"Where my nice, simple plan fell apart"
This is my take on how Astarion’s romance might have progressed with a silly, chaotic energy bard Tav, who doesn’t really fall for his initial manipulation but rather humours it, throughout Act 1.
There will be more – I want to flesh this out and write more ‘behind the scenes’ moments, and continue this into Acts 2 and 3 (I’m still only at the beginning of Act 2 as I write this!)
Astarion x Reader, Astarion x Tav, Astarion x Bard Tav
Comfort, fluff, budding love, cuddling, humour, no spoilers, non-explicit, light angst
Approximately 2,000 words.

“Let’s find our own little piece of nowhere. Somewhere we can lose ourselves and forget all this madness.”
“Astarion, you insufferable trollop, what piece of cheap pulp did you fish that line from?!” you squeezed your eyes shut, pinching the bridge of your nose. “No, wait, let me guess... Madame Scarlett?”
You watched his face turn from indignation to irritation, to finally settle in a resigned amusement, in a rapid succession.
“My, a fellow connoisseur of the vulgar arts? The Madame’s been dead and out of print for over a century. But yes.”
“A professional interest – a bard must be able to entertain all kinds of audiences, with all kinds of material”
“And would you indulge me with your expertise tonight? But I do much prefer show to tell...”.
This was the beginning. You did end up sleeping with him that night, despite his initial soppy attempt at seduction. And then it happened again another night. And then it kept happening...
You tried to be discreet about it at first, but of course it wasn’t long before the other members of your party noticed your nightly disappearances, and there was no point trying to conceal it.
You were vexed by their reactions – just about everyone found it necessary to at one point pull you aside and express their concerns about the vampire, asking you to be careful. This was, perhaps, justifiable – Astarion was admittedly quite stab-happy and had an inclination for bloodthirst (literally and figuratively). But he was on your side! And damned if you needed anyone’s approval for your choices in whom to bed!
By that point you and Astarion had turned the cliched language of poorly written erotica novels into an inside joke. Casually addressing each other in increasingly mawkish and over-elaborate terms had turned into a game. Once the secret of your escapades was out, you weaponised this game, turning it to deliberately exasperate everyone around you with your antics.
With your shared penchant for dramatic flair the two of you became utterly insufferable.
You would shout corny names at each other across camp:
“Oh precious, it’s your turn to set up the campfire! And no, I don’t care that you won’t be eating with us” you called out as the group stopped for the day to set up camp, but no answer followed. “My silver lynx..? Starry?? Snickerdoodle??”
“Your snickerdoodle wandered off to slaughter another bear!” came an exasperated shout from Wyll.
Strangers weren’t safe from your hijinks either:
“My sun, my beating heart, flame of my loins, ache of my head. All my riches, at your feet”, he declaimed to you in front of a confused and embarrassed vendor, as he rummaged through and shook out his pockets and sleeves, spilling an assortment of semi-precious gems, silver cutlery and somehow even an entire silver tray, pilfered from an abandoned manor you came across earlier.
Just to make the others uncomfortable, you would unceremoniously plop into Astarion’s lap at any given opportunity, including in your morning meetings to establish your itinerary for the day.
One evening, as you all sat around the campfire to enjoy a shared meal, Astarion (who would ordinarily stay away during this time, or sit nearby with a book) sank down next to you, lifted your hand towards his mouth, and nonchalantly sank his fangs into your wrist and began to suck, slurping.
“Oh, so I can’t enjoy a nice meal with everyone else, and have to be excluded? Bigots, the lot of you!” he chided, your blood dripping from his lips, to the sound of everyone’s shouts of shocked revulsion. Surprisingly, this was the closest you’d ever seen Lae’zel come to laughing.
(You and Astarion had arranged this prior, of course. Ever the gentleman, he always asked before he bit.)
Another night, as you were having a quiet chat with Shadowheart at her tent, while everyone else lounged at the fire, she asked: “So what is it like with him, really..? How is he?”
Suddenly finding yourself abashed by this genuinely intimate question, you covered it up with pomp and bravado. Winking at Shadowheart, you stood up, threw your head back and began to orate, making sure your thundering voice would be heard by the fire, which you had been separated from by a distance and some bushes:
“HIS MAGESTIC MANHOOD, WHEN UNSHEATHED, IS AN OBELISC OF MASCULINITY AND GLORY. IT IS A WONDER BIRDS DON’T CRASH INTO IT WHEN IT IS FULLY E- Ow! Who threw that?!”
A projectile salami from your camp supplies came flying from behind the bushes, and slammed into the side of your face.
All hell was breaking loose back at the campfire, as Wyll, Gale and a smug Astarion convulsed and shouted through poorly concealed laughter, blaming each other for the missile, as Karlach shook in hysterics and Lae’zel complimented the mystery thrower’s accuracy.
Gale did look more sheepish than the rest once you started to develop a black eye from the impact, promptly healed by Shadowheart.
What was it like with him?
Despite the flowery epithets and exaggerated displays of affection you awarded each other in public, in private you had a mutual understanding that it was all frivolous, no strings play. You had a parasite that could turn you into a mind flayer at any given moment, twisting in your brain. Every day bore violent encounters. Since the nautiloid crash, you hadn’t gone a single day without something trying to murder you. You didn’t want to have to worry about anything other than survival, and you took life day by day. Distractions were welcome, but actual romantic attachment would be a burden, you told yourself.
You thought of it as being friends with extended benefits.
You let him feed (well, snack, really) on you, of course. It wasn’t sexual, not since the first night. He used your wrist, so as not to be overwhelmed by the blood flow. He ended the sessions by healing you himself, assisted by a magical trinket he’d picked up somewhere on your journey. You made sure not to let Gale get his hands on that one.
In battles his arrows always picked off foes in your immediate vicinity, before they were directed to other targets. You’ve yelled at him for this, saying you were more than capable of holding your own, whilst you’d lost count of the revivify scrolls you’ve spent on Gale.
“Yes, well, the way the man goes on about his ‘natural talents’ and ‘mastery of the weave’, you’d think he’d put that big wise brain of his to developing a strategy for not getting stabbed so often” - Astarion rolled his eyes. “I’m just encouraging him to improve, really. And besides”, his eyes narrowed, “only I’m allowed to spill your blood, darling”. You frowned at that last bit, as he flashed you a sweet and almost innocent smile, and stalked off.
As for the other ‘benefits’ - the sex was intricate, if somewhat mechanic, almost too skillful on his behalf. Wanting more passion than efficiency, you eventually asked him to talk dirty to you. That made it nearly too intense for you to handle, and seemed to keep him more... personally engaged. During daytime you had to force yourself not to get caught up in flashbacks of his red eyes watching you writhe as he described what he was doing to you, what he was going to do to you, or how you looked while he worked your body.
The night that you, wanting to reciprocate, asked him exactly how he wanted to be pleasured and what he liked was a fiasco. You didn’t understand why. First he said something about being able to please you being his greatest reward and satisfaction (which you immediately shut down). Then he grew flustered and irritated, becoming uncharacteristically at a loss for words. You tried to divert the conversation, but the mood was unsalvageably ruined.
There was one takeaway from that debacle, however. After abandoning the idea of sex for the night, you laid next to each other, talking about nothing in particular: Baldur’s Gate, places you were both familiar with, comforts you were looking forward to having again. At one point he looked at his jacket, which you’d been lying on, and lamented that he couldn’t find any gold thread to fix the embroidery. You laughed and rolled over to give him a hug, and simply never let go. He wordlessly pulled you closer once it was clear you had no intention of leaving. That was the first time that you fell asleep and slept through the night in his arms.
This became somewhat of a ritual, or another game with unspoken rules. Once you were done with each other, you’d pretend to quickly fall asleep with your face nested in the crook of his neck, or to otherwise be too exhausted to get up and make way to your own tent or bedroll. He pretended not to notice the regularity with which this was happening. You pretended not to notice the soft kisses he started leaving on your neck or forehead once he thought you were really asleep. It seemed... important, somehow, that you both pointedly refused to acknowledge any of it. You sensed that otherwise a certain line would be crossed.
Last night, you were too exhausted to even think of anything but sleep by the time everyone started turning in for the night. Yet rest wasn’t even on the horizon for you – you remembered that you’d neglected to clean your weapons and carry out the well overdue maintenance on your equipment, which you did not allow anyone else to touch even when offered. You were planning to venture into the shadow-cursed lands the following day. You couldn’t afford to be sloppy. You begrudgingly set about your tasks. Astarion was as tired as everyone else, you figured it was needless to say you’d spend the night apart. And yet...
“I guess I finally get my bedroll all to myself tonight, how delightful” you heard behind you. “No one to wrap themselves around me, no one nuzzling into my neck... Only free, undisturbed personal space” You heard a hint of dejection beneath the sarcasm, and something in your stomach flipped, giving you pause.
“I’ll come back for a cuddle if you say please” you murmured over your shoulder.
“Never!” he rasped in a perfect imitation of Lae’zel when you asked the same of her before freeing her from a tiefling cage, and disappeared into his tent.
Over an hour later, as you collapsed into your own bedroll, you saw a pair of red eyes staring at you from across the camp, tent flap ajar. You held Astarion’s gaze.
“Please”, he mouthed soundlessly, smiling as he lifted the edge of his blanket.
Within moments, you slipped into his embrace, pressing your lips against his. But his kisses were gentle and feather light, lacking the usual persistent neediness.
You pulled away from him, locking eyes as he softly ran his hand down your cheek, brushing your lower lip with his thumb.
“Gods, you’re beautiful” he breathed.
That night he fell asleep with his head against your chest, listening to the sound of your heartbeat.
Your breath caught in a silent sob as you were overwhelmed by a bittersweet realization of how much you really stood to lose if you failed in the journey still ahead of you. You didn’t think you’d ever felt happier or more miserable before in your life, as you hugged him tighter.

⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘
The beginnings of dusk settled over the mountains, soft lavender clouds blushing as the amber sun settled behind them. You were settled at your desk, pen loose in your grip as you stared out of your window. The breeze was cool on your cheeks and you knew that it was probably time to pull the windows closed since the remnants of Summer were scarce, only obvious through the very last of the green leaves, of which were tinged red at the very tips. You could see the main courtyard of Jujutsu Tech from your room, meaning that you often knew who was present and where they were. Previously that day, you had watched Geto leave at 7am, then Nanami at 2pm, and Shoko and Gojo- presumably to the bar- at 5pm. You didn’t get offended about the lack of invite, after all, you often said no these days. Since Geto didn’t choose to go out much, you often chose to stay back with him instead. It was nicer than the sweaty noisiness of the bar Shoko liked. It was her special discovery in second year- a bar that didn’t ask for ID. The others quickly adopted it too, and despite them now being of age, they never grew out of it. You guessed they were emotionally attached to it now, despite the poor quality of the drinks. Geto and you often read together on those quieter nights, or you watched shitty horror movies. You had a tendency to be shyer around bigger groups, so being able to have time alone with Geto was nice, and you felt a lot closer to him because of it. You weren’t an idiot though, you knew he got a lot of female attention. It wasn’t uncommon for you to get glared at when you went out together, and there were occasions where girls had come up to you for permission to ask him out. Truthfully, these girls were often stunning, and part of you even resented Geto for being the one who got their attention, especially since he always politely apologised with a bow- or on his lazier days, he gave them Gojo’s number instead. What a waste.
You had been expecting Geto back at 4pm, but you hadn’t seen him come back yet. In an act of desperate boredom, you’d even checked his room, the training areas, the vending machines, and even the classrooms. Nope. No Geto in sight. It was a shame that he wasn’t there for a ‘just us two’ evening, but that concern was long gone by 6pm. Where was he? You had tried texting and calling him. No response. You had even texted Gojo about whether he’d contacted them.
Nah but u sure he isn’t stuck in the toilet or smth? xoxo
And Shoko.
nope.
not since tues soz
So there you were, sat at your desk, anxiously watching the school entrance. For a second, you had wondered about reporting him missing, however you shook it off. What could the police do that a special grade sorcerer couldn’t?
By the time it was dark, your back ached and you hadn’t made any progress on your homework for at least 3 hours. 9pm. Something was definitely wrong. You tried not to fret, you had noticed how tired he’d been lately- maybe he had chosen to stay in the city for a while to get his mind off things. You groaned, burying your head in your arms. You really missed him, and the worst part was that you were the only one.
See, Shoko and Gojo had the mindset of ‘if it was something he couldn’t handle, it’d be all over the news’, and you were more sensitive than them- you knew that- but it hadn’t stopped you from turning the news on anyway, letting it drone on in the background. Just in case. However, after a while, the hours of constant murmuring about war, murders, a girl being kidnapped, and heavy rain forecast for the next few days wasn’t doing much for your emotional state, so now you finally reached for the remote, turning it off, and by consequence, plunging yourself into deafening silence.
It was late and you were still in your uniform, you noted. You were tired too.
With a hefty sigh, you collapsed onto your bed, staring at your ceiling. The wind whispered, lowly outside, causing goosebumps to rise on your arms. You idly chided yourself for forgetting to close the window, but you couldn’t find the energy to do anything about it.
Finally, after a few deep breaths, you found solace in sleep.
⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘
You narrowed your eyebrows as you felt your body being jolted, large hands gripping your face, and then your shoulders. Groaning softly, you turned in your sleep, trying to make sense of the voice fading in and out of your brain. It didn’t sound like it was from your dream… It was hushed… low… soft…
It sounded like your name.
Cold hands touched your face again, turning your head. In response, your eyelashes fluttered open. You were surprised, in your groggy state, that you couldn’t see your room. Was something blocking your view? Then, regretfully, you noted that your uniform was sticking to your skin, and that you never did change.
Also, it was freezing.
“Hey.”
You jumped.
“What the fuck.” You croaked, squinting upwards. “Geto?”
“Yeah-”
“Finally.”
“Look-”
“You fucking stink.”
“Ok, just-”
“No seriously, it’s rancid. Hang on, let me get the light…” You mumbled, blinking sleepily.
“Wait, first I should tell you-” Your numb fingers found the light switch, and you flicked it on.
“Ok, ok,” You paused, eyes widening as his figure was illuminated, and suddenly you were very awake. “What the fuck.”
Geto was dripping with blood. His face, his shirt, his trousers- drenched. You studied his face, head cocked. He thinned his lips, looking… mildly unimpressed.
“As I was trying to say,” He started, “I’m leaving.”
“You… just got here.” You muttered, squinting at him.
“No, I-” Geto sighed, running his dirtied fingers through his loose hair, “I’m leaving Jujutsu Tech.”
“Why?”
“I want to create a world of only Jujutsu sorcerers.” He swallowed, hands clenched by his sides. You stilled, mind buzzing.
