How much wood WOULD a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood?
I woodchuck would chuck as much wood as a woodchuck could chuck, if a woodchuck could chuck wood. But with modern deforestation, that's less and less each year. That's why I'm teaming up with Greenpeace to deface world heritage sites.

googly eye obsidian hobo nickel or it was chilly this morning and i was wishing my slippers were by my bed but they were nowhere to be found
in a month i will be able to see sweet old two fry and holler for the first time in four years
in a week i will drive to the coast with my daughter for her birthday to see the wednesday concert
in eight hours both of my kids and my girlfriend will come over and we will hang out and drink dollar bucket nonsense and cook up a bunch of chicken sandwiches and chili dogs and fishcake dogs and french fries and tell tales tall and otherwise about our weeks
in fifteen minutes i will finish this cup of coffee and walk down to the river and look for messages from my double

A banner year for varmints
I can't offer you any relevant scientific data, but my hunch, based on personal observations and the anecdotal reports of people I know, is that varmints are having a good year.
I'm talking chipmunks, squirrels, rabbits, skunks ... and that most persistent of invaders, the groundhog (I've already trapped four of them so far this year).
My theory is that the mildness of the most recent winter and early spring allowed more of them to survive ... and breed.
I suspect it may foretell another residual effect of climate change.

In honor of Groundhog Day, here's one that somehow wedged itself under the ramp of my house last summer. I have no idea what this symbolizes.

I am, in fact, a woman who can sit still and get something done in one sitting. I'm very capable of getting a task done with minimal distractions, and I thrive on routine. [side note: please don't go 'neurotypical' as you read that because, well many reasons, but it kind of sets up the structure that neurotypicals cannot be distracted, and cannot have hyperfixations and let me tell you: I am very capable of procrastinating and getting distracted. And there is this little trigger in my brain that goes 'what the fuck are you doing??' Everytime someone calls me neurotypical because I can do what I need to do...this isn't well explained, and I very purposely haven't written a full essay about it because intentionally starting fights is...very immature lol but this is just my opinion! Be aware! Your comments have power!]
Anyway, my point is: what is bird watching? Like why do we do that? Put me in front of a back yard with squirrels? I'm paying attention. Chipmunks? Let's do it! People? Yes PLEASE. Groundhogs? HELL YES.
but...birds? No...not my cup of tea lol

TIL that groundhogs can climb trees and become very aggressive when threatened by, say, a person on the other side of a patio door.
