PJO TWEETS
(part 5)

requested: no but I did get the idea from @marvel8169 to turn this into a series so thank you!
content: daughterofzeus! yn (so she's kinda insane) ooc! luke, clarisse and chris simply because I haven't read the books so, one mention of sex, yn dresses provocatively but no one shames her or anything, thief shaming, age shaming and death threats all from percy lol, I think that's it.
a/n: this is the fifth part, but it's also the first part that has some semblance of a plot so... let me know if you like this writing style or not, also I added Chris, I felt like he was needed to make the group a little bigger. also since this is technically the first official part, every part from now on is gonna have a taglist so ask in the comments if you'd like to be added!

My Roman empire is this, my Roman empire is that. Yknow what my roman empire is? Luke Castellan. Bro was rightfully sick of being used by the shitty gods so went to Kronos with hopes of finally being able to be happy to only be used and manipulated by Kronos too. Like I'll say it, I am a Luke Castellan defender

A taxonomy of corporate bullshit
Tumblr media
Next Tuesday (Oct 31) at 10hPT, the Internet Archive is livestreaming my presentation on my recent book, The Internet Con.
Tumblr media
There are six lies that corporations have told since time immemorial, and Nick Hanauer, Joan Walsh and Donald Cohen's new book Corporate Bullsht: Exposing the Lies and Half-Truths That Protect Profit, Power, and Wealth in America* provides an essential taxonomy of this dirty six:
https://thenewpress.com/books/corporate-bullsht
In his review for The American Prospect, David Dayen summarizes how these six lies "offer a civic-minded, reasonable-sounding justification for positions that in fact are motivated entirely by self-interest":
https://prospect.org/culture/books/2023-10-27-lies-my-corporation-told-me-hanauer-walsh-cohen-review/
I. Pure denial
As far back as the slave trade, corporate apologists and mouthpieces have led by asserting that true things are false, and vice-versa. In 1837, John Calhoun asserted that "Never before has the black race of Central Africa, from the dawn of history to the present day, attained a condition so civilized and so improved, not only physically, but morally and intellectually." George Fitzhugh called enslaved Africans in America "the freest people in the world."
This tactic never went away. Children sent to work in factories are "perfectly happy." Polluted water is "purer than the water that came from the river before we used it." Poor families "don't really exist." Pesticides don't lead to "illness or death." Climate change is "beneficial." Lead "helps guard your health."
II. Markets can solve problems, governments can't
Alan Greenspan made a career out of blithely asserting that markets self-correct. It was only after the world economy imploded in 2008 that he admitted that his doctrine had a "flaw":
https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/greenspan-admits-flaw-to-congress-predicts-more-economic-problems
No matter how serious a problem is, the market will fix it. In 1973, the US Chamber of Commerce railed against safety regulations, because "safety is good business," and could be left to the market. If unsafe products persist in the market, it's because consumers choose to trade safety off "for a lower price tag" (Chamber spox Laurence Kraus). Racism can't be corrected with anti-discrimination laws. It's only when "the market" realizes that racism is bad for business that it will finally be abolished.
III. Consumers and workers are to blame
In 1946, the National Coal Association blamed rampant deaths and maimings in the country's coal-mines on "carelessness on the part of men." In 2003, the National Restaurant Association sang the same tune, condemning nutritional labels because "there are not good or bad foods. There are good and bad diets." Reagan's interior secretary Donald Hodel counseled personal responsibility to address a thinning ozone layer: "people who don’t stand out in the sun—it doesn’t affect them."
IV. Government cures are always worse than the disease
Lee Iacocca called 1970's Clean Air Act "a threat to the entire American economy and to every person in America." Every labor and consumer protection before and since has been damned as a plague on American jobs and prosperity. The incentive to work can't survive Social Security, welfare or unemployment insurance. Minimum wages kill jobs, etc etc.
