A Prissy Girl’s Guide to Spring

since i won’t be active on tumblr when next spring comes around, and i’ve done 3/4 seasons, i felt it was appropriate to go ahead and finish the series! if you find yourself inspired by my aesthetic/looks, you can absolutely use this as a guide for the next primavera season! 🐇

what’s the look this spring?

my personal forecast for fashion spring ‘24 is “pink pilates bimbo” for sure. the renewal of spring is the time for a wellness reset. so i’ll be engaging in a physical activity but i’ll still be in barbie attire. pink athleisure pieces with super girly additions is my predicted aesthetic. 🎀

A Comprehensive Inventory of Kurt Hummel's Hats (+ other headwear) -> Season 1, episodes 1-9 Early season 1 sees Kurt establishing his hat versatility and sense of hat adventure early on. Jack Grealish (Manchester City) - Snowman

Day 9 of Christmas

Y/n and Jack had bee running around the house since late last night, making sure that their daughters Kayla and Sophie's Christmas was perfect. They had laid out Kayla's Manchester City kits on the sofa, along with her various other toys from 'Santa'. Jack had taken the pleasure of eating the biscuits and the brandy since Santa apparently prefers a glass or two of brandy before leaving the house and going to the next.

The sunlight had just about shone through their curtains when they heard their daughters barging through the door, Kayla slapping down hard on her Dad, with Sophie trying to jump up on the bed. "Dad! Wake up! Santa came!" Kayla squealed. Sophie had given up on climbing the bed and ran over to her mum's side of the bed and poking her, babbling along. Y/n smiled and lifted the 2 year old before patting Jack beside her. "Jack, love." He grumbled. "Can we skip Christmas this year?" He asked. "No!" The two girls replied. "Silly dad!" Kayla giggled, pulling at his arm. "Can we go? I wanna see the presents!" He groaned and nodded, before hopping out of bed and throwing on his night gown. Oh god how he had turned into such a typical Dad on Christmas day.

They crept downstairs, Jack leading them all. He opened the door slightly and peaked in. "Oh dear, I can only see coal-"

"No!" Kayla nearly sobbed. "Only messing." Jack replied before opening the door fully and turning the light on to show a living room full of gifts, big and small. Kayla ran around, not knowing which to open first. "Y/n let Sophie waddle around, touching all the presents and grabbing some to bring back to help open, whilst Jack sat beside Y/n and watched Kayla run around tearing into her gifts. "Why's it got your name on it?" Kayla asked. "Well, Grealish is your name too, sweetheart." Jack replied. "I would've liked Haaland better." He looked back to Y/n who hid her laugh by smiling with Sophie at her colourful new toys.

As the day went by, Jack helped Y/n in the kitchen as they watched their daughters play outside in the snow. "We'll bring them in soon. Make sure they don't get sick." Jack said as he cut the carrots. "Let them finish the snowman first. This is the first snow they're actually allowed to play in." Y/n said. "I know I just-"

"Hi mum! Hi dad!" Kayla said sprinting in and running upstairs, whilst Sophie stood at the door giggling. "What's funny?" Y/n asked. She pointed at Jack who forgot he had Kayla's Christmas headband still on his head. "What? Do you not think I look stylish, Soph?" He asked while posing and making her giggle even more. "Silly daddy." Y/n chuckled along as she bent down to zip up Sophie's coat a bit more. "You haven't called me that in a while, love." Jack joked. "Jack, I-"

“Dad?” Kayla asked. “Can we use this scarf?” Jack looked at the designer scarf she held in her hands. “That’s Gucci.” Jack said. “You named your scarf?” Jack shook his head. “No, no. It means it's special.” Kayla’s eyes lit up. “So it’s perfect for our snowman. He’s special too.” Jack looked over to Y/n who looked back amused, almost to say 'Do it.' Jack let out a sigh and nodded. “I suppose so.” He said. Kayla cheered and ran outside, chucking the scarf around the pile of snow with coal as a mouth.

