there’s a chance she’s not into the idea either. We haven’t really talked much about that kind of stuff, mostly just about the kids, different battles, Pokemon, and maybe going out for a coffee when she flies up to drop the kids off.”
As much fun as it would have been to join Elesa in Tormenting his brother’s fear of rejection, Emmet felt his attention shift away from the conversation as he looked out towards the park.
There were people walking calmly down the path, either taking in the beautiful weather or cutting through on their way somewhere else. A few couples and friend groups lounging on the grass. He even spotted a few trainers here and there playing with their pokemon, it was tempting to maybe get a battle or two in.
It really was the perfect day…
So why did he feel so unsettled?
At first he thought that maybe it was just his fries. Maybe they were just too greasy? Maybe they had too much salt? But as he ignored his food, the feeling only seemed to grow, and yet nothing seemed amiss.
With a sigh, he simply shook his head and returned to his food. Maybe Ingo was right, maybe he had been down in the subway tunnels too long, not that he would ever admit it.
So, just closed his eyes, listened to the sounds of his family chatting and the flying types singing.
That’s when he noticed it…
Despite the chatter happening next to him, it was far too quiet.
The flying types that should have been in the trees were completely silent. He couldn’t even hear the sounds from the pokemon that were with their trainers.
It was just so… wrong.
“Hey, what’s going on?” he heard someone call out from a distance.
“Why’s it suddenly dark?” someone else called out.
Emmet opened his eyes, and immediately noticed that bright sunlight that had nearly blinded him earlier, had dimmed considerably, and yet there still wasn’t a single cloud in the sky. So what was going on?
“I don’t remember seeing anything about a solar eclipse today.” Elesa stated as she started to stand up from the bench to see what was happening, and the twins were quick to join her.
All around them, people pointed to the sky, aiming they’re phones towards it as if to get a better look, and once he saw it, Emmet couldn’t blame them.
“What in Arcuses name is THAT!?”
There in the sky, completely blocking out the sun, was a large square shaped object.
It honestly looked a bit silly, looking at it. Like someone had taken a pair of scissors and cut the sun out of the sky, leaving behind a square shaped hole. It just hung there, not seeming to move as everyone in Nimbasa city, maybe even all of Unova, Stared up at it.
“Is that…Some kind of Pokemon?” Ingo questioned as he looked up at the sky like everyone else, titling his head slightly as if that would let him see it better.
“Not one I have ever seen.” Emmet commenting, shaking his head. “It is strange, verrrrry Strange.”
“Maybe it’s an Ultra Beast, like from Alola?” Elesa added, taking a step forward.
There was a green glint from the shape, very small, barely noticeable, but before Emmet could even draw attention to it, Three large balls of energy suddenly came into view.
One struck the Farris wheel over by Elesa’s gym, destroying the wheel and the buildings around it, causing Elesa to scream out in Horror. The Second struck the small stadium, and the final few off towards Castelia. And as each one found its target the ground shook.
“It’s Attacking!?” Ingo shouted over the screams that started erupting, “We need to get Everyone to Safely!”
Emmet nodded but before he could even move the air seemed to shimmer with a greenish tint, and bodies started to form from thin air.
They looked oddly…Human?
Humans with metal, wires, tubes, and devices seemingly grafted to their bodies, Emmet could even see one who’s entire low face had been replaced with tubes and metal. Their skin looked sickly pale covered in sweat and not a hair on their heads.
And there were hundreds of them, from what he could see.
Ingo and Emmet shared a quick look between them.
Was this some kind of new gang like team plasma?
“WE ARE THE BORG!” they all spoke at once, in complete unison. Their voices came from all around and Emmet quickly realized there were far more than he originally thought. “Lower your weapons and surrender yourselves. Existence, as you know it, is over. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your Culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is Futile!”
At that moment, all the ‘Borg’ started to move at once, marching forward at a calm pace towards the nearest person.
At first, the only movement made was a simple backstep to try and put a bit of distance.
Some people tossed out pokemon, but the Borg did not reply in kind.
Some people tried to talk to them, but the Borg did not respond.
One person even ran up to one and punched them in the head, a brave or stupid move, Emmet was unsure. But it did get a reaction, as the Borg swung around with a hand that looked like it belonged on the end of a crane and knocked the poor foolish soul to the ground, before kneeling over them.
At that moment all Hell broke loose, as panic started to arise and people started to try and flee.
Once more, the twins shared a look, the plan had not changed, they needed to get people to safety.
“Elesa!” Ingo called over the crowd with ease, snapping their friend out of her stupor. “Guide as many people to Gear Station as you can, We will cover your retreat!”
“What?! Are you guys crazy?! I’m not leaving you to fight alone!” She cried back, tears still running down her face causing her makeup to run.
“Someone strong needs to lead them there, the Borg, or whatever they seem to be swarming the city.” Ingo added.
“I am Emmet, and we will be fine. We will meet you verrrry soon.” Emmet Urged her on, moving to stand next to his brother as he pulled Eelektross’s Pokeball from his belt.
For a moment, Elesa looked like she was going to argue, before pulling a pokeball from her coat and starting ordering people to follow her. “You two better be there” Emmet heard her mutter before she took off down the street.
Under normal circumstances, the use of Pokemon against humans was frowned upon, as Pokemon could easily cause lasting damage to a person. But when people like team Rocket and Team Plasma attack cities it was at times the only way to protect civilians. And this was no exception.
“Eelektross! Use Thunder Wave!”
“Chandelure! Use Psychic! Try to keep them away from gates!”
“Galvantula! Electroweb!”
“Excadrill! Dig pit holes under their feet. Keep them from moving!”
At first it was working. They were able to gain some ground and push the horde back. Some trainers even joined their efforts and sent out their own pokemon to fight back as they slowly made their way out of the park.
Borg were falling, left, right and center. either paralyzed or completely unmoving to the ground, possibly dying from the assault of all different types. Others were trapped by the very ground under their feet, completely imobile. Some even hung in the air by forces beyond their control.
It was almost ridiculously easy. They weren’t even fighting back. They didn’t send out pokemon of their own to defend themselves, they probably didn’t have any.
But the Borg kept coming, felting over their fallen with little care.
