I think my favorite difference between the comic and movie is that in the movie, they live in an isolationist fortified city and their only concept of religion is regarding Gloreth. They treat her like a God, all the way down to using her name as an expletive.

Meanwhile in the Comic they live in just. A regular medieval (albeit sci-fantasy with modern elements) city 😭 and they celebrate Christmas and it is CALLED Christmas, and they say "God" as an expletive which means that Christianity, and by extension Jesus Christ Himself exist in the canon of the Nimona Comic Universe

Hey y’all, it’s Champion of Destruction!

(CoD, or just SPM The Manga).

I’ve been situated on Instagram for a few years where I’m known as the person dedicated to adapting Super Paper Mario (yes, the entire thing) into a comic/graphic novel form! Thanks to someone’s recommendation, I have finally branched out to tumblr :)

As of instigating this account, I am working on Chapter 1–about 200 pages in—and I will slowly be adding the pages and artwork I’ve done in the meantime to catch up. Although the quality is a little worse, you can check out my Insta (@ championofdestruction) if you want to see that stuff now!

Other than that, yes I write all the additional dialogue myself, yes I draw and plan all the crappy pictures myself, and yes I love SPM wayyy too much.

Starting off the month with some new art I promised. Callan has joined the party!

A rather little, yet, young man is interested in learning more about the Sarutian people his elders describe as, "unrefined". They look more like the animals from early beginnings and their ways stayed in tradition, a vast difference from his home in Nekari. His outlook is optimistic and hopes to have great relations during his visit to their bountiful land. He desires to learn much from them as his home is on the brink of resource collapse.

I'm still writing and learning about this character so the drawings help me refine him and his role. I've made a few plot lines out of doodles I liked.

I am about 6 chapters into the script at this point, not sure when it's a good time to start making the pages themselves, but I feel like the writing takes me way longer and should be finished to avoid a hiatus on story.

In honour of 'Batman: Caped Crusader' coming out in the next few months, where I have heard it will be set in the 1940s (sounds very cool and I'm very excited to see it 😁), here is a piece I made reimagining Batman in 1919 🦇

Hiiii. I finally finished his design. Yarilo is the god of the spring sun, spring work, passionate love and sexual passions. A loving and beautiful young man because his love too great for one girl. He is like a violent wind, cheerful and mischievous.

The illegitimate son of Veles and Dodola. I read about his birth in a story. In short: Veles turned into a flower, Dodola smelled it, and Yarilo was born. So Slavic mythology is no less surprising than any other ahaha

I think his design turned out very well. What do you think?
