GREEN RONIN TO PUBLISH CYPHERCO'S INTO THE MOTHER LANDS ROLEPLAYING GAME

Tabletop RPG Leader to Bring Crowdfunding Success to Game Stores and Distribution

April 21, 2023—SEATTLE, WA and CHICAGO, IL: Green Ronin Publishing announced today that it has signed an agreement to publish CypherCo's Into the Mother Lands Roleplaying Game. Into the Mother Lands began as a critically acclaimed streaming show in 2020, followed by a $360,000 Kickstarter to bring its Afrofuturist vision to the tabletop as a complete, stand-alone roleplaying game.

"We're delighted to work with Tanya DePass and B. Dave Walters," said Green Ronin President Chris Pramas. "They've created something special with Into the Mother Lands."

The game takes place on Vutoa, a distant world settled by survivors of African Emperor Mansa Munsa’s expedition that left Earth 1,000 years ago. Over the centuries, the descendants of Mansa Munsa have struggled to flourish on Vutoa, a place that was once alien to them but is now home. Players will learn about the diverse cultures of their world, see what terrifying enemies await them, and find out if they can continue to survive on their adopted homeworld.

"Green Ronin is supporting us by bringing the game to new players, retailers and more," said CypherCo's Tanya DePass. "Our Kickstarter backers will get the game first, but then it will have a wider release. The IP, world, actual play, and all properties are our crew's creations but everyone's to enjoy."

"To clarify our role," added Pramas, "we are publishing the game and getting it into bookstores, game stores, and other channels. Into the Mother Lands is POC created and POC owned, and our job is to help the game reach the widest possible audience."

"Into the Mother Lands uses a new system of our design," said CypherCo's B. Dave Walters. "We're ecstatic to work with Green Ronin, a legendary publisher, to bring the game to backers, players, and storytellers."

Syero Is a Fey Knight with long, wavy hair and delicate iridescent dragonfly wings. In his centuries of travel, he often picks a mortal who deeply fascinates him and journeys with them for their full lifetime. His willingness to assist his mortal companion in nearly any task earned him many knighthoods across the years, including the title of Sovereign’s Finest for his efforts in Aldin. While his time amongst mortals has well endowed Syero with knowledge of many cultures and customs, it has not broken him of his love of going off on long tangents in even the most absurd situations. Finally caved and bought the new Dragon Age Faces of Thedas book from @greenroninpublishing and I honestly couldn't be happier! It's even inspired us to think about a new DA campaign even though ours came to a finish after 2 years last year. If you have played the DA game this is worth getting for the stat blocks and relationship info and especially for the group info like for the Carta or Antivan Crows. ICONS Superpowered Roleplaying The Assembled Edition . It blows my mind to pieces that Green Ronin Publishing, the company that put out the Dragon Age tabletop RPG is the same Green Robin Publishing that our out ICONS, a Superpowered Roleplaying game. Don’t get me wrong, I know that publishers will release different titles by different authors and creators. It’s just that this retail USD $34.99 ttrpg is 3/4 the size of a standard RPG book is something else than what I’m used to playing. The biggest complaint I saw in commentary before purchasing this game is the art. The art was too cartoonish, too basic. Too simple. Well, much as I like beautiful flowing art in my games, if the game is good then to hell with the art. Play the game. Since my post on Army of Darkness, I’ve been reading ICONS (Superpowered Roleplaying); I’m not just flipping through it, I’m reading it. This is a D6 game whose character creation is simple, whose rules are simple, whose gameplay is meant for players to be ready and able to jump right in. Hero creation is easy enough. You can roll for random background or choose it at the GM’s discretion, and from there you roll 2D6. I added the level determination chart to the story here so you can see for yourself. From start to finish of character creation, you’ll be rolling 2D6, from background through powers, power types and specialties. As aforementioned, if the game master approves, you can choose a background, powers and specialties, only having to roll for the strengths of each. . If you’ve played other Superhero RPGs, it all really comes down to choice, setting and atmosphere. Modern Age - Basic Rulebook. RPG da Green Ronin que busca emular os filmes de ação urbana num futuro próximo. O sistema usado é o AGE, Adventure Game Engine, que também serve de base para os Dragon Age RPG e Blue Rose. O sistema funciona a partir da rolagem de 3d6 mais valores de atributos, focus e bônus relevantes para se atingir ou superar um número alvo. É importante destacar que um desses dados será escolhido para ser um dado de stunt (façanha) que gerará pontos de stunt que podem ser gastos em vantagens mecânicas, o sistema também prevê outras maneiras de ganhar pontos de stunt. Outro ponto interessante do sistema é utilizar a mecânica de dificuldade da campanha, divida em modos gritty, pulp ou cinematic, que servem para determinar a capacidade de resistir a dano e a quantidade de recursos dos jogadores. A construção de personagens é direta e dividida em dois passos: geração de atributos, que podem ser aleatórios ou comprados com pontos, e escolha de antecedentes, também podendo ser aleatórios ou escolhidos. A evolução ocorre sem a utilização de classes de personagens, mas se dá através de 20 níveis. A arte interna é ótima e traduz bem o clima filme de ação que o jogo busca.
