I wonder if Pencak Silat Kid and Gym Girl have ever met each other. They sound like they'd be perfect for each other.
I don't think they have. Then again, I don't really know much about them. I only know Pencak Silat Kid practices Pencak Silat because I asked and he told me. I have no idea what Gym Girl practices, much less her name or any personal details I haven't gotten by my own observation.
So, for all I know, they could be boyfriend and girlfriend already and I would have no idea because I don't talk to people outside of forced social interaction. But it's most likely that they haven't.
Gonna ask Pencak Silat Kid about that tomorrow.
(Also, I found out Gym Girl has a tumblr and I hope she doesn't realize who I am IRL)

Y'all, I've been glued to this saga because L and R are so similar to what I went thru with my ex, like down to the sleeping on the couch thing, only reversed, that I don't know whether to laugh or cry. A and S don't know what they're in for.
Storytime: My ex's Rory is called Mike and they met playing a sport in college when X was a freshman and M was a super senior, so he's ~4 years older. M took X under his wing and they became bros for life I guess. M is super nice and goofy but a hot mess as a person, can't be trusted with the simplest of tasks but gets by by being beloved by everyone. X has consistently thrown him bones, brought him on to projects and recommended him for gigs at the expense of his own career and reputation. You can't make this shit up.
X and I were long distance for the first ~year of the relationship, I moved out to him to a small ass town an hour away from anywhere because of his job and because it was cheap. We were in a 1bd apartment and the first little while was bliss, hot and heavy, amazing. It was my first time living with a partner. Maybe a few months in, M calls X - he got a job in the city an hour away and he's moving down. X gets the brilliant idea to invite him to stay on our couch until he finds a place. I was fine with it at first because he was a super nice guy but I had no idea what I was getting into. Ladies, when I tell you I became the 3rd wheel in my own relationship and a ghost in my own home, I'm not being dramatic.
I was working from home so I was alone all day in a town where I knew no one who wasn't connected to X in some way and when the two of them would get home, they'd bro out with each other and I basically had to compete for my bf's attention. We stopped doing anything that didn't include him and constantly had to be mindful about how loud we were in the bedroom because he was on the fucking couch. I couldn't relax in my own home that I was paying rent and bills for. Mind you, M at this point was further along in his career than X and making way more money. Two months pass, he still hasn't found a place and instead commutes an hour each way to work. Then the fucking pandemic hits. I was the only one working initially and I was at home with the two of them playing video games, working out, watching TV, yelling, laughing, on TT, on Zoom with their other buddies 24/7 while I was trying to work. We'd constantly end up doing whatever they wanted to do. Dude stayed on our couch for like 10 1/2 months, only paying for groceries, takeout and activities here and there. I kinda snapped during the holidays, I drove across the country alone to be with my family and didn't go back, my dad then made a round trip to go get my stuff because I just couldn't even look at X. Only then did it occur to X and M that maybe M should move out. But you know what the narrative in his friend group is about me? That I'm a cold bitch who broke his heart.
I look back on it now and I'm angry at myself for being such a dummy, I was a total pushover. My X wasn't a bad dude, he was just too much of a bro to know how to be a bf. He always felt a need to include everyone but that cut into the little time we had together. In my defense, he was really hot lol.
It's crazy to think how different my life is now with my fiance, we just bought a house earlier this spring, which wouldn't have been possible with my X because he spends all his money on his hobbies. X literally did the same HBS thing L did after I dumped him, hit the gym like crazy, he follows like a thousand half naked girls on IG, likes all their posts and thirsts in the comments, it's beyond cringe. This is also on his fully public IG account that he also uses for work. He hasn't been in a serious relationship since, I'm told he's become quite the fboy, but he's collected a seemingly infinite amount of new bros judging by his posts. M is still in the picture, of course, although he has his own place and a serious gf now, while my ex has a new roommate who he plays an expensive, niche equipment sport with that he spends every penny he earns on. My ex was a Leo, so I'm not surprised L has it prominently in his chart.
This stuff is not uncommon among younger Millennial men. My now fiance is 5 years older and he is a Man. He shows up for me the way I show up for him, he doesn't make plans without considering me and he's on top of his finances. He's a serious person. I never knew I could be at peace like this. I know what I'm building towards with him. A and S are just sidepieces to the main love story that is L and R and if/when one of them gets dumped, the other one will as well. They're there because they go along with what L and R want. It'll come back to bite them in the ass but they'll learn an invaluable lesson the way that I did - don't date a manchild who won't prioritize you over his friends.
some good advice for the youngins
thank you for sharing 💜🥃

Whumptober Day 31: "I'm Alive, I'm Just Not Well"
A/N: i stayed up listening to EPIC the vengeance saga and I REGRET NOTHING
Pray
The air around the shrine is chilly, and Hamuko pulls her scarf tighter.
It’ll be the Dark Hour soon, and she… doesn’t know what to do about it.
Ikutski betrayed them, Mitsuru-senpai lost her father, and they’re no closer to figuring out how to destroy the Dark Hour and the threat of Shadows once and for all than they were when she first arrived at the dorm.
Instead of worrying about that, Hamuko does what she does best: find another problem to solve.
Shinjiro had mentioned some kids hanging around the back alleys alongside Strega, and now that Strega was gone, Hamuko could at least help them.
She’d spent the last few days asking around after school, and is fairly certain she’s tracked them down here.
Hamuko checks her phone. A few seconds to midnight.
She closes her eyes, and when she opens them the world is blanketed in green.
“Did you really come alone?”
Hamuko spins around, her hand going to her Evoker on instinct, but it’s just three kids.
The boy who spoke has brown hair, and looks to be around Ken’s age. Next to him is thinner boy with blue hair.
Finally, there’s a girl with orange hair and a laptop looking down on her from atop the jungle gym.
“Hi,” Hamuko says. “I’m–
“We know who you are.” The girl says. “Hamuko Arisato, Gekkoughan high school calls 2-F, top of your class, member of the volleyball team, the library club, student council, and of course the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad.”
“How did you know that?” Hamuko asks.
“Getting your transcript was way too easy,” the girl replies.
Her transcript. The one that mentions her parents.
“Well, it’s only fair I know your names, since you know mine, right?”
The three kids share a look, then the brown haired one shrugs. “Goro Akechi.”
“I’m Yusuke Kitagawa,” the thin boy says.
“Futaba Ishikki,” the girl says.
“It’s nice to meet all of you,” Hamuko says. “I want to help you, I can take you to see Chidori.”
Kitagwa-kun steps forward, but Akechi-kun puts out a hand.
“You don’t understand what’s going on here,” Akechi-kun says. “We’re making the demands. Let Chidori go, and stop trying to destroy the Dark Hour.”
“We won’t do that,” Hamuko says. “Not while Shadows are still a threat to humanity–”
“Humans are worse than any Shadow out there,” Kitagawa-kun snaps. “Just give us back Ms. Chidori!”
Hamuko represses a groan at the thought of Takaya saying pretty much the same thing. “Ok, yes people will still die and suffer without Shadows. But it will be fewer people, because we can’t just get rid of the things that make people hurt other people.”
“Says you,” Ishikki-kun says. “The Lost aren’t hurting anyone.”
“That’s not the same thing.”
“Then it seems we’re at an impasse,” Akechi-kun says. “We can't agree, so I guess we’ll have to talk to your friends and see what they think.”
“Yes!” Hamuko says. “Come back with me to the dorm, and we’ll talk to my friends!”
“You really don’t think much of us, do you?” Akechi-kun says. “Just because Takaya thinks you’re special doesn’t mean you can brush us off.”
“I really don’t care that Takaya thinks I’m special,” Hamuko says. “In fact, I kind of hate it.”
“Hey! Don’t talk about him like that! Takaya’s strong! And we’re just as strong as he is!” Hamuko just catches the glint of an Evoker as Akechi-kun pulls it out and points it to his head. “Minos!”
Hamuko dodges Akechi-kun’s Persona, and pulls out her own Evoker.
“Thanatos!” she cries out, absorbing the next Dark attack. “Kids, I really don’t want to fight you.”