"Mum!" Kayla called in. Both parents looked out as Kayla pointed to what they believed to be the snowman. "It looks like dad now!" She shouted, making Sophie burst into a fit of giggles. Y/n laughed. Jack simply looked over to her, the same way he did the first Christmas he spent with her. Oh how the times had changed. From having to spend them away from eachother, to now spending them with their two daughters. He loved this woman and he loved the two little ladies out the back, laughing at something that bared no resemblance to him bar the Gucci scarf. "It's identical." Jack said. Y/n turned back to face Jack and nodded, matching the same face of love and adoration as he did. "The spitting image, love."

Sorry to disappoint but I'm a pretty bad dresser! I'm a t-shirt, jeans, and cap type of guy. Big sneakers. Also, you would think I'd be a nice dresser given how much I describe clothes and dress up my characters in fancy outfits but... :')

For the other half of your question, I'm going to assume they're, like, urban Americans:

Lucifer is a Y2K girl I think. He loves the 2000s aesthetic of "bad" or campy outfits. Sometimes, he does get more than a bit coquette-ish though.

Michael actually dresses alright. He likes being comfortable but he also likes looking... cute, for lack of a better word. He would like the frog eye headband.

Rosier dresses cottagecore, unsurprisingly

Asmodeus dresses like a gamer. Also he likes street wear

Baal loves Hawaiian shirts.

Uriel dresses dark academia without meaning to

JoJo’s Bizarre Fashion Adventure

My entire life, I’ve loved fashion. When I was little, my mom saw me as her doll, always dressing me beautifully, spending all of her precarious teacher’s salary so I could be the most stylish girl in kindergarten. I loved matching my shoes with my headband and my little purse, and as I grew up, I started using fashion as a way of showing people who I am.  

So, when my boyfriend forced me to watch Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (2012), I imagined it would be another shonen anime about violence, blood, and women with big t1ts. And even though it has a lot of violence and blood, and a lot of women with big t1ts, it also has my dream wardrobe. I was fascinated with the poses at first in parts one and two, but when my boyfriend and I started Stardust Crusaders, my mind was blown away. Not only did Jotaro Kujo instantly become my favorite Jojo so far, but I mainly loved his style. His school uniform that he always wears, personalized with the chains and belts, and his hair that melts into his hat, really show his tough, stoic character and made him more unique. I also really liked how, when we see him again in part four, he didn’t lose his essence. He has the same style but more mature; he still wears his hair melted into his hat and has that gold hand on his hat that reminds me of Star Platinum’s big hands. But now that he isn’t a student anymore, he has an anchor symbolizing his new interest: marine biology.

I thought it was brilliant how, from Stardust Crusaders to the end, the creators started using fashion as a resource to give even more life to the personality and identity of the characters. Not only by showing us through their outfits how they’ve changed, like in Jotaro’s case, but also how the clothes they wear have a connection to the stands they possess. Since the power of the stand comes from the power of the soul, fashion in Jojo’s is a representation of every character's inner power.

Even though in the third part the outfits were simpler—except Jojo’s, as he still had a badass outfit—Kakyoin had an all-green suit, symbolizing his stand Hierophant Green. Josuke has his amazing distinctive hair, with his modified version of the traditional Japanese uniform with a peace symbol and a heart, which makes me think of his stand Crazy Diamond, which has the ability to repair instead of destroy, like Love does. Bucciarati has a lot of zippers in his outfit, making the connection to his stand Sticky Fingers more obvious. Giorno Giovanna has ladybugs in his clothes, referencing his connection with nature and his stand Golden Experience, which can transform objects into living beings. And Jotaro in Stone Ocean has a shirt with a star, in honor of his iconic stand Star Platinum—plus, he has even cooler pants now.