Suddenly, Pokemon attacks were doing less and less damage. Taking two or three hits just to take down a single Borg.
Every Borg that fell from a ranged attack, was soon replaced with one who didn’t even flinch.
If one fell through a hole in the ground and got stuck, the next one was more careful, or was able to pull themselves free.
And Psychic moves started to have less and less effect.
Soon, the moved without any setbacks from any Pokemon.
Worst of all, their numbers didn’t seem to be falling, instead they seemed to be…growing?
The faces of fellow trainers slowly started to disappear from view. At first, Emmet had hoped that they had taken the chance to escape while they could, but their Pokemon were left behind, alone and confused as to where their trainer went.
That’s when he noticed some of the Borg weren’t as armored as the others, and had little to no mechanical attachments. They had hair, and clothes, yet their skin was mottle and black veins could be seen.
And their faces…
Emmet could have sworn he’d seen a few of those faces on the Battle Subway. But that couldn’t be…could it?
Were they turning people?
A hand Suddenly grabbed hold of him, forcing his back to bend backwards as he stared up at the Borg that had ensnared him. It was the face of the trainer who had stood next to him not five minutes ago.
The Borg raised their other hand and Emmet watched in horror as two wire like tendrils broke through the skin and snaked towards his own next.
“EMMET!” Ingo cried as he slammed his body into the side of the Borg, knocking them off their feet and forcing them to release the younger twin.
Quickly, Emmet scrambled away, getting back to his feet before he could be grabbed again.
But as before, the Borg seemed to learn, and Emmet could only watch as he brother was held still by two sets of hands, as a third came towards his neck.
It Happened in seconds, yet to Emmet, it felt like a lifetime.
He watched in horror as wires came out of one the Borg’s arms and sunk deep into Ingo’s neck, and his brother’s body went slack, the colour completely drained from his skin, and black veins crawled their way up his Skin.
The Borg released his brother, and when Ingo looked back at him it was with a cold dead stare as he joined in their march.
“Ingo.” Emmet muttered as his brother started to walk towards him at a steady pace, his skin becoming paler and more sickly with every step. “Ingo, Please.”
But there was no response, his brother just continued forward.
“Ingo, I don’t know what they did to you, but I’m sure it can be undone, please just fight it.” Emmet begged, trying to keep out of reach, now completely aware of the danger that was not in front of him.
Even if that danger now had the face of his brother.
Ingo suddenly grabbed his arm, and pulled him close with surprising strength.
“I am Emmet. Ingo, I know you’re still in there, please.” At this distance Emmet could almost see something moving under his brother’s skin, puppeting him around, changing him. Yet he could also feel the hesitation with Ingo’s movements.
Ingo wasn’t reaching towards his neck, just merely holding him in place and staring at him; tears building up in his eyes and dripping down his face without a single blink or twitch of his face. Emmet got the feeling he couldn’t even begin to understand the horror his brother was feeling right now.
“Ingo.”
“StarFleet” The Borg all spoke at once, Ingo’s voice joining their unity. “Initiate tactical retreat”
The hand holding onto his arm released without warning, and Emmet stumbled back, watching as the air started to shimmer once more with that greenish tint around all of the Borg, brother now included with the mix, as they all started to dematerialize into thin air; leaving only bodies and destruction behind.
Emmet stood there, dumbfounded, staring at the exact spot Ingo had been standing moments before. His hands shook from what he just saw, only to be nearly blinded by the sun as the square shaped object disappeared from the sky.
“Ingo?”

Note
If your main 10 OCs were Pokémon gym leaders, what would their gyms be?
Okay, well considering most of them already have an elemental magic “type” to them, but I’ll be creative here. Also please note the Unova region was my first and is still my favourite so most Pokémon used are from there. They live in a neighbouring region just NorthEast of Unova where most Pokémon spill over, and there are overlapping Pokémon from other regions.
Easily enough, Rex and Ted would share a gym and it would be the fire-type gym. They’re the Fire Twins, after all. Assuming their gym would be the first one, then you’d have to fight them both at once. To travel the gym, one would have to press switches to turn off the flamethrowers that block your path. There would be three other gym trainers, each with a Pansear. Rex’s line-up would be Charmeleon, Ponyta and a Lillipup. Ted’s line-up would be Houndour, Darumaka and also a Lillipup. (They got the Lillipups together, it’s their starters)
The second gym would be Hami’s. Her specialty is rock and ground types. In order to travel her gym you’ll need to have rock smash HM, and there would only be two other trainers, one with a Sandshrew, the other with two Roggenrola. The gym is a cave-like maze, and every so often, wild Zubats and Woobats show up, although they’re very low-level so they aren’t too hard to get past. Hami’s line-up would be Boldore, Sandile, and of course her very first Pokémon, her beloved Sandslash.
After Hami’s gym you would travel North to where it’s icy and cold, to Ivy’s gym. Her specialty is ice Pokémon, but it’s also dog-like Pokémon. Her gym would be an ice-rink, of course, but each trainer within has a Herdier and a Cubchoo. There are three levels and each level has two trainers to battle, except for the one right before Ivy. He has a Vanillite and two Spheals. Ivy herself has an Alolan Ninetails that she got as her first Pokémon when she used to live in Alola. Her other pokemon is a female Absol.
Fourth would be two towns that are so close together, their gyms are right next to each other, each one on the outskirts of their own town. They are called Earth and Sky, and you have to defeat Earth before you can fight Sky. The gyms belong to Tweet and Elsa respectively of course. Tweet’s team are all grass types of course. In his gym, you have to climb the green vines to go up a level, and slide down the blue vines. There are ten other trainers in his gym with various grass Pokémon. Tweet’s team is his beloved Servine, a Simisage, and two Budew that he nicknamed Buddy and Pal.
Elsa’s gym you can only take one after you prove to her you’re ready. Assuming it’s a regular Pokémon game, you do that after a run-in with the Team that kidnaps Ducky and her Caterpie. After you help Elsa and Tweet save Ducky and Caterpie, Elsa let’s you challenge her gym. Elsa’s gym is a flying type gym, and has paintings of various bird Pokémon all over the place. Elsa travels the world painting different bird Pokémon of each region. Each painting is done by her. Some of the paintings have a hidden door to the next room. You have to choose the right painting that answers riddles you’re given. Behind each correct door is a trainer with the Pokémon on the painting you just passed through. Elsa’s team is her two Unfezant, one female one male, a Swanna, and her darling Noctowl.