“Too bad,” Akechi-kun says. He nods up at Ishikki.
“You can’t hide anything from Despoena,” the girl smirks, summoning her own Persona. It’s clear instantly that Hamuko’s being scanned.
Hamuko casts Tempest Slash towards Akechi-kun, but Kitagawa-kun gets in the way.
“Our turn!” Ishikki giggles.
“Tantalus,” Kitagawa-kun says, and suddenly there’s a chill in the night air. Then Kitagwa-kun’s Persona strikes her. It doesn’t hurt thanks to Thanatos, but suddenly Hamuko’s rocked by another kind of pain.
She’s unbearably hungry.
“Guess you really aren’t that special,” Akechi-kun says, and then his Persona changes. “Ikelos. Hamaon.”
Oh it is going to be a long night.

It’s Still Complicated
[Ch 1] [Ch 2] [Ch 3] [Ch 4]
Fandom: The Twilight Saga x Life and Death Twilight Reimagined
Pairing: Bella Swan/Edythe Cullen
Summary: Bella avoids Edythe at school by getting a new lab partner. Angela Weber. Bella struggles with nightmares and sleepless nights.
Word count: 1,483
(Bella’s P.O.V.)
I arrived at school early on Monday morning. Across the lot, I could see the Cullen-Hales standing around Edythe’s car. They had been laughing at some joke one of them had made when Edythe had looked up to see my truck pulling into the school parking lot. Her hand raised in an enthusiastic wave and her warm smile had sparked a fire in my stomach. But I extinguished the flame and ignored the poor girl. In my peripheral vision I could see Edythe’s face morph into one of confusion when she saw that I did not return her enthusiastic greeting. It was clear to me that Edythe liked me as much as I liked her. Which would only make my remaining time here all that much harder. Now that I was forcing myself to cut ties with Edythe for her own good, it would be the hardest thing I’ve done since coming to Forks.
My morning classes went by without much fanfare. Though people still murmured about my sexuality, most of the student body had found something new to gossip about. Whatever the school rumors are I paid them no mind. None of it mattered to me and I had far more important things to think about. Lunch hour came and this time I took Jessica up on her offer to sit with her and her friends at their table. I sat in between Jessica and Angela. The rest of the lunch table was filled by Mike, Tyler, Lauren Mallory, Eric Yorkie, and Ben Cheney.
Tyler was getting on my nerves with his incessant apologizing for the car accident. I told him again and again that apologizing was unnecessary, but he continued to do so. Luckily for me Lauren had a crush on Tyler, and she swayed his attention to her. I turned my own attention to what Angela and Jessica were talking about. Jessica was going on about some upcoming girl’s choice dance where the girls asked the guys. I’d never been to a school dance before and was not too sure it was something I would enjoy. Jessica asked Angela if there was any boy, she wanted to ask out to the dance but didn’t wait for the girl to answer. Instead, Jessica continued the conversation with her own indecision on you to ask. The dark-haired girl didn’t seem to notice when Angela cringed at her question. I quirked an eyebrow and briefly wondered what that was about but did not press my glasses wearing classmate.
The hour ended and I walked with Angela to Biology class. I followed Angela, past Edythe, to her table. As I got near Edythe’s table, she pulled out the chair next to her where I normally sat. But if I could keep up my resolve I would not be sitting there anymore. Without any acknowledgement, not a word or a glance, I walked past Edythe’s table. Even as I saw Edythe’s expression of confusion and hurt, I didn’t falter in my determination, I kept walking. I sat down with Angela at our table. I pulled out my books, set them on the table and kept my eyes focused on the front of the classroom. Mr. Banner was writing on the board setting up the next lesson. As the teacher lectured about the transportation of energy in an ecosystem, I took meticulous notes. Forcing myself to not take notice of Edythe in any way. Not even when I felt her eyes on me as she snuck glances at me when the teacher was not looking.
As the lecture drew to a close, we were assigned our next project. We were to research and write a report on energy in any chosen ecosystem. We would be working with our partners and tomorrow we would begin picking out ecosystems. The bell singling the end of class rang and I followed Jessica and Mike out. The three of us had gym so we walked together to the gymnasium. The class will be playing badminton this week. All the students gathered on the bleachers as Coach Clapp explained the rules of the game. She then sent us to the locker room to change into our gym clothes. I partnered with Jessica, and we played against Mike and a girl named Jennifer Ford. The game had barely begun when the final bell of the day rang. All of the students rushed in a swarm to the locker room, eager to change back into their regular clothes and go home.
I walked behind the crowds of students. Mike fell in step with me.
“Great game today, Bella,” he said with a grin. Sweat dripped from his temple and the retched scent of his body odor filled my nostrils, but I kept myself from grimacing.
“Yes, it was. You’re a good player.”
“Thanks,” his grin got bigger before it was swept away. “Listen, Bella, about the other day. I shouldn’t have said anything…”
“It’s fine Mike. You don’t have to apologize.”
“No, I do. You were right. Whatever is going on between you and Edythe isn’t any of my business. I’m sorry.”
“Thank you, Mike. I appreciate that.”
“So, we’re cool?”
“Yeah, we’re cool Mike,” I smiled.
Mike smiled back at me. “Great!”
“See you tomorrow then,” he called over his shoulder as he headed for the boy’s changing area. I gave a small wave goodbye before heading in the opposite direction towards the girl’s changing area.
I exited the gym and began the short trek to the parking lot. I made it to my truck before the person I shouldn’t want to see most approached me.
“Hello, Bella.”
Just the sound of Edythe’s velvet smooth voice sent a pleasant shiver up my spine. For the first time today, I looked at her. Her eyes, though dark, held a spark of hope. She kept her features steady, a peaceful and neutral expression.
“Hello, Edythe.”
“You switched lab partners. Why?”
Edythe Cullen was not one to beat around the bush.
“It’s just better this way,” I said. “You and I shouldn’t be friends. You’re better of with out me in your life.”
I opened the truck door and climbed in.
“Bella, what’s going on? If you’re in trouble, I can help you.”
“The best thing you can do is to keep your distance from me. It’s the only way you’ll be safe.”
“Safe from what? What does that mean?”
“Just drop it, Edythe.”
She sighed but drop it, she did. Though I suspected this wouldn’t be the last time she brought it up. I closed the door and pretended not to see Edythe’s sorrowful and puzzled face. Edythe walked away to her own vehicle leaving me room to back out of my parking space.
The next day was the same as the first. As was the day that followed. By day, I was a diligent student. I passed a history test with flying colors. Angela and I worked on our biology assignment. I found that I really liked being Angela’s friend. She was a bit quiet, a little shy, and incredibly sweet and smart. The games of badminton went on in gym class. Jessica and I made a good team. Mike was competitive but a good sport. Unlike his badminton partner. I’ve dodged Jennifer’s numerous intentional shots to my forehead. But most of all I kept as far away from Edythe Cullen. She tried to talk to me again, but every time she did, I told her the same thing. That it was better that we were not friends. By night I kept myself distracted with a book or with the radio, spending hours turning the dials of the old radio I kept in my room.
I couldn’t sleep anymore. The nightmares were far too intense. I hadn’t slept since Saturday night, and it had not been a well rest. I had woken myself up with my own screams. The nightmare had started out the same way it always had, with James and Victoria’s attack. My dream-self watched the horrible memory of the vampires tearing Charlie apart as he screamed at me to run, but on Saturday night the dream had changed. Suddenly it wasn’t Charlie being torn apart it was Edythe. Charlie’s and Edythe’s cries of pain were echoed by my screams of terror. I could not go back to sleep that night. I had not slept sense. Every night sense I filled the moonlit hours with anything that would distract me from the fear and growing loneliness.
By the time Thursday rolled around the circles under my eyes were so pronounced I could pass for a starved vampire. The bit of gold around my pupils were lackluster giving the impression that the light had gone out in my eyes. The truth is I had not had a good night’s sleep in months and the side effects were beginning to show.

