Oude Gueuze à L'ancienne² '13-'14 ~ Gueuzerie Tilquin #Lambic #Tilquin
‘Lambic is anything but predictable.                                                                                                And until we accept the inherent unpredictability that every second entails, we are not accepting of life.’ Een Oude Gueuze is een blend van verschillende jaargangen lambik met een gewogen gemiddelde leeftijd van minstens 1 jaar waarbij de oudste lambik minstens 3…

I love beer. I love wine. I love straight spirits and mixed spirits. I love cider. Not all of each of them, but there are delicious things in each category.
But I know the most about beer. I like dry, coffee and berry-note stouts. I like vinous, berry and chocolate-note barley wines. I like mouth-puckering gueuze. I like sweet and sour fruit lambic. I like hoppy, fruity east coast ipas. I like malty vienna lagers and caramel and biscuit bitters. I like dark mild, and spicy belgian beers, and all the rest.
I've tried a fair amount of non-alcoholic beer as well. They're definitely getting better. The big thing they're missing, the thing that even the best ones haven't found a way to put in, is mouth-feel. It doesn't sound important until you don't have it. Non-alcoholic beers are thin. There are other issues: a common problem is a sweet-malty sickly taste that's similar to undigested sugar in beer that hasn't finished fermenting. If it's non-alcoholic because the alcohol has been removed, this process can take with it the volatiles that give you the citrus and other lighter scents, which is part of the flavour. The can try to put it back with dry-hopping, but it doesn't do the same thing.
And the best ones tend to be less complex than the best alcoholic beers. Perfectly drinkable, tasty, undemanding, but not exciting. I can't tell you what it is about the fermentation process that creates complex flavour, but I haven't found it in soft drinks, and not for want of trying when I was pregnant.
tell me in the tags either the worse drink you've ever had or what you do to alcohol to make it palatable

Sip the Best Belgian Draught Beers in Dubai: A Guide for Beer Enthusiasts
When it comes to enjoying a glass of craft beer, few experiences compared to sipping a perfectly poured Belgian draught beer in Dubai.
Known for their rich history and various flavors, Belgian lagers have secured a remarkable spot in the hearts of mixed sweethearts all over the planet.
Whether you are a carefully prepared expert or an easygoing consumer, Dubai offers different settings where you can partake in the best Belgian draft ales, and what preferred spot to begin once again the famous Belgian Lager Bistro?
A Taste of Belgium in the Heart of Dubai
With its provincial, comfortable climate that reflects the appeal of a customary Belgian bistro, it’s the ideal setting to investigate an extensive variety of Belgian draught beers in Dubai.
What compels the Belgian Beer Cafe in Dubai to stand apart is its different brew menu, exhibiting the absolute most famous and conventional Belgian brews that can be found on draft.
With over 20 remarkable Belgian mixes the bistro promises you get the opportunity to test different flavors, from new brews to strong stouts and fruity ales. Whether you’re new to Belgian ales or a cultivated fan there’s something for everyone at this space in Dubai.
Exploring the World of Belgian Draught Beers
Belgium is widely popular for its lager culture, with a fermenting custom that goes back hundreds of years. The country’s brewers have idealized their art, making probably the most adored lager styles on the planet. At the Belgian Lager Bistro in Dubai, you can jump into a universe of Belgian draught beers in Dubai and investigate the various styles that make Belgian blends so extraordinary.
1. Belgian Witbier (White Beer)
Belgian Witbier, otherwise called white brew, is perhaps the most reviving and well-known style. It’s fermented with a blend of wheat and grain, giving it a light, overcast appearance. Imbued with orange strip, coriander, and in some cases different flavors, it has a fresh, citrusy flavor that is ideal for the hotter months. Its smooth surface and adjusted harshness make it a simple decision for those new to Belgian lagers.
2. Belgian Dubbel
For individuals who favor a more profound, more mind-boggling flavor, the Belgian Dubbel is an exemplary decision. This dull beer is prepared with a high malt content, bringing about rich, caramelized flavors with traces of dim natural products like raisins and plums.
The pleasantness is delightfully offset with a gentle sharpness, making it a wonderful lager to appreciate with generous dinners like stews or broiled meats.
Tumblr media
3. Belgian Tripel
A Belgian Tripel is an area of strength for a lager with a higher liquor content. It’s prepared with a blend of pale malts, giving it a dry, fruity flavor that is adjusted by a zesty completion.
With notes of apples, pears, and a smidgen of honey, a Belgian Tripel is both reviving and warming, making it ideal for cooler nights. It works well with innumerable dishes, from fish to blasting food varieties.
4. Belgian Strong Dark Ale
If you need something rich and striking, a Belgian Strong Dark Ale ought to be at the first spot on your list. With its most unimaginable variety and hearty flavor profile, this lager is a mind-boggling mix that is ideally suited for tasting gradually.
It regularly incorporates sorts of faint chocolate, toffee, and dried normal items, making it a wanton choice for people who love an all the more full-bodied blend.
5. Belgian Lambic
One of the most unique styles of Belgian beer is the Lambic. Unlike other beers, Lambics are fermented spontaneously, allowing wild yeasts and bacteria to naturally ferment the beer, resulting in a complex, sour flavor.
There are different sorts of Lambics, including Gueuze and Kriek, each with its unmistakable person. Gueuze is a mix of youthful and old Lambic, while Kriek is a natural product lager made with cherries. On the off chance that you’re courageous, Lambics are a must-attempt.
The Best Time to Enjoy Belgian Draught Beers: Ladies Night Dubai Thursday
What’s better than enjoying a glass of your favorite Belgian draught beer in Dubai? Doing so on Ladies Night Dubai Thursday, of course! Every Thursday, many bars and restaurants in Dubai offer special promotions for ladies, and the Belgian Beer Café is no exception.
On Ladies Night Dubai Thursday, you can enjoy great discounts and exclusive offers while sipping on your favorite Belgian brews.
Whether you’re looking to unwind after a busy week or spend some quality time with friends, the Belgian Beer Café offers the perfect setting to make the most of this popular Dubai tradition.
With its loose yet dynamic environment, it’s the best spot to kick back and relish a virus glass of Belgian lager. Furthermore, with various choices accessible on draft, you can attempt at least a couple of blends, from reviving Witbiers to more strong Dubbels, and in the middle between.
Pairing Belgian Draught Beers with Food
Belgian beers are known for their versatility when it comes to food pairings, and the Belgian Beer Café in Dubai takes full advantage of this. Whether you’re enjoying a light lunch or indulging in a hearty dinner, there’s a perfect Belgian brew to complement your meal.
1. Witbier and Seafood
The light and citrusy notes of a Belgian Witbier make it the ideal ally to fish dishes. Attempt it with a new fish platter, shellfish, or shrimp for an invigorating matching that improves the normal kinds of fish.
2. Dubbel and Grilled Meats
A rich, malty Belgian Dubbel pairs wonderfully with grilled meats like steak, burgers, or sausages. The caramel and dark fruit flavors in the beer complement the smoky richness of the grilled food, creating a satisfying combination.
3. Tripel and Spicy Dishes
The fruity and zesty profile of a Belgian Tripel makes it a fabulous match with fiery dishes. Whether you’re getting a charge out of Thai, Indian, or Center Eastern cooking, the unobtrusive pleasantness and strong kinds of Tripel assist with adjusting the intensity and flavor of the food.
4. Lambic and Cheese
Belgian Lambics, particularly the fruity assortments like Kriek, are amazing when matched with cheddar. The poignancy of the Lambic stands out wonderfully from the smoothness of cheeses like Brie, Camembert, or Gouda, making an agreeable and brilliant match.
Enjoying the Belgian Beer Café Experience
Past the lager and food, the Belgian Beer Cafe in Dubai offers a warm, welcoming climate where you can unwind and partake in your beverages. The staff is educated and enthusiastic about Belgian lagers, and they’re dependably glad to prescribe new blends for you to attempt.
Whether you’re there for a tranquil night or to celebrate with companions, the environment is continuously inviting and loaded up with the energy of individual brew darlings.

