Divine Bridge of Limgrave
Having finished with the Roundtable Hold for now, it was time I get this Great Rune actually working again. And to do that, I needed to go to the Divine Tower.
From the courtyard where I fought the lion (some debased descendant of the original lion lord?), the way was lined with statues of Banished Knights. This seemed to be a more recent addition than the rest of the bridge.
Moving forward, I found the source of the book and sword statues down in the pit of Stormveil. Statues like this must've once been a part of Stormveil, but that was a time long past. The only trace remained on the Divine Bridge. Why not remove them from here as well?
Of course it wasn't going to be easy. The bridge was just littered with broken golems as the ground below, so it was no big surprise when one of them stood up to oppose me. It was, however, a surprise when two more golems got up. One of them an archer farther down the bridge, the other with an internal furnace still so hot it could breathe gouts of flame. However, the golems weren't particularly good at staying in their lane. I downed one of them, and the other breathed fire that finished it off. I downed the firebreather, and before it could get back up, its chest was shattered by an arrow.
Getting to the end of the bridge to deal with the archer was a bit trickier, but the braziers and statues were still sturdy enough to block an arrow or two. I had to move between them (taking care not to stand too close) to get in range. Once I did, the archer had basically no defense and was easily dispatched.
Unfortunately, this is where the bridge ended. There was a gate, but I decided to climb down first and see what I could find. Not much, but there was a grey version of the Incantation Scarab headpiece I already found, this one for ashes of war.
the voice didn't say anything new, aside from the fact this is for Ashes of War, but i noticed something I'd never thought about before. The eye on the back of their carapace. At first, I'd assumed it was a natural marking. On closer inspection, it appeared painted on. I went back through my memory of scarabs I'd seen in the wild and they had also had the eye on their backs. And I only know of one person who uses an eye symbol like this.
It seems absurd, but could this be part of Gideon's information network? The scarabs are everywhere and no one really pays attention to them, but they're just insects. What purpose could they serve? Even if he could somehow see out of the eye symbol, it'd still be of very limited utility.
Something to stew on.
I touched the gate and was teleported to the foot of the tower. I went back to check, finding a couple un-grafted Stormhawks along the way.
IT bothered me that there was an entire section of the bridge that I'd just skipped over, but I didn't see any way to get over there so what was I to do?
The inside of the tower was otherworldly. The walls were inlaid with those golden meteorites from the tunnels. An elevator without mechanism raised me to the top. Pale wisps of rising mist would suddenly turn black and oily, dripping back down to the bottom of the tower. I could feel it. This was a place of power. As I approached the summit, I felt in tune to the other towers across the land. I didn't know what I'd find waiting for me at the top, but I knew it would, in some way, provide answers.
And yet, I was more confused than ever. More meteors inset in eight pillars. At the center, a patch of bare earth, and upon that earth, the Two Fingers.
Dead.
Curled around the outline of Godrick's great rune.
The Two Fingers are dead? Or is there more than one?
What role to the meteors play?
What was with the white fog and black oil?
What destroyed the divine bridge?

I know we’re all just clowning here on tumblr dot com but I do think the perception of Morgott as like, ultra-religious and sort of blindly following the Golden Order despite their hatred of Omens is a really contextless reading of his situation.
If we read the description of his great rune it says:
That the Omen King was born of the golden lineage, and that he was indeed the Lord of Leyndell.
Morgott was the rightful ruler of Leyndell, Omen or not that was his golden city full of people who would revile him if they knew of his true origin.
I think his motives are less someone who’s tricked themselves into believing in something that hates him and more someone who’s wanted a place where he belongs for so long that now that there’s finally a place that he provably has a right to he’s never leaving.
Morgott isn’t deluded about what the Golden Order is or he’d never have invented the Veiled Monarch. Even the lines about his becoming the Erdtree’s protector don’t really indicate he had a particularly faith-based reason for doing so, but rather that he found that he came to love the Erdtree despite not knowing love.
Morgott is the gothic heroine who just inherited a big cursed estate but he wants a place that’s his own so bad he moves into the haunted house anyway and starts loving the architecture despite it being full of ghosts that hate him.
Morgott who led the Night’s Cavalry to hunt Tarnished, and beat the shit out of Rahdan, and launched the Seige of Mt. Gelmir and prosecuted the bloodiest and most costly war in the Shattering is not a guy who is getting his blind fundamentalist on, he’s a guy who’s decided that he’ll pile up a mountain of corpses before he lets anyone take away or threaten his place and is willing to be extremely proactive about defending it.
Editing to add:
And see the thing is, I think there’s even more nuance to it than just Morgott finally having a scrap of something to call his own and being willing to defend it with all his might!
In hindsight, I actually think Morgott had a better idea than anyone what the Tarnished would eventually have to do to get to the Elden Throne.
His dialogue as he’s dying makes it clear he’s known about the thorns blocking the way into the Elden Throne and been considering every way anyone might get through them.
In his dialogue as Margit in Stormveil, he says very specifically “the flame of ambition” and speaks of snuffing that flame.
I think Morgott realized that the only way a Tarnished could get into the Elden Throne would be to burn the Erdtree, and not only has he come to love this fixture of the haunted house he chooses to live in, but he knows that burning the Erdtree would destroy the place he calls his own.
Is it any wonder he’s so proactively trying to stop any Tarnished from even approaching Leyndell in the first place, when in his eyes it wouldn’t be unreasonable to view a sufficiently powerful Tarnished as a direct threat to the piece of the Lands Between that he’s carved out for himself?
#morgott the omen king#morgott the grace given#elden ring#elden ring morgott#he truly is godfrey’s son#i love to make him sad and tortured as much as anyone#but i don’t think extremely bloody siege warfare is smol bean behavior#so to speak#this guy crawled out of a sewer to pursue high level geopolitics and military campaigning ok?#he came out of the shunning grounds got his great runes at some point#and was like I’m Going To Run This City State Like The Navy#and then he did!