Atsuhiro Tomioka’s 30 Greatest Achievements (and his 30 Biggest Blunders) in the Pokeani
Tumblr media
Atsuhiro Tomioka, perhaps the most prolific writer in the history of the Pokemon anime....and perhaps the most Hit and Miss one, as well. See, when Tomioka makes a hit, it’s a freaking Home Run. But when he misses, it’s a disaster of epic proportions. Now that the era of Ash Ketchum is over (God, that still sounds surreal), in the spirit of fairness and even-handedness I would like to recount his best successes and his worst failures over the course of 25 years.
Tumblr media
THE HITS:
Ash’s First Capture: Tomioka’s first episode ever was the third one, making him the first writer after the late Takeshi Shudo to write for the anime. And the episode in question, OS003, is a damn good one: Ash captures Caterpie and Pidgeotto, has a proper battle with Team Rocket, fleshes out his and Misty’s argumentative dynamic, and gives Caterpie a whole character arc that progresses through the episode. That scene where Caterpie and Pikachu are talking and there’s no coherent dialogue spoken yet you still get it...it’s a fantastic scene!
Pikachu vs. Raichu: Everyone who’s watched the anime from the start remembers the battle and rematch at Vermillion Gym in OS014, and the conflict in between as to whether Ash should evolve Pikachu with a Thunderstone in order to win. It’s a classic, well-written episode.
The Copycat Girl: In OS037, Tomioka takes a noteworthy NPC and fleshes her out into a passionate showgirl and delightful little troll who trains - what else? - a Ditto. Gotta love her!
“A Jigglypuff Seen From Above!: OS056 is another famous episode, and probably one of the funniest that Tomioka has ever penned. From start to finish it’s so absurd it’s hilarious.
Defining the Rivalry: Before OS067, Gary was primarily Ash’s douchey rival. This episode, however, actually develops him and his rivalry with Ash, shifting him toward being a more mature, respectable trainer, open to learning just as much from Ash as Ash learns from him.
The REAL Giant Pokemon: The giant Pokemon in Takeshi Shudo’s classic OS017 were just animatronics, but the ones that show up in OS074 are real, ancient Eldritch Abominations! This is a genuinely dark and tense episode, but it also has one of the most hysterical pay-offs of all time with “Bigglypuff”, the joke that all of Jiggylpuff’s prior showings were leading up to.
Pikachu Goes to the Dark Side: OS088 is an episode beloved by many for the return of Butch and Cassidy, Pikachu turning evil due to mind control, a fantastic team-up between the heroes and Team Rocket to save their Pokemon, a very touching reunion between Ash and the freed Pikachu, and the final battle where Togepi shockingly learns Metronome and is unexpectedly powerful with it. It’s absolutely one of the Orange Island saga’s best stories.
Charizard’s Redemption: OS107 is where, after 64 episodes, Charizard finally gets over himself and remembers that for all his flaws as a trainer, Ash cares about him deeply and helped save his life when he was just a Charmander. It’s a very effective, touching episode.
The Orange Island Championship: It may not count for much, but OS113 and OS114 have Ash win his first major competitive victory by defeating Drake of the Orange League and becoming the Orange League Champion. The climactic match of Pikachu vs. Dragonite is especially great, and in retrospect foreshadows the battle against Leon many years later.
The Legend of Thunder: While it’s not perfect, this OVA gives us a fascinating “What If?” scenario by focusing on a different main character and his two friends as they have their own adventures in Johto and face a more sinister duo from Team Rocket. It makes you wish they were the focus instead of Ash, or at the very least focus could be split between the two.
Ash vs. Gary at the Johto League: Ash and Gary’s long rivalry has built up to this battle in OS272 and OS273, and it’s excellent. Charizard vs. Blastoise, man; who could ever forget it?
Harley Wins: Harley has been a humorous and semi-villainous rival for May, but he’s lost every time they fought and there was little reason to believe that would change. Shockingly, AG160 gives him the victory, as for once he doesn’t stoop to cheating and is able to reap the good karma this choice brings him. It goes a long way in making him more respectable.
May’s Coda: After losing her second Grand Festival, May is in something of a slump at the start of AG187. But then Drew, the rival she defeated in said Grand Festival, challenges her to a battle and is able to defeat her. This is a visual demonstration to May that anyone can bounce back from defeat and that her competitive path in Pokemon Contests never truly ends, reinvigorating her spirit. Not only is this a great resolution for May, but also for Drew and his somewhat romantic bond with May. (Oh, and Harley’s here too, great as always).
The Dream Team: BW006 is the episode where Ash, Iris and Cilan officially become a team that will travel across Unova and beyond together. Sandwiched between two traveling teams that by and large are big Get-Along Gangs, this trio is refreshing in how different each character truly is from one another and how they clash in addition to supporting each other.
The Meteonite Incident: Although the full work remains lost, the story of BW023 and BW024 is a good one, with Giovanni finally getting out of his chair and attending to matters himself, setting in motion an escalating chain of events that end up threatening an entire city’s safety.
Battle For The Underground: While Shoji Yonemura wrote the first part of this story in BW049, Tomioka writes the exciting conclusion where Team Rocket pulls out all the stops to ensure their massive heist succeeds, with the heroes’ victory being fought hard for and only claimed due to the surprise of Pikachu becoming something of a Pokemon trainer himself!
Aim To Be a Dragon Master: If there was still any doubt as to what exactly being a Dragon Master entails, BW058 puts them to rest in a quiet, moving story of Iris helping a lonely Deino come out of its shell and trust others, and ultimately sacrificing her personal wants for its needs by giving it back to its rightful trainer. It’s not about the power; it’s about the empathy.
Operation Tempest: BW098 and BW099 are two of the best Pokeani episodes ever, serving as the epic conclusion to the Meloetta story arc, the overarching Team Rocket in Unova arc, and the ever-looming prospect of Ash someday facing Giovanni himself. Add to this Cynthia being awesome, Iris finally connecting with her Dragonite, one of the Team Rocket trio’s finest moments, and an emotional farewell with Meloetta, and you have yourself a true masterwork.
Ash vs. Clemont at Lumiose Gym: Good build-ups and pay-offs were hard to come by in the first two years of XY, but XY067 was an exception, as it pays off not just Clemont’s leave of absence for several episodes beforehand but also Clemont’s personal character arc ever since the series started, and he rises to the occasion with a wonderfully tense electric battle.
The Strongest Mega Evolution: Like “The Legend of Thunder”, except across four specials rather than just one, we have a story about characters other than Ash and his friends which is a lot more interesting. Alain is way more than just the edgy cool guy he first appears to be, his relationship with Mairin is precious, Steven Stone gets to redeem himself for his showing in the AG series, and Lysandre is a wonderfully charismatic and manipulative villain. Combined with some superb animation and even a true Groudon vs. Kyogre battle, it’s...well, strong!
Enter Squishy: With XY094, Kalos is able to one-up Johto by actually making its side story featuring different characters connect with the main story! Getting to see the Zygarde Core (named “Squishy” by Bonnie), Lysandre and freaking Alain in the same episode as Ash and his friends gives you such an exhilarating feeling. Finally, things are starting to come together.
Armageddon in Kalos: The climax of the XY series, XY132 - XY136, is where Tomioka is able to do what he was sadly prevented from doing in the BW series: conclude the series Myth Arc in an epic, high-stakes event that threatens the whole region and relies on just about every significant good guy coming together to fight against. Lysandre cements himself as one of the anime’s greatest villains, causing unprecedented damage across Lumiose City as he seeks to achieve his insane, genocidal aims. There are some flaws (mainly the fact that alleged heroines Serena and Mairin get jack-shit to actually do), but on the whole this is a fantastic pay-off, retroactively making the entire series worth it just for these episodes alone.
The Story of Ash’s Litten: Litten’s story is an emotional gut-punch, particularly in SM021 where Ash catches it. Even now, it’s hard to think of that Stoutland without tearing up...
Team Rocket vs. Team Skull: In SM025, it finally happens. Jessie, James and Meowth finally meets a villainous trio that’s even more stupid and bumbling than they’ve ever been.