Sixth gym leader is Kyle Wu. His element is usually weather, but that doesn’t really match up well to Pokémon types (except flying, but that was easily Elsa’s), so I give him the electric gym. His gym would be a huge chasm that you have to step on the right clouds to pass. Step on the wrong cloud and it will poof, sending you falling to the safety net below, where you have to take an elevator back to the start. I’m not sure what the clouds would be, like how you know the right from the wrong ones but there would probably be like a puzzle or something. Anyway, Kyle Wu’s line up would be an Emolga, a Zebstrika, a Luxray and a Manectric.
The seventh gym would be Victoria’s. She would be a dark type leader I feel. Her gym would not have any other trainers, and it would be in a haunted mansion where wild dark and ghost type Pokémon would be. You’d have to follow a maze of clues to find seven switches that will open doors for you. The last switch opens a door to Victoria. Her lineup would be a Scrafty, a Liepard, Zoroark, and an Umbreon. Her gym would also be located outside of town, down a long grassy road, so trainers should pack lots of potions.
The eighth gym is Damien’s and he would be, surprise surprise, a dragon gym leader. It’s either that or fire, and fire has been claimed. Damien’s gym would be a dark building lit only by fire torches on the walls. Ace trainers will be hanging around with various Axew and other dragon types. The building has no special tricks besides that. Damien would be sitting upon a throne when you arrive to fight him. His Pokémon team are a Haxorus, Hydreigon, Garchomp, Dragonair and a Salamence.
Ming COULD be the champion, but to humour you, if she had her own gym it would be Normal Type or Water Type, and she would have the very first gym because as much as she has powerful Pokémon, she also loves to care for the little ones and raise them and give them love. Ming prefers to travel anyway and switch her Pokémon each in turn, and wouldn’t be happy as a gym leader. She has beaten all the others though.
Anyway, that’s the line-up.
The Champion is Sky.

Heathers Pokemon AU Part 2 (2/?)
I ran out of room lol and I barely made it halfway through one part
Continuing from where I left off
Palafin bc Zero to Hero is Percy's story, and then I chose pokemon with swords kinda and then those which are kinda derpy
Next is Northshore City with the Fairy-Type Leader, Regina George
Her Daddy paid the Pokemon League to have his daughter be the leader
Chandler sees so much of her old self in Regina and knows that she doesn't want to be like that anymore, but its hard to resist it
Her puzzle is to throw a party, because even Pokemon trainers need to have fun sometimes
She actually giggles with delight when she heard this, it beats sitting in the woods by a long shot
She starts to get back into her old habits while planning, bossing around Duke and Mac and being abrasive, even to her own Pokemon which she just swore to be nicer too
Veronica is the one who calls her out on her bullshit and she realizes that she's reverted back into her old self
She apologizes profusely to everyone and throws a party instead for her friends and pokemon, who have helped her and stayed by her side even when she was being a total bitch
She even baked a cake from scratch, which was the first time she ever actually made something for anyone
Regina wanted to fail her (cause like wheres the booze, and who tf likes corn nuts) but the League Officials think its cute so she's forced to pass
Regina's Team: Grimmsnarl, Aromatisse, Shiinotic, Mega Mawile, Clefable, Granbull
I really tried to pick out the most mean looking fairy types, but cmon its the fairy type its mean to be all girly and cute
Next is Arendelle City with the first Double Gym Leaders, being the Fire-Type Leader Anna and the Ice-Type Leader Elsa
Again not really a musical but I like the broadway adaptation so idc
They're sisters, separated when they were young because of an accident involving Elsa's Alolan Vulpix
Elsa became afraid of pokemon for a while because of what they did to her sister, the person she cares most about, but her parents wanted her to become a gym leader, because unlike other towns the Arendelle Gym Leader position is hereditary
So she was forced to face her fears day after day while her parents did nothing to soothe her or reassure her
Eventually they died (not fast enough in Anna's opinion, who was forced to see her sister go through her worst nightmare every day and who was ignored for the most part, on top of not being allowed to see her)
When it came time for her to take the position Elsa ran away only for Anna to chase after her and have a heart to heart
Eventually with her help Elsa was able to let go of her fear and her and Anna took joint custody of the position
(Yeah Ik its similar to Lillie from the anime, no I will not be taking criticism at this time)
Their puzzle is to do an act of True Love, because you need to take care of those that you care about, be they your family, partner(s) or Pokemon
Chandler decides its now or never to invite Veronica into the polycule
With the other Heathers and Gym Leader's help she sets up a date for Veronica under the disguise of it being her gym puzzle
They do everything she loves, they go bookshopping, seeing the sights of Arendelle, visiting Museums and talking to the historians (this makes Chandler want to bang her head against the wall but she perseveres) and eventually she asks Veronica to join
Obviously she says yes bc the Heathers have really shown they're not the bitches she remembers from high school, they've changed and she wants to spend the rest of her life with them blah blah romance
Anna's Team: Arcanine, Talonflame, Coalossal, Mega Blaziken, Salazzle, Ninetales
Elsa's Team: Cryogonal, Froslass, Aurorus, Mega Abomasnow, Baxcalibur, Alolan Ninetales
Most people think this gym is easy bc Anna's fire pokemon set up the sun which will allow them to easily take Elsa out and focus on her but they've developed a strategy where only one half of the field is covered in sun and the other in snow, making any unprepared challenger's strategy fall apart
For their teams, I just picked whatever really lol, besides the Ninetales, I think each of them having one is a cool idea
Finally, they reach Shiz City, home of the final leaders, The Psychic-Type Leader Glinda Upland and the Flying-Type Leader Elphaba Thropp
They're just good friends *wink wink*
Glinda was groomed by "The Wizard", a member of the E4 (Yes they are all manipulative scumbags) into being his representative in the Gym Leader circuit, similar to Jeremy and the SQUIP
Elphaba saw right through this and stopped it dead in its tracks and then they did the kiss
#Gelphie it should have been canon
'The Wizard' is trying to have them removed and has started a smear campaign against Elphaba, making accusations based on her skin (still green) and trying to get back into Glinda's good graces
Their puzzle is to do something good, because generosity is the most important aspect of being a member of society