“How…” You rubbed your temples, looking around, “How… did you get in here?”
Geto stared at you, dubiously. “That’s what you want to ask?”
You nodded. “I have other questions too, but I lock my door at night and now I have safety concerns.”
“Your window was open.”
“Oh yeah.” You mumbled, running a hand over your face. “Fuck.”
“I’m tired of the higher-ups avoiding the root of the problem, so I’m leaving.” Geto continued, carefully.
“Oh.” You said, struggling to find words. “Right now?”
Geto looked at you strangely, then nodded.
“Do the others know?”
Geto shook his head.
You stared at him for a second, eyebrows furrowed, a pensive frown fixed on your face.
“Holy shit!” You sat up, eyes wide with realisation. “Whose blood is that?” You raised your voice, gesturing at his shirt. You were so used to seeing gore as a sorcerer, it hadn’t even occurred to you that the blood on his clothes was anything strange at all.
“Don’t be so loud.” Geto hissed, “It’s just from some non-sorcerers.”
With a raise of your eyebrows, you scrutinised him, “Just some non-sorcerers’?” You scoffed. “Just? How many?”
He swallowed, “112.”
You blinked at him.
“Just… 112… innocent people?” You replied, slowly.
Geto breathed, deeply, “I had to.”
“What would’ve happened if you didn’t?” Your voice climbed as you gestured frantically.
“I wouldn’t have solidified my resolve.” Geto’s shoulders tensed.
You almost wanted to laugh.
“It’s always you and your fucking resolve, isn’t it?” You muttered, dryly. Geto watched you, uncomfortably, his arms hanging uselessly by his sides. A heavy silence hung in the air like a toppled vase, microseconds away from shattering on the floor.
You sighed heavily, crossing your legs, “So… what now?”
“Come with me.”
“Excuse me?”
Geto crouched to your level, hands reaching for yours, “I don’t care if you hate what I do, just come with me.”
You froze, fingers twitching between his clammy hands.
“You’ll have a home, an allowance, I’ll try to give you the best life possible. I don’t want to leave you here to work 50 hours a week and then to die at 26.”
He had a point.
It was a good offer.
Your eyes darted between Geto’s dark ones. “Why me? Shouldn’t you take Gojo?”
“I couldn’t, even if I wanted to.” Geto squeezed your hands tightly. “Satoru enjoys it- fighting with the higher ups and spending his free time exorcising curses. It’s who he is. It’s not who you are, though.”
“It’s not.” You agreed, softly.
Geto moved to perch on your bed, but you swatted his shoulder, silently gesturing at his bloody clothing. He nodded, an amused glint in his eyes, as he moved to politely kneel on the floor. You climbed out of your bed to sit next to him, shivering slightly at the iciness of the wooden floorboards. Stretching your legs in front of you, you slowly exhaled.
At least he was safe, right?
To be honest, you still didn’t really know what to think of it. It’s not something you had even thought to prepare yourself for. You’d miss him if he left, you knew that. He knew that you didn’t enjoy being a sorcerer, and you were a little pissed that he had used it against you, but he wasn’t wrong. Being a curse user with him didn’t sound half bad, either. It wasn’t an easy decision to make though and he had to understand that.
“We need to get you out of those clothes.” You murmured.
Geto looked at you, “Do you even have anything I can change into?”
You shook your head, “I can stop by your room, I’ll get a bath running.”
“We can’t.” He replied, “I don’t want to be seen.”
“It’s 2am, Geto.” You said shortly after sparing a glance at your clock, “We’ll be fine.”
Geto looked hesitant as you stood up, offering him a hand.
The walk to the bathroom was silent as you snuck past the dorms. Gojo and Shoko were long asleep, so being caught wasn’t too much of a concern. After retrieving a few bits from Geto’s room, you crept into the bathroom, locking the door behind you. The tiles were cold under your bare feet, but you paid it no mind as you turned the bath tap on, waiting for the water to run hot. Behind you, Geto changed out of his ruined uniform, and you willed yourself not to look. Silence settled over the two of you again, but you knew this time it was because you were deep in thought. Once the tub was full, you turned the tap off, stepping back to allow Geto to climb in. He thanked you softly before stepping in, but your eyes were fixed on the floor as your cheeks heated. When you looked up again, you saw that he was mostly submerged by the water, the ends of his inky hair soaked and curling as it floated in the crystalline water. He watched you expectantly, his gaze sweet and warm, like honey, as you rolled your sleeves up.
Carefully, you poured some of the water over his hair using a cup. You then reached for the shampoo. After pouring a dollop onto your palms, you massaged it onto his scalp. He leaned back, sighing softly as you washed his hair, fingernails gently scratching his skull.
“Where are you going next?” You started, continuing to wash his hair.
Geto hummed pensively, “Who knows… Where do you want to go?”
Your hands froze in place. “I never said I’d go.”
“Right,” Geto said, “but you will, won’t you?”
“No.” You replied, defensively.
“No?” He sounded amused.
“Nope.”
“In that case, maybe I’ll go abroad…”
You swallowed, “How far?”
“Maybe somewhere pretty like Croatia.”
“…That’s far.”
“It is.” Geto agreed.
“Can I convince you to stay?”
“Nope.”
“Ok.” You frowned, resuming the movement of your fingers in his hair. After a moment you stopped again, “What if I promised to join you later?”
Geto sat up.
“I have too many loose ends,” You added, “I don’t want to regret this.”
“How long?”
You exhaled, slowly, “Maybe a year or two?”
Geto looked at you over his shoulder, his stare dark, “That’s long.”
“Well,” Meeting his gaze, you raised an eyebrow, “I hope you’re willing to wait for me, then.”
“I am.” His response was quick, maybe even too quick as it took you off guard.
“Ok.” You nodded slowly, “That works.”
The rest of the bath was quiet, the two of you in contemplating the decisions being made. Only the lulling waves of the water, lapping against the white porcelain tub, alongside both of your soft breaths filled the otherwise silent room. Geto’s hair was silky as you ran your fingers through it. In the light of the bathroom, you noticed how the finer strands looked more chocolate than black, notes of hazel glittering amongst the glistening, dark locks. You squeezed the excess water out of his hair, then dried your hands on your trousers. Afterwards, you moved to stand in front of the bath so that you could see his face. He looked elegant. It seemed that he had either lost, or chosen not to wear his gauges as his gaping earlobes hung, empty. You realised then that you had never seen him without them before. It was different. Previously, you had brushed his hair away from his face, allowing you to see him without obstruction, and you thanked yourself for it now. His face was chiselled, everything about him seeming so sharp from his cheekbones, to his jawline. There seemed to be more colour behind his tanned skin, at least more than there used to be. The purple blotching under his brooding eyes was still there from months of exhaustion, but his facial expressions no longer held that lingering fatigue anymore. He looked healthier, happier even, than he had for a while. Geto’s thin eyebrows were raised as he stared at you, no doubt because you were staring at him. You couldn’t help it though, the way droplets tumbled down his broad shoulders was hypnotising and you almost wanted to condemn the water for concealing the rest of his body under a thick layer of bubbles.
“Are you done?” Geto drawled, sounding equal parts charmed and bored.
You cocked your head, furrowing your eyebrows, “No, not quite.” You muttered, absentmindedly.
He really was beautiful.
In that moment you understood every girl who had given you death glares for standing with him, and every girl who had boldly asked for his number. God knows, you’d be too scared to. You pitied that they were never able to see him like this. Every girl deserved this at least once, you thought, it was definitely more therapeutic than anything a psychiatrist could offer you.
Lethargically, you stretched your arms above your head, yawning. “Ok, yeah I’m done.”
For a second, it seemed that Geto was trying to glare at you, but starting with the slight twitch of his mouth, he broke into soft, flustered laughter.
“Fuck,” He ran a hand over his face. “You really are something, aren’t you?”
Suddenly unsure of how to respond, you looked at him, wide-eyed, your cheeks burning.
Geto smiled at you affectionately, “Just pass me my towel, please.”
You nodded, reaching for the white, fluffy towel you had left out for him. When Geto made a move to get out, you covered your eyes.
“I was meaning to ask,” His voice sounded somewhere behind you, “how come you’re still wearing your uniform?”
Oh yeah.
“I didn’t exactly intend to fall asleep like this, you know.” Your hand moved from your face to pull at the creased fabric, self-consciously. “I was kinda distracted yesterday.”
“Oh?” The rustling of Geto’s clothing paused. “How come?”
You scoffed, “Because you went missing? I had the news on and everything.”
“You did?” He cooed, teasingly, pulling a shirt over his head, judging from what you could hear.
“…Yes.” You scowled.
The way he said your name after that was far softer than you had ever heard it before. It made you feel warm in every nook and cranny of your body, like fire spreading from your cheeks, and flickering inwards to consume your beating heart. When you felt his hand land on your shoulder, you tensed, chewing on the inside of your cheek with anticipation.
“I’m sorry.” He said, voice low and smooth.
You turned to see him changed into a white t-shirt and grey joggers. “Really?”
Geto nodded, “I didn’t realise that you’d worry.”
“Of course I would.” You looked up at him, carefully studying his face.
“I know it’s selfish but… I’m glad you did.”
His confession made you smile warmly.
“Stay the night.” It wasn’t a question, you knew that he wouldn’t be able to find a hotel room at this time.
Geto shook his head, “You know I can’t, my room is directly next to Satoru’s. It’s too risky.”
You rolled your eyes, fondly, “Stay in mine, then. Shoko won’t wake up until 3 in the afternoon.”
He opened his mouth to protest.
“This is non-negotiable, by the way.” You added.
His mouth closed.
⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘
By the time Geto had tucked himself into your bed, you had changed into pyjamas. It was cute seeing him snuggled next to your plushies, it just seemed so… right. You climbed in next to him, unable to close the gap between you, despite yourself. Admittedly, you had been expecting some kind of argument over who would take the bed and who would offer to sleep on the floor but end up taking the bed anyway, but much to your relief, Geto seemed too exhausted to care. You weren’t going to complain. For a while, you just watched each other, wordlessly, eyes half-lidded.
“Will you be gone when I wake up?”
You knew the answer, but you asked anyway.
Geto shifted under the covers, brushing his hand against yours. “Probably.”
“Shame.”
He watched you for a moment, moving his hand to cup your cheek. Like many times that night, you met his gentle gaze, leaning into his touch, gingerly.
“A year is a long time.” Geto murmured.
You agreed.
“It’s a long time to wait to do something I’ve been wanting to do for months.”
Fuck anything you had said before about being tired, you were wide awake.
“Excuse me?”
Geto smiled at you, lopsidedly, “Sorry if I read you wrong but… I like you. I really do.”
“And…” You swallowed.
“I want to say goodbye to you… properly.”
Fuck.
“I’d like that, Geto.” You whispered.
Before you knew it, he was on top of you, muscular thighs hugging your hips. You sat up, hands reaching to pull him down by his collar. When your lips crashed into his, you felt euphoric. As his warm lips moved against yours, your hands moved to his hips, slipping under his t-shirt to trace the ridges of his abs. You felt his muscles tense as you touched them, paired with a low ‘fuck’, whispered into your mouth. When Geto leaned back to peel his shirt off, you instantly missed his body, but the sight of his torso in full was… jaw-dropping. Without doubt, you knew that he was the kind of man that the Ancient Greeks erected temples for. Everything about him was beautiful, from the dusky areola which orbited his nipples, to the trail of hair below his navel. You swallowed, running your hands up his torso. In response, Geto leaned down, pressing a kiss to the crown of your head.
Next to go was your shirt, which ended up on your floor next to his. Geto’s hands were quick to cup your breasts, fingers brushing the sensitive nubs as he gently squeezed them. You whimpered, softly, looking up at his focused face.
“Please…” You arched your back, pushing your chest towards him. He swore under his breath before pushing you down so you were horizontal. In an act of fleeting tenderness, he brushed your hair from your face, pressing a chaste kiss to your lips, before attacking your neck with bites and kisses. You gasped as his hands roamed downwards, grazing over your stomach before his fingers strayed under your waistband. He paused his work on your neck to look up at you, silently checking on you with a sweet smile. You nodded, slipping one of your hands into his damp hair as you guided his head back to your neck. Without hesitation, he started pressing open-mouthed kisses to your skin, no doubt leaving a myriad of marks. When his hand breached your pyjama bottoms, cupping your cunt with excruciating affection, your stomach erupted with butterflies.
“How- do you- want- me?” He asked you between kisses, nose buried in the crook of your neck.
You swore, hips uselessly pushing against his touch, “I’m really not picky.” You rushed, becoming more and more desperate for his touch.
Geto snorted, pressing a gentle kiss against the column of your throat, “That’s not very helpful, sweetheart.”
“Just- touch me!” You whined, impatiently, your grip on his hair tightening. As you tugged, Geto made a low noise at the back of his throat.
“Whore.” You laughed breathlessly as he playfully bit down on your neck, his fingers finally slipping between your folds.
Geto smirked into your neck and you could feel it. “I wouldn’t be getting so cocky, if I were you.” He warned, circling your clit with his fingertip.
“Do your worst.” You grinned, pulling his face back to yours to make out with him again. When you pulled his hair again, he moaned against your lips oh-so prettily, fuelling the burning lust inside of you. You were hyper-aware of every graze of his skin against you, somehow his fingers against you felt 10 times better than you own and it made you insatiable. You could feel the coil in your lower stomach begin to snap as Geto’s tongue fucked your mouth, shamelessly moaning against your tongue. You were so close, soso close…
Geto pulled away, watching you with a grin. “Sorry, sweetheart.” He kissed your cheek, apologetically, “I’m impatient, and I really fucking need you right now.”
Despite your initial frustration, his words set your heart alite as you whined. He grunted as he lifted his hips, enabling you to kick your pyjama bottoms off, hastily. When you spread your legs for him, he sat back, using his middle and index finger to spread your dripping folds.
“Fuck.” He breathed, pressing his thumb against your entrance, “You’re soaked.”
Your hips involuntarily jutted into his touch, desperately searching for more.
“Geto, please.” You begged, hands clenching your sheets. His eyes flickered up to yours, his gaze dark.
“Suguru.” He muttered, starting to palm himself through his joggers, “Please. Call me Suguru.”
In the moonlight, the outline of his cock looked more impressive than any Renaissance painting you’d ever seen. You needed him so badly it hurt.
“Fuck, Suguru…” You pressed your thighs together, needily, as you watched him pull his joggers down, his cock hard and heavy, springing to stand against his lower stomach.
He was big.
No fuck that, he was massive.
You knew you had never even tried anything that big in your life, but maybe it was the way his precum dribbled down his thick shaft, you didn’t feel nervous at all.