Misty and Brock, Back and Better Than Ever: Following Shoji Younemura in a two-parter again, Tomioka’s SM043 is the conclusion of the perfect re-introduction to Misty and Brock, both of whom get to be badass here. Misty and her teasing of Ash is especially on point.
10,000,000 Volts: SM053 and SM054 both showcase the battle in Ultra Space between Ash and his friends (the would-be-Ultra Guardians) and Lusamine, who has been forcibly merged with Nihilego and reduced to a psychotic, childish mentality. It ends with two stellar moment: a speech from Lillie to her mother that I honestly like better than the games’ version, and the separation of Lusamine from Nihelgo by Pikachu’s incredible 10,000,000 Volts Z-Move.
Lana Hooks Kyogre: Do I need to say more? Lana hooks a freaking Kyogre!
Defeat Incineroar, Become Incineroar: The battle between Ash and his father-figure Professor Kukui runs for SM141 - SM144, the first three of which are written by Tomioka. While that’s one episode longer than I’d have liked, it’s ultimately worth it for SM143 (the penultimate episode before Aya Matsui’s epic finale with Tapu Koko), where Ash’s Torracat finally manages to defeat Kukui’s Incineroar, evolving into an Incineroar itself afterward.
Battle of the Newbie Champions: JN065 gives us Ash, new young Champion of the Alola region, vs. Iris, new young Champion of the Unova region. It’s the perfect re-introduction to Iris as well as an incredibly close battle that you could easily see either trainer winning.
The Masters Eight Tournament: JN115 - JN118, JN122 - JN125 and JN129 - JN132 are all written by Tomioka and feature every battle in the Masters Eight tournament that concludes the long-running World Coronation Series: Leon vs. Alain, Lance vs. Diantha, Iris vs. Cynthia, Ash vs. Steven, Leon vs. Diantha, Ash vs. Cynthia, and finally Ash vs. Leon. All of these battles are great, especially both Cynthia battles and the decisive final battle which serves as the culmination of Ash’s 25-year journey...the moment he and Pikachu achieve their dream.

THE MISSES:
For Want of a Jelly Donut: OS025 is a really bad episode. There’s little plot to speak of beyond dealing with a rampaging Primeape, which Ash catches only to discard a mere 4 episodes later making it feel utterly pointless. It also hasn’t aged well given that so much importance is placed on Ash’s hat...which ended up being just the first of many hats he wears, so I guess it wasn’t so special after all! The only good part about this episode is the English dub version with its notorious “rice ball = jelly donut” translation. Otherwise, it blows.
The Sleepiest Episode Ever: In OS060, Ash and his friends come upon an island where a Blastoise is asleep and they need to wake it up. So, it’s just a variation on OS041, except with all of the riotous humor sucked out and replaced with dullness. Seriously, it’s so boring.
Who Gets To Keep Totodile?: Misty screwed Ash out of Togepi in OS050, so now in OS153 Ash screws Misty out of Totodile! Huh. Did Tomioka never hear the one about two wrongs?
Excruciating Ecruteak: In the games, Ecruteak City is a fascinating place and Morty is an intriguing Gym Leader. In the anime as showcased in OS183 and OS184, both of them are dreadfully boring and unmemorable. Also, this is where Ho-oh finally gets name-dropped as the Pokemon that Ash saw in the first episode, and it flies by like it’s nothing! What the Hell!?
The Whirl Cup: In OS217 - OS219, Tomioka tries to finally give Misty something major to do. Unfortunately, it ends up sucking! Beyond the predictable formula of Misty losing to someone who goes on to lose to someone else in the next round, the preceding battle between her and Ash is awful. People claim Ash “regressed in intelligence” in BW, but seldom seem to bring up the time he lost because he somehow forgot that giving Psyduck a headache was a bad idea!
Deadbeat Parents are Hilarious!: The first side special episode that aired over the course of the AG series has Brock return to Pewter City Gym and reunite with both of his deadbeat parents. Hey, remember when that situation was treated seriously back in OS005? Tomioka sure doesn’t, since Brock’s parents and his anger toward them for abandoning him and his siblings are treated as zany and wacky here, diminishing what should be a serious issue.
Goodbye, Arbok and Weezing: AG006 gets rid of Jessie and James’ original Pokemon, Arbok and Weezing, in an unpleasant and kind of mean-spirited way, made worse by the fact that they are never reunited ever again. As a TR fan, it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Boring and Boring-er: AG027 is when Team Magma and Team Aqua, the mysterious evil teams from earlier, finally meet up with one another. Aaaand...they still act mysteriously, even when there’s no reason to since they don’t know anyone else is watching and they have the exact same evil plan just with different Legendary Pokemon at the end of it! Tomioka seems to think that this will make them intriguing to viewers. Instead, it just makes them boring.
The Togepi Kingdom: Tomioka brings Misty and Togepi back in AG044 and AG045 and sends off the latter, evolving it into Togetic in the process. Not only is this way too little too late, but the story here is ridiculous, involving a fairy tale style kingdom with a princess and an evil mustache-twirling villain out to conquer it, with the whole reason behind Misty leaving Togetic being connected to it. Really? This is the pay-off Togepi gets after all these years!?
May’s Acquired Situational Narcissism: In an example of a trope I tend to hate, May in AG078 suddenly starts acting like a swell-headed jerk, even though there wasn’t any sign of that in just the previous episode this one is directly following! It’s all to humble her and teach her a lesson through having her lose, of course, and it’s so boring and predictable and lame.
The Ultimate Anti-Climax: AG097 and AG098 are what the whole Team Magma and Team Aqua plotline were building up to, and what do we get? A bunch of still frames and awkward animation as Groudon and Kyogre have themselves what is sold as an epic battle but what actually looks like a schoolyard scuffle. Also, no Steven, no Wallace, but Lance? WTF!? These two episodes are regarded as some of the worst in Pokeani history, and justifiably so.
Jigglypuff, Except Not: AG138 isn’t a bad episode, but it’s marred by a single poor decision - the Jigglypuff it focuses on is not the Jigglypuff. See, even though Jigglypuff got its big pay-off in OS074, when the Pokeani was renewed due to the franchise’s unexpected popularity it still stuck around as a running joke that got ran into the ground before just vanishing without a trace following AG039. This episode provided the perfect opportunity to finally give it a definitive send-off, and Tomioka totally wasted it! That’s never gonna not hurt to think about.
The Bait-and-Switch Premiere: DP001 is a great episode for most of its run, introducing us to Dawn, a lovable new heroine that combines the position of Ash and the goal of May, which promises a unique new adventure to come.....and then we see Ash, Pikachu and Team Rocket at the end. That’s when it becomes clear that Dawn isn’t going to be the lead after all, she’s just May’s replacement and we’re just doing the same old tired-out shit all over again. If the DP series was your first and you like it, cool. But for me, it was a soul-crushing let-down.
Dirt Poor Pacing: Ash getting his first badge in Sinnoh takes forever because DP015 wastes time having Paul fight Roark for his badge, then having Ash fight Roark and lose in DP016, then having a random incident in the city transpire in DP017 before finally having Ash fight Roark and win in DP018. 4 episodes just to win the region’s first badge is simply too much.
Copy/Paste Writing: Dawn enters a Contest. She doesn’t get past the Appeals round. Jessie obnoxiously rubs it in her face. Dawn feels depressed because she’s failing to live up to her mother’s reputation as a Coordinator. Zoey comforts her about it. Which episode am I talking about: DP049 or DP061? Trick question, it’s both because they share the exact same plot.
The Wallace Cup: Besides using May’s obligatory return to bring Wallace in one generation late and barely do anything substantial with him, DP075 - DP079 suffer from questionable decisions like abruptly having Zoey be fine with people doing both Gyms and Contests, having Ash compete in the Wallace Cup in an Indiana Jones cosplay outfit for no good reason, and having Dawn and Piplup defeat May and Glaceon in a highly unconvincing manner just to resolve Dawn’s self-confidence arc that wasn’t very well-written to start with.
