10. a blog (mutual or one you follow) that has made your fandom experience brighter oh god. there's many. okay i'm not going to actually tag anyone here, because if they see this they see this. and i'm definitely going to miss people. (answering for naddpod specifically here because if i didn't the list would be a mile long)

first of all, since i started posting clips and stuff, one of my truest delights has been seeing random comments in the tags as people reblog them. so shoutout to every person who has yelled in the tags while reblogging those @/damienthepious is forever the first person i was able to scream about this podcast with and the main reason i actually finished my first c1 listen through @/quicklings and i got to talking because of something she was working on and it’s been so fun in general (and was also the first naddpod person i started talking to through tumblr) @/guyramsayfieri i met at a few naddpod shows and really made the experience extra lovely for me (there are more people in this category but idk their tumblrs) i would add @/operationslipperypuppet to the list but recently she's been making my fandom experience much darker (emotionally) and i've had to block her (this is a joke, alli 100% fits into this category)

i don't know what DHE is...i'm guessing it's a typo for DEH?

assuming that: DEH is like the first draft of a student paper in AP lang in high school. it's got a lot of decent ideas bouncing around, but it isn't focused, and it has too many things going on at once for any one of them to stand out and actually like...Say Something meaningful. as a result the "finished" product (i hesitate to call it that, though i doubt it'll ever get the revisions it desperately needs) is messy and irritating.

like, one thing that stuck out really bad to me when i saw the show (years ago, it's stuck with me strongly since then) is the screens used in its set + stage design. they're constantly showing fake social media feeds, including before the show + during intermission, which feels like a big set up for the show to be commenting on how social media/the internet affects the events of the show: how tragedies spread like wildfire, get co-opted by strangers, how misinformation propagates, how the cycle of praise-to-cancel is perpetuated for every new trending person of the week. except the show doesn't actually do anything with those screens, other than use them as set dressing, and to convey that, i guess, the connor project has an internet presence? i know DEH was written + premiered just slightly before Cancel Culture(tm) hit its peak, but even in 2016 that was a real force in the online world to be concerned about. the fact that DEH sets itself up like it's going to comment on the internet/social media, but then never actually does, renders the screens just. Distracting. and annoying. either make a point or don't

anyway the music is also really hit or miss. basically everything Rachel Bay Jones sings on is good, Requiem is good, and i do like Sincerely, Me. everything else is pretty much boring and generic. i still find it hilarious how much better Owl City's cover of Waving Through a Window is than what's actually in the fucking show. sorry, but if you've written a song for your musical that can be completely removed from the context of your show and played on the radio, and neither the song nor the show will function worse as a result, then you have done a bad fucking job writing a song for your musical. lmao
