do you have any good queer news? I'm a queer person and hearing all the shit thats happening across the world is making me bummed out
I do! All of this is from LGBTQ Nation's excellent good news tag
^Article date: July 6, 2023
"Only two months after its formation, the “No SB 180” initiative had succeeded at making the city of Lawrence, Kansas a sanctuary city for LGBTQ+ people. Last week, in a unanimous vote, Lawrence became the first city in the state to declare itself as such.
Ordinance 9999 bans the city and all of its employees from collecting or releasing information on a person’s “biological sex, either male or female, at birth” and from helping with any investigation, detention, arrest, or surveillance “conducted by a jurisdiction with the authority to enforce Senate Bill 180, as enacted.”"
^Article date: July 28, 2023
"A federal judge has told a group of anti-trans parents to mind their own business after the group filed a lawsuit challenging an Ohio school district’s bathroom policy.
The attempts to meddle do not “pass legal muster,” he wrote in his ruling, saying that the group has no reason to sue.
“Not every contentious debate concerning matters of public importance presents a cognizable federal lawsuit,” Judge Michael Newman wrote, denying their petition to stop the Bethel Local School District’s policy that allows a single transgender middle school student to use the restroom that aligns with her gender identity."
^Article date: August 8, 2023
"The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the independent federal agency responsible for administering civilian foreign aid and development assistance, has released its first-ever “LGBTQI+-inclusive” policy since its founding in 1961.
The four-point policy is meant to serve as a blueprint for USAID staff and partners around the world to champion LGBTQ+ and intersex development and the human rights of all queer people through the agency’s work, said Jay Gilliam, USAID’s senior LGBTQI+ coordinator, in a video explaining the policy...
In simpler terms, the U.S. will try to improve diplomatic relationships with other countries by investing in locally-led LGBTQ+-inclusive programs that are shown to positively impact communities in need."
^Article date: August 3, 2023
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit has ruled in favor of three transgender students who were forbidden by their schools from using bathrooms matching their gender identities. The circuit court upheld a lower court’s preliminary injunction that said the schools have to let trans students use facilities associated with their genders...
The case involves three trans boys in Martinsville, Indiana and Terre Haute, Indiana, who need access to the boys’ room at their middle and high schools...
The court took into account the fact that Title IX bans discrimination on the basis of sex in schools that receive federal money, which is most of them. Citing the 2020 Supreme Court decision in Bostock v. Clayton Co. that found that job discrimination against LGBTQ+ people necessarily takes sex into account and is therefore prohibited under Title VII, the appeals court ruled that the trans boys are likely to succeed in their case and that preventing them from using the correct bathroom while the case works its way through the court system could cause irreparable harm.
^Article date: August 2, 2023
^Article date: June 21, 2023
"A federal judge has ruled on the side of trans rights after a conservative group tried to overturn an Ohio school district’s anti-bullying policy.
The national conservative group Parents Defending Education (PDE) tried to get a preliminary injunction passed on the Olentangy Local School District’s prohibition on misgendering trans students. The policy includes students, teachers, and parents and it applies to out-of-school hours and social media as well."
^Article date: August 2, 2023
There's literally a bunch more I wanted to include, by the way! Tumblr just stopped being able to load them. Going back to add a few more in the reblogs now.
I know it feels like everything is against us right now. But I promise you: that is not true. The bigots and bastards may usually be the ones moving faster (in large part because they suck and don't care about democracy or due process at all),
But in the end, we are going to win. I promise.

i keep seeing people in their late teens/early twenties having a "[X] content intended for younger audiences does not feel satisfying to me anymore but i don't know where to start to branch out into adult fiction" moment and i thought i would give some recommendations for adult fiction for my fellow creepy crawly queer people. all or at least a LOT of it will be on the darker and more fucked up side bc i primarily engage with horror and thriller media personally but feel free to add on with more or recommendations from other genres :)
edit: i am continuing to add to this list so there might be new recs (highlighted in pink) in here every once in a while! also want to add that there's a variety of POC, queer, and disabled authors in here as well, i am also all of the above (asian, aro lesbian, poly, disabled) and tried to incorporate as many wickedly talented, compelling narratives as possible. that's all, happy reading!

Post BC Babies
Last year, I played a BC with my sim Maeve. Olive won, Pierce ended up having an accidental baby with Maeve too, and I actually moved all the contestants to my lepacy save to see their lives after BC too. Some of them ended up having kids and I decided to share them with you!
Notes:
Thomas, Hugh and Lawrence are children of Lilith Delacroix (@forgottenhollowss) and Benjamin Schmidt from Appaloosa Plains. Lana Delacroix is daughter of Lilith and Flynn Hammond (@plumbob95) Yeah, if I remember correctly, Lilith and Benjamin split up and then she had one more daughter with Flynn, but Flynn was dating someone else.
Alaina is daughter of Flynn Hammond and Imogen Pelly from Appaloosa Plains.
Gretchen is daughter of Wren Burchett (@toxoplasmajuice). In my save, she's apparently dating Kyler. Son of Hector. Who is the son of Annie. Who is the daughter of two former BC contestants too. I love how everyone in this legacy is somehow related to a BC contestant, sometimes multiple ways.
TOU: Don’t change their genetics. Feel free to give them a makeover - new hair, new clothes, makeup etc. Don’t claim as your own, don’t reupload or use as a base for your own sims. And please, @ me when you post her, I’d love to see what they’re up to!

