One of my favorite things about black dogs is that you can really be any breed,

In the mythology, a few black dogs had their breed somewhat assumed just by the silhouette or shape but there wasn't anything definitive or conclusive

The only thing that makes a black dog a black dog is well... by being a black dog (also the cryptid supernatural ghostly factor too)

So you can have black dogs that are irish wolfhounds or huskies, you can have spectral hounds that are pomeranians or pitbulls, church grimm who identify with whippets and poodles, possibilities are endless

You just... gotta be a black dog dude

I know nobody asked but imma give out some Hollow Knight headcanons!

- Gods have their mortal selves and their true selves, they don’t often show their true self, as it could blind mortals or drive them mad to witness such raw power. The true self also has a few personality differences from the mortal self.

- Pk is unnaturally cold, so much so that unless water is hot enough to cook a bug alive, it will freeze to his shell.

- Pk talks in whispers, as being a the god of mind/soul gives him a powerful voice that can influence mortal bugs.

- Radi is a poodle moth

- Pk and the Nightmare King were buddies at some point in time! Grimm only really knows PK from what NKG has told him.

- Wyrm’s are born intersex, and don’t really have a concept of gender or sexuality.

- Hornet inherited a small bit of PK’s foresight, it comes in the form of strong feelings about places or people

- Speaking of foresight, Pk’s foresight, while it can be used on command, can also be triggered by touch. Making it so that he can see a specific person’s future if he is touching them while using his future sight.

- Gods can change the temperature of a room to match their moods

- Gods have magic themed around elements that represent them, but are capable of other magics (Grimm is a fire mage, PK is a frostmancer, Radi had light magic, Root can do plant magic, etc)

- The vessels have a form of telepathy between each other, but have to use sign language to speak to anyone who doesn’t have a connection to the void.

- each god has their own realm, the realm contains their memories, but mostly take the form of environments that best fit them, and deteriorate or change depending on their physical health or state of mind

- Pk doesn’t like his more brutal instinct, but does trust it (it’s never steered him wrong in fights or hunts)

- God are more physically frail the more powerful they are. Extremely powerful gods will have very defensive fighting styles, with lots of ranged attacks.

- Bugs have always had minds, as instinct is a part of the mind, when PK got to Hallownest he didn’t give them a mind/intelligence, just greatly enhanced what was already there.

- Pk had ADHD, hence the meticulously clean palace versus the messy workshop (he has a system, okay?)

- Pk is a socially awkward recluse, many people find him intimidating due to the fact he doesn’t talk very much, and when he does it’s in cold, echoey, whispers. Truth is he has no clue how to socialize

-Root forces PK to socialize with the dreamers and the five knights (He and Ogrim became good friends due to this)

-speaking of the dreamers, Lurien admires the king, but more like how a kid would admire their older sibling, rather than some one sided crush.

- He and Herrah have a “you don’t bother me, and I won’t bother you” relationship. It’s not hostile, but it’s not peaceful ether, (pk is not great at first impressions) (and Herrah does not give second changes)

- PK did his best to be a good father to Hornet, but was clueless about children, though they are easier to interact with than adults (children are so genuine and easy to read, adults have so many social rules)

- Root did most of the talking when she and pk were in public

-Pk and Monomon get along well, they’re friends, but they aren’t particularly close (mostly because they both get so absorbed in their work they never leave their studies)

-The great knights are loyal to a fault, but do have some gripes with the royals

- Hegimol thinks PK needs to be more aggressive and assertive

- Dyraa has a one sided crush on the Queen, both royals know, Root thinks it’s cute, PK doesn’t care because in the end Root chose to marry him

- Isma believes that a little patience and kindness is all the push the king needs to get out of his shell, and admires the queen for her kind heart. She is also vegetarian

-Wyrm’s cannot eat vegetables, they will make the Wyrm sick, (PK forced himself to eat Isma’s cooking anyways because she worked hard on it)

- Le’ Meer (did I spell that right?) has no opinion on the queen, just didn’t interact with her often, did think that Dryaa’s obvious flirting was unprofessional, and Hegemol needed to stop being so forcefully in his attempt to spar PK, also had little to no opinions on PK. The royals were just Le’ Meer’s employers. (I do not know Le’Meer’s pronouns)

-Pk did not commission the statue of him, or the idols, but though it was a nice gesture

-Wyrm’s are born blind, pk is no exception, he just uses his other senses to navigate, and memorized each persons footsteps, speech patterns, and tells them apart based on their voices. (It get hard with people he’s not around often)

-Monomon is a jellyfish, and cannot leave her little tube/tank (?)

