Also, how do you think the gravity falls locals would see those two? I think Ford would end up getting out of the cabin much more because of Stan. Maybe you could draw them going to town for drinks? I don't know.

I like to think the town locals would either be horrified of them and talk about them as cryptids in their own right, or just be annoyed by their shenanigans

But yes they’d definitely start out as “those weird twins that live in the forest” but once Stanley starts feeling like he’s actually safe from that old life Ford pulled him out of, he starts going into the town, which then leads to him dragging Ford along

It’s probably a mix of both, where the town sees them as those odd guys and then also get annoyed by what they do, but also I think they’d think of them as a new endearing staple of their town once the whole “newcomer / stranger” title fades from them. It’d be sort of the same way Stan is in canon with the Mystery Shack, where even though people find him annoying, they also always come to the events.

Imagine if Stan actually died in The Stanchurian Candidate - either because the pile of seeds wasn't close enough for him to land on, or it wasn't enough to break his fall. And Ford, who finally got the house to himself that day, see's the whole thing on TV.

So Ford watches his brother, who he assumes the worst about all of the time and was about to kick out back into homelessness at the end of the summer, literally give his life for Dipper and Mabel. Stan wasn't even unaware of the likelihood of death, he told the kids as much; so there's no way he did this thinking he'd be okay in the end.

Does Ford feel bad? Does he get angry? Does he convince himself that Stan deserved it? Does he go into denial thinking that this is just some long-con Stanley is pulling to make him say 'thank you'?

And a freshly traumatized Dipper has to slap some sense into Ford telling him that this isn't about him. That it's about Grunkle Stan, and he's dead. He's gone.

It was so easy to be angry and bitter towards Stanley before - because he was suffocating, because of the broken project, because of the portal incident-.

But all of those times Stanley was *there*, no matter where he was or what he was doing, he would find a way to survive one way or another. Even on the other side of portal, Ford knew that if he was still alive amongst aliens, demons, and monsters, there'd be no reason Stanley wouldn't also still be alive in their normal dimension.

It's easy to be mad at someone when you know they're there. When you assume they're always going to be there.

It isn't easy when the person is gone.

It's even harder when you realize that your relationship can never be fixed.

It's impossible when it dawns on you that you never even tried to fix it. That you never got to know them again. That you'll never get to know them again. That you had that chance, but you rejected it and now it's too late.

Like would that be messed up or what.

love the little moments when the group is dissecting the solas murals and they say something that foreshadows or relates to their own arc. Taash's "he had things to tell her and didn't, and she died" abt solas and mythal reflecting their companion quest arc with their mother dying and things left unsaid. lucanis speaking about solas and saying "everything that followed, he could've prevented, if he'd just told her no". does he realize that if he told caterina no from the start, illario never would have escalated?

Something that I’ve thought about several times since the lightning episode is the fact that Eddie only yelled out for Buck. He never said Evan. In fact, I never even considered that he might have used Evan, not even when I first saw the promo they released of basically just Eddie yelling for Buck (still such an insane promo). And it’s both easy and kinda difficult to explain why I think Eddie didn’t shout “Evan”.

The easy part: if Eddie actually had used Evan, I think it would have confused even dedicated fans of the show. He’s only ever used Evan once before, and nobody would’ve thought it was a normal occurrence, even for a horrifying situation like the lightning strike. I actually appreciate that they didn’t have Eddie (or anybody) call Buck “Evan” during the lightning strike, because it helped drive home the familial love point of the coma. I think he was full named by coma!Bobby, and irl!Athena, but he gets called Evan by his parents and Daniel while in the coma. And it’s meant to be a reminder that Evan is for the people who don’t know Buck. Daniel because he died, but his parents because they simply didn’t care to make the effort. Maddie and his fire family did make the effort. And so none of them call him Evan in this episode.

The hard part: the reason Eddie used Evan in the Will scene was to grab and hold Buck’s attention. To tell him that what he is saying is one of, if not the, most important things he could tell Buck. He says it to make Buck listen, to make sure Buck actually hears what he has to say. I don’t think we’ll see Eddie use Evan without that type of justification. And storming up the ladder with an unconscious or dead Buck is not enough for Eddie to need Buck to listen. This is especially significant because it also means that Eddie using Evan will be a sign for the audience to listen to Eddie too. Buck couldn’t hear Eddie use “Evan” while he was dead, and Eddie isn’t in the habit of mincing his words when it comes to telling his best friend the important things.

This post is meant to break down my thoughts about the lack of “Evan” shouting by Eddie, but also to get excited about the very distinct possibility of Eddie calling Buck “Evan” during a love confession! Even though there has only been one incidence of Eddie calling him Evan, it is clear that the meaning changes when in Eddie’s mouth. And I can’t wait to see how the meaning develops if and when it’s used during the love confession.

Lo’ak pushes himself under Jake’s arm and curls into his side – his little arms tight around Jake’s neck. He doesn’t offer to kiss or touch Neytiri’s belly. Out of all the kids, he’s the one struggling with the idea of a new sibling the most. Jake thinks it’s just because Lo’ak has been the baby for as long as he can remember and is afraid of his place in the family being usurped. Jake hopes that once the baby is born, Lo’ak will realize that he isn’t being replaced and grow to love his new sibling. [...]