None of the modern terts we have work well with any of the genes we've been getting since like Flaunt and Flair. They either make the dragon look too busy (thylacine, koi, crackle, flecks, polkadot, wish), hide key parts of the primary genes (underbelly, points, scales, etc), barely make a difference (sparkle, spines) or just have always been extremely situational (looking at you, Peacock and Soap). We DESPERATELY need tertiary genes that can balance out the business of the new genes while adding to the appearence of the dragon in a significant way.
#i don't want to have to use Stained alongside fucking Harlequin and Jester#and I think like#needing your dragon to have their tert hidden not because it doesn't match#but because it looks worse with a visible tert than with Basic#means there's a problem with the gene designs.#what I mean is I want to spend my dragon money but I'm running out of reasons to!#like the old genes can still be used with great effectiveness. Cherub is still elegant and subtle enough to work with Scales#but cinder. while even more economic than cherub.#has all the details in the exact spots that it gets disrupted if I use anything except runes and the terts of shame (sparkle or spines)#points and scales cover the face. Okapi covers the neck and tail. Thylacine thylacines all over it. Belly genes cover the underside markings#it's CLEARLY made to be used alongside line-breaking aether terts. but I like it in moderns. what the hell am i supposed to use with it.

Im curious, for people who have beaten the Shadow of the Erdtree final boss, rb and put in the tags how you did it!
(Don't say who it is though, I've still got mutuals who haven't played it and are avoiding spoilers lol)
#Personally I tried a whole bunch of different strats spells and weapons#before deciding ''No. I started this game with the claymore and I'm gonna end it the same way''#and then beat it with the timeless combination of Axe Talisman + Spiked Cracked Tear + Charged R2#Also the 2 Handed talisman + Shard of Alexander + RKR to really pump the damage on that charged R2 lol#but I really like hearing other strats for him!#I'm curious what y'all have come up with#I do really like that guy on youtube with Malenia's Great Rune and Dryleaf Arts + Ironjar Aromatic#who just face tanked the whole fight while beating his ass monk-style#lol#Pun's text Posts#Elden Ring#Shadow of the Erdtree

