Let's get this straight because I have seen people use Astarion approving of telling Yenna to get lost as proof of him hating kids. It is not.

Okay so yes Astarion does approve of telling Yenna to bugger off.

But he also fucking approves of giving her food or money.

If anything this kinda shows how the player has influence on Astarion. Astarion has had no autonomy for the past 200 years. He literally says in his good romanced ending that he has to find out who he is and what he wants. There really is no way to tell if he wants to be a dad or not in game because there is no option to bring up the prospect of having children with him. But I still personally feel like if Tav wants kids he'll warm up to the idea.

Also after taking Yenna in he becomes protective of her, albeit in a somewhat tsundere way. Pretty on brand for him I suppose.

So shut up about Astarion hating kids or how it's stealing traits from Wyll and Shadowheart, it isn't.

what everyone was like as a grub (child):

dylan: insanely sticky child, got told to be the dog a lot when playing house and was significantly more of a follower than a leader in regards to anything. drew on her arms with markers and had a new crush or "boyfriend" every week, wrote love notes, passed out valentine's. still cried a lot. over everything.

stéphanie: sheltered, unsociable, studious. focused on her books at school and didn't hang out with anyone outside of school—helped her mom run her own diner a lot, learned to cook with her. found doing chores more often than like. going outside. not a sticky child because her mom made her wash her damn hands.

dorothea: INSANELY muddy child. lazier than she is now, shy around adults, curious and bubbly around other children. played in the mud and picked up trash to keep a lot. screamed at bugs. still kind of screams at bugs. started adoring cars early on and getting in trouble for taking things apart without asking.

[locked]: hell on wheels. playground bully who only bullied you if she had a crush on you, and she had a crush on everyone. always injured and sticky. literally bit people. went home and watched movies because being that much of a terror doesn't leave you with very many friends after school.

anyway 💅 alternia as another realm within the 16 and maybe there was an invasion of ninjago at some point in the past, i'm still working out details. but the basic gist is a bunch of trolls immigrated to ninjago and honestly between the serpentine and munce and geckle and merlopians and the occasional skulkin and also the fucking. floating jaguars and boogie bears and everything else they fit right in tbh. they mostly keep to themselves but there is a bit of mingling between humans trolls and serpentine (up until the serpentine war at least), but trolls as elemental masters is next to unheard of given that trolls and humans can't really reproduce together that way.

except when wu goes to find all the holders of the elements of creation for the green ninja prophecy, well. Colton Bekkit and Nya are very obviously trolls, and wu knew that his brother had somehow managed to have a son with Tomeseek. what he wasn't expecting was for the masters of ice and lightning to have been raised by trolls, too. things are about to get chaotic (colton ends up crushing on the other three in three different quadrants pretty much. immediately. nya and kai had to raise each other and so nya's not really in touch with troll culture. things are only going to go off the rails from there)

I don't know. I've considered it more and more frequently as of late. I became a mother at eight sweeps. I did my best for every single one of them, was given a life that allowed me to provide better than I could've done on my own. But I was so young. I did so many things wrong. I was not able to protect all of them like I wanted to. But for all of my regrets, my children have blossomed into wonderful young people that I trust with my life and legacy. I did alright. They did better.

I think more and more of what I would do for them then if I had the knowledge I have now. I think I'd do so much better as a mother, presently, even if I was alone again. But if I were to have another child, I would want a partner for it. Just because I can go it alone doesn't mean I want to.

Also I have to add the human-honeyguide relationship, because like it's super cool and relevant.

The honeyguide is the only bird able to digest wax, but can't break beehives open by themselves, so they have a mutualistic relationship with humans. Honeyguides find beehives and guide humans to them, so humans open the hives for them and collect the honey, while the birds feast on wax and, yes, protein-rich grubs.

It's speculated, but very much unconfirmed, that they might have that same mutualism with other hominids as well as honey badgers, and they probably had it with our early ancestors too. A bit similar to the wolf-raven relationship, but with beehives instead of individual large prey.

im currently playing a fun game with my sister where we're just watching everything on this list that said 'rate analog horrors' (which is my least favourite genre) it is so tedious and horrible. highly recommend. as you can see, the mandela catalog received its own little section because while it is better made than a lot of these, it ruined the genre so entirely through its popularity that i cannot forgive it (its also gauche as shit so i don't feel that bad). this list is also funny because it only contains stuff made in the past 4 years so i dont get to put my old favies on it.

if you want 'so bad its funny to watch it' the classics of the genre like mandela and walten are always a go to. a couple of extras i would include for you are grub and snitch and the boiled one phenomenon (not listed). love it its so cute