Ash and Paul’s Full Battle: If the characters and narrative had treated Paul honestly and if Paul lost this battle, then we could have had something good. But no, Ash loses, all while moral relativism and abuse apologism runs rampant. What DP131 and DP132′s story appears to be saying is that Paul’s issue was never his cruelty toward people and Pokemon he deemed weak, but that he was too emotional. Yeah, because when I think of emotional characters, I think of Paul. But now he’s cool-headed and thus the stronger trainer between him and Ash and so he deserves to win! Ugh, the creator favoritism reached its peak here.
It’s SPEAR Pillar, Not SPHERE Pillar!: The climax of the Team Galactic storyline from DP150 - DP152 was better than the Aqua/Magma climax, but not by nearly enough, with it leading to a brief skirmish in a nonsensically located “Spear Pillar” where Cyrus completes his descent into OOC Complete Monster-dom by revealing he wants to wipe everything out so that he alone can exist in a new world. He then commits existential suicide when his new world begins to fade away without having ever battled anyone, which is followed by Dialga and Palkia threatening to destroy Sinnoh until Ash, Dawn and Brock pray to the Lake Trio who just...make Dialga and Palkia stop. Oh yeah, and they were chosen by the Lake Trio only because they “love Pokemon so much”, as Cynthia pretentiously says. Ugh! Gag me!
Diamond Dandruff: DP161 and DP162 finally reveal why Dawn’s childhood friends teasingly call her “Dee Dee”. It stands for...”Diamond Dandruff”, due to Plusle and Minun making her hair sparkle once when she was young.  And the humiliation was apparently so great that it gave her a full-blown phobia of Plusle and Minun, which she now must struggle to overcome. Really? Dawn having hair problems is a running gag in the series, and a hair problem is now not only being used to explained away a plot point that’s been kept secret for years but is being treated in a way where we’re meant to take it seriously? By Arceus, is that stupid...
A Scientific Breakthroooops, Never Mind: We spend all of BW039 dealing with Professor Juniper and Fennel’s resurrection of a fossilized Archen which evolves into Archeops and then at the end we discover that Archeops are not, in fact, extinct, as a whole flock of them show up to take the newly revived one under their wings. That’s.....incredibly lazy writing.
My Way Or The Highway, Bitch!: The Black and White games’ message is about how it’s important to have open dialogue between people who hold different viewpoints and ideas, and how the world shouldn’t change by one ideal being forced upon everyone else? Fuck that shit, BW069 says that Skyla’s new way of running her Gym is bullshit and Cilan has to force his view on how she should be running it onto her until she complies! If the message ended up being that negotiation and diplomacy are what can resolve the problem, it’d be fine. But no, Skyla’s just wrong and is depicted as a callous bitch, Cilan’s just right and is depicted as an avenging hero, and in the following episode Skyla just has to go back to regular battling without addressing the reasons she stopped doing them to start with. Fuck off, Tomioka.
You Can’t Handle the Truth!: The climax for Team Plasma’s story arc in BW122 - BW124 is a step above Team Galactic’s, which was a step above Team Aqua/Magma’s. Unfortunately, Tomioka gets to write the last of the three episodes, and as a result the action that was building up so well in the previous two is met with an anticlimactic conclusion. Oh, you think there’s going to be a big fight against Reshiram? Maybe with Ghetsis commanding it against Ash’s Charizard, as hinted at in the current OP? Nope! You can just sense Tomioka’s lack of passion for this finale, since he never got over not being able to make the Black and White inspired one he’d hoped to at the start of the BW series. As a result, the Team Plasma arc doesn’t end on a whimper or a bang, but on a shrug, as if to say “Idk, whatever, we’re done”.
Professor Oak’s Pointless Vacation: BW130 has Professor Oak visit the Decolore Islands and catch a Rotom, which he proceeds to do nothing of value with. Meanwhile, Team Rocket fully regresses into unfunny gag characters ala the DP series, and Ash passes up a perfectly good opportunity to return to Kanto just...because. Tomioka isn’t even trying at this point.
Ash Comes To Kalos: At first glance, XY001 and XY002 make for a perfectly solid premiere. But look closer and you see an immediate problem, and that’s Ash Ketchum. His design, his attitude, him doing stuff like bravely jumping off a skyscraper...it’s all reflective of the anime producers’ reactionary pandering to the vocal online fandom who complained about Ash in the BW series, and thus he’s now the badass “Chad” type they’ve always wanted him to be so that they can enjoy projecting themselves onto him. I cannot sanction such cowardice.
Meeting (Low) Expectations: After over a year, XY060 finally has Serena take a crack at a professional goal: being a Performer in a Pokemon Showcase. And.....it’s just Pokemon Contests all over again, minus the battling factor and gender equality. But apparently that wasn’t underwhelming enough, so we also get to see her lose and cry about it! This is the nadir of the first half of the XY series’ major problem with returning to formulaic conventions. It’s everything that’s been done before done worse, but then Serena gets a haircut so we’re supposed to view it as dramatic and important instead of stale and derivative. Yeah, no. Pass.
Ash’s Frog Fiasco: The ill-advised “Ash-Greninja synchronization” plotline comes to a head in XY120 - XY122, all written by Tomioka. Ash loses due to overexerting his bond with Greninja for the upteenth time, which sends him into a crisis of confidence. This could allow him to be more interesting than he’s been in a long while, but instead Serena yells at him to suck it up and be “the real Ash” again, which he does since fallibility just ain’t allowed for him in the XY series! Tellingly, this specific story gets retconned in Pokemon Journeys, which instead says Ash and Greninja had an argument and brief falling out after Ash pushed it too hard in battle. That does sound like a better story...I sure wish it was the one we actually got.
Hau Do You Do?: In SM097, Tomioka abruptly introduces Hau into the series. I’m sorry, Hau is an important character in the games, but the show has progressed too far without even a hint to his existence, so he was better off left unadapted. But no, he’s here now simply to provide an extra opponent for Ash to beat in the Alola League. The poor guy deserved better.
Kukui’s Childhood: Celebi time travel plots had gotten old by this point, and SM125 might be the worst one of all because it involves Ash and Torracat traveling back to when Kukui was a child with a Litten, and they give him the dream to form the Alola League in the future....the League that Ash ends up winning. Viewed in that light, his victory kinda feels like cheating.
Paul’s Unwelcome Return: There is no valid reason for JN114 to exist other than for Tomioka’s darling Paul to grace the screen again and remind us all what a poorly written character he was due to this favoritism shown toward him. “He’s way too cool!” Goh says. Ugh! I prefer the English dub, where Goh instead derisively says he’s “acting far too cool”, which not only is more in-character but sums up Paul well. He’s not cool; he’s just a poser.
No More Team Rocket!: Finally, a perfectly good send-off for Ash and Pikachu spread across JN137 - JN147 is marred by what is done with Team Rocket in the last three of those episodes, all written by Tomioka. After a plan and battle reminiscent of better ones from the past fail, the Team Rocket trio, over the course of one minute, argue and then sever ties with one another! We then get another minute where they’re still mad at each other, and then the following minute with them in it they reconcile! That’s the best Tomioka could come up with for their final plotline? A break-up plot whose outcome was all too obvious given that it’s been done several times before...and a ridiculously rushed break-up plot at that? Disgraceful.

What is your favourite / funniest anecdote or tidbit you’ve read about Ben online over the last few years? I always think of a tweet I saw maybe 3 years ago about someone meeting him at a gym (that I can’t find anymore)
oh god i can't find the link rn either but a few years ago (maybe 2016ish???) there was a girl on twitter who worked in a supermarket near ben's house and every couple of weeks she'd be like "ben bought three bananas today" "ben bought two bananas today" "ben bought eight bananas today", like she just kept a running tally of ben's banana purchases and for some reason it had me in absolute tears. we called her the ben banana girl but i can't find her now. think she might be on private or deleted her account :( her url had "emelie" in it, that's all i remember now. if anyone knows where she went or has screenshots send them to me so i can relive the glory of the ben banana saga.
there was a brief moment of excitement last year when this guy spotted ben buying bananas too but sadly it was a one off and he never updated us again:

a single strap (and other toys)
Pairing: Rhea Ripley x Dakota Kai x Shayna Baszler
Word count: 3.1k
Author’s note: wow, it was a race to finish this before I leave for vacation, but here’s the next part of the prism trap saga. As usual, shout out to my lovely prism trap anon for the many ideas, including the title.