Chandler struggles for a while trying to think of something she can do
She really wants to make up for her past mistakes, and with Veronica's urging she decided to make up with Martha on behalf of the Heathers and the rest of the student body
Martha is of course, furious and refuses her apology and any number of gifts
Her and Veronica have made up by this point but they're still on thin ice and won't listen when she tries to tell her how they've changed, and it doesn't help that she's started to date the people who used to bully her
Eventually Chandler gives up and says that she doesn't care what Martha thinks, and that she has changed and has made efforts to be a better person and as for Veronica, she finally tells her what actually happened they day they met and the fact that Veronica, who at that point Martha knew hated the Heathers, put herself into harm's way for them, makes her come more in line with Veronica's line of thinking that everyone still has some good in them and she is willing to hear her out
Things aren't great between them still but Martha no longer actively despises them, its a start
Glinda's Team: Hatterene, Xatu, Gothitelle, Mega Gardevoir, Starmie, Delphox
Elphaba's Team: Staraptor, Drifblim, Corviknight, Mega Salamance, Mandibuzz, Crobat
For Glinda I tried to pick out the most witchy, magicky kinda Psychic Types
For Elphaba, the only ones I really put too much though into were Salamance, bc it used to be this Bagon who wanted more than anything to fly kinda like Defying Gravity and Crobat bc its a friendship evo and I would imagine Elphaba is the type to be really loyal and trustworthy with her pokemon
So at this point the plot kicks in and the E4 and Champion, who surprise is Big Bud Dean, head of Team Rocket launch their plan
They use BBD's demolition company front (his 3rd job after being Champion and Team Rocket leader, don't think about it too hard) to try and bomb out land to search for the resting place of legendary pokemon to use to get power
They succeed in finding some and its up to the gang to take them out
Elite 4:
'The Wizard' - Rock Type; Glimmora, Drednaw, Kleavor, Mega Aggron, Gigalith, Terrakion (All of these are shiny besides Terrakion, bc theyre all green shinies, Emerald City)
'The SQUIP' - Poison Type; Seviper, Toxtricity-HK, Revaroom, Mega Venasaur, Sneasler, Pecharunt (Pecharunt is literally the SQUIP, it uses something you injest to take control of you and make it do your will)
Aaron Burr - Dark Type; Umbreon, Zoroark, Hydreigon, Mega Gyarados, Kingambit, Darkrai (Umbreon is a stalling pokemon and Kingmabit is best when used last, like Burr's philosophy of waiting for it, and Hydreigon and Gyarados represent the rage built up in him)
Luke Castellan - Fighting Type; Falinks, Toxicroak, Heracross, Mega Gallade, Sirfetch'd, Marshadow (All kinda have swords)

Diamond In The Rough ch15 Settling Down In Circhester P4
Tumblr media
Gordie paused and he slowly looked up to Elsa. "It's okayin' my transfer to where?"
Her response was to turn the paper around with the official seal and the fancy writing and held it up to his blinking face. "It's okayin' our temporary transfer to the Pasio Region! You've been chosen to compete in the Masters League!" A bright smile was beaming on her face and her eyes were starry like, "Well...actually only you an Mum's been chosen."
Her big brother didn't answer at first instead taking the letter from Her and immediately opened it, breaking the seal and opening the folded paper to let eyes dance across the words plastered across it. It was thick too. The reason why was because there was already a passport, cruise ticket, and everything else he needed to take a trip overseas along with the very long and very detailed explanation from the Chairwoman in the letter for the Masters League and that he'd be going to Pasio for-....
"A whole year!?"
Elsa perked up hearing Gordie's voice and found her big brother staring at the paper wide eyed in disbelief. "Wha- No. Just ten months but almost a year! And you're leavin' at the end of this month! Isn't it exciting, Gordie?"....She blinked as Gordie still stared at the letter in his hands. "Oi! Are you alright?"
Gordie finally blinked to her before opening his mouth, closing his mouth, and then looking back to the letter. "I-...Y-Yeah..I'm good." He beamed a smile at her again. "This is great news, Elsa! C'mon. H-Help me hang up these tinsels then we can set up the Christmas tree."
He distracted himself by setting up the Christmas decorations and having dinner with his family before taking time out to actually look at everything he was sent. The Prince had found his battling exceptional and thus had picked him along with a few other Gym Leaders, his mother included, to come compete in the Masters League. And they were leaving right after the Christmas holiday. His FIRST Christmas he wanted to celebrate with YOU!! He wasn't expecting this so soon! How was he even supposed to break the news to you!? Well...Turns out he had to break it to you sooner rather than later when you came to visit him unexpectedly and by then he decided to rip off the band aid and tell you what exactly was going on. Your reaction was as expected when he showed you the official letter from the Chairwoman and felt guilty as your face went from happy to shocked.
"W-What!? You're gonna be gone for THAT long!?"
"Y-Yeah." He rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly and guiltily. "*sigh* It's not like I was expectin' it either." He felt terrible about all of this. He wouldn't be there to watch you graduate or spend New Years' Eve with you or spend so many other holidays with you. "But..This 's a big opportunity for Galar and for everyone else. I-...I was thinkin' about it and I think it would be best if I went, but I couldn't leave without tellin' ya."
"W-What about your brothers and sister?," you pointed out, "With both of you gone, who's going to look after them? And your gyms?"
"Dontcha worry. We already got our workers ta look after the gym, an' as for my sibs, a good family friend of my ma's is comin' over to watch 'em all for us! She's really great with kids and has watched them before. So they'll be well taken cared of. It's...I-It's what you thought about all this that worried me the most. Long distance in a relationship d-doesn't sound like something you'd like."
You nodded. "You're right. It's not something I like." He seemed to look dejected for a second before you reached out for him. One hand grabbing his and the other coming up to cup his cheek to make him look at you again. "But it shouldn't make you not want to go. I want you to go if you want to! I think you'd be great out there in the pokemon league! I love you and I won't hold you back."
With each word you spoke, his eyes went wider and wider until he stared at you like an owl. Until he smiled, chuckled, and allowed himself to lean into your hands. "Now I know why I fell for ya in the first place.~ I love ya so much."