V. Helping people only hurts them
Medicare will "destroy private initiative for our aged to protect themselves with insurance" (Republican Senator Milward Simpson, 1965). Covid relief is unfair to people that are currently in the workforce" (Republican Governor Brian Kemp, 2021). Welfare produces "learned helplessness."
VI. Everyone who disagrees with me is a socialist
Grover Cleveland's 2% on top incomes is "communistic warfare against rights of property" (NY Tribune, 1895). "Socialized medicine" will leave "our children and our children’s children [asking] what it once was like in America when men were free" (Reagan, 1961).
Everything is "socialism": anti-child labor laws, Social Security, minimum wages, family and medical leave. Even fascism is socialism! In 1938, the National Association of Manufacturers called labor rights "communism, bolshevism, fascism, and Nazism."
As Dayen says, it's refreshing to see how the right hasn't had an original idea in 150 years, and simply relies on repeating the same nonsense with minor updates. Right wing ideological innovation consists of finding new ways to say, "actually, your boss is right."
The left's great curse is object permanence: the ability to remember things, like the fact that it used to be possible for a worker to support a family of five on a single income, or that the economy once experienced decades of growth with a 90%+ top rate of income tax (other things the left manages to remember: the "intelligence community" are sociopathic monsters, not Trump-slaying heroes).
When the business lobby rails against long-overdue antitrust action against Amazon and Google, object permanence puts it all in perspective. The talking points about this being job-destroying socialism are the same warmed-over nonsense used to defend rail-barons and Rockefeller. "If you don't like it, shop elsewhere," has been the corporate apologist's line since slavery times.
As Dayen says, Corporate Bullshit is a "reference book for conservative debating points, in an attempt to rob them of their rhetorical power." It will be out on Halloween:

I'm a Percy Jackson apologist, not because I think he has anything to apologize for, but because people in this fandom tend to blame him for every little thing that goes wrong in those books, even if he had little or zero control over it or even made the objectively good or reasonable choice.
"Percy choked Nico in the last Olympian"
Percy was imprisoned by Hades himself, after Nico had (although, of course, unwillingly) betrayed him, in a cell, he was convinced would suffocate him, had just woken up of a nightmare of Typhon wreaking havoc in the US, with the gods doing very little to slow him down, and didn't even know it was Nico, he was attacking at first. He only realized it was him, after he had him already pinned to the floor and he let him go only a few moments after that. For all Percy could have known, Nico could have been a servant of Hades sent to kill him.
"Percy forgot to free Calypso."
First of all, not Percy's responsibility. Not at all.
Second of all, he did free her.
Percy stood before all the Olympians and, after winning the war for them, one of his demands was specifically that she (and other gods) should be forgiven. Let me be clear, Leo would not have been able to free Calypso from her island without this specific request. There was no possible way for Percy to know, that the gods would be assholes about it and wouldn't inform her of that. Hell, he even knew, that Hephaestus visited her from time to time to chat, so there was no reason for him to doubt that he'd just tell her.
"Percy killed Michael Yew in the battle of Manhattan"
Percy probably saved the entire Apollo cabin on that bridge. And as a reminder, it was Michael's idea to destroy it in the first place. Percy even told him to run before that. His death was without a doubt a tragedy, but by no means Percy's fault.
"Percy treated Tyson shitty after finding out he was a cyclops"
When? Give me one example in the Sea of Monsters were Percy was actively being a jerk to Tyson. Not something he thought, but something he actually did. He wasn't a fan of Tyson being his brother and denied it to other campers, yes. But, as a reminder, camp half-blood, or ar least some members of it, started to bully Percy after Tyson got claimed. The one place he thought he belonged to treated his friend and him by association like shit.
Still, he was on Tysons's side. He even defended him in front of Annabeth, his best friend might I add, and didn't stop spending time with him. They were a team during the chariot race, and even while thinking that Tyson might be a liability on their quest to save Grover, Percy refused to leave him behind, because he feared, that Tyson would be blamed for their disappearance.
