While watching as the Queen called out Penelope to make her Whistledown speech, I noticed the symbol on Lady Danbury’s necklace so I looked it up.

Unless I’m mistaken, it’s the Gye Nyame, an Adinkra symbol from West Africa.

The symbol is supposed to mean "except for God" and it’s intended to symbolize God's great, limitless power and the concept of not fearing anything except for God.

It seems like the perfect symbol for the bold & remarkable Lady Danbury to wear. And the fact that we see it right as Lady D is turning expectantly towards Penelope who is finally coming clean to the entire ton about the fact that she is Lady Whistledown, and potentially about to be ousted from society permanently by the Queen of England herself, feels very fitting.