Geto leaned in to kiss you softly, uttering gentle praise as he pressed his leaking tip to your entrance. Your fingers found purchase around his neck, fingernails digging in at the ache of the intrusion.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck…” Geto groaned against your lips, “Fuck, you feel so good, so fucking wet for me…”
Once he was halfway in, he slowed to kiss your cheek. “Such a good fucking girl.”
Impatiently, you rocked your hips against him, making him slide in further. You moaned, gasping at the feeling of being so full.
Geto wasn’t faring so well either, letting low whines slip as he inched in a little more until his hips were flush with yours.
His eyes met yours desperately, “You ok?” He swallowed, watching you carefully as you adjusted.
“Mhm.” You uttered, weakly, “You can move.”
Geto nodded, cheeks flushed, as he experimentally fucked into you, the steady slapping of your skin speeding up as you begged him for more. With a groan, he buried his head in your neck, releasing soft pants and grunts against your bruised skin. You cried out, nails raking down his back as his pace bordered on lethal as he pounded into you, forcing your body up and down your bed.
“Mhmm, ‘Sugu!” You whined, arching your back as he pressed inside of you. Geto nipped your neck, hands securing your hips as he changed his angle, hitting that sweet spot inside of you that made you drool.
“Right there- right there- please-“
You wrapped your legs around his waist as he abused your cunt, the wetness soaking the insides of your thighs and no doubt Geto’s crotch as well.
“Right there?” He teased, but his voice was husky and it was clear he was approaching his peak from the way he grunted after. One of his hands moved from its position on your hips, instead pressing down on your lower stomach. You wailed, thrashing against him as the burning pressure in your lower stomach climbed. You were so close.
“Fuck, please- Suguru I need you-” You were cut off by Geto’s lips as his hand moved to where you needed it the most, his fingers rubbing your sensitive clit. His pace sped up as he chased his own orgasm, the heat of your core irresistible to him.
“Fuck.” Geto groaned, “Can I?”
Your thighs tightened around his waist against your will. “Fuck no.” You hissed between kisses.
“Shit.”
It was too good, you didn’t want him to pull out, and you knew sure as hell that he didn’t either. You couldn’t risk it though.
With a final pinch of your swollen clit, you came, legs shaking and fingers tugging at his hair as you cried out. Geto wasn’t far behind, swearing as he pulled out despite your legs trapping him in.
With a few final tugs of his length, he came on your stomach, panting as he watched his spend dripped down your thighs.
“Fuck.”
“…Yeah…”
You closed your eyes, basking in the sleepiness of the aftermath. Somewhere next to you, Geto moved, leaning over you before you felt soft fabric on your lower stomach, cleaning up his mess on your body and your own mess between your thighs.
“Thanks.” You muttered, sleepily.
When Geto finally lay down next to you, he pulled you into his arms, kissing your forehead tenderly.
“I’ll see you again one day.” He whispered against your skin.
“You will.” You murmured, ignoring the lump in your throat, “One day.”
Geto released a content hum which vibrated in his chest and throat.
“I miss you already.”

Alone. Helpless. Countless emotions haunted Kim Seonwoo, dragging him down with them. He begun to dread waking up every single day, knowing that he’ll be discouraged by his own progress.
School was beginning to feel rather overwhelming. Wasn’t 10th grade supposed to be all about spending memorable time with friends with no care about tomorrow?
The shady trees and colourful slides around him began to blur as tears threatened to spill out of his eyes. He clenched his fists tight, trying to force all the emotions down his throat.
“Seonwoo!” a voice called—melodious, sweet, and enlightening. A voice that belonged to you, his best friend.
Shit.
Seeing that Seonwoo wasn’t waving back at you cheerfully, as he normally would, your heart began to pang with worry. Your legs quickened their pace, driving you to Seonwoo as fast as they could.
“Seon-”
“Hi, Y/N,” he smiled as he quickly cut you off, hastily blinking back tears.
“You walked back home without me,” you said, pouting slightly. You fidgeted with your backpack straps. “I waited for 30 minutes in front of the gate! I seriously thought I made you upset or something.”
Seonwoo forced a chuckle, his eyes fixed upon the algae that had grown onto the base of the bench he was sitting on. “I’m sorry. I… I didn’t mean to.”
“There’s something wrong,” you said abruptly after an awkward period of silence—that involved Seonwoo trying his absolute hardest to avoid your interrogating gaze. “But, you’re hiding it from me. And I’m guessing it’s been like this for, like, a while.”
Seonwoo immediately looked up, finally making eye contact. “Huh?”
“Don’t you ‘huh’ me, Kim Seonwoo,” you rolled your eyes, huffily taking a seat next to him. “I’ve known you for quite some time now. Trust me when I say, I know when to spot an upset Seonwoo.”
A couple of minutes passed by with complete silence. Seonwoo threw his gaze far away, dazed as your look on him went unnoticed.
Noticing how your best friend of almost 3 years—who knew you like the back of his hand, who was always there with you no matter how happy, dumb, or sad you are—acted so out of character, you couldn’t help but feel a portion of the emotions he felt.
“You know,” you chuckled gently as you began, glancing at Seonwoo, “today I finally got the butter sugar bun I’ve been wanting to eat for ages. It was finally restocked!”
Licking your lips, you reminisced at the taste. You kicked your legs in the air, excited, “it was sooo good, Ddeonu! I wish you were there to eat it with me. Where were you?”
“Library,” he muttered a few seconds after.
You pressed your lips together, sighing. You hoped that changing the topic would’ve brought Seonwoo back into his normal self; but nothing was working.
Desperate to cheer him up, you took a deep breath.
“You never go to the library without me,” you replied, hugging your legs with your arms as you turned to face him, “are you upset with me?”
Seonwoo failed to meet your eye.
“No.”
“Yes. Yes you are.”
“No.”
“Yes, you are. Seonwoo, I know you–”
“No, you fucking don’t!” Seonwoo yelled sharply, directly into your face. The shock it gave sent you tumbling down the bench; you fell flat on the ground.
“Seonwoo…”
“You don’t know me, Y/N! Stop acting like you care, stop acting like I’m the bestest friend you could ever have!”
As soon as those words left Seonwoo’s lips, something in you snapped. Within seconds, your fist landed onto his lips, throwing him slightly to the back.
Towering over his figure, you seethed, “fine. You know what? I guess I don’t know you after all. The Seonwoo I know is kind, gentle, and caring. He would never yell at me face for fucking asking how he’s doing.”
A tiny pinch of guilt seeped into you as you watched Seonwoo wipe blood off his lips.
“The Seonwoo I know is my best friend—who I’ll trade nothing in the world for.”
The world fell silent as the two of you stayed to soak in what just happened.
“If you’re not saying anything, then I’m going home,” you then said, after what seemed like eternity of waiting for some kind of verbal response from Seonwoo. He hadn’t met your eyes ever since you stated how you truly felt about him. That you saw him as your best friend; your rock; your companion.
Though, before you could leave, Seonwoo grabbed your arm. And as you turn to face him, you are greeted with something you’d never expect to see.
“I’m sorry, Y/N,” whispered Seonwoo, his voice throaty. His hand tightened its grip on your wrist. Tears began to flow down his cheeks, causing his beautiful eyes to sparkle. “I’m sorry, I really am. I-I didn’t mean to say that to you. I don’t… I don’t know what I was thinking–”
“It’s okay, really,” you replied, reaching for his hand.
“I knew you were going through something, Seonwoo,” you continued, oblivious to the fireworks that started to blast in your best friend’s heart.
“I’ve never seen you look so… broken, you know? I-I don’t know what to do to comfort you. I still don’t,” you chuckled.
Squeezing his hand tight, you smiled. “I thought of giving you some space to sort yourself out, but if you need anything, I’ll be here.”
Seonwoo, upon hearing your words, couldn’t stop his tears any longer. He cried his heart out, and even though it deeply concerned you, you knew best to remain there with him.
“Seonwoo…” you hugged him, slightly surprised to find him reciprocating the gesture swiftly.
“I’m struggling,” he confessed, face buried in the comfort of your hoodie, “with everything. I’m on the verge of failing, Y/N.”
“I know it’s weak of me to cry–”
“It’s not.”
Seonwoo chuckled amidst his (still flowing) tears, which made you slightly happy. You managed to lift his mood up a little!
“I’ll help you, you know,” you said, patting his back. “I’ll help you until you become one of the top students of Decelis International School.”
Seonwoo giggled, causing tingly vibrations throughout your body. “Thanks,” he murmured into your hoodie, a few seconds after his giggle settled down. “I owe you my life, Y/N.”
Squeezing into the embrace, you nodded. “Anything for you, Seonwoo.”
Seonwoo shook his head, grinning as he broke the hug. “Oh, don’t say that—you’ll regret it.”
“What do you mean?”
“Yeah, since you’ll do anything for me—I’ll make you do all my homework, do all my projects– ouch! What was that for?”
“Don’t make me take back my hug and my words!” you exclaimed after hitting his head.
The two of you erupted into fits of laughter; the orange sunset painted across the sky around you. The moment was perfect—everything seemed to go by slowly, and it seemed like it was only Seonwoo and you.
“And, Seong-ja, that’s how I fell in love with your mother.”

Always read your fics and enjoyed them from afar , , why not send a request ! ^^ Don't feel pressured to write this too this is a little weird now that I read it over and sorry for the long req ! ! >< Could you write some an angsty or fluffy oneshot of a reader infected with the deadly flu during (i think) early season 4 and Daryl determined to cure her of the sickness. Them both having conversations between the glass of the prison where the reader is just at the point of giving up and accepting they'll die by this flu and Daryl is trying to give them hope. There's the scene with the group who went to the veterinary (..?) college/university to grab medicine for Hershel to use where they find out Bob didn't grab shit and Daryl just goes off at him because the reader was so kind and generous to him wdym you only grabbed BOOZE?? And then it ends with the reader who's cured of the flu, running into Daryl's arms both relieved and happy that they can finally hold each other again. Which ends in Daryl showering them in kisses because yay they're cured ! The idea just came to me while I was laying at the beach, "If the reader, his lover, was infected by the flu how much more angry would Daryl be with Bob when he only grabs alcohol?"
quarantine — daryl dixon
in which the flu catches up to you, and daryl is stressed about losing you
note: my requests are still open!! i have a few to write but im still happy to accept them! <3
Your job prior to the apocalypse was a caregiver to the elderly, so you had experience with a lot of medication and general practice of caring for someone. It's why Daryl had become so drawn to you, seeing you care for your people, or even people from Woodbury that had just been taken in, you gave everyone the same love and attention regardless of time spent with them. Daryl hadn't realised his longstanding affection for you until this flu outbreak within your prison community. You'd volunteered to help everyone alongside Herschel, caring more about the well-being of others more than your own. Until you'd gotten sick. "It was inevitable, honey," you spoke, not having the energy to even raise your voice above a whisper, "I'm glad I kept everyone in here hydrated, fed, and stable. But we're not seeing any progress." Daryl was on the other end of the window, eyes staring intensely into yours, wishing he could touch you, wishing he could hear your voice clear as day and not muffled due to being separated. Daryl sighed in defeat. "You don't deserve this." "Nobody does, but we need medication, Dar." You admitted. "It's the only way for people to get better, otherwise, we'll die in here." The thought of losing anyone else was enough of a push to find some medication, but the thought of losing you was enough to get him anywhere. He'd ride for days, hell, he'd walk for days if it meant you could get better. "I'm taking a group out, I'll get ya the meds. Just rest f'me, okay sweetheart?" Daryl was pleading now, you could hear the whine in his voice. You nodded, coughing into your hands as you hobbled away.
Days had passed. You couldn't get out of bed most mornings, even as Herschel did his rounds. Usually you'd join him, making sure everyone had water and food. But your bones ached, your head was pounding, you were sweating through your clothes. "Why don't the caregivers care for themselves, hm?" Herschel asked, entering your cell with a pitcher of water. You smiled painfully, reaching for your cup and holding it up for him. "Not used to it, I guess.." You wheezed, stabling yourself before another coughing fit. "How is everyone?" "Good as they can be, I guess." "Any word on the meds?" You asked, wanting to take the moment off yourself and onto a cure. Herschel shook his head. "Daryl keeps asking about you, though. It's rather sweet, really." "He is. Contrary to how he acts." You smiled, the thought of how he only acted around you. You'd caught him smiling a few times, even laughing at your terrible jokes. "I know a man in love when I see one."
Herschel had alerted you that Daryl was by the window again, asking for you. So you'd made the effort to hobble out of your cell and over to the window. And Daryl almost collapsed at the sight of you. Pale, hunched over in pain, sweat dripping from your skin. Your once glowing skin replaced with dullness, dark circles under your eyes. "Hey," you whispered, your hand on the glass, "how are you?" "How are you?" He asked, matching your hand with his and the both of you craved the feeling of the other's skin on yours. This was pure torture. "I can't do this anymore, Dar." You tried to take in a deep breathe, but you would wheeze as you did so. "It's getting harder. To talk, to walk, to move at all." Daryl's brows furrowed, trying to hold in every ounce of emotion threatening to spill out of him. "I know, sweetheart, I know." "They really need those meds in here, they're not getting any better." You confessed, there was no point trying to hide it now, you'd be walkers in a matter of days. "I'm gettin' em, I promise. Jus' been findin' fuel and supplies for our trip, we're leavin' today." Daryl mumbled, doubts and fears running rampant in his head. "Jus' came to say goodbye and I'll be back for ya." "I know you will, when I'm better I want a nice hug from you. It's the least bit of affection I deserve." You smiled, matching his as he shoved his middle finger up at you. But you knew what he meant. You could wait to tell him you loved him too.
