Subject 001: Grian Xelqua

So.

No one asked for Grian.

But I wanted to draw him, so I did. :)

Grian’s design was actually very inspired by other characters. One of them was @uhohbestie’s way of drawing Grian’s hair. I’ve done it once before, and it was very fun, so I thought “why not?” The other inspiration was Mel from Arcane. :>

Grian was one of the designs I was pretty set on from the beginning, but I think waited to sketch and post him bc, you know. It’s Grian. If this one potentially brings in a bunch of new fans for the AU, I wanted to make sure there was more content for people to see.

Well, guess tumblr gets him first because insta’s down (lol)

So I saw IbisPaints newest tutorial and was like “man I HAVE to try that style out.” And while I was making it I thought what if I combined the stained glass art tutorial with this style?

Subsequently the natural thought process would be who to draw and the answer to that was our local chaotic bird man Grian. And since he’s a Skrunkly in my head, I made him a Skrunkly in my art as well. What do you think of this style? :D