I could go on and on and on, because that kid (and he is a kid, at the end of heroes of Olympus Percy is not even 17 years old) gets blamed for so much it's exhausting, but I 100% believe that nothing that Percy Jackson did was ever wrong and there is absolutely nothing he has to apologize for. Prove me wrong.

things Rick Riordan is a coward for doing/for not doing: a list:)
taking away percabeths grey hair streaks
not making Blitzstone canon in mcga (richard you had one job)
not making leo aroace and having one of his arcs involve him realizing he doesn't need a romantic relationship, could also include an arc for calypso(also i am an active caleo hater im so sorry)
making sadie x anubis canon???? gross dude
not including Grover in heroes of olympus like, at all
not really diving into percy and annabeths trauma after tartarus (i zoned out half way through my hoo reread so I don't remember if their trauma was talked about like at all💀)
not confirming in canon that will solace has a country accent (hc all you want but I need it in writing, I yearn to be right)
not giving Luke more screen time (book time? page time??? im a luke apologist, sue me)
not giving Reyna and Octavian a brother/sister relationship (like, ik we all hate octavian, and rightly so, but dude. they basically grew up together and no matter how unsufferable he is, they have history. they deserve a constantly bickering siblings dynamic)
taking away Annabeths dagger and daedalus' laptop in Mark of Athena (first of all, why? and that dagger was the last thing annabeth had of luke:( besides like, trauma but cmon)
doing whatever he did with my girl Drew Tanaka like dude😭 she deserved way better, it felt like she was only that way to promote pipers not-like-other-girls attitude
not exploring megs interest in piano more. we could've gotten a cute brother/sister moment between her and lester, we were robbed:(

there's a lot of conflict in the pjo fandom on how to view Luke as an antagonist
and it's because he got retconned which is what I don't see discussed as much in these arguments
a lot of people who are Luke apologists, or find him sympathetic, or think that Percy could have ever joined Luke are those who believe that Luke was doing all of his villainy to the benefit of demigods
but that's all information coming from TLO, the only time Luke says anything about helping other demigods instead of just being selfish and about his own ego is in TLO as he's dying and no earlier
even his sympathetic backstory regarding May is entirely contained within TLO even if the audience has been aware from TLT that he ran away
There's no reason to believe May or a desire to help demigods had anything to do with Luke's original reasoning for joining Kronos or that Riordan had this in mind when he started the series
because Luke straight up gives all of his reasoning and motivations in his monologue at the end of TLT to Percy
but I do want to note that Luke showed signs of not being quite so wholesome as he appeared well before he isolated Percy in the woods, he first shows anger at Hermes really early on in his introduction when Percy first arrived at camp, and he kind of targets and isolates Percy in any sword fighting lessons they have once he proves to be a natural and he avoided Percy after the quest until he lured him into the woods, it's all pretty obvious Luke has other things going on because this is YA and on the younger side of YA so you can't be quite that subtle about it but I think it gets forgotten compared to the larger incidents when you haven't reread the books recently
When Luke does finally reveal himself and list all his motivations there are two main ideas within them
first, Luke is espousing social Darwinism survival of the fittest ideology that is outright anti-social and anti-intellectual as he wants to destroy infrastructure and knowledge to return to people living in caves
second, Luke is showing extreme amounts of hubris implied to have been cultivated by Kronos as he says Kronos identified his talents better than Hermes did (iow flattered Luke's ego), Luke believes he will be at the top of this social Darwin food chain with no concern for what would happen to other demigods, and despite his failures that he refuses to acknowledge when it came to stealing the lightning bolt, he instead boasts that the gods are stupid and about how easy it was to steal, he straight up believes he could have taken on Ares when the god caught him barely outside of NYC and Kronos had to bail him out, and Luke blames Grover for the cursed shoes failing when Luke was the one who gave a son of Poseidon that the sky god was mad about existing a pair of flying shoes, Percy obviously wasn't going to use them
Luke in TLT is not working for the betterment of demigods or anything other than his own ego, Luke wants to destroy Olympus brick by brick because he saw Hermes giving him a quest that Heracles had performed as an insult to his ego so he didn't take it seriously, failed and was scarred, he felt humiliated and unable to bear the injury to his overinflated ego, he turned it into anger at his father and Kronos took advantage