Daryl had gone with Michonne, Bob, and Tyreece to a veterinary college for the medication, but Daryl couldn't think straight. He hadn't realised just how much you meant to him until you were isolated away from him. And he wasn't going to keep it to himself anymore. "We're in and we're out." Daryl instructed the team, leading them into the building. "Grab everything you can." He was so focused on finding the names of everything he needed, shoving it into his bag, he had his sights set on his objective and nobody else. Walkers had become the least of his worries. Even when the escapes had been overrun with walkers, he'd found a window which took them out to a roof. "We can walk over this roof, get us away from 'em." Daryl suggested, helping Michonne through the roof and carefully out of the building. The four steadily climbed out, aiming to walk along and find a quiet place to drop down, but Bob had lost balance and almost let go of his bag. Daryl turned, seeing the commotion and seeing Bob so desperately clinging to the back, completely ignoring any sense of fear from the walkers. "Just let it go!" Tyreece called out, but Bob was adamant on pulling the bag up. And Daryl had leaned forward to retrieve the bag from him. "What's so damn important in here, huh?" Daryl mumbled to himself, unzipping the backpack and pulling out a bottle. A bottle of what looked like whiskey. "All that for a drink?" Daryl reached his arm up to lunge it away, but Bob let out a yelp. "Please," he pleaded, "don't. It's just for when it get's quiet." Daryl was seething, why should he listen to his cries? He was on a selfish solo-mission. "Just give it to him." Michonne sighed, still wary of her footing as the walkers were clambering for their feet. "I can't believe this shit!" Daryl exclaimed, Bob's eyes fixed onto the alcohol sloshing around in Daryl's hands. "Should've left ya to die out there, we been so nice to ya. Y/N's been so nice to ya, and ya don't care one bit." "You take a sip of this before these meds get in our people," Daryl stepped to Bob, a menacing expression on his face as he shoved the bottle into his chest, "I will beat your ass into the ground."
It was a silent trip home, Daryl in the front seat with his head on the window. He couldn't stop thinking about you, about whether you were dead or alive. He was praying for the latter, and Daryl never prayed. In his life, he was so anti-God but when it came to you, he'd try anything. So seeing the familiar prison gates, Daryl almost leapt out the car whilst it was still rolling. He'd taken the bags of supplies straight to the quarantine zone, throwing it over to Herschel and sitting impatiently by the window. The window you'd always talk at, pressing your hands against it together, the one he hoped wouldn't have to separate you any longer. He had nothing to do except wait. He'd anxiously play with the ends of his hair, biting on his lip whilst he waited for any signs of progression. He sat, completely alone, just waiting for you. Completely unaware of the time passing around him. It wasn't until Maggie spotted him, and approached him slowly. "Everyone's taken the meds, they just need rest." She confirmed, and his heart lifted. "She's okay, but I think you need some rest too." "Thanks." Daryl spoke softly, a small smile on his lips as Maggie had exited the quarantine zone. He'd only waited a little while longer, until admitting defeat for the night.
The next morning, Daryl was up and spent the morning outside. Fixing the fence, stabbing some walkers in the skull, the usual daily tasks for him now. He'd accepted that you'd needed your rest, at least you were alive. But the weight still sat in his chest, even knowing you were on the mend, he wanted you. He needed you. Bob's selfish actions yesterday were now but a passing thought, he was solely centered on you. So he'd eaten some food, spoken to Carol, gone about his day as he usually would. Except you were missing. It had gotten to the evening, the sun setting behind the trees and it was a sight he wished to experience with you. "Hey handsome," he heard behind him, his head snapping to the direction of your voice, seeing you stood, weakly, against a wall. "Oh my God," he tried to speak, but it came out as more of a whimper. He'd abandoned his smoke, throwing it onto the ground before wrapping you into his body. Feeling your skin on his, your voice blessing his ears, it felt too good to be true. "Dar," you croaked, "too tight." You giggled when he'd released you, brushing his hands down your back, not wanting to take his hands from you.

Hey, could you write some Gaara angst. He and his fiancé fought over something and the argument was that bad where he said things that he shouldn’t have. His fiancé has to leave for a mission the next day,a dangerous one at that. Things go wrong on her mission and she’s now in the hospital and it’s hard to say if she’ll live or not. Gaara is in complete emotional distress and guilt because he feels that it’s his fault that his fiancé might not live.
Have a lovely day!
author's note: I saw "she" in the request, so I am rolling with a fem! reader. It's not a secret I love writing angst, so I really enjoyed writing this one. I hope you like it as well! <3 Thank you for requesting!
warnings: none, other than reader can be a little bit annoying in the first half lol
This is not how the evening was supposed to go.
As the last day before your two-week mission, you imagined it as a romantic day, filled with lots of laughter, kisses, and good homemade food, which you had spent all day making.
A screaming match in your fiancé's office was definitely not part of the plan.
"Lower your voice", Gaara sighed, his fingers making their way to rub soothing circles on the side of his forehead. You had stormed into the Kazekage's building about an hour ago, and while your demeanour was progressively getting worse and more aggressive, somehow he had still managed to remain collected.
"Excuse me?", you let out a scoff, marching towards his desk and slamming your hands on top of it, "Don't command me like that! Who do you think you are?"
The words triggered something inside of him and he abruptly stood up, slamming his hands right next to yours and getting right in your face. His eyes, usually calm and inviting, were now cold and dark, showing that there was a storm brewing inside of him.
"I am your fiancé, but most importantly your Kazekage", he gritted his teeth, emphasizing his title, " I know you are upset and I said I am sorry! But your shenanigans stop now!"
Tilting your head, you remained silent and narrowed your eyes, determined not to give up on the little staring contest you had going on. Pressing your lips together, you moved your jaw in annoyance, your breathing heavy with the pent-up frustration.
"Well, guess what, Kazekage?", your words came out almost mocking, while a small sarcastic smirk appeared on your face, "If you tired of dealing with my "shenanigans", maybe you should run and complain to your little friend from the Leaf. I am sure he would be more than happy to hear we are on the verge of breaking up because of him."
"Are you hearing yourself?", Gaara finally raised his voice, moving away from the desk, while running his hand through his red locks, "Break up because of Naruto? You are being absolutely ridiculous, Y/N!"
"I am being ridiculous? This is our last day before my mission and you decide to spend it with Naruto!", you screamed, shaking your hands in the air and making a few steps towards him, "One would've thought that you two are engaged, instead!”
A dry chuckle made its way past his lips and he shook his head, trying to calm his mind. Gods knew he loved you more than life itself but in moments like these he questioned how fate decided to bring you together, considering you were polar opposites.
Gaara was a calm, collected, and reserved individual. He was extremely hard-working and devoted to his nation, so naturally every decision he made was always centered around the well-being of others. He always carefully considered all his options before acting, and rarely resolved to action, if the problem could be resolved peacefully with talks.
You ,on the other hand, were hot-headed, impulsive, and stubborn. Always acting before thinking, you often fail to consider anyone else's needs and wishes in moments like this, too blinded by your selfish desire and feeling of injustice. Unlike the red-headed shinobi, who you described as your "better half", you faced problems head-on, even if that meant you would regret it later.
There has always been some tension between you two, even since you met during your Chunin Exams, but no one believed you would get together, especially after Gaara went through his life-changing phase when he realised the importance of friends and family.
Yet, years later, here you were - a Leaf shinobi who transferred to Suna and was engaged to the Kazekage. Somehow your clashing personalities worked in harmony and you managed to bring the best out of each other.
Well, most of the time...
Today, after he decided to spend the whole day with Naruto, Sakura, and Kakashi, thus resulting in him having to work through the evening, was not one of these times.
While the Leaf ninjas were your old comrades, it was not a secret that you did not share a close bond with them, especially with the blonde.
Naruto has openly vocalized his opinion that Gaara is too good for you and he can find a better, calmer half, who would compliment him as a future spouse of the Kazekage. He always made it clear that while he did not exactly hate you, he did not approve of you.
In response, you did not hide your thoughts about their friendship and the fact that your partner was giving him too much credit. Of course, Naruto did have some role in his decision to change for the better, but ultimately it was Gaara who did all the work. Additionally, the blonde was loud, assertive, and loved to poke his nose in other people's business, including your relationship.
"Y/N, enough!", your fiancé's voice boomed, his aura suddenly darker, "Do not talk about my friends like this!"
"Do you keep the same energy when he talks about me?", your brow raised, "When he says how I don't deserve you and tries to fill your head with the craziest ideas about us!"
Gaara let out a puff of air, before turning around and marching towards you. Stopping just a foot away, he lifted his hands towards you, laying them on your shoulder.
"I. Had. Enough!", he hissed each word through his teeth, a sign he was really pissed off at you now, "No one talks about you and no one is trying to fill my head with anything! I don't need anyone to tell me that we are incompatible when I can clearly see that myself!"
The insults and swears that were ready to fall from your mouth got stuck in your throat and your eyes widened for a few seconds, before narrowing again.
"What are you getting at?", this time your voice was quieter, but still with a note of challenge behind it.
Suddenly there was a spark of uncertainty behind his blue eyes. Slowly removing his hands from your body, he walked towards the window with his back facing you.
"I think we need a break. It's just... It's not working anymore", he murmured, gaze focused on the peaceful streets of Suna. He found it easier to say what he was thinking right now if he avoided looking at you.
A minute passed.
Gaara expected you to scream at him, swear at him, or even grab something from his desk and throw it at his head. But when he heard the door of his office opening and slamming shut, he jumped in surprise. Turning around, he found the spot where you were standing just a minute ago, empty, while your diamond ring shined lonely at the edge of his desk.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's strange how distorted a person's time perception becomes once they are eagerly waiting for something.
Two weeks, which usually flew by, given his busy schedule, now felt like an eternal nightmare for the young Kazekage. Eaten by the guilt of how your last conversation ended, he severely punished his mind and body by refusing to eat, drink, or socialize with anyone outside his work. He practically lived in his office and if it wasn't for Kankuro to send him to shower every morning, after working the whole night, he probably would had not set a foot outside.
This morning, however, he refused to do even that. You were supposed to come to report about your mission any moment now and he shifted nervously in his seat, mentally rehearsing the apology he wanted to say to you.
An hour passed.
Then two.
Gaara kept glancing towards the door, yet no one entered, except his secretary who kept dropping piles of paperwork on his desk. He tried to question if any ninjas have showed in the building today, but she kept shaking her head "no" with an apologetic smile on her lips.
Finally, just after noon, a small, barely audible knock reached his ear and he immediately straightened his posture and fixed his hair, before giving his response. His eyes gleamed with anticipation and he stood up, ready to greet you back home.
His, smile, however, quickly dropped once he saw that only one of your teammates, Bumi, entered his office. Covered in scratches across his face and hands, he looked like he had taken some rough beating not long ago. Gaara's blood froze.
If Bumi, the largest and the most skilled ninja in your squad, looked like this, what has happened to you?
"Lord Kazekage", the man greeted, before bowing his head. He made his way towards the desk and placed a tightly wrapped scroll on it, but his gaze remained cast downward.
"The report for our mission."
"Where is Y/N?", the red-headed ninja asked, not even glancing at the document given to him. He had a bad feeling about what was happening and Bumi's lack of eye contact and nervous twitching did not help to ease his worries.
Your teammate looked up, meeting Gaara's intense stare for just a second, before clearing his throat and focusing on his shoes again.
"She...", he stopped, nervously shifting his weight from one foot to another, "Um... she is not here at the moment."
"I can see that", the Kazekage pointed out, completely unamused, "Which is why I am asking - where is she?"
Bumi moved uncomfortably again, before letting out a sigh and taking a seat opposite his red-headed leader. His knee kept bouncing and he nervously shifted around his seat, before opening his mouth again:
"The Elders warned me not to tell you... yet."
Gaara's glare hardened and he crossed his fingers on top of his desk. Pressing his lips in a thin line, he took a deep breath, trying to calm the rising feeling of panic inside of him.
"You answer to me, not the Elders", he almost growled, his eyes not moving away from your teammate. His jaw tensed and that was enough of a sign for Bumi to spill out what was on his mind
"She is in the hospital", he blurted out and Gaara's breath hitched. His fingers started to tremble and he quickly placed them on his knees below his desk, a poor attempt to cover the shock that hit him when he heard the other male's words.
'Maybe it is just a check-up', he tried to reason in his head, 'maybe it is nothing too serious.'
Almost like he read his thoughts, Bumi decided to continue:
"It all happened so fast", he looked down, mentally reliving what happened just this morning, "We were on our way back when we were ambushed. Y/N... She has been acting weird the whole mission. She kept missing her shots and her reactions were slower than normal... I don't know what happened, but it was almost like she was not herself."
Cold sweat started forming on Gaara's temples and he felt his heart speeding inside his ribcage. He felt like he wanted to jump out of his seat and run to the hospital, but it was almost like his body was disconnected from his brain and it chose to stay frozen in place.
"So when this ninja swung his katana towards her stomach, it was too late for her to block it or move away...", Bumi gulped, his eyes now glossy, "The doctors said the cut was so deep, it damaged some of her insides too. And by the time we arrived, she also lost a ton of blood. They... They are not sure if she can make it."
Gaara always considered himself a man who knew what pain was. He has endured so much during his childhood, that he always thought nothing could hurt him anymore.
But the way his whole soul shattered the second he heard you may not make it, was a whole new type of pain. One that pointed its ugly finger to his face, screaming "It is all your fault!", while simultaneously creating feelings of rage and bloodthirst... feelings that stayed buried deep inside of him for years.
"Which village?", was all he said, his blue eyes now empty and staring at the blank wall at the opposite end of his office.
Bumi gulped, standing from his seat. The look on Gaara's face... He has not seen that look since their Chunin days. He was about to sneakily exit the office when the Kazekage's cold gaze fixated him on the spot.
"They had Leaf headbands...", he mumbled, before quickly adding, "But they could've gotten them from anywhere. I don't believe our allies-"
His words were interrupted by the Kazekage's hand which lifted in the air, cutting him mid-sentence. Getting up from his chair, he grabbed his hat, before walking past Bumi towards the door. Thousand different thoughts and ideas were racing through his brain about how he should deal with the situation, but they ultimately led to his need to see you straight away.
The last words he said to you kept echoing in his mind and he felt like throwing up. If he had shown up for your scheduled date night, if he had kept his tongue behind his teeth, if he had shown up at the gates the morning before you left... maybe you would be here, with him, instead of fighting for your life.
He knew he had to get to you, to be with you and somehow beg you to stay with him. But before that, he had one final request to make:
"Gather the Elders and the War Council", he instructed Bumi, while making his way past him, "Our alliance with the Leaf is over."

His True Self Part 2
Part 1 ~~ Part 3
Sabo X Fem Reader
Koala was over the moon when she found out that Sabo finally confessed to you, and she was laughing hysterically when she found out it was by mistake, claiming that his face must have been amazing. She was disappointed to learn of the fact three months after it happened. Regardless though, she was now helping you pick out an outfit for meeting someone important in Sabo’s life.
Koala had explained it to be like a parental figure which amused you. Most revolutionaries have found family, but very few had parental figures. Even you had been an orphan for a while and thinking towards how your boyfriend acts, you thought he had been one as well. Never bringing up someone who had taken care of him while growing up before.
Although you guess he has been here since he was a child, it’s no wonder how he rose the ranks ‘quickly’ when he’s been here for so long, and someone must have taken care of him. You mind wanders to who it could be and while all the top positions flashed through your mind you couldn’t see any of them taken on the burden of watching a kid.