-Hornet was named after Herrah’s first kill

Staff getting along with Pokémon:

It was inevitable that the staff will also have a nice bonding moment with the Pokémon as well. Hopefully the adults would have less shenanigans than the students… though Crowley is a so-so on this one.

Crowley + Corviknight

“This creature may as well be the mascot for Night Raven College! Such sleek dark feathers and an intimidating expression, how is it possible that a child possesses this mighty beast?!”

Phoebe was brushing Corviknight’s metal body one afternoon along with some other Pokémon, it was during that time when Crowley dropped by the Ramshackle dorm to drop off more responsibilities on the prefect when he dropped what he was carrying at the sight of the metal bird.

His gasp of awe startled Phoebe as she looks at the headmaster who acts as if he’s never seen any other large Pokémon already. Crowley starts his babbling how he has never gotten the chance to see this majestic beast. Phoebe has to explain to him that this was Corviknight and its currently being brushed and bathed.

Crowley just tells her not to mind him and makes the excuse that he wants to observe how she routinely cares for her Pokémon since it might be useful for an educational essay. As if anyone would read an essay that’s based on creatures that sound made up despite Twisted Wonderland being a world full of fae and mermaids.

Corviknight feels a bit uncomfortable when Crowley is staring at it but it seems like everything it does from preening its feathers and even interacting with another Pokémon seems to fascinate him. Phoebe thinks he’s starting to become another Rook Hunt if he keeps this up. Its ironic to see how both of them are birds of the somewhat same feather but the other doesn’t seem to want to be in the other’s company.

Divus + Furfrou

“What have we here? A rather interesting puppy, and such such silky fur it has. Do you mind me borrowing it a bit? I want to see he beauty this canine has”

Divus spotted Fufrou who was being brushed by Phoebe in the school garden. Of course, being a dog-lover, he would immediately ask her what this beautiful specimen was. Phoebe would definitely show him the pictures of the different styles that Furfrou could be groomed into and Divus would probably want to take the Pokémon to be groomed.

He would have Fufrou match his black, white and red aesthetic and wished that he had a poodle like this, strong and even able to use moves that go beyond normal canines. Furfrou does seem fond of Divus so Phoebe let the Pokémon tag along Divus but still makes sure to keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn’t disturb him.

There was not trouble it seems, the students even encourage her to let Furfrou tag along Divus more because he’s less strict that way.

Mozus + Glameow

“This cat is almost like my Lucius, but it has a more… cunning personality, I suppose cats will still be cats even in your world”

Glameow was allowed to wander off the Ramshackle dorm since it would just act like any other cat. Grimm prefers that it sneaks off somewhere because it took joy on being a nuisance towards him. Swiping the best part of his meals, tugging his tail and scampering away.

It wandered into the staff room one day and it was spotted by Lucius, the cat was struck by cupid and immediately jumped off Mozus’ desk to strut towards Glameow. The professor’s eyes followed his familiar to see another cat with a rather spring-like tail, being courted by Lucius.

Being the cat magnet that he is, Glameow purrs into his hand and rubs against his pants. He figured that this creature belongs to Phoebe, he was about to go find her and remind her to keep an eye on her Pokémon when Phoebe passed by the staff room, Glameow darted to the girl, meowing happily while Grimm looks appalled and gets a few feet away.

Mozus proceeds to ask her if she was aware one of her creatures were wandering the hallways. Phoebe looked sheepish but she says that Glameow always wanders around but it always comes back and it doesn’t cause much trouble, Grimm mumbles how it was not behaved. Mozus can see how well-behaved Glameow is but still warns her that it should not wander into the hall of mirrors, especially in Savannaclaw. Phoebe nods her head and walks off with Glameow in tow who meowed a goodbye to the stern professor.