this is the heart of this character prior to any retcon in TLO, it is not sympathetic and Percy has no interest in it and doesn't believe in or agree with it
a lot of people also argue about whether or not Luke is a groomer
he is objectively a groomer as grooming does not always mean for sexual abuse, anyone he converted to Kronos's side was ideologically or religiously groomed depending on how you want to look at shifting allegiance from the gods to the titans within PJO, we know for sure in canon that at minimum Luke convinced Chris to come with him as he was in cabin eleven before being seen on the Princess Andromeda and Luke is explicit about demigods pledging themselves to Kronos drags a piece of him out of the pit so he groomed Chris into coming with him for at least this purpose before using him as cannon fodder in BotL
the one flip where Luke was made worse in TLO vs prior characterization is whether or not he was grooming characters sexually and a pedophile, Annabeth clearly had a crush on him in TLT which he is not seen by Percy to reciprocate but in TLO Luke asks Annabeth if she loves him and Annabeth clarifying it as in a familial way does push it into assuming Luke meant it romantically, and Silena describes Luke as charming her before blackmailing her into being a spy, so the reader has to decide if Luke was only interested in the information and just using charm to get it or if he was also interested in Silena and this will always be ymmv because there's no confirmation either way within the text on this
what isn't debatable is Luke trafficking demigods he can't groom into joining the Titan's army as Geryon states he gets paid for delivering demigods to the titan's army and as I pointed out before, Luke used Chris among other demigods as cannon fodder to try and figure out how to navigate the labyrinth
there's nothing sympathetic here ideologically or in his actions so Luke's comments about demigods ring hollow in TLO in light of his previous actions
While these retcons might have made Luke sympathetic to some, I find them insincere and jarring and also make him an objectively worse character and antagonist
PJO is a series about setting variations on Greek myths in the modern (mid 2000s) era
the ancient Greek religion did not have sins in the way Christians understand sins, but hubris is the closest they get to having that as multiple myths concern punishing mortals who try to rise above the gods and claim they're better than them
why would you state that this particular worst characteristic in all of Greek myth is your deuteragonist and love interest's fatal flaw (I say state because I don't completely agree that Annabeth is hubristic) when your main mortal antagonist is brimming with arrogance and has an overinflated ego?
Luke thinks he's better than he is at everything, and he thinks he's better than the gods to the point of being able to bring down Olympus, he is arrogant way beyond anything Annabeth is capable of and it should be a major character trait for a villain in a story pulling from Greek myth, this was the correct narrative choice
but more than that Luke is espousing social Darwinism an anti-social ideology of the 20th century which is updating him out of Greek myth in line with the setting and other similar changes Riordan made
but I actually think the PJO books could have been prescient if Riordan had leaned into the TLT characterization rather than away from it given the way the 2010s ended up shaping up
Luke can absolutely be interpreted as a radicalized and disaffected middle class young man inside the PJO universe
sure in the mortal world he ran away from home and is broke, but in PJO, he's the claimed son of an Olympic god and has that god's favor, he's good looking, an excellent swordsman, and has authority over the largest cabin as a camp counselor, he has it basically as good as you can get it at as a demigod at CHB had he not decided to not take his quest seriously
he's pissed off because he was entitled as he thought he deserved an entirely new quest and to do it perfectly and he couldn't take the hit to his ego when he didn't get that then he listened to the Greek myth equivalent of a retvrn podcast aka Kronos talking in his dreams
Luke could have been a compelling combination of the absolute worst of anti-social behavior out of Greek myth aka hubris and combined it with what was in the mid 2000s then to come anti-social trend of young men getting funneled into the alt-right of the 2010s and beyond, it's like right there with Luke's jock to preppy clothing style and everything
the only flaw with this is that PJO as a series is concerned with ending familial cycles of violence rather than getting into the political weeds of overthrowing the gods and isn't a good one to one of alt-right/fascists wanting to overthrow democracy in favor of dictatorship, but a family member descending into the alt-right is a real issue families have had to deal with so it's not as if the focus and themes of the series couldn't have been maintained by leaning into these aspects of Luke seen in TLT
so why didn't Riordan do that? Why did he retcon Luke into being more sympathetic and acting like he cared about demigods?