“Tell me Koala, it’s not Iva right?” the only ‘reasonable’ suggestion you could even think of as they took long breaks to go back to Kamabakka Kingdom. Still, you couldn’t see the drag queen, who was open to all, opening their arms to a child to watch.
Koala burst out laughing, tears brimming her eyes, “No, although they did ‘babysit’ Sabo and I when no one wanted us to wander. If you want to call it that.”
~~~
“Are you ready Y/N?” Sabo leaned down to ask as he looped and arm around yours. He had met you at your room, deciding to lead you to where you were meeting his benefactor.
“I must be honest, I am a little nervous…” You chuckle out trying to ease your nerves, “How will I look to them? I never thought I’d be meeting anyone’s equivalent to a parent.” The thought had ran through your mind when you were younger, meeting your lovers family and getting along with them. But as time had progressed you had given up on meeting someone, much less being welcomed into such a homey environment.
The revolutionary army was as close as you’d get to a family was what you thought after you joined, and then Sabo exceeded you expectations and now this. It was a little much for you to accept so quickly, “Please, They already like you. We’ve been dating for months now, it’s only proper that I introduce you two formally.” The excited look he gave you made your heart flutter a bit.
You approached the room, rather farther from most you had noticed. You had been walking for about five minutes before getting there and the smile of Sabo’s face was enough to calm your nerves as he knocked on the door before letting himself in, pulling you with him.
You tense up a bit as you enter, expecting to see someone you maybe haven’t met yet, but what you weren’t expecting was the Commander Dragon himself. He was sat at a table, towards the door with his hands crossed in front of him. “Dragon! I’d like you to meet my girlfriend, Y/N. Y/N, please meet Dragon!” Sabo between the two of you as you made eye contact with Dragon.
Both of you blinked a bit, it seems as though both of you had not been expecting this. Dragon lets a small sigh out first before shooting a glance at Sabo, “I thought you meant someone I didn’t know.” His shoulders relaxed a bit before looking back towards you, “It seems he got you wrapped around his finger as well Y/N.” The slight laugh coming from him surprised you as heard Sabo joining in on the chuckling.
“Hmm? What? Wait. What?” You mind was still reeling a bit as Sabo led you to a chair with the biggest shit-eating grin on his face. Out of everyone you could have expected to meet it certainly wasn’t him.
After an awkward beginning and light conversation, you and Dragon had finally started joking about Sabo here and there to ease up to mood. It’s when Sabo gets up to grab something that Dragon looks at you, “Well, how about we talk about sending you out on a mission soon?” You gleefully fill the room with chatter as he talks about a couple of missions to retrieve something from near by islands, none would take longer than a week or so.
You smiled brightly while talking about what your mission could be when Sabo walks back in, seemingly un aware of what was happening. Placing a bottle of wine of the table as he goes behind you, both his hands on your shoulders, “What are you two talking about?” He leans down to give your cheek a kiss, unbeknownst to you he was also shooting a glare towards Dragon.
“We were just going over the details of my first mission coming up,” You smile up at him, turning your head to receive a kiss on the lip. You feel his grasp on your shoulders tighten and he pulls away from you with a worried look.
“What if you get hurt? You haven’t been attending training regularly in a while now, you may be more prone to injuries.” His logic and voice dripping with concern hit you hard. You have been so busy recently that you’d only be able to go out and train about once a week, and you have been leaving the office each night more tired than usual. “I’m just worried that you may not be prepared.” His hands slide down your arms before wrapping around you fully, squeezing. “I’m sure Dragon agrees. He doesn’t want you to push yourself too thin.”
You glance over at Dragon who seems to be staring at Sabo with an unreadable expression, his gaze softening slightly after making eye contact with you, “Of course, Y/N. You should be at your top performance before heading out on a mission.”
You bring a hand up to Sabo’s arm still wrapped around you, rubbing it slightly in disappointment. “How about you join me on my next mission next month if you wrack up the energy again?” Sabo’s suggestion rings through your ears before looking at Dragon to see his input.
The scornful look on his face is hidden quickly as he looks back to you, saying if you agree to it than there’s nothing he can do. “You won’t worry to much if I’m near you I guess,” You smile up at him accepting the compromise. It had been a sore subject over all through out the relationship, it’d be at least once a week that you’d bring up wanting to be out on the field, each time he’d convince you, that you weren’t ready quite yet, not strong enough, not having enough energy. You were more than happy to listen to his demand if it meant he was trusting you to finally go outside headquarters.
~~~
You were more than excited about the upcoming mission, but you still had to focus on the word at hand. Apparently a hot shot pirate was caught and is too be executed at Marine Headquarters and everybody was making a huge deal about it. You read about pirates from time to time, but unless they crossed into the revolutionary territory you didn’t pay them much mind.
This one on the other hand was causing quite a bit more commotion, the second commander of the White Beard Pirates and apparently the son of Gol. D Roger. No doubt it was going to shake the world, but that would be another persons problem. Your problem was that Ivankov had gotten captured and was now in Impel Down.
The impenetrable prison was not a joke and to try and get him out was a heavy task. Dragon had all but given up, asking you to look into anyway to get him out but not pushing you to overwork. Everything you looked into was a risky notion, you’d have to contact more people, plan accordingly and expect casualties. It wasn’t what you wanted, but Iva was a big part of the Revolutionaries, to lose them would be a hard blow to the organization.
That is until we got word that Iva had gotten free, with the help of a rookie pirate. Dragon started to watch what was happening more closely as you sat in the same room. Sabo was out with Koala and should be back by tomorrow, so for now you were with Dragon, sitting in silence as you watched a war unfold.
The marines had been prepared for resistance, hundreds of pirates gathering to stop an execution and now even Iva had flown in with plenty of other escapees. The blood drained from your face as updates came in, why would they decide to join in such a battle that had little likely hood of success. Dragon seemed anxious but you didn’t question it, plenty of people were about to die and it’s not something either of you would be thrilled about.
You job of planning a breakout for Iva long forgotten as the both of you watched on, mentally preparing for the worst. And that’s when it’s announced that the rookie pirate who had helped Iva escaped, wearing a characteristic Straw Hat, was Dragon’s son. You looked over at Dragon who still didn’t show any emotion but you could tell he was tense. You didn’t ask any questions; it wasn’t for you to know and you’re sure he was feeling more emotions that you could imagine.
You watch as many people try to save the pair of supposed brothers. And that’s when you see Ace jump in front of Luffy. It was a quick and you had to look away from the transponder snail. You had been rooting for them to escape, no matter how unlikely it was.
It wasn’t until after new of Luffy escaping that Dragon stood up, “Be prepared for tomorrow. It will be a long day.” He walked out of the room to leave you with the files spread about. You sighed knowing that this would shift the world in one way or another. The repercussions would change a lot and you’d most likely be the one to help brief everyone else accordingly.
~~~
Sabo had arrived late that night, you only know because you had still been organizing papers when you saw him coming in, he had given you a tired nod before doing a double take as to why you were still awake. “Don’t over work yourself.” His tired voice hitting your ears as he had walked up to see the papers spewed in front of you.
“A large execution and war happened. There will be a briefing tomorrow night, still organizing everything,” You kept your explanation short as to not make his brain overthink anything. He was probably just as tired as you were at this point.
He wraps his arms around you, his head going into your neck taking a deep breath in, “Finish the rest tomorrow. I’m sure today’s been exhausting.” You sigh, knowing he’s right. Most of it was done anyway it was just a matter of getting copies and put in an orderly manner before the meeting.
~~~
The next day you got up early enough to finish everything, dropping it all off for Dragon to look over. It was noon by the time you felt like you could breathe again. You walk outside to see the newspaper being delivered and buy the entire stock, knowing it’d have yesterday’s news of Ace in it and that everyone would want a look.
Dropping off even more papers, this time to the center table as others were slowly filtering into the room, grabbing the paper to see what it had to say as you sat down near Dragon to take meeting notes when it started in an hour or so.
People murmuring and looking around as they read the news, some even going up to Dragon if it’s true that he has a son, but what catches your eye is your boyfriend stopping mid step. The look on his face was the same one he’d get when he was trying to remember something from his past and you had a bad gut feeling as he turned to grab a paper himself.
Standing up as even Koala turned to ask what was wrong is Sabo as he continued to read of the war that had happened. He starts to shake and you can hear his breathing becoming unstable, only those closest to him seem to have noticed his break down as you make your way to him. Before you could see what was wrong, he let out a painful yell, falling to the floor before passing out. Dragon stood up as everyone rushed to see what happened.
You and Koala had decided to take turns staying by Sabo side. He had such a high fever and no one knew what was happening to him. He had been perfectly healthy before coming back and no one was prepared to see him stuck in a bed without a reason why. You heart sank every time you entered his room, wiping his forehead down every time sweat accumulated on him.
Much of the time he was stagnant and barely moved, but every now and then he’d toss and turn, trying to grip for something with both his hands as you’d call the medics to help him relax again. You’d learn quickly that it was better for him to be fully out over letting his body control him. Koala had been with him the first time, not only was he attacking at random, but he was also hurting himself. What had been a small coma quickly turned into a couple of fractured bones and stitches as he haphazardly attacked objects.
Three days had passed and you could handle it, Koala and Hack telling you to get some sleep as they took over watch of the passed-out chief of staff. You couldn’t sleep much but laying down was enough rest you’d need while overthinking of what could have happened.
It hadn’t even been 2 hours when someone burst into your room, informing you of Sabo waking up. You were delighted, a little disappointed in yourself for not being next to him as you quickly make your way to him.
You burst into the room, tears running down your face just as he was explaining he had gotten his memories back. You didn’t care, you tackle his bed, jumping between Hack and Koala who were there. You pounded on his chest as you heard Koala’s sniffles too and his arms wrap around you rubbing your back, “Don’t scare me like that idiot.” The harsh scold met with a small laughter at you stare up at Sabo’s refreshed face. Dragon also entering the room as Koala laughs at your normally stern and strong demeanor is broken, her own sobs quieting down.
After a couple minutes of everyone calming down Sabo lets everyone know that Ace and Luffy are his brothers. You glance at Dragon, wondering if he knew considering he had picked Sabo up from the island they grew up on, his cold face showing a little bit of shock before going back to being unreadable.
“The important thing now is that I can protect those I love now.” Sabo’s voice strong as ever as he grips your hand tighter, “I’ll make sure I never lose anyone needlessly again.” His face downturned slightly, you assumed it was for mourning of Ace.
You can’t imagine how it must feel to remember your family only to realize you lost one of them, another one of them god knows where after being in critical condition. Although you do let Sabo know that Luffy seemed to have made it out alive, quickly retrieving the paper that showed his solemn look of him breaking back into Marineford for a photo op.
Sabo clenches the paper, his jaw becoming tight as he stares at the photo, “That idiot never changes.” He breathes a sigh and you can see a slight smile play onto Dragon’s face at the comment.
Over the course of a couple days, you could see Sabo battling himself. Making small comments here and there, and being clingier than before. You couldn’t blame him though, if anything you’re shocked, he wasn’t mourning more. Still, you stayed by his side, listening to his words and his happy stories of his childhood. Holding him close when he’d get silent and tears started brimming his eyes.
Some nights he wouldn’t let you go until morning, and you didn’t dare leave him. Seeing him in such a vulnerable state broke your heart, and if he needed you there, you weren’t going to deny him that small comfort.

kit9 progress report #9
happy september!!! progress report time!!
to start, we’re given these images:
ashley doesn’t look her best here :( she’s pissed off. there are bags under her eyes. she has a bruise on her face (or blood?). this is not a girl who is having a good time
then we have… this? we’re back to the woods!! i wonder who Square Head and Cone Head are?? i wonder what ashley SAID!!! and what’s with the colorful flowers at the bottom??
(not to mention, they could totally sacrifice these people, and pretty easily too!)
next, we finally have some development progress reporting from kit9!! apparently episode 3A is super long & they’re trying to find a place to end the episode and start another one (4), but they haven’t been able to. they’re adding another several months to their estimated release date, which was previously “sometime in 2024” and is now “sometime in 2025… maybe”
they say, once again, that episode 3 (A and B) will be bigger and longer than episodes 1 and 2 combined, so episode releases won’t be as quick as they had been previously
finally, we have an episode three preview clip!!! it’s titled “voicemails” and the thumbnail is julia on the phone
a summary of the video for those who don’t want to watch, or can’t:
julia and andrew are in julia’s room. she tells him to listen to the voicemails she’s been getting on a daily basis. he declines, saying he’s “had [his] fill,” but julia insists
julia thinks that they’re from ashley, but she doesn’t know for sure because the voice is distorted. the voicemails contain graphic descriptions of julia’s “oncoming, painful and slow death” and then talk about how andrew would rather have sex with ashley than with julia. julia is disappointed in andrew’s lack of reaction to the upsetting content of the voicemails, and implies that he was previously upset about julia receiving these messages, but now he doesn’t care
she brings up the fact that she thinks ashley is sending these messages to her, pointing out that only ashley would use the word “floozy,” and andrew (probably lying) denies thinking that ashley has sent these.
julia disagrees, asking if he really thinks that some girl from college is pretending to be his sister and claiming that they’re a little too close, just to get julia to break up with him? he counters with “it’s working, isn’t it?” julia again disagrees, saying that she really does think that ashley is sending these messages. andrew then mentions that people teased him and ashley in high school for “keeping it in the family.” julia says that his relationship with ashley can seem incestuous, to which andrew reacts by slamming the phone back on the receiver, and getting really pissed at julia
julia gets scared of him, which makes him backtrack very quickly and clairify that he’s upset that julia would “think so lowly” of him. he says that he thinks she’s a wonderful person, while she thinks that he’s a “piece of shit” who “probably fucks his sister.”
julia then starts crying, denies thinking that he and ashley are having sex, and apologizes for starting a fight. andrew hugs her and says it’s fine, it wasn’t a fight, but he’ll “forgive her” either way
finally, andrew decides that they should “stay in after all” and it ends with julia saying she forgets what she even wanted to talk to andrew about
it’s fun to see andrew’s more… “genuine” side, even if he’s kind of an asshole. i guess “authentic” is a better term there. i think there’s an interesting contrast between how he acts with julia versus how he acts with ashley, and i’m so glad that we get to see more of him and julia!!! his lack of reaction to the threats against julia is so, so telling. it makes me think back to the part of episode 2 where andrew can bring ashley into the cult party and the cultist calls ashley a bitch and he immediately gets in the cultist’s face to defend her. there are some similarities between how he acts when he has upset each girl, but he doesn’t excessively compliment ashley when they fight. he doesn’t have to worry about ashley crying when he’s rough with her. he doesn’t have to worry about ashley breaking up with him because they’re not dating and she’s his sister
(chosen family is just as valid as blood family, but with andrew and ashley, their codependency shines)
i love how manipulative andrew is. don’t get me wrong, i’d absolutely hate him irl, but i love him as a character. he’s an asshole. he’s charming. he knows what to say to get people (like julia) to feel guilty of accusing him of something he’s thought about on more than one occasion. he knows that if he acts mad towards julia, that she’ll start fawning and apologizing, and he uses that to his advantage. he is not normal (affectionate)
and i’m glad we get solid “proof” that andrew is just as bad as ashley. before, people have argued that there’s plausible deniability, but now?? omgggg. especially when he’s hugging her, saying to julia the things he wishes he could say to ashley instead… they make me crazy. absolutely insane. i am so fucking excited for episodes 3 and 4

When you really think about it, Chloe is just a version of Azula written by people who failed to understand what made Azula work as a character.