Glameow will definitely make detours to the staff room, Mozus would have an extra bowl of high-quality cat food and milk for the Pokémon, and Lucius gets to spend more time to spend with his crush.

Vargas + Falinks

“What an energetic little guy! Come on, show me what you got!”

One would think that Ashton Vargas would get along with Pokémon that look strong but he just so happens to witness the sparring session between Corviknight and Falinks. The way the small formation would parry the attacks from the large metal crow is impressive to Ashton.

Falinks would be invited to train the students during PE, Riddle and Azul absolutely dislike how it always manages to overpower them despite the short stature. The PE teacher one time tried sparring with Falinks and he ended up on the ground, it was a rare moment because Ashton has been defeated and in all his life, he was considered the strongest.

He doesn’t go down like a sore loser; he just gets up and announces to the Pokémon that they’re now proper rivals. He pats Phoebe on the back to praise her talents for having such strong Pokémon, the pat sent her to the ground.

Sam + Trevenant

“You certainly fit my shop’s aesthetic very well, here’s a reward for you and that Phoebe kiddo for helping me out”

Sam was having problems about sneaky students who try to sneak in through the back door of his store due to the security cameras shutting down. It would take at least two weeks to have the new security system installed. Though he does have those mysterious shadows to keep the store safe from the inside, the outside is what he lacks any security. Phoebe offers to lend him Trevenant until Crowley bring in the new set of CCTVs.

Trevenant looks close to an actual tree and it fits the aesthetic of the shop, Sam agrees and promises to look after his new helper. Trevenant is quite curious about the man and his store, during the daytime it has signboards hanging from its branches to advertise new products and sales. But during the night, it was able to scare off any intruders, there were rumors about a monster tree that stalks the shop every night.

Phoebe decides not to say anything about it and have them believe what they want. Trevenant got a present from Sam, it was a music box with a wooden bird inside it, the Pokémon is very fond of the gift.

The Imp had visitors from the Great White North, so he took them sightseeing. The Poodle Pals were particularly impressed with their visit to the location from Grimm...until they were told there were no longer any Wesen about.

So, I'm working on chapter five of The Blind Sun, working out a shift in conversation between Troupe Master Grimm and Princess Cadance. How to explain what Princess Cadance has been up to... And in the process my brain does as follows.

"So, Cadance is the Princess of All Forms of Love/Higher being of Empathy and bonds. But sexual attraction, passion and lust 'n shit are Grimm's ballpark lol."

"Princess Cadance is a panromantic asexual in this au. That's the headcanon now. Because romantic and sexual attraction are two different things."

♢ After an incident where Ace,Deuce, Grimm and Daiya got in to horror movie night. She continue to haunt by weird nightmare. She happened to told Lilia and continue to receive a potion which Lilia claim that it’s ‘ going to relief her stress ’ and prevent further more ‘ weird dream ’ .

♢ She is easy going person but a trouble maker and magnet to Ace-Deuce combo. Kalim want to bring 20 camel to do a parade? Yeah let me ride one senpai! Silver senpai is sleeping on the ground? May be in valley of the thorn find it’s comfy let’s try too! Epel want to have a BBQ and share through magi-came so Vil senpai might be pissed? Count me in!

Elodie’s father left before she was born, so she’s never met him. Sometimes she’ll ask Allegra about him, but Ellie is a very intuitive kid and knows that her mom gets upset whenever her dad is brought up. So she’s stopped asking about him. 

Elodie loves fairy tales. Not the Disney versions, though she does love Disney movies. She much prefers the darker versions of the fairy tales; think Grimms Brothers or Hans Christen Andersen. Allegra sometimes worries about this, but she’d never keep her kid from anything she’s interested in. 

Elodie insists on dressing herself. Her outfits can range from a simple pair of pants and a cute shirt, to wearing cat ears or a tiara and pulling a sparkly tutu over her head. The latter is usually more likely. 

Like her mother, Elodie tries to be nice and friendly to everyone, and she is a kid that has never met a stranger. Unfortunately, this also means that she will happily approach and start a conversation with complete strangers before her mother has a chance to say anything. Allegra has seriously thought about attaching a tracking bracelet or something to Elodie, because she’s honestly afraid her daughter is going to get kidnapped one day. 