I can't say for sure, but I think he didn't want to have Percy kill a mortal character with his own hands instead of by bomb (or editors said he wasn't allowed) even though he'd already depicted Percy as willing to kill Gabe at 12
but also a little bit he wanted to tie it back to making life better for demigods leading into Percy asking for his gift for the gods as if killing an anti-social antagonist isn't enough for pro-social raise your kids better messaging
I think both are weak arguments compared to what could have been done if Luke wasn't retconned to be more sympathetic, I think the audience could be trusted to remember Percy had criticism about the gods' parenting without prompting from Luke
it also doesn't help that Percy is made to give Hermes a pass on his parenting of Luke right after all this in TLO because Hermes is supposed to be the good parent out of the gods I guess, but it kind of undercuts the overall criticism of the gods' parenting and even Luke's retcon into caring about other demigods and being a victim of Hermes' parenting to garner sympathy, like why have the parent of the antagonist in a series about bad parenting receive the least amount of criticism from the protagonist?
Basically, the argument on Luke should be what a massive missed opportunity he was and that weakening your antagonist like this to the point a section of the fanbase thinks your protagonist could have joined him at any point weakens any narrative and ideological differences between your protagonist and antagonist thereby weakening the overall themes of your narrative
killing off an anti-social antagonist will always be a stronger pro-social message than killing off a secretly pro-social or same ends different means one in a high stakes fantasy series like pjo
the people who find Luke sympathetic will continue to find Luke sympathetic, but it doesn't change there was a retcon that weakened him thematically as a character

Okay I'm finally sitting down to properly watch the PJO series so here's an episode-by-episode live blog I guess. (Fair warning, I haven't read the books since I was a teenager, I am a smidge of an apologist for the films, and my favorite adaptation so far has been the musical.)
Episode One:
All of the actors are doing a really good job, I especially like Sally.
The costume design for both the monsters and the humans is pretty killer. I want Percy's sweater.
I also love the little seaside cabin and want to live there!!!
This is such a mild gripe BUT as someone with dyslexia I wish there was a better way to visually depict it without like, doing the swapping letters thing cuz that's just not what it's actually like at all.
Gabe maybe feels a little too funny. Like I'm supposed to hate him and think it's justified that he deserves to be turned into stone at the end, this version of him is really.....toned down, and his banter with Percy and Sally was fun to watch. I should hate him, but really he just came across as unpleasant. Less abusive asshole and more "old married couple who share interests but can't communicate without shouting" you know?
Loved Grover's little "I'm 24 actually" lmao that was great.
Not a fan of Percy immediately recognizing the Minotaur within a millisecond of it appearing before the audience even got a good look at it. Like, I just sat there thinking "how can he even see it?" rather than feeling scared of a big monster barreling at them.
The action is uh....fine? Feels a little lackluster. Or kinda....divorced from the rest of the show weirdly?? Idk it makes me feel like I'm watching a movie of a movie if that makes sense?? But we'll see where they go with it. (I know banter during a fight isn't realistic and people make fun of Marvel for it, but like...it helps to have at least a little talking. We don't wanna be Man of Steel.)
I feel like there's been a few "slightly out of sync ADR" moments but they weren't too distracting.