"I love you too. And I want to do something to make things less stressful for you."
"Jus' spend time with me," he answered pulling your hand closer to his heart and leaning into your own touch. "That's all I ask for. It's all I want for us."
"Then that's what I'll do. In fact, I'll do you one better."
Something soft grabbed his hand and he froze still staring at the snowy ground beneath his feet. A sight he was hesitant to leave when he turned back to look at you again. Huh. And you were both closer than he remembered. Just a few inches from one another twinkling under the lights. And you blinked at the sudden closeness too. Face going a dim pink and a few chuckles from the moment escaping you. Barely anyone was outside now, or pokemon for that matter. So it was just you two. Alone out here with nothing but each other for company. His mind felt completely blank and numb but in a good way, compelling him to reach his hands up and cup a cheek of yours something his rational brain wouldn't allow himself to do. Inches away now. You didn't move away. He stared at the woman in front of him, this woman with the beautifully flowing hair and the cute smile. If he was watching this as an outsider, he would've laughed at how they were literally just strangers less than a while ago, but right now it didn't seem any of that or anything else mattered. The wind blew some more rustling the snowflakes and blowing some of that pretty hair into his face, which he immediately reached to pull away and Y/n made no move to stop him from doing that. Or removing the hand that now cupped her cheek. Maybe it really was a mutual madness they both shared or some form of chaos in their lives, but right now....With them being so close...And so vulnerable. It was only natural of course-.. It's what soulmates do-.. Of course they would since-...
They kissed.
Gordie was leaving. For a full year, and he wouldn't be back until the very next year. You were in shock when he first broke the news to you, then heartbroken. You guys were just starting out and now he had to go away for another full year!? It wasn't fair! But there wasn't anything either of you could do anything about it. After all this was a big opportunity for him and it was an honor to compete in the very first ever Master's League so...You understood. That doesn't mean you didn't like it though. Gordie was one of the first Galar gym leaders to leave. He had one month to prepare to go on this extended trip so he spent it filling out the required paperwork, packing, and spending as much time with you and his siblings as possible. That's right. You weren't the only one who was upset he'd be gone for such a long time. And then soon it was time for him to leave at the end of the month. He'd be heading to Hulbury to catch a ship which would take him to the Pasio Region. Almost all of Circhester had gathered to see off their gym leaders which was filled with a few congratulations and goodbyes. He made sure to hug the triplets and Elsa good bye.
"Keep an eye on the gym and don't worry about paying the staff alright? The Chairwoman's already taking care of that for me. Be good for Auntie Sally ok?," Melony was fussing over her children like any mother would.  "Don't be out late and don't go anywhere without telling Auntie Sally first. You just make sure you do good in school and don't let Snowball in the house again! "
He then turned to you when all was said and done and you two stared at each other for a silent moment, before he held his arms out offering you a hug and you gladly took it wrapping your arms around his middle and him hugging you back.
"And YOU be careful living out there," he mumbled, "I don't want you getting hurt again and I can't be here to help you. Just the thought of that happenin' makes me mad I gotta go. If ya need anythin' call me. I don't care 'bout the stupid Masters League. I'll swim across the ocean and come back if I have too."
You chuckled. "Don't be so dramatic. I'll be fine. You just go and show everyone what you can do. Besides it's only until next year right? It won't be that long."
Although it would sure feel like it. He then left. Picking up his suitcase and giving the crowd one last good bye before he entered the taxi and took off for Hulbury leaving you to stand there and just watch it before it faded into the tiniest black speck, and then into nothing.
The following months were peaceful but almost bland and boring as you settled into a routine. Get up, go to school, get homework done, and then come back home. All day every day. You still on instinct looked over your shoulder expecting Gordie to be knocking at your door any moment to visit but he never did and you would feel disappointed. You still gone off in your life. Most of the hard assignments was over. School didn't end until around the end of February so those last two months of school kept you busy and helped to keep your mind off things, and it all went ok. Gordie had left one last gift to you before he left, he had message your battle studies teacher and attested to witnessing you catching three of your pokemon which was proof enough to help you pass that assignment. You'd be sure to make up that kindness to him later when he came back. But soon even the classes were over and you had to bid good bye to Topaz as you moved on out of the dorms and back into the hotel to await your notification from the school for your grades and when your graduation ceremony would be, which turns out took two months to be settled. In the middle of March, waiting there to be called on stage from within the front of the school building just to get that small piece of paper from Mr. Flake. You weren't too bothered by it. It was just like your highschool graduation after all. You also thought you saw Elsa in the crowd but you were probably just seeing things. Which left you with trying to figure out what was left to do while waiting for Gordie to return, so you prayed to Arceus to give you something to do other than continue your job at Bob's Your Uncle and living in a hotel room waiting for Gordie to return. And as if Arceus himself was listening, you found the best answer you could ask for.
You were just passing by it on your way to work one morning, and you saw the 'For Sale' sign in the window of the local bakery which doubled as someone's home. When you asked the owner about it, turns out they were retiring and selling their home/bakery to move somewhere warmer. This was-...This was it! This was your chance! So OF COURSE you offered to buy the place from the owners before anyone else could, and you thanked Arceus every night when the title of ownership was soon sighed over and placed into your hands. Sure your savings too quite the hit and this place was going to take some work-....Ok. A LOT of work that'd take you a LONG time to get this place up and running again between your job and trying to make this place your own, but things seemed to be looking up for you. So slowly days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months. Spring turned into Summer. Summer turned into Autumn. And Autumn turned into Winter. During all of this the you'd sometimes see one of Gordie's little siblings come to the cafe you still currently worked at, and you made small talk with them and they would relay any more news from Gordie to you. Until one day...one fateful day, you got a call. It was one random day, you were trying to figure out how you were going to hire some construction workers to come and fix up your large kitchen when a familiar ringtone caught your attention as Sparky flew out from your pocket.
"*ZZZZZTTT* Incoming call from Gordie. Do you wish to accept call or decline call?," he asked you.
You stared at him completely stunned. Gordie?....GRODIE WAS CALLING YOU!? You nearly dropped the phone book in your hands in favor of smiling at him. "ACCEPT!! ACCEPT NOW!!" You watched with held breath as the ringing stopped as Sparky accepted the call, "H-Hello!?"