They are both malicious 14 year old girls that have a final swan song where they fight the heros for the last time and have a breakdown when they lose. They both have neglectful mothers (but like at complete opposites of the neglect spectrum) that they crave love from, and they both have "loving" fathers that shaped them into the horrible people that they are today.
However, the writers of ATLA understood that Azula is the way she is because of her circumstances; if her father wasn't abusive fire Hitler that encouraged the worst parts of Azula's personality, and if Ursa was able to have a better relationship with her daughter, then Azula would not have turned out the way she did.
Meanwhile, the writers of ML honestly think that Chloe is a bad person only because of her choices, despite writing the exact opposite. Chloe got her ideals of Rich superiority from her Father who raised her alone for most of her life, who is also shown to constantly abusing his political power in the early seasons, but the show dosen't point out that obvious connection beyond "he dosen't punish Chloe enough because he loves her too much UwU". Chloe's mother straight up dosen't care about Chloe and acts like a meaner version of her, but Chloe is the one the Narrative treats as the big threat that needs to be stopped? Andre gets rewarded with a new daughter despite being the reason why the old one turned out so bad??
Azula and Chloe are both cogs in the evil machine that realize they are unloved at the end of their stories, but while ATLA puts the blame on the machine, ML puts the blame on the cog and it's really weird because they laid the ground work for the evil machine!
Also, Zoe is like a dollar store version of Zuko I guess.
Here's another thing that made Azula work: Her progression as a villain felt more natural.
During Season 3 of Avatar: The Last Airbender, the show acknowledged how screwed up she was mentally. After losing Zuko, Mai, and Ty Lee and being made Fire Lord only for her father to crown himself Phoenix King, Azula's sanity gradually degraded, and it was played seriously. It was clear that as evil as she was, she has a lot of issues that make it hard to just write her off as beyond saving.
With Chloe, after the betrayal, the writers ramped up her evil moments while acting like she's always been this cruel. While you could argue these have been traits she's had since Season 1, there's no natural progression to her getting worse after she betrayed Ladybug.

Hi! I was wondering if you could write something about reader who used to self harm and is slowly starting to do it again and Frank finding out.
SCAR-CROSSED LOVERS ➵ F. CASTLE
Summary: You relapse and when Frank finds out, he tries his best to comfort you.
Warnings: SELF-HARM, hurt/comfort
Word count: 1.3k
Author’s note: Anon, I sympathize with you <3 I had to restart my count 13 times this year so safe to say it hasn’t been an easy one. But I got this and so do you, I promise. I believe in you!! And guess what, so does Frank :) Thank you for sharing with me.
You had made it through 37 days. You had had yourself convinced that this time it was for real — this time, you wouldn’t have to start counting all over again and this time, you could make yourself proud. More importantly, you could make Frank proud. He was such a big part of why you had been able to stop, one of the main reasons why you had stayed so strong, and there were no words to describe the rush you felt when he smiled at you, kissed the top of your head and told you how amazed he was. How could you do anything to change that?
And yet, on the 38th day, you caved. It was so stupid, it wasn’t like anything even happened but you woke up with a dark cloud over you and it wouldn’t budge. Frank was out of town all week and you were left alone with your thoughts, the kind that spiraled and got out of hand with every passing moment. You felt hopeless and out of options and in a moment of weakness, you gave in to the urges.
You cried instantly. You had wrecked all your progress, lost Frank’s admiration for you, all for momentary relief that soon turned into shame and regret. And that, in a vicious cycle, got you addicted all over again. You felt like you deserved it now, like you needed to punish yourself, and that was why you did it again the next day. And the day after that. And again the next day. Sooner rather than later, the wounds that faded into light scars were back and you looked just as damaged as you felt.
When Frank finally came home from his trip, you were able to control yourself. You didn’t want to be caught in the act, and you didn’t want to be exposed, in the immense fear that he’d be entirely too disappointed or bluntly decide you were far too much trouble than he had signed up for.
”I missed ya, sweetheart”, he murmured into your neck, his arms tight around your shorter figure, and all you could think about was him turning on his heel and leaving you for good if only he knew.
”I missed you”, you whispered, but your voice was much too hollow for Frank to take the words and accept them as they were. He always knew when something was wrong. He just didn’t know what — but he’d get to the bottom of it. And that was exactly what you feared.
When he was all unpacked and you had eaten dinner together — although you had barely had an appetite — you were cuddled up on the couch, the TV on in front of you but neither of you really paying attention. He was wondering how to pick your secrets out of you, questioning if you were upset at him for being away so long, and while he was thinking his head through, you were frozen in the fear of being caught.
”Baby, I can hear you thinkin’. What is it, huh? You mad at me?” Frank was the first to speak up, and flinching at the gravelly sound of his voice, you shifted against his chest and looked up at him with wide eyes.
”What makes you think that?” you squeaked, and with a wry chuckle, Frank tilted his head at you and brushed his thumb across your chin.
”I dunno, figured that maybe you were gettin’ sick of me always being gone. I don’t like it either, y’know”, he murmured before leaning down to kiss your shoulder.
Sighing, you cast a look down at your shaky hands. Now you had made him feel bad. God, the guilt was unbearable. ”No, I’m not mad. I understand why you had to be away”, you spoke quietly, and betraying your facade, a tear rolled down your cheek and Frank reacted quickly, wiping it away with his fingertip.
”Then what is it? Ya can’t tell me everything’s fine. I ain’t stupid. What I am is worried, sweetheart”, he continued, rough voice full of affection and concern as he eyed you up and down.
You knew you were past the point of no return. There was no getting out of this. You couldn’t lie to him, either.
As if on cue, your phone screen lit up, and you glanced at the notification that mocked you. Your first day sober! The app you had downloaded when you had quit the first time reminded you now, and unable to speak the words out loud, you lifted up the phone and showed Frank. You could see the moment it registered in his head, his eyes darkening and his face dropping, and in an instant, you were crying and pulling away from him.
”I couldn’t stay strong. I tried, I swear, but it was too much. I’m so sorry. I didn’t want to disappoint you”, you tried to explain, your trembling hands coming to cover your face as you inched to the other end of the couch, but as soon as you were off of him, Frank was trying to close the distance back up.
”Hey, hey, stop that. You haven’t disappointed me, sweetheart, what do you mean? C’mere”, he insisted, shushing you gently while widening his arms for you. You hesitated, not really feeling like you had earned it, but the selfish part of you that wanted to feel his comfort won, and you curled up into his chest while trying to level your breathing.
”You always cheered me on. You always made me feel so strong and so good about myself. And it still wasn’t enough”, you whispered shakily, sniffling while closing your eyes and breathing Frank in, as if worried he was going to slip away from you at any given moment.
”I’m sad, of course, I am. ’Cause I never want you to be hurtin’. But I never thought I’d be able to magically fix anythin’. It’s a battle and some days are tougher than others. All you can do is try again the next day. It doesn’t make you any less worthy or amazing if you stumble along the way”, Frank assured you, his arms holding you in place as he rested his head against yours.
”Like I told you last time, and the time before that, I ain’t goin’ anywhere. I’mma help you in any way you need me to”, he added, and with a quiet mix of a sob and a laugh, you nodded.
”How do I deserve you?” you wondered out loud, and with a chuckle, Frank kissed the top of your head.
”You never judge me for my scars, and I ain’t ever gonna judge you for yours. I promise you that, sweetheart”, he shrugged, as it if was the most casual thing. He then rolled up his sleeve and pointed at a new wound on his forearm. ”That one’s gonna leave a mark, for sure. Some asshole nicked me a few days ago. Not too bad, but it’ll be my millionth scar”, he explained before pulling down his collar and gesturing at an older scar at his collarbone. ”Got that one when I was still in the Marines. Hated it for a long time but now it’s a part of me, I guess.”
Nodding in understanding, you withdrew just enough so you could roll up your own sleeve and point at the scars there. ”That one was when I had a fight with my best friend and I was sure I was losing her forever. That one… shitty grade from a really important exam. That one is from when I couldn’t fit into my favorite dress anymore. I guess a lot of things get me down and I always go for the blade to cope”, you explained, and now, it was Frank’s turn to nod.
”I’preciate you sharin’ with me. I know it ain’t easy. But I’m always willin’ to listen, aight?” Frank insisted, gently taking your arm to pepper your wounded skin with the softest kisses.
”I love you”, you whispered sincerely, overwhelmed by your adoration for him, and cracking a smile, Frank leaned in to kiss your lips.
”I love you. Scars and all.”

Prologue
You had been meeting with Dr. Crane for a few weeks now. You were mostly just talking, sometimes he’d have you try something to start to get you more comfortable living normally. But the progress was slow overall.
“There is another form of treatment we could try.” He suggested, setting his pen down on the notebook and giving you his full attention.
“If you think it’ll help.” You shrugged.
“Do you know what exposure therapy is?”
“Um… yeah. But isn’t that for phobias of bugs or heights?”
“Usually, yes. But those aren’t the only types of fear this technique can help with.”
“Oh… I’m not sure I understand, Dr. Crane.”
“Do you trust me?”
“Of course.” You nodded.
“In our first session you told me it feels like you’re living everyday waiting to become part of the statistic.”
“Yeah?”
“If you’re already part of the statistic, do you think you’ll still feel that way?”
“Um… I guess not? I don’t understand what you’re getting at.” He set his notebook and pen down on the coffee table, then stood up, making his way to the empty side of the couch as you stared at him in confusion.
“You’re lucky you came to me, you know. Most doctors don’t care enough to try everything possible to help their patients.” You gave a small smile in response, not able to talk before he continued. “In order for this to work you need to trust me completely, can you do that?”
“Yes, but I’m still not sure what it is you’re doing.” He stared at you for a moment before letting out a quiet sigh and taking off his glasses. He set them on the table, then met your gaze again.
“Studies show that patients who relive traumatic experiences in controlled environments can actually better overcome that trauma. Now in your case it’s slightly different because your fears were not born out of trauma, but I still think it can help.” He paused as he debated what to say next.
“With the kinks you’ve indulged in already, the environment might have been a little too controlled.” You furrowed your brows, trying to understand. “Putting you in a situation that is controlled, just not by you, should be effective.” He said, placing a hand on your thigh.
“Dr. Crane, what-“ He shushed you, slowly rubbing his hand up and down your thigh, each time getting closer to your skirt.
“You know, I thought about doing this at your house- maybe wear a mask so you didn’t know it was me. But that wouldn’t be controlled enough. So I knew it had to be here.” He said quietly, an unnerving smile on his lips. “With someone you trust.” When he slowly started leaning forward, you moved back until you were laying on the couch with him hovering above you.
“There’s nothing to be frightened of- I’m no heathen. This isn’t about committing a violent act against a defenseless woman, it’s about helping you work through your fears. I have every intention of making sure you can take me comfortably.” He maneuvered himself between your legs, your skirt rising as they parted. Your eyes widened at his words, finally understanding.
“I don’t- I don’t think I want to try this treatment.” You whimpered, shrinking back into the couch.
“You don’t know what you want. That’s why you’re here. If you knew how to help yourself, you wouldn’t have come to me.” He pawed at your clothes, pushing your cropped sweater up, then pulling your bra down beneath your breasts.
“If you behave, I can make this more comfortable for you. But if not, I’ll have to just get right to it, do you understand?” Your bottom lip quivered as you stared at him with wide, frightened, unable to move or speak. “Answer me.” He growled, making you flinch at the harsh tone.
“Y-yes.”
“Good.” He said simply, leaning down to take your nipple in his mouth. You laid there frozen, trembling beneath him, but despite your fear, you couldn’t deny the fact that what he was doing felt good. Maybe if this was someone else, someone you weren’t attracted to, then it’d be easier for your body to understand that this scenario was supposed to be bad. When his teeth lightly nipped at the sensitive bud, your breath hitched, making him pull back with a smirk.
“That’s it, see? Just let it happen and it’ll feel good.” He moved on to your other nipple, working it over in his mouth until he was satisfied. He pulled back with a wet pop and looked up at you through his lashes.
He moved down your body, but because of the small couch, decided to kneel on the floor. When he pulled you forward so your hips were on the edge, the movement caused your skirt to get stuck between the cushion and your ass, raising it even more, making your cheeks heat up. Your blush intensified as he pushed the fabric up until it rested around your waist.
“Shorts.” He said quietly to himself, placing his hands on your hips and tracing his thumbs over the fabric. “Do you wear this because you think this will help?” He asked, looking back at your face. You nodded silently, making his lips turn up in a small smirk. “Because of your obsession with statistics, you should know that clothing choices do not deter rapists.” He said, raising his brows questioningly.
“I know… it just makes me feel better.”
“So desperate for some semblance of control over your fears.” He chuckled quietly, making you frown in response. When he started pulling your shorts down, you grabbed his wrists. The look he gave you made you tremble even more, but you quickly relaxed your grip, letting him continue.
“Do something like that again and I'll skip this part, do you understand?”
“Please,” You whispered, holding back tears as he removed your shorts. “Please don’t do this.” You said through a sob when he reached for your underwear. He ignored you, pulling the fabric off your body and discarding it to the growing pile on the floor. You jolted when he suddenly swiped two fingers through your folds.
“See, you beg me not to, but you’re soaked. Is that why you’re so afraid? Because you know you’ll like it?” You clenched your eyes with a quiet sob and shook your head. When wet heat engulfed your clit, you choked on a gasp. He started out slow, licking and sucking delicately. You tried to control your hips and not let them buck toward the pleasure, but trying to do that as well as control your sounds proved to be a difficult feat.
It felt good. Honestly you’re not sure you’ve ever been eaten out this good in your life. He was almost as passionate about it as he was with his work. When he plunged two fingers into your drooling hole, you couldn’t help the low whine you let out. He looked up at you through his lashes, smirking against your sex.