Pacing into Sally saying goodbye felt a little long, kinda took the shock of her dying out of the scene, but the actress REALLY sold all the emotional beats so I'll forgive it.
I LOVE the credits sequence!!! Reminds me of the designs on that one box set of the books in a really cool way.
Episode Two:
Oh yes the ugly ass neon orange shirts are here bless!
FUCK YES THAT'S DIONYSUS BAYBEEE!! My ONLY note is that he def could have turned up the energy a little, but that's probably just bcs I love how loud and unpleasant he is in the musical and I also know how unhinged this actor can be.
Chiron is such a delight <3
I like the cabins too, way better than how I imagined them as a kid reading the books lol
Oh, I can see why the new fans fell for Luke so hard.
Grover assuming a human being squished would be like an old banana is very funny. Felt very book-humor in a good way.
Clarisse!!
Oh damn actual disabled half-bloods, very cool!
Minor but I can't actually tell what Percy did wrong with the bow? Weird editing I guess.
Aside from that I actually love a good "fuck up" montage, I honestly wish it were a little longer.
Probably doesn't matter but I don't get having them burn the food after they've started eating? I thought that was a before you sit down type thing.
Percy burning the blue candy to try to talk to his mom was sweet tho T_T
"real friends" hahahaha.....yeah.......about Luke.......
yay! hazing!
Oh I love Annabeth already >:D
Thalia.....is pronounced differently than I thought....?
(I'm sorry I'm too much of a fan of 'Tree on the Hill' for this exposition dump. That shit hits harder when coming from Grover.)
Percy giving Annabeth the "actually I suck and my self esteem is riding on this so like pls don't ask me to do anything hard T_T" talk is just, so good lmao
ofc he doesn't know what's going on Annabeth you didn't tell him anything
Okay the action is a lot better when it's between the actual characters and doesn't involve a 3D monster, though I still had trouble following all the hits Percy was taking.
Oooh I can see why people did so much art of Percy being claimed that was a good shot.
FUCK YEAH TELL HIM YOU'RE SALLY JACKSON'S SON
(I hope they kept the Oracle in the attic...)
Okay I have to go do some things and then I'll be back for more!

Ep 5 reactions
spoilers beneath the cut for s1e5 and minor spoilers for most of the books, but I censored the traitor's name. mostly positive tone.
ANNABETH SAW THE FUCKING FATES
"Im the last one to realize this aren't I" A LITTLE BIT
I love Percy admitting there he was really ONLY in it for Sally. Poseidon does ONE good thing and all of a sudden it's "wait I think the conspiracy to start war betten the gods is... important?" SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU MEET REASONABLE PARENTING EXPECTATIONS? A certain god could be taking notes, specifically the patent of [REDACTED]
go off Percy with the emotional intelligence. A for effort
and an A PLUS to Annabeth for the sharing important info and being vulnerable.
I see that coat covering the bike seat. there's human skin on that thing, isn't there?
LIVING the portrayal of Ares as man-baby who starts twitter fights. average maturity level of anyone who likes war.
"there's no fear in you, is there?" STAWPPP
THEY KEPT THE MANHUNT PLOT🎉🎉🎉🎉 also the Gabe is Gabe-ing. Manipulate mansplain manwhore on the most literal level. except disney probably cut the womanizer bit.
the whole "Im immature as shit but my threats are real, I hold all the cards" THE GOD OF WAR IS GODOFWAR-ING
"can I walk them to the door" IS HE GONNA RUN FOR IT? they're really letting Grover miss out on this quest, huh? I mean I guess it makes sense. PLUS it means more Grover-exclusive scenes! MY BOYY
that's a lie. there HAVE to be corny movie nights at camp, right?