Elodie is an adventurous little kid who loves climbing trees, running around outdoors, and doing cartwheels. That kid is always on the move, and sometimes Allegra feels exhausted just keeping up with her.

- yesterday - I got to spend the day with my two best friends, Mia & Laura, we went to many shops and had coffee in a cute village nearby. I got some lovely things, too! I got new black joggers and a pretty pale pink pearl sweater from Zara, at Papyrus I got something special for Caitlin’s birthday (hehe) and myself a little poodle stuffed toy (she has pink hair bows) as well as a cute cherry pencil, I got just a new strawberry rose salve from Sephora, and from CVS I picked up a new NYX gloss in “strawberry parfait”, a little Beatrix Potter book, and a little mermaid toy! I’m such a child at heart ♡ I visited my Nonna and she was so happy - she gave me some cookies to take back to school! Also my daddy got me some Italian cookies so I can give some to my counselor :’)

hey since I’m an unfulfilled chodehammer, I’m gonna refer to my previous reblog and ramble about my influences (like I did in this post here [x]) but I’ll be a bit less gross about it, like so:

POST 1:

Inspired by Marvel’s “Champion of the Universe” character, but he was written to have some Lobo and some ‘80s boastmanship in him, so.... he’s Blue Lobo with a jetpack, Harley Race ‘burns, Hogan hair-and-baldness-covering-bandana combo, and a single-strap jetpack to emulate Mike Haggar. I wanted to do kind of an ‘80s b&w indie comic thing with him but, eh, constraints.

Psychic hive-mind dino guys. My reading took a bit from ‘80s sci-fi B-movies, my rendering was a hasty limited-palette attempt at paying homage to Graeme Base’s Animalia (loved that book as a kid.) Also kind of meant to be my sloppy love letter towards Fantastic Planet and Dinotopia.

Undead revenant alien dudes. These guys are entirely Quake II, with a pinch of Doom. Total ‘90s PC Gaming.

I can’t really take any credit, these mammoth people were meant to be an homage to Conan the Barbarian (and the Tower of the Elephant) by the writer, so that’s just where I tried to go.

These aliens were meant to be sentient sheets of flat metal, I had been playing with origami as a form of meditation at the time, I guess my idea was to have an unfolded sheet-metal origami man who communicated by wobbling out different frequencies.

Mantis pirates were mostly inspired by a French comic I forgot, I think? What was really great was that the other character artist on the project did the “good” mantis aliens and they went with a fine-lined approach that looked kinda Sailor Moon-esque.

I mean, that’s just Ben Grimm.

PART 2:

My direction was “greaser space biker alligators” so if there was anything in particular influencing it then I’m sorry, I forgot.

Stormtrooper type dudes, I’ve watched so many bad movies from the ‘80s that I kind of didn’t even have to try to make an “Italian B-Movie Star Wars Ripoff” vibe. Style was kind of my take-off of ‘80s X-Men stuff.

First one I did and a massive pain in the ass. I didn’t have any strong artistic influences because the writer was a bit particular about the hand and mouth, citing the Mouth of Sauron among other things (including the Unguraits, the unused Homestar Runner characters!! It’s a good thing the writer is one of my best friends ever)

Cheesy double-talking salesmen. I was way too proud of the idea that they’re basically squid-people with fake eye sockets and nose ridges, with their real eyes forming their popped-out cheeks.

I royally hate that I can’t remember where the collar design in particular came from, but that’s clearly Klaus Nomi (complete with giant shoulder pads). I had wanted to have these “vampire” aliens be a group, huddled around the camera, with multiple ‘80s NY-club-scene cameos, but the only one I particularly remember is that Grace Jones was supposed to be leering over this vampire’s left shoulder.

There’s an unused picture where the idea was a Galactic Council of peacekeepers and etc. where their View Screen picture was based off of the horrible meetings I was keeping minutes for twice every month, etc., etc., but, fuck it. Nobody needs to hear about my shitty previous job in order to ‘get’ a joke about a poodle alien playing on their iPad the entire time.