Episode #192: Living On The Edge, Baby with Rob Hern of Short Finger Brewing | Adjunct Series
Kitchener, ON is a tight-knit brewing scene, and one man has been a pillar of the community for around a decade now. Rob Hern launched Short Finger Brewing in 2019 after running a successful home brew shop out of the same space, and he jumped back on the pod after two years to catch Cee and Nate up. They touched on his love for his "bastard Gueuze", why he transitioned from a home brew shop to a brewery, his connection with Bebo from Third Moon, how he curates his taproom lineup, the full story behind Pulp (his legendary collab with the now-defunct Barncat Artisan Ales) and successful launch event, his Eisbock collab with the also now-defunct Half Hours On Earth, his relationship with Arabella Park, the story behind their flagship Lando, and they also talked about the Short Finger x BAOS collab for the BAOS 10th Anniversary this spring. They got into five killer beers - Lil' Sippy mixed fermentation session saison collab with Escarpment Labs, True Believer Pale Ale, Existential Risk golden sour aged in peach brandy barrels, Fresh Hell Helles Lager, and Lando (AI) variant, their neutral oak blended barrel-aged farmhouse "bastard" Gueuze. This was fantastic - cheers!

Alesong Brewing and Blending announces their Spring releases.
image courtesy Alesong Brewing and Blending Press Release Alesong is pleased to announce the debut of four new blends for its Spring release the weekend of May 2-5 at their wine country tasting room and to retailers across the Pacific Northwest.  This release features four brand new beers for the season: Summer Breeze is Alesong’s newest Summer farmhouse ale. Brewed to be both complex and very drinkable, using almost entirely Oregon-grown ingredients, this beer pairs well with good food, close friends, and warm summer breezes! Setting out to create Oak & Ember, Alesong wanted to craft a stout that was bold, rich, and chocolatey while not being overly sweet, thus forgoing any additions of lactose or other adjuncts before aging in Henry Mckenna 10 year bourbon barrels for over a year. Beleza is Alesong’s latest-cocktail inspired beer, taking inspiration from the decadent brunch bellini. Using Pinot Gris grapes grown right next door and whole, organic, Northwest-grown peaches, this beer is bound to be your perfect Summer companion! It’s no secret that the brewers at Alesong have a great admiration for Belgian Lambic brewers and blenders, and are thrilled to release their first Gueuze-inspired blend of beers from three different vintages. Willambic was partially inoculated in the blossoming orchard next door and represents perhaps Alesong’s most complex blend to date.  Bottles available to members only. … Oak & Ember and Beleza will be available at better retailers throughout the Pacific Northwest beginning the week of the brewery release. For more information on membership and how to participate in the release events, visit www.alesongbrewing.com/join. More information on each of the new beers can be found at www.alesongbrewing.com/beers.  ABOUT ALESONG BREWING AND BLENDING: Alesong Brewing and Blending is an award-winning artisan brewery, winery, and cidery based in the heart of Southern Willamette Valley wine country outside Eugene, Oregon. With 100% of production spending time in oak, Alesong crafts unique and small-batch blends, producing styles that span the flavor spectrum. As the beer, wine, or cider in barrels matures, the team samples and selects each barrel individually to create a final blend. Paying homage to old-world Lambic blenders and artisan winemakers, Alesong strives to achieve complex and balanced final blends that are much more interesting and complete than the sum of their parts or any individual barrel by itself.