ALSO botl movie date, anyone?👀👀👀👀
is that? a JOKE I HEAR??? poking fun at Percy? a little. Genuine? ALSO TRUE. If you told me that "amusing" line was Liften from the book and I've just forgotten about it all five million times I read it, I WOULD BELIEVE YOU
Annabeth who complimented Circe's loom when Percy got cursed🤝 Annabeth who complimented Hepheastus when Percy got trapped
the way she says push before telling him what it is😭😭😭
WE'VE MET BEFORE. I'M 24. A FAN!? GROVER WHAT ARE YOU PLAYING AT
songs about feelings that was PERSONAL
*insert Coach Hedge talking about nature*
Annabeth asking what Ares need the kids for if he wants the bolt/thinks their quest means nothing🤝 Grover gaslight girlbossing : doing detective work under Percy's nose
OOOH good detail with Percy being caught up with all the "3000 year-old goss" because HIS MOTHER TOLD HIM hi sally i fuckign love u
"don't even try to tell me not to be weird about this" we love an honest queen. While I kinda miss book Annabeth being a bit stompy and whiny at this part, I do think that the show version suits its own characterization of Annabeth, saying whatever she thinks needs to be said.
this whole show, I've been able to see everything. episode five DO NOT be the one to let me down! PLEASE!
THE SONG omg i wasnt expecting that. miraculous movie flashbacks fr.
W CONVO. DOUBLEYOU CONVO. nothing to add. perfection.
Also. don't shoot but the song choice unironically fits Hephaestus's story.
SWIMMING
is that a giant gold naked statue of Hera? to taunt them for cheating on him? hypocrite.
"they like to ignore what doesn't fit their narrative" [REDACTED] APOLOGISTS TAKE NOTES.
also, SMOOTH AF
okay there's no way Annabeth doesn't know that story. there's ONE way to take a god's power and she doesn't know it? at least let them tell it in tandem! a little "Yeah I recognize the chair, what of it?" THEN let the touchy-feely boy present the bargain. AT LEAST.
SHE'S NOT LEAVING WITHOUT HIM
"do you need some help?" "FUCK OFF" that's Annabeth
in the one hand, I am not a fan of depriving Annabeth of her super wisdom hero moment. on the other hand, placing responsibility to fix things on the perpetrators instead of those kids from Season ONE queen shit, and showing people can change. slay, but PLEASE let Annabeth do some more puzzle shit!
THE SHIELD LOOKS SO BIG IN HER HANDS
THESE FUCKIGN TWELMVE YEAR OLDS
OH so [REDACTED] and Ares conspired to make sure the trio never makes it there, not just using the magic things that activate at a certain place, but also by DIRECTING THEM TO THE TIME FREEZE ON PURPOSE
TO SUMMON WHAT
that interaction. SO THEM
YOU KNOW WHO WHATTED THE WHAT

i really hope they dont make ares a misogynist crap to clarisse in the series when in the myths ares literally is the only decent father in the entire olympus. i dont want cabin 5 girls thinking their father would not love them bc of their gender

my username is a joke 😔
Intro: Call me jina, I'm 19, bi, nd, currently going by any pronouns, but mainly she/her. I'm Central Asian and MENA.
Big HoO and PJO (book+tv) fan. that's mainly what I post here, but i do post other stuff. rn it's gravity falls and the dragon prince. i post my fair share of percabeth and valgrace.
Other pages: @girlhoodisgrief @pjotwitter
AO3 account: moonssappho. i have 20 published fics! here's the link to my page [x]
mini faq:
Why is your username Grover Apologist?
it's a joke. Not really much to it. Just wanted to have a Grover based username and this was available and was really funny to me because, as you may have noticed, Grover is not in need of an apologist.
Can I send asks?
send me whatever you want! i may not always reply but i love seeing what y'all have to say. i especially like headcanons, headcanon requests, etc. i'm always up for anything.
What do you write on AO3?
Literally 90% Valgrace. I like to shake it up sometimes and write a different pairing/character, but Valgrace comes the most naturally and I love them to bits so.
Why didn't you complete X fic?
I'm just a girl 🎀
Here's where you can find my:
analyses
headcanons