"Y/n?,'' Gordie's voice came through the other side timidly before hearing your voice. "Y/N! My Diamond! Baby! Oh it's so good to hear your voice again!"
"My voice? What about yours?! I haven't heard from you in forever!" You instantly smiled. "Where have you been?!"
A tired sigh came from the other side. "It's a long story. There's been a lot of bandits and villains in this region this last year-"
"Villains and bandits!?"
"D-Don't worry! Everyone's ok, but a lotta the events have been pushed back because of 'em. That's why it's been takin' longer than usual for us to come home. I just wanted to call and make sure you were aware o' that."
Ah. That made sense...you guessed. "Well...at least it's all handled. But when are you all coming home?"
"That's just it! That's the good news! We're comin' home in two months!"
"T-Two months!?" Your draw practically dropped in both shock...and absolute happiness. "T-T-That soon!? You mean it!"
"Yeah! That soon! *sigh* It's gonna be so good to see you and my family again...I miss you so much."
"I miss you too."
More time passed. New Year's came and went and you went into January with a much better feeling. Gordie would soon return now, just after December. It made you start putting a smile on your face and a pep in your step again waiting for the day he'd finally return. It seemed all good things were happening to you now. Your bakery was starting to come put together more too, soon you'd actually be able to start baking and selling goods. And then it was FINALLY the end of the year! The day all the Master League finally took place was here and everyone gathered around the cafe including you to watch the hours long battling between trainers and gym leaders and champions from around the world! You saw Piers in one battle and Gloria in another and then there was Gordie who you paid very much attention too. He certainly made it very fair. To the third round in fact before he lost to the Sinnoh Champion Cynthia who proceeded onto the second to last round. It did hurt a little watching him fail so close to the finally but he did make it very, very far into the event and he tried his best which was all that mattered. The entire event ended in a tie between your very own Unbeatable Champion and Cynthia who didn't look the least bit bothered by sharing the winning title with another Champion. And soon after the event was over...Which meant one thing-
GORDIE WAS COMING HOME SOON!!
The thought made you as giddy as a munchlax at an all you can eat buffet. You counted the days as they all started slowly counting down to Gordie's eventually arrival back in Circhester, and then it happened. You were working and it was noon time. There you were just wiping down one of the tables near the windows when you both saw and felt it. People. LOTS of people running down the streets towards the entrance to Circhester and you were confused. Confused you went out of the store to take a look yourself and you froze when seeing it. A GIANT black bird just a little ways in the distance was coming forward towards the town and in it's claws was a taxi. That could only mean one person. GORDIE. Gordie was finally back! Before you could even stop yourself you found yourself running in the crowd all the way towards the entrance to Circhester where the taxi landed and you fought and pushed your way past people to the front as the Taxi door opened and someone with blonde-white hair stepped out and everyone cheered.
A smile graced the man's features as he gave a lighthearted but tired wave knowing the borage of questions and insisting a party be held thrown at him as he and his mother were swarmed by people. Blue eyes darting around before meeting eyes of all colors one after another until a single woman pushed her way to the front and he froze. Panting and tired, f/c eyes looked up to meet long lost blue ones. And the earth stood still for a moment. Neither moving an inch. Before in an instant you felt strong arms wrap around yourself and you gladly returned the warm embrace giving to you held close by the taller man before you. More cheers echoing out.
Soft tears fell from the man's eyes as he softly cried hold getting tighter slightly and a smile appeared on his features.
"My diamond."

It's always easy to hear when Leon or Raihan has come by : not because they use their keys to enter and call out, but because there will be some enthousiastic stomping happening outside as well.
Today too finds Sonia pausing in her typing, looking up from her purple laptop when she hears Elsa's happy sounds of greeting. Two short sounds - seems like it's Raihan who stopped by.
Hitting save on her file, she starts down the stairs to come and greet the visitor, who has been snatched up by the Mamoswine's large trunk as Elsa happily rubs her cheek against the 'captured' gym leader.
As always, her oddly soft, rose scented fur is sparkling in the sun from the heart accessories pinned in place, while her tusks are a bright torqoise with yellow tips today, unlike the pastel green and pink from last week.
Tumblr media
"This happens because you and Lee always bring her snacks, you know." Sonia gives an amused look, leaning in the doorway.

"My diamond."

okay not to continue to bad media post on main but. my mutual asked and i provide:3
:readmore:
red vs blue disney descendants au. the four from the isle r the new republic four, Simmons, Grif, Tucker, n Caboose
-Simmons is the son of syndrome (buddy pine). he kept his moms last name. still a cyborg, but instead from a bad lab accident. thanks to synthetic skin and holograms, he doesn't look cyborgy, but all the isle kids know. a walking ball of neuroses and stress, the isle was Not good for his blood pressure
-Grif, his mom hooked up with Maui right before getting sent to the isle for minor crimes. surprise surprise, shes pregnant! he's a shapeshifter, but only figures that out off of the isle. Kai still exists, but they don't know who her dad is (it's hades). definitely has the whole "i do not care" personality on lock, but secretly cares So Much
-Tucker was raised by the three witches from The Black Cauldron. it's sort of a foster care situation, but it works out well for pretty much everyone. regular human guy, but his plasma sword is the sword that they traded the Cauldron for. in his Chorus era personality wise, and considers himself the leader of their little group
-Caboose, p obviously Gaston is his dad. so now in addition to his 17 sisters, he's got a couple of brothers too lol. definitely too nice for the isle, but since he's a powerhouse, nobody messes with him.
everyone else is an auradon person. Lopez and Sarge are teachers, Lopez teaches Spanish, and only speaks in it as a goal of immersion. Sarge is a gym teacher for every sport we dont see in canon, and also the shop teacher. Both are wary about the concept of the Isle kids, as neither of them taught the original four to come over
-Donut is the son of Aurora and her prince (yes because the pink). he's on the school's sports team. definitely pro isle kids coming over. his older sister Audrey and him don't get along very well, but they're close, though they used to be closer.
-Doc is the son of Rapunzel and Eugene, and maybe sort of has some of her magic healing abilities? they work arbitrarily and Weirdly, but sometimes do. him and Donut are close, and he's a bit more hesitant about the isle kids
-Wash is the son of Anna and Kristoff. excited to get to know new people. his aunt being Elsa means he's a lot more open to people not turning evil just because it's expected of them.