Paradise Lost or Faust?
Here again I am divided, but it's not so much the head and the heart this time. It's a matter of what we might call "thin" global vs. "thick" local attachments.
I can see that Faust is the greater work. It's the greater work, among other reasons, because, as I said earlier this week, it explicitly resolves Milton's whole devil's-party dilemma by recasting its devil as the antithesis in a historical dialectic its God is glad to oversee, pronouncing finally that all who strive will be saved. It's greater in scope as well, its reflections on mythology and culture extraordinary in their sophistication. Its carnivalesque synthesis of classical and grotesque—of the Mediterranean and the North, of Classicism and Romanticism—already contains all the virtues we ascribe to modernism. But even in matters of pathos, in the tragedy of Gretchen, Goethe has Milton beat. Goethe is also hilarious, Milton humorless. Goethe can play all the notes, while Milton mostly has just the one: sublimity. The British and American Romantics all agreed that Goethe was the greatest writer of their time, and I don't see how it could be otherwise. Faust is lamentably underread today. It could be the greatest work of western literature in the 19th century, at least before the Russians.
And yet, I don't really read German—I taught myself the rudiments of the language once and can putter around haplessly on the facing pages of a translation thinking about this word or that, but no more—and I'm not deeply schooled, though I am shallowly schooled, in the German literary tradition. And I didn't read Faust until grad school. Whereas I've been living with Milton since I wrote my culminating high-school research paper on Paradise Lost, and I can feel his sublime language much more deeply than any poetry I have to read in translation. Furthermore, the whole tradition of English-language poetry after Milton comes in response to him, and in the most diverse ways, poets as different as Blake and Wordsworth, as Dickinson and Lawrence, replying to or echoing their puritan precursor. Poetry and prose: Moby-Dick comes out of Milton, and therefore the whole tradition of the Great American Novel. Frankenstein comes out of Milton, and therefore the whole genre of science fiction. Then there is nonfiction, Milton as one volcanic, perhaps unreliable, fount of liberalism. Areopagitica preceding the Second Treatise of Government and On Liberty, if not the American Constitution itself. If the author of Frankenstein's mother had not quarreled with Milton, to take another example, would the whole course of feminism have been different?
So in theory Faust, but in practice Paradise Lost. In the world at large, I know Faust is the greater book as I know that New York or London or Paris are greater than the city I live. But I still live in my city. In the world I live in, Milton is everywhere and inescapable, as Goethe is not quite.

If there’s one thing about the dwampyverse… they do an amazing job at creating characters and then picking out the perfect names for them.
I haven’t seen Milo Murphy’s Law (I will I promise), but man, these Two sure do look like their names
Maybe I’m just used to seeing these characters but man, even like Linda and Lawrence look like their names, or Susie Johnson, or even Gretchen in the fire side girls, you know? I just think it’s neat

★NEW YORK
youtube
★MGNG Crrrta
Crystal Castles、Ke$ha、BritneySpears、Charli XCX、LadyGaga、Grimes
★Frost Children
youtube
youtube
★The Dare
youtube
★Club Eat
youtube
Fcukers

Everything wrong with AYA in one post
Phineas says "friendzone"
Phineas is freaking tall
Baljeet is tall
Gretchen is tall
Ferbnessa
Erm, what did they do to Buford's hair?
WHY DO HALF OF THEM LOOK LIKE BOBBLEHEADS
Isabella isn't chubby, chubby Isabella with curly hair>>>>>>>
Buford is thin
What did they do to freaking Milly, not only is she not chubby but she became hilariously tiny like, why not Gretchen. Give Milly her chub back and never make Gretch tall again
that one atrocious line "wE aRe gUys, wE dO nOt tAlK aBoUt fEelInGs"
The fact that the line was said by Baljeet
Doof plot was great but his design is just his normal one with grey hair
FERBNESSA
No Jeremy, Norm, Monty or queen gal STACY
Buford and Baljeet are straight
Baljeet and Ginger's relationship is handled very badly
Adyson has been reduced to common teen girl
All the fireside gals were done dirty, design wise and personality wise
Please, what did they do to Buford's voice?
Why does Jeet still sound like he's six?
WHERE IS CANDACE?
The plot regarding Ferb, Jeet, Buford and the gals trying to get Phinabella together was futile
Everyone is OOC
Phineas and Ferb wearing shoes on the bed at the start of the episode
Ferb and Holly are the only two designs I am completly satisfied with
● FERBNESSA
The plot has a lot of holes, I will not get into that
the "sick with salmonella" line was funny af but should have not been used as a joke
WHERR3 IS MY GIRL STACY
Why are all of Phinabella's friends acting like Marinette's classmates, it is weird
WHY WERE THEY ALL CLAPPING, I'M DYING LMAO
Why is Candace's chin pointy, give her her round face back
Isabella disconnecting from the BYG killed my heart
Where are Linda and Lawrence
WHY DOES EVERYONE BELEIVE THIS IS THE FINAL EPISODE. GIVE "LAST DAY OF SUMMER" THE RESPECT IT DESERVES.
● FERBNESSSSSAAAAA
I would have preffered if this episode explored the life of ALL the kids and not just one ship
Tell me if I missed anything

Cow and Chicken navigating their lives throughout suburbia, encountered hilarious problems not just at school but an evil funny guy with devilishly schemes named Red Guy whose singular intent to make the siblings' lives miserable. Along with Cow and Chicken, the 2nd segment that spun-off an very short-lived show called I Am Weasel. The spin-off that focus on a smart, dashing, intelligent, noble and successful weasel named I.M Weasel and an unintelligent, rude, dumb and stinky baboon named I.R Baboon who is unaware of Weasel's good deeds and acts as his rival and friend, and the mischievous funny devil Red Guy, he often antagonize the two.