Maybe if you just think of this as you finally getting to fuck the man who’s been plaguing your every thought for the past few weeks, then it won’t be as bad. After all, he did say he had no intention of making this painful for you. So it wouldn’t be too hard to think of this in a different light.
“You don’t seem scared anymore. Have you finally accepted it or is there another reason?” He asked, still curling his fingers against your walls.
“Maybe you’re dissociating to cope. Unfortunately if that’s the case… I am going to have to get you out of that state so you can experience the full extent of this treatment.” You stared at him almost blankly, trying desperately to not focus on his words.
“If this behavior persists in future sessions though, I might have to put you on antipsychotics.” That got your attention.
“Future sessions?” You all but scoffed, quickly closing your mouth after speaking to keep the sounds in.
“Yes, I’ll need to monitor you closely after this treatment. I think three meetings a week should be sufficient.” You swallowed down a whimper when his thumb started circling your clit, then forced yourself to respond.
“You seriously think I’m coming back here?” He swiftly removed his fingers, making you release a choked sound.
“If that’s the case, I’m afraid I’ll have to admit you.” He said, casually wiping your arousal off his fingers on your skirt.
“Admit me?”
“To Arkham Asylum.” He said simply.
“What the fuck is that?”
“Honestly, did you do any research before moving here?”
“N-no. I couldn’t afford to live anywhere else…” You muttered. He hummed in acknowledgement and stood up.
“Arkham Asylum is a psychiatric hospital in Gotham City, primarily housing the criminally insane. I am the acting chief psychiatrist there.” He shrugged off his jacket, placing it over the coffee table.
“I’m not criminally insane.” You said skeptically, rising to a sitting position just in case you’ll have an opportunity to run.
“No? That’s not what my diagnosis tells me.”
“What the hell are you talking about?” You spat, feeling your heart pound harder in your chest.
“Maybe you weren’t criminally insane when we first started our sessions. But yesterday you went through something traumatic that triggered a psychotic break, causing you to try to harm me during our meeting today.” You stared at him in shock, too caught off guard to say anything. “Which is why I’ve deemed you a threat to yourself and others and recommend immediate hospitalization for psychiatric evaluation.”
“You’re fucking insane.” You whispered, not sure what else to say.
“I’m simply a doctor who’s dedicated to studying the effects of fear on the human mind. And I have to say, I am very excited to study yours.”
“So- what, you’re just going to have me committed? As soon as I have the evaluation I’m going to tell them everything.” He let out a dark chuckle and gave you a knowing look.
“Truly brilliant plan. I’m looking forward to seeing how it works out when I evaluate you.” Any and all confidence or leverage you might’ve had was gone in an instant.
“Then… I- I’ll say I want someone else.” You said quietly.
“Were you not listening when I said I’m the chief psychiatrist there? I'm the one who decides who evaluates you.”
“But- that’s a conflict of interest.” He smirked as you floundered for a suitable threat.
“That’s the beauty of Gotham. Everyone and everything here is corrupt. No one cares if there’s a conflict of interest.” You let out a shaky breath, feeling trapped and out of options. “But don’t worry, I won’t start my research until you’re officially a patient. Today is just about your treatment.”
He was on you before you could even blink, pinning you down by your neck with one hand, the other opening his pants just enough to take his cock out. As you clawed at his arm and his face, you realized the consequences of anxiously picking at your nails- they did nothing to harm him.
“No-“ You cried, trying to push him away when the blunt head of his cock bushed your slit. “Stop- Help!” You yelled, making him tighten his grip on your neck and push down on your windpipe.
“No one can hear you so shut up.” He hissed, pushing his hips forward. Your body tensed at the pressure against your hole. When his length finally pushed in, you tried to let out a pained scream, but the only noise you could make was a pathetic squeak. He let out a low groan, closing his eyes with furrowed brows and opening his mouth in a silent moan.
“Fuck, that’s good.” He said through a moan. He continued pushing in until his hips were flush with your body. The pressure on your cervix was almost unbearable and you silently begged him to not stay here long. “You’re so wet. Why is that?” His voice was strained as he tried to control his arousal. His grip loosened on your neck and you took in a huge breath, then started coughing.
“Fuck you.” You rasped, throat a little sore.
“I always love the mouthy ones. Makes it all the more satisfying when they break.” He sneered. You sighed in relief as the pressure on your cervix decreased while he slowly pulled out. But as he slammed back in, you weren’t sure what hurt more: the pressure on your cervix or the burning stretch of your walls. His pace picked up quickly until he was pounding your abused hole relentlessly, even with your cries and pleads for him to stop. He shushed you, gently brushing your hair behind your ear, making you flinch away from his touch.
“Calm down. It’ll feel good once you relax.” He said, almost annoyed. You cried silently, arms laying limp by your sides after trying unsuccessfully to push him away for several minutes. You just wanted to get it over with.
“Fuck- this pussy feels good. When you’re locked away, I’m going to make sure we have daily sessions to continue your treatment.” You let out a choked sob and shook your head.
“No,” You cried, tears streaming down your cheeks, making him buck his hips even faster. “No- please.” You whimpered.
“Yeah. It’s not effective as a one time thing. This kind of treatment needs to be done regularly, in fact, we might have to have more than one session a day.” You sobbed silently, trying to just dissociate again or something- anything. But the brutal pounding of his cock made it hard to focus on anything else.
“I forgot to tell you- this treatment isn’t only for your fear of being raped.” You stared at him blankly as you processed his words, eyes widening once you understood.
“No-“ You said, much more assertive this time. But he was not deterred.
“Yes.” He growled, rutting into you animalistically as he chased his pleasure. “I’m gonna come in this tight little cunt and you’re going to take every drop.”
“No!” Your arms were active again, desperately working to push him away.
“If you behave and be a good little inmate, then maybe I’ll let you keep taking birth control.”
“Please,” You choked out, “Please don’t do this, Dr. Crane.” You cried, feeling the knot of arousal in your stomach, despite your words.
“As hot as the begging is, if you keep running that little fuck hole, I will take away your contraceptive privileges.” You had no reason to not believe him, so you obeyed, only letting out violent sobs. “That’s better. Good girl.” He groaned, putting a hand back on your neck. His hips snapped into you ruthlessly, your hole aching out of discomfort and desperation and your breasts moving embarrassingly with each thrust, adding to your shame. When he reached a hand down to your clit, you muttered out a quiet, “No,” and shook your head.
“I know you’re about to come. Just give in.” His fingers rubbed fast circles over it, making your hips twitch from the friction. And he was right. You were about to come, especially now that he was stimulating your clit. You tried to hold it, to not let yourself give him an obvious display of your unwanted pleasure, but it was useless. You came with a cry, this one more like a moan than a sob. His hips stuttered as your walls convulsed around him, but he never stopped thrusting.
After you finished, he removed his fingers and focused on his own orgasm, not needing much more before burying himself inside you, uncomfortably deep. Your sobbing intensified as you felt hot come coating your walls.
“Fuck- that’s it. Take it- take my come. Right in your fucking womb.” He growled, reaching a hand down to press on your lower stomach. “Can you feel how deep I am? Can you feel me right up against your cervix? You’re gonna have no choice but to get pregnant. Maybe not today… But I am going to knock you up eventually.” You let out a broken cry, laying completely still beneath him.
After coming down from his orgasm, he slowly dragged his cock out of you, then forced your legs open to watch his come leak out of your abused hole. He pushed it back in with a small smirk.
“We don’t want to waste any.” He explained. When he was satisfied, he rose from the couch, tucking himself back in his pants, then walked over to his desk. You watched through hazy eyes, blurry with unshed tears, as he searched for something.
I should try to run now, you thought. He’s distracted, I can probably do it. But your body could barely obey. With much effort, you rose to a seated position, trying to ready your wobbly legs to hold you up. Before you could though, he was already walking back to you, one hand pushing you back on the couch, the other behind his back. He clumsily righted your clothes as you laid there, defeated. When he brought his other hand up from behind his back, you stiffened at the sight of a syringe.
“What is that?” You muttered, trying to push yourself away from him, further into the couch.
“A sedative. Someone is going to pick you up and take you to a holding room. I should be there to evaluate you by the time you wake up.” You shook your head as your heart started pounding in your chest again.
“No- no, please. Please, I don't want to go.” You whimpered, flinching back when he grabbed your cheeks and turned your head to the side. Before you could react, the needle was already puncturing your skin. “Please don’t. I don’t wanna go.” You slurred, eyes growing heavy, and he shushed you gently.
“I’ll see you soon.”

Nocturnal Kinds - An Interactive BG3 Fic
Pairing: Halsin x Reader (gender neutral)
Rating: Teen and Up Audience
Status: Ongoing/Work in progress
Introduction: What if you can start Halsin’s romance from Act 1 with the choice to join his company after the tiefling party? This is a choose-your-adventure fanfic that should allow you to interact with our favorite bear-man as your Tav/Durge or other origin characters.
Author's Note:
I wrote this fic as a birthday gift for my friend, @mcfallen-god. Despite conceivable limitations (especially when it’s still a WIP), I’ve been trying to include as many unique options as possible. Some of the choices may require you to roll a dice and pass certain check, you can follow through with it to increase immersion, if you want. Feel free to "replay" this fic multiple times and explore all the routes 😉 Enjoy~
Since the tiefling left for their tent one after another, all happily intoxicated with their questionable liquor cauldron, your camp has sunken back to the serenity of the night at last. You noticed some of your companions have quietly seeked their bedroll, exhausted by all the fighting at the goblin camp or by their upset stomach full of booze. Meanwhile, some others must have sneaked out early with a chosen partner, celebrating the festive mood in private.
As for you - you’re just glad that you can finally drop your shoulder and stretch your neck. Who could have guessed making the rounds and receiving praises could wear your down much quicker than craving a blood path out of the goblin hordes? Feeling a headache approaching on the horizon, you know you need a good rest. But not until you have some cool water splashed on your face for refreshment, now that you have time to catch a breath.
Walking towards the nearby lake, you didn’t expect to find him there. The druid Halsin, his larger frame hardly mistakable even at a distance, is curiously relishing his night in solitude. With the safety of the grove ensured, you had expected to see more of him at the party, taken his exhilarated acclamation at the moment of triumph. But instead, you have suspected a rather introverted nature tugged beneath the grove leader’s tangible charm and compelling conviction.
Now sitting with his back against a tree, the man seems to gaze absent-mindedly to the water surface. In the next breath, you see Halsin bringing to his mouth a delicate-looking pipe you didn’t notice before. The tail of its lights up merrily with tiny warm sparkles, and soon enough, small clouds of blue smoke escape his open lips. Dancing to the faint breezes from the moon, it sets a mysterious veil to the tranquil scenery. But you can only be his quiet observer for so long. As if awaken from a spell, the wood elf turns his head and smiles warmly in acknowledgement of your presence.
CHOICES: Pick one of these options.
1. “So you can’t hold your liquor, but have that guilty pleasure of your own. I knew I smelled something nice.” you teased cheekily, gesturing the pipe.
2. “Pardon, I thought you left with the others. I didn’t disturb your reverie, did I?” you smiled back awkwardly, ready to leave the man to his peace.
3. “Halsin.” you greeted him with a simple nod, before walking up to the lake. You will have your refreshment first.

rewrite while changing as little as possible
this is my crack at tweaking some things while mostly working within the bounds of canon, with only 6 episodes, keeping most of the scenes, setting, side characters the same… What would you have changed about my or the original plot’s plan?
Spoilers for all of season 4 under the cut
- first of all. squids. tentacles. body horror with the black goo thingy. fleshy goo monster. decaying the earth. eating the earth up. The antagonist of this season should be THE HORROR, the extra-dimensional creature inside of Ben Hargreeves. This will save money on reshooting cgi scenes plus make it specific to both sparrow and umbrella ben for a Ben-centric season, rather than anyone with Marigold + Jennifer destroys the world
- Maybe it’s made of Durango or something, the antithesis of the Marigold, but Ben’s power is to keep it sealed, and occasionally hold power over it. Maybe it is Durango. Whatever it is, it was made when Abigail made the Marigold, and it seeks to consume and make everyone like it. It exists across all the timelines and over the seasons has become smarter and smarter. Not even Reginald and Abigail can understand or control it—maybe it destroyed their original planet, and snuck into the Reginald marigold release thing and got into Ben somehow. To tie in Season 3, The Hotel Oblivion was maybe built to nerf it/hold it? (I heard this was true in the comics since the hotel was used to keep villians? This could be hearsay, haven’t confirmed.) When Hotel Oblivion got used with the reset button, the protections went too which is why the Horror has more influence and was able to alter the new timeline to have the Keepers and Jennifer to set up the conditions for the Cleanse aka its takeover of the world and all the timelines.
- Jennifer as an agent of the Horror, unknowing or innocent maybe. Or knowing—she already wasn’t normal in that tv squid moment and in the shipping container and as a girl being Truman Showed by everyone else around her. A culmination of everything it’s learned about human nature, a lure of sorts for Ben and the rest of the Academy who generally like to save people. An eldritch horror of a regular girl? That would be so cool, just a normal girl with a normal life until it all turns upside down with the introduction of Hargreeves and Marigold and all that stuff. The acting direction could be good to have her be just a little bit off…
- instead of just Five and Lila, EVERYBODY should get in that subway. The subway is so cool. The other timelines are so cool. No one would be mad at a montage if it’s a family bonding montage. It leaves imagination for the family to grow closer together over a short period of screen time. This could be a whole season in itself and would honestly be a wonderful callback to other seasons and possibilities for the final season.
- AT MINIMUM, I think just adding Diego to the getting-lost-in-the-subway-for-seven-years plot would be amazing. He wants to live larger than life, be cool and rugged, and gets monkey’s pawed. Yeah you’re child-free with your wife doing cool action macho survival things every day but guess what? Subway Rats. He and Lila could hit rock bottom, let out all their anger, and then progressively make up over that 7 year montage and resolve to appreciate their kids, the in-laws, and the life they’ve built together. Alternatively, they could decide that their relationship really doesn’t work out and split up. Either way, it’ll be a mutual decision.
- As for Five, he won’t be going through an apocalypse alone and that is interesting in itself. He could bond more with Diego, find himself losing hope and finding it again, suffer complete burnout but be supported, finally work through Apocalypse-Commission-Handler trauma with Diego and Lila. Face the same choice of going back to The Cleanse (of course Diego and Lila are going back for their kids) or staying in safe Strawberry Land away from everything or until everything ends, true retirement. In the end, I think he chooses family.