-Carolina is the daughter of Merida, the director is the same in p much every universe tho.. she was raised in a split custody sort of situation, and has Opinions. about everything. she thinks that having VKs come over is going to explode in a fiery mess. she's on pretty much every sports team, and one of the scariest people at the school
-Church is Carolina's younger half brother, and half fairy. no one is Exactly sure how the director actually did that, but he did. definitely hates a lot of auradon's rules, and totally abuses his magic abilities for his own gain. very excited for the VKs to come over and make things Interesting
plotwise, it would be sorta a follow up to descendants 1. well, the first group of Villain kids chose to not be evil, now the next group. they pick a group of, relatively minor, villain kids to bring over. None of whom are at all interested in revenge plots. instead, they are just massive, kinda messed up, dicks. i have no other plot atp.
things i do want to see tho:
-ppl figuring out simmons is an actual cyborg. How. Why. please replace your parts you're rusting
-grif finding out he can shapeshift, and immediately using it to nap. and then finding out who his dad is. this does not cause problems (it does)
-nobody wants tucker to have a sword. except for tucker. and the sword. can you get ESA exceptions for a magical sword that flies? lets discuss
-caboose goes jock mode. caboose is the only one of them actually adjusting to auradon.
-carolina trying to convince people that inviting more VKs over is an absolute Bad Idea until she meets them and realizes that in terms of actual damage, they're Very incompetent
-church attaches himself onto the VK group in his latest bout of rebellion.
-wash, doc, and donut are assigned as their welcoming/guide team to auradon. this is stressful for all of them
not to ough immediately bad post but. red vs blue characters in the Disney descendants setting. (look we all have our comfort medias, mine just so happen to include rainbow skittle assholes w swords and rip-off ever after high). if this post gets two (2) notes, i will release my thoughts on what an rvb descendants au would look like

For diztracshon
This ended up being more challenging to write than originally planned, but I hope you'll enjoy it!
The sun stretched out over the horizon as colours soared and danced over the surface of the water. Wind whipped up Anna’s hair and she immediately regretted not braiding it. Her hand reached down to nervously toy with the pouch fastened to her hip, fingertips seeking out the smooth surface of the precious spheres that had become her lifeblood over the past few months.
She squinted, blinded by the glint of the light, brows furrowed as she leaned forward against the railing of the deck. She could see what she assumed to be the outline of the distinctly shaped mountain on Ula’ula as the ship inched towards the Alolan archipelago.
Two years.
Years that had felt like decades, since the day Elsa had walked out on their family home with no way to reach her. All she’d left behind was a letter addressed to Anna and a premier ball (along with its inhabitant).
She’d read and re-read the note so many times, nights spent crying over it, desperately clutching it to her chest as she’d gone out into the world and celebrated her 20th and 21st birthdays with no one but her pokémon to keep her company, determined to find her beloved older sister, determined to see her again, determined to be reunited with her.
Without anyone to help her, she’d looked for clues in news article, speaking to people - particularly pokémon trainers and gym leaders who’d faced off with quote “possibly the best ice-type specialist since Lorelei, who refused to give her name.” She’d sniffed out her trail like a Growlithe but had lagged behind for ages… until now.
This time it was different. For a while there had been no new reports, no new articles. Anna was convinced that Elsa had reached her current destination and for some reason had chosen not to keep travelling.
Her fingertip twirled inside her bag around the premier ball she’d set out on her journey with.
“We’re almost there Amber,” she whispered softly. “Soon we’ll be with her again.”
———
As the ship had made landfall, Anna’s stomach had rumbled once on firm ground and she had been torn between the urge to settle her stomach and the impulse to go find Elsa. She was closer to her than ever before and she was worried that if she wasted any time, she might lose her all over again.
The premier ball in her pouch rattled and Amber emerged, pawing at Anna insistently. She smiled down at the Vulpix and she sighed.
“I guess you’re pretty hungry too, huh?”
The Pokémon grumped with a cute little huff and Anna laughed. Okay. It was only fair that they’d replenish themselves after the long journey they’d just had and the challenges they faced ahead of them. They might have been physically and geographically closer to Elsa than they’d been in two years, but somehow she doubted that she’d simply bump into her at the nearest food place.
The warm breeze of the ocean caressed their faces as they made their way into Heahea city. She thought of heading to the Tide Song hotel to book a night and figured there might be food there, but it would be a shame to have come all this way and not sample some authentic, local Alolan food.
The Sun had fully risen now and the hustle and bustle - if one could call the laidback island atmosphere that - of morning routines were starting to pick up. Anna looked around fascinated, she’d never seen so many people accompanied by pokémon all at once, some of which several at a time. It was true what she had read then: Alolan culture had a very different relationship to Pokémon from most other places around the world. She smiled and looked down at Amber who gazed up at her quizzically.
“I think I can understand why Elsa wanted to stay here.”
Delectable aromas caught her by the nostrils and she stopped dead in her tracks looking around in search of the source. She spotted a food stand built in bamboo with several stools by the bar. Her stomach growled again, audibly and she swallowed thickly quickening her step over to it.
As she sat down the gentleman manning the stand looked up at her and cracked a wide smile.
“Oh! You’ve changed your hair colour?”
Anna’s brows furrowed in confusion.
“I- no, this is my natural colour." Amber hopped up on her lap and this combined with the sound of her voice seemed to completely change the man’s demeanour.
“I’m so sorry, I mistook you for someone else. You look so much like her it’s uncanny… But I haven’t seen her in quite a while.”
Her entire body tensed, suddenly on high alert. This hadn’t been the first time someone had noted the resemblance with her older sister. Absent-mindedly she began petting the top of her Vulpix’s head.
“Well I did come here to taste some of that delicious-smelling food you’re making, but I’d be curious to hear about this other person. You seemed so excited to see her again.”
He grinned widely at her.
“Now you’re speaking my language.”
———
The next few days turned out to be a mixture of wonderment and anxiety. Though she’d witnessed amazing places and things during her travels, for the most part she barely had any mental or emotional headspace to offer these things with how caught up she had been with her mission. Until Alola.