Follows the events of three isn’t always a crowd: part 1 part 2
It has been a couple of weeks since Shayna had become a part of Dakota and Rhea's relationship, and ever since that first night together, they've only grown closer. Shayna has learned more about her girlfriends than she thought was possible.
She learns about Dakota's love of cereal, and how Rhea always has to fold the laundry because she likes it done in a specific way. She learns about Dakota's love of comic books and Rhea's favorite meal for after the gym.
Amidst the many moments of domestic bliss they have together, Shayna also learns more about Rhea and Dakota when it comes to intimacy and BDSM. How Rhea, dominant as she is, will sometimes let Dakota touch her, make her feel the same bliss that she gives Dakota. Her willingness to give over control, even just for a few minutes, shows just how much she trusts Dakota. Shayna has also learned through several rounds of watching Rhea and Dakota together, that nothing turns Dakota into a blushing, worked up, submissive mess of a person like being fucked with a strap-on until she's begging for release.
"I know we already have stuff," Rhea says, sitting on the floor of the bedroom next to Shayna. "But I wanted us to go through them and see if there's anything else you want to buy." She opens the box where they keep their various toys and restraints.
Shayna looks inside the box. "Do I want to know why you have this many strap-ons?" she asks.
Rhea laughs. "I like to have options," she says, grabbing her laptop and pulling up the site where most of the toys are from.
They're in the middle of discussing the pros and cons of the various strap-ons when the door swings open and Dakota starts to enter the room. The sight of her girlfriends on the floor, box open and toys spread out in front of them, makes her stop in the doorway. Hearing them talk so casually about the use of said toys, causes a blush to fill her cheeks.
"Hi love," Rhea says, her voice calm and collected as if she's not holding a vibrator in her hand. "How was your day?"
"Fine," Dakota manages to squeak out. "Sorry, I didn't realize you were in the middle of something," she says, starting to back away from the door.
Rhea stands up, pulling Dakota into the room and closing the door behind her. "You're not interrupting anything," she says, guiding Dakota to sit on the floor between them. "It's okay, we're just deciding if we want to order any new toys. You can help us if you want."
"Or you can just sit there and look pretty," Shayna chimes in with a teasing smirk.
Dakota lets out a little flustered whine, burying her red face in Shayna's neck. "Mean," she says, her voice muffled.
"You know you love it," Rhea says, smiling fondly at the shy girl currently blushing to the tips of her ears.''
Shayna returns her attention to the box of toys, rummaging around in it for a moment before pulling out a purple strap-on. "Oh, I remember this one," she says, giving Rhea a knowing smile.
"Wait, what?" Dakota asks, confused. They haven't used that one in a while.
Shayna turns to her. "Oh, so a couple of months after you two started dating, I found Rhea looking at strap-ons online. She asked for my help picking one out for you guys to use, and this is the one I helped her pick."
"Really?" Dakota asks, and Shayna nods. Dakota turns to look at Rhea, who is suddenly very interested in the carpet. "Why didn't you ever mention that to me?" she asks.
Rhea shrugs, looking up at Dakota with a shy blush on her cheeks. "I guess I was embarrassed that I needed to ask for help picking it out," she says.
"You have nothing to be embarrassed about," Dakota insists. "You were willing to seek out and accept help in choosing something that makes me feel good, and that makes me feel so, so loved."
Rhea smiles, giving Dakota a soft kiss. "Thank you Kota," she says softly.
"Anytime," Dakota replies. She turns back to Shayna. "You have great taste, by the way. That one is my favorite strap we have." She pauses for a moment before speaking again. "I know you've been hesitant to try using one of these on me," she says. "But if you feel ready and if you want to, I think it would be fun if you used this one on me."
Shayna is quiet for a moment, thinking over Dakota's words and all they imply. The knowledge that Dakota trusts Shayna enough to let her do something like this, sends a warm feeling through Shayna's chest. "Okay," she says, squeezing Dakota's hand. "I want to do it." She looks at Rhea. "Is that okay with you?" she asks.
"Of course it's okay with me," Rhea says. "You don't have to ask my permission for that stuff. If you two have something that you want to do, go for it." She smirks. "And I'll never say no to watching you make our princess feel good," she adds, the pet name making Dakota blush. "Do you want to finish looking at stuff first?" Rhea asks, nodding towards the computer.
Shayna smiles and nods. "Yeah, let's finish up with this first," she says. She turns to Dakota, who is looking at the screen and nervously biting her lower lip. "See something you like baby?" she asks. Dakota nods, pointing at a set of red silk ropes.
Rhea immediately adds the product to the cart. "Good choice princess," she says, giving Dakota a soft, encouraging smile. "I can't wait to use those. I can already picture how gorgeous you'll look, all tied up for us."
A whine escapes Dakota's lips as her cheeks flush pink. "Don't tease me like that!" she says, hiding her face in Rhea's shoulder.
"Okay baby," Rhea says, trying not to laugh at the smaller girl's flustered state. "Let us know if you see anything else you like, okay?"
Dakota nods, returning her focus to the computer screen as Rhea slowly scrolls through pages of toys. Shayna runs her fingers through Dakota's hair as she and Rhea discuss the options in front of them. Dakota just listens to them speak, still feeling shy when it comes to talking about sex in such a casual, easy manner. But she doesn't have to speak for her girlfriends to know when she's seen something that she likes.
"What do you think of this?" Rhea asks, clicking on an item. It's a spreader bar, one that can be adjusted to the length that works best for whoever happens to be using it. She looks at Dakota, seeing the shy, excited smile on her face. "Do you want to try it baby?" she asks.
"Do you guys like it?" Dakota asks, eyes focused on the floor, not looking at them.
Shayna tilts Dakota's head up, looking into her hazel eyes. "Kota, we like whatever will make you happy," she says. "If there's something that you want to try, then we'll get it. Don't worry about whether or not we like something, okay?"
"Okay," Dakota agrees, relaxing into Shayna's touch.
Rhea smiles fondly at her girls. "So, do you like this one baby?" she asks, nodding at the screen. Dakota looks at the image again, nodding. Rhea adds the item to the cart without hesitation.
Dakota looks at the screen, seeing how many things are already in the cart. "You guys don't have to buy things just because I like them," she says. "You're spending way too much money on me."
"First of all, we like these things too," Shayna says. "And second, we want to buy things that you like. We love being able to spoil you."
"And buying you things that make you feel good is a perfectly acceptable use of our money," Rhea adds. Dakota starts to protest, but Rhea cuts her off. "You're not going to change our minds on this one baby," she says.
As they continue to scroll through pages and pages of toys, Dakota stops trying to convince them that they don't need to buy everything that she likes. And while she doesn't verbally express her interest in things, her nonverbal reactions are enough for Rhea and Shayna to know what she likes.
When they finally finish combing through the website and their existing toy collection, Dakota takes the laptop and scrolls through the cart, butterflies filling her stomach as she scans the items that her girlfriends insisted on buying her.
A pink satin blindfold, the exact shade of her hair. The spreader bar and the red silk ropes that she had pointed out earlier. A second set of silk ropes, these ones in white. Four new strap-ons of varying size and color (Dakota had picked out two, the other two were already in the cart when she joined them). A red bullet vibrator with a remote control. Black nipple clamps connected by a silver chain.
"You guys spoil me too much," Dakota says, passing the laptop back to Rhea.
Shayna pulls Dakota into her lap, kissing the top of her head. "There's no such thing as spoiling you too much," she insists. She watches Dakota's gaze linger on the purple strap-on, the one that she had helped Rhea pick out. "Still want me to use it on you?" she asks.
Dakota feels her cheeks flush as she nods. "Yes," she says, her voice airy and her eyes bright.
