Green Lantern (2023) #1-18: "Civil Corps"

To be a fan of Green Lantern is to suffer. Few people are chomping at the bit to write, let alone read, those stories, and he has one of the most despised adaptations ever. We are left to eat whatever bits and scraps come our way.

This story arc wasn't quite scraps, but it was fast food rather than a full-course meal.

Hal Jordan is back in action on Earth, reclaiming the pieces of his left that have once again fallen to shambles. And something is happening with the newly-formed United Planets and the Green Lantern Corps.

The story proceeds from there, with very little character development but intense plot developments. There's a lot of bombastic action that glows like a motherfucker (affectionate) and the final issue changes up the status quo in a way that's actually fairly interesting.

The arc was ultimately fine. I find it hard to recall anything egregious, either good or bad, and I can't imagine you won't have fun reading it even if you forget it the next day.