Another thing I loved about watching Jojo's are the references to pop culture. Not only are most of the stands named after bands, albums, and songs that I really like, but I also loved discovering the fashion references and the collaborations between my favorite brands and Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. Writing this post allowed me to dive into Hirohiko Araki’s mind, where I found a lot of his inspiration. For example, Giorno’s hair is very similar to what Karen Mulder wore to a Mugler runway. I also found a lot of Versace magazine covers with poses very similar to those in this anime and manga, which was really unexpected because I never imagined that when I first started watching this show, it would have such an interesting connection to fashion. The worlds of c and anime are connected through Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, to the point where they’ve even collaborated with Gucci. More recently, Araki released a collaboration with Shueisha's UOMO magazine, where Bruno Bucciarati poses on the cover wearing Balenciaga to promote the Hirohiko Araki JoJo Exhibition: Ripples of Adventure exhibition.  Expanding his work outside the anime industry and leaving his legacy on fashion too. 

That’s why I really love Jojo’s bizarre world: it combines three things I adore—anime, fashion, and my boyfriend.

So he's all for cooking for Grace if it's the two of them and he turns it into a mini-date night because why not. He's there when Grace needs something doing whether it's zipping up an outfit or helping her pack, if she needs something he'll be the first one to do it or offer to do it for her. And then giving gifts - if he sees something that reminds him of Grace, he's getting it for her. Maybe it has Manchester on it and he's buying it because it reminds him of her. Yoongi: Acts of Service/Quality Time

He'd be the one who wants to spend time with his noona. So he'll find ways to do that whether it's at the studio or if their in a new city for the tour - if he sees something she'd like to go and see then he's making plans. Sometimes it's just the two of them on the couch with tea and coffee, taking the moment to catch up even if they saw each other about four hours ago. And he's act of service in Grace's favourite mug has broken then he'll try and fix it otherwise he's getting a new one and he's another one who will cook for Grace if she wants. Might try out British dishes to test his skills

Hoseok: Giving gifts/Works of affirmation

Because he's Grace's fashionista, he's one who will be buying things he sees in clothes stores for her. A handbag catches his eye, he knows Grace will love it. Maybe a pair of shoes. Or even a headband. If it catches his eye and he knows Grace will love it, he's buying it. And with words of affirmation, he will tell Grace that he loves her as a sister and how much he cares for her.

Namjoon: Quality Time/Acts of Service

They'll Namjoon together if there's time. A museum that Namjoon wants to go to, Grace is normally his partner. A fancy dinner they have to go to, Namjoon is her partner. Bookshops all the time. They have a dedicated bookcase for just the two of them. They have deep conversations just the two of them or they'll help each other with languages. And acts of service, is him helping her with lyrics, her career, other projects that might need his input. His door is always open for her anytime for anything.

Jimin: Physical affection/Quality time

Cuddles all the time! Hugs all the time! Best member to go to when you've had a bad day and Jimin is there when he knows Grace has had one of those - cup of tea, heating on, hot bath, fluffy socks and will pamper her by doing her skincare for her. His physical affection goes with his quality time - he'll hold hands with his noona wherever they go because he's protecting her and making sure she's okay. If their going somewhere just the two of them, it's normally for something they'll both enjoy.

Taehyung: Giving Gifts/Physical Affection

Once again, another of Grace's fashionistas so he'll do the same as Hobi but in designer shops. There's a dress in Gucci which he knows will look perfect on Grace, he's sending it to their stylists to adapt for their performances or red carpets. Like's to buy cute but odd things. Bought her a spice rack because it was blue and had seashells on it. And then physical affection: in the early days, because he's a koala, he'd cling to Grace because everything was new and different. Or he'd sneak into her room to sleep at the bottom of her bed, because he just needed her comforting smell. But he has to touch her so he knows she's there.

Jungkook: Physical affection/Quality time/Acts of service

Like Tae, has to touch her so he knows she's there and like Tae, mostly ends up sleeping next to her. Takes her hand to play with at award shows because he needs distraction or gives her shoulders a massage because he wants to. They have a dedicated time with each other and no one will interrupt it, no matter where they are. It's their time and they do whatever they want. And with acts of service, he's there getting her coat, shoes, bag, whatever she needs. She needs vegetables chopping, he's there ready. She needs someone to grab the heavy suitcase, he's the first there.
