I’m actually scared of alienating some of my followers and moots with all the trans discourse I’ve been steeping quietly in and contemplating, but… I’m trying to not let being scared shut me up about this. That, in and of itself, is erasure and silencing.

Fuck staying quiet. Trans men and mascs deserve a voice, and we, as a group, are not oppressing or invalidating anyone else by using that voice. (Obviously there are shithead exceptions!! Anyone can be an asshole.)

I really hope that if I ever speak about any of this in the future, that people recognize that it’s not ever, ever trans femininity as a concept I have an issue with. It’s people who

- try to divide the community

- are reinventing gender essentialism from the ground up but make it trans

-police other people’s identities and decide for them what oppression they must face because of a tiny set of superficial traits

- simply. Don’t understand what intersectionality means.

- disregard and invalidate anyone who doesn’t fit a very specific (binary, rich, white, abled, flawlessly passing) idea of what it means to be trans.

None of those things are specific or exclusive to one identity. There just happens to be a community of transfems who are currently espousing many of these ideas as gospel. They are understandably defensive because of real actual transmisogyny they face. But other trans people are not your enemy. Accusing anyone and everyone who tries to point these flaws out as radical transmisogynists is simply not true. Pointing out bigotry is not bigotry in itself.

I don’t want the trans community to constantly be at each other’s throats. We each have to sit down and think if we ever catch ourselves blaming an entire other marginalized group for our issues. That’s just fascism babes.

Also, not to be depressing, but I really do think one of Cas's nightmares is his human family coming to save HIM.

Like literally, there is probably not one thing that this guy wants less.

I just feel like...this is one of Cas's WAKING nightmares since Lily Sunder Has Some Regrets, and since Stuck in the Middle (with You)

They literally only escape because the leader got cocky and distracted by Ruby's "cool knife," otherwise Sam (who was pretty much outfought) would've been skewered. If the rest of the demons hadn't gotten scared and smoked out after said leader died, it could've been bad for everyone else, too. Even Mary, arguably the strongest brawler, was about to bite it!

I'll be watching tonight's episode on Twitch but I am curious to see how things will operate on Beacon with it being a VOD rather than a stream, and potentially with the ad break cut out as well. While I can appreciate the intent & it is probably a whole other can of worms to host streaming [CORRECTION apparently the Daggerheart one shot was streamed live from Beacon - that's awesome!], I hope that over time they can figure out how to best sync up the initial airing between Beacon and their other platforms. Maybe stream first & drop the VOD right after. Call me crazy but I actually prefer the streaming experience with a mandatory break in the middle! And I enjoy all viewers being around the same timestamp so it's possible to peruse the main critical role tag without seeing something jumped ahead. And with the break cut out of the version on Beacon, it would be very easy in the second half for a block of viewers to be naturally 15min ahead even if no one is deliberately skipping forward. As such, I'll probably stay out of the cr tag tonight. Happy watching, whatever platform you're on!

well i also wrote in a support ticket about the stupid bullshit captain america fandom tag change & received a lengthy reply indicating that the change would not be reverted & it's actually so super precedented (not true) & makes sense for how the current fandom folksonomy works (not true) & has nothing to do with race (might be true but not relevant to the effect, which is, in my opinion, Not Great). disappointing :(