Alola was unlike any other place she had visited not just in the majesty of its natural, diverse ecosystems, but as well in its culture. And she had quickly realized that if she were to find Elsa anywhere on these islands, she would have to pass the Alolan trials and battle the great Kahunas to have a better understanding of what led her sister here, and more importantly what was keeping her here.
She caught a Mudbray then spent time training it up until it could evolve into a Mudsdale that she could then ride and facilitate her journey from one island to the next. Their hardy disposition and sure-footedness adapted to Alola made it a perfect candidate to pursue the wild terrain she was going up against. Not to mention the tough pokémon battles ahead of them.
First came Hala, the Kahuna on Melemele who specialized in fighting types. Amber knew a couple of Psychic-type moves and was able to make quick work of them. Their celebration had come with flower garlands and a sense of reverence. What was clear to her was that the strength of the bond and the relationship between people and pokémon here was more important than the raw power of the Pokémon itself.
Then had come Kahuna Olivia on Akala who proved a tougher opponent than anticipated, but Floatzel was the MVP this time with a rotation between other members of her team.
By the time she’d taken the ferry to Ula’ula Anna realized her focus in getting through these trials was a new quest in of itself. It no longer was just a means to an end. She felt as though she was gleaning a better understanding into Elsa’s mind.
Things however, went awry almost as soon as she set off outside of Malie city onto route 10.
Amber was sat in the saddlebag Anna had gotten for her, enjoying the Mudsdale ride when she suddenly squirmed out and took off like a torpedo. Anna urged her mount to follow but soon realized that the narrow pathways were no longer adapted to riding and she hopped off, calling Mudsdale back to his poke ball, before taking off on foot. Her hair was braided up which she was thankful for with all that she was having to navigate.
“Amber!”
She called out to her Vulpix desperately, hearing some yipping and growling and wondering what had gotten into her. She fought the impulse to panic, fought back the maelstrom of anxious thoughts that wanted to scream that this had been a mistake, that it was a futile endeavour, that she was wailing in the task Elsa had left her with in looking after Amber.
And then she spotted her up a narrow escarpment running stil in hot pursuit of something Anna hadn’t herself heard or seen.
Panic receded, giving way to determination as she surveyed for the best path upwards.
Stone cut into her well travelled hands and she she bit back a hiss as she began her ascent. Powered by adrenaline she did so probably with more swiftness and less precision than was probably warranted in this context, but when she finally reached the top, any concerns about pursuing the trials evaporated.
Amber was standing off with what appeared to be a snow-white Vulpix that was growling at her. A little further behind that stood a woman who looked at her as though she had seen a Gengar.
Her face was framed by strands of platinum blonde floating in the wind. Something in her gaze belied the weathered tales of a world-weary traveller, so stranger yet still so familiar to Anna.
“Anna?”
That voice.
That voice she had ached to hear say her name for two years.
A strangled sob escaped her lips as she tried to speak her name. She took a shaky breath, ignoring the water rolling down her cheeks as she tried to steady herself.
“Elsa…”
“What are you doing here?”
Anna froze. She’d spent so much time chasing after her sister that she hadn’t even really thought of what she would do, what she would say when she eventually did catch up to her. Every cell in her body was screaming at her to run over to her and hug her, hold her how she’d clutched that damned note to her chest on so many nights.
But the tiniest part of her feared that she might vanish or disappear if she did that, that she might spook her away like a young Deerling.
“I… I came here for you! I needed to better understand… why you left us. What did I do to make you hate me so suddenly?”
Anna closed her eyes and braced herself for what was surely going to come next, only to reopen them in surprise when she felt a pair of arms embracing her and holding her tight. At this she could not hold back the sobs and immediately hugged her back burying her face in Elsa’s neck breathing in deeply.
Heart to heart like this for what felt like an eternity, Anna forgot about everything that had led her up to this very moment, the toils, the sores, the exhaustion, the trials and tribulations of her adventures in tracking her and getting here. She wouldn’t have been able to say how much time had passed until warmth and peace finally washed over her heart appeasingly, when Elsa whispered against the side of her head, pressing her cheek there softly.
“I’m so sorry, Anna.”
She pulled back gently and looked at her, one hand cupping the side of her face. She brushed her forehead against Anna’s before Anna then felt a ghosting of her lips against her own.
“It was never about hating you. It’s always been about loving you and not knowing how.”
Anna looked into her eyes, searching for answers in trying to comprehend what she was saying, her own gleaming with tears.
“And that… is true for Amber too.”
At this she looked down at her Vulpix which was no longer locked into a staring contest with her white mirror image, but continued to eye her suspiciously.
“If there was anyone I had any hate for it was myself. I couldn’t be the pokémon trainer I thought I wanted to be unless I went off on my own. And I couldn’t be the trainer Amber needed… But I believed with every fibre of my being that you could.”
“And it wasn’t until I finally came to Alola that I understood the kind of person I wanted to be. Then realized the kind of person who I had been… and I regret terribly that I hurt you, but Anna, I am so happy to see you again, more than I could ever say… you cannot know how sorry I am.”
Realization dawned on her slowly as she was beginning to understand the underlying message of Elsa’s words.
“You don’t have to do or be anything to be worthy of my love, Elsa. My love is unconditional. I love you wholly and freely, without restraint. I always will no matter what. Just… don’t run off and disappear on me ever again. Amber and I both thought you had abandoned us.”
“In a way I suppose I did but not… not because I anted to or intended to. I left Amber in your care thinking you’d be the best thing to ever happen to her, and seeing her now, I think I was right. She looks amazing. And you do too, truly. I don’t know if you realize it.”
Elsa’s thumb stroked softly away a tear from Anna’s cheek and and Anna offered a quick smile.
She sensed what her sister had tried to convey, what she had just timidly shown her, and she smiled gently at her, brushing away a strand of platinum hair before leaning in, closing the gap between them. Anna’s chest felt like it might burst at any minute as warm and electricity blossomed and crackled out of her heart in a way she’d never quite felt before.
There was still so much unpacking to do, so much talking to be had.
But as the sunset gleamed and scintillated behind them, for the first time in forever, Anna realized that it could all wait.
She had found so much more than just her sister.
For that fact, her heart soared to new weights and beyond.