"How do you want it?" Shayna asks gently, playing with Dakota's hair. "Do you want to be restrained?"
Biting her lip, Dakota thinks for a moment before answering. "If you're comfortable with using a strap on me for the first time without me being restrained," she begins, choosing her words carefully. "I think I would prefer not to be restrained. But I know you've been hesitant about doing this with me, so what would make you more comfortable?"
Shayna can't help but smile. Of course Dakota would be more concerned with Shayna's needs in this moment. "Baby, I'm comfortable with either," she says. "I want to make sure it's good for you. If not being restrained is what will make it good for you, then that's what we'll do."
Rhea finishes ordering the toys and closes her laptop. "Do you want me to be here for this?" she asks. "Or do you want it just to be you two?"
"I have no problem with you being here," Shayna says. "You've let me watch you two together. And it's not like you don't know what we're doing." She tilts Dakota's head up towards her, giving the smaller girl a gentle kiss. "Promise to let me know if anything doesn't feel good?" she asks.
"I'll tell you," Dakota says. "I have my safewords. And the same goes for you. I'm not the only one who can use the safewords."
"And the safewords are?" Shayna asks.
Dakota can't help but smile at the care that Shayna is taking with her, not rushing into anything. "Green if everything is good to keep going, yellow for a break, red or Eevee for a full stop." Shayna nods, giving Dakota's hand a squeeze.
Reaching under the bed, Rhea pulls out a black shopping bag and hands it to Shayna. "This is for you," she says, a soft smile on her face.
"You didn't have to get me anything," Shayna tries to say, but Rhea pushes the bag into her hands. Shayna reaches into the bag and pulls out a white leather harness. She feels her cheeks flush slightly, and she looks at Rhea with a shy smile. "Thank you," she says, pulling Rhea close and kissing her.
Rhea smiles fondly at Shayna. "I wanted you to have one of your own," she explains.
"I love it," Shayna says. She looks at Dakota, still curled up in her lap. "Ready princess?" she asks. Dakota looks up at her with bright eyes, nodding eagerly. Shayna smiles, moving Dakota out of her lap and standing up, setting Dakota down on the edge of the bed. "Can I take this off?" she asks.
"Yes," Dakota says, immediately melting into Shayna's touch as she lets her pull her t-shirt up and over her head.
Rhea, who is now sitting on the box of toys, smirks at the sight of the white lace bra cupping Dakota's breasts. "Our girl dressed up for you," she says to Shayna. "You've basically got her wrapped around your finger."
"So pretty," Shayna murmurs, running a finger over one of the lace straps.
Dakota shakes her head, blushing. "Not pretty," she says, guiding Shayna's hands to the waistband of her leggings.
"Patience, dove. I promise I'll take care of you," Shayna says, tugging Dakota's leggings down. "You're absolutely gorgeous. And I'm going to keep telling you that every time you say otherwise."
"You're nicer than Rhea," Dakota says. "She's threatened to spank me for saying I'm not pretty."
Rhea gives Dakota a look. "You and I both know you would have enjoyed it too much. And I'm not rewarding you for being mean to yourself."
Shayna gazes at Dakota, matching white lace underwear hugging her waist. "You look like an angel in white," she says. "So fucking beautiful." She slides her hands up Dakota's torso and over her breasts, fingers brushing over the thin lace. "Can I take this off?" she asks.
"Please," Dakota says, looking up at Shayna with wide eyes. Shayna reaches behind her back, unhooking the bra and letting it fall to the floor.
"Color?" she asks Dakota, as she guides the smaller girl to the center of the bed.
Laying back against the pillows, Dakota smiles up at Shayna. "Green," she says, with no hesitation or fear in her voice. She watches as Shayna puts on the harness, attaches the purple strap-on to it. "Purple is a good color on you," she says.
Shayna gives her a soft smile, leaning over kissing the tip of her nose. "I bet it's a good color inside you too," she replies. The blush on Dakota's cheeks instantly gets about three shades of pink darker, and Shayna can't help but laugh. "Can I take care of these, princess?" she asks, tracing a finger over Dakota's underwear.
"Yes," Dakota answers, lifting her hips to let Shayna slide the garment down her legs. Shayna tosses the underwear onto the pile of Dakota's clothes on the floor.
Climbing onto the bed, Shayna straddles Dakota's hips, running her hands up Dakota's sides until they reach her breasts. "Is this okay?" she asks. Dakota nods quickly, shuddering with pleasure at the feeling of Shayna's hands on her nipples. "Is she always this impatient before you fuck her?" Shayna asks Rhea, seeing the desperate look in Dakota's eyes.
Rhea laughs. "Pretty much," she says. "It's pretty cute, watching her squirm in anticipation."
Dakota turns to glare at Rhea, but Shayna catches her by the chin and turns Dakota's head to look up at her. "Eyes on me, princess. I want to look into your beautiful eyes while I fuck you."
There's a distinct change in Shayna's voice, which has become dominant in a way that Dakota has never heard before. "You're hot when you're demanding," she says.
"Why are you never this nice to me?" Rhea asks from where she's been watching them.
Dakota doesn't respond, eyes locked on Shayna. "I trust you," she says quietly, giving Shayna a small nod.
"I know," Shayna says, leaning down and kissing Dakota long and hard. Without being prompted, Dakota lifts her legs, wrapping them around Shayna's waist, ankles crossing behind her girlfriend's back. "So needy," Shayna murmurs as they break apart. "You really want it, don't you princess?"
"Please," Dakota says. "Please fuck me, Shayna. Make me feel good."
Even in their current positions, Dakota naked beneath her, Shayna feels her heart melt a little at the way Dakota is staring up at her with wide, reassuring eyes. "Okay dove, I'll make you feel good. Just relax, let me take care of you."
To say that Shayna makes Dakota feel good is an understatement. Unlike Rhea, who fucks Dakota hard and fast, with dominance and power, Shayna is gentle. She moves slowly, methodically. Watches Dakota closely, learns what makes her feel good.
When Dakota climaxes, the sounds that Shayna coaxes out of her are sounds that Rhea has never heard Dakota make. She watches as Dakota shivers with pleasure, soft moans and gasps growing louder until a moan that sounds almost musical tumbles from Dakota's mouth.
When Dakota comes down from her climax, she looks up at Shayna with a shy smile and rosy cheeks. "That was so good," she says, reaching up to pull Shayna down to her, kissing her softly. "Thank you," she whispers, her breath tickling Shayna's skin.
"Anything for you," Shayna replies. She carefully slides the strap out of Dakota, undoing the harness and setting both items aside. "How are you feeling?" she asks.
Dakota giggles, untangling her legs from behind Shayna's back. "Amazing," she says. "You?"
"So good," Shayna says. She looks over at Rhea, who hasn't taken her eyes off her girls. "You good, Ripley?" she asks with a smirk.
"Oh, I'm fantastic," Rhea says. "That was fucking beautiful to watch."
Shayna laughs, turning back to Dakota. "What do you need love?" she asks, brushing Dakota's hair out of her eyes.
"Cuddles?" Dakota asks, eyes wide and hopeful. Shayna climbs off Dakota's hips, scooping the smaller girl into her arms. "I'll take that as a yes," Dakota giggles. She looks over at Rhea. "Do you want to join us?" she asks.
Rhea smiles, standing up and climbing onto the bed with her girls, wrapping Dakota in a blanket. "I love you two so much," she says, kissing the top of Dakota's head. She turns to Shayna, giving her a kiss on the lips.
"Love you too," Dakota says, smiling up at Rhea.
Shayna hesitates to respond and Rhea worries she might have said something wrong until finally Shayna speaks up. "I love you," she says, giving Rhea another kiss. "And I love you," she says, tilting Dakota's head up to kiss her as well. "Thank you for letting me be a part of this."

Okay, tumblr... I am not much of a shipper. In fact, I don't even engage in typical fandoms.
However, there is no way I can continue going through the last few weeks of school without getting this off my chest:
Pencak Silat Kid and that girl in the gym are soulmates and you cannot tell me otherwise.

