Revisiting an old concept for a thriller (horror?) graphic novel/game.

I have an overflow of vampire-related energy atm, so behold my latest creative project: ReVamped!

Plot summary: A quartet of vampires attempt to survive the modern era by disguising themselves as bats in Chester Zoo, but their plan goes pear shaped when they collectively develop a crush on one of the zookeepers. Hilarity ensues.

The four main vampires and their respective bat forms are as follows:

Dieter, the mischievous leader of the group, takes the form of a Honduran white bat

Hildebrand, who’s basically Orlok, becomes an Indian flying fox

Ludwig, the voice of reason who nobody listens to, is a Rodrigues fruit bat

Otto is the youngest of the group and a hopeless romantic (haven’t decided what sort of bat he should be yet)

The other main character is Evelyn, who the vampires affectionately refer to as Lady Evelyn. She’s in charge of feeding the bats and an avid believer in the supernatural.

I haven’t yet decided if there should be a villain in the story, but I’m toying with the idea of introducing a wannabe Van Hellsing sort of character, similar to Kent Mansley from The Iron Giant. Ultimately though this is more of a slice of life kinda plot.

I can definitely picture this being a graphic novel with a similar structure/layout to the Tintin series, only with a more manga inspired art style. Nonetheless, it’s on my list of ‘if all else fails’ projects, which basically means that if I’m out of ideas after completing a main project, then I can pull this one out and see what happens.

First time I've seen official concept art of him with tanned/darker skin! Perhaps a nod to his Romani roots? Not sure. In the story he's not nearly as tan though-- someone else did the coloring.

I know i haven’t posted in a hot second but it’s hard to write when you’ve got holidays and Arcane on the brain. Anyways heres a piece I did in my off time between commissions.

I have one drawing in the works with his armour redesign but for now:

Now, I'm not necessarily an expert when it comes to these things so if I can have some advice on them that'd be great but I did some research for the design (also with Arcane Viktor's back brace in mind).

I also had a design idea brace for his leg (I might have gotten the wrong leg, that's on me).

I wanted to keep as true to his original injuries by the end of the book as possible.

He also has burn scars leading from his back that travel a bit to his front.

These are, still, at the end, just some sketches and ideas for him. I'd like to do more research to see if this can be viable while also remembering the technically technical advances that they have in the comics.
