Okay so bad news for everyone on YouTube right now

Starting the 13th, we will have an AI determine if we are children or not and if you are a child, than you are forced to send your ID, send a selfie or a credit card

This has the obvious cons of having your privacy being revoked from you and and in case there is a security breach, major identity thefts.

So what do we do in this scenario?

Well right now I have real idea as this is relativity new to me, but I do have two plans

Plan 1. Bug the shit out of them, send letters and send emails about how much of bad idea this is.

Include why the AI will mess up and target adults who watch cartoons, include privacy issues, censorship issues, anything you can think of that relates to this. I want you guys to bug the hell out of YouTube until they reverse this idea

Plan 2. Blackout.

Since the thing is coming out on the 13th.

The plan will be to completely avoid YouTube at all cost for that day, no watching, no sharing, no uploading, no nothing.

Download videos before things go down, watch Netflix. Whatever you do, don’t touch YouTube.

That’s all I can say right now, I also want you guys to let YouTubers know of this situation cause if it’s important for everyone on the website to talk about this immediately

look, I'm not saying that sebastian was playing bucky as a closeted gay guy since the very beginning, I'm just saying that there's such a blatantly vast difference between him "flirting" with peggy,

(how forced and performative it feels, the way that he's almost staring through her, not even truly interested in her; how it feels like an old script he learned a long time ago out of self-preservation, when he realized that things like this would be expected of him if he was to keep up appearances, and in this scene he's just slipping back into that old, safe skirt-chaser role out of instinct)

and him genuinely flirting with steve just 30 seconds before that,

(how natural and relaxed that interaction feels, how his body language speaks for him when he leans in close, how speaks in hushed private tones, the way he looks at steve and is playful with him and teases him and really makes you, as the audience, feel that chemistry and that delicious intimacy between them. the way he flirts like he means it, dammit)

that you just can't help but wonder, you know?

(I mean I guess the comparison is unfair when it's "woman he's speaking to for the first time ever" vs "the love of his life that he literally grew up with", but that's not my point here. my point is, we're supposed to buy into this sweeping once-in-a-lifetime romance between the hero and the girl, when both bucky and steve himself are much more interested in each other, than they are in any given woman they interact with in this film - including the one who's supposedly the main love interest. the one that in most other action movies they may have even fought over!! instead, she shows up in her sexiest dress and:

1) steve deliberately ignores all the hints she's trying to give him, he doesn't ask her out, he doesn't even run after her when she leaves (!!!), he just stays and gets another drink with his best buddy;

2) bucky's sizing her up but only because he's mad jealous and bitter that she's set her sights on his man while he was gone.

seriously, as flawed as this movie is, it still brings me so much fucking joy for how astoundingly gay it is)

Can't tell me Blitz didn't spend ages looking for the exact bunch of flowers that Stolas would have swooned over. Then was like "I'll show him" giving it to Jessy instead.

A guy he pissed off on his one and only date with Stolas.

Yer Blitz was a dick trying to flirt his way into Ozzie's, but he wasn't flowers with a little sorry card levels of a dick.

Basically everyone else gets cheese and hot sauce baskets, or just a card with a name on it.

But nope, where they had their first date, and Blitz bringing literally the perfect thing for Stolas.

A quick tutorial on how to Download Fics from AO3

After making this poll about the panic that comes when Archive of Our Own goes down, there seems to be a chunk of folks who didn't know they could download fics for offline use, or don't know how to go about it. Here's a quick tutorial for that.

You do not need an AO3 account (unless the fic you are trying to download is restricted to AO3 users only) you only need an internet connection and a device to download to, whether it's PC or a phone.

These instructions work for both desktop and mobile. At the top of the fic, where the chapter index is, there will be the download option on the right side, and an 'Entire Work' button the left side.

For One-Shots: Go ahead and click the download button.

For multiple chapter fics: In order to have the fic download all together instead of downloading each chapter individually, make sure you select the 'Entire Work' button. Like the names says, it displays the entire work on the webpage, and will download the entire fic with all it's chapters in the correct order when you go to download.

Archive of our Own will automatically download the entire fic work now instead of chapters.

Click the download button. You've got a couple of options:

What these options mean:

AZW3 - Amazon-developed ebook format that is designed for Kindles and Amazon's systems. Good if you want to read off of a kindle.

EPUB - Standard file format for Ebooks and is basically used as the default for pretty much most ebook readers. This is what I prefer to use when downloading to my phone.

MOBI - An older version of the AZW3. Older but standard as well.

PDF - Downloads the fics as a PDF. Can be read anywhere you can open a PDF.

HTML - Downloads an offline version of the exact webpage you are looking at. Fine if you want to keep the 'look' of AO3 but you can't change the text size or reading style like you can with ebook formats.

Not sure which one to download? Use EPUB since it's standard and readable by pretty much everything, retains images too.

You now have your fic downloaded to your device and can read it on whatever reading app you have. YAY!

Do keep in mind that these are offline files that do not synch with Archive. So if you download an ongoing fic that updates or is edited since you last downloaded, you will need to download it again to have the updated version.

I highly encourage you download your fics if you are able. Worst case scenario, if AO3 goes down for an indefinite amount of time or the author deletes or hides it, you still have it. (Only download, not distribute.) Best case scenario, you have saved yourself an inconvenience for later.