- For Lila, I think she’s pretty good and principled towards her family aside from THE THING in the scenes we see her in, I’d like to know more about her family, her relationship with her kids, and develop her relationships with the siblings more as well. We got some moments with Allison as fellow moms, but what about Luther, Ben, and Viktor? I think she needs more specificity on how jarring the switch from assassin life is to family life is. Maybe she can open up in that 7 year montage somehow.
- In at least one of the numerous moments that Klaus died and could have went to the void. A moment with Umbrella Ben is all I ask, acknowledging that Klaus is with Allison and Claire now but also seeing how Klaus has essentially locked himself in and is very afraid of the world. 😭 he’d be so proud of Klaus though. ):: i know he’d punch Quinn in the face so hard 🙏 I’ll leave the aus where he’s totally back for the other than very close to canon rewrites
- Because I actually liked the Five Restaurant scene, I think it would be really meaningful for all those Fives to see a complete whole family and band together to help our Five and our family. Bonus if some of the Fives get hugs and tears and breakdowns because of the horrible apocalypses their siblings and families had to go through.
- this is just an overall thing but I think to help their motivation to save Ben everyone should at least elaborate on their past relationship with him, get to know Sparrow Ben as somebody other than a snarky guy, or make an appeal to him at the end when they’re trying to negotiate, even if it is a mix of Umbrella Ben nostalgia… ok this is getting into wishful thinking territory but i think it would have helped LMAO
- Methinks. I actually liked Luther a lot this season, with the stripper job he seems passionate enough about (yeah my man! own that!) and the run down Hargreeves Boy Home he lives in. (he never left the house… 😭) I feel he should have been given more to do. Maybe bonded with Derek and the non-Keeper people in the CIA, i bet they wouldn’t turn down someone with his powers. Maybe followed Klaus along and absolutely tear the motorcycle bike gang to bits for their not safe or consensual sex work shenanigans in comparison to his job. Maybe bond with Diego’s kids since he and Sloane never got to have kids themselves, a parallel he sets up first episode. Actually help Lila with childcare since she seems to be struggling;;
- Viktor and Reginald were fun. You could also add Luther here and it’d be fun too since they’d both advocate for Ben—Luther in particular was the most inclined to accepting Sparrow Ben.
- actually, Luther and Abigail bonding (she’s very nice and he likes validation) and pulling off a double cross with the Gene skinsuit thing would be a good idea until she double crosses him again with helping along the Cleanse instead of trying to stop it. Betrayed by your dad and your mom YAY
- I realize I didn’t suggest stuff for Allison but I liked her this season with Klaus and Claire, all she needed was to get more one on one scenes with siblings or lila, and that pretty much goes for every sibling i just need them hanging out with other siblings ❤️ actually ideally Sparrow Ben I feel like she’d call him out on stuff and be the one to level with when it came to big mistakes, lashing out, being selfish—and afterwards trying to say sorry and be better moving forward. Maybe she rumors him to stop seeing Jennifer to give more plot room for the siblings while keeping the “I can’t stop thinking about you let’s MERGE” idea but he finds a loophole like the sneaky little weasel guy he is (i love him) or Allison let’s it go in order to let him help her when she’s in danger or something idk
- I also like the keepers, very fun seeing everyday people and places repurposed to just have a bunch of guns. Gene and Jean were great, and Sy, guy pretending to be Jennifer’s dad. Fake Jennifer? Amazing. Bud I loved, what a guy!
- The Cleanse. Sparrow Ben and Jennifer have morphed into Goop Monster. The horror has almost won. It is all powerful, it has taken over everything else. It is just the Hargreeves and them in the former wreckage of the mansion, filling with goop. It fills with goop up to their necks and gets into their brains. All it needs is their Marigold, but they have to give it willingly. Taunt all of them with visions of their birth parents, the normal lives they could’ve had but even better, Luther with Sloane and dog and kids, Diego with Lila and his kids, Allison with Claire and Ray and her hairstylist crew, Klaus with Dave, Five with Delores, Viktor with Sissy and Harlan.
- Instead, family chooses their siblings and also the world. They use their powers at the same time and hold hands with Viktor or something at the center because he deserves to save the world instead of end it, combining Marigold or something in a blast that whites out the screen and presumably saves the world.
- Same sequence of the alternate timelines being destroyed. Same park scenes with all the cameos from previous seasons and the post credit marigold sprouting, except Sparrow Ben and Jennifer are also walking in the park at the end because they are technically also victims of the Hargreeves and the original Marigold fiasco. Boom. They sacrificed themselves. 🙏 RIP the end
OPTIONAL SELF-INDULGENT ALIVE ENDING (because I want them to be happy)
- Umbrella Ben and the family in the void and they get a tearful reunion and group hug.
- Klaus and Little Girl on Bike have some banter before she’s like fine. An exception for you all. She holds out the marigolds since her whole thing is flowers in her bike basket. Klaus gets to save the family yaaay
- Replace the marigold cutscene with a scene of all of them joining the family reunion in the park with Lila’s family and the kids
- Open ending to if they find those perfect lives or not in the reconstructed timeline, (Sloane Sissy Dave Ray etc) but at least they are together 👍
Things That Should Be More Well Thought Out And Go Through Sensitivity Readers And Be Addressed But I Dont Feel Personally Qualified to Address:
- luther and allison after that scene in s3. also the murder stuff but mostly that. delicately executed apology instead of willfully ignoring it
- klaus after suffering very bad relapse and sex trafficking during his arc and also being buried alive🙏 thats a lot.. to handle
- I feel adding Diego to the 7-years-montage plot would make it so that he and others appreciated a healthy weight for him in comparison to going through malnourishment to at least divert the fatphobic jokes a bit?? idk or we could just cut those jokes in general there’s nothing wrong with having a dad bod
- probably other stuff but thats the big ones that stood out to me

Could I request Miguel O’Hara x Fem Scientist who has been rivals with him before he became Spiderman, and over the years has developed a crush on him
equation.
✧.* miguel o’hara x reader
cw: pining, miguel is oblivious to his feelings, rivalry.
word count: 0.9k
nsfw part two
likes, comments and reposts are deeply appreciated! <3 enjoy.
-`♡´-
you were the bane of miguel o’hara’s entire existence. every teasing remark and smirk of victory made him seethe with anger.
however, he had to give you some credit. nobody challenged him or motivated him as well as you did. of course, he was only motivated to do better than you.
still, the way you made him feel helpless and lose his composure with a single comment would never fail to make him even more determined to beat you in anything and everything.
you both worked in science and had hoped to improve the lives of others by using it. and whilst people would continuously praise miguel for all his accomplishments, he couldn’t deny how smart and impressive you were - and that bugged him constantly.
he was in a slump. the new project he’d been working on showed little progress, and when he saw your face walk into the room, a bounce in your step, he internally groaned. he knew he was in for about ten minutes of your bored pestering.
when you noticed him, you absentmindedly turned in the opposite direction you were supposed to be going in just so you’d have an excuse to walk by his desk and speak to him. a small habit you had developed over the time you've known him, along with some other irritating routines.
of course, he had never noticed. his mind was always clouded by a sort of one-sided rivalry between the two of you for him to notice the little crush that had developed within you. and he was certainly too blind to see his own reciprocation of those feelings.
"o'hara." you greeted as you reached his desk, tilting your head to look at him as he gave a slight reluctant grunt. "thats not the same project that you've been working on for a while now is it? and here i thought you were almost as smart as me. shame." you teased.
he raised an annoyed eyebrow at you as he ran his hand through his tousled hair. you noticed the bags under his eyes and tension in his shoulders, causing a confusing amount of concern inside of you.
"let me take a look." you said, as you pulled up a chair next to him. he stared at your lips when you spoke to him, yet he caught himself in the act and prayed you hadn't noticed. why did he do that?
"i'd rather you didn't-" he was cut off by you sliding a few sheets of work over to where you sat. he huffed as he gave up. "help yourself, i guess."
"did you expect more from me?" you nudged his shoulder as he leaned back.
a grin formed on his face for the first time in a long time. "no, not at all."
after a few minutes of scanning through his notes, your eye had been caught by an equation that seemed off. before pointing it out, because god forbid you be wrong in front of miguel - you'd never hear the end of it, you looked closer and tried to put your finger on what could be the issue. finally, you realised, and a winning smirk appeared on your face as you realised you were about to point out such an obvious flaw in miguel's project. maybe this rivalry isn't so one-sided.
"this equation is wrong." you began to explain to him the problem with the mistake you had seen as you scribbled over his incorrect notes. "it's all dependant on that one equation, really."
you laid back in your chair as miguel scanned over your scribblings with wide eyes in hopes to find something wrong about what you were saying. but no. you were completely right.
"you- i-" he stuttered over his words in shock, when finally, he sighed with a look of defeat.
"go on, say it big boy." you teased leaning over to him, your heart picked up when you saw a slight flush on his cheeks when you did so. no, he's just embarrassed.
he rolled his eyes at you, annoyed. "you're right." he grumbled.
"how very kind of you, miguel." you smirked and stood up. "this reminds me of the first time i corrected you. maybe it's time to understand that i'm just the better scientist. really, you should just retire early." you shrugged, as though your words were a plain fact, obvious to anyone but the stubborn miguel.
ever since meeting miguel, you were drawn to him entirely. yet he never paid much attention to you until the first time you corrected him, which pissed him off. ever since then, he had done everything in his power to save his ego and prove himself the better scientist, much like a child.
yet for some unknown reason, you loved his competitiveness. and you loved how determined he was to prove himself. you also loved the idea of always being on his mind.
if such a childish dispute would keep his attention on you, it was completely worth it.
"go home and sleep, miguel. you've worked hard enough." you gave him a tight lipped smile, yet refused to look at him after showing him some affection.
yet, when his eyes did meet yours, his mind began to race, feelings of adoration circling around him as he felt hearts in his eyes, before he pushed any abnormal feelings away. "since when did you care so much?"
your shoulders slumped. is he really that oblivious? surely such a smart man couldn't possibly miss the hints you've sent him.
"i've always cared, miguel."

hello everyone welcome to i talk about benrey for a minute here
as someone who’s watched the entirety of hlvrai at least 6 times, the full vods at least 3, and the cast commentary hovering somewhere around 10, i consider myself to be pretty well-versed in the series. i also kin benrey. this is probably important to my perception of him.
the series is about self-aware AI. its in the title! so it seems obvious enough to me that Benrey was programmed to be the final boss. he was SUPPOSED to be a silly character that antagonizes the protag and throws off the group dynamic, and then it’s a big reveal and you get to beat up this guy that was mean to you!
but he doesnt wanna. hes self aware.
Of all the characters, i think Bubby and Tommy are the most “powerful” in that they were able to break their characters the most. Tommy is a bit of a wild card because he doesn’t usually act like an AI. I view him as the “character you’re supposed to protect” in the party, but somewhere along the way he, too, became self-aware and figured out how to handle his own. I think that’s where the age thing comes in. He was programmed to be a 5-year-old that you’re trying to get out of this dangerous facility! but he didn’t want to be a 5-year-old, he’s smarter than that, he’s capable! so he changed it. Him being the son of Gman also probably helped with him being able to just do that.
I take Bubby and Dr. Coomer as both being tutorial characters. Dr. Coomer is a bit broken, but he still does his best to teach you about things. I think he’s the tutorial NPC that goes “watch out for [x]” and “we can use ropes to cross big pits!” and “we should call them Peeper Puppies!” while Bubby was supposed to be the “here’s how you shoot a gun”
Like, Dr. Coomer does the knowledge about the world, and Bubby does the action. for the video game. And Bubby is supposed to be kinda cold to you, because the action-tutorial NPCs tend to be. Like “what you cant even hold your own? tch, guess ill have to teach you.” But Bubby doesn’t do that. He doesn’t WANT to play the game, he wants to go back home. He liked it before the game was switched on. So he doesn’t teach Gordon shit and just tries to speedrun so the player will leave and he can go back home.
one little scene that stood out to me so much was when the crew is sitting around in a circle with the pigeons. not outside, the other scene with them sitting in a circle and there’s pigeons. why are there 2 of those.
anyways, Benrey is just staring at this pigeon behind Gordon, and singing to it, calmly. And then there’s a loud beep that sounds like the vox, and definitely doesnt come from Benrey. and he suddenly gets up and shoots the pigeon. That reads SO HARD like he was being too soft with the game world, so it pushed him to do something evil randomly. Like a little villain reboot.
Almost everything he does to antagonize Gordon can be read as genuine confusion. He kills random NPCs because he knows theyre not important, and that they can’t feel anything, and that they’ll only slow the team’s progress. And what makes Gordon so mad at him is how often Benrey says Gordon shouldnt be allowed in here. I take that as a similar stance to Bubby. Benrey doesn’t want to be the villain. He doesn’t want the player to progress and make him. That gets more obvious the closer we get to the end, and most people tend to notice it in the last scenes before Xen, where he’s suggesting they go all the way back, and basically begging the player to stop here, at least for a little while.
its really sad, honestly. but i take the cast commentary bits as canon. Which makes it adorable when Benrey comes back into the movie theatre with Gordon and we get
“I wonder what will happen. I bet you know what happens!”
“I win!!!”
He did win. He got to get past being the final boss. He got to join the epilogue. I think, he probably wasn’t supposed to be able to. But these guys broke the game enough that he could. Isn’t that sweet? Isn’t that a nice ending for him? I think he deserves it.
Wayne says he acts like “he isn’t aware unless he’s being spoken to” and I think that fits really well. Like, sometimes his actions are coded into his behavior, so he does them without realizing. And then the player interacting with him (which is the premise of the self-awareness) forces him to actually look at what he did, and sometimes he has no idea how to explain it. Leading to his “huh?”
listen to me. are you listening. i need you to hear this. i need more people to understand benrey. and how much i love him. hes trapped in the narrative, doomed by it to be the villain. but he doesn’t want to be. he clearly cares about the crew in his own silly goofy way. he doesn’t want to fight them. i wrote down everything he said in the finale, and he only says 5 outright malicious lines, all of which are directly after an unnatural pause, like he’s being rebooted again. Some important lines: “I knew this was gonna happen,”
“Stop shooting at me, I have to shoot back, I don’t wanna do that,”
“I didn’t have a big plan, I was supposed to be nice, but you forced me to be BAD so I’m gonna be BAD… friend.” the small, quiet “friend” there gets me every time. even after everything, even after his nature is revealed, he wants to believe theyre still friends.
“Don’t go in there, please… I don’t like that room." The amount of times he sounds so genuinely sad when asking them to stop, or even just saying “bro..” like he’s mourning the friendship they could’ve had. The amount of times he sounds genuinely pained when he’s glitching out and stretching across the screen.
And his last words, said childishly of course, but,
“This isn’t fair.”
