these are from the headlands international dark sky park and they do not do the view justice, but they give you an idea. personally i had no idea you could see the milky way with your own two eyes until i went there, i thought you needed a special telescope or camera lens - nope, it’s right there for the looking. it was fairly cold that night but i didn’t want to leave, i would’ve stayed there all night if i could, would’ve never had my fill of looking... it was truly a memorable experience and i get genuinely upset when i remember that this is what every single human on the planet should be able to look up and see every single night.