NOPE, NOPE, NOPE
I'M NOT BELPOIS! MY NAME'S HERVE PICHON! I AM NOT BELPOIS!
omg, are you the reason Belpois looks like he's hiding from the FBI? I'm sitting right next to him and he looks like a nervous wreck
Tumblr media
❀;; - "Belpois huh? Well I guess that depends...is this Belpois the kid that's been randomly spying on people in the gym? Because if so...nooooo. Of course not. But I suddenly do need to talk to him."

For the character ask meme: Dawn from PokéAni!
What I like about them
I love that she got to be the deuteragonist of her series, that not only did she get her own character arc and rivals, but also that the plot of that saga of the anime revolved around her just as much as it did Ash, with Dawn in fact getting pretty much the whole first episode to herself. She's also just a fun, spunky character, and her stepford smiling adds an interesting dimension to her character as well.
What I dislike about them
Hmm, I can't think of anything. Maybe that her outfit is so impractical for such a cold region? But that's not really her, nor is it exclusive to her anime version; it's a fault of the character designer for the DP games.
Favourite moment
I'm going to be honest, I don't have a clear enough mental map of the DP anime to answer this, haha.
Least favourite moment
Same as above.
A situation with this character that I want to see explored more
Not sure!
An interesting AU for this character
Maybe one where she got to do the Gym Challenge instead of focusing on Contests? Though unlike May, being a coordinator was Dawn's goal from the get-go, so that would require a bit of an overhaul to her character.
A crossover
Hmm, none really comes to mind.
OTP (or OT3+ etc…. just… favourite ship)
Dawn/Zoey, naturally.
Other ships?
Dawn/May and Dawn/Koharu are both good. Dawn also does have good chemistry with Ash, but idk, the girl's sapphic energy is off the charts. She and Ash are probably better suited to be friends.
BROTP
With Ash! Like I said, they have good chemistry. They're very good buddies and it shows.
NOTP
Dawn/Paul. He's just so awful in every way . . . why would you condemn her to that 😔
An assortment of headcanons!
I don't really have any, sorry!

Okay since I did Wally, it makes sense I would do Blue. Gonna try and keep it shorter than Wally:s lol. Blue's dynamic with the other rivals!
Silver: Little bro # 1. Next to Beryl, Blue pretty much understood Silver the most in his you get years, and because of that he became this mentor/older brother figure to Silvs. Next to the dragon den, Viridian gym became a safe space for Silver to just hang out, though his definition of hanging out is battling lol. Silver had to deal with the love saga that was Red and Blue and will constantly rip at them for it ( Blue would then mention something about Kenji and that gets Silver to shut up).
Wally: The Bestie ( next to his sisters and Red). How did these two become such close friends despite seemingly contrasting personalities? Blue would give you a long backstory as to how the two met and thus became friends. Wally would shrug and say " The fuck I know. But I am grateful to be his friend :)"( note: Blue did not teach Wally to swear. That was Green). The balance each other off really well tbh. Blue had gone full Karen for Wally once, me thinks. Blue has been concerned with Wally's desire for strength at the cost of bonding with his pokemon, but he ( and others) addressed it with him at some point. Wally and his pokemon are doing better for it! Wally, in turn, let's Blue just rant to him about his frustrations- gym stuff, Red, family stuff, his own goals in life...the man was very conflicted in what he wanted to do in life. These two consider each other their best friend, and I will die on this hill.
Barry: This one is hard since I don't know exactly how they would meet? The best I can think of is in b2w2 during the pwt, if Danica invited Barry along as a plus one. But even then, I'm not entirely sure about how blue perceives him. I do think he appreciates the energy and enthusiasm! Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if he saw him as another rival( of course Red and Green are his #1 rivals, and no one can top that). I can totally see the banter between these two being wild ( Blue seems to be the type to playfully egg Barry on).
Bianca: Being the grandson of the esteemed Prof. Oak and having your older sister eventually take the mantel of pokemon professor means that you- Blue - by proxy is always In The Know of the whozawhatsit in the pokemon scientific sphere. So,by proxy, he knew Bianca before officially meeting her. Daisy said that she's a sweet girl, and when meeting her ( thanks to Cheren) , he can say she is really sweet. Though he also appreciates the snark in her. Blue would say he's not too deep into the pokemon professor stuff ( he's not one in my au, but he dabbles into it here and there), but Bianca can and will sight the long conversations they would have about whatever sciencey pokemon topic that comes to mind. He ain't slick.
Cheren: So basically it went like this.
Literally anyone: Oh hey, I heard that Unova has a new normal type gym leader.
Blue, a "normal" type gym leader: Oh?
Literally anyone: Yeah, apparently he helped fight off Team Plasma two years ago.
Blue, who had encounters with his own regions evil team: Oh???
Literally anyone: Mhm. He used to be friends with the guy who stopped them, but that guy disappeared one day-
Blue, who is honestly still healing from everything, including Red just up and leaving: Oh you don't say?!
So basically Cheren is Little Bro # 2. He loves teasing him. It took a while for Cheren to really reciprocate( Blue was kinda Too Much, especially given his general, well, Blueness), but now they're really good friends! Much like Bianca, blue has had long conversations about pokemon and stuff ( which includes trauma and feelings of inadequacy).
Hugh: Another hard one, but probably like Barry. Appreciates the vigor, the drive, etc. Gonna look at pokemas for this one.
Okay time for rapid fire stuff cause this is getting long again.
Kalos rivals: Sorry to group them together :(. Blue knew about them before meeting them for the same reasons stated in Bianca's part. Shauna and him are always in contact due to the Chosen business, but Shauna has encouraged his Dramatic Bitch behavior lol. Sees a bit of Wally in Trevor, and likes talking to him about the Pokedex. Isn't super big on contests, but his sister( Daisy) would partake in them, so he would catch Tierno in a few here and there.
Alola rivals: His KIDS!!! Living in Alola means he sees them often, and once again became yet another mentor figure for them. This was at a point where Blue has become his most mature self, still classic Blue, but less likely to egg someone on for a response unless it's actually needed. He genuinely loves seeing them hang out together and enjoy life, as well as battling as they see fit. He gets really sappy around them lol. Gladion and Ames ( not a rival, oc) call him Old Man. In SM he's only 21 lmao.
Galar rivals: Have not met them properly I think. He had heard about Hop from Leon when he- Leon - was champion. He also probably tuned into the Galar gym challenge and watched everything about it, so he knows about Bede and Marnie from there. If I ever have them medy properly, I think Hop and Bede would be Little Bro #3 and 4. Marnie would be Little Sis # 1 ( Green is Blue's actual little sister in my au, so she doesn't count).
And yeah. That was long. Again. Ah well.

I don't wanna do shipping or anything I just want your opinion on the relationship between Protagonist and Arven, Penny, and Nemoma (and Koraidon/Miraidon cuz you can't forget them)
Fair enough! Well the protag is me by proxy so let's go down the list. Spoilers a-hoy obviously~
Arven: At first, kind of thought he was gonna be the typical arrogant type, the true rival akin to the first games, but then you get his story and ... I don't handle sob stories about animals well and I may have cried because HHH he's a good boy who was lonely and his only friend was dying so he of course he'd try anything, even the brief notes left by his parent's research of herbs so rare they might not even exist.
Penny: Haven't gotten to the end of her saga yet I don't think as I've still got the Fighting Star to face. I like her vibe though, shy kid who doesn't seem to mind that's she's left to her own devices? Loves the Eevee line so good taste already.
Nemoma: Cute at first, and very wholesome, but please for the love of god girl let me breathe I don't want to fight you all the time especially not when I've set myself up for the Gym Leader and suddenly you pop in.
Miraidon: I got this game because I wanted my jet powered dragon and it delivered. The fact he likes sandwiches so damn much is a bonus - very food orientated, like my dogs! Also it clocked for me the other day that his build kind of looks like a quadruped Xenomorph, and Xenomorphs are my absolute favourite alien design. He's so funky and cute mannerisms too!