Best games for mental health&relax?
As someone who deals with anxiety and depression when I want to relax or am just feeling low and drained I’ll usually choose what others would consider “cozy games” because I don’t want any stress from shooters, strategy games, or anything that has a lot of stakes. I’ll do switch games for now since it’s my main console but I do have a 3ds, psvita, and my computer so I’ll make a list of those games later 💕
So my favorite games to relax to are:
~ stardew valley~ (you already knew this was coming) it’s just a really cute game with lots of options on how you can spend your time. You can farm, fish, forage, travel the mines, talk to the towns people, interact with love interests. There is just a lot to do in it and it has a really cozy small town cottagecore vibe that a lot of people find relaxing. Amazing replay value. I have like four different lives just so I can choose different farms, partners, things like that.
~ animal crossing~ (second most obvious answer) we all know animal crossing is a chill low stakes game that has a lot of similar elements I listed for stardew valley. You get to interact with cute little animals, decorate your house and character, forage, fish, find fossils, shop. It’s just a relaxing and positive game and is very popular for a reason. Idk about replay value because I really couldn’t imagine deleting my island tbh.
~ fashion dreamer~ if you like cute dress up type games this one is a decent lil game. It’s got lots of different styles for whatever your lil fashion heart desires and you basically walk around dressing up characters and they rate your outfits. It’s from the creators of style savvy and while it’s super cute I would wait for it to go on sale because it’s a bit overpriced imo. Style savvy is definitely the way to go if you have a ds/3ds. Still cute though. Don’t know about replay value because I’m fairly new to the game and haven’t come close to finishing or restarting anything.
~ unpacking~ this one is pretty cute and definitely a game that helps with anxiety. It’s a relaxed little puzzle game that unlocks parts of the story as you go along organizing each room to your home. You can try to solve the puzzles or you can just organize the furniture to your liking. Either way you want to play it’s super cute and relaxing and has some decent replay value after you complete it.
~calico~ super cute game where you run a cat cafe in a magical town with unique characters, little missions, and lots of cats you can pet and play with. There is magic, desserts, and you can ride giant cats like horses. Super soothing game. Character customization and decorating your cafe. The only drawback is it can get a bit glitchy but for the cuteness and the price I have no complaints. The music is really cute too. Not sure about replay value because my cafe is so cute I wouldn’t want to start over.
~coffee talk~ you run a coffee shop in the future and talk to all the incoming guests and learn their stories as you give them their coffee. This one is super relaxing and how I like to spend my evenings before bed if I want that extra cozy time to destress and relax. Cute art as well with different species and how they interact. I haven’t restarted yet but I’m sure there will be replay value with just how cozy and in depth the story is.
~rune factory 4 remastered~ this was originally a 3ds game they remastered for the switch and it’s so amazing that they did. One of my favorite 3ds games that is an offshoot of the harvest moon series with very pretty art, farming, cooking and crafting, romance, monster fighting, and just really fantastic story telling. Very cozy and hard not to get sucked into. Such a gorgeous game imo. Fantastic replay value.
~good pizza, great pizza~ you run a lil pizza shop and upgrade it to get better ingredients and equipment. Super cute chill game to pass the time and hard not to spend hours mindlessly making pizzas. Haven’t replayed it because I haven’t completed it but I imaging replaying it would be fun because you’re just making pizza and unlocking different ingredients. Relaxing game with cute art.
~monster prom~ cute game where you have to convince one of the monsters to go to prom with you. Funny writing, pretty art, and the ability to romance any gender while choosing your pronouns. It’s funny, the game play is question based, and it’s like little rounds of 15 mins and either you get them to go to prom or you get rejected. Then you get to try again. Replay value is obviously strong because I keep playing it no matter how often I’m rejected 🥲 being real though this game is funny, unique, and worth the price. I just have to beat the first one so I can try the second.
~what comes after~ you play as a character on a train of ghosts and you process the grief of passing to the afterlife and try to learn and console the other ghosts on the train who are passing. Pretty game that is mostly story based and worth a try. I haven’t finished this game so I’m not to sure on the replay value.
~little mouse’s encyclopedia~ a cute little game where you play as a little mouse exploring the outside and the dirt and you spend your time finding other little animals and bugs and plants and you read about them and what they are. Cute little educational game I purchased because I loved the art that ended up being super cute in the long run.
Honorable mentions:
- speed dating for ghosts (cute funny little game where you go on dates with ghosts. Short, sweet, and to the point. Decently priced for how quick you get through the game)
- cattails (you play as a cat that travels through its little territory you that you share with your other cat group. You gather little things, complete missions, scrap with rival cat gangs, and just walk around as a cat. Cute but a bit slow for my tastes.)
-rune factory 5 (don’t get me wrong, I love the fourth one and I’m sure the more I play this one I’ll learn to love it to. The gameplay is just set up a bit different and is a bit more similar to the harvest moon style than the fourth rune factory. The art is gorgeous though I was just hoping for more rune factory and less harvest moon when it came to the actual playing)
Games I’ve wanted and heard amazing things about:
The only reason I haven’t purchased and played these games yet is because games aren’t cheap and I need to finish the ones I’ve already purchased. That being said I’ve been looking at a lot of these for a long time and they are definitely going to make this list. I’m sure some of them would be ranked very high in the favorite games category as soon as I actually start playing them. Here’s the list:
* Spiritfairer
*Bear and breakfast
*Creepy tale
*Cozy grove
*Witchy life story
*Potion permit
*Hoa
*Littlewood
*Potion craft
*Gris
*When the past was around
*strange horticulture
*Lemon cake
*Wytchwood
*How to say goodbye
*Dreamlight valley
*Storyteller
*Cult of the lamb
*Little misfortune
*Night in the woods
* Sally face
And that’s it 🎉 sorry for such a long list but I wanted to include a bit of everything so you had lots to choose from. These are the games I play when I need a comfy happy place to go when life gets to be a bit too much to handle. I enjoyed making this list to be honest so there will most likely be more lists in the future. Maybe I’ll make a list of favorite otome games, anime/manga, kpop groups. Things like that. Anyway, hope you enjoy reading the list as I enjoyed making it 💖

The Blood Coven will stop at nothing to achieve their unspeakable goal... what's a cursed life for infinite knowledge, after all?
"The line between witch and beast is blurred."
The Titans consciousness ascend after they die, while their bodies serve as nourishment for the world. Should the cicle be broken by any means, would incur in the boundless rage of the Titan.

The Archivists, are one of the many inhabitants of the Cosmos.
Formless creatures of unfathomable nature... the proof that the Eldritch Truth and the Arcane are truely something to be pursued... question is... would one pay the price?

"In some other world, one not unlike that depicted in idyllic paintings scattered among Lands Between, a demigod and his Tarnished champion conspire their own ending to the tale of the shattered Elden Ring."
my Tarnished would have 100% been Radahn's strongest solider if the latter had survived the Festival and the scarlet rot.

Godrick's great rune & inheritance
Putting this in a separate post because it is a recurring topic regardless of website, so I just wanna say that Godrick INHERITED his great rune, 2 characters in the game straight up say it to you. You will see the most vitriol-filled half-assed theories about it so this is a reminder.
